rewatched the lorax with my brother and parents and got a really strong urge to draw the onceler
it wouldn’t go away so I started drawing. this took like 3 hours it’s 1:39am I fucking hate him I hate the onceler so much WHY DID YOU MAKE ME SPEND SO MUCH EFFORT ON YOU GREEN BEAN LOOKING PIECE OF CRAP (/j hes actually a well thought out character)
I DOWNLOADED 2 BRUSHES FOR THIS. BOTH OF WHICH I HAD TO WATCH AN UNSKIPPABLE AD TO UNLOCK
ONCELER WHY MUST YOU BE THIS WAY
(I’m actually really proud of this though so I hope you guys like it too!! people in the lorax fandom I’m sorry I’m a fake fan)
What if what if jonathan sims/chester was like silly or smth idk
(weird little yap sesh ahead)
MILDLY INSPIRED BY THE SONG "Friends on the Otherside" from Princess and the Frog. It was recommended by spotify shuffle the moment i finished an episode of the magnus protocal and idk it like, made sense. This is more of a concept for "Chester", like i can imagine this guy crawling out of a tv screen. I KNOW ITS LIKE.. wildly out of character but it makes sense in my head and i wanted to draw it
this isnt jonathan sims really its more like Chester, that ominous figure the main cast have no idea about and sue me i know it like doesnt make sense but he was cute in my tired ass 1 am thoughts so i drew him
i feel like chapter five is gonna give “i can see you” vibes like i dunno (im delusional)
like wdym “ive been watchin' you for ages and i spend my time tryin' not to feel it” doesnt give acswy byler.
wdym “then we kiss, and you know i won't ever tell. and i could see you being my addiction” is not giving THE will byers and mike wheeler from acswy?
anyways i havent listened to the playlist (because spotify shuffles and adds like random songs..) but if i can see you is already on there im gonna feel like a um. clown. if it isnt then ill also feel like a clown! but thats my little rant🙏 thank u for reading
1. you are so so right. SOOOO SO right. in fact you are so right that 2.
i’m going to drop this preview of the ch5 portion of the playlist and run 🫡
So my smart shuffle on Spotify deigned to grace my playlist with Modest Mouse - Float On, and I really enjoyed it... As an avid Modest Mouse fan, what other songs do you recommend I listen to? What are the big musts?
float on is a good song, great song even, but as a heads up it is not super indicative to the rest of modest mouse's songs ಥ_ಥ its sort of a upbeat happier song with more polished production that isnt always what they do. that ones like "yaay we're all going to be OK 🫶 " and the rest are like "im going to make whatever god created me regret that action"
but if you liked float on, you will probably like dashboard, lampshades on fire, coyotes, the ground walks with time in a box, spitting venom, and ocean breathes salty!
its not entirely the same vibe of float on but my favorites from them are march into the sea, people as places as people, missed the boat, king rat, bukowski, and the stars are projectors.
put your music library on shuffle, then list the first five songs that come up in a poll to let people vote for which one they like the most!
thank you @raplinesmoon for the tag! ♡ i used a massive playlist on spotify that i have constructed for these games, so it's not a full library but it's pretty extensive lol.
song snippets below in case you wanna listen before you vote! (also, if anyone saw this post before no you didn't lmao. i forgot to do a read more before the song snippets making this post lonngggg & when i tried to edit tumblr didn't let me???)
no pressure tags: @sweetestofchaos @echotoyou @here4kpopfics @sabiekay @snoozing-unicorn @kittycat1dsn @vvh0adie @park-jimin-isnt-real ♡ and you! if you wanna play, tag me so i can vote!
knowing spotify shuffle isnt really random and is more like, algorithm stuff, its really funny to listen to a nine inch nails song and then it shuffles to S&M by rihanna. sure. whatever. cant argue with that
grabs spotify by the face: listen to me. listen. I have never and will never want whatever the fuck smart shuffle recommendations are added to me queue. okay? never. I hit shuffle to listen to the PLAYLIST on shuffle not the playlist and whatever the fuck you feel like adding. okay? got it? if I wanted to listen to smth that isnt on the playlist I'd add it or listen to a different fucking playlist okay?
music has always been a really important part of my life. i have been using it as a regulation tool since before i even knew what regulation tools were
when i was about 5 or 6 my dad got me a nintendo DSi and i Loved it. i used to play on it all the time. he got me an SD card for it and put a bunch of music from his music library on there, and i used to sit in my room with my headphones plugged into it just. listening to music for hours. it was mostly 90s and 00s pop, because i grew up in the 2000s and thats what i liked. mambo no. 5, s club party, grace kelly, that sort of thing.
then when i was about 12 or 13 i asked my dad to put some of his albums on my phone so that i could listen to music on there, two of those albums happened to be queens greatest hits one and two, and thus began my queen special interest
i only listened to queens greatest hits one and two, on shuffle, on repeat, all day every day for like. a year. and then i went to my dad and asked him to put All of queens albums on my phone (except flash gordon and hot space, the only two he didnt own), and then i created many Pure Queen playlists that i listened to on repeat for a few more years. in fact, i only started listening to Stuff That Isnt Queen during the first lockdown in march of 2020, when i was almost 17. so thats a good 4 or 5 years of Only Queen, because the special interest was special interesting
at that point, i made a youtube playlist of songs (mostly 90s and 00s pop) that i listened to while i did schoolwork, and i eventually transferred this playlist to spotify
i have made many playlists since then, and branched out my tastes with songs ranging from the 60s to the 10s, and i have rediscovered a lot of the songs i used to play on repeat as a kid
every time i listen to s club party there is a little kid inside me wearing shiny red headphones listening too. i have come full circle, and rediscovered what i always knew
i refuse to believe spotify's shuffle isnt random enough for you mine can literally play jpop black metal and a 1970s polish comedy song one after another and it keeps jumpscaring me
