#Omega Shen Yuan/Qingqiu

Beta!Liu Qingge

Like, My brain just keeps replaying this idea:

Airplane added Omegaverse into his stallion novel because of an online friend he had, called 'Asexual-Menace' (Don't ask about the naming convention), who just kept brainrotting A/B/O.

But like, they had an extra focuse oj the socialization, how each dynamic would work, what are their differences and even fleshed out Betas as a subgender. Which, Airplane indulged in and eventually, asked to add their friends ideas into his stallion novel.

'Ace' would often beta read any of his begging drafts, encourage him and even help him with world building — which is why the Omegaverse became a part of PIDW

Though eventually, between Ace... no longer being around and Airplane needing to pay rent, a lot of things were left ambiguous, implied, personal information or small scenarios he wrote to get out of creative ruts at like 1 am.

What came as a consequence, is that all that background information becomes very tangible situations once he transmigrates as Shang Qinghua.

Luckily for him, SQH is a Beta, and thus, he doesn't need to deal with the A/O aspect.

Now he gets to deal with the Beta-aspects his friend had written, which are both good and horrible:

Pros: Great sense of smell, naturally boosted stamina, faint scents that don't stick easily/harder to track, No heats/ruts, rarely goes feral, levelheadedness is easier to maintain, pack-driven which means he can blend into crowds if need be.

Cons: Being the most responsible of subgenders, ferality is a dangerous thing for betas and usually leads to qi-diviations in Beta cultivators, need to run pack-mating cycles, needs to care for Alphas/Omegas/Pups equally, instinctual inclination to battle other betas to release stress

So, he's in a meh state, but overall — prefers to be a Beta.

Though, there was just one plot line he never thought he'd get to see through — but thanks to our resident Cucumber-bro, SY saved Liu Qingge's life and let's the plot line unfold.

You see, Liu Qingge became a peak lord without presenting — he's a late bloomer. His Qi-diviation was actually related to this fact, for obvious reasons; as not presenting makes it so bottlenecks are harder to break.

Though thanks to him being Alive, he eventually does present and as a Beta.

All of his readers assumed LQG is an Alpha and a lot of in-world characters did too — but that was never the case. LQG was meant to be a sort of mentorly-rival/Mid-Boss for LBG to learn/fight with. Him being a Beta was important to that.

Because Betas don't have strong scents, meaning not catching it in time or taking seconds too long to follow it, ends with it disappearing.

In Airplane's drafts, LBG would face off against a semi-recently presented LQG. A LQG who now has the natural boosts of being a Beta, alongside having had several major breakthroughs that were being held back due to him still being a 'pup' in that regard.

LBG would be arrogant, then be knocked down a peg by the War God himself — outlasting expectations and disappearing in tight spaces like corridors because his scent is so faint, LBG can't catch it for more than seconds — while LBG's scent is overwhelming, meaning LQG has the natural advantage. A play of nature/instincts + wisdown/strategy between the Alpha Demon lord and the Beta War God.

There's another layer to this, being a subversion of expectations — LQG had a presence; the way he stood, his tone and cadence, the way he carried himself in and out of battle. It makes sense, when you take stereotypes into consideration that he'd be an Alpha — but thats exactly why 'Ace' argued against it. Why they instead brought the idea of a Beta being the war god and how that would give a better showcase of how A/B/O and the subgenders can manifest the same instincts in different ways.

The readers, just like the characters in the drafts, are meant to be fooled by expectations then be blind sided.

Obviously, that was scrapped for the original novel but now, SQH gets to witness such a thing — though Obviously different to how he imagined it.

Since the Original SQH was the eldest beta amongst them, that means HE has to be the one to help LQG through those first stages of adapting to the changes in your body, to this new hypersensitivity, to the way your qi and meridians slowly change to adapt and the new instincts that come with being a Beta.

LQG has this earthy scent, like fresh soil, mixed in with some scent oil — something remenicent of the oil they use to clean/polish their swords.

Airplane would be so happy to see the plot line him and 'Ace' made come into fruition in some capacity.

Then it would spiral into something he didn't expect, because BingLiuShen + 'Compatible scents'

He was cursing at himself and the 'compatible scent' bs he had made for some of the wife-plots to work.

svsss omegaverse au where only those with profound cultivation ability develop into alphas or omegas. this means both powerful spiritual cultivators and powerful demon lines

under luo binghe’s rule, any alpha or omega in the general populace is brought to bingge’s palace. omega women are added to the harem without question, tho there are a notable few alpha women there as well (shl and lmy).

sy transmigrates into a wandering omega cultivator exploring the world (the world building was the best part of that dumbfuck novel and now he gets to experience it firsthand!!!). his exploration quickly takes him from the few safe remaining human cities and into the wider world.

he’s chased for days by different demon groups until one finally catches him, because junshang’s been hell-bent on finding some particular male omega for the past few months. he’s put out a bounty and everything; whoever brings the right omega gets riches and their choice of one treasure from junshang’s vault.

everyone thinks he’s gonna kill this dude. they assume the omega wronged junshang somehow and he wants revenge. sy is scared absolutely shitless. these guys tie him up in immortal binding cables and beat him up a little bit. by the time they make it to the underground palace, sy looks fuckin rough

and surprisingly, lord luo is not pleased by this. so displeased, in fact, that he cuts the demons down right there in the middle of his reception hall? sy is 100% sure he’s gonna be next and he nearly passes out when bingge approaches. (part of him is screaming because!!!! luo binghe!!! in the flesh!!!!! with an air of power and deadly beauty and strength!!!! the protagonist!!!)

lbg studies sy’s face for a minute, then has servants take him away. he’s bathed (THOROUGHLY!! maybe TOO thoroughly!!! he can wash his own ass!! thank you!!) and styled, and with the cables removed he can finally heal his injuries from being captured.

the next time they meet, lbg seems weirdly angry. his hands are shaking and his face is red, and every time he makes eye contact with sy, he growls and looks sharply away. he’s definitely barely holding back from killing sy!! maybe it’s because sy left the human cities? maybe it’s because he was poking around somewhere off-limits?? sy has no idea what he did.

lbg leads him down down to the water prison, and again sy almost passes out. my mans definitely pukes into the water just from the smell alone. it’s…a gory scene. but what’s most unsettling about it isn’t the emptiness in sqq’s eyes or the desperate grunting that only becomes louder the closer lbg brings sy.

what’s most unsettling is how similar they look. they could be brothers, their family resemblance is powerful. same face shape, same nose, same cheekbones.

and sy gets it then. bingge is done playing with sqq; there’s nothing really left to do to him (though he’s still got his dick…sy was one of the loudest proponents of cutting it off for what he did to ning yingying!) so lbg must be looking for a replacement.

lbg studies them both for a long time, as if cataloguing all the similarities between their faces. the whole time, sy is shaking, trying not to fall over. eventually, lbg must be satisfied, because he looks sy up and down slowly before muttering. ‘you’ll do for now. we can see how you measure up.’

POORLY!!! shen yuan is determined to measure up extremely poorly to that old shizun of lbg’s!! to save his own skin, he’ll be nothing like that asshole!!

thus begins shen yuan’s plan to treat the emperor with such doting, kind respect that he’ll see nothing of sqq in him beyond his unfortunate face!! surely lord luo won’t want to kill someone so kind to him!!

(every measure of shen yuan’s kindness is overwhelming to lbg. after so long he’s found what that other him flaunted in his face. a close relative of his shizun’s, no doubt, (maybe a twin separated at birth?) who became that other binghe’s shizun in that timeline. he’s kind and gentle and so concerned with binghe’s wellbeing in a way…no one has since his mother, so so long ago. that one morning with the other shizun was so sweet, but this—having this omega here in his palace, fussing at him to eat more and dress more warmly when he goes to the north, smiling unrestrained, smelling so impossibly sweet—this is so much better than he could have imagined. luo bingge will convince this shen yuan to be his omega. not as a concubine, but as a proper wife. first wife, maybe. empress, even. whatever it takes to get him to say yes. whatever it takes to keep him.)

Thinking about Omega SQQ again sigh

Okay. So warning this is a male lactation AU so if you don’t like that don’t read, nothing explicit happens tho, just a guy and his pups

I imagine when he first goes into his body everything feels like he’s in haywire, constantly on edge and ready for a fight. Once he’s gotten the hang of things he uses his cultivation to try and simmer down his hormones.

Only to realize it was his cultivation preventing hormones that was making him feel like shit all the time.

So eventually he sighs and stops doing that. The first few days are bad, cramps and sickness and a general feeling of wanting to claw everyone’s eyes out. He gets through that though.

Then his breasts start to come in.

He knew PIDW has its weirder parts of omegaverse so he knew that this would happen. At first he starts binding his chest but that hurts SO SO SO much that he collapses on like the third day (he was also doing it improperly because it’s him, yk) and gets stuffed into Qian Cao

SQQ: I’ve only recently decided to stop holding myself back

MQF: it is recommended that you form a small pack of your disciples to help with your instincts and… that *waving at SQQs chest.*

At this point after like a week of just draining himself and going insane he finally gives up. LBH has already started living in the bamboo hut so he’s kinda the best option so he sits the boy down.

SQQ: Binghe, I hope you know this isn’t going to change anything but

LBH, thinking: oh my god no please don’t kick me out

SQQ: since this master has allowed his omega side back out he’s been struggling with his urges about thinking of his disciples like pups. If it’s not an offense to your character can I take some of it out on you

LBH, internally: YES YES YES PLEASE OH GOD YES I NEED IT

LBH, externally: If that would please shizun then sure :]

So they start a twice daily thing of in the morning and night LBH goes into SQQs room and his nest and gets feed. Apparently milk is hella good for the skin and shit because after a few weeks he starts to look flawless somehow.

And SQQ really wants to see his other kids- DISCIPLES flourish like that. He extends the offer to a close few and some look like they going to cry at the honor of their teacher wanting to take care of them.

LBH is still the main drinker and always wants to huff when he has to share, but he does it none the less. His Shizun gets really cute during feeding sessions, purring and chirping at them, fixing their hair and playing with it, scratching their scalp, the whole nine yards.

So LBH repays it by feeding SQQ more, which also makes him have more milk in turn. He huffs and complains at his body’s need to produce so much, his chest wayyy too heavy in the middle of the day to be comfortable, leaking and wasting everything.

He ignored that though, even if LBH and his other pups- disciples offer to help him.

Eventually after the Abyss his body is still making big amounts of milk because that’s what it was used to. Most of the time he just gets it out himself and pours it into the grass, often now also starting his other feedings.

Everything starts to get to him and he’s decided that staying on the mountain is no good. So he sneaks out, by himself, in search of something to heal his heart.

All the peak lords and disciples are going crazy, nobody can find him and nobody knows where he could’ve gone. Eventually while LQG is talking to a random villager out in a border town of their territory he sees SQQ again, arms filled with two pudgy babies and looking ever so pleased.

SQQ: Oh! Hi Shidi

SQQ internally: OH FUCK I FORGOT ABOUT THE SECT

LQG: where have you been???

SQQ: sorry sorry babies are hard work I didn’t want to travel alone with them

LQG, wanting to have an aneurysm but can’t: let me just help you home

On one hand the entire sect is so relieved that SQQ didn’t die of heartbreak over losing his favorite pup or get kidnapped. On the other hand SQQ??? Where’d you’d acquire those babies?? They aren’t yours, it’s only been 6 months!!

Anyways after SQQ is safely back in the sect he doesn’t see a point in leaving. I mean! Look! Look at his pups! So cute and round! One of them has little dimples!

The other peak lords carefully go to see what was going on, YQY opening the door to the bamboo house after being told to come in and all of them are just smacked with happy omega pheromones, SQQ gently cradling them both in his arms as he rocks in a chair.

At that point all of the peak lords decide that yk, maybe it doesn’t matter how the children were acquired. They were well feed and cared for and obviously SQQ was happy again.

(He got the children from a working in the WRP, she had wanted babies and all her sisters were supportive but then she realized she didn’t like being a parent but you also can’t morally just… dispose of a child. SQQ visited there once in his depression stoop and stayed for a few days after falling in love with the kiddos. Then he just went on an adventure with his babies and got distracted by the cool world building.)

omega shen jiu that is trying very hard to contain his nesting instinct. it leading to him staring intensely at shen yuan, internally fighting himself because on one hand hand he wants to scent and bundle up the beta, on the other he would rather die than give in to his instincts. so every once in a while, he just stands and glares at shen yuan with his hand occasionally twitching but not moving otherwise. shen yuan goes between ignoring the omega and occasionally teasing him

Shen Yuan is Shen Jiu's shidi, they met and fell in love during their discipleship.

Both JiuYuan are omegas, which is why Shen Jiu felt comfortable enough with Shen Yuan being a man.

Luo Binghe is treated like any other disciple because JiuYuan are too busy being in love to bully or spoil him. He's still a favorite of SY.

CQM are all one pack, with the exception of QJP. Shen Qingqiu is the QJP Pack Leader, they are a matriarchy.

SY is currently pregnant although the prompt can take place before that.

I don't read A/B/O setting SVSS because that is just another layer of fuckery in what is clearly a powder keg situation. That is a delicate and combustible environment, it will explode if you layer another layer of intricacies over it, have you gone mad???

Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan should not be near any more gender or dynamic fuckery. They are unstable bitches, one more drop and Binghe will be beyond all control. His sanity is barely hanging on by a thread (Shen Yuan). A SY with the ability to procreate with another man will drive him insane. It will drive SY insane too. Assured horns hours and casual same sex relationships will force him to actually consider things instead of just blinding himself to shit. I don't even want to address the situation with SQQ and Yue Qingyuan. Hell fucking no.

Also, I don't even want to imagine those two procreating. Nope. No child deserves to be put in that situation.

Actually, the funniest way it can go would be if they were both betas. Everyone expects that their deranged behavior is something about the dynamics, but nope, these two are supposed to be the normal ones. Who'd have guessed, huh?

Once LQG presented fully, SQH was the person that had to guide him through it, much to their shared weariness

- SQH would make soft coo's and chuffs at random, because LQG would unconsciously respond back

- LQG always had a bullied expression when he'd unconsciously respond back

- SQH once reconstructed a nest, while using a manual, because his instincts demanded he do so and put an injured!LQG in it

- LQG randomly chuffs at animals he thinks are cute, without realizing he did

- SQH spent hours 'proofing' the room Cucumber-bro had designated as LQG's guest room

- LQG often goes to SQH after SQQ/LBG leave after one of their visits, as a way to self soothe

- SQH and LQG greet each other by throwing fists, because Beta-Fight-Bonding instincts (SQH can't even be upset because he always feel more relaxed afterwards)

- SQH always wrist-scents LQG during meetings; originally, this was to help keep him calm due to the overestimating nature of their hypersensitivity — now its to get a bullied expression out of him

- LQG had several failed tries at recreating a nest, even under LMY's instructions

- LQG nose thinks the combination of LBH's scent and SQQ's is the most agreeable, but he'll die before admitting to even himself

- LQG has a constipated face whenever his instincts demand he cares for someone, because he's unsure of where to start or how, just knows he *needs* to

- LQG and SQH will, occasionally, sink so much into a beta-equivalent of a subspace that they start making hyena cackles at each other because they deep in their instincts

- SQH keeps trying to gift SQQ some scented candles, to try and help make his and his husband's scents more harmonious to LQG

- But also, never explain that LQG has the biggest cheat sheet when it comes to Wife-plots or plot-pushers because of several unspoken headcannons or details

- LQG, in turn, hunted down a fearsome creature that was making trouble in MBJ's territory and gifted it to him

- SQH likes watching SQQ and LBH fumble in regards of interactions with LQG, because of how everyone else perceives a mated A/O couple interacting with a lone beta

- The demon realm are convinced LQG is trying to court the couple; their hearts go out to the lone beta

- Cultivators find the way LBH postures against LQG kinda... off

- Normal people either theorize LQG is SQQ's beta or that LQG is trying to prove that he should be the couples beta

- SQH may or may have not found a way to get LQG scent all over a certain item to keep in his house (may have found a way to scent an item that's in LQG's house)

- SQH is waiting for SY to either figure shit out or enter a crisis over the entire "But he was really a beta all along" plotline; could go either way iho.

- SQH might be petty a be an obstacle in SQQ's eventual endeavors; just to be a smart ass

- It would be so easy with how LQG ends up smelling like Him and MBJ after a visit/sparing session

svsss omegaverse au no thoughts just post-canon alpha-“alpha” bingqiu ft trans omega binghe who feels safe enough to explore for the first time.

at first sqq is thoughtlessly cruel about it— ‘binghe is an alpha among alphas; surely he shouldn’t be building nests. what’s all this fake whining—binghe can’t trick me into staying home longer by playing at being an omega. binghe’s kneading at me like a child; he really should stop that before someone mistakes him for an omega.’

never any true malicious intention, but the kind of casual sexism that flourishes in someone who has never thought to examine their beliefs or behaviors. he’s constantly communicating to binghe ‘it is wrong for an alpha to behave like an omega; being an omega is bad; you are finding comfort in the wrong things and you need to stop.’

i was trying to picture how it might come to a head. maybe a plant or potion that affects alpha and omega dynamic sexes—essentially swaps alphas into omegas and vice versa. maybe it needs dual cultivation to cure, and suddenly binghe tries his damndest to avoid sex as long as he can.

but i think what i like better is a lot more mundane.

during a period on qjp, sqq goes out to tend to his duties for the day and lbh decides to stay home. sqq is out, the house is warded to hell and back, and binghe is properly alone. so he builds a nest, and he lets himself purr even though it sounds wrong to his ears. he lets himself feel safe and comfortable and vulnerable.

and then sqq gets home early, sees binghe acting like an omega, and is confused. because binghe is the alpha-est alpha to ever alpha. so he must be confused, if he’s behaving like this.

so he scolds his husband—not overly harsh, in his opinion, but with the clear intention to correct this. (maybe he’s a bit flustered because binghe looks so cute like this, and then he feels guilty for finding it cute. clearly something is wrong if his number-one-alpha husband is acting like this.)

‘binghe, what’s gotten into you, acting like this? are you a full-grown alpha or aren’t you? what kind of fearsome demon lord rolls around in a nest of another alpha’s clothes like some kind of omega? get up binghe, get—’

and binghe just. cries. not the dramatic waterworks that he uses to tease sqq and get his way—there’s no blubbering, no whining, no begging shizun to reconsider. binghe just sort of shuts down, murmurs a hollow, tight-throated ‘yes, shizun,’ and gets up. takes apart the nest as he’s told and cries quietly, because clearly there is something wrong with him. but if sqq doesn’t want him to be that way, he won’t be that way, no matter how it hurts to pack all his softness away.

and immediately sqq sees that he’s fucked up. he doesn’t really understand how, but he sees that he’s hurt binghe deeply, so he stills binghe’s slow, heavy movements as he takes apart his little nest, and he pulls binghe into a warm embrace.

Was thinking of omegaverse SY and how he’s super protective of the other omegas on his peak.

Like one day NYY goes into her first heat and he’s instantly in protect mode, bringing her in the house and covering her in soft bedding and making everything smell nice. All he wants to do is care for her but like halfway through it the other peak lords find out and think he’s doing shit (everyone thinks he’s a beta) and they try taking her away

I would love to see JiuYuan’s first date together in your new series! I’m imagining Shen Jiu trying to be very gentlemanly and Shen Yuan clinging to him the moment he gets past his own obliviousness. It was probably outside the sect for privacy… Maybe Shen Jiu took him to see a cool new monster, or maybe they went to a rare bookstore together!

I’m also convinced that Shen Yuan was Shen Jiu’s biggest hype-man when it came to starting his (their) own pack. Shen Jiu would question his own ability to properly nurture a pack, but Shen Yuan has seen his softer side and knows he would be such a good pack leader if Shen Jiu just gave himself a chance!
