I think a decade ago I saw someone (maybe elanorpam?) write Karkat as a mutant red blood sea dweller in an AU? And I think it would be perfect for Luo Binghe. He would have the physical fortitude of a sea dweller while still being ostracized for being a mutant. (Also if you want to share quadrant talk I am all ears :))

YES i don't know that au but that's kind of exactly what i was imagining, a Luo Binghe as a mutant sea dweller. exactly what you're saying about the physical fortitude and being ostracized, plus him basically being a fuchsia and not realizing would be a good analogue for him not knowing he's a heavenly demon

bingqiu is redrom! when they were at the peak of their Problems Era, there was probably some quadrant confusion, but by the end of the story they are firmly in redrom zone

liushen is flushed for lqg and pale for sqq. poor liu qingge, getting palezoned. i think sqq is probably clueless that lqg might have flushed feelings for him

bingliu are Toxic Kismeses, which makes them the perfect candidates for your textbook ashen relationship with sqq as their third. they would probably kill each other if not for their mutual affection for sqq, and his platonic meddling in their relationship makes sure their pitch flirting remains nonlethal. they still frequently beat the shit out of each other, but it's in a flirty/horny way instead of a "I want you legitimately dead" way

cumplane are a much more functional pitch relationship. they drive each other nuts but it's in a way that's more like enrichment for them. sometimes you need to bug the bestie until he kisses you to make you shut up. I think they could probably swing pale if the situation called for it. anyone who has followed me since my homestuck days should know I love pitchpale relationships, and I think that's what cumplane is. they're kind of solkat if you think about it. anyway,

moshang is definitely mutually redrom, but they were NOT on the same page about this. mbj smacking sqh around made sqh think he was pitch flirting. sqh trying to appease mbj made mbj think he was pale flirting. it was a whole mess. they probably quadrant smear on occasion, but they are usually redrom!

HE DOES HIS BEST he helps clear shen qingqiu's meridians, whenever shen qingqiu calls for him he SHOWS UP [sobs] like, liu qingge transforms from a tragic noble warrior who died before his time, for a story that has no place for him, someone who exists entirely for his sister (he's beautiful because his sister needs to be beautiful he's powerful so his sister can be powerful, he's killed off so his sister has motivation (LOVE that liu qingge is the dead woman trope btw) his death is placed at the hands of shen qingqiu so his sister can kick off the story's arc....) who's chronological first act in the story is pointing out the protagonist, whom he is always compared to! To a man desperately (unknowingly) trying to find his place in a story that has no room for him.

His sister doesn't need him for motivation any longer because Luo binghe isn't interested in her. He no longer serves the narrative purpose he was supposed to have. And he can't even serve the narrative purpose he's trying to fill because there is simply no room.... in the story. For him.

He's not anyone's fated soul mate, he no longer has a narrative purpose, he isn't a lead, he isn't a love interest. The things he does do... he finds shen qingqiu's fans, he clears shen qingqiu's meridians, he flies shen qingqiu around, he spends years fighting against a demon lord to retrieve shen qingqiu's body but like.... you could cut those pieces out pretty easily. From the story. Because he's not supposed to be there.

hiiiiii so about crow!au and jiuyuan...🙏

i was thinking, after shen yuan has finally made it to the CQM, both for the protagonist and hopefully to cultivate a true human form, it's only logical to keep an eye on the scum villain, you know, to make sure that he isn't going to be filleted into a tender piece of crow meat!

but while shen yuan thinks he's being super inconspicuous, sitting on the roof, shen qingqiu has slowly started to look forward to seeing the crow when he comes back. it's always there, and overall a quiet and gentle creature that doesn't bother anyone, but does seem to like hanging around shen qingqiu's house. maybe in his head shen qingqiu starts to think of it as "his bird", and he starts leaving it bits of food (not obviously, but more like he "accidentally" forgot to bring the dish back inside). he starts getting protective over it too, like one time maybe yue qingyuan comes by and sees the bird, and tries to make it sit on his hand or smth, and shen qingqiu gets all huffy bc "it's just a bird it can't hear you, it won't come to you!"

shen yuan starts to notice that shen qingqiu's mood seems to improve around him (which, huh???), so he plays it up a little bit by flying down from the roof to the porch railing when shen qingqiu comes home, or cawing to him in greeting. shen qingqiu sometimes reaches out his hand to perch on, but though shen yuan never does, it doesn't make sqq angry (sqq knows how difficult trust is to earn), until maybe one day shen yuan surprises them both by perching on his arm, and oh well guess he's the scum villain's bird now??

YEEEEESSSSS JIUYUAN MY BELOVED!!!! Shen Jiu literally just takes Crowyuan with him everywhere after that, with the bird perching on his shoulder or on his arm, or in his lap - there have been many occasions where SY hasn't been able to get comfy so he hops into SJ's lap and uses the man's robes as a nest of sorts. This happens the most at peak lord meetings, because of course SJ takes SY to the peak lord meetings, it's his emotional support crow, and SY sometimes pops his head up from beneath the table and squawks (mainly at Shang Qinghua, who seems petrified of this bird). It gets better when he cultivates a true form because SJ is far too attached to him to let him go at this point, so he just has this beautiful crow guy following him around, clinging to his sleeves and hiding behind him like SY did in crow form before. Of course, he still tries to get comfy on SJ's lap and...listen, SJ lets it happen so it can't be that weird, right??!!? He doesn't like chairs!! They're uncomfortable against his back, and stools just don't cut it for him, so he often sprawls along SJ's legs and reads during a peak lord meeting - nobody quite knows what to say, and they definitely don't want to piss off SJ, so they just kinda let it happen. (Also, if they're enjoying the eye candy, then why would they try and stop it from happening?) Yue Qingyuan is half upset that he's being replaced by a BIRD, and also very pleased that SJ now has a close friend. Also SY just builds mini nests EVERYWHERE, like, all over the peaks, and god forbid you try and touch them because it will mean your death. He gets super mopey when he finds out that his nests have been touched because of course he knows, and when he's mopey EVERYONE knows about it. I like to think that SJ immediately throws all decorum out of the window at the implication of someone upsetting HIS bird...person...thing...WHATEVER!!!

- Sy transmigrates as himself/an npc before binghe makes it to cqms, and spends a lot of his time dodging the plot by being a rogue cultivator. Its on one of his plot-avoiding adventures that he runs into og!Shang Qinghua and inevitably gets dragged into the plot (havent decided if airplane joins the world or nah, but if he did then hes obv a different character)

- Sqh originally only keeps Sy around as a source of information to save his own skin and fully intended to drop him at the earliest convenience, unfortunately the wife beam too strong and sqh slowly finds himself feeling protective of this strange man who keeps running head first into dangerous situations for some 'deus ex machina' that'll help them both

- Sqh does think Sy is some kind of seer btw, because how else would he know so much about things he shouldnt? Sy is 100% down to run with that narrative because it lets him get around the system's punishment protocols for revealing too much.

- Sy is ofc not trusting of Sqh at first cuz all he knows about him is the few throw away lines from PIDW, but after he starts to see just how much the man does and deals with Sy does develop a begrudging respect for Sqh

- Sqh keeps Sy on a pretty short leash even after their relationship improves because hes not about to let anyone else get their hands on someone with so much valuable intel, but he does enjoy sicking Sy on both the demons of Mbj/Lbh's court and his own martial siblings (yknow those 'translator' joke videos online where the translator says what the person really means? Thats Sy for Sqh)

- Sy is required to stay mostly quiet about Lbh's whole abyss arc, but he does make sure sqh falls into 'tolerable' terms with the future emperor to avoid the man's scripted end (and if that leads to some mobing content then thats just the way the ball bounces)

- the sect isnt really sure how to handle Sy at first since hes an unknown rogue element, but they eventually find themselves somewhat endeared to the oblivious man thats apparently bonded with the semi-reclusive an ding lord, especially after he 'stumbles' across sqq and lqg in the caves ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Okay, so, been reading some good scumplane (OG!Shen Qingqiu/Airplane) lately, because in this house we support Airplane being loved by terrifying/terrifyingly hot men, but also, like... I do love Moshang just so so much as a ship.

And all this has awoken a mighty need in me.

A need for a Moshangjiu fic with scumplane getting established first and then bringing our favorite popsicle in on things.

Anyway, scenario! Shen Qingqiu starts noticing Shang Qinghua when they're disciples via the classic scenario of being smart enough to realize something is fishy about SQH being the only survivor of a demon attack, begins paying attention to his most anxious shidi, accidentally shows his most anxious shidi the simplest of Human Kindness, accidentally becomes shidi's favorite shixiong, accidentally becomes friends with shidi, accidentally catches feelings. Continues being a Sneaky Bastard in order to figure out what shidi is up to (and now also to confirm shidi is single).

Ah, shidi is entangled with an Ice Demon. This shixiong will make use of his scholarly peak's library to learn all and then decide to- wait. Wait, it's super violent by human standards, but is it- is this demon attempting to... court shidi?

...

Not if SQQ dates him first he's not!!!

There follows a whirlwind romance between SQQ and SQH where no one really knows what's going on, especially the two involved, it involves a lot of shit talking about everyone else in their lives, snacks, and accidental trauma bonding.

Also Airplane being Airplane and accidentally spilling that not only is he also kinda crushing (bad) on Mobei-jun, but also Mobei-jun's entire backstory and please, shixiong, I know it all looks bad but this shidi's house is literally the only place in the world it's completely safe for his king to sleep, everyone deserves to sleep without having to worry about their relatives murdering them for things that aren't their fault from time to time, right, shixiong???

Shen Qingqiu: ...goddammit, the demon's a fellow sad little meow meow. (only not in these exact words because he doesn't know these phrases, naturally)

In a wild, bold, and - dare I say it - shockingly sexy convolution of thought processes and ideas, SQQ manages to finagle SQH into letting him meet with MBJ (SQH nearly has a heart attack three times in the process but it's fine, it's cool, this is his life, this may as well happen, it's fine-).

SQQ: It has come to my attention that my shidi is spying for you on our sect.

MBJ: (glowering at SQH, who is cowering behind shixiong wondering how he got talked into all this)

SQQ: However it also appears that this is merely a cover story and the only thing you really do is use his room to nap. And also that you are quite fond of him.

SQH: (This is it, this is how I die. Again.)

MBJ: (...if I stare straight ahead and don't change my expression, no one will be able to tell that he's right)

SQQ: So anyway I think you should join Cang Qiong Mountain Sect.

MBJ: (gears grinding)

SQH: (squawking splutters of protest and confusion)

SQQ: (who speaks panicking!SQH at this point) Stop that, it's perfectly reasonable. He has the head disciple of our logistics peak under his thumb, it would be the simplest thing in the world for him to have you throw the sect into absolute chaos without even trying, then organize an attack, swoop in, and crush us all. He could have done it years ago, but he never has, he never even seems to initiate anything. I don't think he even cares about taking the Northern Throne, I think he's just incompetent about wanting to spend time with you. So he might as well just lie low until our shizuns ascend and then I'll take him on as a disciple on Qing Jing and you two can stop sneaking around like idiots.

SQQ: Are you actually opposed?

MBJ: (folds arms and looks away sulkily, because like... it's true but you don't have to say it like that)

This is great, this is fantastic, this is the best day of my life, this- is a long time I'm being allowed to be myself about all this, why is Shen shixiong not interrupting...?

Anyway, he agrees to the plan, SQQ and SQH start dating, some more time passes, the previous generation of peak lords ascend, the new generation take their places, and a week later Mobei-jun is an outer disciple of Qing Jing Peak.

The other peak lords are not amused, Qingqiu that is a demon, no.

SQQ: So what I'm hearing is that whole 'Cang Qiong will accept anyone from anywhere' philosophy was a lie then?

SQQ: Children can't help where they're born. Now if you'll excuse me, I have classes to teach.

First lesson of the day is SQH and SQQ are a package deal, take it or leave it. Second lesson is no canoodling with Shang Shibo until you've finished with lessons and chores for the day. Third lesson is if you see any Bai Zhan disciples hassling our peak's disciples you can break their swords. Just snap 'em in half. Throw them off the peak. Don't kill them, but do make them cry.

SQH, meanwhile, has now seen MBJ in an outer disciple uniform and had a whole bunch of new awakenings on top of all the other things he already knew about himself.

And, in a twist of dramatic irony... Qing Jing's first disciple to ever have demonic heritage decides the dorms are a no-go after one night because, to him, they are broiling hot, how can anyone sleep in this heat, and chooses to go sleep in the wood shed instead.

Cute idea:

-SQH and SY end up chatting over PIDW (after some heated comments which led to heated arguments which led to them talking about what SHOULDVE been PIDW)

-They slowly but surely get to know each other, eventually start meeting up and hanging out

-They do, in fact, fall in love, and they have a few very happy years together

-And then SY proposes, but he hands SQH the box with the ring in it, and with a good-natured laugh he says 'don't just jump into your decision because of the moment. I know we both agree proposals are kinda cringe. Think about it overnight. Then tell me your answer.'

-SQH wants to say yes immediately but doesn't argue with SY. He doesn't need the night to think, but he thinks anyway. For love. For his love.

-And then his computer breaks when he's up on it while writing cause he wants to pass the time.

-He goes to try unplugging and plugging it back in, but spills his tea. A spark. And then nothing.

-SQH suddenly finds himself growing up in PIDW. He gains all of his memories back gradually, completing them at around 25. Tragedy and grief and whirlwind of emotions strike him. This is NOT fair.

-SQH is the author. He logs into the System and declares himself an admin, unlocking all of the System's functions to him.

-He makes his plan. He'll bring SY back as SQQ. The character is a real asshole anyway, it would be good to have a replacement. (So...maybe SJ kicked him around one too many times...and he's lowkey getting his revenge...) unfortunately his plans take so long that by the time he's ready, LBH has been thrown into the Abyss. This means he has new worries. Bringing SY back in SQQ's body means LBH will come back to kill him. This is bad.

-(BTW SQQ is the most convenient body to bring SY back in so.)

-So he decides to use his Admin skills...to enact one of his most evil, diabolical, horrible curses: the puppy curse. He turns LBH into a fucking puppy. Bingpup. And then he waits until LBH emerges from the Abyss...and he snatches him up. LBH is not happy and threatens murder but sorry lil buddy, you're a puppy now. Good luck.

-Meanwhile SY is worried about the proposal after radio silence for a day, goes to SQH's apartment, sees the overturned cup of tea and messed up computer, and finds it horribly weird.

-SQH is declared missing. SY uses every penny at his disposal to find him.

-After a year or two passes, SQH is declared dead.

-A couple years after that, SY stops looking. And he mourns. And mourns. And mourns. He stays inside. Day and night. Listless. Eventually his family has to hire a home helper to keep his place livable + make sure SY eats.

-With Bingpup secured, all is good to go! SQH initiates the plan.

-SY finds himself drawn to one of the outlets in his house. He reaches out to tap and- Zap! Gone in the blink of an eye.

-SY arrives in PIDW. And the first face he sees? A snarling mutt trying to rip his face off. Tho it's less like ripping and more like licking/slobbering all over him.

-And then he looks up. And his boyfriend may look different, but that body IS his self-insert. He cries. He cries and throws himself into his arms. He can't ask anything yet, too overwhelmed with emotion. And he knows it's not a dream, too. His boyfriend loves him.

-The whole thing is explained to SY, including Bingpup and his new body.

-And they run off together, get married, and live life traveling PIDW, just two 'npc' (SQH changed their statuses to non-killable npcs) husbands and their vicious (adorable) puppy that never ages nor grows

the reason the system has so much influence on shen yuan’s actions is not because it can control the world of pidw / the world of pidw is inside a novel; rather, shen yuan’s soul has not fully assimilated into his new world, and the system is the line tethering sy’s soul to sqq’s body, through which it connects to the power source: binghe.

when doing some sort of cleansing/pacifying/restorative spell/treatment, shen yuan’s soul begins to assimilate. the further this goes on, the less power the system has over shen yuan. this could turn out in many different ways.

1) shen qingqiu stands over the gaping maw of the abyss with luo binghe’s blood still drying on his sword (something. wait fuck. another idea. “ming fan had been unhappy when shizun stopped tormenting luo binghe. still, he accepted his master’s choice, and followed his master’s teachings. now that luo binghe is gone, he should be happy that things returned to how they ought to be. and yet, a thought worries him. why had shizun’s blade been stained with luo binghe’s blood?”. anyway) he realises the system is now quiet. after years of torment, the shock and trauma of having to throw binghe away has finally destabilised it enough to shut it down. they kiss and make up upon first contact. because i said so

2) during binghe’s stay in the abyss, shen qingqiu’s clearly not doing well so yue qingyuan asks (begs, almost) shen qingqiu to try some spiritual cleansing treatment thing. it slowly dislodges the anchor the system has in him. when binghe is back, the system doesn’t react. the change in the plot only starts at the water prison, and it’s not enough to stop everything from happening. luo binghe’s pendant is lost.

3) the disappearance of the system happens while in luo binghe’s custody following the seige on cang qiong. it’s visible when it happens and it occurs while binghe and he are… i can’t call it anything other than play wrestling. binghe sees how the system was connected to him, drawing energy from shizun (i’m not quite clear on why or how but i’ll get there some day). shen qingqiu is forced to talk honestly about his feelings lest binghe do something drastic.

4) post extras, shen qingqiu has to get treatment for some reason, or goes to listen in on some music technique at an up and coming sect that’s still in development. it destabilises him so badly it ejects his soul from his body. binghe reacts badly.

5) same as 4) but it hurts binghe instead of shizun.

Once LQG presented fully, SQH was the person that had to guide him through it, much to their shared weariness

- SQH would make soft coo's and chuffs at random, because LQG would unconsciously respond back

- LQG always had a bullied expression when he'd unconsciously respond back

- SQH once reconstructed a nest, while using a manual, because his instincts demanded he do so and put an injured!LQG in it

- LQG randomly chuffs at animals he thinks are cute, without realizing he did

- SQH spent hours 'proofing' the room Cucumber-bro had designated as LQG's guest room

- LQG often goes to SQH after SQQ/LBG leave after one of their visits, as a way to self soothe

- SQH and LQG greet each other by throwing fists, because Beta-Fight-Bonding instincts (SQH can't even be upset because he always feel more relaxed afterwards)

- SQH always wrist-scents LQG during meetings; originally, this was to help keep him calm due to the overestimating nature of their hypersensitivity — now its to get a bullied expression out of him

- LQG had several failed tries at recreating a nest, even under LMY's instructions

- LQG feels embarrassed that he needs to read through books and pamphlets about his subgender — mainly because they started him off with the same collection that are given to newly presented betas (which are typically children with vastly different literacy level)

- LQG felt conflicted during the first time he encountered MBJ after presenting; because he actually thought his scent was decent to be around

- LQG now often barges into SQH's office and asks him to summing his 'Demonic Alpha' to fight with

- LQG refuses to speak about the one time he started a wrist-scenting; SQH cherishes that memory more than anything

- SQH basically vibrates in his seat whenever someone gets LQG subgender wrong; because on one hand he wants to correct them, on the other he wants to see them get blind sided by the truth

- After a sparing match with MBJ, LQG often smells of him and SQH (Much to YQY distress)

- LQG chuffs at his students, which makes them make a sound back (Chuffs from the betas, chirps from the Omegas, and rumbles from the Alpha's)

- SQH (he made it) and LQG (he was forced to participate) have a detailed list of which Alpha's has the most agreeable scent to which one has the least; They both agree MBJ is top 3

- They may have started a ritualistic greeting-fight whenever LQG visits Huan Hua because of SQQ

- Beta Huan Hua disciples (Whether human, half-demon or full demon) will follow LQG around whenever he's training; like lost pups

- LQG may have started to give them minor lessons to improve their stances and he may recognize each of them by scent at this point

- SQH didn't mind being paired up with LQG when they were disciples, though he wa svery jumpy, because LQG has the funniest reactions to things

- He loves it even more now, because having the resident War God help him get materials and watching how LQG ends up circumventing so many hidden Plots/his reactions to them is just perfect entertainment

- LQG's face whenever he's hit by some sex pollen that won't kill him + will wear off eventually is just the perfect mixture of resigned disgust and definetly-not-pouting moping

- Ace made it so LQG has the potential of being the 'Asexual-smut-writer' stereotype, if given the chance; Which means the moment SQH let him read anything he wrote, he got roasted by his shidi

- LQG nose thinks the combination of LBH's scent and SQQ's is the most agreeable, but he'll die before admitting to even himself

- LQG has a constipated face whenever his instincts demand he cares for someone, because he's unsure of where to start or how, just knows he *needs* to

- LQG and SQH will, occasionally, sink so much into a beta-equivalent of a subspace that they start making hyena cackles at each other because they deep in their instincts

- SQH keeps trying to gift SQQ some scented candles, to try and help make his and his husband's scents more harmonious to LQG

- But also, never explain that LQG has the biggest cheat sheet when it comes to Wife-plots or plot-pushers because of several unspoken headcannons or details

- No he will not tell SQQ that certain asphorisiacs/sex plans require someone experiencing sexual attraction to work

- No he will not explain that succubus-siren hybrids would be peaceful around LQG because their powers only work on someone that has some amount of sexual attraction towards them

- Nor will he explain that other things work off of arousal and that those are the ones LQG hates the most

- But yes, he will very much be bitey and fight his bro for the right to be the one to help LQG with any plot-points that revolve cuddling

- Beta instincts demand to gift stuff to those they care; LQG hunts rare creatures for SQQ, gets rare materials for MQF and makes good quality ink/brushes for LMY & SQH

- SQH particularly hunted down a creature for their horn, and gifts it to LQG to help with gathering liquid/sap from plants/trees

- MBJ eventually gifted a thick winter coat to LQG because SQH convinced him to visit the Northen kingdom (Did so by telling him about all the strong creatures there)

- LQG, in turn, hunted down a fearsome creature that was making trouble in MBJ's territory and gifted it to him

- SQH likes watching SQQ and LBH fumble in regards of interactions with LQG, because of how everyone else perceives a mated A/O couple interacting with a lone beta

- The demon realm are convinced LQG is trying to court the couple; their hearts go out to the lone beta

Toxic Yuri: Or, How I Learned to Start Worrying and Love The Bomb

I am going to go ahead and start throwing punches in my opening paragraph because it's been a while since I wrote a real post of any kind (remember Let's Talk Trans?) and I wanna get my views out there for the parasocial sycophants. I have pretty much always considered myself anti-ship, anti-map, anti-whatever the fuck. It's not necessarily from a position of puritanism, as I often see the opposition argue- I like John Waters movies, for god's sake- but more to do with the state of media literacy on the modern internet in general. It pains me to say something this cruel on a public platform but, frankly, a lot of the people involved in this debate are morons (anime bloggist crawfordpro has written a more eloquent post about this whole issue here, if you want to hear from someone a lot less confrontational than me). As much as I think the argument is just teenagers feeling out how to shape their social identities online, I also want to keep a lid on things and have it put straight out what my beliefs are and what forms the basis of them. Frankly, I am disgusted by grown adults sitting around on the internet that whine about how Mommy and Daddy aren't letting them play with their toys the way they want to. That is how it sounds to me when I see the proship people brag about how the haters will never succeed in taking away their underage incest smut.

Anyway. It's Yuri Day. I will probably also post a Yuri List for Yuri Day. As one does. But I am once again forced to confront the paradox of my values, or what some might call hypocrisy. It might be a sitewide hypocrisy, honestly. I see lots and lots and lots of posts about toxic yuri. About evil women. About bitches. Emotionally fraught codependency and dying like dogs and eating pomegranates. Perhaps it's some dark cynicism in me, a cruelheartedness I need to kill in myself, but a lot of the time I scroll by these posts and think "wow, OP would not survive Revolutionary Girl Utena". To evoke the infamous old post where someone went to see Hereditary in theatre because of Tumblr and then was extremely upset it was scary, I think there's a problem with left-leaning/feminist spaces online in general where everyone loves emotionally complicated women (evil bitches) until they actually read a story with an emotionally complicated woman in it. Everyone, it seems, loves freakin' at the freaker's ball until it starts contradicting their worldviews. Then they run back to their bastions of consumerist slop until it's safe for them to stop seriously thinking about their beliefs again.

And what of the memestatus of Toxic Yuri? The edges get sanded off. The moral complication is simplified down into who deserves to be hurt by the evil bitch and if the bitch is justified enough to do the hurting. Someone always has to be the heroine and someone always has to be the villain. Women can't be unpleasant because it's misogynist and women can't be too nice because it's misogynist, and if a man shows up he either has to be evil enough to justify killing him or weak enough to justify cucking him, sometimes both. There is no escaping everyone getting put into neat little boxes and slapped with a book of social rules detailing exactly how they should be punished for acting out of turn.

Even in more fannish communities where fujoshis rightly create genderbend yuri of their toxic yaoi, this shit happens. The Yuri Zine has an entire essay dedicated to talking about this, in particular highlighting how SQQ/LBH (from Scum Villain Self-Saving System) is softened and made comfy by the yuri girls and their feminization lasers. Why is it that it's fine to fuck a guy in the ass until he nearly dies when you're yaoi but when the story becomes two women there's only a smidge of gentle fingering? Is it wicked and foul of me to want more aggression and toxicity in my yuri? Is everyone reading this slowly coming to the conclusion that I'm American Psycho?

I mean, where are all the violent outpourings of female rage and hopelessness? Isn't that a thing we're supposed to have by now? Am I just looking in the wrong places? Because it's looking to me like even in a culture laying parallel to a largely uncensored, anonymous internet, people just don't want to write about women being aggressive and toxic. Lesbian stories are always about the redemptive power of love and full of gentleness and uncertainty. To put it meanly, a great deal of them are written under the stifling fear that someone somewhere might misconstrue either of the heroines as being predatory if they act outside their box. You can be gay, the yuri plot says, but you still have to act like a woman. The only allowable deviation is the actual lesbophobic stereotypes of hypersexual predators from male-oriented hentai shit. Which, frankly, I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. These caricatures ring just as false as their pillow-soft bambi lesbian counterparts.

An absence of cruelty is not kindness. An absence of hatred is not love. I hate how accusatory and mean I sound through all of this, but I just keep coming back to toxic yuri. How what's accepted in m/m fiction, what's accepted in heterosexual fiction, is completely taboo for f/f. I honestly quit reading yuri for a long time because I was so frustrated with this. It's not as though I actively want all women to be heartless sociopaths; I have repeatedly bounced off of girlboss media; movies like The Invisible Man remake and books like Burn The Negative. But there is like the full spectrum of human emotion that women, even in fiction, are seemingly never allowed to experience; and if they do, it has to be by a man's terms.

I know this is getting long. That's why I'm making it its own separate post from my yuri highlight list for the day. Most people probably don't want to be subject to my pathological desire to criticize everything and tear the world up with my teeth.

But like, don't you get tired of it? Don't you ever just get tired of it?

This is sooo good, actually. I am in love with this idea bc no matter what, sqq throwing him into the abyss happens on threat of death to him, and there’s no way for Binghe to figure that out. He’ll try everything though.

Maybe he apologizes before his seal is broken. He falls to the floor and begs his Shizun’s forgiveness. Sqq cries as he shoves him into Abyss.

Maybe he tries desperately to run, take the group of disciples who have latched onto him to a less dangerous place. No river for any women to be eaten in. The screams from other dying teenagers bring him back though. He can’t harden his heart against them.

Maybe there’s one time that he jumps in himself, and sqq reaches for him, tries to stop him, grabs desperately at his robes to keep him from falling. But he isn’t fast enough to catch him. Binghe clings to that cycle. He remembers the fear in his Shizun’s eyes as he falls.

Maybe the very next time, he thinks he’ll be okay. He goes through it as normal, and at the end, standing at the precipice, he smiles and says “you don’t actually want to push me, do you?”//“No. I don’t. But I must.”

And when sqq dies, he tries the same thing. Tries to figure out if this, too, is something that must happen. He replays that day, starting by visiting Sqq in the water palace. That run ends worse though. Gyx confronts him directly, spouting lies about what he’s done to his teacher, things he would never do. Sqq dies again.

Maybe the next time he resolves to stay far away. He won’t go near sqq. He won’t hurt him. But Xin Mo’s bloodlust spikes. He starts to loose control, and then sqq is there again. He smiles as he self destructs. He tells him he’s sorry.

Maybe next time he waits outside, ready to intercept gyx and sqq as they make their escape. Gyx starts yelling at him again, speaking terrible things, things Sqq is rightfully denying happening, but the accusations make his blood boil. He really thinks he would defile the love of his life like that? He brandishes his sword to cut gyx down, but instead, Xin MO’s blade cuts deep into sqq who put himself in the way to protect someone else. Just as he did for Binghe all those years ago. Sqq doesn’t smile as he dies this time

Maybe he starts the next time by begging his shizun’s forgiveness, forehead to the damp floor of the water prison. He frees sqq of his own volition because at least this way, Sqq will be alive. Binghe asks Sqq why he dies. Sqq responds that his death will only ever be at Binghe’s hands. Binghe likes this run the least.

Ray, I've got a plunny in my head and it won't leave. It's not even a mild one, either. It's throwing ideas at me and I'm screaming that I don't know how to make it work and then some just clicks or the plunny throws other Trivia at me making me think, oh yeah. That could work. But I don't want to write this. I literally cannot turn my mind towards any other thing right now. I have ADHD. Things like this don't happen to me. This is a major one track mind problem here. It's so frustrating.

It's a Scum Villain's Self Saving System and KHR xover. I haven't seen you posting on here about SVSSS, I don't think. It's a Chinese transmigration novel that happens in a cultivation world that was originally meant to be a dogs blood novel (corny revenge rampage, basically) and a harem for the Protag. The beginning basically starts with a hate reader cursing the novel and author with his dying breath. When he wakes up, he's the villain teacher, Shen Qingqiu, one of the starter ones for the Protag to get beaten down by and a System is in his head to ensure he makes the world better than the novel he read. Determined not to become a human stick (just a torso and head), he decides to suck up big time to current teen Protag. After a series of misunderstandings over the course of years, the Protag happily marries his teacher and rules over the human and demon realms. There is also the Author God who got transmigratated into his own novel as a traitor to his sect who gets killed by his demon king he served. To avoid this fate, he also sucks up to the demon king set to kill him. He ends up married to the demon. Or maybe that's all the fanfic I read. But they definitely are together in the end!

Anyway, Tsuna ends up in the novel somehow. I'm thinking Shang Qinghua, the Author God, originally writes notes about a child of the heavens crashing into their world before he scraps it. So this fits in with SQH trying to figure out what version of his novel hes in. One of his earlier drafts or his published version.

I'm thinking of making this Tsuna have a different backstory than KHR Tsuna which makes me think this is at least a two-shot. One for KHR and one for the xover, ugh.

But I'm thinking of making the yin cultivators have access to Sky Flame Spectrum and the yang cultivators as Earth Flame Spectrum. And Tsuna gets to teach the Sect Leader Yue Qingyuan how to access his Sky Flames and fix his and the SQQ's mess before its too late. Because all YQY had to do was use his freaking words instead of saying I'm sorry all the damn time without an explanation. Thus the two will bond (*whispers* and get rid of their UST). Maybe SQQ is a Cloud. Or a Storm.

I do see SQH as an Earth Flame, but with his current circumstances, i.e. thinking everything is not really real, thinking that he'll go home when the System says his work is over, stress that he knows what kind of lives they've lived and/or the way they die and feels horrible guilt over it, he can't properly bond, so his potential elements are confused over his hot and cold behavior.

The 12 Peak Lords (basically Sect Leaders who all answer to YQY but specialize in different things i.e. Admin, Medical, Talismans, Scholars, Beast Tamers, Alcohol Peak, No Men Allowed Peak and more) almost evenly could go to either YQY and SQH or just select ones from the group to either of them. SQH definitely gets his demon King in the North as one of his bonded, I'm thinking Mountain Flames primary with Desert Flames, ironically, for his secondary Flames for his teleportation powers.

I don't know much more about this plunny beyond the fact that Tsuna can't feel his bonded and they can't feel him, Tsuna's elements are working on either getting him back or going to him (going to him will be what they can do) and that Tsuna basically speed runs fixing the Plot and other people's problems. And that demons are torn about how to regard Sky Flame users. Some think they're gods to respect and others think they should eat them to gain godly powers.

Help.

How does Shen Qingqiu deal with monsters in the abyss? Does he actually fight them or does he just yell “NOT TODAY SATAN” at them with full confidence and run away while they’re stunned? LBH (if he sees this) definitely thinks it’s the coolest thing ever and starts copying his Shizun. Cue LBH fighting MBJ and yelling NOT TODAY SATAN when Mobei is about to win and all of a sudden the tables turn. LBH thinks those words are a magic spell, SQH enforces this, MBJ trusts SQH enough to believe it, and SQQ regrets everything

Fr fr tho I think if sqq throws himself down there (without getting too injured hopefully? I’ll make it work either way cast ur votes lmao) I’m thinking this guy is a stealth build type (re: his leaf action toward the beginning). If it’s a fight he’s not interested in or has a chance of being injured in (or if he’s already injured) I think he’s moving toward the “can’t fight me if u don’t notice me” type strategy. If confronted tho I think he’s more likely to fight than not. Esp bc he’s a pretty powerful cultivator who realistically COULD kick any of those monsters asses.

I see people posting things like how they are "problematic" and how they don't really love each other and SQQ only feels sympathy etc. Obviously there were struggles between them as there should be (considering all that happened) and just because sqq wasn't very open and super obvious about his feelings doesn't mean they are not there..this is how I interpreted it. I would love to know your opinion

Hello! This also covers part 2 of the previous ask.

First, massive spoilers for the end of the novel. Second, a disclaimer: I despise shipwars, which I think are behind most of those comments. I hate them because it's usually all in bad faith: everyone's already committed to their interpretation of the ships, and any discussion is just a guise for justifying their preferences.

So to any readers: I don't want anything here to be used as shipwar fuel. This post is about Bingqiu's canon arc and themes. Basically, I don't know or care if Bingqiu is a good ship, but I do think it's a well-written one.

I'll start by saying directly: for most of the novel, Bingqiu is neither healthy nor romantic. And that this is not bad writing, but on purpose.

A relationship that drives one party to mental breakdown isn't healthy. A relationship where that party says it's okay to hurt or kill them can't possibly be healthy. That happened because there was something deeply wrong with their relationship, something that can't be reduced to Xin Mo, miscommunication, or LBH throwing a tropey yandere fit.

And out of all three MXTX novels, only SV lacks a love confession from the MC to the ML. Again, I don't think it's an oversight, or just because SQQ's face is too thin. There are plenty of ways MXTX could have worked a subtle one in if she really wanted to.

In my opinion, Bingqiu's narrative can be split up into four arcs: Qing Jing Peak (ch 1-27), Jin Lan City (28-43), Post-revival (29-55), and Reconciliation (56-81). Other than the first arc, where their relationship is pretty straightforward, Bingqiu spend most of the rest in direct conflict.

I'll give an overview of the arcs here, but what I truly want to say about Bingqiu starts in arc 4, so if you're impatient you can scroll down. But the overview might help add context.

Jin Lan City arc is about LBH's anger at being brutally betrayed by the one person he thought he could trust. Here he tries to force answers out of SQQ, who he believes both hates him and is a hypocrite. He's driven by a desire to return to the past, but his rage and love makes his actions contradictory: on one hand he tries to win SQQ's approval constructively, by climbing to the top of Huan Hua Palace and performing good deeds, on the other hand his belief that SQQ doesn't care about him so it's all futile anyway (reinforced by SQQ's own actions) causes him to lash out destructively, going as far as to hurt and imprison SQQ.

LBH's bitterness is portrayed very negatively, because all it does is instill despair into SQQ, until SQQ ends up believing that he's only been a blight on LBH's life, and that he must make up for it by killing himself. Whereupon LBH breaks down, regressing into a childlike state. Some might ask, why does LBH never bring up the Abyss again afterwards? It's because he gives up here. This entire arc is about getting LBH to let go of past wrongs and to stop seeking answers, whether the reader believes it's fair to him or not. Because SQQ's life is more important.

Post-revival arc then is about SQQ trying to come to terms with a blackened LBH who also loves him. Interestingly, despite SQQ's horror at realizing LBH was romantically interested in him all along, SQQ actually has a very subtle but telling secondary reaction. To explain, let's back up to the first arc.

Starting around ch 9, probably as a sign of his growing affection, SQQ begins addressing LBH as 这孩子, or "this child," in his internal monologue, instead of LBH's name. He does it once each in ch 9, 12, 17, 21, 25. However, once Jin Lan City arc starts, SQQ drops the address entirely. LBH and "child" are never brought up together except for one snarky comment on LBH's tantrum being disgracefully childish in ch 38.

At first glance this doesn't look noteworthy because LBH by this point is no longer a kid. But when LBH kisses him in ch 49, SQQ changes again: right away he returns to using "child" on LBH, and the "this child" address starts popping up at a much higher frequency. By the end of SV SQQ has referred to LBH as a child in some manner at least 35 times (yes I went and counted), with the vast majority after ch 49, and he continues to do so right into the last extra.

Why was SQQ unwilling to use this address of affection for over 20 chapters? Perhaps because he too thought LBH hated him, and couldn't bear to think about him so intimately knowing that. So SQQ immediately falling back into it the moment he learns LBH loves him is a sign of his relief. He's still dismayed at the romantic part, but though SQQ likes to deflect from his real emotions (this is the guy who focused on bad naming sense after being fatally poisoned, who cavalierly commented only after it was all over that he'd expected to die), the fact that LBH loves and doesn't hate him, means a lot.

Here SQQ's feelings towards LBH are at their most complicated. He still assumes the worst of him like in Jin Lan City, but now because of the above, also sees a lonely child whenever LBH is unhappy and lost. It's like he has two filters actively interfering with each other, "crazed criminal" and "pitiful child," and so he flip-flops between pushing LBH away and comforting him. But when LBH drags CQMS into it, and even seemingly takes advantage of SQQ's love for him, SQQ's negative image and frustration with him only grows, until he finally snaps and tells LBH to never come near him again.

At this point SQQ still believes that LBH is the same black-hearted, invincible, devil incarnate that og!LBH was portrayed to be. The Reconciliation arc starts by chipping away at this filter that's been plaguing SQQ for so long. First the revelation that TLJ/ZZL was behind the sowers, thus clearing LBH's name at Jin Lan City. Then we see how unloved he is by his own father; we see him injured and helpless and unconscious. Meng Mo yells at SQQ, reinforcing that image of a vulnerable, terrified child. So by ch 62 SQQ has thrown away the "crazed criminal" filter completely, and in that same chapter they cling to each other and finally make up. Because while it's true that the current LBH is misanthropic, antisocial, and mercurial, SQQ has also finally accepted that he's still the same LBH he'd raised and doted on, back on Qing Jing Peak.

Now I'm going to talk about what I see as the most important part of Bingqiu. Yes, despite the wall of text already.

A common sentiment of Bingqiu shippers about their issues seems to be, "SQQ is dumb and oblivious; he can't figure out what LBH needs even though he loves him because he sees LBH as a novel character," but I think the problem is far more complicated and insidious than that. If that was everything, why give SQQ the epiphany that he misunderstood LBH so early? Why have him think in ch 66 that "truthfully, he'd never really trusted Luo Binghe, and that's why he kept accidentally hurting him?" If he's already realized that he shouldn't treat LBH like og!LBH (he even meets og!LBH in ch 71 to rub it in further), why do we go another 13 chapters believing their relationship is good and well, even giving us a sweet, happy moment in ch 75, only to show LBH having the worst breakdown of the novel just 4 chapters later? Was it all just padding to demonstrate the danger of Xin Mo?

Or is there something else beneath the surface?

In ch 66, the same chapter where SQQ implies he doesn't want to accidentally hurt LBH anymore, he says something telling. When LQG is skeptical that LBH can be trusted, SQQ thinks, 家里孩子不懂事，大人不容易做, or "when your child doesn't know any better, as the adult you don't have it easy." The child here of course refers to LBH, and the adult is SQQ, who's complaining about smoothing over LBH's messes. But what is SQQ implying here?

Doesn't know any better? That's what you say about a toddler who can't think for themselves, not a grown man. LBH is 25 and SQQ thinks he doesn't know better. Doesn't know better about what? LBH's wants, his needs? His feelings? Or even what's good for him?

And then you realize that's exactly how SQQ's always treated him, like a helpless child who can't make his own choices.

It's SQQ who chooses to throw LBH down into the Abyss without trying to talk to him. It's SQQ who decides that keeping silent is the best choice. It's SQQ who believes self-destructing in front of LBH will help, who thinks that breaking off their relationship is for the better. And it's SQQ who scolds LBH into tolerating CQMS, even though they hate each other and CQMS is hostile towards him. Who forces him to leave first at Zhao Hua Temple despite LBH's pleas otherwise, who shoos him out the window when CQMS walks in on them.

Every single one of these decisions, SQQ made believing it was for the best (repair LBH's relationship with his family, help him avoid arrest, not wanting to make excuses, wanting LBH to be free of his hatred), and every single one of them only damaged LBH further. Because SQQ's never listened to him, even once. Never consulted him or considered his feelings.

(And LBH did try to bring up his feelings on one of the matters in ch 75. He insinuates to SQQ that he doesn't like LQG calling him "little beast" or "ingrate." And SQQ's response is to dismiss them entirely, saying that LQG's "not wrong.")

SQQ has always loved LBH, but he's never once respected LBH's agency or personhood. Because LBH doesn't know better and SQQ does, so SQQ must make all his decisions for him.

And this, amplified by Xin Mo, is what finally drives LBH mad in ch 79.

To LBH, the important part isn't whether SQQ loves him, which I think he knew after ch 43 (it's why he can be so daring and pushy with SQQ's boundaries). What's important is that the moment SQQ believes abandoning LBH is justified for whatever reason again, SQQ absolutely will.

Ch 80's two-way noncon (since LBH was basically unconscious and couldn't consent) tends to draw most of the attention, but I actually think that what happens afterwards is one of the most important scenes for Bingqiu. There SQQ tries to sacrifice himself a second time for LBH, drawing Xin Mo's demonic qi into his body. Yet the novel claims that SQQ's actions here are completely different than in ch 43. SQQ himself says that this time he's doing it for LBH, while last time he was doing it for himself. But can the reader see a functional difference?

There is one, in fact: it's SQQ's response to LBH's choice afterwards. LBH decides to follow SQQ in death, even though this would void the point of SQQ's sacrifice. But instead of insisting otherwise, SQQ just accepts it. Because he finally understands that whether LBH's life is worth living, whether LBH will be better off, is for LBH and only LBH to decide.

It's the first time he respects LBH's agency. And this is the only reason why he and LBH can finally begin building a healthy relationship on the mess they've had up to now.

So that's what I see as the true beauty behind Bingqiu. It's about communication and mistaken assumptions, yes, but it's also about the nature of love between parent and child. The romantic developments were left to the extras, I believe, because this was the main story MXTX wanted to tell with them. Their relationship as lovers only starts afterwards, hence why SV ends with, "the story between you and I, has only just begun." It was never meant to be a whirlwind romance where they fall in love cleanly. It might not to be to everyone's tastes, but an incredible amount of thought was put into the narrative, and that's what amazed me when I first finished this novel.

(This post went on way too long and I ended up cutting off a huge chunk of tangential stuff and how SQQ came to his realization in ch 79: he didn't do it alone. It took him seeing the LBH in TLJ and the himself in YQY for him to understand. In fact, YQY and og!SQQ's relationship has a similar parent-and-child dynamic. I've touched on it before on twitter; if there's interest I might try writing that up here too.)

I think at first I didn’t really feel that he was all that romantically/sexually into him, but that’s because I was an idiot who took what he said at face value 😔

I definitely felt that he loved him, carried deep affection for him, and would do anything for him, but it somehow didn’t quite feel like he quite reciprocated Binghe’s romantic/sexual feelings.

In large part I believed him (again! like an idiot!) when he said that Binghe being the most beautiful creature in existence is just Fact in this universe. It was the extras that began to change my mind: specifically the Airplane extras, actually. Because when Airplane says that Binghe isn’t his type, and you get to see Binghe from a non-sy perspective… you start to realise that maybe sy is lying to himself and you 😂

But yeah, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the extra where he has the dream and sees Binghe caring for his body when he was dead. And then he wakes up and he’s the one who pulls Binghe close, because seeing that just overwhelmed him with love. I’ve been meaning to reread that extra because it feels so important :)

Understanding Shen Yuan is a case of ignoring his thoughts and looking only at his actions (and sometimes his words! the things he says often are more truthful than the things he thinks LOL). The self-detonation is a good case of this, actually, and I think it’s where I first started to properly question SQQ’s narration. In his mind, he’s mainly talking about how this is just a plan for him to be in the mushroom body. But the words he says and the way he wraps his arms around Binghe is so tender and loving, that it can’t possibly have just been a ploy to reincarnate to the mushroom body and save his skin.

And obviously there’s the papapa to save the world, where despite the fact that every action of his up to this point has in theory been in the interest of self preservation, he doesn’t hesitate to offer his life for Binghe.

In some ways he and SQH are quite similar, what with how SQH (notable pathetic self-serving little man) complains on and on about how people/demons shouldn’t fall in love, because their IQs plummet. Only to throw himself into fire for MBJ :)

Anyway, he’s definitely the weirdest narrator in anything I’ve ever read, and that’s probably why I’m so obsessed with this book 😩😩

I was sitting here, letting my thoughts run, and had the thought that “the reason it’s so hard for some people to tell that Shen Qingqiu really reciprocates Binghe’s romantic feelings is because we’re not seeing it from his perspective”

We. We are, though. We are seeing it from his perspective. He’s just a LIAR, so it’s easier to see what Binghe is thinking than what the man narrating the story is thinking!!!

(I was specifically thinking about the way he’s literally always been obsessed with Binghe, and that’s kinda easy to forget because he never addresses it. Repressed little man…)

The Consorts Go Feral

Story ideas someone please please please write this I need it.

So there's some kind of competition where all the different regions of the demon realm get together. So of course SQQ and SQA have to go with their demon husbands.

At the competition SQQ and SQA are just chilling when they over hear their husbands stating that they'll win the competition for them. It's a pairing based competition where all the high rank demons do some competitions and scavenger hunts and stuff like that So of course the demon lords and their consorts are going to compete together.

Now they don't mean it in a bad way it's just demon instincts that they want to show off for their consorts and provide for them so that they don't have to actually participate but will still win and get the prizes. Especially considering they didn't want to come to the competition.

Now both SQQ and SQA are millennials and even though they didn't want to come if they hear someone making fun of them and saying they couldn't actually do the thing they didn't want to do they're going to do it out of spite.

Enraged that their demon husbands think they're such delicate flowers that they could not win the competition they declare then and there that they are going to be on a team together and they'll see who wins the competition then.

Combining SQQ's monster knowledge and SQA's world knowledge they make a formidable team. Then the system decides to make it interesting and make it a quest for b points or some kind of reward at the end but once the quest is activated LBH's protagonist Halo is turned off so that he won't automatically win the competition.

So since the north is the one hosting this event and SQA had to set most of it up he knows the entire schedule for the event. So on the first day SQQ is left to win the first competition while SQA sets up for the second day. You don't need both competitors to be there to win the competition and just one of them has to do the work to win.

So the teams or the three teams that the stories mainly going to focus on is SQQ and SQA, LBH and MBJ, and a surprise pairing that showed up to crash the competition TLJ and ZZL!

So first day is a killing competition there is some kind of sensor or something that tracks how many beasts that you kill. SQQ using his knowledge of flora and fauna finds the blood trees that inhabit the area of the competition is being held and since he can use leaf attacks he's able to infuse the slightly sentient trees with his qi communicating to them that they can use him as the lure flower to attract prey and they'll get to consume any of the beasts and the blood that is attracted by him. So not having to do any work SQQ sits down in the middle of these trees like a lotus flower in his bright green robes and flares his qi drawing monsters to the trees that then kill them and the blood starts soaking into the ground so eventually his robe gets stained with blood. So his counter keeps going up for kills because he is technically the one bringing in the kills even if he's not doing it himself. SQA has gone off on his own to bring them a last-minute win if needed and also to prepare for tomorrow's competition.

Team demon lord and team former demon lord are still heavenly demons and so they are the only ones at the top of the scoreboard that are battling super hard. SQQ is still keeping up with them but is remaining in third place and it's kind of annoying him but he's also not actively putting in any work trusting that airplane is going to pull through.

The day is almost over and both team demon Lord and team former demon Lord are baiting each other as they're trying to find even a little bit more prey and they come upon SQQ in the middle of the cove of blood trees just looking transcendent in his light green robes as the entire floor of the forest is just covered in blood and you see that his robe goes from its nice translucent green to the bright red of blood and he looks amazing.

LBH and TLJ try and tease him for being in third place when there's only a few seconds left to the competition about to end when suddenly team consort score skyrockets and airplane pokes his head out from behind a tree shaking his hands complaining about an ant hill or whatever the proud immortal demon way version of an ant hill is that had gotten flooded and eventually drowned them due to the blood building up in the cove of blood trees which is what airplane was betting on. Though the ants aren't impressive to kill they still count as lives taken and So team concerts score considers that as lives taken and puts them in first place.

Team demon Lord are of course very impressed and infatuated with their consorts but SQQ and SQA are still peeved about the earlier comments and snub them for the night and have a sleepover but of course demons being demons think that the concerts are sleeping together because of the fact that they're snubbing their husbands.

The other demons are also impressed by them winning and thinks since they are mad at their husbands they might get a shot with the consorts and that just makes team demon Lord very mad. Of course team former demon lord specifically TLJ is going to rattle the beehive because he enjoys chaos and likes to tease his son so will be flirting with SQQ and inciting ZZL to flirt too.

SQQ Will ignore it or be oblivious as usual. SQQ is under the impression that since demons are might makes right if he wants to make a impression he needs to be very aggressive instead of his very calm demeanor as a peak lord. SQA who is a gremlin and enjoys causing chaos and is still mad at his husband is not going to tell SQQ any different. So SQQ on the second day is channeling all of his anti. fan hatred and his S tendencies to verbally and physically destroy the other demons when needed. Demons who are might makes right society meaning they're attractive to people who are powerful meaning that they're all slightly M's under all that bluster are very attracted to this. SQA who sees his son LBH wanting to tear all of them apart for looking at his consort and feels vindictively pleased for all of the anxiety his son has caused him.

Now because SQQ acted as the lure flower and brought them such great amounts of food that the blood trees will probably not have to eat for another year means that the trees have taken a very great liking to him. So to improve his image of terrifying the blood trees have started interacting with him just as he walks around or doing things for him like picking up his fan if he drops it or if he needs something the roots will spring from the ground and bring it to him and finally to make him more demonic to go with his aggressive approach he's taken to the vines weave a crown of branches around his head making him look like he has his own set of horns.

The demons are very curious if SQQ is a demon that has been parading as a cultivator. Now the second day of the competition is a battle campaign where the top three teams from the day prior will be put in charge of the other teams based on a lottery and will wage war. The top teams being the generals in the war. SQA knew this and prepared in advance for it setting up a bunch of booby traps and acquiring a certain animal for SQQ to tame with cucumber bros ability to cause anything demonic or non-demonic to fall for his charms. SQA Will lead the army in the front to utterly decimate team demon lord and team former demon Lord while SQQ is to stay back and look intimidating.

Essentially make all of the focus be on cucumber bro while airplane bro is able to work behind the scenes and take down the armies while they're too focused on cucumber bro. To assist with this since cucumber bros outfit is soaked in blood from the day prior airplane prepares a more demonic outfit meaning there's very little cloth involved in black and dark green to give cucumber bro a bit more demonic aesthetic. He gives a BS reason to assist with cucumber bros misinterpretation of demonic culture that cucumber bro will be valuing the culture by dressing like this. SQQ is aware there's a trap involved but not where the trap is so just goes along with it because he is still mad at LBH.

So cucumber bro comes out in this dark black and dark green outfit with his striking face especially making him look very disdainful & beautiful due to the color change and the demons are taken with him. Especially because the blood trees have weaved the branch horn crown into his hair this morning instead of him putting in his normal hair piece and so he looks very demonic.

Airplane puts into action his second part of the plan and gives cucumber the hellhound babies that he had acquired the day prior. Cucumbers immediately smitten with them of course and fawns on them all day completely ignoring his husband and his increasingly desperate attempts to get cucumbers attention.

Now it's time for them to wage war and cucumber sets up shop in his blood forest now and looks like he's the one leading the army but really airplane is working his magic in the background and suddenly destroying everyone while they're paying too much attention to cucumber.

ZZL tries to capture SQQ on orders TLJ but he's trying to be respectful and not touch him too much and apologizing for having to be rough. SQQ has a soft spot for ZZL and the care and loyalty he's shown and does not want to harm him either. Now airplane was expecting this so had made sure that cucumber had a container of that rice wine whatever alcohol was used in the book to intoxicate ZZL after hearing about SQQ's misadventures in his plant body.

Because of this ZZL is intoxicated and immobilized by the blood trees think very much the tentacle hent*i after all this is airplanes world. He is struggling a lot and even though they were enemies SQQ does really like ZZL And doesn't want him hurt So what does Mr I need to hide LBH who has snuck onto the premises from his father of course I'll throw a bed sheet over him and sit on him do? But sits on ZZL's back while he's struggling using him like a chair or bench. Then completely oblivious to the sexual overtones and quite sadistic overtones of what he's doing he says something like ZZL makes a very comfortable chair and that he shouldn't struggle so much placing the container of wine or alcohol right in front of his face so that he stays intoxicated and the trees tighten so he can't move from his position.

LBH is chugging vinegar at this point. Eventually LBH and TLJ Make it to where SQQ is enthroned in his circle of trees but because the protagonist Halo is taken off SQQ is able to fight them to a standstill until the blood trees are able to immobilize them because the second benefit of these trees is that they are one of the few flora that can take out heavenly demons and are unaffected by heavenly demon blood outside of drinking it makes them stronger.

After immobilizing TLJ SQQ Will come up to him and lightly stroke the fan across his body up to his chin saying that he won't go any further or something similar because TLJ is quite breakable while cucumber is referencing the plant body thing where TLJ would fall apart everyone nearby thinks something entirely different and in the much more S category.

SQQ Then turns to his husband and lightly taps his fan against his chin mockingly asking what he thinks he might be able to do now that he has completely taken over both generals of one team in the war game and has one general from the other team. LBH is slightly confident that they'll come to a tie because MBJ will obviously be able to take out airplane but just as he says that airplane comes trotting into the cove of trees with MBJ tied up and immobilized on the back of a cerberus like hellhounds that is apparently the mom of the litter that airplane left with cucumber bro. Seeing that cucumber bro treated them so well and that they liked the two cultivators the mom decided to help out just as airplane planned. The hellhounds are fire based demons and were able to absolutely destroy the ice-based demons MBJ included.

So at this point team consort has won two out of the three events so they're obviously the winner and at this point the third day is just all of the demons trying to prove they would be good partners for the two consorts since obviously there husbands aren't satisfying them if they are participating in the event together.

The third day is a scavenger hunt for rare items and I haven't thought of what would happen during that day past that is a scavenger hunt so you can have free license with that day on what happens. Whether they sweep the competition and then have their wicked way with their husbands or if they decide to sleep with someone else.

This post had no structure and was very voice to text so I apologize for probably the large amount of grammar mistakes I just needed to get this idea out.

Lol literally nothing could be worse than SJ for LBH.

I think it would be pretty much like actual canon svsss tbh. LBH being confused by the change in attitude of his shizun, but too much of a Good Boi to question it.

Assuming there is a system guiding JGY!SQQ (bc poor guy would have no idea of where tf he is or who is he unlike SY), then he would too try to outsmart and loop hole said system to avoid his ultimate horrible destiny. I think he would be better than SY at explaining things so that the chances of misunderstandings would be minimal, as well as his strategic connections. He would also plan several steps ahead if he is given the entire plot at some point, so he could probably even find a way to avoid throwing LBH in the abyss, or at least minimize the damage it caused between them.

Bc LBH would absolutely be a puppy with a crush the moment shizun starts treating him kindly. And tbh I think JGY!SQQ would be maybe more partial towards LBH than even SY: the orphan who lost his mother to hardship and tried his damnest to earn the approval of a father figure that showed him nothing but disdain? Yeah, that would hit too close too home.
