alrighty, chiyo's inexperience -- let's get into it a lil more! i'm gonna try to do this in bullet points to stop myself from rambling :' )

if we're being so honest and realistic, chiyo's stamina will suck at first depending on the verse. in her main verse, that girl doesn't exercise; in her arcane verse, she does. her stamina will vary, but something you should know!! is chiyo is definitely an overachiever and stubborn as hell, so if she notices that her partner's energy lasts longer than her, she's going to seek ways to improve herself and/or push through any fatigue. she'll feel good anyway, so if they don't mind doing a little extra work... have at it, she says asdefg

during her first time, she's going to be insanely nervous. chiyo is well-read on sex, has a general idea of how things should go and how to make someone feel good, but theory is different from practice. it doesn't matter how much bravado chiyo can usually manage. she's going to have a shyer demeanor and ask a lot of questions if she's placed in the driver's seat and will greatly appreciate honesty. don't tell her something feels good if it doesn't!!

i do think she'll be good at kissing even without much experience bc it's hard for her to be caught up in her own anxieties with someone's lips on hers. she's a quick learner and observant and eager. still, there's gonna be moments when you might have to direct her -- like she's not putting her tongue in your mouth without a demonstration asdf the concept has always sounded intimidating to her.

going back to her nervousness, i do think part of it stems from exposing her body to another person. that's pretty normal tbh, but it's also like... chiyo has struggled with her self esteem for a long time. that bleeds into her appearance a bit. she doesn't consider herself beautiful -- cute, perhaps -- and will stress whether her partner will like what they see. she's not the smallest, but her proportions may still be considered petite. if it's her main verse or a similar setting, she has a bit of pudge and everywhere you touch is soft. will they be into that?

they better be!! please praise her. she'll get flustered and might even tell you to shut up, but compliment her and tell her when she's made you feel good. feed her ego a bit ( as long as it's not a lie ). be patient and hold her hand -- literally, if she needs it. and just?? communicate!! chiyo doesn't like to sit in uncertainty, and she doesn't like to guess. be kind, but be honest, too. that's important to her always, but especially during your first time with her.

ok but seriously, thank you all so much for all the support. i never really. expected to make it this far? like, ever?? i’ve mentioned it a few times on here, but i’ve been a lurker for the past… 2 years, i think? and even before that, i never gained much traction outside of a couple posts. so this has been. very new to me!! in a nice way!! it’s weird to feel like an actual member of a community!! that people know about!

the idea of finally coming back to social media was Daunting (i literally got stress hives writing my first post lol) and the warm reception really. meant a lot?? i don’t think i would’ve ever gotten the courage to come back if i hadn’t been encouraged to by the people over at the isat discord!!

the fact that people actually care about my art still doesn’t feel real?? seeing people take inspiration from my art is just. surreal. just. auagssh. thank you all so so much for everything, i really do appreciate it!!! i’m really glad to be in this community. sorry if this all sounds sappy and long winded i’ve just got a lot of emotions about this whole thing!!

One thing that I find ironic about Taash's story is that their story is about finding out they're non-binary, yet when it comes to their culture we're going to force them to choose a binary choice of culture.

There should be an option that Rook will encourage Taash to embrace both bc why not? For example I'm Filipino-Chinese, just bc I was born and raised here in the Philippines doesn't mean I'll abandon my Chinese side and only embrace one culture. That scene doesn't feel natural to me.

More Lucanis rambles because I’m still thinking about it and got nothing better to do :P

I am not here to tell anyone how to feel but putting words into peoples mouths who criticize the Lucanis romance (or Lucanis in general) for being unsatisfactory by saying;

“You don’t know what a slow burn is/ it’s because you expected zevran / you don’t get it he’s traumatized/ you just wanted something spicy and didn’t get it so now you’re mad” etc.

Is completely disregarding the fact that his lack of reactions and lack of content actually led people to believe he is bugged. Most DA fans didn’t expect spice or steam or whatever but they did expect an effective story, one they didn’t get.

This is at the end of the day a visual storytelling medium and implication will only get you so far, if i have to start thinking up entire plotlines in my head to make sense of the story or relationship progression then they failed at good storytelling. If i have to write paragraphs of explanations that the game doesn’t even remotely touch on then that isn’t a slow burn, it’s just a lack of content and poor pacing.

If he is traumatized and reluctant because of it you have to give me a scene where i can actually read that. If he is awkward and doesn’t know how to react to flirting you have to exaggerate to an extent for people to tell. If there is longing and angst give me banter that reflects it.

A romance in a game should give me some kind of deeper personal insight into a character and if i have to do the writers job and in my head think up those insights then the actual romance is mostly moot. I’m not saying give me all the details i’m saying at the very least give me a jumping point, some info buried in the game i won’t get otherwise. His romance fails at this.

Mary Kirby was fired yes and it’s awful what happened but unfortunately the product still remains and it leaves a lot to be desired for a big amount of people. When players are straight up going back on saves to romance someone else it’s a real problem. For me, it soured my first playthrough, especially later when i saw how Davrin and Emmrich had content, convos, specific romance outings and at the bare minimum actually had a noticeable reaction to flirting dialogue.

Again I’m not telling anyone how to feel, if it works for you that’s awesome, but to disregard his obvious lack of content by calling other fans basically stupid is incredibly disingenuous.

I love his character, loved it since The Wigmakers Job and he is still my favorite after my first playthrough. I think the beginning of his romance was very promising and the end is great but everything else is missing I’m sorry. His romance was not well executed and i honestly don’t think his character really was either. (But i won’t vent about that right now)

I know what a slow burn is, i was not expecting Zevran, i did not want a steamy romance. I wanted a well executed story and i didn’t get one. I am critical because i think it could’ve been great, i still love the game and i am not shitting on it, his character or other fans i just hate wasted potential.

i love seeing out of context posts about long-running stories with deep lore because it's always shit like "MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!! i can't believe that the metallic athenaeum's envoy actually used never-ending dance of the 57th universe on rionne as if she's not LITERALLY the incarnate of august?!?!" it's like buddy boy thank you for the spoiler tag but all of those words are incomprehensible without at least 5 years of foreshadowed knowledge, 7 different fan theories, and 21 wiki entries
