Kinda wanna make pokemon teams for pre-portal incident Mystery Trio just for the hell of it, so here I go.

Stanford: -Slowking *Look, ever since I read this GF x Pokemon fanfic where Stan and Ford had each a Slowpoke, to which the latter's evolved into a Slowking and the former's evolved into a Slowbro, I just couldn't stop thinking how perfect it is. Especially since Slowpoke are often found on the beach. -Noctowl *With all the owl stuff around the Shack, I thought it would be a neat pokemon to have. Especially when he needs eyes in the sky. -Glimmora *Tbh, just feels like a Ford pokemon. -Volcarona *A cool moth that may be ancient?? I actually am not sure?? It's found in such a strange location in it's main game. -Metang *Another "just feels like a Ford pokemon" pokemon. -(Shiny) Wooper *A gift from Fiddleford :) -There's loads of pokemon around Gravity Falls he studies, such as Unown, Sigilyph, Relicanth, fossils of different pokemon he has found, Spiritomb, etc.

Fiddleford: -Pignite *He grew up on a hog farm, so he gets the beefy hog pokemon that becomes an even beefier hog pokemon. It helps carry heavy metals and such, and also heats up anything he needs welded together. -Porygon 2 *For computer stuff and whatnot. Also, when it evolves into Porygon-Z, it's stated in it's pokedex that "Its programming was modified to enable it to operate in other dimensions. This did not work as planned," which ends up making it glitchy af. -Chimecho *It's pokedex entry says "Its cries echo inside its hollow body to emerge as beautiful notes for startling and repelling foes," so it's a helpful lil' pokemon for Fiddleford to have. -Mudsdale *GIVE THAT MAN A HORSE >:( -Sunflora *He seems like he would have a Sunflora. Someone who could help with chores or just relax with. -Beheeyem *"With its psychic powers, it rewrites its opponents’ memories. You, too, may have already had your memories rewritten." :)))

Stanley: -Slowbro *Basically the same as I wrote under Stanford's Slowking. -Garbodor *I remember a lot of people really disliking this pokemon when people first saw it, so I can definitely see Stanley finding a Trubbish alone in an alley and immediately adopting it on the spot. -Vigoroth *Idk, it- along with Slakoth and Slaking- just feels like a Stan pokemon. -Purrloin *A pokemon that would help in swindling / pickpocketing some money. "They steal from people for fun, but their victims can't help but forgive them. Their deceptively cute act is perfect." -Only has four pokemon for now. Costs quite a bit to get pokeballs and some food for them.

Trying to think like-- how this would work for an AU or whatever. 'Cause I can't see these three trying to collect Gym badges or whatever. Maybe Stanley wanted to back when he was younger, but after he got kicked out, there was no way he could do that anymore.

It could go more into all the different weird, ancient pokemon that both are and aren't legendary / mythical. As for Bill, he could be an already existing legendary / mythical pokemon (such as Giratina), or an Ultra Beast (like a mix of Blacephalon and Kartana), or he's just his regular triangle self.

Besides that, idk what else to add to this :')

For a moment tho', I was thinking about giving Ford a Toedscruel and while Stan had a Tentacruel.

I actually think Luke is serious about A. That age gap is typically what men marry these days. I think he's crazy about her and was taking it slow after a long term break up before going official. That shows intention, planning, and wanting her. I wouldn't be surprised the official IG couple post is coming soon.

I'm just upset that they took it this far with promo. Tom and Z were meeting each other's family outside of work early on, so to say you are officially brining him to meet the fame was a bit much. Closing your eyes when she touches your face? Grade A acting. I hate that it makes me believe he was never attracted to an amazing woman like Nicola. I feel dumb for falling for it all. I hope Nicola finds a handsome guy who will love her proudly.

that's a really interesting take tbh! ive actually never considered he was serious about her in the sense of marrying - but of course this is purely based off the vibes I get and is entirely my own view.

one of the reasons i say this is because luke doesn't seem too inclined to keep a completely friendly distance between himself and nic - i heard that the QC leads india and corey were shipped really hard by fans as well and he had a gf during the whole press run - and towards the end india and corey started posing separately on carpets (i.e. no touching, no friendly hand around shoulder even during photos etc) because they wanted to emphasise that they were really just friends.

luke in contrast seems to have no qualms about blurring lines - and one of the reasons the more rabid fans kept insulting Antonia was a direct result of the fact that he kept stating his "single" status to press. I think he could have helped Antonia avoid a lot of the flak she drew by just stating that he's seeing someone. but maybe he felt it would draw even more attention to his private life and her? idk. i don't want to puzzle over his motivations because I don't believe they are too complex - I've said this many times before and I'll keep saying it - no matter how good a man seems (and I do believe Luke is very good and sweet), trying to justify anything they do is still a sure path to disappointment.

more importantly: please don't feel dumb for falling for the hope that nic and luke could be together! i really don't think they were being deliberately disingenuous - i actually think the opposite - i think they themselves are often confused about what they really are and it's just easier to define it as being great friends. it's strange but i get the feeling that they see each other as a source of potential - it's simultaneously impossible and also the easiest thing in the world for them to envision a reality where they're together - there just seems to be many barriers to it happening for real. they're comfortable living in the liminal space between great friendship and great romantic love - it definitely explains why nic said she doesn't have a relationship in her life that's anything close to what she has with luke. I think there just needs to be a decisive push for them to ever move out of this grey area. it'll have to be something massive for it to ever happen... and it's not something I hold out hope for (again, just to avoid disappointment!)

this got really long; I wish nic and luke all the best and I think they have something very special with each other. I think life has many many stops along the way and I don't think luke has found a final stop in his romantic journey with antonia - they are both very young and they don't have the vibe of "together forever" couples - if they did (since luke is such a big believer in love at first sight) - he'd have laid down a commitment a lot sooner.

again I want to emphasise that this is all MY POV - it's the vibe I get. I'm WELL AWARE I don't know these people irl. There's always criticism of how parasocial fandom and stan behaviour are but I think most fans - myself included - are very conscious of the fact that the way we perceive and interact with celebs is completely one sided. I'm also not a psychic or clairvoyant or anything of the sort. i just strangely feel a lot of things all the time and ive never been chill a day in my life 😂

sending you lots of good feelings and healing - I feel your hurt and unease and disappointment because I feel the same, but it gets easier to accept with each day that passes.

"Oh, thank you." Harry can't help the way his heart flutters the minute he sees Jason holding open the door to the restaurant. Yes, the bar might be on the floor when it comes to men but Harry can still appreciate a kindness. They settled on a nice little sushi place, somewhere with authentic looking decor and low tables. Harry sort of wishes he hadn't worn the leather pants, but then again, they do make his thighs look fabulous so. Jason pulls out Harry's chair for him, even sits down after Harry has. He's all smooth jawline and coifed blond hair, and when Harry orders, he doesn't even seem bothered that Harry got something kind of pricey. Which is why it feels awful when Harry glances up from his green tea and sees the group of guys come waltzing in. And of course. Of course. Louis Tomlinson in a blue sweater, flanked on either side by his fucking mates. Zayn looks at least a little apologetic, even as he immediately makes eye contact with Harry, which means he knows he was there. Which means Louis planned this. He doesn't even bother with the hostess, just flashes her a grin as he saunters across the place and right to the table next to theirs. "Oi, Jason, nice to see you mate." Louis tips his head, sinking into the chair just next to his with a friendly pat on Jason's shoulder. "Oh, uh, Louis." Jason looks startled, his hand fluttering over the table cloth. "Guys. Nice surprise." "I love this restaurant. Do you love this restaurant?" Louis asks conversationally, doesn't even acknowledge the way Harry is glaring at him. "Best sushi place around." "Yeah, um. It is. Have you met-" Jason goes to motion towards Harry but it seems Louis isn't done. "You know who recommended this place to me? Frankie. You remember Frankie?" Louis just keeps on talking, even as Zayn and Oli don't sit down, Luke and Stan lingering by the door. "I hope you do, considering he's on your lease." "Well I-" Jason starts to shake his head, eyes darting to Harry. "I-" "You have a boyfriend?" Harry asks and of fucking course. "He's not-" Jason immediately defends, but Louis clears his throat. "Don't lie. It's rude. My mates are going to see you home. Say goodnight to Harry." It's an instruction with no room for argument and Jason is bundled back up in his jacket and out of the door before the appetizers are even served. The waitress sets down the bowl of edamame and all Harry can do is stare at it as Louis lets out a sigh. "You want to go home too? Z can drive you." "No, we already ordered." Harry mutters, picking up a bean with little enthusiasm as he finally lets out a deep sigh, glancing up at Louis. "Well? Will you eat tuna or do I need to flag her down and change it?"

OCC: I loved that in this universe Carla and Stan never dated and are just amiable acquaintances. That Ford never had a crush on Catty and that was her how liked him, but now they are at war. And that Fidds and Emma are just close friends.

Thank you! Though it's more of me just trying to recontextualize things from the perspective that we have as gen z circa 202X. More AU thoughts and rambling under the cut!

In my opinion, it's pretty hard to ask anyone out nowadays because it could genuinely nuke your social life depending on how the other person takes it. That and Stan and Ford's relationship to Filbrick is also slightly different, hence why even the idea of romance is downright terrifying because after a serious romance is marriage right? And they saw how things went down with Filbrick and Caryn, not exactly the... best role models. Stan has crushes every now and then, he just doesn't know how to act on them a lot of the time haha! Ford and Cathy's "war" is actually inspired by a situation I know happened to a good friend of mine. I also don't think Ford personally has romance as a priority, he's too driven. It also doesn't help that in this day and age, prestige and aspiration are seen as very sought after traits. Someone with a good background and a stable path could probably stand a chance as a high-roller in a very unstable economy. Hence why I decided to flip the roles. If you look at it, Cathy doesn't ever attack Ford for his polydactyly either because she knows it's below the belt and uncalled for. But she does think he's an arrogant idiot who feels like he's too good for anybody! LOL! My idea of Fidds and Emma is genuinely because I do think inherently Fidds does really care for Emma-May! Just... not in the romantic sense. It's like... they're just really close do or die buddies. Compared to the canon-verse where the time period genuinely expect that men and women would go from friendship to partners in life eventually- in this day and age it's not really an expectation that exists anymore. That and... I always did think that Emma-May would've fit as that cool tomboyish girl that is one of the guys. Just a peek into my thought process about how I structure this AU and why I choose certain paths for the characters. It's not because I don't want them to be together chat! I have plans. Just... yeah!

Tobias / Casey:

Casey is listening to this and dancing (really badly) all around their townhome. She's bopping around thinking she looks soooo sexy, and it's kind of not... but it's so damn adorable, she gets the desired reaction from Tobias anyway. Like when doesn't she get that reaction from him anyway? lol

Tobias is a huge Frank Ocean fan, and this is one of his go-to songs for when he's feeling a little 😏😏😏. I mean, it's Valentine's Day every day in the Carrick household, so they're gonna go big or go home on the actual day. (And yes, of course it works! lol)

Trystan / Carolina:

Carolina has been trying to introduce Trystan to Latin music, and since Luis Miguel was one of her father's favorites, he's one of hers, as well. This song isn't a typical Valentine's Day song because it's about longing and heartache, but that's kind of Carolina's vibe, even when she is madly in love.

Trystan is a Wham! stan. Sorry, it's canon. lol I think he's got a whole dance routine planned out... tight jeans, leather jacket, unbuttoned shirt, sunglasses... the works. And he ROCKS it. Carolina can't stop laughing, but this is why she loves him.

Ethan / Kaycee:

Kaycee is never leaving her Taylor era, and she really doesn't care that this song was written for Joe (Joe who???), and this little song reminds exemplifies her relationship with Ethan, so it's definitely on replay this Valentine's Day.

So, this ties into the Valentine's Day fic I'm finishing off for these two. But Ethan found her really likes this album, and this song in particular has a special place in his heart. I think it will become a Valentine's Day standard in their home.

Okay so uh. I’ve seen you post a lot about TPORR, but what exactly is it? I just find it interesting and was wondering :3

You have no idea how long I’ve wanted someone to ask-

So! TPORR is short for The Pursuit of Rekindled Roots! It’s an SCU fan series myself and my partner have been working on, and is supposed to take place long after the events of RQ/Rainbow Quest. Not as long of a time gap as the one between SL and RQ, but still a decently sized gap.

The story centers around 3 hybrid Steves, each made from 2 different colors of chromatic Steves in a lab which they escaped from in the 1st (planned) episode. They have no memory of who they were as separate steves before the lab.

Experiment Q-05 “Q”: A green Steve and an orange Steve. The “oldest” of the group in terms of who was created (as a hybrid) first. Tends to be more quiet and stand-off-ish, but will eventually open up more around those they trust. But they don’t like to admit their thoughts or feelings for fear of being vulnerable. Big believer of the “Trust no one” mentality. They’d risk their life for the sake of others they’re more fond of. Suffers with their own issues internally to avoid putting the stress on others. Characters to compare to: Steven Universe (Future), Rainbow (RQ), Twyla (MH gen 3), Stan (Gravity Falls).

Experiment X-05 “X”: A yellow Steve and an Indigo Steve. The second “oldest” of the group. Still traumatized from the lab, but has seen far less than Q has. He seemed to be more of a social shut-in, but as soon as he was free he opened up big time. Now practically nothing can stop him from asking questions or making comments on something he finds interesting or intriguing. Has a special interest in all kinds of battle aspects. Planning, formations, weapons, transportation, etc. Even visits a blacksmith and gets a custom-made Dagger. Characters to compare to: Pearl (SU), Sharp (SL), Dipper (Gravity Falls), Ford (Gravity Falls).

Experiment Z-05 “Z”: a Blue Steve and a Violet Steve. The “youngest” of the group. Was the 2nd to last step in the scientists grand scheme, so they didn’t witness as much horror as Q and X had- but the other two try not to downplay Z’s experience. Z is more focused on new experiences rather than dragging up the past. They love to explore the world around them and witness everything new that they can. The most positive and bubbly out of the 3- but far from the most naive. They possess a special gift. Between Blue steves’ connections to spirit, and Violet Steves connection to emotions, Z is able to see what emotion a person is truly feeling- sort of like an aura. They can read people like a bolded sign, but would never admit to it unless the person does first. Z cares deeply for everything- living and even inanimate objects. Characters to compare to: Peridot (SU, later seasons), Star (SVTFOE), Mabel (Gravity Falls), Honey (OHSHC).

There will also be several more characters along the way, but this should serve as a good introduction for the main three. :}

ahhhh...where do i start?

i don't have a concrete idea/plan as to how this series is going to go yet. i don't have a story plan for each member yet either. all i have is the small indented idea and the sure idea that all the stories will be heavily inspired by each member's individual 'generation z' videos.

i'm pretty sure it will be a 'the boyz x reader' story series! currently, i'm settled with the idea that the reader is childhood/old friends with each member and they gradually drifted because life took them to different places. ultimately, the reader just looks back on their memories with each member. but, i don't think each story will be connected.

i was thinking of keeping a word limit of 2k for each story (we all know this isn't going to happen)

i chose the 'generation z' videos because i remember this being the videos that really 'pushed me' to stanning tbz. i've never seen these kinds of videos where idols talk openly about their feelings and i thought 'wait! i could implement this into a story!'

addressing the 'personal healing project' part: i haven't been able to watch full videos and fully finish listening tbz related since august 11, 2023. today marks the 80th day that i've been stuck in the past and my own feelings.

long story short, something happened in my life and i had tbz content around me when the event occurred. unfortunately with tbz being there when it unfolded, everytime a song comes on or i see a picture of them, network of associations links me back to the event.

so i stopped listening, unfollowed tbz and all fan accounts specifically on instagram.

but thankfully for me...

i'm still able to write stories

i have seen improvement: able to see old pictures (day 18), unconsciously sung merry bad ending (day 26), consciously hummed lip gloss (day 37), finished up to the end of closer's second verse but backed out after (day 54), able to talk about tbz (day 66) etc.

it's been a hard journey but i have hope.

like changmin said in his 'generation z' video: still, i have hope. without hope, i don't think i can survive.

plus...i know that i still love and look up to the boyz so much.

because even though exposure therapy may still be too much for me now, the fact that time has done its work bit by bit, and i'm able to somewhat look at pictures of them, it means that i am healing.

is one of the topics that i wanted to 'experiment' with that i talked about in my about me page.

'generation z' pushed me into really stanning tbz and i just hope (and i hope endlessly) that maybe by going back to this video and implementing it to something i love (writing stories), that i'll be able to heal further.

tbz are having a comeback nov 20th! 🎉 i might not be able to follow them this comeback but please give them lots support!

as i see ppl reducing adora's character development to "dumb lesbian jock lol", i kinda remember how some a/tla fans treat zuko.

for context, zuko/sokka became a lot more popular in more recent years, and sadly, i've seen ppl reducing zuko's entire arc to "he's a stupid gay". and i'm not saying you're not allowed to project onto him and hc he's gay, but not only is this a way of ppl to antagonize z/utara (trust me, the hate this ship gets is ridiculous), zuko as a character doesn't always get the right treatment from a part of the fandom. he might be infantilized despite being one of the oldest characters in the gaang.

secondly, azula stans often devalue zuko's trauma to make azula the "actual" victim - but trauma isn't a competition. besides that, ppl often overlook how unhealthy m/aiko is, considering mai avoids any emotional connection with zuko and just makes him kiss her or do pointless things, along with her being complicit in the fire nation's imperialism. now, i do not want to say that mai's apathy is what makes her a bad person. lack of empathy does not mean someone is automatically a monster or a "psychopath". the problem is that mai's and zuko's personalities clash a lot, as zuko deeply empathizes with others, even his supposed enemies (like katara). zuko and mai don't share the same morals. mai doesn't even understand why zuko turned against the fire nation. sadly, m/aiko is another victim of bad writing bc they end up together in a very concerning way ("never break up with me again").*

basically, i feel like even this is like the way the spop fandom treats adora, which is also the show's fault considering it doesn't explore much of adora's trauma in comparison to catra's. while zuko's trauma IS deeply analyzed in atla, some fans silence his experiences bc they think azula deserves more attention. i agree that azula in some ways was done dirty (especially if you read the comics), but they straight up erase the fact azula abused zuko, that she intimidated and blackmailed ty lee, and obviously did a plethora of bad things. azula is still a victim of ozai, of course. but i'm so sick of azula stans erasing the damage she's done.

During 1.0 about 90% of tomdayas came from Zs fandom. The ones that had followed Z closely knew her dating MO and she was repeating it with Tom. There was even a famous thread in 2017 that compared how Z acted with Trevor with how she was acting with Tom and how it was the same strategy (the author of that thread is besties with Zs superfan Thea and went with Thea to the Dune premiere and afterparty in London). In contrast, the vast majority of Tom stans were buying the Marvel imposed "spoiler king" narrative and thought it was impossible that Tom could lie about something as big as his love life. Tom had also dated publicly his high school sweetheart Elle. The moderators of his biggest fanpages in ig with tens of thousands of followers were fervently anti-tomdayas, even cropping Z from Tom pics while having no issue posting him with his other friends.

During October 2020 - July 1st 2021 we were in a state of uncertainty and you know that better than anyone. There were hints that Tom and Z had restarted their friendship but we were not sure if they had gotten back together. The Atlanta COVID bubble made it hard for us to determine what was going on. Even your own super tomdaya self was planning to hang up your shipping coat by July 1st, 2021 if there were not solid sightings of Tom and Z that proved that they were more than friends. There were some that were not sure if Tom and Nadia were still together, or that he was interested in Sophia Ali; others were implying that Tom had secret gfs in London or was having fun hooking up with models in Monaco. Then for Z there were some that suggested that she was with JDW or with Hunter. We didn't have much evidence, so I don't blame any fan that was unsure what was going on in that period

After July 2, the amount of tomdayas grew astronomically and this number increased after NWH was released and Tom & Z still stayed together (invalidating the pr relationship claims). Now the amount of antis is very small but they tend to be extremely irrational and can't accept even the most obvious facts. It's better to ignore these crazies

If we talk about Tim/Tom I can't compare their skills bc not saw much Tim works bc I not like him much as person. One big difference one fame hungry and seem like have bigger desire in acting craft,on other side Tom said himself he wasn't planning be a actor,never was in drama school. So force himself never good way to be best in profession,so we don't know if he have enough desire in this. So objectively Tim have bigger chance be successful.

Right now looks like Fred Astaire on pause,Paul King said project on early stages so Tom have again free year, after in 2025 spiderman shooting. After all marvel project Tom career can go two ways or he get tired hitting the way and retire maybe move to something else or will have breakthrough role.

I don’t call myself a stan “because stans are weirdos”. That is not the reason. I am not a stan nowadays because I don’t invest my free time in him as much as I used to when I was a stan. I do not even remember the last time I posted his picture, when in the past I used to be an update/content account for him and tomdaya, so anyone who knew my old account then knows the drastic shift which happened naturally.

As for Tom, I think he loves acting. He didn’t attend some classes at his drama school much because he was working or busy , not because he didn’t care about acting. He was busy getting real life acting experiences during those years. As for him saying he may take time off, this is him taking that time off. Taking time off is not same thing as retiring. Also, he is a storyteller. He loves embellishing or exaggerating things and he is emotionally expressive, so I think he wanted to have a break and some people took it as if he wants to retire soon, but what he was trying to express was no different than what Z said, which is that if they were to stop acting tomorrow, they would still be doing something they like (Z said she would have been a teacher if it was not acting), by that what they meant was their entire existence and self-worth are not tied to their success in acting. They would still be happy people if acting stopped tomorrow.

I don’t think Tom will retire anytime soon. He still has some fire in his belly and likes the craft. Maybe working extra hard on Fred Astaire may give him that extra motivation and inspiration.

It's funny to be in this position where I follow a ton of SPN blogs, and a ton of Good Omens blogs, and so I get a lot of interesting hot takes across my dash.

It's fine for people to be critical, but I do find criticism of GO from SPN fans kinda hilarious and hypocritical.

Sure. He could be. Funny how sometimes at some point people may see the light regarding their characters and realise that the story works better if they are together - at least Neil Gaiman was able to follow through, unlike Bobo Berens and Andrew Dabb who had their vision shat on by the CW.

Maybe he is exaggerating about what exactly he and Terry plotted out. He's protective of Terry's memory but clearly also painfully aware of how rabid the fans are and has gone a bit overboard in reassuring them. How many lies have you been told by the creators of SPN? How many times have Jackles and Mollins lied to you? Queerbaited you? Mocked you? Have you ever heard of a little thing called growth?

If you are gonna be critical about GO and Neil Gaiman, by all means go ahead. But DO NOT then sit there in the same breath and say SPN was better, that SPN had your back, or sing SPNs praises in any way.

Both shows have good and bad moments. Both sets of creators have lied at times, and tried to do whats best for their fans at times. Both shows are filled to the fucking brim with fanservice - at least GO didn't mock and ridicule its fans by either portraying them all as sad loser men, obsessive stalkers, or teenage girls who are a bit too obsessed with the sappier moments to be taken seriously. The fandom inserts in GO were older, wiser, calmer, and rather badass lesbians actually. I thought that was pretty neat.

I'm not even a huge Neil Gaiman stan, find most of his asks cringe (and often wonder if he picks out the cringier ones specifically to toy with and mock the fandom) and def find some of his explanations surrounding the origins of the GO sequel contradictory and nonsensical. Whilst he is a great fantasy writer, he isn't the best at screenwriting imo. He is also rubbish at comedy and needs support on that always. It is very clear to me that he has absorbed some of the tumblr mentality in his later years, as this is apparant to me in both GO and the Sandman, and yet, as someone who rather loves the tumblr mentality, I'm all for it. I think he is maybe trying a bit TOO hard to appeal to the tumblr specific queer community which can be alienating for wider audiences (i say this as someone who considers herself very much part of the tumblr specific queer community), and I do sometimes wonder if there is something a little bit disengenuous on his side about that, because, well, how much can an older cishet white man ever really understand the overly millennial/Gen Z queer majority AFAB leaning tumblr space? I do think some people have really got to crawl out of Neil Gaiman's ass because he is not your God. He is just a guy.

But I also think a lot of the hate thrown his way is unnecessary. A lot of people's gripes about him seem to be complaints that he is too wrapped up in tumblr culture. Which is an ironic criticism to come from tumblr users. If you hated GOS2 that's totally fine. But if you hated it and then proudly proclaim that "Supernatural did it first" "Supernatural did it better" or just "Supernatural was the best and Good Omens will never be Supernatural". Please, for the love of God, shut the fuck up. Supernatural was heavily influenced BY Good Omens, and the Sandman. Supernatural was so braizen in its stealing ideas from GO and the Sandman that it even stole one of the main characters NAMES.

As a long time SPN fan, any SPN fans ever claiming Neil Gaiman stole ideas from SPN is a fucking embarassment to the rest of the SPN fandom. By all means criticise Gaiman's work to your hearts content, but at least criticise it correctly and leave the hypocrisy at the door.

what a coincidence, certainly not indicative of who the majority of Clyde stans (or even fans) are, nope. definitely DOESN'T explain why so many Clyde fans are rude, pretentious, and prone to projection ("we're the REAL Claude fans!! everyone who doesn't like Clyde never REALLY liked Claude!!" sure bud tell yourself that) i promise.

Basically, yeah. They think it's "the real him", citing that one interview (that didn't actually say Claude was planned to be super shady, just that he wasn't quite as "good" as he turned out to be (but the final version is obviously something they were comfortable and satisifed with or they wouldn't have bothered).

Apparently they think it's "good" because he's "only invading Faerghus and killing their people to get to and kill Rhea, who is Very BaD". From almost every person in support of GW Claude, it's an extremely tunnel visioned mindset of the ends justifying the means only as long as Rhea is killed... and as someone who has been actively part of Joe Z's community for about three years now, I can absolutely without question and with full confidence tell you that most of the Claude community absolutely despises Rhea and takes full enjoyment of the idea of Claude murdering her.

Yes, I am being serious and no, I am not exaggerating. I was in his livestreams on Twitch so I could see the chat. Some of the shit I've seen is pretty appalling honestly. I love Joe, but his takes on Claude were a bit sketchy for me because he was part of the "let's go kill Rhea because she's evil" brigade. The Claude community at large typically knows of his content, but it's not just his community and it's not just the people outside of his community - it's both.

You're completely right about the Claude stans too, sadly. Not all Claude fans do that, not even all GW Claude fans, but I've seen my faaair share of "we're the real fans" and "you don't understand him" from people who prefer his behavior in Hopes. Apparently they wholly missed the part where Hopes was an AU, or maybe they just imagined the eye patch on Dimitri the whole time and never noticed.

I don't have a problem with people liking the writing or liking that version of Claude, but most of the ones I've met or seen posts from are like... very pushy and aggressive about it. Thankfully most of them did catch the racist understones and don't support that, i.e. actual Claude fans and not uwugard stans, though of course uwugard stans don't care about that at all because yes, certainly, let the brown man be questionable and do evil things for our Totally Not Evil white waifu. Yaaaawn.

It also really sucks because I only know a few people who liked GW Claude without liking him in a hypocritcal way. Like sure, you can find it interesting and still like him while understanding what he did wasn't good or justifiable (justifiable because he did not choose violence as a last resort in any of his battles, whether they were fights he picked/started or not). The closest he came was begging his abusive, hateful brother to stop fighting him, which was... uh... yeah, okay). It's just that the ones who now think they're the "true fans" are very loud and mean.

Like nah, I'm gonna keep liking my big brained Claude who can fight his battles with words and secrecy. Everyone else is doing the violence thing, so I'm perfectly happy with Claude being the outlier and being the unexpectedly different one. I happen to like the contrast in his personality, wanting to bring people together and make everyone happy pappy sunshine and rainbowy friends, while still having that fear of rejection, of being hated and feeling the need to be sneaky and secretive because he's paranoid. I like the guy who makes poisons that are "relatively harmelss" and sleeps with a knife under his pillow, but who also wants to be lighthearted, learn to love others and be loved in return for the first time in his life. That was a fun, interesting, detailed character.

Pretty sure I'm a "true Claude fan" just like the next guy who likes GW Claude but isn't a dick to other people about it.
