I probably don’t need to address the inactivity but I know this blog is/was important to some of y’all and I keep thinking about Taylor’s family as I hear about Topanga Canyon being on fire right now. I’m not sure if they still live there but if so I really hope they do not lose their house and his studio.

I will always love T but the FF fandom is so much drama it’s not fun anymore. The speculation, the inability to look at anything without some stupid article written for clicks whether it is Rolling Stone, some roadie saying he’s glad Taylor died, or of course the Dave drama, it’s just weird and exhausting. On the flip side, I’ve grown a lot in my life and I feel like there is a sort of strange parasocial attachment people have to Taylor that maybe I even once had, and it kind of gives me the heebie jeebies. I don’t see it as much on here as I do YouTube or IG, and I’ve distanced from the fandom on those platforms as well.

I just kind of feel like I ran into a wall with new content unfortunately and trying to dig for more inevitably leads to having to weed through drama I don’t have the energy for. Maybe that will change in the future. I don’t know. I admit I’m pretty grossed out by Dave’s actions and I’m tired of seeing people say “well he’s not as bad as Diddy so”. Like is the bar really that fucking low. Cheating on your wife and destroying your entire family is a scummy thing to do and I’ve seen firsthand how that impacts a family. It’s horrible. It’s traumatic for everyone involved. I’m not virtue signaling or canceling him, I’m just looking at the reality for what it is without being influenced by worrying about whether I sound like I’m canceling the guy or because “that’s just what rockstars do”. Fuck that. Fuck that mentality. I really wish they had kept it private because it’s such a stain on their legacy. It’s honestly depressing how this band seems to be coming to an end.

I’ll try to pop on when I can from time to time and I’m not logging off or putting the blog on hiatus but if you’re wondering why I haven’t posted much, it’s this.
