Can timelords undergo surgery? Or would this trigger a regeneration?
Can Time Lords undergo surgery?
Absolutely. There are just a few notes you need to think about before you can confidently slice into your Gallifreyan. 🔪🩸
🩺Surgical Overview
💉 Anaesthesia Requirements: Time Lords need higher anaesthetic dosages than humans. The exact amount varies based on their current physiological state and any peculiarities of their current regeneration, but roughly speaking, it's about 2x normal. If you don't get this right, you risk an overdose that can disable regeneration, or ineffective sedation, where they appear asleep but are actually still awake ...
🪨 Enhanced Physical Durability: Gallifreyans have denser skin and muscle tissues, which can make surgical incisions much harder. Surgical teams might need specialised equipment that is sharper and more durable than standard tools, and surgeons must be skilled in handling these resilient tissues to avoid unnecessary damage and ensure clean, precise incisions.
🩹 Rapid Healing: Be fast! The rapid healing abilities of Time Lords mean that surgical operations need to be fast to avoid the complications associated with rapidly closing incisions, and post-operative care needs to be aggressive and meticulously planned to manage healing processes that could otherwise lead to complications like improper tissue regeneration.
🔍 Detailed Anatomical Knowledge: Know your Gallifreyan. Time Lords have different internal systems. Surgeons need a deep understanding of their anatomy to avoid critical mistakes.
🔬 Use of Technology: If being performed by humans, standard monitoring equipment isn't wholly sufficient for Gallifreyans. Modified or specially calibrated devices are necessary to assess vital signs and physiological responses accurately.
🌐 Note on Elective vs. Emergency Surgeries
Elective Surgeries: For non-urgent procedures, extensive pre-surgical planning is crucial to anticipate and prepare for the unique challenges of Gallifreyan biology.
Emergency Surgeries: In urgent cases, the medical team must be highly trained to make rapid decisions considering the Gallifreyan's unique physiology under pressure.

20, 22, &25 for the choose violence ask game :-)
20 part of canon you found tedious or boring
The amount of hand-wringing over property crime (in 90s comics in particular) gets old fast.
I’m also not a huge fan of the fab five, which may or may not be surprising? They’re too much of a sausage fest and I need to see WOMEN DOING THINGS if I’m expected to be invested in the long term. The NTT lineup will always be my standard because (1) it was the first American comic I ever read; and (2) Raven and Kory are my favorite titans.
22 your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
There are so many ways I could answer this—I think fanon dominance and the sprawl of DC comics means that most of what’s interesting about canon goes by the wayside tbh—but I’m picking the situation between Bruce, Dick and Harvey. I just like everything about it. Upfront, I really admire the amount of effort Dixon et al. put into making that event feel like a concrete, meaningful part of the Dick’s biography rather than a one-off retcon by referencing it across multiple comics and storylines. It’s an unusually clean backstory addition, especially given how opaque Dick’s post-crisis Robin years are.
The decision to make the villain who hurt Dick the worst as a kid—and he’s a very little kid in that story, so, so tiny—his guardian slash mentor slash partner slash father’s former best friend was incredibly bespoke to begin with. It’s the sickest choice they could have made, which means it’s a winner with me.
And then I the way Dark Victory developed Dick into a sort of legacy character for Harvey, as the person who represents hope and embodies optimism for Bruce. It’s so good, golden boy vs. former golden boy.* I love the specificity it layers onto Harvey’s resentment of Dick, which already had a distinctly personal flavor as far back as Prodigal—he’s not the Joker confusing Tim for Jason and assuming the kid he beat to death came back, you know? He knows exactly who Dick is in spite of the fact that he’s now an adult in a different costume. I love that Dick doesn’t think Harvey is as redeemable as Bruce does and has implied to Harvey’s face(s?) that he believes Harvey was always a bad person deep down. I love that Bruce never seems to reflect on any of this outside of Dark Victory, where’s he’s very explicitly aware of the continuity between the two.
Of course I’d be remiss not to mention that this is the subject of one of my all time favorite fanfics, but for the most part it gets very little air play among fans.
*which also a notable aspect of Dick’s more popular antagonism with Slade. The inciting incident for Slade’s fixation on Dick was his realization that Dick reminded him of himself as a young man, and he grows more and more resentful of Dick as he ruins his own life in spite of initially getting along with him quite well.
25 common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
Am I allowed to say all of them? lol? I mean I’m pretty sick of complaints about fatherhood in general, who is or is not a father and to whom, whether or not they’re a good father. Above all else, though, I’m tired of the way nominally progressive fans pick apart the work of any author who strays from the path of white male cishetero righteousness. This is about Devin Grayson obviously but it’s also true of the way people talk about Grant Morrison. They’re less unfairly maligned than Grayson, but I still don’t think they can reasonably be blamed for making a bunch of characters who were based off of a *Fu Manchu movie* racist. Insert astronaut meme here, you know the one.

the adventure's of puss in boots
1.1 9 years old, tv show, but not bad in animation quality (at least from the . definitely themes that the last wish touch on as well (of course that'll be the strongest point of comparison). love that the fight in episode 1 ends with a massive bluff "i can't defeat all of you, but i can defeat one. so which one of you will die?"
1.2 travel through different horrific lands. "yes, my friend, this is going to suck". the kingdom of darkness: just a dark screen a noises of people stumbling, and then doing it multiple times. the humour is spot on. that's a damn cool sphinx design, and telling us something about the character while not being overly obvious while in 3d show based on a movie? now that's surprising. sad that she's not in the next one, probably never to return, which makes the quality of design even more surprising.
1.3 you know, it takes some skill to make a funny "i hate my wife" joke, but they pulled it of. "i can never say no to a woman" "please pay your bar tab" "no" have i pointed out that this show nails the humour yet? puss vs ninja's? funny. but apparently not enough. puss vs teenage overly buff ninja pigs? now we're talking. also this show loves being dark in it's humour. how how the mean lady is apparently often crying. i wonder if that'll ever get depth, or is ever mentioned again instead of just being one dark joke.
1.4 "what's it like inside your head?" "wet and bloody".... i mean you're not wrong. at this point i'm just trying to convince people to watch the show because the humour is great. "it's not scary, it's just a bag stuffed with old dolls' heads" so many blink and you'll miss it jokes. why does dismemberment follow me everywhere? seriously what the fuck is up with that? why is it suddenly everywhere? at least it's clean and well cared for. this old guy be horny, in a kidshow. how is this a 2015 show? "you are crazy. but this is not new information" "nope". also recurring villain maybe?
1.5 standard episode: life here is too boring and an interesting old friend comes to steal the hero, but turns out to be a villain. will they play it straight (probably, he's designed as a villain), or will they do something more interesting. way too deep a thought for a short scene: so the orphanage is putting on a fake adventure, the costunes are brought out, and the buys very shortly argue over who gets to be a princess, until it's revealed that everyone who wants to can be a princess. here's what makes it so interesting: there is no joke outside of "the intrinsic funniness of buys wanting to be princesses". now while this could of course be setup for transphobic jokes later this honestly feels like it's just scene setting, just quaint town life, and the opposite of transphobic. i'm sure we won't see a trans character in this show (probably the closest being a queer coded villain) but this is nice. a simple message that everyone gets to be a princess if they want. again very cool monster design. like i want to steal this for my dnd game good. kind of a giant geko with a huge mouth and a lure like some fish have but with a fake pretty lady looking thing instead. my point of comparison is the kong-fu panda tv show which has the issue that it was extremely limited to always using the same assets. this show keeps bringing out amazing new designs every episode so far. also the message is damn strong. also neat that the standard plot was only really plot setup, it's never actually part of the plot, it never really comes into play. and for a boring plot now following up can be the best thing. the joke is that everyone wanted to be a princes. nothing about gender, just everyone wanted to be the same thing, nice. seriously, how come i never heard anything of this show? 2015. i'm pretty sure i watched some cartoons in 2015. did it never make it's way on dutch tv? i mean i've also never seen anyone talk about it online, something i think i'll have to correct at some point.
1.6 softpaws? nope, just a black cat. also the return of the sphinx which makes me happy. interesting that we get the more visually interesting sphinx sister first. so i've been watching a lot of TBSkyen and now want to kind of do a visual interpretation video like he often does on these two sisters. how the firsts inks and piercings make her read kind of Egyptian, alongside the naked cat stylings, while also indicating individuality and complexity, and how the lack of those in her sister suggests that she's simpler, which is true. one tells riddles, the other just tries to kill you. fuck why is this show so full of great dnd ideas. many magical fountains, each with different effects, like reverse gravity, talking backwards, and needing to say a word to undo it, which is hard with talking backwards, or induces fall damage after falling upwards for a while. fuck it, list time: fountain of invisible spiders, fountain of nausea, fountain of fire, fountain of itchy feet, just a regular fountain.
1.7 this serious continues to confuse me in a positive way in not making transphobic jokes. girly scream from the cowardly mayor? ok, that's prime setup right? sure, but they don't make the joke, it's just a scream that doesn't match the character design, but that's part of the general joke of the character: he's a coward who often hides in a barrel, but he's a huge buff dude who wouldn't even fit in the barrel. you get what i mean? puss doesn't burst in saying "i'll save you my lady" and then haha is a dude. he just bursts in to save someone. another standard plot: convince someone they are brave by pretending they defeat something, they they get overconfident and find real trouble and learn to reign it in or fully return to the status quo, wonder how they'll do it. damn, they did the getting too confident straight, but put enough good jokes in the scene to not make it awkward (hard to avoid), not to see if they can do the rest well. making Dulcinea (the female polite cat) do it because puss is too tired helps. "it's ok buddy, i'll read it to you" "you're a cute friend" subversion of expectation and cute as fuck, these are the joke i love. oh no, the man travels with a shadow over his face in spite of physics, he's definitely evil. surprisingly polite to those he thinks unwell though. and the standard plot continues. going with the "hopes and dreams dashed, but then shows bravery for reals". yep that's basically exactly what they did, with one funny in concept but sadly meh in execution fightscene. this isn't an episode you watch for the end, you watch for the jokes which are amazing.
1.8 human shrek is on the cover of the romance novel. blink and you'll miss it and i love it. oh no, puss ate xanathar's fish, and is now hunted by a Sinnamon smelling golem. this is so stupid in the best way. classic way for things to gain a soul too, it's neat. and damn does it make for a neat episode.
1.9 "let me gaze upon your golden booty" "i am uncomfortable" yes i'm still trying to get you to watch the show. oh a dust devil, neat. and that it's a demon is accurate to how people used to think about them (to my knowledge the origin of djinn). i think that was the first reuse of an asset i noticed (if you ignore the bandits): a sceptre that was broken in a previous episode. this is not a negative, just impressive that it took this long to use the same asset for a similar thing. also love that Dulcinea's arc so far is getting angry, but not like in a bad way.
1.10 excalibur? ok, this is an interesting take. generally not the angle of a reluctant hero (fun dnd PC backstory?). and the classic puss being pretty lost when he can't be the hero... starts to feel a bit overdone, but how many things can you do with him? also the animation touches are very nice. is this a story about cheating? because it sounds like a story about cheating, and with someone not getting over their ex. also this episode has some crazy good action. also this sword has a problem with asparagus.
1.11 uhm, that's not what sphynx looks like. where are her inks and piercings? did they accidentally use the wrong model? "well, technically medicine is the best medicine, but laughter is cheaper". wait what!? the cow barlady used to be an assassin?! also is this an episode about racism? like this could turn sour quickly. also what i think is clever but also semi noticeable is a cost cutting measure (honestly i've been noticing it for a while): if things don't move they aren't actually rendered in 3d, instead a single render is made of them and then it's a flat image that animation is rendered on top of. now this makes total sense to do: it's a lot less rendering so everything will be faster, which is a necessity if it's a tv show with tv show budget with 15 episodes. it allows for backgrounds that are relatively detailed unlike other 3d shows which are very often very plain. but if things look slightly off to you this may be why. damn, mature talk about wanting to do things but not doing it. this show is crazy. also damn that's one evil mouse. at least the sphynx petrified is the correct model.
1.12 that's just a god damn goblin. like literally called a goblin. and visually think dnd goblin... wild. also this is just about racism. mostly a pretty standard episode, but pusses unwavering belief is nice. and if a new person joins the cast that would make it even better.
1.13 earlier today episode? can always be fun. oh, Dulcinea gets to have puss' standard problem: feeling like he's no longer needed, and thus no longer him, thus problem. "i'll even write all of the stories myself. i will use all of the words. so many words!" and suddenly puss is talking like fucking trump. when puss thinks Dulcinea may be in legal troubles he'll immediately start helping her out, because pull aint no snitch lol. well now this episode conflicts with the last wish. Puss being against wishing stars here but going after it then? well, there is of course desperation
1.14 mother Mary the cat? so it'll be a puss' pride episode. the episode didn't have any big fightscenes, so instead the focus was put on the final dance. odd, but really fun.
1.15 a curse of bad luck turning puss into a black cat, that's just neat. wild that i had nothing more to say about it despite it being the last episode of season 1. oh well, on to season 2 i guess.

Is there any specific care guides for mice you can recommend? I have rats and have been keeping them a long time, how similar is their care? I have a spare 40 gallon breeder and I've been thinking about getting mice for awhile, how many mice would be a good number for that size enclosure?
Guides, no, as I've never used a pet guide. I've talked about mouse enclosures before, it'll be under my /mice tag. My best advice for guides is take it with a grain of salt. Ask keepers if something sounds off.
As for a 40g, personally I wouldn't use something that large or deep without ventilation. Mice don't like open spaces, it stresses them. So the work you'd have to do to fill a 40g with enough stuff to keep them chill is ridiculous. People will try to argue things like oh well they have the whole world/house as their home in the wild, and this boggles me because okay, yeah they do and they chew out a small tight space they can hide in and if you've seen one they're basically stressed and terrified they're going to get eaten constantly. Anyway. Bigger isn't better when it comes to mice, unless you're aiming for bioactive in which case no you aren't. Don't do that.
The other thing is ventilation. A glass aquarium doesn't have it. You can get an aquarium fan to attach to the top to circulate air and dry the bedding but honestly it's better to just build a bin cage. There's a lot of DIY guides if you just search "DIY mouse bin." It's basically a standard storage tote with 1-4 windows cut in the sides that have been patched with hardware cloth. This allows air flow and prevents ammonia buildup. It's cheap to do. It provides a good amount of space for around 6 mice.
If the 40g is what you want to use, get the fans and start looking into how to get a bunch of small cardboard boxes or where to get a bunch of wooden hides you can stack and arrange. Personally in my one larger aquarium enclosure, I like cardboard because I don't have to clean it- I can just go compost it when it gets soiled. They also chew their own paths through the boxstravaganza, which gives them something to do and means each setup is unique.
The rule of thumb for mouse density in pets is usually 1 mouse per 50square inches of floor space. HOWEVER "floor space" is a little nebulous. Horizontal space that's above floor level, like an extra shelf or other raised flat surface, particularly if it has extra stuff for them like hides or enrichment activities, can count towards that total. My 30g has 360 inches of floor space on the bottom level, but it's got 3 levels of varying floor spaces. So at most it has 12 mice even though literal bottom floor space would only "allow" 7 (though granted it usually only has 6-8 because there are does out for litters), because it has a lot of raised floor space.
As for rats vs mice, it's really not that different. Slightly different nutritional needs and don't keep male mice together unless you know what they're doing because unlike rats, male mice often fight to the death.

Match Review: Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal
Tumblr had a freak-out at my last attempt, so I lost all my work. This will be a short re-write.
Tumblr media
The depressing thing is that this wasn't a bad result for us based on this season. Shows how shit we've been, and shows how our standards/expectations have slumped. Miserable isn't it.
We deserved defeat because we don't learn our lessons. Casemiro was way too deep on his own for no reason and forgot to play the offside trap, and then we let Havertz cutback for Trossard to tap in. LIKE EVERY GOAL THIS SEASON AGAINST US. JESUS WEPT.
The Positives: Amad. Kid looks real good. Really nice on the attack; composed, creative, offensive. More intelligence there than Garnacho.
Kobbie Mainoo. He's just a class act. Smooth and reliable midfield operator.
Sofian Amrabat also gets some praise. He wasn't amazing, but he was solid. We've not had a solid CDM this season. Ten Hag's system relies on that pivot and clean up role. Amrabat is not a passing master like a Frenkie De Jong, but he is a seasoned international with Morocco. I'm taking his 6 or 7/10s over Casemiro's nothings every time.
Tumblr media
The Negatives: Aaron Wan Bissaka never wants to cross, so he's very easy to read.
Jonny Evans is old and slow. Smart, but outdone easily.
Casemiro is old and slow and not a CB.
Diogo Dalot sucks at LB. He is a RB.
Scott McTominay is a ghost of a midfielder and needs to play for a team that has a diamond 4 or a central 3 and 1 in front. He's a good lad, and a passionate player, but he needs to be moved on.
Alejandro Garnacho has been overplayed and is just making the same mistakes. He's great on the break and on turnovers of possession. That transition is primetime for him, but he's not skinning people like Peak Rashford. That's his next step of evolution, but you get that in training and by being a super sub. Not starting every week because we need you.
Same goes for Rasmus Hojlund. I love the kid, I really do, but he also needs a bit more game intelligence. He's great at receiving crosses, but we don't do them, so he needs to figure out how to make do with what he can get. This sucks, because he's strong and pacey and wants to run on beyond, but he might need to learn to loiter deep and burst forward as a surprise package; race away from their CB or CDM and cause confusion amongst the marking.
Tumblr media
So yeah, 8th place, 3 behind shitty Chelsea, two games to go. Newcastle on Wednesday, Brighton on Sunday, and then the FA Cup Final vs City. Somehow I hope we magically find some form in the midst of this. Who knows, maybe the returns of Bruno, Marcus and Martinez mean we can bench Garnacho, Casemiro and McTominay and we might - just might - play some semblence of Ten Hag Ball. It'd be a magical ending to a horror show season.
Oh, and the heavy rain at the end was so bad it flooded the pitch just before full time and flooded half of a stand to the point of evacuation. LOL. Old Trafford is falling down. Fuck the Glazers.

pretty much just echoing what other anons are saying about the absolute lack of nuance that armys have fostered where anyone who has a negative opinion about anything the members do is just an uncultured hater who wants the entire wrath of stan twitter to fall on x member.
while i do think black armies are absolutely correct about the virtue signaling and pearl clutching that white armies tend to do when it comes to sexual references in hip hop/rap outside of bts and agree that it is largely based in racist stereotypes. i think the “bora glasses” are causing them to miss the point of a lot of the uproar. its not about lyrics being sexual bc this (for the most part) did not happen with latto’s verse. in addition, a lot of them hate to admit they find this language attractive bc its the kind of stuff we have been socialized to expect from men since we are little girls. i am latina and grew up around reggaeton (heavily influenced by rap and hip hop) where a min. 80% of the music is extremely degrading and objectifying of women. even as a queer adult woman in her late 20s while i acknowledge this issue with the genre (and have heard much more explicit things) a lot of that music is extremely nostalgic to me. so i understand the cognitive dissonance but i cannot accept that from men i expect better from (not JH obviously lol).
and yes, i do think this is a bad look for JK even if he didn’t sing or write that part bc either he’s aware of the meaning and has no problem with it or is that oblivious to not even know what someone is saying on his own damn song. the fact that an alternate version even exists with this collab tells me that the check cleared before someone in a board room went “actually maybe not”.
despite my deep respect for BTS throughout the years, at the end of the day I will always acknowledge that they are men. they are not some sexless unicorns raised in a place with no misogyny or gender roles, they are men and like most other men they engage in behavior that often betrays the respect of most women whether consciously or subconsciously. we simply may not see it bc they are celebrities with pretty curated online personalities. now, that doesn’t mean i think they’re secretly chauvinistic pigs but despite my respect for them i always keep a degree of distance bc they *could* be.
i will add that the “bora glasses” are a hell of a drug. the double standards when it comes to the members vs other celebrities is insane (and i dont even like most celebrities lol). i know not a single one of these armies would think twice about talking shit about a song like this if it were from anyone else and that’s what really disappoints me about what our spaces have turned into.
I really appreciate your perspective on what the previous anon said , given your own personal experiences and culture. I'm obviously not the best person to speak on this subject.
I agree that the "bora glasses" are a real thing. It seems to me that even "normal" Armys are complaining a bit about the song, however, which is good. But I don't know that the solo version exists simply because Hybe foresaw the original would upset people. They likely wanted to recreate with 3D what they did for Seven - two versions counting as one, or at least another version to boost streams apart from the instrumental. Since it didn't make sense to have a clean and explicit versions again, and because maybe they knew some fans hadn't liked Latto's verses or Seven being a feature, they used the same strategy they applied to TXT's Back For More recently, and recorded a solo version.
I also agree that BTS are men, so, like all men, they're probably a lot more insensitive and ignorant to sexism than we imagine, and say or do a lot of things that would disappoint us (though I don't believe they're secretly chauvinistic pigs at all).
Anyway, thanks for your fresh take!

Hello everyone this is the octo blog repping all of splat net! The sun has come up on anther splatastic week! The splatfest has ended so lets see who won!
Tumblr media
Team alie- wait nessie?? Well that was a shocker, to me at least. Since we are on the topic of Splatfests I would like to bring you Splatfest law!
Article 1. Normal splatfest
When a fest is announced via a predetermined theme voted on by Jellyfish or made by producers or from the fax machine one team will battle to see who is legally the best.(Or whatever conditions are applied to a fest)
Section 1. B Scoring
At the end of the fest all the points will be collected. The point consists of Conch shells collected, Votes, Open, Pro, and Tri Color. Whom ever wins the most of each sections wins and is legally declared the best. (Or whatever conditions are applied to a fest)
Section 1. C Conch shells
Conch shells can be obtained through leveling up your catalog. They can be used in any Gen 3 lobby mostly seen in the splatlands. If one cannot use Conch Shells they can be refunded for points towards their team.
Section 1. D Votes
When a fest is announced a player can vote manually and or electronically. When vote is casted a player will be given a tee with a bracelet number on it.
Section 1. E Game modes
Open, Pro, and Tri color are all modes you can play during a fest. The new Anarchy idols Deep Cut have 3 members so now there are 3 teams. Open and Pro are only A team vs B team, but in Tri color its A team vs B team vs C team. Tri color is a 2 vs 2 vs 3 mode.
Article 2. City Participation
When a city hosts a fest it must set up voting systems and a stage for performances. The city also must set up screens for splatfest messages.
Section 2. B Building laws
When a city hosts a splatfest any technology they need will and shall be provided. The city does not need to be inside standard building laws or regulations. Nothing needs to go past a board or other forces just presented. Any and all litter will be cleaned up in the hours between the end of the fest and winner is placed.
Section 2. C What determines a city of code
A city will be evaluated before an construction begins. If the city has an water leaks or extreme rain. Its criminal rate will also be evaluated. If it is not approved it will be assigned N/A. After the finalfest of a city it will be determined retired.
Article 3. Idol Participation

Foo Fighters - But Here We Are (REVIEW)
Tumblr media
But Here We Are is the most recent album from the modern classic that is the Foo Fighters. Just under 30 years after their debut, newer albums are still maintaining the power and sound that put them on the map in the first place. But Here We Are is a tribute to Taylor Hawkins, late drummer and friend to the Foo Fighters, and the album isn't shy about this. Grief is a frequent theme presented all over the album, often through a lens similar to a break-up. An overall strong album with some noticeably weaker songs, But Here We Are still sounds like Foo Fighters. As important as experimentation is for music, it's always refreshing to hear a band stay the same band you fell in love with. The album is excellent at balancing upbeat instrumentation and vocals with lyrics that can be taken for standard rock fare or for a deep study in grief. Good album cover, too!
TRACK 1 - RESCUED
Rescued is a very clean presentation of the themes and soul of the album. The lyrics are very clearly about loss if you know they're supposed to be, but the tone and presentation is still standard for american rock. Without context, you could read it comfortably as normal esoteric rock lyrics, but there's no misconstruing it with the knowledge beforehand. The bass is a highlight, especially in the softer sections where it's isolated against Dave Grohl's vocals.
Not my favourite overall, but the perfect choice for the opening track. 8/10
TRACK 2 - UNDER YOU
Hey, remember when I said Rescued wasn't my favourite track on the album? That's this. Another track later on comes close, though! Under You is a fundamental crystallization of grief, with the title line being totally devastating if it resonates with you at all. The sound is warm and enveloping, but the grief never leaves the lyrics for a single line. The sound is your ideal highschool summer rock ballad, but it reads as such an intimate exploration of loss.
I don't know if it should gain or lose points for being too much of a jam to make me as sad as it should. 10/10.
TRACK 3 - HEARING VOICES
This is the first But Here We Are steps away from the classic rock sound the Foo Fighters are known for, but not far enough to be classed completely differently. The bass is very involved in this one, with its own riff as opposed to just a thrumming line beneath the other instruments. This is a key ingredient to why this song sounds as different as it does; the fundamental composition is entirely different from the previous songs, with different instruments occupying different spaces.
One of the weaker songs, but the chorus is a highlight. Grohl's raspy vocals and a higher tonal plateau for the instruments win it a 6/10.
TRACK 4 - BUT HERE WE ARE
Title track! The record has officially abandoned a solid sense of cohesion from song-to-song, with wildly different experiences that make you question if you're listening to it shuffled or not. This is one of the spots on the album that most clearly reflect Grohl's history with Nirvana in its fuzzied guitars and muddy lyrics. If Rescued presents the initial shock of a loss and Under You reflects living with it after it's all over, But Here We Are is the space between denial and acceptance. I wouldn't have picked anything else for the title track; it perfectly encapsulates the balance of loss in the context of a lover vs loss in the context of a death, while still sounding like it can have fun.
I'm glad they could fit a guitar solo in a song like this. 7/10
TRACK 5 - THE GLASS
To be perfectly candid, I don't like this song. Grohl's strained highlights are a highlight, and the lyrics are touching, but the sound is just not for me. I'm glad it's on the album, though, as it fills a space that would feel lacking without it. This is one of the most open-hearted songs on the album, with a very obvious confrontation of grief. The entire second minute is a highlight, and probably sounds great live.
Really can't keep these guys away from a 2:40 guitar solo, huh? 5/10
TRACK 6 - NOTHING AT ALL
This is the other contender for my favourite song on the album, and another showcase of Dave Grohl's past in Nirvana. The lyrics are surreal and repetitive at times, and the risers and lead-ins around the pre-chorus are the best on the album. I'm glad they kept this sound to only be used once on the album, to preserve the alien feeling surrounding it. The chorus and pre-chorus are incredibly reflective of Nirvana, and, unsurprisingly, a highlight of the album.
The bridge is stellar. Nothing more to say about it. 10/10
TRACK 7 - SHOW ME HOW
I was not expecting a duet! The first song on the album to deal with loss but not with grief, Show Me How is a touching ode to reassure Grohl's late mother Virginia. The guest vocalist on here is his daughter Violet, which makes the familial connection all the more tear-jerking. As a hardcore shoegaze fan, I might be a little biased, but I love the idle droning and dreamy vocals. The soundscape in here is hazy and warm, the reassuring vocals carrying over to the listener as well as, hopefully, the people the song was written for.
This one almost made me cry. 9/10.
TRACK 8 - BEYOND ME
In case you thought we were done with abrupt changes in our sound, here's a piano. There's not much left to touch on that I haven't said about the others, but I'll speak on the highlights. The guitar is beautiful, with a masterful balance of power and vulnerability in the somber chords and the hopeful lead-in to the title lyric every time it's used. The instruments here all serve to prop up the vocals instead of enveloping them, which I imagine is refreshing for the hypothetical listener who's not a huge fan of the muddied quality of shoegaze.
The solo (yes, at the end of the second minute,) might be my single favourite on the album. 8/10
TRACK 9 - THE TEACHER
This is the most traditional somber rock ballad on the album, but with a lot of heel-turns on the soundscape. The intro guitar feels ambling and unsure of itself, with Grohl's quiet and bassy vocals serving to present a reserved and unconfident front, but by no means incompetent. As soon as the opening verse makes it about halfway, though, the sound swells into a titanic prog-rock throughline riff. It feels disorganized, but not once does it come across as unintentional.
I'm not crazy about the sound, but the composition is stellar, especially for the main riff. 7/10
TRACK 10 - REST
Full disclosure: this is my least favourite sound on the album. Follow-up: I don't think that should matter. Rest is a character study, a confessional, a biography; the song wasn't written for any of us. If I had to guess, I'd wager it was written for Hawkins. The sound is intimate and encompassing, and Grohl sings it like it's a lullaby. Whether for himself or for Hawkins is unclear; he sounds exhausted, like he's only awake to do this one thing for someone he loves. I've been there before. When the processed sound does come crashing in (yes, end of the second minute again,) it hits like a wave. I can't imagine this one is easy for him to perform live.
9/10, almost cried again.
RETROSPECTIVE But Here We Are has an incredibly warm and well-rounded sound, especially for the subject matter. By the last three songs, they abandon the room for interpretation of their loss as a romantic kind, and I think I love it. Not every song needs to be relatable for everyone; where it hits for someone, it hits. Without the dichotomy, the Foo Fighters can focus all of their writing and energy on grief and its ravages in a way that works so perfectly with their sound. Coming from one of the best experimental guitarists of the 90s in Kurt Cobain gives Dave Grohl a lot of room to draw from, and he shows it off at every opportunity he gets, with a dynamic range of soft acoustics and crashing powerful chords. The sound design all melds together in a way that feels cozy and nostalgic, perfectly capturing the feeling of looking back on warm memories with a friend, and ends with the wave of sorrow when you need to accept that's not coming back. If you want an album to share in your grief, especially if your grief isn't always all sad, i cant recommend But Here We Are enough. 8/10 overall.

Why Every Business Needs a Professional Commercial Cleaning Service
Running a business comes with a long to-do list, and while maintaining a clean workspace might not always be at the top, it should be. A clean and organized office is more than just about appearances—it’s about health, productivity, and creating a positive impression. This is why every business, big or small, needs a professional commercial cleaning service.
First Impressions Matter
Think about the last time you walked into a business and noticed dusty desks, overflowing trash bins, or dirty floors. It probably left a negative impression, right? Now, imagine a client or potential partner walking into your office and seeing the same thing. No matter how great your services are, a messy environment can hurt your reputation. A professional commercial cleaning service, like Evolution DR Cleaning in Bound Brook, NJ, ensures your space is spotless, making your business look polished and professional at all times.
Healthier Work Environment
A clean workspace isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s crucial for health. Offices and commercial spaces are breeding grounds for bacteria, dust, and allergens. Employees constantly touch shared surfaces like doorknobs, keyboards, and breakroom counters, spreading germs easily. If your office isn’t cleaned regularly, illnesses can spread, leading to more sick days and reduced productivity.
With Evolution DR Cleaning’s commercial cleaning services, your office will be sanitized thoroughly, reducing the risk of infections and allergies. They use high-quality cleaning products and techniques to eliminate bacteria and allergens, creating a healthier environment for your employees and customers.
Increased Employee Productivity
No one likes working in a cluttered or dirty space. Studies have shown that employees are more focused and efficient in a clean and organized environment. When your office is neat and fresh, it boosts morale and motivation. Employees don’t have to waste time tidying up their workstations or worrying about an unclean bathroom. Instead, they can focus on their tasks, leading to better efficiency and productivity.
By hiring Evolution DR Cleaning, businesses in Bound Brook, NJ, can ensure that their work environment stays spotless, giving employees the best conditions to perform their best.
Professional Cleaning vs. In-House Cleaning
Some businesses try to save money by assigning cleaning duties to employees or hiring an in-house cleaning team. However, this often leads to inconsistent results. Employees have their own job responsibilities and may not have the time or expertise to clean thoroughly. An in-house cleaning team requires extra management, salaries, benefits, and cleaning supplies, which can add up.
A professional commercial cleaning service like Evolution DR Cleaning provides trained experts who know how to clean efficiently and effectively. They bring their own high-quality supplies, follow a structured cleaning routine, and handle everything from deep cleaning carpets to sanitizing restrooms. You get top-notch cleaning without the hassle of managing it yourself.
Cost-Effective and Time-Saving
Hiring a professional cleaning service might seem like an extra expense, but in reality, it’s a smart investment. A clean and well-maintained workspace means fewer employee sick days, increased productivity, and a better reputation—all of which contribute to higher profitability.
Additionally, outsourcing cleaning services saves you time. Business owners and managers can focus on running their company instead of worrying about dusting desks or scrubbing floors. Evolution DR Cleaning offers flexible cleaning schedules to fit your business needs, whether it’s daily, weekly, or monthly cleaning.
Compliance with Health and Safety Standards
Depending on your industry, there may be strict cleanliness and sanitation regulations you must adhere to. Failing to meet these standards can result in fines, health code violations, or even business closures. Professional cleaning services ensure that your workspace remains compliant with all local health and safety requirements.
Evolution DR Cleaning is experienced in handling various types of commercial cleaning, ensuring that businesses in Bound Brook, NJ, meet all cleanliness standards effortlessly.
Final Thoughts
A clean workspace is more than just a nice-to-have—it’s essential for your business’s success. H2B Charcoal Treatment: The Secret to Healthier, Revitalised Hair
Tumblr media
If you’ve noticed your hair feeling weighed down by excess product build-up, or if your scalp feels clogged and congested, a detoxifying hair treatment might be just what you need. The H2B Charcoal Treatment is a revolutionary way to purify, revitalise, and restore the natural health of your hair. This treatment leverages the natural powers of activated charcoal to draw out impurities, giving your scalp and hair a much-needed reset. In this blog, we will explore everything you need to know about H2B Charcoal therapy, its benefits, and how to incorporate it into your hair care routine.
1. What is H2B Charcoal Therapy?
1.1 Introduction to Charcoal Hair Care
Activated charcoal has long been known for its detoxifying properties in skincare, but it has now found its place in hair care. H2B Charcoal Therapy Uses activated charcoal as a key ingredient to cleanse and refresh your hair. It works by attracting and absorbing dirt, toxins, and impurities that may have accumulated in the hair and on the scalp. The result is cleaner, healthier hair that feels light and rejuvenated.
1.2 Why Choose H2B Charcoal ?
H2B Charcoal is specifically designed to offer a deep cleanse, helping to remove stubborn product build-up, excess oils, and environmental pollutants. It is particularly effective for individuals who use styling products regularly or live in areas with high pollution. This treatment ensures that your hair receives the cleansing it needs to return to its natural shine and softness.
2. Benefits of H2B Charcoal Therapy
2.1 Detoxifies and Purifies
The primary benefit of the H2B Charcoal is its detoxifying power. Activated charcoal is incredibly effective at drawing out toxins and impurities from the hair and scalp. Over time, products like hairspray, dry shampoo, and styling gels can build up, leaving your hair feeling heavy and greasy. Charcoal removes these residues, purifying your hair and allowing it to breathe.
2.2 Adds Shine and Softness
Once the build-up is removed, your hair is left feeling lighter, softer, and shinier. With impurities gone, your hair has a renewed vitality, and the natural shine that was previously hidden beneath layers of product build-up can now shine through. This leaves your hair looking and feeling healthy and vibrant.
2.3 Suitable for All Hair Types
The H2B Charcoal is suitable for all hair types, whether straight, curly, fine, or coarse. It helps remove oil and product build-up from every hair type, making it an ideal choice for individuals looking to refresh their hair. It’s also gentle enough for sensitive scalps, providing a refreshing clean without causing irritation.
3. How to Use the H2B Charcoal Therapy
3.1 Application Process
Applying the H2B Charcoal Therapy Is simple. Start by wetting your hair thoroughly, then apply the treatment to your scalp and hair. Gently massage the product into your scalp to allow the charcoal to draw out impurities. Leave the treatment on for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm water. For best results, follow up with a nourishing conditioner to restore moisture.
3.2 How Often Should You Use It?
While the H2B Charcoal Therapy is an effective detox, it’s important not to overdo it. Using it once or twice a month is generally enough for most hair types. However, if you live in an area with high pollution, or if you use heavy styling products regularly, you might benefit from using it more often.
4. The H2B Charcoal Therapy vs Traditional Shampoos
4.1 Charcoal vs Regular Shampoos
Traditional shampoos clean the hair and scalp, but they don’t necessarily provide a deep cleanse. H2B Charcoal Therapy Offers a level of purifying power that standard shampoos don’t have, making it ideal for eliminating build-up and toxins that regular shampoos often miss.
4.2 Charcoal’s Unique Detoxifying Properties
Unlike regular shampoos, charcoal actively binds to toxins, pollutants, and product build-up, drawing them out of the hair. This means your hair gets a much deeper clean, free of impurities that might be clogging up your scalp or dulling your hair’s natural shine.
5. Why Choose H2B Charcoal Therapy?
5.1 Perfect for Detoxing and Purifying
If your hair feels weighed down by residue, oils, or pollution, H2B Charcoal therapy is the perfect product for you. Its unique formula effectively detoxifies your scalp and hair, removing build-up and impurities.
5.2 Restores Hair Health
With consistent use, the H2B Charcoal Therapy can improve the overall health of your hair, leaving it shinier, softer, and more vibrant. It is the perfect product to restore your hair’s natural beauty and radiance.
5.3 Gentle yet Effective
Despite its powerful detoxifying action, H2B Charcoal therapy is gentle enough for all hair types and is suitable for regular use. It won’t strip your hair of its natural moisture, which means your locks will stay soft and manageable after each treatment.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a way to deeply cleanse and refresh your hair, the H2B Charcoal Treatment is a fantastic option. It effectively removes impurities, product build-up, and excess oils, leaving your hair feeling light, soft, and revitalised. Whether you use it once a month or more often, this treatment is a great addition to any hair care routine for healthier, more vibrant hair.
