Spooks: "I have a lamb." He blurts, seeming mortified at his confession. "It's not a— it's not some stupid toy! It's a real sheep. She wanders, but she's never too far away."

Roux: Roux rummages through the pockets of his cloak, revealing a small and soft fox plushie. It's clearly been stitched up time and time again, and Roux hugs it close the moment you attempt to inspect it closer.

"... Marmade. Her name's Marmade, and.. and... she's.. fluff.."

Marcie: Marcie glares, shoving her hands in her pockets as she kicks a rock. "Comfort objects? Hah! How old do you think I am, two?"

Teddy: "Oh!! Oh, I have an alien puppet Marcie got me as a birthday gift!! I love it soo much, it has a voice recording feature, and- and.. she sets up a different message every day!" He holds out the puppet and squeezes its hand, snickering as Marcie's heavily distorted voice berates him to tidy his side of the room.

Grim: Grim smiles, blindly handing you a kaleidoscope as he stares up at the sky, mesmerised by the light pollution that floods the hazy skyline. "Try.. tt— try it!!"

Lucille: Lucille gives you a wide grin, showing you her pearly necklace. "Tobias made this for me when we started dating, you know? Long before the cult. He's always been so doting, and sweet, and… mm, I'm getting distracted. Ta-ta!"

She waves and scurries away, cupping her heating face in her hands as she frantically attempts to muffle her profuse giggling.

Tobias: Tobias blinks slowly, holding out a purple cat plushie that sluggishly climbs onto his arms and curls up around his neck.

"Her name's Cala, and.. Lulu made it with magic! She.. Lulu's really nice. I love Lulu.." He murmurs dreamily, eyes growing glassy as Cala begins to purr.

As the purring loudens, the feeling of lightheadedness you'd initially shrugged off upon arrival becomes stronger, like your brains are made of helium-filled balloons. The urge to giggle overtakes any sense of fear you may have had, and—

The purring is interrupted by a startled yelp as Cala falls off of Tobias, who stares at you with a mix of confusion and terror before falling into a daze once more. Before you can ask him anything further, he totters away, a lazy grin on his lips.

“This is where you live?”

Jason drops the duffle bag on the counter, “Yeah. It’s no manor, kid. I told you.”

He’s not self conscious. He’s not. This apartment is fuckin’ nice ok? He spent a lot of money on decor and proper kitchenware and furniture and shit.

But Jason also knows that, objectively speaking, it doesn’t hold a candle to Wayne manor and its fifty-something bedrooms. That place is basically its own country.

Bruce nods.

“I like it,” he says solemnly, walking over towards the window to peek through the blinds. The view from up here isn’t exactly panorama level but the building is one of the tallest in Crime Alley and Jason’s apartment is on the top floor, so it does provide a pretty good view of a good portion of the Alley. “It doesn’t feel as empty.”

Jason pauses where he’s resetting the traps and alarms by the door, glancing over his shoulder to where Bruce is starting to tentatively explore the living space and is struck by how violently out of place the boy looks with his rigid posture and elegantly curved eyebrows. Even the plain hoodie, faded hand-me-down jeans and ridiculous wool cap aren’t enough to hide how utterly not Crime Alley born-and-bred he is. Everything about Bruce is basically screaming rich-Bristol-trust-fund-kid.

Which, yeah. Checks out.

Jason clears his throat and clicks the security on, waiting for the small light at the side to switch from green to red.

“Your room’s the one down the hall to the left. Right one is mine. Door at the end of the hall is the bathroom.”

Bruce hikes his backpack up higher on his shoulder, eyes eerily vacant as always, but Jason wants to think that there’s a sliver of curiosity behind that steely gaze anyways as he inclines his head and makes his way down the hall.

As soon as the kid vanishes around the corner Jason allows himself a moment to exhale and run a hand down his face tiredly.

Jesus fucking Christ.

What was he thinking.

How the fuck is he supposed to raise a tiny Bruce Wayne with his older furry counterpart running around Gotham at night hunting criminals? Criminals like Jason?

Nothing. He was thinking nothing. And it’s about to bite him in the ass.

No way can he build a criminal empire and take over the drugs and weapons trade with a traumatized nine year old dependent on him.

God dammit.

Roux offers a fancy, fluffy coat from a recently deceased hunter — it’s only got a little bit of blood! Treat!!!

Lucille grins, looking down at you from atop one of her follower’s shoulders. "Hi, dear. I’m so glad you’ve come to submit your… huh?" Give her a moment.

"You’re… asking me for tricks or treats?" Her jaw drops, mumbling something into her follower’s ear as they nod lazily.

"You know… typically, I’m the person such luxuries are bestowed upon. I suppose I can excuse your audacity just this once.." She huffs softly, summoning a wave of pink fog toward you. "Ahahahaa!! Trick!"

After everyone went back home from this week's Wild Life session, Grian would not stop clinging to Scar. He's worried about him. I mean rightly so too, his husband has uh...not had the best session to say the least...

So once they're back on hermitcraft? Straight to the inside of Grian's blue house part of his base and into the spare bed he keeps there. Immediately cuddling into Scar and not letting go.

Scar assures him it's OK and that he'll be fine and cards his fingers through his hair and they just stay there for several hours eventually falling asleep

Grian doesn't speak about his feelings. Complaining when he's mildly sick? Yeah. But when he's actually hurt and worried? Not a chance.

But Scar knows he worries. Grian worries a lot, the silly fool! Even though Scar's perfectly fine - he gets to kill people now! He'll make the most of worried Grian cuddles, though. Cute and therapeutic.
