[this is kind of a messy ramble, sorry about that]

Demon Twins AU, except Danny is loyal to the League.

The League of Assassins is a “cult” for a reason. They know what they’re doing. Ra’s has been around for a very long time; he’s seen every trick in the book and then some.

So when his daughter Talia gave him two, near-identical twin grandsons, he had already planned out their lives by the time the sun had set on their first day living. He knew the plans weren’t perfect. Nothing ever went exactly how he wanted it to. But that was the joy of being absolutely fucking ancient. Ra’s adapted better than anyone. If something went wrong, Ra’s will simply work around the issue and live to see another day.

So the boys were raised as he wished. Ruthless, with sharp blades and even sharper wit. They matched each other in every way, blow for blow. Neither won more than the other, and Ra’s encouraged the competition between the twins. Eventually, the battle for title of Heir came, and Damian won that particular match.

Danny was fine with this. Thrilled, even, for his brother to earn the title of Heir. The boys were very close, and worked well to take down targets twice their size. Ra’s approved this, and granted Danny title of Shadow. He was to be Damian’s eternal shadow, a guard. Both Talia and the boys were pleased with this.

But then came the time for the boys to learn how to live without each other. They’d gotten too used to someone guarding their back. Too complacent and too confident in their roles. Ra’s knew it would happen, and so sent Danny off at a very young age to live with some sleeper agents in America.

The Fentons.

Damian would stay here, with Talia, to learn how to be the perfect Heir. He needed to learn how to fight without the assistance of his brother.

Danny would go to Amity Park, and be fostered by the Fentons. He needed to put his skills to practical use and learn how to live without constant orders.

This was their Test.

Damian did quite well, for a while. Until Talia sent him off to his birth father, The Bat. Reports on his behavior declined in quality after that, and Ra’s couldn’t help but feel dissatisfaction with how the Heir had been corrupted.

Danny’s reports were always immaculate, however. His mask never slipped, and he’d worked himself into the hearts of the townspeople. The sleeper agents, Jack and Maddie, had a daughter who was quite enthusiastic about the properties of the mind, and accept Ra’s instructions to teach Danny with ease. It was the ideal situation.

In Ra’s eyes, Danny was thriving. Damian was not.

And then Ra’s died. The League was in shambles. Damian was at peace with his family, away from the cult he grew up in. He assumed Danny had defected years ago, since their mother stopped giving him reports about his twin.

Then Danny showed up at the Wayne’s doorstep, decked out in full League attire, angry and hostile.

“Tell me, dear brother,” he spat. “Why did you not inform me that Grandfather had died? I had to find out through his spirit when it came to visit from the afterlife!”

Damian didn’t know what to say.

Danny would like everyone to know it was a complete accident. Look, normally he was really good at not altering the timeline! He was! 

But the dude was definitely not in the right Time, and he had to get his trust which took so long, like damn he thought he had anxiety. Seriously though, kevlar in the 1700s? Yeah that wasn’t right, and Peepaw always complained about the messes that the speedsters caused, so he was trying to prevent a mess by tugging the dude away and helping him out. 

Falling in love maybe a little, was not in the plan. But honestly the man had a worse sense of self preservation than he did as a teen and was also straight up adorable, in a wet cat  who could kill you sort of way. 

So maybe he helped the dude grab a child that was going to be drowned. It wasn’t like anyone else saw them! Even if similar situations might’ve happened a few different times. 

Still, no one saw them! 

So why is there now a small cult who worships the Shadowed one and Radiant one, aka his companion (who would not give his name save for B, which, fair, probably didn’t want to accidentally wreck the timeline either) and well, him?! At least they worship them as guardians of children, but uh. Should he maybe, perhaps, fix this…?

This year's cards follow the same format as last year: there is only one card design, this time featuring artwork from your's truly! The cards are still customizable to any Winter Holiday of your choosing, but you'll have to wait for your card to arrive in order to customize it (the method takes cues from the Portal game's sense of humor, and is very much on-brand).

This year is PHSI's 6th year! I'm so grateful to everyone who has participated over the years, whether you've reblogged and shared, requested cards, helped with artwork, or helped in other ways. You all are so amazing! Thanks for volunteering your time, talents, and support to help make PHSI a special fandom tradition!

It's that easy! Card Requests are now open, and close on December 20th in order to give me enough time to make and send all the cards before the end of the year. Please submit sooner rather than later so I have time to finish them all!

Also, please don’t be afraid to request a physical card if you don’t live in the US! The card service I use says they ship worldwide and, while it might take a bit longer for you to receive your card depending on what country you live in, the cards will get mailed to whatever address you provide, domestic or foreign. Last year I mailed/emailed a total of 111 cards to the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Brazil, Romania, Poland, Australia, Germany, India, Japan, and New Zealand!

I’m glad to be a part of the Portal Fandom and hope to bring a smile to others in the Fandom this year, just as in years past! Designing and emailing Holiday Cards takes time and effort, and sending physical cards is expensive. PHSI has an eCard option! All you need to provide is a name for me to call you by and an email address to receive your card!

Worried about requesting a card because you don’t live in the US?

PHSI mails to any address provided, whether domestic or foreign! However, please wait patiently for your card, due to the current global rate of shipping.

Worried that you can’t give $4 to cover the cost of your card or someone else’s?

Requesting a card from PHSI has been and will always be FREE! However, giving $4 to the initiative helps me pay for the printing service and postage to mail physical cards. I gratefully appreciate any contributions received, even if it’s just a comment saying thanks!

Worried because you don’t know how to support the artist of the card you received?

The artist’s social media is listed on the back of every card featuring their artwork. Look them up, commission them, reblog their art, and support them however you can!

Worried because you haven’t received your card yet?

Double check your email inbox and junk folders. I send everyone an email that either confirms your Holiday Card has shipped or includes your eCard! Physical cards take 1-2 weeks to arrive. If your physical card fails to show up after the first week of January, please reach out to me and I’ll send you a replacement eCard!

Linked Universe Au where everything is the same but Spirit never joined them cause he was too hyperfocused on fixing his train to notice the ominous portal opening right next to him and when he did turn around the portal was already gone

Linked universe au where everything is the same but Chain (my link oc) never joins cause he tried going through the portal but it wouldn't let Key (zelda oc) through and since key&chain are chained he can't not cross without her, so the portal just ends up spitting him out after 2 hours of trying to cross without success

Portals

A portal is a doorway, a gateway from one place to another. It's a location where energy, matter, people, and spirits can transfer between one side and another. It's a crack in the veil, a place with a large funnel of energy coming in. Portals are openings in the Universe through which energy and information flow.

Types of Energy/Information That Comes Through A Portal:

• Hopes and desires of the collective unconscious

• Fears of the collective unconscious

• Revelations

• Divine energy

• Energy from the spirit world (or elsewhere)

• Spirits of all kinds

Portals are points with high currents, spiritual, and energetic activity. An individual, house, or location in the physical world containing this singular point of energy flow can often feel as though energy is drawing, swirling, or magnified in the space.

People who live near or in energy portals tend to feel more energetic and productive than others. They also tend to get a lot of creative work done. Portals are often great centers for the arts, for this reason. They are sometimes geographic, but they can also be created.

How Portals Can Be Created

Usually a transformative precipitator event causes energy to suddenly flow in a funnel shape. With a precipitator event, a large amount of energy moves or has rushed through space. A portal can ve created from that swift moving energy.

It happens in place-time, and it also occurs in space-time. Have you ever experienced a dramatic change in your life, where time seems to speed up? Occasionally, a portal opens within a place or a single beings energy field during these moments of sudden change.

Portals can exist anytime you have a dense layer, adjacent to a more quickly moving spiritual layer, and a barrier between them breaks away. Because of this, portals can exist in both physical locations and physical bodies.

Things That Can Open A Portal:

• Large geologic events

• Large atmospheric events

• Mass transition events

• Emotional events

They Can Exist In Natural Places Such As:

• Canyons

• Mountains

• Mesas

• Caves

• Lakes

• Other geologic locations/formations no matter how ancient

These are often called vortices or vortexes, places where energy from across the veil can come in and leave the physical world naturally, and exist in places with high geologic activity.

How A Property Becomes A Portal

If a cataclysmic event happened on a property, usually quite a deal of energy was expended during that event. As that energy is released, it may be translated to the geology, plants, and animals in the area, who all encode information as they receive feedback about their environment. Over time, these creatures' interpretation of the event can magnify, along with yours, and create a self-generating energy center. As long as the area goes undisturbed, this energy center has time to strengthen and grow. The more stories told about the area, the more a certain idea is reinforced in that spot, the more the energy grows. This is why lore locations can often be easily identified by energy sensors, dowsers, and land readers.

Once a portal has been opened, you can block it off, close your eyes, and walk away from it. But it typically doesn't go away and resisting it can sometimes make it more of a bother than anything else. Portals are more naturally worked with and tapped into than gotten rid of. If you had a geothermal pool near your house that generated lots of heat and was safe to use, would it be better to bask in it, or pretend it didn't exist? Some highly charged areas can be incredibly healing.

People Can Also Become Portals

Have you ever found yourself next to a high energy source? How did it feel at first? Did it leavr you feeling different than before? People who are portals are also known as energy generators in this lifetime. If you have had a sudden, soul-level, transformative event, your spirit is broken free from prior perceptions and limitations. When this happens a portal can be created within you, connecting you directly to spirit.

Self-Portal Creating Events Include:

• The birth of a child

• The death of a loved one

• A near-death experience

• A major breakup or divorce

• A major change in physical health

• A spiritual awakening event

Whenever the above events happen, a large amount of transformational energy flows through us. When that happens, your energy body is then open for other energies to flow through, making it easier for you to be a conduit for any energy around.

When you step into and acknowledge your body's portal, this is sometimes called 'stepping into your power', 'stepping into the light', or simply, spiritual ascension. It can seem like a rush of awareness and energy at first, or like a fast-moving stream of energy. Portals represent a lot of energy flowing into one spot at a time.

When properly understood, the energy of any portal can be tapped into and utilized for raising one's level of consciousness, communing with spirit, and accessing esoteric wisdom. Take the time to discover the portals near you and tap into their power to improve your workings.
