Spire! Another cat from Tigerheart's shadow. He belongs to the group of city cats that are introduced by Dovewing as the guardian cats, and are referred to as such by Tigerheart and Dovewing the whole book alone until Fierce calls the group such after establishing their right to territory the way Tigerheart taught her at the end. Spire is an old wise member of the group, not exactly a leader but clearly among the most knowledgeable and respected in the group. He has a skill in drawing pictures with his paws, and has a lot of daytime visions that make most cats think he's detached from reality especially if they've just met him. He saw Dovewing and Tigerheart coming to the city cats in a vision, and saw himself leaving with them in a vision. He both sees how he will die protecting a kit in a vision and the river in which they must cross where it will happen, but doesn't communicate that well to the group before it happens, so that when they cross a drawbridge that starts to raise for a boat to pass the cats are unprepared and Pouncekit starts to slip from the edge. Spire leaps into the gap and saves the kit, but is unable to save himself, falling to his death in the water below. Tigerheart is so moved by the sacrifice that he re-names Spire to Spiresight in an impromptu ceremony on their return journey.

Spiresight is connected to Shadowpaw in the next arc, appearing to him a few times as an earthly spirit. This is a little confusing because he had previously appeared to Tigerheart in Starclan to help convince him to gain his nine lives to lead Shadowclan, and so had successfully ascended before the broken code begins. This raises the question of how if starclan was cut off from the living cats this city cat was capable of reaching the living world, but maybe it has to do with the canonical multiple resting places for spirits in the warriors books? In the same way the Tribe of Endless hunting is separate from Starclan maybe there is a city guardian cat spirit residence that he visited for a back door to the living world IDK. Regardless, he is the cat that helps Shadowpaw stay alive when the impostor tries to kill him for knowing his secret, and then becomes part of the 'overshadowed' army that Ashfur controls in the Dark Forest. He returns to Starclan at the end of the arc.

And once again, the Drow Secret Satan 2024 is upon us! Seventeenth Secret Satan event, and seventh drow-themed one.

The DSS2024 is a Secret Santa-like art trading event with a TTRPG topic. This one is themed around drow, dark elves (in all their flavours), and other underground / Underdark ancestries (like duergar, deep gnomes, etc). We also allow other flavours of edgy elves, like shadar-kai and such. It isn't limited just to DnD or Pathfinder- Any setting that has anything fitting the bill is good to go!

To enter, fill this form! It also all has the rules for the event. Inscriptions will be open until 29 of December, and mails will be sent on 30 of December. Pictures will be due for 24 of January.

It's also a bit emotional for me to run this one, since next year we will change the line up and we won't have a drow-only event any longer. Yes, Littlefoot's name is a bit insensitive, I think the other dragonets would try to nickname him because Littlefoot doesn't particularly like his name either.

(I was going to name him Camel before realizing that name was already taken in the wof-verse, so now I'm stuck. Name suggestions would be amazing)

A sandwing hatched with a crippled leg, his mother named him that not out of ill-will but in a lighthearted way. His mother did not know it would haunt him for his entire dragonet-hood.

Littlefoot helps his father as a traveling merchant, making and selling dragon prosthetics to those who need them. Little was sent to Jade Mountain in hopes of a higher education.

Littlefoot is quick-witted and can play anything off as a joke, sometimes to other's dismay. He can persevere through anything without showing negative emotions and be a beam of encouragement for those who need it. He can be a dragon-pleaser, and will always help, even if he's exhausted.

Spire

A Skywing raised in solitude under her conspiracy-obsessed parents, who brainwashed her at a very early age. They are strictly against any form of monarchy and believe the world used to be one large continent full of scavengers. They idolize scavengers, believing them to be a superior intellect that dragons are unaware of.

Spire was sent to Jade Mountain while her parents went on an expedition to try and find the Lost City of Night.

Spire is very outspoken about her beliefs and will debate anyone who disagrees. She is competitive and brutally honest, hurting other dragons' feelings unintentionally through personal questions. Spire has an unquenchable curiosity and short temper. She has underlying feelings of constant paranoia.

Tower: An aelfir who's fixated on ascending, manipulated many followers of other gods to worship her so that she could steal their divine power in one fell swoop and hopefully ascend into her godly form, Apotheosis. Witch: A blood-witch, Witch was once a regular drow (who dated Oppy when they were both teens), but got betrayed and backstabbed so badly that she ended up turning to the raw and gory power of the Heart to try and save her. Kanden & Samus: Genetic soup supersoldiers made as such by reclusive alien groups. Power seekers trying to become stronger still to achieve their respective goals.

Spire & Samus: Lonely as fuck. Friend-shaped and generally decent, but still dangerous and ruthless when forced to be.

Trace & Samus: Significant ties to an important precursor race. (If my Kriken/Alimbics theory has any merit, anyway.)

Weavel & Samus: Independent hunters that regardless maintain a connection to their faction of origin. Have a deep grudge against a major figure from the opposite faction.

Noxus & Samus: Driven by a moral code, and a desire to do good by preventing others from doing harm.

Sylux & Samus: Mysterious cryptids to most, (tragic backstories maybe?), using tech far more advanced than typical of the setting. Grudge against a major faction, and deadly and terrifying to the members of that faction. Metroid hatchling companion.

With the possible exception of Trace, I wonder if making the other Hunters externalizations of different facets of Samus's character taken to their logical extremes, was done on purpose. Even if it's not quite as direct and thematically poignant a parallel as the SA-X and arguably Dark Samus are to different eras of Samus's life, (though hopefully Sylux will wind up at that level when all is said and done) it's still an interesting decision that more could have been done with, and I hope more is done with at some point.
