Hi I need people to remember scoliosis isn't the only back issue that exists
I've had multiple instances where I talked about my back issue, stating a defect in my spine causes me chronic pain, and people respond with "so do you have a form of scoliosis?"
NO. not only does this show how little people understand scoliosis but that scoliosis being the first thing to come to mind means other back problems and spine conditions are not known well enough and we need to fix that.
Start talking about your conditions, talk about your back problems, explain what you experience and listen when people talk about theirs.
Don't let the world continue to be ignorant and assume there's only one condition for you to have, don't let peoples ignorance out you in a box, that happens way too often and the only way we can solve and prevent it is if we don't stop talking about it.
Bringing awareness to things is the only way we can stop having to deal with situations like this where people are ignorant and make assumptions about our bodies based on our age, appearance and their limited knowledge.
And for the able bodied folk, don't talk over us, listen and learn and help us spread awareness. PLEASE

might be just me being paranoid or a series of coincidences but it seems like the entire left side of my body is fucked up.
occipital neuralgia? almost exclusively runs up the left side of my head
left eye more nearsighted than right
TMJ seems like it might be worse on the left side (difficult to tell)
i have overarching neck and back pain, but left shoulder blade is more frequently in pain than right
left hip some sort of fucked up, probably related to my left L5 vertebrae being fused to my pelvis
all this to say, maybe i just tend to put more pressure on the left side of my body?? idk if one of these things instigated the rest or if it's all just happenstance, but it's fuckin weird and also im so tired of being in pain.

Serious question if anyone could answer.
My doctor said that my mri “was not concerning” since after the age of 20 multiple bulging disks (some with mild nerve compression) is something normal to see?
i just don’t particularly know how this can be true? Like, I understand she doesn’t want to give me spine injections since she thinks i’m at the lowest pain that i’ll be in and she doesn’t want to be treating “base level pain” that could be caused by my other conditions. I want to make clear that I am not upset or confused about the pain management as it made sense.
I am confused on how five bulging disks throughout the 2/3 of my back that the did an MRI on could be “normal for my age” as I am 21.
For reference 4 of my disks say this: Broad based disc bulge in combination with facet arthropathy results in bilateral mild neuroforaminal
and one of my disks say this: Broad based disc bulge is noted. There is mild associated narrowing central canal. There is no remarkable neuroforaminal narrowing.
