Mordo is like a pest that never goes away lol. He shows up, tries to kill Stephen, and then leaves. This is extra awkward because Mordo used to date Clea’s mom 😭

I’ve been praising this run since the beginning, but my god, this is absolutely beautiful. Jed Mackay writes them phenomenally. These two can be incredibly violent at times, and Clea is literally the Warlord of Manhattan, but they’re so tender with each other. Stephen’s self-deprecation, his guilt, his frustration with his hands 🥹

“Acting as one.” They do share one soul, after all. How can it get more romantic than that?

Clea is still the Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension so I expect to see a Sorcerer Supreme fight between her and Victor soon.

This was a very beautiful issue. Despite Stephen losing the Sorcerer Supreme title, it doesn’t feel like a complete loss because he has more than he did than when he was the Sorcerer Supreme at the beginning of this journey in Death of Doctor Strange.

Reading Jed Mackay’s work for Stephen and Clea has been an absolute pleasure and this Doctor Strange run has consistently been written well. It’s the one comic that hasn’t disappointed me. Death of Doctor Strange was actually the first Doctor Strange comic I ever read so it’s bittersweet to see the story finally wrap up. I wish Jed Mackay could’ve stayed, but I hope the next writer handles Stephen and Clea with as much joy and care as Jed Mackay did.

hello, I hope you’re doing well! I was wondering if you can clarify something for me that I’m just a *tad* confused by.

I know Stephen and Clea separated on good terms a while ago because they had responsibilities to attend to (but obviously they still love each other). but did they ever get officially divorced?

thank you in advance. I hope it’s not a difficult question. I’d just love to make sure I’m not forgetting/misunderstanding anything. :)

Answering your question... No, they never got an official divorce. Even in the cursed Fearless Defenders, when Clea requests one, they never touch the subject again.

They give "divorced" vibes in Cates' and Waid's respective runs, but truth be told, they are not your typical married couple since they are from different dimensions and their cerimony was more like a spell that binds their souls.

So, in short, no divorce. Their souls remained bound and they never had a chance to talk about it except for this issue (Doctor Strange v4 Annual #1).

This is so true that, in Jed's run, they treat each other as spouses as soon as they reunite, as if their status as a separated couple was never officialized. Or at least this is how the chronology for this specific issue works haha.

I hope I was able to answer your question. It's confusing but if you read all their interactions after Sorcerer Supreme, this is the best you'll get when it comes to canon.

Strange rescues Clea in this sequel / prequel comic for Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme.

Loved getting to see Clea here, and this short story strengthens my stance of this adaptation being the best after OG Comic Strange.

Staying more faithful to the source material, Clea is Strange's pupil here, starting out a bit more naive but already showing a good bit of power.

I wish we could have gotten an animated serious or at least a comic for this version of Strange. The film & this comic left me wanting more - the signs of a great story.

This Dr. Strange really does have it all - development, depth, great expansion on his lore.

I feel gypped all the good adaptations of Doctor Strange were short-lived & the most we get is the MCU version which is the worst of the bunch imo. I already ranted on that, so I won't do it again here. Lmao But the saltiness is real with MCU's butchering of Strange. So I never miss a chance to take shots at it.
