I’m a fanfic reader (just plain and true)

But I need to know what is up with people writing bones calling Kirk kid? I’m not like super upset about it but it is strange. I’m just asking is it like an AOS thing because the TOS and the movies never make it a point of making bones like that. Can someone please explain? I have not seen AOS yet sooo…..
