I remember little me thought charmy was annoying AS FRICK 😭 but I love him

anyway then when I started school and I was always an introvert- and whenever I had a bad day (especially my first few days at elementary) and I’d just imagine Sonic Amy Tails and Knuckles (I’d say shadow too but little AP thought he wouldn’t even be friends with little ap XDD)

I’d just imagine them sitting with me when I’m alone at school or say goodnight etc etc- ✨ and that was fun XD

and seeing how this year sonic fans ARE GETTING FED SO FREAKING WELL -

like- MAN this year is sonic/shadow year,last year was FNAF - 😭 snrk

anyway I’m just so happy watching SxS playthrough and get hyper like a little kid,I can’t wait for the movie too EUGHHH

it’s kinda cool to me how so many years ago I’d play sonic games on my Gameboy or the X-box with my relatives

then some years pass by I started watching Sonic X,play the sonic run game thingy on mobile- there’s also this sonic racing cars game I forgot it’s name bare with me :,] idk if it’s on iPad or Xbox/playstation but like I remember playing it too!!

then oop sonic boom came out- watched it a bit (not so enthusiastically I didn’t like it at first- not the character design or attitude or anything- I especially HATED how dumb they made my boy knuckles 😭 listen I was still pretty young HSHSHS)

but then I discovered some really funny sonic YT channels- my favorite one and I still watch now is SonicSong182 - they’re so silly and I love everything bout this channel XD I recommend (at some point they were also part of my childhood pf) and I just discovered it again last year!!! My inner child was STIMMIIIIING more so knowing that one of my close friends know this channel too :D!

and then the first and second sonic movies came out AND BOYYY THEYRE SO GOOOOOOOOD AUGHHH I need to rewatch them just to refresh memory AND to be more hyper for Sonic 3 :]

and now college me is gonna watch sonic 3 — like ngl im so happy to live through this and im so so happy Sonic never really died and I never really lost interest in it at all,no matter what,im just thankful Sonic made my childhood,made my teenage hood,making my adulthood,and still making my inner child so happy Yanno?

It’s the little things in life,and the more I’m growing and the more I’m maturing the more I learn to appreciate not just the big blessings but also the tiniest things too- and honestly? It helped me?? Somehow? No idea how to explain this but it helped me

I know people are coping hard for Part 2 but…

They are probably overthinking Kenjaku scene.

Takaba's ability is manifesting ideas he seems funny, so he manifesting his duo in his routine to be funny with him. That's not real evil Kenjaku, just a product of Takaba's CT, a comedic version of Kenjaku.

I bet it wasn't intended to be serious, it was supposed to be funny. Takaba scene is a part of typical "everyone gets a happy ending" montage.

Mei Mei/Simple Domian “plot” is over.

Zenin clan is gone, Gojo clan is irrelevant without Satoru, Kamo is chilling somewhere. What clan wars do people expect?

Tengen/Merger/Culling Games plot also get it’s rushed unsatisfying conclusion this chapter.

I also see a lot of people saying that next chapter might introduce new villain for Part 2 but again I don’t expect anything serious. I expect "last mission" to be another oppapi joke like "we need to save Yuta" and mostly light-hearted chapter about the main trio being happy together.

At course, I might be very wrong, but I honestly don’t see any set up for a sequel right now. Gege killed all potential plot lines. Was it satisfying end? No, but it reads like definitive end.

The only thing that was left if Gojo’s funeral but it seems that we won’t see it. I’m so happy that Gege wrote about Sugar Guy’s bullied classmate but couldn’t force himself to add a couple of panels where characters say something nice about Gojo who sacrificed their life for them /s

I agree on Kenjaku. The speech bubble over the guy's face with his hairdo still visible is a dead giveaway that's supposed to be taken comedically. Either that's a poor guy who is now forced to look like Kenjaku or its a strange CT construct Takaba made who could be a depowered Kenjaku clone. The real Kenjaku could've survived but not in Geto's body.

Okay, the happy ending montage.

There are so many happy endings, it feels like Gege changed JJK's genre all of a sudden. JJK was never this happy. Even Gojo's stint as a soul meeting his old buddies again at the airport which I already found too happy, was still steeped in his and everyone else's gruesome deaths.

Taking this at face value, it looks like Gege fumbled his ending. So right now it looks like he'll go the "the story continues peacefully but it still goes on" route. Did he have to break established canon for that though?

Like, why did the CG end all of a sudden? Sukuna's death or Tengen getting freed from him shouldn't just end them. That was never established anywhere. What was established was the hosts of the reincarnated sorcerers being lost. They can't be saved outside of Megumi and Hana but now Maki says they will save them one by one.

You could say, Gege sat down and wanted to end everything, even if it was rushed and cut off.

Or you could try reading this theory how the last 3 chapters were actually an induced dream sequences that Yuji is cooking up in his head right now while he's about to die.

All these super happy endings for everyone, the thematic of making sure that neither Megumi nor Yuji are to blame for what had happened, drawing inconsistencies, the lack of Gojo and Choso, and how no other conflict exists right now even though it should like the invasion and JJ soictey instability, all of that could be explained by Yuji thinking of everyone ending up happy while also pushing the dead and other conflicts away from his subconsciousness.

And I gneuinely, genuinely think Gege would pull something like that off. Making everyone, the audience and Yuji, think they had their happy ending when in reality Sukuna won (or the merger started or sth similar). That could be why chapter 268 was titled Finale and why this chapter is titled Dream's End.

As it stands right now, JJK will end okay-ish. This chapter itself could've been the last chapter except Gege wanted to make one last time skip.

But if Gege really went for the "memories that never existed" route, then JJK will end bombastic.

have you ever dreamed about atz/idol(s) before?

i had a dream not long after txt's tnc:temptation was released. i was a main role (??) of some sorts in txt's cysm and we were shooting the mv (i was watching content from tdc:eternity era before sleeping so i guess that explains it)

so blah blah blah, terry and i become best friends, blah blah blah, i end up going home after the shoot. next morning i wake up to what seems like a studio choom behind ep, and its txt's reactions when they find out i wont be filming with them anymore??(somehow we skipped a whole 4 albums and came back to tnc:temptation?) so soobin, beomgyu and yeonjun were spinning in a t-pose with the fairy dust sprinkling around them, terry and kai were watching them, and then they were like all sad when they found out i wasnt filming anymore, then started sending hearts and blowing kisses to the camera AND TERRY SAID I LOVE YOU😭

so i started crying in the dream and posted the clip of yunjin saying 정말 감사합니다 on my twitter 😭😭 then i woke up and got really sad that i wasnt actually friends w taehyun

in all my dreams of txt, taehyun is always my best friend and its so sad when i wake up to realise it was just a dream and ill never be friends w him 😭😭😭

Okay! So I HC Yuji to be the kid that always makes friends with the transfer kids THE. FIRST. He's that sweet, angel like classmate who's always helping everyone out happily and makes sure no one is ever left lonely or so. Not because he's trying to be nice or sth, simply because it's in his instincts!

And that's how I HC us becoming friends, because I always make sure the new transfer kid has a friend ASAP because I was bullied as a new kid too. (kind of? It was more of picked upon. Lmao. No one can truly bully me because to bully me I would need to be scared or freaked out or whatever 😂 ain't gon happen. But anyways, it was not so pleasant to have my own classmates be hostile to me so I make sure I make the transfer kid feel welcomed and atleast a little warm and safe.) Oh wait. also this is perfect. he absolutely makes himself a friendly face and a safe place to everyone he meets no matter how late in the year! (he’s so precious i might overload and explode actually)

i’ve also been the new kid a few times in my childhood, and since making some big moves i still feel a bit new and out of place sometimes, even at 22. as a kid that was really overwhelming but as an adult i mostly find it freeing and exciting! new places to explore! (new people to meet if i can work up the courage!)

but having a yuji around would be so lovely!! he wants to make you’re situated and you know where all the best places to eat are and the cheapest shops with good finds!!

and maybeee he spends a little more time getting to know you than he has other transfer students in the past 🥰🤭

also the toughest part of writing for me comes down to a few things, it depends on what i’m writing. most of the time it’s the last line(s). i have it in my head that they need to be impactful and struggle to just let something come to a natural end. other times it’s the title (COMING UP WITH A TITLE CAN LITERALLY HAVE ME YANKING MY HAIR WHY IS IT SO HARD WHEN IVE JUST WRITTEN OVER 10k WORDS???)

don’t get me started on writers block tho that’s the real bitch. writing when you don’t want to/forgot how (??? how does this happen. it’s my favorite hobby.). can be tough!! but that’s when i start posting for some brainrots, or put on a playlist with a vibe that gets me amped…. but mostly i just talk to stef till she snaps me out of it 😅🫶

The gameplay and story intergration within Ux is sth I believe no other KH game replicated (Dream Drop Distance, DS Re:Coded and Chain of Memories come close) and it trully enhances the experience of certain plot points as those before me had mentioned in these set of posts. And it goes even further than that:

It was already mentioned how you don't actually get to experience the Keyblade War in Ux unless you had played the later added flashback event. The differences between X & Ux do not stop there, we see em via the Disney worlds you visit. Not only did you not go to Enchanted Dominion until waaaaaay later, you also didn't get to see Castle of Dreams, as well as the proper ending to Agrabah. Like you know sth was off and it wasn't just the lack of the War.

Then there's the whole Action Point system that got removed with Ux. AP in the original X was used as limiter to the number of actions you can take DURING quests (vs only being a resource that bars you from doing TOO MANY quests), like opening chests was a certain ammount of AP, fighting Heartless on the map was another. You even had actual proper items such as Potions. This all really drove home the feeling of things being cut short because of the War, you had to manage your priorities more carefully in story and gameplay. Compare this Ux's lax approach that let's you do so many things bcuz the Dandelions are trying move themselves away from the bad memories by going as if the War never transpired.

Another neat thing is how the cards/medals sometimes served as a hint towards the series' future. In canon they are they are powers pulled from the future via the Boom of Prophecies to aid the Player in fighting and collecting Lux, that is the game's reason as to why we see many of familiar faces (as well as promo event characters). So in turn you don't see cast from the age of fairy tales on them. The first instance where that was not the case however was for og X's third anniversary, they released a card with Nomura's artwork of KH3's Destiny Trio alongside Ephemera, Skuld & VENTUS. And this was BEFORE we even knew about the new Union Leaders. Then a few months later for Ux's 1st anniversary, Nomura made a sketch with Ephemera, Skuld & Ventus as well hinting about the "Five" which only got properly introduced in like March 2017 with Unchained X rebranding into Union X.

This would have been the only instance but then, at some point during Union X' early run, we got a medal set featuring the Foretellers. For a while that felt against the established medal patterns UNTIL KH3 released and BAM! Foretellers are in the present! Similar happened to Strelitzia who was featuree on Ux's 5th anniversary medal, and then B A M! Strelitzia is in Quadratum chilling with Sora in their expensive apartment! You really wouldn't have gotten this experience unless you played the games or kept up with the news.

Heck I don't think anyone would have really understood the importance of Ventus wielding Missing Ache and not his signature Wayward Wind Keyblade unless they had grinded through Ux's Proud Mode quests (even tho it was originally a Days' only Keyblade)

Remember how we had to work our butts in a special Ux event to get our names in KH3? Which resulted in one of the most satisfying sequences in all of KH? It feels even better cuz Ux players earned that spot, they were the Kurt Zisa of KH3, how much cooler can it get from that???

Oh and recall the insane fandom moment that was original X's Secret Episode that served as set up for Maleficent's role in Ux's plot? Yeah that cutscene never got officially localized through Ux, but it still sent the fandom spiraling bcuz it managed to elaborate Maleficent's motivations as seen in Re:Coded's additional scenes in 2.5 (that was still rather fresh in people's minds) as well as Dream Drop Distance.

X series is fking wild bro.

Let's talk khux gameplay and plot,

imo I think part of khux's story telling and the impact of the story gets lost now that the game is defunct. I always thought people didn't appreciate how the gameplay and the mechanics actually had an impact on the story and while that impact become virtually nonexistent later on, I always thought it made the story far more engaging when the game was just chi/unchained chi and also the English translation didn't do it too well ngl

Anyway what I'm specifically talking about is the medal system. Also I feel like the whole bangle thing wasn't explained well in game but really it just comes down to leveling up medals specifically. If you never played khux, you equip medals to your keyblades and they doa specific attack and to level them up you combine multiple of the same medal and you could see how leveled up a medal is by the amount of yellow dots next to it and, in JP at least, this was called "guilt" and like wow that name fucking slaps. And when nightmare chirithy reveals the player has been collecting darkness this whole time thru the medal system, you have literal guilt on your conscious. You are guilty of collecting darkness and negative emotions like guilt to use for your own power. And in Back Cover when the foretellers are made aware of this, there's no stopping it and ofc the player can't stop either, they HAVE to get stronger, you literally have to keep playing the game,

Another part of the game that I appreciated is the way the name changes factored into the game; chi was the original "world line" that the dandelions existed in and at first unchained chi had come off as just a remake but really what we're playing is the continuation, where the player and the dandelions are now in this unchained state/new world line and they're reliving their time as wielders but now without the war/"dark" memories and finally when they relive everything and get back to the "present," they continue on after into "union cross" which I feel like. wasn't explained well in game that much tbh but if you didn't understand what that meant in game, it was just to say that unions didn't matter anymore and they were all dandelions so the unions. when the unions are crossed.

and tbh the experience of playing this game in real time also added to the experience a lot and the impact of the story especially with a player insert character. I think the most effective use of this game being played in real time was Strelitzia. Now in the english version, everything with Strelitzia was all one update and the english ver was behind so honestly they had to do catch up they couldn't really afford to lag behind. But in JP, which most khux fans kept up with using fan translations, Strelitzia's introduction and her death happened about a month apart so it gave the players time to actualyl grow attached to her and THEN we get crushed. You can easily pin point the exact time certain khux fan art was drawn bc in a group drawing of the dandelions Strelitzia is there instead of Lauriam since he was only introduced after her death

and another thing! It only became apparent by the end of the game but khux actually takes place over the course of about 4 years. which is fucking insane. because the dandelions were stuck in the data for 4 years and didn't know it until the glitches started. and the game ran for roughly the same amount of time and we weren't even aware of that either until the glitches! ("why 4 years" there are cutscenes that literally say "4 years ago" so yeah girl what the fuck haha)

Anyway yeah this was just me rambling I think about this so much all the time can you tell. I hope missing link does something like this too tbh it makes it more fun and makes it feel that your actions as the player actually have impact on the story

If you wanted a kiss from him, you'd bluntly just call him from where you're sitting and tell him to kiss you the crew were used to it

Or during meal time he would ask you to feed him and you did so casually infront of everyone. Insert Sanji chocking

So that day, during lunch time, while you were eating, you suddenly felt nauseous and wanted to vomit

You covered your mouth and quickly ran out of the kitchen tossing the fork and knife on the table

Everyone was worried so Chopper called Luffy and both of them followed you

After you were done, Chopper told luffy to carry you to the sick bay

After doing so, Luffy waited outside with others

After doing some checkups with Chopper he told you that you're pregnant

You're eyes turned to stars as you excitedly jumped out of the bed chopper got freaking worried when you jumped like that

You opened the door and jumped over Luffy wrapping your arms around his neck and legs around his waist

"Luffy!!!! We're going to Be parents!!!" You exclaimed happily

"Haaaaaaa?!!!" Yelped Luffy with the rest of the Strawhats

You pinched his cheeks and streched them

"Luffy!! You're going to be a Gomu Gomu Father!!"

And now your flying in his arms

"YAHOOOOO!!!!!" He said as he spun you around

So your pregnancy period was quite fun For Luffy, especially that part when you woke up in the middle of night asking him to bring you sth to eat

He'd gladly join and even shares those weird cravings with you he think its delicious

When its finally the time, he wouldn't freak out, yes he's worried on you but he's so excited to see his Baby he wants to teach them how to fight, ends uo getting hit by Nami at the idea

When the Baby is finally between his arms, he snuggles into them and widely smiles at how beautiful they are.

Zoro:

You usually have training seesions together

He would do his own workouts and you'd do some random exercises

Today, Zoro was looking for so you can do today's workouts, but he didn't find you

So he straightly went to the crow's nest and started doing his own workouts he knew you'd come anyways so he didn't mind it much

So when you finally came, you glanced at him with a wide grin on your face

But the moment he holded the tiny figure in his arms, he was for sure the happiest swordsman on earth.

Sanji was done with cooking and he's now cleaning the kitchen

But suddenly he hears Usopp calling out his name telling him to come here quickly

He comes out and before he could even speak Usopp yelped

"OI SANJI!!! I think you should stop what you're doing and head to the sick bay, (Y/N) just fainted few minutes ago!"

His heart dropped in his shoes, he ran to the sick bay tossing his apron on the floor

He smacked the door with the color drained from his face

He's worried as hell, what happened to you, you were fine just at dinner

So he seeks for an clear, quick explanation from Chopper note that Chopper had already informed you about it

So when the day finally comes, he's internally panicked, but he was worried on you the most

But when finally he carries the baby, he got too emotional and started crying too and so was the baby

Unnecessary Hermit MCC Team Speculation

So according to Scott, teams are in the works, applications likely closed a few days ago, MCC 14 date is known to participants, MCC Twitter says they’re gonna steal CPK’s spotlight after wishing him a happy birthday. So we’re getting MCC 14 relatively soon. Hence I’m making my 284927391 hermit MCC team speculation.

Hermit duos:

Actually I think we’ll be seeing more duos in MCC S2.

1) Hermits and Scott have probably realized hermit duos perform way better than trios/ quartet (the only hermit duo team that didn’t get to DB is the first time False and Ren played)

2) They wanna meet new people, but they also want to play with friends. So 2+2 will be a good combo. You can meet new people while having a buddy you a stick to.

False + Cub

I don’t think any of the hermits are confirmed to join (Doc has shown interest) but I feel these two would most likely be in MCC 14?

1) False has been in every MCC since debut

2) Cub plays every other MCC, and he skipped MCC 13

3) Most important of all, they’ve both been polishing their skills through parkour and speedrunning etc. I think they’re currently the most competitive of the hermits, so I won’t be surprised at all if they pair up for a competitive team.

False + Grian

A surprisingly popular duo in post-MCC 13 team predictions. I like them as a duo, and I used to think we’ll have a bigger chance of getting False + Cub/Ren, but now I think about, the team predictions may be right.

1) False has been with Ren and Cub for their first victory, so according to ✨meta✨ she’ll be with Grian for his first victory and her third. The Hermit Winner enabler.

2) Grian is the only hermit regular who hasn’t won yet, and really really wants to win (he said he was gonna cry himself to sleep after he lost MCC 13 lol)

3) False is seen as the most competitive

So if Grian wants to win and go full competitive, and I feel Scott will likely pair him with False. Also Reddit loves this duo apparently. Another incentive.

False + Ren

Ah yes, the hermit team staple. Ex base-buddies my beloved. The duo that’s always been together. I miss them lmfao

I feel they’re gonna continue pairing up because False said she’s gonna collect all ranks with Ren? Also I feel Ren likely asks for False every time (Scott said someone asked for False back in MCC 9, we thought it was H, but apparently neither H or Fruit specified a person, so I guess it’s Ren. Makes sense because Ren’s with False literally every single time).

There’s not much to say except if they team up again, everyone saw it coming.

But also exactly because they’ve teamed up for so many times that they may decided to split for a MCC or two? That doesn’t seem to be what they’re doing though.

Ren + Cub

Honestly every time I think of this potential duo, I just see False sandwiched between them lmao. Because this a hermit trio. These two are probably False’s most frequent collaborators?? (Although there’s not much False and Ren collab this season)

Basically I somehow can’t see this happening without False. I’m sorry lmao

Grian + Cub

To a lot of people’s surprise, they haven’t teamed before. They’re probably the duo that collabs the least often on Hermitcraft so I kinda get why. Still wanna see this duo.

Grian + Ren

They’re close enough that they apparently visit each other irl. Which is very sweet. I can honestly see them as a duo, just chilling and having fun.

Hermit trios:

False + Ren + Grian/Cub. With the FRG trio happening more often in recent MCCs, FRC trio happening more often in the early, chill days. Hermit trio + S tier (aka. Lime Liches) is the most powerful version of hermit trios, and may even rival the strength of hermit duo + S tier teams.

FRG:

Honestly this seems like a feasible trio, especially when Cub skips a MCC/ plays with non hermits (MCC 7, 11, 12). There’s also the Lime Liches bias with this trio, so Scott might be more inclined to put them together?

Also if Cub skips, it means Scott will either have to make a hermit duo + solo hermit OR make a hermit trio. And Scott will probably put the solo hermit with hermit adjacent (eg. Grian with Pearl). Also pretty sure for this case, it’s gonna be False + Ren duo, Grian with hermit adjacent people just like MCC 9. That being said, MCC 9 was special because I think False and Ren specifically said they were gonna go competitive, while Grian not, so it makes sense for the split. For the current meta of competitive hermits, it might be easier for Scott to stuff the hermits together in a trio (eg. Lime Liches)??

FRC:

The last time this trio appeared was MCC 8. From that moment onwards, Cub has been in competitive teams either in a duo or solo, and had gotten to Dodgebolt in all his post-MCC 8 tourneys. So I honestly don’t know if we’ll see them together again. Maybe we’ll get something like Lime Liches.

New hermits:

I can see False-Ren-Doc as a trio for Doc’s first MCC.

1) This team appeared in CotC

2) To use Ren and Doc’s words: #ShipRendoc

3) Putting False here because I feel non hermits will be very ?!!???? at the Rendoc flirting

I can also see Iskall in a hermit trio. In particular Iskall-Grian-Ren

1) We got Team FRIC in MCC 5, so maybe something new?

2) Renskall. That’s it.

3) Everyone wants Grian-Iskall interaction, especially because they don’t collab that much this season compared to the last

But really I can see Iskall with every hermit regular. The reason I feel newcomers will be in trios not duos is that having two veterans to coach the newbie(s) is better than having one.

Hermit quartet

Genuinely don’t think this will happen if the hermits go competitive. Maybe we’ll get this for a chill MCC. Maybe not.

The hermit quartet in MCC 5 did pretty good though, but team standards have changed a lot since then. I kinda wanna see Iskall in another hermit quartet.

Others:

The famous Grian-False-Techno-Wilbur team, if you ignore the swearing thing and opposite Dodgebolt strategies. This team will have a fuckton of clout, probably comparable to MCC 13 Pink.

I actually feel this might happen because it’s highly popular and highly requested

But also 1) the swearing thing 2) Scott tends to put people who have similar attitudes (eg. hermits play with people who advocate arrow splitting) 3) they’re a powerful team. So maybe not.

Lime Liches. I seriously believe this might happen because of the very high demand and the Blue Bats bias. They got screwed over bc of parkour, many people think they deserve a redemption. They’re not too strong as a team either. It’ll be like MCC 8/9 Green.

Also the Fruit+Grian duo. I’m pretty sure this duo will happen at least once in S2. Grian famously commented he wants to team with Fruit, Fruit replied, even had an alt Twitch called “grianstanaccount”. Won’t be surprised at ALL if they ask for each other. Maybe this will happen along with LL redemption.

Hermits and H? This is to pacify the Blue Bats fandom. Also if we have hermit trio + Fruit, why not H lmao. But H said he wants to play with new people, and I think he said he wants to team with Puffy, sooo.... imagine we get sth like False Cub H Puffy. Lmao.

Hermits and Dream? I said I can’t see this happening, esp with Ren, but maybe Scott will do it for the Dreamslayer memes

Hermits and Quig? After Pete and Fruit, Quig is probably the most hermit friendly S tier. I think people said he would vibe well with the hermits. Quig is also involved in the X Life circle, which overlaps with the hermits’ circle.

Anyways. I’ve liked all Hermit teams so far, I’m sure Scott will make them fantastic as always. If you’ve reached this point, thank you for reading my pointless speculation. See you when MCC 14 teams are revealed :)

Fruits Basket, SE03, Ep3

This ep is exactly like se02, ep 24, meaning it was divided clearly into two parts. While the graduation theme unties the two parts, you can point things out exactly like ep,24:

1st part : Machi’s story= the important part.

2nd part: scattered parts here & there that concern yuki, ep, 24 his interactions with akito, here his interactions with Motoko).

plus, an ep cliff hanger: (e, 24 the dvd given to kureno, here, Isuzu’s mysterious fate).

it is exactly the same even a small kyo/tohru moment!. School graduation instead of the zodiac’s new year gathering. 

Really awkward pacing, but that’s furuba, we celebrate when they DO connect dots for once! lets talk abt the REAL ep: MACHI.

-Machi’s awkward presence:  

Although I love Machi, I’ve voiced my concerns abt her character in Furuba:

It seemed that Machi was solely created to be a step in yuki’s success journey more than a character on her own right. After getting motherly love (tohru) leaving the nest, Yuki needed friendship (kakeru), then as an independent man, he needs romantic love: (Machi). This is all fine initially but I was yearning for more individuality for Machi as a character. All furuba characters were given space to be unique including minor characters like Motoko who narrated her own story each time she’s on screen & we lived it with her within two seasons & a number of eps.

 However, Machi’s background was introduced thro her brother’s exposition in se02 & that moment was a yuki/ kakeru bonding moment.

Thro kakeru’s exposition  we learned how similar yuki & machi are (the parental neglect, high expectations, cold sibling relationship, Big brother saves himself by himself, big brother pushing for redemption & the younger sibling’s still trapped silently ). While that makes for romantic appeal between the two which makes the writer’s job easier, it steals from Machi individuality.

Then her part in ep, 24 was shown & I was given hope for Machi’s individuality as her own inner voice spoke volumes abt her as a person away from yuki (romantic interest) or Kakeru (big brother). Having a lot of screen time, while can make a character more believable to the audience, is never a factor in character’s depth nor individual worth. Heck! kyo (part of the main trio & the main character’s love interest) has only ONE ep in se02 to explore his issues & by far it is my fave ep in se02 as it established kyo’s trauma, psyche, mental issues & emotional baggage better than I could ever imagine! You can DO WONDERS with little time if you knew what to do. That’s what happened with Machi this ep (half ep).

-Machi’s shines! (trauma & romance):

I was so relieved to learn that altho both Machi & yuki despised perfection as it suffocated them, the writer (thankfully) went abt a different approach with Machi. Unlike Yuki who went silent cuz he felt his voice didn’t matter as he was used as a tool, Machi went silent cuz she was was NOT needed, & not only discarded but painted as WRONG. If you admit that raising me this way is wrong, then what does this make me? What should I do with myself? I’m wrong! boring, a failure, & a presumed killer!! all while I was absolutely doing my best! all while I was having good intentions! It is devastating but It makes Machi real. A character on her own right with her own trauma, struggle, pain & outlook on life. Although, the writer made the whole yuki/Machi meeting orchestrated by Kakeru to quickly make the two siblings one step closer, it worked cuz kakeru chose to not interfere after setting the scene. He played a subtle mach maker & tried to find happiness for his sister silently. Kakeruy is yuki’s best buddy & Machi becoming the girlfriend, the trio will have to hang out more which will slowly but surely warm Machi towards Kakeru. While the flat visit is the part where Machi open the lid to Yuki with a spark of romance at the end, the chalk scene is the romantic part! Not only did Yuki noticed her panic & saved her by breaking a piece of chalk, she secretly remembered his promise! “ lets make footprints on the snow”. The snow that was another source of anxiety attack, is now sth she looks forward to & prays for! Truly romantic!!! Well-done writer.

Side Notes:

I know furuba is shoujo & it’s abt love, but C’mon! where did Nao/ Motoko come from??!! XDD Who is left without love interest? Kyo’s rejected fangirl loved by one of kyo’s buddies? The maids in love with Akito? Momiji? Who does Kimi love besides money? XD

Yuki once observed that kyo makes tohru happy with small things, Today he did the same! A broken piece of chalk.

Yuki/ Machi romantic scenes contrast Yuki/ tohru forced romantic scene at the earlier seasons. There is no lame cringy lines like “ I’ll kidnap you & go to a vacation” or kissing a ribbon. There is NO acting or pretentious lines. Here a piece of chalk did the trick, an understanding of her tears & a head pat, a promise to walk on snow together! Congratulations Yuki, You made it into romantic boyfriends category! XD. also, good writing!

The Bra scene is the real comedy in the ep.

Arisa’s “ kyon, we won’t forgive you if you hurt tohru” is gold cuz kyo WILL. When it’s time to confess he knew kyoko & she HATES him & doesn’t forgive him, tohru would be hurt! Even if she wasn’t in love with kyo!!! Knowing your beloved’s last words were hateful is painful!! Add to this that tohru loves kyo & would be struggling between forgiving him or not!! Add to this that kyo might NOT want to be forgiven!!

“ I won’t forgive you”. kyo’s haunting reminder that he’s unforgivable is now shared by kyoko, yuki, Hana & Arisa!! 

look, you might argue that furuba’s romantic writing might be a bit awkward with all sorts of romantic couples, age gaps, the need for everybody to be in love one way or the other & so on, but the traumatic behavioral writing is the best!!!!! I was never disappointed with how Takaya write abused traumatized children’s behavior. One of my fave scenes is yuki/ kyo in the stairs in se02 where kyo lashed out on yuki & yuki was over it. While that scene was rightfully celebrated for yuki’s triumphant attitude as he got over his trauma, I love it for the realistic trauma filled attitude of kyo, all charged with kyoko’s flashback! He’s in deep & he’s all by himself! Kyo will hurt tohru cuz he loves her just like how kazuma hurt him by forcefully taking his bracelet cuz he loves him. Kyo will be thinking it is for the best, who would want to be with someone that kyoko of all ppl hates!

 I’ll tolerate all the weird love couples in furuba, but the moment trauma is written weakly I’ll drop the show. There is NO way, kyo will confess kyoko’s lines then go “sorry abt that tohru, we’re good?” 

Back to Machi, I really hope that her trauma isn’t merely wrapped up cuz yuki loved her. Furuba was never abt love heals, it is abt love helps. We might not see more of her trauma for reasons of space, or not related to the current plot lines, but I really hope we hear her talk abt herself with yuki even few lines. Although, I feel that the focus now will be on setting her for yuki’s next stage in character development: honesty in the love confession. He’ll tell her abt the curse as the trailer hinted at. That’s their first love life struggle. But if I were to take a guess, it will be dealt with quickly like her trauma. She loves yuki dearly & as long as he walks with her in snow (human or rat, lol), it’s all good. <3

Kagura’s new style is love! she isn’t dressed overly cutely anymore, but had a more comfortably style & I love her hair! also her friendship with Isuzu! <3. I wish Isuzu would really know there are ppl worried abt her in her life. Haru isn’t the only one.

Akito put Isuzu in the cat room, didn’t she? The place she left is similar to the place young Kazum wandered to in se01, ep25. & those scissors....

I never thought that the mere sight of shigure’s face will disgust me. XD. I still find him so intriguing, but yeah need time to get over the fact that he slept with Ren & counted it even with Akito, then slept with Akito afterwards! EWWW! so disgusting & I’m here to see this drama escalate!

Yuki / Machi moment was interrupted! XD It’s not fun when it happened to you, yuki? XD.
