Jonathan rolled his eyes. "Like you don't." He thought for a minute, contemplating wether to say this or not, but he decided to. "While I was in California, I also had gay sex for the first time."

Steve's eyes widened. "What?" he laughed.

"Yeah, my best friend, Argyle. He and I do it sometimes to, you know, blow off steam."

Steve continued laughing.

"What's so funny?" Jonathan asked. "Gonna make fun of me for being a queer?"

"Nah," Steve shook his head, "I find it funny because Eddie, that trash goblin, he and I..."

Jonathan gasped. "You didn't."

"Well not if you poke fun at me for it."

Thinking stargyle thoughts. Steve and Argyle who have a strange, relaxed kind of friendship - the kind of friendship that comes from being in love with your guy best friend and recognizing that longing in another person, finding comfort in each other when they can't find it in the person they want.

Steve wants Eddie, Argyle wants Jonathan, they both believe that they're unattainable, and so they confide in one another and that familiarity grows into something more, something soft and sweet - not permanent, they both know they aren't in love, but there's a bone-deep comfort that surrounds the two of them.

It's all easy affection, cuddling on movie nights and Steve playing with Argyle's hair, slow, lazy makeouts when the gang all hang and smoke, giggling together and disappearing to Steve's room, being playful and sweet and not noticing the way Jonathan and Eddie watch the two of them, not recognizing the jealousy in their expressions, too distracted with one another 💕

Spicy Six -Ber Month Fanworks Challenge

It's that time again! I'm so excited to host the Third Annual Spicy Six Fanworks Challenge, with a twist this year! Rather than winter-specific prompts, we have a mix of both fall and winter prompts. With all of the fun October events happening, this felt like the best way to capture both seasons. The past couple of years hosting the seasonal challenges has been such a blast, and I can't wait to see what people come up with this time around!

Here are the rules: 

It's a Spicy Six challenge so of course, you must include someone from the Spicy Six (Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, Eddie, Steve, Argyle). Don't feel pressured to include everyone, of course. You can be ship-specific or general. Chrissy is also included! (I know that makes seven– I just don't want to change the title, honestly.)

There are two links below, one for dialogue prompts and one for more general prompts. There will be a claims process, but I've decided to make it easier for everyone (myself included) and will not be limiting how many people can claim the same prompt this year. In years past, it's led to a lot of back and forth trying to choose second options, third options, etc. and there's more than enough creativity in this fandom for people to make vastly different interpretations of the same prompt!

To claim a prompt, simply shoot me a DM with which prompt you'd like from what list (i.e.: prompt 6 from dialogue prompts'). Since I'm not limiting prompts, don't worry if I don't get right back to you!

One prompt per person. You're welcome to use as many as you like, but you can only claim one.

No restrictions for fanart, and no word count minimum or maximum for fics. Long fics, ficlets, drabbles, all are welcome.

Posting will run from November 15th through December 31st. Additional posting details here!

When he rolled his van into Hawkins after days on a saving the world road trip, Argyle didn't expect to have his heart pop out of his chest for a second time. But he parked at the address Jonathan told him and right there, ready to receive them was a whole clan of people. Jonathan was immediately embraced by the legendary Nancy. And Will, El, and Mike all had friends coming to hold them tight. Argyle was by himself and he noticed the others that were hanging back too.

Well color him mesmerized.

Steve didn't recognize the man walking up to him with the dopey look on his face but he knew beauty when he saw it.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"W,what's your name?"

"Steve", he answered, suddenly breathless, so Argyle could be forgiving for mishearing him.

"Did you say Eve?"

Robin, who had been there the whole time was giving them both odd looks. "Actually he said St-"

"I can be Eve", Steve said, quick as lightning.

Steve, when he was very young, was lucky enough to travel with his parents. His favourite trip will forever be the three week stay in California, where he met another boy his age and got along with him better than he thought he ever would.

He doesn't immediately recognize Argyle post s4, but there's something strangely familiar about him. He's a little surprised that, when he asks, Argyle remembers him too. He's mostly overjoyed because it turns out Argyle had a childhood crush on him too.

He looks at Eddie the same way because he's also just as romantically in love with him as he is with Nancy. He's definitely in love with Jonathan. And if he met Argyle and Chrissy he would look at the same way that he looks at Nancy and Eddie. Steve is the most polyamorous man alive.
