A Spy Mistress’ Birthday

Just a small idea that turned into a short one-shot about the ultimate spider wife from the game Lovestruck.

Summary - What MC would do for Xenia of the Autumn’s birthday.

Xenia was the embodiment of an enigma, difficult to understand, but just hearing her open up was entirely worth the effort. MC’s current predicament was what to surprise the spy mistress with on her birthday. She could go all out and procure the help of her friends to set up an elaborate celebration, but after much deliberation, MC settled on some simple yet sweet gestures.

As the sun rose and light poured in through the stain glass windows of Xenia’s room, MC began to stir. She cracked her eyes open marginally, allowing them to adjust ever so slowly. The sun bathing her undergarment clad body wasn’t the only source of heat for MC. The other lay behind her, with a set of arms gently holding her in place. After successfully turning in the mistress’ embrace, her face was level with that of the sleeping beauty before her. MC began to tenderly place kisses along Xenia’s jawline, pecking the skin intermittently every few seconds. Xenia shifted ever so slightly in her sleep, eyelids fluttering as she began to wake. A final kiss sealed their lips together, and Xenia reciprocated, as they separated MC noted the imperceptible smile that was left on the mistress’ face.  

Later in the day, following such a delightful wake-up call, Xenia had been requested by MC herself down in the kitchens. Upon walking into the vast room, an enticing aroma invaded her senses. There on the table was a culinary masterpiece, an array of Winter Wild’s food was laid out across the wooden surface, each made with a hefty dose of love. Even the tea that was picked was exquisite, purposely chosen to compliment the dishes in front of her. That afternoon was spent indulging in those carefully crafted dishes, periodically feeding each other mouthfuls of their favourites.

Xenia felt warmth spread throughout her body, something she hadn’t properly felt since Val. She had found someone who treated her with care but would stand up to her, even challenge her when necessary. That was a trait she truly admired. She believed nothing else could make the day more special, but MC had one more trick up her sleeve that just so happened to involve Ruelle.

Using the shadows to her advantage Ruelle appeared for a split second then disappeared many times over. Each time she was holding a different flower, with a delicate handwritten note attached to each stem.

First was a red camellia, followed up by a pink version of the same variety. The small notes attached to each, professing how much the red-head longed for her and how she held a special place in her heart for the older woman. A wide smile graced Xenia’s face, growing bigger as she grew closer to her bedroom.

Second was a delicate red chrysanthemum, with a simple message of ‘I love you’. Coupled with the next flower, a lily of the valley, claiming ‘you have made my life complete’. A blush took over her cheeks, the shade almost matching the red of the gems inlaid in her dress.

The last flower handed to her by her bedroom door was a primrose, with a heart drawn over the message. ‘I cannot live without you’. Xenia scolded herself as she felt overwhelmed by her emotions, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes.

As she opened the door, at last, she was greeted by a red-head patiently waiting on her bed. Without hesitation, Xenia glided across the floor, taking the younger woman in her arms. Their lips pressed together in a passionate, searing kiss and Xenia wasted no time, in pulling their bodies closer together. When they were eventually forced to pull away, to allow oxygen to enter their bodies once more, Xenia whispered into MC’s ear, “Thank you, my sweet girl.”
