The Enterprise-G crew finds out that their beloved Captain Seven has really weird tastes and hobbies and 98% the Voyager crew is to be blamed for it.
Holodeck novels? Captain Seven seldom joins in. The crew thinks Cmdr. Raffi has the most off the wall costumes until Captain Seven strides in with her own unhinged costume. Her philosophy learned from Tom Paris and Kathryn Janeway: Go big or go home.
A game of velocity?
The Senior Staff quickly learn that the Captain is competitive and a Smug winner.
Captain Seven almost takes Dr Ohk’s head off in a game of Velocity. And then someone uncovers that Admiral Janeway was her Velocity partner for years. They have refrained from asking Captain Seven from joining since.
Spelunking and rock climbing? Becomes a competitive extreme sport. They learned Captain Seven used to rock climb with legendary Chief Engineer B’Elanna. Sidney is even more invigorated with this news. Raffi has to make them promise they won’t do any more extreme climbing.
Captain Seven is an excellent gourmet cook. She even cooked her senior bridge staff a celebratory dinner. Everybody loved it and won't stop talking about it.
But Seven's own personal comfort food? Garbage taste. Raffi makes the mistake eating Seven’s comfort soup and nearly spittakes. It’s a variation of Leola root stew.
Someone suggests meditation to her. Seven returns with Regeneration is the Best Meditation and helpfully recommends cortical implants.
The person never suggests meditation again. To this day they can’t tell if Captain Seven was joking.

Still genuinely waiting for Star Trek: Nepotism to fly.
Seven of Nine: Captain, who has definitely killed people for less.
Raffi Musiker: XO who has also killed people for less, plus Klingon training. She’s an ex-spy so you can’t get away with anything. If you can’t find her on the bridge for some strange reason, check the captain’s bed.
Sidney LaForge: Pilot, Engineer, Mariner with a better Starfleet pedigree and fewer disciplinary issues, a god among Boimlers. May or may not be boinking the son of two Admirals.
Alandra LaForge: chief engineer, because despite being a very young lieutenant her brilliance is amplified by virtue of her mother being exactly who we think she is.
Elnor: chief of security and telling it like it is. Has also also killed people for less. Will never let Seven or Raffi out of his sights on away missions. Sees the Enterprise as the ultimate lost cause.
Kestra Troi-Riker: chaos child cadet whose truest strength is science, despite becoming the de-facto counselor for half the ship. Speaks 13 languages no one has ever heard of. Speaks five more you have. Fluent in curse words for all of them.
Jack Crusher: captain’s special boy. A terrible influence on Kestra. Frighteningly competent at averting disaster. Is usually the one who creates the disaster.
Also starring:
A CMO who is tired and over all of their shit.

Patrick Stewart Had to Be Wrong for Picard to Succeed | Star Trek | IGN
It pains me to say this but… Patrick Stewart was soooo wrong about Star Trek: Picard. Like, somehow all of his instincts about how to bring Jean-Luc back were just off. But it was only those missteps, and the lessons learned from them, that have allowed the show to finally succeed now, in Picard Season 3.
Tumblr media
Listen, I love Stewart. Like, loooove him. But he got it pretty, pretty wrong when he decided to bring back Picard. Which, ironically enough, has turned out to be a good thing for the show in its final season. It all boils down to one thing: If you’re gonna do the nostalgia play, you gotta commit. And Patrick Stewart did not commit. At least not for the first two seasons. After saying goodbye to the character in Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002, the actor would spend the next 15 years having to answer questions about whether or not Picard would be back one day. Cut to late 2017/early 2018. Star Trek: Discovery had relaunched the franchise on the small screen, and executive producer and new Star Trek overlord Alex Kurtzman was trying to convince Stewart to come back as Jean-Luc for a new show.
Tumblr media
Of course, the actor would eventually agree to return, but only under certain conditions… And it was those conditions that would lead to big problems for the show.
Two of Stewart’s original demands may not seem like much at first glance, but they would have a snowball effect on the trajectory of what would become Star Trek: Picard. Patrick Stewart on Graham Norton in 2020: "No uniform and no Enterprise." No uniform and no starship Enterprise. That basically means no Starfleet, right? So, taking that to its natural conclusion, it also pretty much means no Next Generation. And no cast from The Next Generation. Indeed, Michael Chabon, the Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist who was a writer and EP on Season 1 of the show, said in 2020 that the plan when designing the series was that “It was not ever going to be The Next Generation Part Two.” Which, sorry Michael, but Picard Season 3 is now 100% The Next Generation Part Two.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, what Picard was missing all this time was the crew that helped make the character the icon that he is: Riker, Data, Crusher, Worf, Geordi and Troi. Because as great as Jean-Luc is, these guys are also amazing. Watch the full video for all the details on why Patrick Stewart had to be wrong for Picard Season 3 to succeed…

Is Vision's new show at the expense of 7 of 9's Star Trek: Legacy?
Is Vision's new show at the expense of 7 of 9's Star Trek: Legacy?
The Hollywood Reporter has news of a Vision spin-off to Wandavision. Paul Bettany will be back following the events of Wandavision, and at this point we can only speculate about other appearances. Wanda aka The Scarlet Witch? We do know the show is expected on Disney+ in 2026, so plenty of time for news. Terry Matalas (Star Trek Picard) is the showrunner. What does this mean for 7 of 9? I’ve…

Star Trek: Legacy by Patrick Collins
A 22 minute Recut of ‘Star Trek-The Motion Picture’ set to Daft Punk’s modern original score for ‘Tron: Legacy’. I always thought the two film’s scores were very reminiscent of one another and I wanted to use that to give this recut a more updated feel while still maintaining some aspect of the pacing and staging of the original (very long) film and it’s big special effect scenes.
This is very good.

I can't stop thinking of this post proposing Tricia Helfer as a recurring antagonist for Captain Seven of Nine.
A sort of dark mirror/foil.
For Sisko he had Eddington, for Janeway it was Ransom.
It would be crunchy and interesting if Seven's dark mirror is a former Borg-like, from the generation of Borg like Seven was, but taking her cause to the extreme.

Caprica!Six vs Seven of Nine.
It would be so interesting and crunchy.
