anyway i can see the vision for buddie in the future with this storyline… i have… thoughts on it… but i can see where they might take this i just hope they take it that way and don’t use it as a way to reiterate that eddie is straight because……. come on. if buck was heavily hinted as bi over the years, you can’t ignore eddie’s queerness being hinted at to and to only go for one over the other (after literally confirming it was originally supposed to be eddie with the queer arc this season) it would make no sense for them to not take this storyline there since they obviously see eddie’s queerness.

So here's what's really going down: This whole thing is just a tentative test of the RCM to market their coppos for more donations. It's all about humanizing the police force, baby. ever since i noticed eddie was looking a little... different at the hospital scene, i decided to do some research, and i came up with this (warning there are a lot of pictures of just eddie's eyes below the cut, don't say I didn't warn you)

but seriously, humor me a bit, i think i might be onto something here (what it is, i don't know). also thanks to @eddiediazismyhusband for help getting some of these pictures <3

we all know eddie diaz has heart eyes when it comes to evan buckley. it started the very first time they made amends, and maybe even in the first gym scene. a notable example is him watching clipboard buck (see below)

so this has been around for years, and it hasn't gone away. in fact, season seven opens with buck and eddie talking in the locker room, where it's revealed that buck and natalia broke up. this is where we get this look

we even see the heart eyes when he's talking to buck about how christopher is now a player, on top of him practically begging buck to talk to their his son (the res is bad, i couldn't find a better clip)

now, where am i going with this? i'm glad you asked

this is eddies eyes when buck came out to him, while he's reassuring buck

he's still got that heart eyes thing going on, but he looks almost... hurt, or sad. maybe even jealous?

then we get to the first scene with eddie and buck post coming out (not counting when they show up to the wedding, because there's not really a lot there, and they were probably too focused on chimney and being hungover)

this is how eddie looks at buck when he's showing him the outfit

there's something there, but there's also something missing. to me, it almost reads "look, i matched you, aren't you happy?"

and sure, i could be reading too into this, but here's another from the scene, after tommy gets there (once again bad res, sorry. but you can still see it)

i repeat, something is missing. eddie is purposely hiding his emotions. but why would he do that? especially when it's just the two of them...

lastly, let's look at eddie's face when buck comes out to the rest of the team

i've included the full face because i think it's important here

that's not a smile that meets the eyes. yes, he looks proud, but at the same time, almost all the light is gone from his eyes. we see the same thing when they hug after buck comes out to eddie

i don't know if he's doing it consciously or subconsciously, but eddie is locking his feelings up again, bit by bit. but you know when he doesn't lock his feelings up?
