Personally I think that ‘good queer representation’ does not have to mean the character in question has a romantic relationship during the story, and in fact characters who are single yet happily queer, or single and still in the process of coming out to themselves and their loved ones, are still valid and important.

#st tags are annoying me #Robin existing as a single lesbian who is openly and happily attracted to women and talks about that freely w a friend she trusts #is GOOD and refreshing content #as a perpetually single queer gal especially #and I’m still internally crying happy tears at jonathan telling will there’s nothing in the world that will make him stop loving him #and just picturing Joyce saying the same thing when will tells her #and her saying ‘baby I’m so sorry this world is so unkind to you but I will be beside you every step of your journey’#and the very concept of Joyce marching with PFLAG at pride events in future with a PROUD OF MY GAY SON sign #I’m blubbering will byers has an accepting loving family in the 1980s that’s so good #coming out stories don’t always involve dating #sometimes you figure it out within yourself alone and that’s valid #not saying it’s a perfect show just saying there’s more than one kind of queer story #and that includes queer singledom #I’m not telling anyone their personal feelings about the show are invalid though don’t come at me

The house on the left corner there is 169 Clinton Street (circa 1935), Brooklyn, where H. P. Lovecraft stayed 1924-1926. The area’s multiculturalism horrified him so much he had to write The Horror at Red Hook (1927) about it.

i hate how people can just easily erase and forget and overlook a platonic relationship that had key importance to the show/movie they're apart of, like people talk about them at first, but when the second a romantic relationship is "more important" to talk about, most of the fandom drops it and forgets it when it's convenient for them because apparently it's not as important as romance 😒

#i mean for fear street. the amount of gifsets platonic relationships like deena and josh & ziggy and cindy & simon and kate is so little #from what I'VE seen personally #oh and let's not forget the tw writers AND fandom just completely forgetting scott and stiles relationship to make st*dia more important #and as much as i love DK the second season 4 came around everyone just forgot “platonic relationships? don't know them”#and i'm someone who always puts on their queercoded glasses for certain ships but that's not the point #like DK can have their romance but why put platonic relationships like dick & rachel and kory & gar on the backburner for that to happen #or st fandom trying to minimize steve and robin's dynamic #especially by making robin as steve's sidekick and to be his wingwoman whenever it's about st*ddie or st*ncy and it's exhausting #like completely missing the mark on their dynamic entirely. like when we HAVE platonic relationships they're just overlooked and minimized #it's not fair tbh.#and trust me. this is coming from someone who has multiple otp tags for a REASON #people just can't let other relationships coexist with romance and it's annoying and i need it to die #jaiden rants

So like, I know rationally that language evolves, but like. I think some ppl genuinely don't understand what these words are supposed to mean in the first place so I'm gonna hop on my soapbox for a sec here.

Trauma Bond: A form of *manipulation* seen in *psychological abuse* akin to stolkholm syndrome. It bonds a victim to an abuser. It is *not* a friendship formed when you're both in danger.

Intrusive Thought: An unwanted thought that goes against your morals and that disturbs the person who experiences it. It is not an inpulse to do something kind of dumb or that's a waste of money. Think "what if I kill my cat in my sleep" not "part of me wants to buy a massive garfield plushie"

someone else in my life needs to watch both the owl house and stranger things bc I NEED to talk about how toh did so well with willow and hunter what st4 tried and didn’t super succeed to do with mike and el and how the monologue scene had so much potential but was executed so poorly bc mike was simply not his own character this season and also the duffers need cowriters. like the emotional process of watching the owl house for me is just like step 1. “wow this is incredible I’m an absolute emotional mess!! i don’t like cross tagging things that aren’t specifically byler related but my elmax posts get insanely higher engagement if i put them in the byler tag like……… bylers if you like elmax that much then i suggest occasionally checking the elmax tag
