Below is some tidbits about the great Heavenly Thunderer, the Fulminating One: JAMIYUN KULISA.

Let me tell you what happens at the moment when Lightning and Thunder strike and resound at the same time. It is there where you will find Jamiyun Kulisa, it is there you will find indiscriminate justice, Jamiyun Kulisa’s God-Searing Lightning.

In Gatusanon and Ba-enon Anitu, Jamiyun Kulisa is a great god, one of the greatest ones—many villages and some cities even consider him the Supreme God of Heaven, creator of the earth, one and the same with Siwa and is also the Himaya-Buddha.

He cannot be bound by petty mortal morality: his justice is as absolute as the lightning bolt. The Fulminating One sees all under the sky, for he is the Heavenly Thunder Father. It was he that struck down the undulating dragon Waritra, who threatened to swallow the entirety of heaven whole. It was he that punished the first Man for killing a shark with his lightning bolt. In the islands of Ramasa and more commonly in the cities in the margins of Gatusan’s mandala, he is known as Makapdan Rangit. 

The name Rangit still resounds: it means heaven. In Ramasa, great datu are sometimes given the title of Rangit. There have only been 5 Rangit so far.

Devotees and balyan of Jamiyun Kulisa always carry with them items that have been struck by lightning. These anting are filled with Jamiyun Kulisa’s Merit—wearing them is sure to grant good fortune in every day life. Many Heavenspears and Senapati are devoted to Jamiyun Kulisa or at least know him by name, and remember tenets and teachings from Jamiyun Kulisa’s balyan. 

When Jamiyun Kulisa is channeled by a balyan, the balyan’s trance dance is especially erratic, similar to lightning, and their hair is permanently bleached lightning-white. If in a war, a properly devoted chief balyan who has done the proper rituals can even channel Jamiyun Kulisa’s Scathing Lightning, which bleaches and then annihilates those deemed unworthy by Jamiyun Kulisa’s justice. And it is truly justice, in Gatusan, that Jamiyun Kulisa is a god of. Not law or retribution, but justice.

Spirit houses dedicated to Jamiyun Kulisa very often bring offerings of wine and blood encrusted blades, along with the usual offerings to a spirit house. One thing Jamiyun Kulisa hates when offered to are rare sealife—sharks, deep sea eels, serpents. “THOSE DO NOT BELONG TO HIM,” their balyan once clarified, the smell of charred flesh wafting from their mouths. “THOSE BELONG TO THE SEA, TO HIS RIVAL AND LOVER AND WIFE AND ENEMY.”

Jamiyun Kulisa’s Lover—sometimes his daughter in more northern Gatusanon beliefs—is INDIRA SUGA, the great Mother of Light, the Goddess of the Stars and the Sun, she who lives in every burning candle, in every smokeless flame. In official Kangdayanon tenets, Indira Suga is Jamiyun Kulisa’s primary spouse after having been divorced from the Sea, who is known only as Sri Maguayen.

In the root cities of Apumbukid near Apu Dayawa itself, some believe that Jamiyun Kulisa is the Mad Vanquisher King sent by Raktaparameswara, the Red Supreme Lord, avatar of Batara. This is why he is known as the Thunderbolt, as he arrived in the Footsteps of the Gods from Jamiyun Kulisa’s Arrows (which, he himself caused in a great war against the Baikhan Foundational Goddess). He fought with arrows larger than islands, and he himself was a god amongst men. What else is history made of but gods?

Akai claims a lineage from Jamiyun Kulisa: they say that the great Supreme Lord settled in the Footsteps of the Gods before Jaris Akai arrived, and he subjugated the lands. When Jaris Akai arrived, Jamiyun Kulisa returned to his rightful place in the Lower Skies as a Vassal-Mediator of Baginda Sumongsuklay, granting Jaris Akai the needed knowledge to conquer the Footsteps of the Gods from Siga.

Virbanwan Sampalataya has syncretized Jamiyun Kulisa into another Lightning War God that is a refraction of Makaubos, one of the Almighty Trinity, the Destroyer of All Things.

Backstory

Maya was born into a priestly lineage in a tribal confederation that lived near the wyld, a faeblooded child who was brought up in a temple sanctuary, kept away from violence and conflict to keep her ritually innocent. This sheltered upbringing came to an abrupt end when her community was destroyed by the Realm for rebellion and she was enslaved as a courtesan. Her attempts to break free in a second resistance movement years late cost Maya her infant child when the Realm discovered her involvement. She later contracted sepsis in the satrap’s dungeons, dying alone and forgotten.

As she lay dying, Maya cried out to not let her death be in vain. The Bishop of The Chalcedony Thurible answered, and The Seraph of Promised Silence was born from Maya’s death. It was there, in that sanity blasting moment of clarity, she heard the Whispers of the Neverborn. Now, the Whispers are always with her.

Having lost everything twice over, the Seraph is thoroughly convinced of The Shining Way’s message that life is suffering and that salvation will be found in the reunification of all souls in The Great Devouring. Her motivation is fundamentally compassionate, but twisted by her experiences and the Whispers of the Neverborn into something intense and alien. Her own private heresy is that once the flawed Creation is destroyed a new, better world will eventually emerge from the ashes.

OC-tober Day 1: Kisser going about an average day

So I've never done one of these before, but I've been working on a Star Wars fic recently with a higher than usual number of OCs. The fic isn't posted yet, but I thought I might put a few of these out there. The original post is here by @icannotreadcursive .

Kisser liked days in hyperspace. It made a lot of the Vode antsy, not having a battle to fight, but there were still plenty of things to do. Even though he didn’t have a particular designation like the medics or pilots, there was always stuff to be done—work or sparring or even just kicking back with a novel downloaded before the jump. The guarantee of non-engagement, no comms from off ship or surprise combat, was its own kind of intoxication. 

This particular day, Kisser had wandered down to the engine room to bother Melt. 

Melt was sitting cross-legged in the center of a mandala of Mouse droid parts, cooing into the innards of a half assembled droid. “I found it, sweetie, don’t worry. You just got a big hunk of goo in your rotors. I bet you were cleaning the mess again, huh?”

The droid warbled an affirmative, sounding for all the world like a massif getting scritches in just the right spot.

Melt laughed, and Kisser related to the droid. Her laugh was the best.

“Hope I’m interrupting something, vod’ika,” Kisser teased, leaning against a large metal tank. It wasn’t labeled fuel, so he was probably safe. 

Melt snorted, “No one else to bother today, ori’vod?” 

“I’m technically on call but,” Kisser shrugged, “no one had anything for me to do. The Negotiator barely had a scratch on her after the last fight.”

“Toss me that brush,” she said, gesturing to a thin toothbrush looking thing on a nearby shelf. “Poor Teethree has some rations in its rotors.”

Kisser winced in sympathy and tossed the brush. Melt caught it without looking, nestling Teethree in her lap gently and procuring a bottle of cleaner from behind her back.

Teethree rattled off the exact coordinates of the rations, which had apparently fallen behind a cabinet and then gotten hydrated when the sprinkler system had gone off back when they had taken some bad hits near Naboo.

Kisser and Melt made appropriate noises of sympathy that it hadn’t been found sooner.

They chatted about Melt’s favorite holodrama after that, which kept them occupied through Teethree’s cleaning and reassembly. Eventually, they dragged themselves over to the mess for dinner. 

Hyperspace days were the best, in a predictable sort of way.

Last day with my coworker. Just talked about Star Wars all day and long term goals for administering the park. She’s off tomorrow, but said she’d come over to “see her buddy” on his last day. It was nice.

Carlene and the memorialist were both out sick, though Carls is home from the hospital finally and drinking bone stock. The counselors are a little cold. The sales manager is friendly, but has been roughing up my books because he doesn’t like the page lifters. Son of a bitch. So, I noticed he never roughed up the books with the page lifters that don’t stick out from the ends. He doesn’t know they’re there yet! So he’s not tearing up those books. So, I replaced them with the flush ones so he won’t fuck with them, and hid them in the greenhouse with Harper so she can put them back when I’m gone, in a month or so.

She also noticed that the lot card library we organized and alphabetized has already been pretty fucked up, and her project to retrieve cards from the files, clean up the whole file library, is already getting fucked with. I told her once I go, I should calm down a little.

I assume once I’m gone, my position might just be abolished. It’s not supposed to be a secretarial/receptionist position. But it becomes one, because of the various tensions. So when I’m gone, the counselors will find themselves doing all the work I did for them so they could just make money. An assistant sales manager should be doing that job, and another admin doing the other half of my job.

After tomorrow, all that is erased like a mandala.
