!Teenage Mercenary Chapter 168 Spoilers!

So 003 is someone who likes to take the easy way out, especially when it benefits her. She has a silver tongue-- using words to persuade and manipulate her enemy into doing what she wants. She tries to do this with the numbers in this chapter but they all recognize her attempt at manipulating them after years of seeing her distinctive brand of cruelty.

016 calling it her trying to psycho-whatchamacallit them made me laugh lmao. I'm not really sure what he was trying to say but it was hilarious.

Also, it makes sense that 002 was so wary of her and took care to pay attention to her words when she was talking to them in the last few chapters. He was obviously wary but it's pretty clear that the fact that she was the one who betrayed them hit him pretty hard when we look at what he says to Ijin at the end of the chapter.

I think the fact that Ijin, who was their leader, was able to live a normal life and smile with his family gave the numbers hope that maybe they don't always have to live like this. Constantly watching their backs and running away. Maybe they do have the chance to have the life that was taken from them when they were young.

And 003 crushed that hope. They'll never be able to live normally because they're not normal. They have nowhere safe to stay-- they can't even fully trust one another. It's an exhausting way to live and 003 knew that and that's why she offered to make that mercenary business. Offering them a safe haven. A trap to lure them in before she killed them.

The exhausted look on 002's face when he says "We're all like that" is heartbreaking. Stop for hurting my babies, 003!

Anyway, this adds more to my theory that she's working with Iron to kill all the numbers, who are all pretty much loose cannons at this point. She's allowed to live as long as she kills the others.

This would add an interesting twist because, in the little flashback, she tells those men that she'll let them live as long as they become her subordinates and then asks if they really believed her when she kills them. I think that's probably how she's gonna die. Idk, that's the feeling I'm getting about her.

I'm curious to see the fight between her and Ijin when he was running away as well as Ijin's impression of her because he seemed pretty shocked that she was the one that killed the rest of the numbers that night.

Also, that number that told Ijin to run far away from camp and thanked him for all the time they spent together made me tear up a bit. They were all people fighting to survive in the camp, they weren't weapons or monsters. They were just people desperate to survive and there's something so gut wrenching about that and the connections all the numbers must've had.

so my new Tav is called Sakina. 🩷 And of course I had to find a way to make her fit into the Kiwi Lore™ so here we are:

Zevlor and Sakina had a fling decades before the Descent – Zevlor wasn't even a Commander back then. Sakina travelled far and wide and usually offered her martial abilities. She's been called a "stone-cold bitch" more than once lmao. Sakina appears cold, haughty and biting, as witty as she is cutting, but once you know her you realize that underneath that typical drow exterior she's a caring person who yearns for a family in the loose sense of the term.

Sakina finds her way into Thay as she works for a travelling patron. Thanks to his connections she was introduced at court where she ran into Zevlor. They were both surprised to see the other lol but Sakina quickly used this connection to get herself a spot in Lofn's political entourage. Sakina's current ambition is to be Zevlor's right-hand man, though Zevlor is bit wary of her.

Aedric discovered the connexion between them and promptly told Lofn of course lmao. He hates Sakina and sees her as a homewrecker even though she is clearly not interested in Zevlor sexually or romantically. Aedric and Sakina bicker all the time and become each other's nemesis. They are so involved with each other it's starting to get weird. Why does it look like you guys are in a relationship..... Spoiler alert they end up making out lmao and Sakina becomes Aedric's fifth and, everyone hope, last wife.

Aedric’s footsteps echoed softly in the castles grand hall as he approached, his mind preoccupied with the recent discovery that had set his nerves on edge. He had overheard a conversation between Zevlor and Sakina, bits of their shared past drifting to him as he leaned against the wall, listening.

The newfound information had been unexpected, and he of course felt compelled to hastily tell his beloved sister.

It wasn’t hard to find her, she was in her sunlit chamber, staring out her balcony watching as Vyrmoth and Aetherion flew above the city- her hand resting on the swell of her stomach.

She turned to face him, her face softening slightly at his arrival, “Aedric, what a pleasant surprise. Is something wrong? You look troubled...” her face pinched with concern as he neared.

He shook his head and offered a gentle smile, he had not wanted to worry her but he could see it was already too late for that. He sighed and looked to her, “Sister, I-“ he started, but stopped, uncertain of how to begin. He looked to her belly and placed a hand on the small bulge, and he felt a pang of fear. He loved his sister, and he knew how much Zevlor meant to her… And how she looked at Sakina as a friend now, “I need to tell you something about Zevlor and Sakina.”

Lofn listened, her expression a mask of calm, though Aedric could sense the flicker of surprise beneath her composed exterior. She nodded, absorbing the information with a quiet grace that only deepened his respect for her. But he could see it, the way her lip quivered, how her brow furrowed… She was fighting the rage that bubbled beneath the surface. No matter how hard she tried to fight it, she was possessive over Zevlor, and she was not one who shared her things well… Even if it was from the past.

She smiled a bitter smile, and looked back out towards the sky. Her hand rested protectively over her stomach as she spoke, “I thank you, Aedric. I will speak with Zevlor later, for now though I will leave Sakina be. She has not mentioned this to me, and I would rather not force her hand in the matter. As long as she poses no threat to my child, or Zevlor, or even myself… there is no need to cause trouble...”

She paused, her voice a soft murmur, almost as if she were talking more to herself than Aedric, as if she were trying to convince herself, as if she were trying to talk down her inner dragon.

Aedric was Aedric though, and throughout the week, he found himself trying to get the Drow woman to up and leave Thay. Finding himself in a series of heated exchanges with Sakina. Their bickering was relentless, like two angry cats. It had been intentional, it was just his way of trying to protect his family. And Sakina was too prideful and stubborn to back down.

“Why don't you just go back to where you came from? Crawl back into the underground with the rest of your spider kin.” he snapped during one particularly volatile argument.

Sakina's eyes narrowed, a hiss escaping her, she took a step towards him and poked his chest roughly, her words a low snarl, “Why don't you admit you have no real power here, Aedric?” her words cutting deep, “You're not of Lofn's blood… Of the Queens blood…”

As she turned to leave, Aedric's hand shot out, gripping her arm with a force that surprised her. Yanking her back he glared down at her, a deep growl rumbling in his chest as their eyes locked.

Before he could even second guess himself, Aedric leaned in, capturing her lips with his own.

Her eyes widened, a startled gasp slipping past her lips, giving him the opportunity he needed. Forcing his tongue within her mouth, claiming her with his kiss.

She didn’t fight it, didn’t push him off her, instead she allowed Aedric to push her against the nearest wall, her fingers tangling into his long locks- her own tongue fighting against his.

Effortlessly, he bent down slightly and wrapped her legs around his muscular arms, hoisting her up… Pinning her body between him and the wall, his cock pressing firmly against her core through the fabric of their clothes.

His voice was low, his nose pressing against the softness of her neck, “Let me show you, who has no power here, Sakina. You have no power over me. Let me claim you... right now. Right here...” he ground himself against her, causing her breath to catch, her head to tip back, and her lips part, “I can't stand to watch you walk about this castle like you belong, when you don't. I can't stand seeing you around Zevlor and Lofn, acting like a part of this family…”

Her breath was ragged, but her words were defiant, her hips grinding back against him, her lips brushing against his ear, her tone teasing, mocking, almost challenging, her voice a purr, “If I'm not apart of the family, why are you so desperate to fuck me?”

They could act like they were still angry at each other, they could deny it, but their bodies didn't lie… And in truth, Aedric wouldn’t admit it, but he was tired of their endless game of cat and mouse. He wanted to catch her, and he was determined to make her his.

Maddi's Reaction to TBB S3 Finale

Ofc Omega found a way to release the Zillo Beast. And Echo's reaction was amazing. "How do you know?" "Because it's exactly what I'd do!"

I was so fucking convinced that the og operative - the one with the sniper rifle - was gonna be Winter Soldier-ified Tech. Like, I was banking on it, and it turns out he was just a random clone. (I might make a rewrite changing that outcome lol)

Emerie finally became a good guy! After Episode 10, I was rooting for her to wake the fuck up haha. Glad she came to her senses, and very proud that Echo had the sense to trust her.

Oh, speaking of the not-actually-Tech operative, HE CUT CROSSHAIR'S HAND OFF?! CROSSHAIR BBY NOOOO

Hunter and Crosshair finally acting like brothers again makes my heart so happy. "You should stay here. I'll go after Omega." "Not a chance."

Ooh, when Echo found Omega and the other kids, the way he greeted her made me wanna cry a little bit. And the way the kids hugged her before Emerie flew them to safety - guys, my heart can't take this cuteness.

Echo's speech to the prisoners gave me Fives' battle for Kamino speech. "You've all been through enough, and you all deserve your freedom, but Omega and I can't do this alone. Will any of you help us?" compared to "We're one of the same. Same heart, same blood. And my blood's boiling for a fight." "But what about our training?" "Your training is in your blood."

Hunter, Crosshair, and Omega working together almost non-verbally to kill Hemlock was amazing. Our baby Omega has grown up so much since Season 1, and I'm so proud of her. Also, yay, Hemlock is dead!

Nala Se's "sacrifice" to destroy her work kinda made me tear up, ngl. (I say "sacrifice" because it wasn't a big thing like Tech's death, she just got shot by Rampart and dropped the detonator at his feet. It still made me tear up tho.)

Everyone recovering on Pabu made me so happy, but we didn't see Phee and Omega reunite, which was kind of a let-down. But, everyone's safe and happy, so I'll take it.

Now for the big thing: THE END SCENE

Oh my god baby Omega grew up so much. Her long hair in the really loose and messy ponytail made me so happy haha. Also, was that Hunter's bandana? TBB team, can we confirm?

Speaking of Hunter, his older look makes me so happy. No armor, just soft, comfortable clothes. (I do miss the old bandana though)

Hunter's concern about Omega becoming a Rebellion pilot is so fatherly omfg. Also, our baby is a Rebellion pilot!!

Omega's little salute to Hunter and Batcher made my heart melt a little. Seeing Tech's goggles on the dashboard also didn't help. And Hunter's final line - "She'll be fine."

Guys, I'm in awe. This episode was amazing. Laughed, cried, and melted the whole way through. Perfect ending for our favorite squad.

Something kinda similar happens in Fenns route where Fenn is flirting with Guy and he just kinda let's it slide, he's more dismissive yeah but even when Fenn drapes himself over Guys body he just kinda let's it happen💀 I forget exactly what happened in that scene but I'm going to reread Fenns path soon so I'll probably edit this post

Fenn also has a thing for Red eyes, it's one of the reasons Fenn was so drawn to MC in the first place because the first woman he ever loved was a groomer an Avarian with red eyes

There are many sequences of Fenn complimenting the other Avarian characters for their eyes, the battle sequences at the top of my head, turn on the effects when you go to do battles, doesn't matter if its event battle or regular battle, and the sequences will appear with the character whose route your currently reading in the top right and your opponent in the bottom left, the characters will usually say a word or two before your left to tap tap tap, there are like standard regular lines they'll say but there are like pairing specific ones that appears every once in a while, example Guy vs the headmaster, guy will say "I must best you" or something like that(I forgot exactly what) and the headmaster will say "Peace Master Avari" regardless of whether your playing Guy or the headmaster, it just changes who says it first, Tino vs Lynt is, Tino has "oh no... young master..." and Lynt says "I prefer your bread" its specific to the pairing, but I forgot whether its Guy or Jasper but if you're playing Fenns path(or Guy or Jasper) and your opponent is one of them(or Fenn) he'll say "I really like your eyes"

Every one and they mom knows how I talk about that crave event like I think the dev's were just having a bit of fun nah cus I think they wanted them to kiss more than anyone else💀💀💀, in the event Craving Conjured theres the drug or potion running around called crave and in Guys route, Guy happens to ingest some and its pretty much an aphrodisiac, the issue is Guy is MC are having relationship problems, they're fighting so Guy doesn't want to go to her to you know bang it out cus he thinks he's right(he's not) and MC who doesn't know he's ingested crave just sees him bedridden and is worried about him but Guy still pushes her away, Guy is wrong btw, they were fighting about Guys lack of verbal communication and MC is pretty much like I'm not like Jasper I dont know how you feel all the time unless you tell me and I cant know what you want from me unless you ask and Guys stubborn ass is like but you should know though and MCs like how the hell am I supposed to know, anyway they like stop talking for a bit, Guy has crave, is extremely horny, and since him and MC are fighting he's like I'm finna tough this out😈(he can't) and guess what sounds like a better option to him? So Miu tried to kill Kokichi (this is proved because of the setting she added to him, her touching him makes him unable to move), but an error occured on her avatar making the effect of him not being able to move when he touched her the opposite, so they somehow met, and maybe Miu used the phone and pink mobile to teleport between the chapel and mansion.

That was when the killer killed her in-game somehow... she was clearly struggling, so she was strangled somehow... maybe with the toilet paper. The culprit must have used it to climb on and off from the roof BECAUSE MIU SAID NO MATTER HOW FAR IT STRETCHED RUBBER BANDS WERE UNBREAKABLE.

Her avatar had the object setting on, so no matter how far she stretched she couldn't break. That was how she was strangled.

My Transformers One Review

(No spoilers for now)

It was AWESOME, litteraly the best movie I've ever watched. It was interesting from start to finish, it was funny AND they did a great job on the important scenes, catching well the emotions of the characters. So well that I got emotional many times and cried once, that says enough. The fights were, WOW and the animation is extraordinary. Even my non-Transformers fan friend loved it (she came with me), she knows nothing about it yet she liked it.

I give it a 10/10, but in reality it's a Best Movie Existing/10. I recommend it 100%, PLEASE I NEED TO YAP ABOUT IT- Excited for the second movie...? :]

I bought a shirt, pillow and got those cups at the cinema with the lil figurines. Yeah, I loved it. I want to watch it every single day now istg LMAO

Ok, so, the start was super goofy especially the scene where Orion "Transformed" XD Laughed hard at that one, same with the "My finger can transform" later on. Pax and D-16 makes me sick, THEY ARE SO CUTE???? Orion even got him a Megatronus-wathever-his-name-was sticker! Which is when I understood where the Decepticons logo is from and D-16's name.

Orion is super sweet and very caring, he saved Jazz even when Elita told him to get out! I can't believe how different he is as a 'normal bot'. Same with D-16, I was surprised at how he didn't want to break protocol and all.

SENTINEL PRIME IS SUCH AN ASSHOLEEEEE! I wanted to kill him myself, understood D-16 very well.

I hate how D-16 became slowly filled with rage, slowly letting down Orion. It hurts me so much 😭 They all had the same intention, but D got so blinded by rage it went downhill. They did such a great job slowly transitioning him, dang, my heart.

B-127 (Hope I got that right) IS ADORABLE!!! I love his lil 'antennas' and goofy personality.

I was never a big fan of Elita, but I liked her in that movie.

STARSCREAM IS BEAUTIFUL-... Buttt his voice doesn't match. It does, but in a way that it's not the perfect va. When D screwed up his voice box it was kinda funny, he sounded like a girl LMAO

Shockwave and Soundwave are also very beautiful, I love them!

THE MOMENT D SHOT ORION AND LET HIM FALL MY HEARTTTT- Like, what if: Orion wouldn't have gained the Matrix of leadership? He'd still be dead and Megatron would've taken over??? Gosh, their fight was great, it just hurts so much.

In my opinion, D-16 was blinded by rage with good intention. He was brave, but wrong when he said "I have nothing else to loose". He had Orion. So, he was an asshole for doing all the things he did + becoming Megatron. I'm so sorry for Pax, their breakup broke me man 💔

As mentioned before, I'll be sharing my top 10 anime characters that could solo my beloved sweet baby boy Binghe. This is both serious and not at all serious. Disclaimer: I love him, he's my good son, but he also needs some competition to keep his head nice and deflated. I'm sticking with 1 character per show to keep things fresh. Also "anime" is a... loosely used term here lmao. Also also, manga/LN spoilers ahead for some shows.

Without further ado (and in no particular order):

10. Uzumaki Naruto (and friends)

Definitely the most obvious so I'm putting it first. Honestly the Naruto cast could've had its own top 10, but rules are rules. That Talk No Jutsu is fucking lethal. If he couldn't TedTalk Binghe into a reluctant friendship, he'd rock his shit first and THEN befriend him. Without so much as a filler episode.

I'm of the mind that any Kage-level character could wipe the floor with my son, Mano y Mano. But even a solid jonin team would have some serious hands for him.

9. Saitama from One Punch Man

I haven't watched the full thing, but ending careers with 1 punch is literally his job, so I'm taking this one on good faith that he'd also be fast enough to catch Binghe at all.

8. Yoriichi from Demon Slayer

The only thing that could defeat this man was his own sadness. He'd clap TLJ and then come for Binghe without so much as a snack break.

7. Hua Cheng from TGCF (yes I know it's a donghua shut up)

Call me biased, I don't care. Hua Cheng would obliterate this man without even thinking about it. He'd laugh, too, because he's an asshole. And then go home to bang Xie Lian.

6. Rimuru from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

I don't like this man or this show. But no one can tell me he wouldn't just. Eat Binghe. Like full vore, as is canon of his abilities. He's done it with physically larger targets and succeeded, he could do it for some pretty boy. Binghe wouldn't even be the first demon king he's fought.

5. Aang from The Last Airbender

I SAID WHAT I SAID. Specifically in his Avatar State, I firmly believe he'd clap Binghe if led to believe it was absolutely necessary. Like the literal world ending. He exorcised a man when he was 12, I think Aang at his peak could handle an emo boy in need of an exorcism.

4. Saiki Kusuo from the Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

He'd dust Binghe out of existence before homie even knew what hit him. Argue with the wall.

3. Yumiella Dolkness from Villainess Level 99

I don't even really like her, but considering she's taken on a demon king of her own before, and is capable of making black holes big enough to swallow cities without breaking a sweat, she'll at least be a worthy opponent.

2. Kumoko/D from So I'm a Spider, So What?

Literally a god. The world-ending kind, and that's when she's being chill about it. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up being in control of the System tormenting poor SQQ and SQH. She's not as advanced in the anime, but in the light novel ending a world is literally light work. She's done it before and she'll do it again.

1. Mash Burnedead from Mashle

I haven't even caught up 100% with this show but I don't care. It doesn't even matter that Mash can't do magic. Actually, it's precisely BECAUSE he can't do magic that I firmly believe he deserves a place on this list because that just means this human dude is just Built Different. Binghe would throw a bunch of spiritual/demonic energy attacks at him and Mash would just bitch slap it out of the way. And then bitch slap Binghe. Worst part is that he wouldn't even realize they're fighting for real, which would permanently ruin Binghe's self esteem, IMO.

Honorable mentions:

Gabimaru from Hell's Paradise

I don't think he COULDN'T take Binghe on, just that it's unlikely he'd survive, honestly. Cultivation is real in their world kinda, and from what I've watched he's not yet capable of taking one on by himself 100%. But he's tenacious and skilled, so he'd at least get a few good ones in before Binghe smokes him. With a good crew and a battle plan, he'd be able to lock an average Binghe under a mountain.

Sailor Moon

The only reason she isn't on top 10 is because I'm not confident in her ability to take hits. She's great at dishing them out, but in the event Binghe manages to get a good whack in, I feel like it'll be over for her. I don't think she's fast enough to reliably dodge the whole time either. Plus, I barely remember the OG show, so it's kind of odd to be comparing her to stuff like Naruto, which I know well.

Hina from Hinamatsuri

Just offer a lifetime supply of red caviar and Binghe's a dead man. That being said, I don't think she'd walk away unscathed. This battle would mostly be dictated by how it starts. If she has the element of surprise, he's dead. If Binghe is suitably enraged (say, Xin Mo possession style), Hina's a goner. Hence she isn't strong enough to be able to beat him soundly in all scenarios.

Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul

He's pretty cool. Also likes to eat flesh. I don't think he's as fast at it as Rimuru is, but then again I also gave up watching after the first season. Gets an honorable mention because he might actually be stronger than I think.

Goku

He's fucking Goku. I just have never watched this show so I didn't feel comfortable ranking him.

Kibutsuji Muzan + Upper moons from Demon Slayer

Any of them would be a solid threat. However, considering they get their asses handed to them by a bunch of human high schoolers and fold at the tiniest ray of sunlight, I figure the moons would be somewhat of a miniboss vs final boss in terms of power scaling.

Muzan probably would've gotten a place on the list if not for Yoriichi. Also, as said, anyone that gets clapped by a bunch of high schoolers in their own home gets a permanent L. Shine a lamp on him and it's over for bro.

Hashiras from Demon Slayer

Not a single one of them can 1v1 any upper moons. That being said, they still managed to body all of them. They go down with them though, so I'd say it would take all of the hashiras (maybe including pre-canon ones) to take down the average Binghe. And they'd all die doing it.

Hero of Time/Hero of the Wilds Link from Legend of Zelda

Is this an anime? No. Do I care? Not really. Fighting opponents wildly out of his league but ultimately winning anyway is literally his canon lore. All Link needs is a slingshot and an ocarina and he'll fight the fucking moon. He's no slouch in recent games either; a beef bowl and a stick is all it takes for him to take on the immortal demon king possessing the castle in nothing but his goddamn boxers.

This was my list!!! Very long, but a lot of fun. Let me know what your own lists are, I'm curious lol.

Euh oh boy hmm I guess I have severals ones but I will say the fact that she really respected and had huge admiration for Gehrman. I really wanna know what happened in their goddamn life to have such a strong bond (whatever the interprets just platonically have a strong connection at least).

And I will add that I headcanon she could really do blood pyromancy for real if she really wanted to or loose control. And that's why she almost never did from her living, it terrifyed her.

Hmmmm... ok I got it thanks XD Well while hc about him being neurodivergent aren't unique, me projecting all my knowledge in geology into him is XD I imagined even with his very modest childhood he liked reading books, to discover and learn things about nature and the world around him.

Seeing a lil meteorite crash in the field and recovering it changed him as well! So yes besides being a strong fighter with good survival skills, having the ability to make weapons, know the materials' characteristics etc I like to imagine he did learn more on geology, geography, cartography, how to built mines and underground tunnels, and a bit of astronomy as well! Always useful on the field! He can easily recognize the 3 different irons ore as well! Everyone is confuse but it feel very easy to him to differentiate hematite from magnetite from siderite x)

I'm actively putting on my tinfoil hat as we speak but... the more Zeno plays up the whole 'Oh Hunter and Willow Are Such Good Friends' on twitter the more I think we have a big Huntlow Confirmed Romantic moment still to come in the last special. I feel like he's trolling just for fun but also because he knows there's only a limited amount of time he can plausibly say 'uwu just friends!' about them and he's milking it.

I will always respect and appreciate those who fight the good tinfoil hat fight. My own personal reading on all of this is that it confirms that the finger link WAS the big Huntlow Confirmed Romantic moment. Because I feel like that's why Zeno keeps milking the "friendship :)" joke. Because it is very obviously not. And he's never gonna stop saying it. Cuz it's funny as hell.

He made the joke sparingly over the months before FTF aired when the canon content consisted of Hunter blushing and Willow going feral when he was threatened. But he's really amped it up now that more stuff has happened.

Like I was very much in the opinion that, depending on if you squint or not, the finger thing could be interpreted as ambiguous. Maybe. Possibly. Then as soon as the episode aired, he went and said this shit.

Which I consider as good a confirmation as any lmao. No platonic intent behind this scene whatsoever. It's explicitly romantic.

Zeno has also been very funny because he'll say shit like "what is huntlow? Is that a band? Do they have good songs?" and then rt art of them smooching in the same breath. He's liked and rted art of them before, though he was kinda cryptic about it. Removing it within an hour. It's as if somebody contacted him like "Hey!! Spoilers!! Cut that out!!"

This led to people turning his huntlow teasing into a bit of a meme, something he happily leaned into. Like he knew everyone else knew that something was going on with those little guys. But he was still not allowed to talk about it. So he was all "They're friends :)", knowing everybody got what he was putting down. Now he's apparently been given the okay to post about it, considering all the art rts, their relationship is no longer considered "spoilers" apparently, he's teasing about dubbing over a comic where Hunter refers to Willow as his girlfriend, like??? The man is fully free. He's been set loose. Huntlow is as canon as canon can be. I don't personally think his "advanced friendship" gag is hinting at anything bigger still to come. I think he's just committed to the bit. Man's got jokes.

But yeah I honestly see FTF as a "wrap" on Huntlow, the same way Hooty's door was a "wrap" on Lumity. In the same vein that Dana started posting and rting explicitly romantic Lumity art only after Hooty's door aired, she only interacted with Huntlow art after FTF. (Most notably stuff that was captioned "they're canon now") Like Zeno made a few slip ups but Dana never did. She's very careful about the art she interacts with, because people are quick to take her liking art as official creator approval and sometimes take it too far. So like. Huntlow canon bro. Huntlow painfully canon. They're officially established now. That's a wrap, folks.

Not that Huntlow's sweet little love story is over. Just like Lumity wasn't over after they were established. However, Lumity asked each other out at a somewhat low stakes point in the series. They had a little while to breathe and adjust as a newly formed teenage relationship. They got to have their silly little honeymoon phase and we got to see a glimpse into their mundane but adorable slice of life transition into girlfriends.

Meanwhile, Huntlow doesn't really have that privilege. They established themselves during a high stakes climax. They don't really have time to sit down and talk about this any further. Judging by whatever the Collector triggered at the end of the episode, they're probably gonna be more preoccupied with staying alive than entertaining thoughts about the fact that they're kinda sorta dating now.

Stuff's definitely gonna happen. I imagine they'll be joined at the hip over the course of WAD (possibly separated for plot related reasons and might be overly sentimental when they part ways and/or reunite.) If we get a breather or two throughout the ep, maybe they can flirt or hold hands or something dumb like that. Maybe some stuff linking them to Caleb and Evelyn. Idk if they're smooching. I seriously doubt it. I don't really believe we're getting any kind of kiss in the next special but a silly little cheek smooch like lumity in follies isn't unlikely. I could see it.

But yeah. I don't believe we're getting a bigger and grander romantic moment than the finger link, but I think we're gonna get a bunch of little ones instead. They don't have a lot of time to be cringe but I think they're gonna take advantage of every available moment to be complete losers for each other. I believe in them.

BLACK CLOVER SPOILERS

Been a while since I've fully written out my thoughts on the recent BC chapters. (I think May was the last time I did?) Anywho, these are my opinions—and I stress, MY OPINIONS!—on the recent chapters. I have to admit that my feelings about them are mixed, and I'll get into why. (Probably gonna get cancelled over this but yolo I guess loool)

First, I'd like to address the difference between Tumblr & Twitter discourse regarding Black Clover. From my personal experience, I find that Twitter discourse is more focused on the fights & power-ranking system—which, of course, is absolutely essential to the genre. Power-ups are a tangible way of measuring character growth, after all.

On the other hand, Tumblr discourse is more focused on the relationships between the characters & the overarching narrative of the work. Now, I'm not saying that one is better than the other, because all of these elements are important. I had to talk about the distinction because my criticisms of the recent chapters might be better explained with this context in mind.

As someone who enjoys BC specifically because of the relationships between the characters and the world-building, I've found that the story post-Elf arc has been really... flat. I know Twitter folks will say that BC's pacing has always been quick, but I've been missing some moments where the characters just have room to breathe, you know? Like when Spade Raid ended, we had half a chapter of fun before immediately jumping into the next arc, and I feel like it would have been nice to get a little more exposition on how Spade changed character dynamics. Like, they could have given us a little Greyche moment so their current state in the manga would hit that much harder. Or more bonding time between Nacht and the Bulls, so we appreciate their determination to find Asta together a little more? Does this make any sense? Lmao

Adding to that, I think the quick pacing is detrimental to BC's strengths. A lot of people like the story because there are so many characters with very interesting backstories and motivations, but the nature of the storytelling doesn't leave a lot of room to explore the depths of these characters. Tbh, the Black Bulls' stories are just as important to tell as Asta's journey to becoming WK. Side characters enrich the world, so I'm not a huge fan of glossing over what could have been really impactful moments for characters other than Asta/Yuno/Yami to shine.

For example, someone brought up a great point that the BB fight against Damnatio was symbolic of the uprooting of Clover's caste system. You have this group of outcasts, some who were personally victimized by the corruption of the kingdom as represented by Damnatio, fighting to save the people who shunned them. It would have been nice to get flashbacks of the way that the kingdom has affronted them: Zora grappling with his dad's death and what it meant to be a Magic Knight, Gauche's history of being a convict and being separated from his only family, etc.

I'm glad that we at least had that moment with Nero, and we got to see how Asta specifically changed the trajectory of her life; how she sees Lumiere's vision of the world in Asta's ideal vision when he becomes WK. But I wish they had done the same for the other Bulls or even non-Bulls too, especially since Lucius mentioned that this whole timeline was affected by Asta. That's why I'm sort of disappointed that Asta came back right away to end things. I feel like it would have been more significant if Damnatio had been heavily injured and Asta were to deal the last blow than an unharmed Damnatio and Asta landing a fatal blow only once.

I'm still holding out hope that we'll get more of the Bulls in this arc, though there are currently a lot of loose ends and Asta's already back in the picture. So I finally got my life together enough to continue my C3 watch... I'm still at 33, I've made more progress on C1 recently. Finally the combination of finding Mini Metro and actually logging onto Tumblr on the web made the barrier of watching Those Episodes bearable.

Spoilers for ep 33 and minor vibe spoilers for episodes in the future that I'm not sure of but its all stuff I absorbed via osmosis and fandom.

It's been almost a full year since these episodes came out and I was mindlessly scrolling Tumblr during my 10am linguistics lecture and stumbled upon everyone panicking because of the lack of diamonds for the amount of people who died. Anyway.

The anxiety of not quite remembering exactly I learned happened is not doing me any favors, but good god, I can really only handle some of this stuff not watching live.

Anyway, here are some assorted thoughts:

Liam you really did not have to make me Feel Things about Orym and his husband while Orym is passing out.

It's really interesting to see so many of them up and huddled around the map, things are really getting heated, with Liam just living behind Ashley and Laura's chairs.

You really only see the uber creative dumb shit Hail Mary calls when things are extremely dire.

[chapter 19 spoilers below]

to write: weiss having that really gay thirsty moment @ yang. this toed the line between weiss being gay and weiss being a [vampire] but i think it was fun to play with the idea of repression and desire. definitely had some moments of being like damn this is gayer than i expected but still fun. the fight overall was fun to write but even moreso because i knew how the aftermath went. i was happy to write that first.

to read: i love weiss' emergency conversation with klein. i think her relationship with him is so interesting and when she needed to get away from the room, i had to think about what would she do? she was at a point where she needed to talk to someone. the idea of him having been someone she could go to on the DL and confide in feels right to me. i put waaaaay too much thought into a way for them to chat that skirted plausible deniability. as implied, weiss' everything is connected and monitored. more on that later

for the payoff: ashes to ashes to ashes! poor weiss, so fond of fine cuisine from the very beginning, no longer being able to taste anything she likes. someone pointed out in a comment that ive been leading up to that since the very beginning with the steak and lemon pie and that made me giggle so happily. food has been so important, one because i love cooking but also two because i knew where this was going the whole damn time

for the implications: the velvet/yatsu study sesh is me trying to find that natural rhythm that leads to velvet describing weiss as a close friend in after the fall. as im (un)healthily obsessed with the novels, i take a lot of vibes from them. there's a lot of future implications that i cannot fucking talk about with this scene, but it's fine. :)

planned: ugghhhhhh it's a toss up between the very beginning and the very end. the 'weiss doesn't know what to freak about about first' thru to 'tooth, that's a tooth, my tooth' and 'weiss screams herself awake' were some of the only pieces actually written when i finished 18. i love the cliffhanger a lot but i love weiss just waking up in absolute horror. ch 19 was a single page of those two bits and a few mini plot beats. which is why i thought it was gonna be short but lmao. longest chapter to date. I'd say weiss is trying fight nora for her queen of the castle status but they're gonna kiss [eventually], not fight.

unplanned: the fucking rage of weiss when she learned what jacques did. i did nooooot see that coming. that just spilled out of me. she was mad. i was mad. it just happened and it was a loose end that needed some closure. i wanted to hug her so bad because she's pissed but she's also aware it was a disproportionate response but also not but also scary. i want her to be mad about it

sorry this got cut abruptly bc i had to pay attention in class! but yeah, those are some of my favorites and that's definitely not all of them.

update on how my family’s managing after DotD

no joke christmas was ruined- felt the evil energy of the bbc merlin writers ten years ago, running through my veins, as I clicked on part 2 on prime video ;)

they soldiered through the first part like champs, only small comments on Arthur’s round table speech they wondered how Elyan’s seat had been replaced and immediately clocked Eira as a traitor bc ‘that’s something the show always does 🙄’

sisters were crying when Merlin was stuck in the crystal cave, and I was crying when he walked up the landslide of rocks after Balinor and disappeared into a halo of white light..

then the second episode started and I was

s h a k i n g

(still hearing the words ‘just really sad’ and ‘I can’t believe it’ and ‘she tricked us 😦’ in the living room as I type this up, and it’s been way more than 24 hours later…)

Gwen was so badass! 🥰 and Merlin was out there winning! And I remembered why this was so terrible the first time, the show works hard to give us this false sense of security.

I clicked on the episode knowing that within 5 minutes Arthur would be stabbed and I’d be able to retire from my long career as a loving older sister.

It was literally a ‘gasps hears around the world’ kinda moment, they all sat up and then, my second youngest sister the Mordred stan (she dressed up as him for our s2 finale costume contest) burst into tears! and I actually felt really bad.

But then the magic reveal!

It was deadly quiet when Merlin revealed his magic and there were a few long sighs when Arthur turned away to say ‘leave me’. I was pretty much inconsolable and this is my third rewatch personally. They did! make the connection between Merlin’s ‘fire dragon’ from ‘Moment of Truth’ and the one from this ep however :)

Then we had the long haul of waiting for the beginning of the real end really, and I was relieved to hear them giggle when Arthur and Merlin reminiscenced about their first market place fight, and Merlin’s ‘charm’.

then… The Real End

Of course my little brother (if you remember him from his story ‘Morgana’s Weak Quickening) had to gloat about how Merlin had ended her, just as he’d predicted, and everyone was shushing and glaring at him because it wasn’t the time lmao

I was already crying for real by the time Merlin had Arthur in his arms and they were exchanging their last words, and I was surprised to find later that they did! hear Arthur say ‘just hold me… please’ because I hadn’t heard it on my first watch.

There were no gasps or shouts when Arthur died, just silence…

No one jumped when the truck came on scene as a jumpscare (I was kind of mad at myself for getting startled even though I knew!), and then Merlin crossed our tv screen for the last time and I let the end credits play in full.

They shushed me after I attempted to speak in the two minutes after the credits ended, and it was so quiet for the next ten minutes I thought I broke them…

Their reactions:

Sister 1: ‘Wh-hat..?’

Sister 2: ‘HE DIDN’T DESERVE TO DIE’ (Mordred😵‍💫)

Sister 3: ‘But Gaius didn’t die?? I didn’t put ‘Arthur dies’ on my theory list…’

Brother: ‘I TOLD YOU SO. But… now I’m a little sad :(‘

Afterwards, I promised I’d let them all loose to look up any ‘spoilers’ for the show they wanted. (We have an unofficial rule that whenever we’re watching anything for the time, we can’t look up anything related for fear of spoilers. And I’m a very strict drill sergeant about this 🫡)

But they weren’t very interested…

Our Christmas morning was noticeably sadder. And I wondered again how families in 2012 had coped when their kids had struggled through the unfairness of the finale and still had to open presents the next morning… a mystery really…

They spent the whole. day. watching edits and playing sad music in the living room (to which my parents were very confused) and coming up to me to either rant or fight about the finale haha

Now my sister (the piano playing one) is learning how to play ‘Solas’ by Jamie Duffy on the piano bc she says it reminds her of Diamond of the day and she’s been very determined! All break, she’s been getting up to play ‘Solas’ and ‘Bond of Sacrifice’ and ‘The Love Theme’ and I’m proud of her, for getting this far and only a little concerned

- I think the kids are gonna be alright? lmao

They’ve made plans for fanart and fanfics and alternative endings and I think I’ve fully recruited them into the immoral fandom (if not happily) although I’m sure they’ll recover soon enough to join us in bittersweet reminiscence next year :)

oh! forgot to add one last thing

after rewatching ‘A Dragon’s Call’ last night my brother had one thing to say. “Arthur says ‘there’s something about you Merlin’ …but that something was that he would die in Merlin’s arms…” LMAO I almost died on the spot but I’m glad to see they’ve inherited the fandom’s morbid (or Mordred ;) sense of humor

My funny little OCs for Champion (and also a canon character I pulled to make the antagonist). Say hi to the Third Division Scars!

Ebiwara is an actual Scar that you see for like...half a second in the World Domination Arc and, sure, the wiki says that he is a dude but it's my world here and I decided I wanted to have someone who uses they/them. (Also he doesn't have any kind of canon specialty so I made one up lol. You can see me lifting from ATLA here.) Plus I realized halfway through that Ebiwara's Third has one (1) man and that was funny to me lmao. "I don't care about Ishiguro's little den of perverts and freaks!" They say, unaware of the irony.

Tsūren was the first I developed and, as a pattern you'll see going on with all the Third, I kinda patched together her name. Hers is a combo of "pleasure" and "pain" because she's a mean fucking bitch and also her aura is bruising and raw meat. Her specialty (cut off the page) is telekinesis used as restraints and to pull limbs past the breaking point. She likes causing pain. She looks cheery and sweet, sure, but she isn't and that's the point lol.

Seiteki was the second (alongside Zenkishi) because I thought "what if someone could use their aura like a taser?" and then i spelled it wrong on the page. She's fun coz she's a little punk and she likes getting into fights. Hence her hand-to-hand combat style and her frustration when someone isn't "fun". Unseen here is that she has dental piercings, a fact that, when I shared it with my friend, got an "eugh". Her name is a combination of "energy" and "accurate".

Zenkishi (once referred to as a "slenderman looking ass") was a little more of a joke than the rest of the Third. Because he wore the mask and suit, I decided he was just so boring and plain to look at that the suit/mask combo was an attempt to stand out among his peers. It didn't work because he's just...there a lot of the times, but it's a funny attempt. My friend is the one who called him a "D-list terrorist" lmao. His whole deal is "what if Mukai's skill but instead of puppets it's people" and then I made his aura beige lmao. His name is "former" and "dirt".

Kosa is the one whose design I plan on reusing coz I like her whole vibe (her vibe being gaslight girlboss). Her power was to kinda mirror Muto from the Seventh Division as the psychic who manipulates people into joining them. But while Muto has his illusions, Kosa has something more insidious: she can change one memory you have of a single moment, influencing your emotions at the time to change how you feel at the present. That's why her aura is the impossible colors one (stygian blue, hyper orange, magenta). She's unassuming until you get caught by her. Her name is "grit/sand" and "liar"
