Huge recent/upcoming wins that make my heart so happy and I am so grateful for:
• A series I'm in won in its category at Hollyshorts!! HUGE!! A really big deal!!
• A short film I'm in won in its category at a festival in Portland!! HUGE!!
• Daiso restocked lilikoi juice, so naturally I bought 6 cans... 😌 If you know, you know.
• Mom got me dairy free rice pudding and dairy free tapioca pudding to celebrate the career wins 🥹 which made me feel so loved.
• Going to the coast this week with my bestie, visiting my favorite Oregon beaches and having brunch at my favorite place.
• One of my online besties forever 🫂 sent me the sweetest, most thoughtful gifts. 🥹
• Planning to meet up with another online bestie very soon! 🥳
• My cats are both so happy and healthy. 🥹🩵🤏 They make everything worthwhile.
• My body has been recovering SO WELL from my surgery. I had already been so optimistic, but the results so far have been life-changing — and I'm just over a month post-op seeing and feeling these results.
• My skin has also been so incredibly clear ever since my surgery. I'm guessing that has to do with healing one of my ovaries, and also how much lower my stress in general has been since surgery (I feel so much better. Not perfect, but god I feel like I can breathe!).
• Since I've been feeling great, I've been able to keep up with taking care of my garden. 🥹 It's beautiful and thriving. My pepper plants are especially stunning.
• I've been baking so much! Recent new recipes I've tried and loved: passionfruit pound cake, passionfruit poppyseed muffins, and dark chocolate zucchini bread with walnuts and white chocolate chips.
• A smaller, but still a major win for me: Found a movie I've been trying to hunt down a physical copy for a while and I got it secondhand in mint condition at a secondhand bookstore for $6. Amazing. Movie night with Jess is going to be even more spectacular.

Kinda wild how most people generally recognize that the "too sick to go to school, too sick to watch tv/play games" mindset our parents had was bullshit but still impose essentially the exact same rules on disabled adults and scrutinize them for enjoying low-energy hobbies while being too fatigued or in pain to work a full time job (or any job at all)

Spin the wheel. That's who's trying to kill you.
Spin the wheel again. That’s who’s trying to protect you.
(If you have zero idea about the name you got, spin until you see someone you recognize.)
(Six months ago, I did a version of this poll with about five hundred options on the spinner wheel. For this one, I more than doubled it.)

It literally makes me feel like I'm losing my mind that almost no one in the global north on here will speak about, or even react to, the fact that the US is literally funding Israeli owned death traps for starving families.
The United States and Israel have made it impossible for all actual aid to enter Gaza. Then, private contractors from the United States created the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), with Israeli support, to "take over" aid distribution. They are preventing aid distribution by all humanitarian groups in Gaza that distribute aid in coordination with the U.N., and replacing them with GHF. These GHF sites are set up in collaboration with Israeli military to lure in starving families and gun them down.
Please donate to Nader's family so they can afford food and do not meet this fate. His campaign is #4 on the Gazavetters list and was one of the earliest to be vetted. Lina Al-Safadi, Nader's cousin, receives the donations from the fundraiser and transfers them to Nader's family in Gaza. This is a very safe, trusted fundraiser, and they rely on it to survive.

Israel has constructed severe famine through continuous bombing of infrastructure, months of blockades, and sabotaging efforts for humanitarian groups to distribute aid. 98.5% of Gaza's cropland has been destroyed or made inaccessible by Israel's ecocide.
Thousands of people have been brutally injured or killed by the Israeli military and mercenaries at the GHF death traps since they opened just a couple months ago.
90% of Gaza's 2.4 million residents have been displaced, and the death toll since 2023 has surpassed 61,000, many of whom were children and babies. The Israeli military occupation controls 75% of Gaza, and on August 7, Israel's security cabinet approved Netanyahu's plan to occupy the rest of Gaza.
This stage of genocide has received public criticism from many, even including some allies of Israel such as the British Prime Minister, the French Foreign Minister, the German Chancellor, the European Council President, and the European Commission President. As of writing this, this criticism has not translated into any meaningful change in policy. These leaders think statements can distract from their bloody hands while they still fund and directly benefit from the genocidal settler-state of Israel.
UN high commissioner for human rights released a statement saying: "The Israeli Government's plan for a complete military takeover of the occupied Gaza Strip must be immediately halted." But what is the UN doing to empower Palestine?
We must not place undue weight on statements. What matters is action. Israel's access to the tools of genocide must be severed, and Palestine's access to the resources of survival must be given immediately.
My friend Fadel needs urgent medical attention. He survived the bombing of his home, but has not been able to afford travel to a hospital that has the resources to remove the shrapnel from his body. He is in constant pain, and needs monthly medication for his disability. The cost of food is high, and his family can only afford bread with a consistent stream of donations. They are starving.
Fadel's fundraiser was vetted by @gazavetters (line #197) and shared by @90-ghost (here).
I talk to him often, and I can tell you that the number of donations he receives each week directly impacts whether he can access medicine and food to relieve his pain and keep him alive. I can also tell you that he is a very kind young man with a compassionate heart.
Please help him. He needs support. Please consider donating to his campaign, reblogging this post and scheduling it throughout the week so others see it, or sending him a kind message at @fadel-dani.
Thank you <3
