something that drives me insane on a relatively regular basis as a body jewelry understander is talking to people who have sensitive skin who are like "oh well I just can't wear any earrings without my ears getting inflamed" and I say "well what have you tried" and they say "well I've tried sterling silver and I've tried gold..." and it's like. ok. I don't know how gold and sterling somehow got spun by the jewelry industry as being especially good for sensitive skin but whenever I'm like "well have you tried implant grade titanium" they're always like "no....... but I've tried sterling silver... and it didn't work ..." like. I don't know how this narrative about sterling silver somehow got so strong but when they put pins in your fucking legs when you snap your leg in half are those pins made of sterling silver or are they made of implant grade titanium or surgical steel????????? The ghost boy floated infront on Batman. All he wanted was to offer this kid some help. He has been deffending this town for a little over two years now with no help. So Batman just thought offering some training and other teen heros to help would be nice. But all he was met with was a cold hard stare. It wasn't a lookxof hatred, or anger, just disappointment.
"What?" He asked. For once in his life he didn't get it. What did he mean? 'There are more of us' more half ghosts like him? Multiples of him?
"What I mean Batman, is there are far more teen heros than you think. There are so many kids who were left to deffend their homes by themselves. I'm in contact with plenty of people like me. I don't need your charity work. We dont need it," Phantom took a deap breth, "so many kids had to save the world while the Justice League sat back and did nothing. Ben Tennyson has been saving the world since he was ten, a child soldier and the only effective weapon the Plumbers have. The Ninja over in Norrisville was given his powers at fourteen. Max Steel was fused with an alien and born with nuclear levels of power. The list goes on bats. Kim Possible, Jenny, Generator Rex, Zak Saturday. We all did just fine without you and your League."
Batman was speechless. That many? That many kids left to deffend their homes? Phantom obviously seemed to have contact with them, maybe they help eachother out, but still. How did the Justice League not know?
Phantom disappeared and left Batman to ponder his words alone. How many world ending events did thease kids fight? How many of them did they fight alone? How much help did each of them have? Phantom only has a niche group of allies, how small are their support groups?
He'll have to research this when he returns to the bat cave. Hopefully he can get all thease kids get the help they need. Set up Zeta Tubes in their cities, and end this awful epidemic of teen heros.

Artist who went/is going to art school, but teachers ignored them/are never in class/just care about their favorites so they kind of had to learn things by themself and then go crawling like a worm to the professors and ask "like this?" And they grunt and nod instead of giving constructive criticism.

SLEEPOVER SATURDAY. what instrument would you play if you hadn't learned oboe. i wish i learned bassoon as a kid, youth orchestra would've been a lot easier for me if i had. i'm also picking up electric bass again but that's not really that difficult because at the of the day strings are strings yknow
so at my middle school we were required to pick and instrument to play in band (or strings) when we entered 5th grade, so my actual backup options were french horn or percussion (and i chose percussion purely because it was a cheat code to play More instruments). i sort of wanted one of my backups instead of oboe because someone had told me how delicate/easy to damage an oboe could be and it made me nervous. but i was the only kid in the grade who even remotely expressed interest in it, and really i had been hooked on oboe as My Instrument from the first time i heard it demo'd to us in music class. that was going to be my beast it was fated
although in theory i could have gotten away with not picking a band instrument at all but rather joining strings as a violin player because (sasha lore reveal) at that time i was actually in violin lessons. i was a violin player before i was an oboist. but i only played for like two years, i quit pretty quickly after i started oboe. too much to practice all at once. whether you consider that dodging a bullet or the opposite is a matter of perspective

#sasha answers#sleepover saturday#ask meme#cartridgeconverter#ty!#my modus operandi as a kid was basically if i had an opportunity to play an instrument i took it and ran with it#i started piano lessons when i was like 5 and played through high school#i played with a steel drum band afterschool in elementary.#i don't know why but steel drum was a weirdly popular music extracurricular in my area?#i mean it was still niche but the fact that multiple elementary schools had steel drums at all was weird. anyway#i also was playing guitar and violin by 4th grade#but once i got going on oboe and into middle school i really only did oboe and piano everything else kind of fell to the wayside#i did have a foray back into mallet percussion in high school though. mostly in jazz band#and EWI. electronic woodwind instrument. because we didn't have enough low brass so they gave me a tuba part and let me figure it out#also there were like 4 months where i attempted to play euphonium in like 11th grade lol#but once i hit high school it was really all oboe for me. well oboe piano and choir but in 10th grade i started youth orchestra#and that's when oboe got serious for me. and now i have a bachelors degree yippee#iirc one of the other reasons i quit violin was because i never wanted to hold the thing up while i played#because at that time i was going through my first puberty growth spurts and my body just Hurt All The Time lol.#i wonder how i'd take to it now if i tried#not that i'm going to though. if i were to pick up a string instrument now it'd be cello 100%

i’m bored so there will be a lot of random text posts today. anyway yday when i was really sad i put a tiny plush stingray that corey got me and put it in my pocket and forgot about it and then later when i sat down it i was like “what’s in my pocket?” and then it was a little tiny plush stingray and it made me so happy to have surprised myself that i cried happy tears instead of sad ones
