My Intro Post!!
Hello and welcome to my blog!! My name’s Ari, but you can call me whatever idc. I’m a girl, a minor, an Aquarius if that matters to you and I have 2 younger brothers.
I lived in Australia for lots of my childhood however moved to Spain last year. I’ve done research and while different people seem to have different definitions of the term, I identify as Hispanic as I’m quite immersed in the Spanish culture, language, etc, never plan on leaving and have been raised like a Spanish kid (my parents have wanted to live here since they were kids so they’ve been preparing us for life here since we were newborn) even though I’m genetically Australian. If you believe I don’t fit the term idc that’s your opinion but this is how I identify.
I’ve been practicing witchcraft since late 2021 and believed in the Greek gods since I was a kid (because of PJO lol). I call myself a Greek pagan witch with animist and omnist beliefs, I believe the terms Hellenism and polytheism may apply but idk enough about them to use them to describe myself.
I started working with Aphrodite 4 days into my practice cuz I’m a bit silly however I’ve gotten more consistent and comfortable with my worship over time. Now working with her is just a part of my daily life, I love all her different epithets (I think is the word) she’s just so cool. I want to start working with King Hades and Queen Persephone in the future.
I’m trying to get better at note taking cuz I often forget. This blog is for saving notes #info, #paganism, #animism and #witchcraft stuff, I’ll post stuff related to #greek mythology under its own tag if not practitioner based, all deity/entity stuff is under its own tag (eg. #aphrodite, #hermes, #odysseus, #telemachus, etc).I also post related fandom stuff here like; #hades game, #pjo, #epic the musical, etc and stuff I’m more critical of like; #anti Madeline miller, #anti lore olympus under their own tags. My posts and asks are under #stariel posts and #stariel asks, all reblogs and queued are #stariel reblogs and #q, if I add a bit of my own input to a post it goes under #stariel convos, if I’m interacting with the community/mutuals it goes under #stariel community and #fave contains well all my fav posts.
I love spirit work and when I’m more experienced I plan on working with ghosts and animal spirits though currently I’m content just talking to my plants, house, divination tools and Aphrodite. I also want to start Ancestor Work soon. I’m a big fan of baneful protection magic and glamour/love magic. I’m pretty proud of my clair senses, intuition and divination abilities, I’ve always been an empath (my definition is; good at sensing energy and emotions) so I’ve put lots of effort into improving these skills which I’m quite happy with the strength of now.
You may also see special interest junk here (I’m neurodivergent) however I’ll try keep it at a minimum and it’ll only be posted if it is related to the topics of this blog (eg. Marvel comics [that and witchy stuff are my 2 big things] and also other interests like #Hermitcraft).
I’m a nickname person, I have some of the best nicknames ever (Stariel was one and now it’s my user for everything) so now I give everyone/thing nicknames lol. Just a warning, if we become friends I’m giving you 10,000 nicknames. I’m also a yapper as you can see below, irl I’ve learned to contain and summarise my paragraphs but on tumblr I let myself go wild and add as many irrelevant details/thoughts I have so I apologise in advance for the essays.
I personally believe hugely in free speech so there’s no DNI for this blog. Everyone is welcome as long as civil discussion is maintained no blatant straw manning/mud slinging if you want to debate me or someone else here on a topic make sure to be respectful about it, thanks.
And that’s about all I have to say right now, I seriously should make intros for my other blogs. Enjoy your stay!!

I think the gods will still work with people regardless of these things. They may not agree with the beliefs held by these people but as long as they’re not let’s say beating up minorities in the streets they won’t hate someone over their opinions even if those opinions are wrong. Everybody has different morals (there’s an especially big difference between the typical moral set in Ancient Greece vs. now and they still worshipped the gods) the same as everyone has different UPG about the gods so I believe that the gods will work with anyone (and the gods morals may also change from practitioner to practitioner). Also compared to the gods we’re teeny tiny little guys I just can’t really see the gods getting huffy with one specific person because they’re ’bigoted’ and wanted to worship them, I don’t think they’d really care (not enough to literally decline working with them anyways). Of course gods can and will say no to working with you but I don’t think they’re going to deny your request with the only reason behind it being ‘you have an atypical policial stance sorry:/‘. But of course this is just my UPG and my opinion, so feel free to form your own based on your experiences with the gods.
TLDR; I believe that the gods will love and care about you regardless of your beliefs for reasons specified above:)
I have a question that's been in my mind for some time, out of curiosity. Do deities have a moral code? Or certain people who they don't want to work with because of their own beliefs?
Maybe it depends on the deity, idk. Can a deity work with POC but also work with racist people? Or could Aphrodite work with homophobic people having so many LGBTQ+ practitioners and also being the mother of Hermaphroditus?
I know it would be really weird to be homophobic and work with Aphrodite, I know. But, do they follow this type of rules or something similar for them? Can a deity say no to you wanting to work with them because of politics, ethics, or something similar? Maybe not a human concept, but something along the lines.
If someone could answer me that'd be awesome, thxx ♥︎

I love being a polytheist so much.
Me and my mum visited the city today and Hermes kept sending signs to us all day, it made me so happy knowing he was with us.
At first I felt his presence while we were bussing in, I was kind of confused as I was listening to ‘Pomegranate Seeds’ and that’s Persephone’s song
Later a feather I was following with my eyes landed on my shoe while I was walking
On the way home we got the only 2 seats left on the bus (they were next to each other which was nice)
And all throughout the day mum kept getting texts about her driving exam in all the places she’d first been tested on it

“Hades just said don’t look back it’s one instruction not that hard-” NO, SHUT UP. THINK ABOUT IT, USING A METAPHOR HADES BASICALLY KIDNAPPED EURYDICE AND MADE ORPHEUS LEAVE WITHOUT HER. HE HAD A SILENCER GUN TO HER HEAD AND TOLD ORPHEUS TO TURN AROUND AND WALK AWAY WITH EARMUFFS ON. HE TOLD ORPHEUS THAT IF HE TURNED AROUND THAN HE’D SHOOT HER, BUT ORPHEUS WOULDN’T KNOW IF HE’D SHOT HER EARLIER ON THE JOURNEY, OR EVEN LET HER GO IN THE FIRST PLACE. OF COURSE HE’S GONNA TURN AROUND AS SOON AS HE’S IN THE LIGHT IT’S INSTINCTUAL TO CHECK THAT SHE’S OK NOW THAT HE’S OUT OF THE UNDERWORLD AND IF YOU WOULDN’T THAN YOU WOULDN’T HAVE SAVED HER FROM THE KIDNAPPER.
"my boyfriend would've never looked back like Orpheus-" SHUT UP. IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY, REALLY CLOSELY, THEY WERE WALKING FOR DAYS. AND WHEN YOU'RE WALKING THROUGH HELL FOR DAYS WITH NO COMMUNICATION, YOU'RE GOING TO LOOK BACK. BECAUSE YOU LOVE THEM AND WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE SAFE.

Hello. I've already read the Kingston Cycle, Half a Soul and I'm about to finish the Stariel books. Do you have more recommendations? Thank you in advance.
Oh absolutely!
A Matter of Magic, by Patricia C. Wrede (for cross-country Regency romps, rogues, magicians, spies, and Ladies of Quality)
A Marvellous Light, by Freya Marske (for murder and mystery and secret Edwardian wizardry, romance, grand old houses and creepy curses)
Spellbound, by Allie Therin (for forbidden love, found family, and frightening magic in 1920s New York)
Shades of Milk and Honey, by Mary Robinette Kowal (for frothy and impeccably evocative Regency magic)
Sorcerer to the Crown, by Zen Cho (for schemes both magical and mundane and the world of fairy crossing into the world of the tonne)
To Say Nothing of the Dog, by Connie Willis (for laugh-out-loud time travel shenanigans and questionable Victorian aesthetic choices)
Soulless, by Gail Carriger (for vampire assassins, werewolf aristocrats, interrupted tea time, and other terrible inconveniences which may beset a young lady)
A little darker:
The Magpie Lord, by KJ Charles (for semi-secret magical society, creepy family estate, steamy romance all in an Extremely Victorian Gothic setting)
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, by Susanna Clarke (clever and deeply atmospheric tour of a magical 19th century England, but definitely not romance)
Salt Magic, Skin Magic, by Lee Welch (for curses and magical bonds and frightening fairies)
Widdershins, by Jordan L Hawk (for Gilded Age mystery and romance featuring Lovecraftian horror and humor)
More fantasy:
Uprooted, by Naomi Novik (for fairytale magic and whimsy, adventure and romance and creepy trees)
Seducing the Sorcerer, by Lee Welch (for wizard fashion, romance and humor and whimsical magic)
Stardust, by Neil Gaiman (for wild romps in the fairyland next door, alternately humorous and haunting)
More historical:
The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting by KJ Charles (for saucy Regency romance and determined social scheming)
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons (for dry humor, wacky hijinx, and extended family shenanigans)
Hither Page or The Missing Page by Cat Sebastian (village and manor house mysteries respectively, featuring lots of queer romance and found family with a dash of jaded post-war espionage)
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith (for yearning and laughs and first love and an eccentric family living in an increasingly run down castle)
A little farther from the brief, but might be worth checking out On Vibes:
The Left Handed Booksellers of London, by Garth Nix
The Chronicles of Chrestomanci, by Diana Wynne Jones
His Majesty's Dragon, by Naomi Novik (more Regency fantasy, but full on Age of Sail adventure rather than comedy of manners, romance, or secret magic)
Among Others, by Jo Walton
Arabella of Mars, by David D. Levine
A Natural History of Dragons, by Marie Brennan
It also sounds like a Georgette Heyer or Jeeves and Wooster binge would be really fun right now!

In my world, post epilogue Tav and Astarion would go on an adventure to find the cure for Astarion's vampirism. Tav would learn the Wish Spell and Astarion would choose to become mortal again so he could spend the rest of his life growing old with Tav. And because they are both full-blooded elves, they still have a very long lifespan to enjoy life.
Tav would give birth to Stariel and Tavron Ancunín and Astarion would be a caring and loving father who spoils his children.
Astarion would shed tears of joy because it would be the happiest moments of his life. 200 years of misery would be compensated by many centuries of a fulfilling life and happiness with his true love Tav.
Astarion would die first since he is older than Tav, but they would promise to find each other again in their next reincarnation. Tav and Astarion's graves would be placed next to each other. A contrast to their other versions being the Ascendant vampire lord and his dark consort.
In their next life, they would meet again and fall in love. Because they are fated lovers. Aeterna amantes. Lovers forever. That's the reason why Tav fell first and Astarion fell harder within the two tendays of knowing each other after the nautiloid crash.
