Trend della settimana - Suit up!
Barney Stinson docet! How I Met Your Mother.

“I got the deconstructed bolero from Korea a few years ago, the top is Pula Journal, skirt is thrifted, and my boots are vintage Sportmax. I’ve always been a fan of 2000s Fruits mag looks but am highly influenced by designers I love, like Ann Demeulemeester. Lately, I’ve also developed a strong appreciation for the spring 2002 Comme des Garçons looks.”

Haute le Mode did a great dissection of Z’s Dune press looks that I recommend for everyone to watch if they have time. Luke is my favorite fashion YouTuber, and he’s taught me so much about fashion history and styling since I discovered his channel in mid 2020.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WN5thO58nt4&pp=ygUXbWV0aG9kIGRyZXNzaW5nIHplbmRheWE%3D
I could see Flo in those two Zuhair Murad dresses, but I don’t see Z as much. Z tends to favor more structural and/or avant-garde pieces for the red carpets, interviews, and photocalls. I saw quite a few garments in the new Alaïa collection I do think she would consider, and she favored Balmain, Valentino, Rick Owens, and Sportmax for the first Dune tour. I see her adding LV and Bottega in place of Valentino for the next Dune press run (if she’s still with LV). I would love to see some Miss Sohee or Dilara Findikoglu (two designers we haven’t seen her in yet), but those designers might be more Challengers coded.
i'm not really that much of a fashion girlie tbh, i just like pretty clothes and pretty pictures lol. but ughhh yes, i've been dying to see Z in Miss Sohee!!! and you're right, there was only one look from her recent collection that i can kinda see Z wear for Dune. (i'll have to check the other designer you mentioned!) but thank you sm for giving me the youtube link, anon! adding it now to my never-ending list of things to watch 😊

Dunlop Sportmax Q-Lite: Sports touring performance for lightweight bikes
Dunlop has launched its latest sports touring tyre, Sportmax Q-Lite, which combines hypersport-style performance with a high-mileage tread and improved handling. This mix makes the Sportmax Q-Lite suitable to tackle the demands of daily riding on lightweight bikes, such as the 125cc and 250cc categories. The tyre brings hypersport design and performance to the lightweight sector. Advances in the single radius profile of the Sportmax Q-Lite gives the rider a similar feel at any speed or lean angle. This feature is crucial to giving riders a consistent level of confidence whether riding in the city or navigating a twisty road. Sportmax Q-Lite replaces the TT900 GP and offers a 60% mileage improvement compared to its predecessor1. It is also a marked improvement in overall grip and handling thanks to breakthroughs in tread design allowing for an optimised contact patch even under high loads. Dunlop has developed a bespoke compound for the Sportmax Q-Lite. It features a full carbon compound with state-of-the-art grip resins that provide added grip on both wet and dry surfaces by optimising the pattern design, tyre profiles, tread compound and casing construction. The hypersport-inspired tread pattern gives it a sporty appearance with grip and handling to match. Structurally, the tyre casing stiffness has been optimised per individual size by adjusting the carcass construction and number of breakers. Furthermore, groove shapes were developed using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulation to optimise mileage and reduce uneven wear. Luca Davide Andreoni, Marketing Manager, Dunlop Europe: “Dunlop Sportmax Q-Lite is a great combination of style and technology, blinking the eye to young motorcycle enthusiasts who are looking for outstanding grip and protection combined with a stylish design."
(1) Test performed by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd in Japan in 2021, at Shirosato Test Center. Sizes 110/70-17 and 140/70-17 on YAMAHA YZF-R3 and KAWASAKI Ninja 250. Testing results obtained through tread depth measurement, comparing SPORTMAX Q-LITE and TT900GP near wear indicator in the centre part of rear tyre. Measurements recorded before testing and after 1200km. Vehicles and riders were reconfigured and switched in order to equalise the mileage. Air pressure (COLD):YZF-R3 2.0 bar Front ; 2.5 bar Rear / Ninja 250 2.0 bar Front ; 2.25 bar Rear. Individual results may vary. Do you have any favorite model and designer?
I wouldn’t say I have a favorite fashion model in particular as they are all so stunning and gorgeous! I also don’t know much about their personalities/what they are like as people so it’s tough to have a favourite. That being said I have to acknowledge Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista given that they are probably amongst the most deserving of the title “supermodel” and irreversibly changed the fashion/modeling game forever.
I admire early Vivienne Westwood…her history with Harrison Tweed for example, I love much of Margiela, Lemaire…but ultimately I am a Max Mara girl till the day I die. Max Mara is so criminally underrated I really don’t see enough of them on this site. Above all else I admire the ability to take vintage styles and transform them, rejuvenate them for the contemporary age. Breathing new life into old designs while not sacrificing their timeless elegance is in my mind the ultimate goal fashion should strive towards. The ideal of now and forever
How about you? I’d like to know your thoughts if you’re happy to share :) and thank you for the ask! ✨
#asks#if you’re interested you can check out sportmax and max mara weekend#assuming you’re not already familiar of course :)#Max and Co and Marella are also non designer high street fashion brands that are affiliated with the company#personal
