It is 5am. This nightshift has been shit. Have some sabretooth musing.

Sabretooth being thrown into the pit and whole “I am really evil now guys” routine fucking sucked.

Yes sabretooth is supposed to be the bad guy. Yes he is supposed to be a serial killer and all round horrible guy who exists to cause Wolverine misery.

But throwing him into the pit right away really set a darker mood for the stories. The whole exiles thing was interesting but didn’t have much consequences tbh.

The council should have been called out more for what they did. There should have been more unease with the normal citizens who should have felt more on edge about being forced away.

And damn it it would have been more interesting to watch Sabretooth prowling away like the rest of villains who were milling about. It was a wasted story line that I am forcing myself to read through for fic purposes.

But fuck me the Uncanny x-men series and the weapon x force that followed it were amazing for sabretooth. They were top tier fic worth stories that I adored. Great relationship details and pretty sabretooth art as well!

Because they showed complexity in Sabretooth character too, he was trying to be different. Trying to change and be someone who his nature wasn’t. He was guilty and scared of himself and he was just 😍. I loved the inverted arch and I love Monet and Victors relationship.

It would have been great if that relationship had been acknowledged. There is one person on A03 who has written (nearly) all of the fics for them and I love their stuff. Other than a brief panel in Gen x I don’t think anyone has acknowledged that they were together.

Having Monet deal with being in a relationship with the old sabretooth and now having this one would have been fun. It would have made for good story and conflict in the general x men world.

So much wasted story potential.

I want more from Sabretooth. I want to see his trauma. I want to see him more than just evil man who is evil.

Where is the guy who is smart? Who used to be “I only use my claws for money and revenge”? If Sabretooth is going to be your big bad or henchman, could you at least make him dangerous?

Sabretooth war was a waste. The whole idea that Grayden was going around killing his father in alternate universes after sabretooth had saved him from Hell itself was a complete and utter dull story. Like, why couldn’t you have had graydon as a guy who was trying to change his life around Orcis trying to recuite him against his will? Why not have that? Why not have sabretooth be evil and still have his memories from being inverted? Have him still crushing on Monet.

There was so much they could have done with story. Instead they wasted so much potentional because they wanted to kill off a bunch of characters for shock “value”.

Okay I have to get back to my job but I will have more on this when I wake up this afternoon.

Trevor cheated on Helen with his student, Stacy & moved her into his & Helen's place when the latter is wrongly commited to a mental hospital. Upon her death, he hauls up in the bathroom to renenber Helen & cry.

Strange never put Christine first and told her she was nothing compared to losing his career. Also according to Christine, he was also controlling on top of being selfish. She marries a better man & Strange spends the entire rest of the film whining & moping about the woman he never cared enough to be there for.

Cherish your lovers WHEN YOU HAVE THEM!

No sympathy to either.

But again, like Rory, (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Trevor was painted as a bad guy. Rightfully so.

Strange is supposedly the protag we were meant to be rooting for.

Sorry to any PalmerStrange fans. These posts are how I vent and pass my DS fan time while waiting another 4-7 years on his next appearance, and hoping he has a real character arc.

Hated his pairing with Palmer & I am still bitter they wasted so much time on Strange being an asshole to an ex he was never meant to have when that time could've been used to focus on better things that HUMANIZE him in a positive way. For starters, a positive relationship with his FUTURE WIFE!!!!!!! Clea deserved the time & development they wasted on Christine. His past with Donna, which motivated his doctor career & is why he's so cold & controlling.

We just keep seeing Strange as the stuck up asshole with no sympathetic depth to why he's like that and no development that shows him becoming better than that.

A flashback I had during Rory's proposal to Lydia in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Rory proposes to Lydia in front of a crowd at her dad's funeral.

Strange hits on Chrisrine at her wedding with her husband near by.

Both women look uncomfortable as hell.

Only thing is. Rory is a bad guy who is shown & called out in-universe as a POS for how he treats Lydia.

Meanwhile nobody calls out how selfish & tacky Strange is there. And he's supposed to be the hero.

Please, Strange fans. Pray to any Gods there are that they keep Raimi and Waldron away from Strange in the future.

MCU Strange = Snape Rip-off

Revisiting HP, made me realize how much the MCU basically turned Strange into its version of Snape with Christine as its Lily Potter.

We have 2 dangerous wizards with surly attitudes & no friends that only cared about 1 woman whom they both snapped at & hurt in a low moment.

They then shape their futures & lives around obsessive desire for the woman they both chased away who ended up married to someone else.

Such a contrast from the boring, miserable, ex-obsessed incel (and maybe virgin) they made him in the MCU where the only good thing about him is Benedict Cumberbatch's looks. 😭

Why don’t you like cangel? It’s so much better than bangel

Hard disagree, Nonnie!

Bangel is a very organic ship which is built up naturally (albeit a little rushed in Season 1, however, this was due to not knowing if the show would be renewed) between two characters with amazing romantic and physical chemistry. It's deep and rich and it evolves over time. There is tragedy and darkness to it, but also incredible light and passion and they both inspire one another and understand each other so well.

Meanwhile Cangel is a ship that literally comes out of nowhere, between two characters who, yes, clearly care about one another but had zero romantic feelings for one another until the narrative suddenly decided that they did. There was no build up, everything was tell instead of show (kyrumption???) and, I'm sorry, but David and Charisma have next to no romantic or physical chemistry and watching them make out is so uncomfortable.

Not to mention Cangel is basically written as Bangel 2.0. Two warriors who fight side by side? Bangel did it first. Synchronised training sessions? Bangel in Revelations. Possessed by ghost lovers? Bangel in IOHEFY. One of them goes evil and the other has to kill them? Bangel Season 2. Hell, Cordelia even went blonde at the end of Season 3 which is when the ship is pushed the most!

I absolutely adore Cordelia and Angel as friends. They had great chemistry as friends, they played off one another well and the way they just didn't understand one another but kept trying to was so sweet and endearing! But as a romantic ship? It just doesn't work and pales in comparison to Bangel.

Doctor Strange & Clea Rumors

take it in: any news about the Doctor?

Alex: I’m hearing very exciting things regarding Doctor Strange’s story, leading into Secret Wars. I wrote an article a while back about Doctor Strange vs. Kang In The Multiverse Saga where I talked about Stephen Strange’s role and how essentially he’s been portrayed in most of his alternate iterations as the biggest threat to the Multiverse, given how Strange has been the one who’s been ultimately causing incursions throughout various universes.

That storyline is still being explored here, but now, instead of having Kang, you have RDJ’s Doctor Doom opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Just think about the weight of this moment: Doctor Stephen Strange, a character we have seen be a force for good, time and time again, being forced to face the reality that he is being dubbed the greatest threat in the Multiverse, with the evidence to prove it because nearly every other version of himself has allowed their ego to make bad decisions costing their reality. Opposite him, you have Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most iconic villains, an ambitious, egotistical antagonist who is trying to find the secrets of the Multiverse and the reason behind its decay to prevent the death of the Multiverse from happening.

Plus, we have the potential of RDJ and Benedict sharing a scene together, since the last time they were together, Strange told Tony Stark the only way to save his universe was to sacrifice himself. How do you think Strange would react to seeing the face of his former friend again? Even though it’s not even a variant of Tony Stark, he just has his face. Would he feel guilt? Would there be remorse? Could Strange be easily manipulated by Doom into doing his bidding? After all, they are both instrumental in the Time Runs Out and Secret Wars storylines in the comics.

Alex: He still hasn’t become Sorcerer Supreme in his universe, so I don’t think he will die until that happens.

@Hifive326: If DS3 isn’t coming until after Secret Wars, how do you expect the Strange/Clea storyline will be handled after the mid-credit scene in Multiverse of Madness?

Alex: I’ve heard through the grapevine that Doctor Strange 3 may be one of the upcoming films that will release before Secret Wars, possibly even Doomsday, but most likely Secret Wars. All of the ideas they want to incorporate for his story can’t really be condensed into a 20-minute story plot like they did with Thor in Infinity War. They have many points to cover, including Strange discovering the role he plays in the Multiverse Saga, how he reacts to it, how he and Clea develop a “companionship,” and ultimately, how he overcomes what he is “destined” to be in order to become what he was always meant to be, “the best of us,” the one who breaks away from the predestined path set for him and become the hero that ultimately saves the Multiverse.

Pr0tato: Hi Alex, hope you’re doing well! Anchor Being: Doctor Strange or Spider-Man (or both a la D&W)?

Alex: As far as anchor beings go, I believe Spider-Man is this universe’s anchor being. But I was also told that Strange’s disappearance from his universe caused instability to the fabric of reality in 616, which makes me think he may also very well be the Anchor Being of 616.

Kosta: On a scale of 1-10, how big of a role will Clea have in the Avenger films?

Alex: I don’t like numbers; they’re so arbitrary because it’s a matter of opinion. I like comparing them to character roles in other films or sagas. Clea’s overall role in the Saga for now is ensuring Strange discovers his role in the Multiverse. There have been multiple rumors about her specific role, however, ranging from being one of the Black Priests that recruits Strange into the order to another old rumor from a very old source that Clea may be one of the Black Swans assisting Doom, but at this point in time, it’s still too early for me to address.
