Jason Gideon x Reader (fight + smut)
Warnings: smut, +18, a bit of cursing
Summary: Basically Jason says something hurtful to the Reader, and has to beg for her forgiveness.
It’s not my best work but it won’t get any better, so here it is. Constructive criticism always welcome!
The gif isn’t mine!
Tumblr media
His head was pounding. The last case had certainly been rough. Child cases were always rough. And so he was in his office, thinking about said case, going over it, again and again. Sure, it had been a happy ending, but a lot of mistakes were made.
Half an hour later, his head felt like it was about to explode. The door to his office opened, and an agent came in. He didn’t even bother looking up before asking a “What?!” quite rudely.
“Love, are you okay? I know child cases are rough, but you look like you need a pick me up.”
Only when he heard her voice did he look up. She was looking stunningly gorgeous, as always. He looked at her for half a second before saying,
“I’m fine, you can go home.”
She very clearly frowned at that. It didn’t make much sense, because he had never treated her that way, nor did he ever tell her to go home without him. He had always been so sweet and touchy with her. To the point that some might call him ‘clingy’, even though she would never. It was their way of loving each other. Their love language was and still is physical touch. She loved him for that.
So she came closer to him, and touched his arm affectionately.
“Are you sure? I can stay if you’d like.” She smiled, with a smile that could light up the whole town. But he didn’t see it, because he wasn’t looking at her.
He pulled away, and for the first time in all the years they had known each other he snapped at her.
“Will you just go home? I need to be alone, and you’re not helping.” She was surprised, to say the least. A little bit offended too, though she couldn’t hold it over his head. Everyone needed some alone time every now and then. That didn’t make the whole situation any less weird.
He usually loved her touch, and now he looked disgusted by it. The way he had pulled away from her, as if her touch was capable of killing him, made no sense to her.
“What’s going on with you? You’re never like this!”
Normally she wouldn’t have gone against his wishes, because as a reasonable and logical person, she could see that needing time alone was a perfectly normal thing. But it was his reaction at her that made her stay. She didn’t want to leave the conversation like that, because then, when she got home, she would definitely overthink this whole thing.
He stood up and hit the table hard, so fast that if she had blinked she would’ve missed it.
“I told you that I need to be alone! God, why are you so fucking clingy?”
And just like that, she felt a thousand new holes in her heart appear. Sure, she had been told before that she was a little too touchy, but he was the only person that loved her being touchy. He was the only one that reciprocated her touch equally. Without him, what did she have in this world?
She took a step back, in shock.
Realising what he had said, he tried to get to her. But she kept her distance.
“Wow. I expected that from a lot of people, but not from you. Never from you.”
He tried to get to her again when he saw her deep, beautiful, full of life eyes filled with tears. He never had wanted to hurt her. She was his everything. He was nothing without her.
And now, his companion, his best friend, his partner, the love of his life was looking at him like he had shattered her heart. And he had.
He stayed still, not wanting her to walk further away.
“I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you.” He tried to get her to see how much he meant those words. But she didn’t care.
“Yes, you did. Otherwise you wouldn’t have said that to begin with.” Her voice clearly trembled as she turned around and went for the door.
He got to her first, and grabbed her wrist.
“I promise you I didn’t mean it. Please.” She didn’t know what he was begging for. She just knew that she had to get out of there.
And in her heartbroken state, she couldn’t see how terrified he was of her going away.
“Please, let me go.” She said. He couldn’t. Even if he could, he wouldn’t. He kept his grip on her firm, and when he spoke his voice was trembling.
“I can’t. You’re my everything. I won’t make it out here without you.”
She shook her head. In her mind, if that were true, then he would’ve never put them both in this position to begin with. She also didn’t catch the phrasing when he said he ‘won’t’ make it out. He meant that he had no intention whatsoever of making it out without her. He wouldn’t even try.
He took her face in his hands and kissed her, trying to make her remember. Remember how much they loved each other, and how much they needed each other. At least he did. He wiped her tears with his thumb, hating himself for being the cause of her distress and making her think that he didn’t love every single piece of her.
She tried to free herself, before the kiss changed her mind, but his grip was ironclad on her. When he saw that his words didn’t have any effect on her, he fell on his knees. At this point he was desperate. He could feel her slipping away through his fingers, and he was desperate to stop her from leaving.
“Jason. Let me go. I need to be alone.” She was being a little bit petty, because she didn’t say that because she truly needed to be alone, she said it because he had used that excuse on her, right before this mess.
It had the desired effect. He froze, and he saw no choice but to let her go. He wouldn’t force her to be close to him if she didn’t want to.
And so he let her go. In two big strides she was already gone. And he felt more alone than he had ever felt in his whole life.
He knew that he was alone from now on. She finally saw who he was, how old he was, and the fact that as gorgeous, as funny, as smart as she was, she could have whoever she wanted. And he knew that she realised that she didn’t have to settle with him. He knew that it was true, she deserved someone her age, someone just as attractive, just as funny as her. And he knew that wasn’t him.
He wiped the tears that he didn’t know he had streaming down his cheeks. He got up and left the office. He knew that she had all the right in the world to be alone, so he reserved a room at the closest hotel to the Bureau's offices.
He didn’t know that, even as disappointed as she was, being a hopeless romantic, she wanted him to come after her, to throw pebbles at her window screaming “I’m in love with you”. She wanted him at the other side of her door, pledging his undying love for her.
Three full days had gone by without the couple contacting each other. Neither of them slept either nights. He was going crazy. Only now did he realise how truly touch starved he was, and how much he missed her.
After the initial wave of raging emotions had passed, she could think clearly again. She thought about calling him, about trying to work things out. After all, anyone could have a bad day, and she hadn’t exactly listened to him when he had asked her to leave him alone for a while.
The problem is that she felt personally attacked when he had called her ‘clingy’. She was told before that she was too clingy, and that caused her to retreat into herself. She became distant and pushed everyone away for fear of being ‘too much’. It had been a problem since her early teenage years. She didn’t know if it was the bad mood talking or if that was actually what he felt, what he had been feeling for all the time they were together.
After a while she came to the conclusion that that wasn’t possible. She remembered things that she couldn’t remember when she was in front of him. He had initiated touch with her several times. Anytime she touched him he always leaned against her. He loved hugging her, he loved kissing her. He treated her like a queen, and she definitely treated him like a king. It was the treatment he deserved. When they had sex, it was the most magical thing ever, and she knew for a fact that it was the same for him. He had never made any excuses to avoid touching her or to avoid her touch.
That was when the guilt began to appear. She had been most certainly harsh with him. She didn’t take his need for some time alone seriously, and that led to him snapping at her. Which was wrong, but she understood. Mistakes happen. It wasn’t worth throwing away their once in a lifetime relationship. She thought of calling him, but then told herself that something like this should be told in person.
The next morning, when she arrived at the office, he was already there, on his desk. She could see him through the blinds. He looked stunning, but he also looked tired. Very tired.
He had been trying to work for the past two hours, without any success. He couldn’t stop thinking about her, her smile, her sarcastic remarks, her beauty.
Suddenly, the door opened, and she appeared. For a heartbeat he thought that he might’ve been hallucinating. But she was truly there.
He didn’t dare to speak. If they had been married, he was certain she would have been serving the divorce papers by now.
“I think we need to talk,” she said. “Is this a good moment?”
He definitely took notice of the fact that she never had asked that question before. Because he had made it very clear that ‘always’ was the answer for her. And he hated himself for making her think that she had to ask that question.
“Always. It’s always a good moment for you.” He didn’t dare to move, just in case he frightened her, so she was the one that came closer, and sat down on one of the chairs in front of his desk.
“I’m aware that I should’ve respected your desire to be alone, but that doesn’t excuse what you said,” she said. She waited for his reaction, because after that fight she wasn’t sure how he would react.
“You’re right. Even if I wanted to be alone, I never should’ve treated you that way. You deserve better,” he paused, and then realised that most men said that as a way of breaking up, so he continued, “I’m not saying this to break up. I know you deserve better, but I’m too selfish to let you go.” He was surprised to see her smile at that.
“I don’t think this fight is worth throwing our relationship away. I understand that people make mistakes. And I do believe in second chances.” He closed his eyes, while relief overwhelmed him. “I don’t do third chances, though. I admit I’m at fault too, but if you ever use my insecurities against me again I will kick you out of my life.”
He stood up. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“I didn’t use your insecurities against you.” She frowned, but before she could say anything, he continued talking. “I said something terrible, but I didn’t say it with your insecurities in mind. I’m not trying to excuse myself, I hate myself for hurting the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I just wanted you to know, I would never do that.”
She understood what he meant. He lashed out at her, but he didn’t call her ‘clingy’ with her insecurity in mind. That made things only a little less worse. And his grovelling was making her feel a little bit better.
She stood up too, walked around the desk until she was right in front of him.
“Again, I know this was partly my fault. But if you ever say anything like that again… I don’t think I’ll be able to continue the relationship.” She wanted to make him understand that while she did admit that she shouldn’t have pressured him, which is what caused him to snap. But he shouldn’t have said the things he said. Ever. And that meant that this was his last chance.
“I thought you wouldn’t want to continue the relationship now, given what that insult means to you…” She was close enough to him that he could kiss her and hug her, but he didn’t know how she would take that. “I’m really glad that you’re able to forgive me, though.”
She was really close to him. And he wanted to kiss her, more than anything he had ever wanted. She was smiling at him, and he thought to himself that he couldn’t wait any longer, and if she had forgiven him then she would probably let him kiss her.
So he did. He leaned towards her and their lips met. It was a sweet, slow kiss. Until she decided she wanted more. She deepened the kiss and suddenly they were straight up making out. Their tongues met, and he relished on her flavour. He couldn’t resist and pushed her gently towards his desk, and laid her down. Kissing her stomach, he unbuttoned her pants and took them off. The door wasn’t even locked, but neither of them wanted to lock it. It made everything more exciting.
He kissed her thighs, licked and even bit them, while she whimpered at his touch, which made him smile. He took his time before kissing her labia, and then sucked it. She started to moan loudly, and so he whispered against her vagina, saying “be quiet, we can’t let everyone know what we’re doing in here.” His whisper turned her even more on than she already was. She felt his breath on her vagina, and she was hot everywhere. She needed his touch everywhere.
By the time he was penetrating her, she was a complete mess. A gorgeous mess in his eyes, but still a mess. The mess that he wanted. And he would never let her go.
She felt just as good as their first time together. People say that after the honeymoon phase of the relationship is over, then everything changes, including sex. That had never happened to them. And he loved that. He loved that she screamed his name just as loud as she did their first time. He loved that he still got red scratches on his back due to her passion.
The moment he penetrated her, her hands went straight to his back, to get ahold of him, while at the same time scratching him. Her nails trailed from up to down his back, with a lot of strength, leaving marks behind.
The way he was filling her up meant that she would orgasm very soon. Especially because he knew what he was doing. He was kissing her neck, sucking and licking, while one of his hands was gripping her thigh with an iron grip, and his other hand was on her clit, which he found effortlessly. Massaging her, his calloused hands on her clit were driving her insane.
In those 20 minutes she came several times, and she came hard. It was mind blowing, like it always was with him.

Criminal Minds Master List
Samantha Reid was born the twin sister of Doctor Spencer Reid. And while they were both on equal footing intellectually, she was always more socially adept.
But both of them made it into the FBI. That's not to say that there weren't some exceptions made for Dr. Spencer Reid...but that's another story.
Tumblr media
And then there's Anastasia Garcia, the older sister of Penelope, and a star field agent as well as the liaison for one of the other BAU teams. Before she was with the bureau though, she worked for Interpol, and before that, she was a detective in California, working with her controlling boyfriend and fellow detective Brent Smith.
Tumblr media
And then there is Vanessa Jareau, the youngest Jareau, and tech analyst extraordinaire for one of the other BAU teams. She's witty and fun, but far too socially awkward to talk to anyone outside of her sister, and best friend, Penelope Garcia.
Tumblr media
What do all three of these women have in common aside from the fact that they work in the BAU?
They're all falling in love with the men of the BAU over the course of their careers.
But everything isn't always easy at Quantico.
It's full of secrets.
And Criminal Minds.

Jason Gideon reminds me of Will Graham, they are both plagued by their intense and overwhelming understanding of humanity. Empathy is a gift, but it's also a curse. How many lives did they save? And yet saving those lives ruined theirs.

Character Playlists: BAU Edition: P2
Part 1 of ?: Reid
Second of an Untold Number: Gideon
Isle of Flightless Birds by Twenty One Pilots
Initial Inspiration: And it’s time you pick your battle, and I promise you this is mine
Explanation: Technically, probably every line is equally apt, but the last line in particular seemed relevant.  Mostly, I’m thinking of Gideon’s final days with the BAU.
Dead Hearts by Stars
Initial Inspiration: They were kids that I once knew/Now they’re all dead hearts to you
Explanation: Again, the entire song and vibe say “Gideon” to me, but the chorus especially.
Sound the Bugle by Bryan Adams
Initial Inspiration: Now I can’t go on, I can’t even start/I got nothing left, just an empty heart
Explanation: After Gideon loses Sarah, he and Spirit (the eponymous horse from Spirit:Stallion of the Cimarron) are basically in the same mental and emotional place.  This song and his goodbye letter feel like they’re cut from the same cloth, hence the inclusion.
Got My Mind Set On You by George Harrison (Cover)
Initial Inspiration: It’s gonna take patience and time/Mmm, to do it (x5) to do it right
Explanation: Harrison’s cover is so upbeat and catchy, which I think is a fun juxtaposition to A. Pursuing serial killers/criminals or B. Pursuing someone for good reasons (like romantic or other)
Somewhere Only We Know by Lily Allen or Keane
Initial Inspiration: I’m getting old and I need something to rely on. . ./I’m getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
Explanation:  From the viewer’s introduction to Gideon in the wake of his leave of absence and the death of the six, he’s a man near/at the end of his rope.  To me, whether sung by Lily Allen or Keane, this song speaks to the mental place Gideon inhabits, particularly toward the end.
Message in a Bottle by The Police
Initial Inspiration: Love can mend your life, but love can break your heart
Explanation: Sarah’s loss might have been one of the reasons Gideon left, but the team was the reason he came back/stayed before, and Stephen had to be one of the reasons Gideon didn’t commit suicide.  Despite all the darkness, things got better for Gideon.
One Night in Bangkok by Murray Head
Initial Inspiration:  One town’s very like another/When your head’s down over your pieces, brother. . .It’s really such a pity/To be looking at the board not looking at the city.
Explanation:  Chess?  The Ultimate Test of Cerebral Fitness?  The knife’s edge between winning and losing and ignoring the place for the people?  I don’t know how I could exclude this.  Never forget, chess was Gideon’s game first.
House on a Hill by The Pretty Reckless
Initial Inspiration: But the children are doing fine/I think about them all the time
Explanation: As dark as this song can be, and it’s apt in that regard too, this reminded me of Gideon’s Saved/Success pictures.
Human by Rag’n’Bone Man
Initial Inspiration: I’m only human, I do what I can
Explanation: The BAU team can seem superhuman—comes with the TV show territory—but I think it’s worth remembering that they’re only human, and Gideon especially can back from a painful case.
Cat’s in the Cradle by Harry Chapin
Initial Inspiration: “When you comin’ home, Dad?”/I don’t know when, but we’ll get together them/You know we’ll have a good time then.”
Explanation: For Gideon, not Hotch or Rossi, or any of the others.  Because Gideon really did put his work/the killers and victims first for so very many years.  To a certain extent, in later seasons, you could say Reid is fulfilling the role of the son, but Stephen is also good.
Suicide is Painless by Johnny Mandel
Initial Inspiration: Suicide is painless/It brings on many changes/I can take or leave it if I please
Explanation: Like many of Gideon’s tracks, it’s the vibes more than the lyrics, but fitting for the final song here and how he left, I think this one.  Might be the influence of M*A*S*H* that suggests this one for him, but c’est la vie.

Criminal Minds, Season 1, Episode 9, Part 2
Word Count: 2k
Warnings:  angst, gun violence, mention of death.
Tumblr media
Samantha Reid
“Alright kid, you can do it.”
You looked back at Aaron, instantly needing him to tell Spencer that he couldn’t.  But he remained quiet.  He put his hands on his hips and gave both your brother and Morgan a firm look, “what happened to the practice?”
“He’s not getting it,” Spencer said quickly, hoping that he would be able to jump in and do it, “Hotch, trust me.  I know I can do this.”
“We only have one shot at this,” he answered, holding up the miniscule chip, “are you sure that you’re able to do it?”
Spencer nodded, taking it in his hands, “I got this.”
You watched as your brother went to do the trick, but the chip fumbled to the ground.
Your heart plummeted into the pit of your stomach.  You wrapped your arms around yourself, “I-I don’t think this is a good idea.”
“Of course it is.  I’ve just never worked with something this small,” he said quickly, blowing the dust off the chip and trying again, only for it to fall back onto the ground.  You could hear the sighs from Hotch, Morgan, and Gideon.  You tried to look at each one of them for help, “guys I can do this.”
“Spencer, if you can’t do this, he’ll kill you!” you answered quickly, when none of the men were willing to say anything, “he’s in a psychotic rage.  He’s delusional and he’s got no problem killing some scrawny looking kid who’s claiming he’s a technician if he gets tricked!”
“I can do this, Sammy!” he growled, trying the trick yet again.  He cursed when it fell to the ground, “see what you’re making me do.  I need to focus.”
“You’re going to get yourself killed!”
“I’m not!” he spat.  He glared at you, “why can’t you be okay with me doing this, Samantha?  You’re my twin sister.  You should have the most faith in my capabilities!”
“Spencer-“
“I need to do this, Samantha!” he said, cutting you off, “you don’t get it.  I have to do this!”
“Let someone else-“
“NO!  Don’t tell me what to do!” he said quickly, “I’m the older sibling.  I-“
“You’re two minutes older than me and only because the doctors pulled you out first!”
“Well I’m smarter and-“
“You’re an ass!”
“I HAVE TO DO THIS!” he all but yelled at you, “You’ve always been able to keep up with me, but you’ve also always been better than me in the field.  Always more physical.  More social.  Could take on assignments and got more opportunities.  And friends.  I have to do this, Samantha.”
“I’m not going to stand here and watch you die then!” you whimpered, making your way away from the tent and towards the command center.  Spencer didn’t bother to stop you when you left the area.
He didn’t bother to come after you when you went to the back of the command center that had a small room where you closed the door and pinned yourself in the far corner.
You allowed yourself to slide down against the wall.
With every inch, you found your anxiety and sadness swelling around you.
Your heart ached with the thought that in a few minutes your twin brother would board a train and try to trick a delusional schizophrenic.
And his final words were blaming you for it.
He had to do it, to prove that he could keep up with you.
Had someone said something to him about his shortcomings with physicality in the field?
You looked up when the door opened.
You half-expected and hoped that it would be your brother.
But your throat went dry when you saw Aaron standing there.
He looked all business.
Until he closed the door behind him and rushed over to you.
“It’s all my fault!” you cried as he came to his knees and wrapped his arms around you, “Spencer’s going to go in there and that psycho is going to blow a hole righ-“
“Honey, none of it is your fault.  No-“
“He’s doing it because he said he has to, Aaron,” you whimpered, pulling away from him, “because he felt like he has to keep up with me in the field...Spencer’s doing this because of me...”
“Samantha, this is your job.  It’s his job,” he reminded you, “you can’t fault him for wanting to take the opportunity where he shines...he wants to get Elle and your team member out of there just as much as the rest of us.”
“He’s being stupid...he just wants to be the hero.”
“Funny...I remember him saying that when you agreed to take on the Quantico Killer with us when you were just a probationary agent in training.”
“It’s not the same,” you whimpered as he started rubbing the tears from your cheeks.  He raised a brow, but he said nothing as you repeated it, “Aaron...it’s not the same!”
“Isn’t it?”
“Sammy, this is stupid...yo-you’re being stupid!”
“I am not!” you argued, “I’m doing this because it’s what needs to be done, Spence.”
“Then let someone else do it!” he retorted, “Someone that has training and experience in the field.  We haven’t even graduated the academy.”
“And the killer did this!” you reminded him, gesturing to the board, “he came into our backyard, Spence.  He put the victims there.”
“And you ran out into an active firing range, finding them when they were set up there to die!” he reminded you, “isn’t that enough?  You found victims, Sammy.”
“We need to stop him!  And SSA’s Gideon and Hotchner asked me to be part of the team!”
“You’re being stupid, Sammy,” he argued once more, “y-you’re trying to play hero, and for what?  To prove that you’re better than someone or something?  To-“
“I AM!” you all but screamed at your twin brother, “god, what will it take for you to see me as an equal instead of your baby sister?”
“You are my baby sister!”
“And I’m your equal!” you reminded him, “I’m just as smart as you.  I’m just as important as you are!”
“I never said that you weren’t!”
“Bullshit!” you scoffed, tears lining your eyes, “you and mom loved throwing it in my face that I wasn’t in your little circle.  When dad left, my whole world left.  You and mom had your own little galaxy that I wasn’t a part of!”
“S-Sammy...yes you were...”
“No I wasn’t!” you cried, “you and mom had your stories...I exceled in school just like you did, but me and dad...we had sports.  He coached our tee-ball team.  He got me into soccer.  He got me into Judo.  When dad left, that all became background noise.  You and mom spent time reading stories while I walked to the park to go to practice or have games at the field.  You guys weren’t there to see me win the state champs with my soccer team, or when I got my black belt in Judo!  I was alone.”
“S-Sammy-“
“Do-don’t touch me,” you cried, pushing your brother’s hand away, “don’t touch me, Spence.  I’m not a baby that needs coddled.”
“I’m not trying to treat you like a baby,” he said softly, reaching out once more, “I’m reaching out to my twin sister...because she needs me...and I need her.”
“Wh-what?”
“I-Sammy, I’m not good with speaking about emotions,” he answered sadly, tears lining his own eyes, “but-but what I do know is that I never meant to make you feel that way.  I-you’re my twin sister.  We came into this world together.  And I-I don’t want you leaving it and me to be here without you.”
“Spence...”
“You are my baby sister, but you are also my equal,” he began, “you’re just as smart and important as I am.  You’re kind and sweet...and loving.  You have the ability to show the empathy that I feel too, but can’t express in regular ways.  Sammy...ther-there’s a lot of ways that you’re better than me too...I don’t want you thinking that I don’t value you.  I love you so much.”
“I have to do this, Spence...” you whimpered, allowing yourself to fall into your twin’s arms, “I have to, Spence.”
“Just-please...come back to me in one peace,” he begged as he held onto you, “we lost dad...and mom...you’re the only one I have Sammy...I-and I can’t lose you too!”
“Samantha...”
“I can’t lose him, Aaron...”
“I think you need to tell him that!” he answered softly, pressing a kiss to your temple.  You sniffled and nodded, allowing him to pick you up off the floor.  You gave him a sad look and he pressed a kiss to your forehead, “you need to tell your brother that, honey...because you and I know that we’re too far in.  We can’t call this off.”
You nodded and leaned up to press a small kiss to his lips.  His arms found their way around your waist, and you looped yours around his neck.  He sighed and leaned his forehead against yours when you pulled away, “you’re too good a man, Aaron Hotchner...”
“Go tell your brother what you need to say, Samantha.”
You nodded once more, and he let you go.  You brushed past him and made your way out of the command center, Aaron on your heels.  When you saw Spencer at the tent, still practicing your heart raced.
Gideon and Morgan looked at you, and Hotchner rejoined the team.
And then your brother turned, freezing in his place.
The two of you shared a look.
“C-can I talk to my brother for a second?” you asked softly.
There were a number of mumbles and everyone departed, splitting off into little groups to go inform the snipers and other officers that the rouse would be starting in a few minutes.
Spencer didn’t move an inch.
You flinched when one of the walkies went off on the table between the two of you.
“I-I’m not going to back down, Sammy.”
“I know,” you said slowly, your eyes not meeting his again.  You looked down at the table and turned the walkie off, “I-I know why you have to do this, Spence...”
“You do?”
“My first assignment!” Some scuffling from in front of you brought your eyes to his.  They were filled with tears.  You bit your lip, “yo-you better come back to me...”
“I will!”
“We lost dad...a-and mom...”
“You won’t lose me, Sammy.”
“God, I can’t lose you, Spence!” you whimpered, the tears restarting once more.  A few slid down your cheeks and you sniffled, “I-we came into this world together...y-you don’t get to leave me now...”
“Actually, I came into the world two minutes before you!” he reminded you with his own teary reply.
“The doctor pulled you out of mom two minutes before me, you ignoramus.”
“That still makes me older...”
“Doesn’t make you any wiser.”
“Tell that to the IQ tests!” he remarked smartly.
“Hey...is everything okay here?”
You nodded, wiping away the tears once more.  Gideon looked between the two of you, and Spencer stepped towards him, “I’m good to go.”
“Alright,” he answered, reaching out to him, “you get in there.  You do it...then you make a quick exit...like we talked about.”
“Got it!” he nodded.
You felt another pair of arms wrapping around your waist, and then Aaron was sweeping you into the command center with a number of other agents, including your own team leader.  She rubbed your shoulder as everyone loomed around the monitors, watching the footage of your brother entering the train and performing his trick.
But he’d removed his vest to prove that he could be trusted...and things turned sour when the unsub fell into another wave of his delusions.  One of the hostages stood and everything felt like a blur as a Spencer got in the way, trying to de-escalate the situation.
And then you heard a gunshot ring out.
And then another.
Instinctively, you turned into Aaron’s chest, fearing for the worst.  Your tears stained his jacket.  You sobbed into his chest and he held you.  When you went to look at the monitor he kept your head turned away, “you don’t need to see this, honey.”

Criminal Minds October Prompt List - whump
Tumblr media
Banner by @theshyshewolf
Good evening loves! We made it to October! This is a big deal for me because it marks me being back on Tumblr for a whole year writing for Criminal Minds. Also, very exciting because October means WHUMP, which is my favorite type of fic to write! This prompt list is inspired by the always amazing, @imagining-in-the-margins, who always make the best prompt lists. I won’t write for all of my prompts, but I might for a few. For obvious reasons the theme for this list is whump; however, I’m not a huge no-happy-ending type person, so if you want to take a prompt and give it a happy ending instead of a tragic one, you have my full approval. After all, this list is just to inspire a thought or idea.
The rules for using these prompts are that there are no rules! You could use any Criminal Minds characters, OCs, reader inserts, etc. You could draw, write, make mood boards, or imagine anything else. I have included 30 prompts for each day of the month. I also added some character/episode-specific prompts too. If any of these prompts inspire you to create, I’d love to be tagged to see what you have made. This is all just for fun. I wish everyone a great start to the month. Please know I’m proud of you wherever you are right now - Love Levi ❤️
You can find all the prompts below the cut [also, please read the tags to avoid any triggering content in the prompts.]

Aaron Hotchner had more chemistry with John Blackwolf and Madam Bouvier in a single episode each, than he did with Haley in 5+ seasons.
