“Megumi!” You call your son in the living room, who’s sitting next to his father, Toji, on the couch watching the news. “Could you go grab your sister and tell her to put her studying on hold? Dinner’s almost done.”
“Yeah, no problem,” Megumi says as he rises to his feet, putting his headphones around his neck and pulling his phone out of his hoodie pocket. “Oh, uh, Mom?”
“Hm?”
“Can Itadori spend the night after dinner?” He then looks over at Toji with a small scowl. “After Dad hides all of his assassin stuff?”
“Hey, watch it,” Toji says.
You nod with a light smile. You loved having Yuuji Itadori over. He was a bright kid, and besides, he made Megumi relaxed and happy. “Of course. Go prepare the guest bed, yeah?”
Megumi departs with a nod, then heads upstairs. From the living room, you hear Toji whistle. “Wow. Baby, looks like Spider-Man stopped that bank robbery.”
You look up from the dishes in the kitchen, then hum in delight when you catch what’s on the screen. It looked like small clips from the internet as the reporter gave details. The masked hero, wearing blue and red, swings, fights, and rescues hostages swiftly. “Incredible,” you say, then walk over to hand your husband a list of groceries. “Could you head to the store and grab these? I want to make sure that we have enough food for breakfast in the morning now that Yuuji will be staying the night.”
Toji looks around to make sure that Megumi and Tsumiki aren’t present, then lowers his voice to a whisper. “Actually, I wanted to talk to you about Yuuji.”
“Megumi has feelings for him. Yeah, I know.”
“No- Not that. Amazing for them, and I think they’re adorable together, but,” Toji points over at the TV. “I think he’s Spider-Man.”
You blink, then burst into laughter as you head back into the kitchen. “Toji, what? Don’t be ridiculous. He’s only fifteen and very busy. You know how often he studies with Megumi.”
“I’m serious,” he says as he follows you. “Think about it. Do you know how often Yuuji shows up with bruises or scratches?”
You begin arranging plates on the dining room table. “Just like our son, the kid’s a fighter. I mean, his uncle Sukuna was a huge fighter before he passed away. Plus, he spends a lot of time with Satoru Gojo, and we know how he is. Also, doesn’t he have an older brother? Brothers fight.”
“True, but just walk with me for a second.” You sigh and look up to see Toji waving his hands animatedly as he explained. “Do you remember when we all went to the parade on New Years together, and that giant robot appeared?”
“Yes, it was all everyone could talk about for days.”
“Uh-huh.” He then points at you. “Do you also remember how Yuuji was gone when Spider-Man appeared at the scene?”
You stare at him blankly. “...Toji, he went to the bathroom before everything happened,” you remind him. “I’m certain that he got lost in the crowd when everyone started running.”
Toji groans. “You don’t believe me. Baby, I’m telling you—He’s Spider-Man. I can’t prove it now, but I will eventually.”
You sigh again and cross your arms. “Okay, so, let’s say he was. What would you do?”
“Well, I mean…” Toji mutters, then sheepishly rubs the back of his head as he quietly chuckles. “I dunno, give him a high-five? Worry about Megumi?”
“Trust me, Toji. The only people with secret identities here are you and I.” You reach over and grab a stack of napkins. “By the way, Megumi had a point earlier. Be more careful about where you’re leaving weapons. One of Tsumiki’s friends nearly saw one not too long ago.”
He winces. “Sorry.”
“You’re fine.” You push to your tip toes and gently kiss him. “No job tonight, right? I know I don’t have one.”
“Nope. Once I get those groceries, I’m all free.” He grabs the list from you, then reaches towards you to lovingly push a loose strand of hair away from your face. “I’ll be back soon.” When he leaves through the back door, the front doorbell rings.
You hear Megumi rush down the stairs. “I got it,” he tells you as he passes you. When the door opens, Yuuji Itadori waves at you with his usual grin. “Hi, Mrs. Fushiguro!”
“Hi, Yuuji. What happened to your face?” You ask. His lip is slightly busted, and there’s a bruise beginning to form on his jaw. Yuuji laughs sheepishly, shoving his hands into the pockets of his yellow hoodie. “Oh, uh, me and Okkotsu fought again. Gojo-sensei had to pull us apart.”
Megumi rolls his eyes. “I swear, you’re always fighting.”
“Aw, come on, Megumi,” Yuuji teases with a smirk as he crosses his arms. “You’re just as bad. I heard about what happened a few days ago.”
Your son’s cheeks dust with pink, and he clears his throat. “Yeah, whatever. You need to get cleaned up before dinner. Come on, there’s a first-aid kit in the bathroom.”
Megumi goes upstairs, and Yuuji follows close behind him. You’re about to tell Yuuji that the flap of his backpack is slightly unzipped, but the words get stuck in your throat when you catch the tiniest hint of the red and blue suit. You only see it for a split-second before Yuuji swings his backpack around, excitedly telling Megumi about a new action figure he wants to get for his birthday.
Your eyes widen. Holy shit.

An Itafushi spiderman socmed au ❤️
In which Yuuji Itadori, newly a sophomore in college who still has not a clue what he wants to do with his life, gets bitten by a radioactive spider and gains new abilities, stats and powers. He's coasting on his raw athletic ability, a full-ride scholarship handed to him despite his less-than-perfect grades, when he realizes he's got way more ahead of him than he'd ever imagined. Including, but not limited to, a newfound crush that also throws him for a loop.
you are reading: Prologue | Part 1 | Part 1.5 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 5.5 | Part 6 | Part 7 (coming soon!)
notes:
Established nobamaki, inuokko, a smidge one-sided itajun :') + other background ships here n there. Non curse au, only some know each other prior! Timestamps do NOT matter (unless specified), nobara and junpei go to a different college from everyone else, and this starts from the VERY beginning (so, no spidey yet). It's a mainly twt-based au bc this is my favorite way to see characters interacting 😋
That should do it! I hope everyone enjoys 🥹
Accounts!
OKAYY everything's set up!! i have learned tumblr formatting ommmmg. I have the first 4 and a half parts or so written already (active over on twt but i find myself over here more lately!) so part 1 should not be far behind this post!

Finding A Way Back To Us
by megummiies Yuji thought that if his heart could make a sound every time his eyes laid on Megumi, it would make the same chiming noise as the gold bells on top of the old, metal door. The faint jingle ringing through his body and the usual door creaking felt like home. Secretly, Yuji imagined and hoped that as they grow old with age, his heartbeat would provide the same homey feeling for Megumi, resting his spiky hair on his chest after a long day of superhero work and swinging around the city was a daydream that had become too frequent in Yuji’s mind. Yap abt yuuji GO GO GO
AHHHH OKAY
so basically, yuuji is a nerd and im also a nerd so we’re always nerdy together. we talk about lore of random children shows. there’s a life-sized lucario plushie i got him for his birthday. we buy each other comic posters. his lockscreen is me in hobie brown’s spidey suit. my lockscreen is him in pavitt prabhakar’s suit from ATSV. we have matching avatars in pokemon games. our starters are always named after each other, as well as our favorite pokémon if we get a chance to catch them. we both cried tears of despair and joy when Ash became the pokémon champion, thus ending his journey. he has videos of me doing the most dancing to the monster high fright song. he explains marvel comic lore to me bc i’m a movie-only junkie. we both are obsessed with spiderman and deadpool.

Y'ALLLL
I think. I think I'm connecting some dots.
Bram wasn't revived, he never actually died, him and Fyodor simply coexist in the same body. Probably something to do with the Knightley vow, it might transcend Abilities themselves to be kept. It might also have something to do with Fyodor's little so called 'act'. It could also be a Spidey sense that instinctively knows that Bram's vow to Aya would be broken, so it forcibly switches him with Fyodor. Something like Sukuna, and Yuuji.
Not completely convincing but better than anything else I can come up with.
did not expect to wake up to leaks this morning.

hey, not a question just wanted to say i absolutely loveddd your lessons with yuuji fics, and say you’re very talented at writing!!! also if you were to do a part 3, it would be interesting to see how yuuji asks her out and confesses again, and their relationship dynamic with sukuna knowing now as well, and everyone else (megumi, nobara, maki, etc.) it would also be very cool to see jealous yuuji, possibly from sukuna? just wanted to give some ideas if you were thinking of doing part 3, but regardless i love your writing style sm💝💝
omg thankyou!! i had been swamped writing for one piece and didn't answer sooner. i really really wanna write a part three but also i have so many more ideas for jjk that i think i should go for them first, and then come back to part three of "teaching some lessons" series!!
so, it might take me some time (what exactly is "some time"? idk. that's between god and me.) but i promise that you'd have more fics to look forward to!! (wink wink spidey-yuuji is such a fun concept, isn't it?)

wait wait wait since ur sick idk if ur up to it but jjk men hcs with a sick s/o 🤒🫣
jjk men & their sick partner !
featuring. gojo satoru, nanami kento, geto suguru, itadori yuuji, megumi fushiguro x reader
warnings. none :)
note. ur a genius anon, ily for giving me this idea >:) and i hope u like this anon <;33
GOJO SATORU. listen, i feel like he panics when you're sick. like he would literally freak out about it and make a big deal about it— he asks you your pain rate, and when it's more than 5, he debates on whether or not he should teleport both you and him to the hospital.
but when you tell him that isn't necessary, he immediately dials shoko and asks her of what to do. and shoko has to explain every single detail to the male while he asks her if she is sure about this, he tells shoko if you feel worse after— he wouldn't hesitate to come for her (obviously joking).
"how are you feeling, sweetcheeks?" gojo asks, sitting down by your bed while you laid there, breathing heavily.
it was a mere fever, and you felt like it was because you overworked yourself. and gojo freaks out when you called him this morning, screaming his heads off about how you were dying (you just have a fever) and immediately teleports to you and tending you.
"not good," gojo puckered out his lips, leaning his chin onto your bed.
"can i do anything? cuddles? kisses?"
"both. but you'll get sick." you chuckled weakly and gojo clicked his tongue at you before rolling his eyes.
"i'll take that risk."
boy— he got sick next week and he threw a temper tantrum about it, but you made it up by taking care of him sooo....
NANAMI KENTO. i feel like nanami knows what to do when you get sick, like— he would know what to do and not panic like gojo did. a light cough? he would give you cough drops. the flu? he would tuck you in bed, giving you medicine, and cooking you porridge. a fever? fret not, he compresses your forehead with a cold towel.
he just knows what to do. hell, i feel like he has the spidey senses whenever you're about to get sick and sometimes he would bring it up.
"are you feeling under the weather?"
"what? no—"
and every time he asks you that— you just accepted your fate and wait for a few days before eventually you feel yourself drop down under the weather. and before that happens, nanami has everything else ready.
"i feel sick."
nanami gets up and he's all like, "i knew it. i could feel it."
you get scared of him and his ability to just sense whenever you're going to get sick sometimes, but at the end of the day— he's the only person who tended to you whenever you fall sick (yuuji comes over to visit you sometimes, and when you get sick, he gets equally worried).
GETO SUGURU. he's such a sweetheart, i feel like the moment he hears your voice change due to a sore throat— he just excuses himself and comes back with medicines and a few treats. he sits you down and feeds you medicine and initially you decline, saying it was a sore throat because you haven't drank enough water.
and geto's just all, "trust me on this one, i just know this isn't because you haven't been drinking water, darling."
turns out he was right, a fever grew on you later on in the day. geto was there to help you though, whenever you call out to him, he's ready to get you anything you want.
a glass of water? he's on it.
cuddles? oh, he's definitely super ready for that one.
kisses? he could give out a hundred for you.
"how are you feeling? does your throat still hurt?" he asks, caressing your cheeks gently and you shook your head, burying your face into his chest.
"no, thanks to you. i love you."
"i love you most."
ITADORI YUUJI. not gonna lie, i feel like he's a bit like gojo. he will freak out. and he thinks you're dying when he comes into your apartment and you're laying on your bed, breathing heavily as if you're grasping onto life.
"y/n? are you dying?!"
obviously not, you just did not have the energy to say it to him. but he came to his senses after a while, the first few minutes was just yuuji grabbing a glass of water for you and then him calling nobara and megumi, asking them for help.
megumi had to be the one to direct him on things, giving you medicine, getting you something to eat like chicken noodle soup or just plain porridge. telling yuuji as long as you eat a little, everything is going to be fine.
yuuji never felt so thankful for him and promises megumi he'd treat him to something after.
"i made this myself, i don't know if it's good, but you should eat something." news flash, it wasn't really...edible (way too salty). but you chuckled at his attempt in making you food, and at the end of the day, you finished the small bowl of porridge he made for you without telling him anything.
yuuji was ecstatic when you finished his porridge, and then coos you to bed. patting your head, lulling you to sleep like a baby, and when you do, he kisses your forehead before leaving a note that he'd be back tonight (he promised).
he disappeared off to give megumi a treat before coming back to you.
MEGUMI FUSHIGURO. like i said before, i feel like megumi just knows what to do. i feel like he has everything ready in a first aid box incase something happens, and when it happens he just whips the first aid box.
so when it started out as severe dry coughs, megumi gave you loads of water to drink and cough drops routinely. before it turned into heavy flu, and you were laying on the bed with a runny nose and at that moment the world seemed to be spinning.
"gumi, i don't feel good."
megumi who had been by your side for a few days now glances at you and nodded his head, "do you need anything? water? food?"
"love and attention. from you," you joked.
megumi rolls his eyes, wondering that even at times like this, you still had the power to joke about something (not that he was angry, he finds it pretty respectable because not everyone could do that), "no."
"please? just hold me, five minutes." you mumble, reaching out to him. and he obliged, pulling you in his arms, "i was joking gumi, you'll get sick..." you tried to pry yourself off his hold.
but he doesn't let you go.
"i don't care. just stay still. five minutes, right?"
you chuckled and slept in his arms after, what started initially as five minutes turned out to be the whole night.
(oh, and megumi ended up with a sever cough after, but he doesn't care, really, as long as it's you who will be taking care of him).

masterlist + spidey!yuji fic art
When Yuji Itadori was a little boy, he had a crush on this girl.
This girl loved to wear dresses, but also looked good in tight jeans. This girl loved to show her smile, but would glare at anyone that pissed her off. This girl loved to socialize, but also preferred to be in her personal space. She was sweet, smart, intuitive, and most of all, she stood up for him when he was getting bullied for being the new kid in school. She was both gentle and tough. She was both playful and serious. She was both shy and confident. The yin-yang in her personality was not to an extent that made her weird, but it actually made her a lot more interesting and appealing in his eyes. How could someone be so adorable and intimidating at the same time? She knew how to control her emotions, she knew how to set her boundaries, and she absolutely knew just how easy it was to make Yuji’s heart go crazy.
But when he turned sixteen, many things changed.
How exactly? Okay, okay, let’s take a quick rewind of what happened eight years ago: Itadori had to leave town for a while after he lost his parents in a car crash, spent most of his youth in a rural prefecture with his grandfather, gained a humble neighbor as his best friend, learned that he had an interest with anything science, and now he was back in Tokyo as a broke high school boy living in a rundown apartment with his aunt. As much as he would love to narrate why he had to return to this metropolitan city, he didn’t exactly wish to touch the recent memories he had of his grandfather’s demise. The best way to describe his life wasn’t actually a rollercoaster, no. It was more of a loading page that was already on 99%, but thanks to certain issues, he had to restart back to 0%.
It was difficult for him to settle back into the very city he once left as a young child, seeing as everything just didn’t seem the same as how it was eight years ago. He had no friends, not even acquaintances that knew him enough to be his friend. There was no sense of familiarity that reminded him of his childhood even though Tokyo was his original home sweet home. And yet, despite the unwelcoming atmosphere that greeted him on his homecoming, he was thankful to know that there were some things that didn't really change after all. For starters, one of those things was his silly, hopeless crush on you.
Well, it wasn’t like he would have a chance or anything, but it was quite funny that his heart still doubled a beat when he caught sight of you in the hallways. Eight long years, he thought. Who knew that the girl he liked still went to the same school? You probably wouldn’t recognize him anymore. And you didn’t need to because you already had many friends gathering around you—people who were more worthy of your time and a group where you could fit in perfectly. There was no need for Yuji Itadori to join the picture. No need for a loser like him to insert himself in your world. Besides, you wouldn’t even take a second glance at him since he was a complete stranger to you now.
“Yuji? Is that you?”
Fuck. Maybe he was wrong.
“Oh, hey.” He let out an awkward laugh and adjusted his glasses, shutting his locker door as he faced you. “What’s up?”
Your chuckle was still the most angelic sound he had ever heard. “What do you mean ‘what’s up’? I can’t believe it’s really you,” you enthused, eyeing him like he was some kind of an alien. He would say you were practically speechless, but since you were still able to speak, then perhaps that wasn’t the right word. “I just… I haven’t seen you in, like, ten years—”
“Eight,” he corrected and afterwards placed a hand in his pocket in an attempt to look cool, “Some things happened and I had to leave town for some time. I’m really surprised that you still remember me.”
Was it him or did your eyes glimmer just now? “Of course, I do. I don’t forget people easily, especially you. I was really sad when you left.”
No, no, it must be his imagination. You couldn’t have liked him the same way he did you, right? “Well, uh… you look really gorgeous,” he complimented, watching how the corner of your lips curled upwards, “I mean, you know, like… Um, you look nice. Your face—”
“Who the hell is this punk?”
It wasn’t really the antagonism that surprised Yuji. It was how the jerk with tribal tattoos placed a protective arm around your shoulder, mocking him with a critical squint. He surely felt small from the guy’s presence, but before Yuji could introduce himself, you already took the initiative to say his name. “This is Yuji Itadori,” you uttered his name with such familiarity, “He’s my childhood friend, Sukuna. Be nice.”
“Nice to meet you,” Yuji still greeted him out of courtesy because it seemed that the guy was going to throw a tantrum if he didn’t. That, and because he looked like an upperclassman. Perhaps a senior?
No friendliness was returned, though. “Next time I see you trying to hit on my girlfriend, it’s your face I’m gonna hit.”
Great. First day of senior year and he already made an enemy.
But you know, Yuji wanted to be lowkey and so he did exactly that. After that day, he tried to just stay in his lane for the next few weeks and didn’t pursue talking to you any more than simple hi’s and hello’s in the hallways, actively avoiding your line of sight whenever he walked past your table in the cafeteria. He would be lying if he didn’t admit how disappointing it was to know that you were dating someone, not to mention an egotistical jerk at that. Because if anything, you deserve someone who would treat you right. Someone who would worship that ground you walked on. Someone who would look you in the eyes and tell you just how lucky they were for having the privilege to be loved by you. It had been eight years, but why was he still stupidly dreaming for a chance to be that ‘someone’ to you?
“Earth to Yuji, are you daydreaming?” Yes. Yes, he was. But with the look on Nobara’s face, he knew he had to cut himself out of trance. “Are you high?”
Megumi scoffed and flicked his forehead. “High from being in love. Snap out of it, idiot.”
“You guys are so mean to me,” he whined, resting his chin on his palm. Lo and behold were Itadori’s new friends. Although he had recently just met them, being in a group project for their physics class allowed him to get to know these two and he was certainly loving the wholesome atmosphere that surrounded them “I’m actually solving the problem in my head.”
Nobara rolled her eyes and took a bite from her burger. “Yeah, right. We already solved it, dumbass,” she huffed, now flipping through the papers, “Okay, how about this: The observation deck of a tall skyscraper is three-hundred and seventy meters above the street. What is the time required for a penny to free fall from the deck to the street below?”
Sorry, Kugisaki. He could easily answer the problem. What he couldn’t answer was how quick it was for him to get distracted every time you entered the room. You were the focal point of his attention, blurring everything else in the background so he could only see you. There was no logical reasoning behind the fluttering in his chest as you walked towards their table in that huge cafeteria, leaving your group of friends just so you could speak a word to Yuji. “H-Hey, Y/N. What brings you here?”
You sent all three of them a smile before looking down at the salmon-haired boy otherwise known as your childhood friend. “Have you been avoiding me because of Sukuna?”
Damn, did you always get straight to the point? He would have stammered for an answer, but thank the heavens for Nobara Kugisaki and her up-front reactions because her groan cut the conversation short. “Uh, hello? Can you see we’re working on something here?”
“Eight point sixty-nine seconds,” you told a clueless Nobara.
“Huh?”
“That’s the time required for a penny to free fall from the deck,” you added. Your clarification then made sense when Megumi calculated the equation and agreed with your answer. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt you guys. I thought you were just having a normal conversation.”
Yuji, who was panicking internally, had to speak up. “No, it’s alright. You didn’t know.”
It was going well until Megumi decided that it was funny to expose his friend. “Itadori’s been daydreaming about you, actually—”
He kicked the raven-haired guy under the table and feigned innocence when he gazed back at you with a smile. “Not true.” He forced a chuckle. “It’s not.”
“Oh, man. So, you’re not daydreaming about me?” You grinned and shook your head playfully. “Anyway, I actually just wanted to invite you guys. There’s a party at my place tonight and it’d be nice if you guys could come.”
His two friends looked at him for an answer, yet all he could do was to rub his nape shyly. Should he say yes? No? Yes? No? Nobara would kill him if he didn’t participate in their meeting after school. “We have this thing after school. Um, we’re going to meet with Nanami-sensei in Oscorp for our research—”
“—which won’t take long,” said Megumi, seemingly pushing his agenda, “We’ll be there at the party.”
You smiled, pleased by the answer. “Great! Guess I’ll see you later, then.” And before Yuji could even process what Megumi just did, you were already facing him again with a hopeful look. “Yuji, just so you know, Sukuna looks tough and all, but he’s actually a coward inside. Don’t worry too much about him.”
Did it seem like he was being a wimp around your boyfriend? Dammit. That was embarrassing to say the least. However, he looked forward to that night because he wasn’t really all that scared about your lover. What he wanted to avoid was getting involved in petty arguments knowing that Aunt Mei would make a fuss if Yuji came home with a bruise on his face. Perhaps all he had to do was keep away from Sukuna’s sight since Itadori was already satisfied at looking at you from afar.
But how could he explain to you that the reason he didn’t get to attend the party later that night was because he was bitten by a radioactive spider that ultimately changed his life?
You could tell something was wrong.
Yuji didn’t go to school for a week straight and you were extremely worried since the last time you spoke to him was when you invited him to the party which, according to his friends, he decided to ditch. As much as you were hurt for expecting him to come, your speck of sulkiness was soon replaced with curiosity when he didn’t show up in school for the following week. He could be grievously sick and you never would have had any idea because you didn’t know where he lived, didn’t know his phone number, and certainly couldn’t find him on social media.
You almost gave up and considered the heartbreaking thought that maybe Yuji Itadori simply decided to leave this city again. He probably had no reason to stay and saying goodbye to you was the least of his concerns. Still, you hoped that he could at least show himself to you for one last time because you were so down in the dumps that you never got the chance to speak to him before he left.
Apparently, that wish was granted when he did attend school again, acting a little strange, but being his normal self nonetheless. The only difference was that he blatantly avoided you this time and it was obvious how he would walk the opposite direction each time you were about to cross paths. He was clearly steering himself away from you and you weren’t sure if you should be offended or hurt, wondering why he was rejecting being anywhere near your presence as if you were a plague.
That cold war went on for a week. And another week. And another week until it turned into a whole month. You just couldn’t bear it anymore. Among the throng of students passing by, you looked around and scanned every face in the school cafeteria just to find the boy you wanted to see the most.
“You guys watched this spider guy on the news last night who beat up a bunch of robbers? He was so cool!”
“You mean Spider-Man? Heck, yeah. Dude, I’d do anything to meet him in person!”
“Babe, what do you think about going to my place tonight?” Sukuna whispered in your ear, displaying his sickening affection to you in a room full of teenagers. “I think it’s about time we spice up our relationship.”
“You wish.” You pushed him off and used your vision to search for a certain pink-haired guy, realizing that he wasn’t sitting together with Megumi and Nobara today.
There was a tug on your arm when you got up and it came from your now irritable boyfriend. “Where you going, huh?”
One of Sukuna’s friends egged on. “She’s probably looking for that dickwat,” said the guy, laughing and high-fiving his annoying friend as if they just made the funniest remark.
You rolled your eyes and left without a say, ignoring your boyfriend’s numerous calls to your name as you went ahead and searched for the guy that you just couldn’t stop thinking about. Luckily enough, you reached bingo when you saw him at his locker, completely oblivious to your unannounced arrival. “Yuji!”
A second. A mere second would have been enough for you to land face flat on the floor as you tripped on your own shoes for rushing over to him, but by some inexplicable force of luck, you were caught by Yuji’s strong grip who wasn’t even looking at you to know that you were about to fall. But he did, and now he was holding your waist tightly, face inches away from yours as your surprised eyes met his. “Nice reflex.”
It took him a few blinks to let you go. “Yeah, I guess.”
You sighed in relief and straightened the crease on your skirt. “Is everything okay?” you asked out of concern. “I haven’t seen you in a while and I thought you left again.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry, I…” Although he faced you, he still couldn’t lock eyes. “I didn’t mean to ditch the party. So many things just happened to me in the past few weeks.”
Reading his body language, you guessed that something was bugging his mind. “If you need to open up about anything that’s burdening you, you can tell me. I can keep a secret.”
And he appreciated that. He didn’t need to say it out loud, but the minute of displaying a grateful smile was all he had to show for you to feel relieved that he was at least okay. However, the next sixty seconds were spent in awkward silence, with Yuuji seemingly debating an internal thought for the most part. You were about to ask him if he wanted to hang out until he beat you to it and blurted out an unexpected admission, “Y/N, I like you.” Both of you froze. “I-I know that’s weird, but I do like you. I’ve liked you since we were kids and I never got to tell you, you know? It sucks that I never had the balls to tell you because you’re out of my league. You’re amazing, you’re… you’re one of a kind. Well, you also have a boyfriend now and I respect that, so I’m just admitting this to you so I can get it off my chest because I’m dealing with a lot of things right now and—”
They said oxytocin decreases anxiety and kissing would be the best form of affection to calm someone down. Maybe that theory was right because when you cupped Yuuji’s cheeks and pressed your lips on his, he was no longer fidgeting nor was he in a state of anxiety. His solicitude was concealed with surprise, eventually melting into the kiss and returning the movements of your lips with equal fervor.
This was your response to his admission. This was you, reciprocating his feelings.
“What the fuck?” Of course, here comes the cliche scene where your boyfriend steps in after catching you in the act, and now pushing your lover off of you. “Son of a bitch, get off my girl!”
You couldn’t even explain the fear that entered your body when Sukuna tried to throw in a punch on Yuji’s face, but was stopped by the unexpected strength of the latter’s grip. He was wrapping his hand on Sukuna’s fists, also surprised by himself when he did the action. “Itadori, be careful!”
“Oops, sorry!” he called out to no one in particular, dodging another punch from Sukuna whose fist now landed on the locker door. Ouch. Even Yuji himself felt bad, but your boyfriend and his pride would never let himself be on the other end of humiliation (despite doing the same thing to the other kids he used to bully), and so he charged after Itadori with a grunt and swung an extensive arm. “Hey, buddy, I’d love to fight you and all, but…” Yuji jumped from one wall to another, making a zigzag just to avoid Sukuna’s raging attacks. “I don’t wanna be in detention!”
Now that a crowd was forming and unwanted attention was being given to all three of you, you decided to get in between to try and stop the scuffle. “Stop it, stop! Sukuna, please.” You pressed your palms flat on his chest. “It’s my fault. I’m the one who kissed him.”
“Get outta my way!” He shoved you to the side with enough force for your head to hit the locker door, but he was only focused on getting revenge on Yuji who continuously hopped around like a bug trying not to get trapped. “Come here, you punk! Fight me!”
“Look, Sukuna. You don’t wanna fight me—”
“Come at me!”
As you winced from the light concussion you sustained, Yuji rushed to you and asked if you were okay while you could see from the back of his head that Sukuna was going to hit him. “Watch out!”
Strangely enough, Itadori didn’t have to turn around when he extended a foot behind him, kicking Sukuna who immediately flew across the hallway. Hoots and laughter echoed through the corridor as students mocked the school’s most popular guy for being completely disgraced by Yuuji’s combat skills. Where did he even learn it from? It looked like he had a sixth sense. “Y/N, are you sure you’re okay? I’m gonna bring you to the clinic.”
“No, I’m fine,” you answered in a hurried tone, “You have to leave. Sukuna’s gonna keep on—”
“Itadori!” Just when the guy was running to land an accurate punch, Yuuji made a backflip and in return, had Sukuna's fist diverted towards the school principal.
Oh, fuck.
Mr. Kimura was not at all pleased as he held his jaw. “In my office, now!”
Yuuji was a battery.
Bad logic, maybe, but the reason he said that was because he was about to present the (+) positive and (-) negative of living two lives. It had been weeks since he learned to embrace this new life as a wall-crawler, webslinger, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and it was safe to say that it wasn’t in his plan to be the guy who saved lives in the first place. Initially, he felt like he was going mad from the huge change in his daily routine thanks to a certain spider that injected its venom on his neck when he sneaked inside one of Oscorp’s labs (which also cost him a whole day of lecture from Nanami-sensei, by the way!). How insane was it that he was just a normal guy one day and he woke up as a hero the next? He could crawl buildings, he could shoot inorganic webs, he had healing abilities, and he had that spider-sense to name a few. It took him some time to adjust and he wasn’t going to utilize the said superhuman abilities until he was placed in a position where an elderly woman needed his help. Donning a red balaclava, a hoodie of the same color, and some blue pants—saving the old woman from being hit by a bus became his debut moment as the savior of the city.
Because he had basically catapulted himself into this pressure of ‘doing the right thing’, he had no choice but to continue using his abilities to stop crimes and help the helpless. He became a superstar overnight because he lived in an era where all it would take was a smartphone and a Twitter post for his spider counterpart to blow up on social media. And what should we learn from the internet? It was the comments. The critics. The anonymous people hiding behind their screens who either liked or disliked Spider-Man. Fine, fame attracted hate and he should probably take note from Hollywood celebrities, so it wasn’t surprising when they first dubbed him as a masked vigilante while claiming that all of his heroic moments were staged.
“Staged?!” he reacted negatively, doing a little throw-and-catch with his basketball as he lay on his bed. “How the hell can I stage those? Are people even thinking?”
Two weeks ago, he saved a construction worker from falling off a skyscraper. Last week, he beat up a bunch of robbers who turned out to be wanted convicts who recently escaped prison. This week, he fought off a hostage taker and prevented him from mass murdering a group of children. Staged? If he wanted to get famous, he would have just gone on Tiktok and did some overrated dance instead of risking innocent people's lives.
“I mean, what’s more suspicious than a random human spider appearing out of nowhere?” Megumi tried to make his point, sitting on Yuji’s gaming chair. “Even if you’re saving lives, people are questioning how it’s possible for a person to have all these spider abilities. If you wanna clear your intentions, maybe expose your identity in public?”
Yuji panicked and placed his ball on the side. “Okay, you promised me you’re not gonna tell anyone,” he reminded the dark-haired guy, “I wasn’t even going to tell you if only you didn’t catch me crawling in the ceiling when you entered my room.”
Megumi rolled his eyes like it was no big deal. “I don’t have a big mouth.”
“I’m just saying.” He raised his hands in surrender. “You’re the only one who knows. Not even Aunt Mei or…’
“Y/N?”
“Absolutely not.” Yuji’s heart rate increased. “I don’t know what her opinion is about Spider-Man and she has a boyfriend, so…”
The new best friend laughed under his breath. “After she kissed you? Are you stupid or what? You know, I don’t know what kind of world you’re living in, but in my world, it means she likes you.”
He sighed and stared at the full moon outside his window. “Well, why do you think it’d benefit both her and I if she knows I’m Spider-Man? Like, I’m not even Spider-Man, I’m just Spider-Boy!”
“Because,” Megumi ignored his unnecessary whining and put some thought into it, “if she’s gonna be your girlfriend, then you can’t hide it from her. Girlfriends can be really nosey and she’s gonna be suspicious about what you're up to. Imagine missing dates because you have someone to save. How are you gonna explain that?”
Yuji shrugged. “She’s not my girlfriend.”
“Theoretically speaking!”
“But it’s not gonna happen. She has high standards.”
“You’re so fucking dumb.”
“Hey, I’m smart and you know that!”
Frankly, it was comical to see Megumi stressing himself out by having even the simplest conversations with Itadori. “Whatever.” He gave up eventually and took out a suit from his backpack, later throwing the blue and red costume for him to catch. “There, I fixed your suit and added some high-tech performance that you might need. I also added new web cartridges for you like taser webs, web bullets, and more options.”
“Sick!” Yuji got up from bed and raved about his new Spider-Man suit. “Thanks, Fushiguro! I’m so lucky I have a genius as my best friend. You’d do well as the next CEO of Zen’in Technologies.”
Megumi ignored his praises and instead, criticized him about his chosen costume. “Why wear a spandex, though?”
“Doesn’t my butt look good in it?” Itadori joked while stripping off and getting a foot inside the suit. “Just kidding. It’s easier to move when it’s skin-tight.”
Unfortunately, Yuji’s excitement to try out his enhanced suit was interrupted when there was a knock on his door. “Yuji? It’s dinner time!” Shit. It was Aunt Mei. “Yuji?”
He kicked the suit under his bed, now turning hypervigilant. “Yeah, yeah. I’m coming!”
The door flew open and how scandalous must it be for Aunt Mei to see a half naked Yuji standing in front of a blushing Megumi who was clearly embarrassed from the obvious misunderstanding that flashed before the woman’s eyes. “Oh, hey, Megumi. You’re gonna join us for dinner.”
He cleared his throat. “Uh, it’s alright. I gotta go. My dad’s, um…”
“Your dad,” she replied with a visible gleam in her eyes, “is here and I’ve been chatting with him for half an hour now. Come on, get up, you two.”
Aunt Mei and Megumi’s father? What a plot twist.
“Back off, Spider-Man!”
Yuuji extended an arm to shoot his web on the surface behind the burglar, pulling the string back so the brick could hit the back of the man’s head. “It’s rude to steal, you know.”
“Arghh!” The muscular man charged his gun and fired at Itadori while he swung around, slinging his web to sway on every street light like he was Tarzan, “I’m going to kill you!”
“Not a chance, sir!” Yuji retorted in his high-pitched voice, putting his feet together as he spun from a light pole and consequently kicked the man’s chest at a perfect circumference. As soon as the culprit fell on his buttocks, Itadori quickly used his web to snatch the gun from his hand, throwing the firearm away and shooting another thicker web to completely trap the man against the floor. Whew! “You’re a bad guy.”
“Yeah? Why don’t you take off that mask of yours and show us who you are, you fucker?” The man tried to resist, flapping around like a fish with his upper body trapped from the spiderweb. He then tried to spit on Spider-Man’s mask which prompted the hero to fire off a web on his mouth as a consequence.
“Come on. My best friend made this suit. Don’t spit on it,” he quipped, shooting more web to keep his ankles in place. “That’ll dissolve in an hour, pal.” And as Yuji received an incoming message on his suit’s lenses, he decided that his duty was done. “The TMPD will arrest you before that, though. See ‘ya!”
“Way to go, Spider-Man!”
“We love you!”
“You’re our hero!”
He wasn’t going to lie. The attention was overwhelming, but at least people loved him. He was recognized for being the good guy and he was probably even more famous than Justin Bieber in his early teens. You could hear chants and cheers and claps from strangers who watched him swing all over Shibuya, yelling his usual “woohoo!” as he launched his web from building-to-building until he finally reached the window to his room. He quickly climbed in and removed every piece of Spider-Man paraphernalia from his body to remove evidence that he was, in fact, the famous masked man.
Why was he rushing, you wonder? It was because of the message he received from the lens of his suit.
From: Megumi
I don’t think we can talk about that black symbiote we discovered in your suit. She followed me to your apartment.
She? Who was Fushiguro even referring to?
He only got his answer when he opened the door, faking a yawn in his PJs as he saw Aunt Mei, Megumi, and… you. “Y/N, h-hey!” His eyes widened in panic. “What brings you here?”
It was Aunt Mei who narrowed her eyes. “Hang on, how did you get there? You weren’t in your room when I peeked in.”
Yuji concealed his incoming barrage of excuses with a laugh. “Are you sure you don’t need to get your eyes checked, Aunt Mei? I’ve been sleeping all this time.”
“But…” Your curious eyes were glossy for some reason. “You were just…”
Both Yuji and Megumi exchanged glances, communicating through eye movements as the former telepathically asked him why you were here and the latter saying he had no damn idea. The only reason they even managed to escape this awkward situation was because of the breaking news that flashed on the TV screen.
JUST IN: Spider-Man catches burglar from breaking into jewelry store
Footage of the man he encountered earlier was shown on the news, being handcuffed by the TMPD officers while they played a side-by-side of the CCTV recording of Spider-Man kicking some ass. His ego was already up the ceiling knowing full well that people would be gushing about his superhero persona, but it was your comments that boosted his ego even more. “He’s so amazing,” you mumbled, eyes full of wonder, “I hope I can meet him soon.”
Megumi suppressed a chuckle. “Right.”
“What’s so funny?” you asked, “It’s true. I love Spider-Man.”
Yuji cleared his throat. “I agree. Spider-Man’s a really great guy. Totally badass.”
ANOTHER BREAKING NEWS: Spider-Man has a clone and he’s far from a hero!
What the fuck? Saving his violent reactions for later, Itadori stood in complete befuddlement as the TV showed low quality photos of a guy in an all-black version of his Spider-Man suit who was climbing Tokyo Skytree. Reports said that there were two casualties when the unidentified man used its amorphous black liquid in the form of webs, shooting people for fun knowing that they couldn’t escape the highest part of the tower. The villain referred to himself as ‘Venom’ and announced that Spider-Man was his greatest enemy. Who the hell?
“The symbiote!” Both Yuji and Megumi exclaimed in unison, leaving you and Aunt Mei to jump in surprise.
“The what?” asked Aunt Mei, only to be met by the denial of her own nephew.
“It’s nothing, Mei-san.” Itadori then gave his raven-haired best friend a go signal before he turned to you. “Y/N, you need a word with me? Can we just do it tomorrow?”
Your expression became desolate. You mustn't be aware, but Yuji could feel a prick in his heart whenever you looked sad and he felt bad for unintentionally hurting your feelings. Again. “Oh, okay…” As you got up, you grabbed your bag and gave Aunt Mei a courteous bow. “Sorry for coming unannounced—”
“No, Y/N wait.” The pink-haired guy took your hand. Dammit. It was you over anyone else. How could Yuji forget that? “Let’s talk in my room.”
Listen, he wasn’t thinking about dirty things by being alone in a room with you, only that this situation felt surreal. Having the girl of his dreams inside his bedroom might sound like a fantasy, but it was real. It was an actual reality that he only managed to obtain after he and Megumi decided to postpone their conversation for next time. For now, Spider-Man needed to live his normal life as Yuji Itadori, and that non-superhero version of him willingly gave all of his attention to you. He didn’t need his spider-sense to read the unusual sadness in your countenance and that was how he started the conversation as you two sat at the corner of his bed.
“Something bothering you?” he asked, squeezing the hand on your lap. “How can I help?”
When you lifted your eyes to meet his gaze, they seemed full of fear and worry. “Yuji, I just wanna ask you to be careful, okay?” you began, trailing off shortly, “Sukuna, he… he’s acting really damn strange. I broke up with him and he got so angry. There was manic in his eyes, it’s like darkness took over him and he said he’s gonna get back you for taking me away and for humiliating him. I’m sorry.”
Yuji noticed the bruise on your lower lip, which was concealed by layers of make-up. “Did he hurt you?”
“Well, he was angry.”
“But still!” His knuckles felt cold. “He shouldn’t be hurting a woman!”
You cupped Yuji’s cheeks and pressed your foreheads together. “It’s my fault. I dragged you into it because I got so happy when you told me you liked me and I… Well, I’ve waited to hear it from you since we were kids. I liked you, too, Yuji. And I still do.”
For the first time in a long while, Yuji Itadori felt at home.
Maybe home wasn’t any place nor any house. Maybe home was simply you. Maybe knowing that you liked him the same way he liked you was his oasis in this otherwise chaotic world.
It was cathartic and gratifying to hear that you liked him after all these years and he could only wish he had told you a lot sooner. If only he had been more courageous and less insecure, more honest and less shy, more hopeful and less pessimistic. But he couldn’t erase his past and it was too late to regret, so in order to bask in this moment of joy, he crashed his lips onto yours and submitted to the euphoria of kissing the girl he loved the most. It was sweet—the taste, the feeling, the amount of happiness he had in his heart. He let the kiss intoxicate his mind so it could sink into him that this wasn’t just his imagination. You were as real as you felt in his arms when he pulled away and embraced you. “I’m going to protect you,” he made a promise, “Don’t worry about Sukuna or anyone else. I’ll be here for you and I’ll make sure nothing will bring us apart.”
You leaned in to peck his lips again. “I’m glad I have you, Yuji.”
How did it feel like to be in a relationship?
Friendly reminder to all readers that Yuji should be the last person to ask, unless people would be willing to read a 500-page novel of how blissful he had been for the past two weeks since he began dating you. Even Megumi himself got sick and tired of it, claiming that he was living the Yuji life way too much and the Spider-Man life way too less.
Okay, that was unfair. “I never wanted to become everyone’s hero!”
Fushiguro sat across from him in an empty school science lab, lips forming a downward slope as he focused on fixing his best friend’s web-shooter. “I get that you’re happy to have a girlfriend, but be realistic sometimes. People are counting on you. You know that the Venom is out there trying to assassinate civilians just to spite you while you’re out here being lovey-dovey with a girl.”
“She’s not just a girl, Fushiguro.” It was rare for Yuji to be this rigid and serious around him, but he was feeling too pressured and he wasn’t liking it at all. “I’m just a kid and I wanna live a normal life without having to fight villains every now and then. I wanna be just me.”
“But you’re not you anymore!” Megumi placed the web-shooter down and drew in a deep breath. “I’m not friends with you because you’re Spider-Man. I chose to be your friend because you always carried the best intentions towards other people. When I asked you why you wanted to use your abilities to protect the citizens, you told me that your grandfather’s last words were to help those who are in need. Did you suddenly forget that?”
He looked down and resorted to momentary silence. Silence that lasted until he was able to form his own thoughts about it. “It’s just that… I’m finally with the girl I love and I’m scared that being Spider-Man will take all of that away from me.”
“You heard how she adores Spider-Man,” the guy pointed out, “It’s not like she’s gonna hate you if she found out that you’re him. Be rational. Would you rather just sit and watch how people are dying because of you? How do you live without guilt?”
“Don’t put it that way!” Man. Yuji buried his face in his hands. “I carry that guilt every night and I always think of how much I wanna catch Venom, but…”
Megumi shook his head, displeased. “Do you realize that Y/N will still be in danger one way or another because the Venom could target her at any given time?” He loaded the specialized web cartridges and pushed it to Itadori. “If you wanna keep her safe, you have to kill the guy.”
“I don’t kill people,” he mumbled in protest.
“It’s not a person,” was Fushiguro’s counter, “It’s a dangerous being that’s murdering people for fun. There are two types of people, Itadori. One who stops a crime, and one who simply watches it.”
In other words, Yuji should know better than this. Without Megumi’s help, he never would have been the Spider-Man who could shoot all these amazing webs while wearing this amazing suit. Granted, he still had the superhuman power, but his resources wouldn’t have been as accessible if not for his supportive sidekick. Abandoning the Spider-Man role would mean that he was disregarding his friend’s efforts. It would mean that he was willing to let innocent people die because of him. It would mean that he was never truly honoring his grandfather’s last dying wish. Keeping all this in mind, Itadori exhaled a heavy sigh and put on his wrist-worn device. “You said I got flame webbing and sonic disruptors?”
A satisfied smile popped up on his best friend’s face. “Yeah, you can use them for the symbiote. Regular webs won’t work.”
“Alright.” Locked and loaded, Yuji bumped Megumi’s fist. “I’m gonna tell her tonight.”
When he said ‘tonight’, he didn’t exactly say how. Otherwise, he would have specified his statement, right? What he really meant was that he would tell you through FaceTime after he had his rehearsed speech prepared and he could easily hang up in order to avoid the embarrassment of seeing your negative reaction. It was easy. It should be easy as long as he followed the script.
And the first line went exactly like this, “I need to tell you something important.”
You smiled through the phone screen. “Uh-oh, is it bad?”
“It depends.” He chuckled uneasily. “Can I just leave hints and you’ll guess what I am?”
Lame. The simple three words were ‘I am Spider-Man’, but he still chose to be a coward by playing a game. “Hmm. That makes me a lot more curious. Go on, then.”
He gulped and raised the phone parallel to the ceiling. “Okay, so… uh, I like climbing and crawling. I’m a fast runner, too.”
“Mhm, so you’re athletic is what you mean.”
Yuji’s heart stumbled on its own rhythm. Perhaps he had to say something more specific. “My hands, when they do the job, I release this sheer, white fluid. well, I have to brew my own fluid and it becomes tight and sticky when I shoot it out of my—”
“Yuji.” You suppressed a smile. “Are you trying to cybersex with me?”
His ears suddenly felt hot and only now did he realize that his words were completely taken out of context. He was already blushing so hard that he had to cover his face with one hand. “It’s not what you’re thinking,” he swore to God, “Can I just… are you alone in your room right now?”
Holy cow. That sounded weird, too.
“Yeah, I am.” Your voice faded at the end of the sentence.
Well, since he already fucked up, it was now or never. “How would you feel if Spider-Man knocked on your window at this hour?”
Your answer sent more Cupid-spawned arrows to Itadori’s heart. “I’d tell him he’s amazing, but I have a boyfriend so he can’t come in.”
How could he deserve someone like you? You were all he would ever want on a girl. “Stay there. I’ll be back.”
He told you to stay, but where did he go exactly? You were guessing he went to take a bathroom break, but it had been fifteen minutes and there was no sign of a Yuji Itadori on your laptop’s screen. It was either he had fallen asleep or he was taking a really huge dump, and whichever it was, you decided to reach for your phone and give him a call.
But as the phone rang on your left ear, a sudden knock on the window filled your right. You experienced a whiplash of fear, surprise, and confusion all in one minute as you turned around to see an upside down Spider-Man dangling on his web outside of your window. Impossible. You rushed towards him, lightly chuckling as the masked man waved at you until you opened the window and allowed for the cold breeze to blow your hair back.
“Hey, beautiful. I heard I’m not allowed to come in because you have a boyfriend,” the young vigilante spoke in a playful tone and it didn’t take you long enough to put two and two together.
That voice. That personality. The words he spoke about you earlier. “Yuji?” His name escaped your lips as it finally made sense.
Although he had a mask on, you could sense that he was smiling. “You caught me.”
You couldn’t believe it. No other words came out of your mouth as you were rendered speechless with the realization that you were dating Spider-Man. He was the subject of every girl’s affection right now, and you were the lucky one who had the privilege of dating such a wonderful guy. But whether he was Yuji or Spider-Man, nothing really changed. Your feelings for him went deep. “You didn’t have to hide it. I wouldn’t be telling anyone, I promise you.”
“Are you sure you’re fine with it?” he asked while allowing you to peel the mask from his chin and up to the middle of his nose bridge.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” You gave him a soft kiss, moving in perfect sync with his lips. The way he enveloped his mouth around yours made your heart tingle inside, allowing fire to ignite in your veins from the heated make out session that you two just shared. The kiss was intense and you were already catching your breath when you pulled away to see how your boyfriend hauled himself with his web, climbing inside your window only to press you against the wall and kiss you much deeper than the last. “Yuji.”
He stared into your eyes. “Hm?”
You wrapped an arm around his neck. “Can you swing me around the city?”

Fair warning to people who have acrophobia because this ride certainly wasn’t for them. You were a hundred feet off the ground, screaming at the top of your lungs as you held onto your boyfriend tight—arms and legs wrapped around his frame when he fired his web from one skyscraper to another. He towed you around the city just as you requested, joining your shrieks of excitement as the adrenaline rush intensified the twist in your gut. You decided to close your eyes when he got too high, blinded by the flashing lights of colorful Shibuya and its plethora of LEDs, and simply basked yourself with the cold air that kissed your face. “I can’t believe this!” your voice ripped through the open air.
“Me neither!” Yuji yelled as the sound of your voices scattered from the open space. People from below were cheering for Spider-Man as he turned the city into his playground.
The swinging was soon replaced by another ride also known as the ‘spider crawl’ because the hero latched onto Tokyo Skytree’s wall, climbing the surface and stimulating your adrenaline more than he already had. There, at the highest part of the tower, he held your waist and let you stand on a metal railing. “This is so crazy.”
Itadori took off his mask and shot you a loving smile. “We can do this again anytime you want.”
Perks of dating Yuji Itadori: he was Yuji Itadori.
“I love you,” he was the first one to say it.
And you didn’t hesitate returning the same words. “I love you.”
Love meant many things.
If you type in a quick Google search, the result would tell you that love ‘encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasure.’
For Yuji, love was caring for someone so deeply. Love was finding happiness in that person. Love was giving them their own happiness. Love was being devoted and sincere. Love was to sacrifice. Love was to protect someone close to you. Love was doing your utmost best to keep them safe.
Love was you.
But how could that love last when he couldn’t even protect you? When, because he was playing his duty as Spider-Man, he jeopardized your supposedly peaceful life by dragging you to the dangers of his? Just how unbelievably stupid was he to think that his perfect relationship could last long without any threat?
He may have managed to go head-to-head with Venom, but he never expected that it would be at the cost of your safety. “Let her go!”
“Catch her if you can.” The horrendous black creature hissed at him with his slavering tongue, showing his set of sharp, rotten teeth while holding you hostage on top of a crane.
“I said let her go!” Yuji shot his web on your stomach, pulling you back before Venom cut it with his razor teeth. “Aghh, don’t touch her!”
Your scream was horrifying when the black symbiote that locked you at the boom tip loosened his grip a little, leaving you to hang like a doll using only one arm to support your body. “Yuji! Help!”
Venom spoke in a familiar voice, finally unveiling his face when the symbiote allowed an opening. “Remember me?”
Sukuna. He should’ve known!
“H-How?” You yelped in terror when the crane moved around. “Help!”
This was Yuji’s fight and you didn’t need to be a part of it. He could never forgive himself if something happened to you, so his main plan was to keep Sukuna separated from you and once he managed to do it, he would be launching his webbing flames and sonic disruptors which were the best combination to eliminate the alien symbiote off its host. He pitied Sukuna for having gone through such a brutal transition, but it didn’t really seem that he was resisting it. The reason why his nemesis was so powerful was because the symbiote bonded with him and there was only one desire in his mind: to kill Yuji Itadori.
“Sukuna, we can talk about this!” Yuji attempted to bargain, and yet was declined. “Sukuna, please! Let Y/N go! This isn’t you. Don’t let the creature take over your mind!”
Attacks from the black tinted spider twin came in the form of punches as the two of them grappled at the base of the boom, climbing upwards and shooting each other with webs and symbiotes respectively. He took this chance to start using his webbing flames and he did it by sending a fusillade of webs that burned into flames when they hit Sukuna’s Venom skin. The projectiles were launched repeatedly along with the sonic disruptors, and the villain’s distraction became the perfect opportunity for Yuji to scoop you out of the boom.
First plan was to let you escape, the second was to destroy the evil symbiote.
After swinging across the street by propelling from the high walls, Spider-Man found a dark alley where could finally put you back on your feet.
“Y/N… You’re putting yourself in danger for just being with me.” It pained him to say all this, but he had to. It was for your sake. For your family. For the people that could love you so much more than what he could only offer. Tonight was a lesson that he was never going to be the guy that would keep you safe. He was a masked menace who only exposed you to danger and you deserved better than this. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I’m sorry I got you involved. I’m sorry I put your life at risk. I’m sorry I—”
Despite being held captive at a crane a few minutes ago, there was no fear in your eyes when you pulled him for a passionate kiss, locking your lips around his just to silence his doubts. And by the time you pulled away, he didn’t expect that his words hurt you like a thousand knives. “Don’t you ever say sorry for wanting to be with me,” you were tearful as you said it, “I love you and that's all that matters.”
“But look at us,” he said, unmasking his face, “Look at what I put you through. I don’t want this life. I just wanna be with you. I wanna be a normal teenage guy, not Spider-Man or anyone else. I just wanna be Yuji Itadori.”
You pressed your forehead against his. “With great power comes great responsibility,” you uttered the words with the intention to clear the chaos in his mind, “Your abilities are gifts. You were fated to have them, and now you have people looking at you with hope. I know you didn’t ask to become Spider-Man, but—”
“There you are!”
Yuji’s face became ashen. He watched with numb horror how a half burnt Sukuna used his web to send you flying against a wall. Hitting your head wasn’t the most devastating part. It was the piece of metal that pierced through your body, thus sending blood to gush out of your mouth. “NO! Y/N!”
He was in denial, and in pain, and in a fit of rage. Itadori used the strongest feeling to dominate him and attacked Sukuna with continuous usage of webbing flames and sonic disruption. Yuji screamed with anger as the rapid shooting left his foe engulfed in huge flames, sending him to his fatal end.
“Y/N!” His heart broke in half, his eyes flooded with tears. This can’t be. This is a nightmare. “No, Y/N. You’re okay. Y-You’re okay.”
Truthfully, you weren’t. The metal was deep within your gut, keeping you afloat ten feet above the ground. You struggled with words as you raised a weak arm to touch him, and yet you couldn’t. Your only option was to smile through the agonizing pain. “D-Don’t regret.”
“No, no. You’re gonna be fine,” he brushed the hair out of your face, “We’re gonna take this thing out of you and you’re gonna be fine. Please, please stay with me.”
The awful clutch on his chest had his heart in knots. Time slowed as the gravity of the situation weighed it down, leaving just you and him in a dark alley with the rest of the world acting as a background. He touched your cheek and saw that your eyes were lachrymose from the buildup of tears, but there wasn’t anything much he could do but to accept reality.
The reality was that Spider-Man just lost the only girl he would ever love.
“No,” he sobbed, pressing his forehead on yours, “No, Y/N. I-I’m sorry. Don’t go, please.”
As your eyes stayed open—still, silent, unmoving—he knew that you were no longer a body with a soul.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Three months.
They said it was long enough to grieve someone’s death and Yuji watched how people eventually moved on with their lives after your death as if he was the only one who found no purpose in this cruel world. Pain wasn’t even enough to describe how he was feeling. It was so much more than a simple heartache, like his soul was burned along the flames that engulfed Sukuna and the symbiote that clung to his body. There were moments where he was tempted to pull a Romeo and Juliet because it seemed like it was his only hope from escaping the constant pull that trapped him in an abyss of misery. But time and time again, he was reminded of your last words of how having great power equaled having great responsibility, and so he tried to get better in honor of you.
Unfortunately, being Spider-Man was not in his repertoire anymore.
He stopped wearing the infamous red and blue suit after you died, stopped being the hero that the city needed, and stopped forcing himself to be the savior that couldn’t even save his own girlfriend. He tried to live a normal, humble life as Yuji Itadori and abandoned his other life as the webslinger, but sometimes there were moments where he felt immensely pressured to return.
BREAKING NEWS: Spider-Man, we need you!
“Folks, the crime rate in Tokyo had a significant increase ever since our masked hero seemed to have disappeared. Today, we bring you reports of two armed men who broke into a lady’s condominium and stole a billion yen worth of personal property—”
“Yuji?” Aunt Mei called from the living room. “Where are you going, darling?”
It wasn’t what you were thinking. No, he wasn’t going to be Spider-Man today.
“Just somewhere,” he answered, slinging his backpack on one shoulder, “I’ll see you later.”
The direction of his adventure today was to the apartment of the most famous man in the world of sorcery. Megumi was the one who introduced Yuji to the knowledge about this guy, telling him all of his capabilities and powers that any normal person would have thought was completely impossible. He would have thought so, too. But surely, being bitten by a radioactive spider and having superhuman abilities gave Itadori a fair leverage into believing that the sorcerer was indeed legitimate.
And that was why he was here now, standing in front of Satoru Gojou who led him inside his spacious duplex penthouse.
“Spidey,” the white-haired man greeted him in a comical tone, “How can I assist?”
Yuji held his breath and stared at the majestic blue eyes that held power to the universe’s domain and all its infinite possibilities.
“Please turn back time and make everyone who knows Yuji Itadori forget him, including my girlfriend.”

Megumi is so cute, but Yuuji ? The spideys meme ? I picture it so clearly in my head and I love
could i request first years+ Gojo with an s/o who's also a vessel?
sure! thank you for your patience with me and writing this! still slowly getting back into the habit of writing lol
——
- - > yuuji itadori
Twins!
Literally Yuuji bonds with you so quickly over this and it honestly brings you two closer together. It’s like that Spider-Man meme where they’re pointing at each other.
That was you and him when you first learned that you’re both vessels.
As much as Yuuji is glad that someone understands what it’s like to be a vessel, he’s gonna ask you a lot of questions to make sure your life isn’t in danger.
Are you okay? Are you being hurt in any way by being a vessel? What’s the cursed spirit inside you like?
Whoever you’re sharing your body with better treat you better than Sukuna treats him otherwise he’s gonna have a problem.
He does confide in you a ton because you both have a shared understanding of what you’re going through. And Yuuji honestly needs someone who just understands.
You both make each other stronger and keep the other safe.
——
- - > megumi fushiguro
Probably the most concerned person of everyone here.
Megumi already thought it was unnatural that Itadori was a vessel, so the fact that you’re one as well?
He’s very worried for you! He doesn’t want the person he loves so dearly to be in any pain over a cursed spirit.
He really equates you being a vessel to what Itadori being a vessel is like. So you’ll have to really talk with him about how it is/isn’t like that.
Megumi would absolutely lose it if someone like SUKUNA was using you as a vessel.
Every day he wants you to confirm to him that you are okay, not in danger, and not being hurt in any way by being a vessel.
If you’re all good, he’ll give you a small thumbs up, ruffle your hair, and drop it.
Just keep him informed about everything and that you’re doing good to keep him from worrying.
——
- - > nobara kugisaki
Nobara will try and take a middle ground with this. She won’t overreact and freak out about it, and keeps as level headed about it as she can.
I mean, she did just learn that her partner is a vessel so she’ll get a little angry but can you blame her?
She wants you to tell her everything you know about this cursed spirit. You’re her partner, she wants to know how best to help you if and when you need it.
Literally any little thing that you know about it she wants to know. Better for her to be informed about even the most meaningless thing.
If you didn’t know Itadori before, you do now! Nobara really looks for him for advice and such when she doesn’t want to outright ask you.
It really inspired her to train more too. If the cursed spirit inside you is strong, she wants to be stronger in order to beat (or at least contain) it.
She really just wants to be strong enough to protect you and fight for you whenever!
And she’ll always cockily inform your cursed spirit that she CAN kick their ass if they hurt you.
——
- - > satoru gojo
Satoru is not worried in the slightest. He’s the strongest after all, what does he have to worry about?
As long as you aren’t being seriously threatened by the cursed spirit, he won’t be that concerned about it unless you are.
And if you are worried about it he will figure something out. You’re his partner and he isn’t going to let you die to this. He’ll protect you no matter what.
Probably asks like way too many questions about it. And by that I mean he’ll ask questions that like aren’t even important.
“Hey (Y/N), does the spirit using you as a vessel like my hair? No, you don’t understand it’s very important-”
He’ll literally joke around about it so much and provoke the both of you about it. This man does not hold back. He’s a little shit and you know it.
But in all actuality he keeps a close eye on you as much as he can. He’ll always be prepared for anything anytime.
