Laurel - Fucking You To Death

How tall is laurel? Or like what is the height difference between her and her parents?

Did laruel ever go to a traditional school? If so was she able to make friends (or possibly bullied?) if not did Clara just homeschool her?

What ever did cause Laurel’s wings to not grow? Was it a deficiency in magia that is the culprit?

Are there anyone of different skin colors in the world? Or is everyone just white with different levels of sun tan?

Laurel is around 6ft or perhaps a bit taller as an adult, much taller than both her parents who are well under 6ft.

Laurel is home schooled throughout her childhood because Clara felt she would suffer intense bullying even if she were to be accepted into a schoolhouse. In Laurel's time humans are extremely xenophobic and do not want humans to mix with other intelligent species and would not want a halfbreed like Laurel fraternizing with their children. That being said, Laurel definitely snuck out to hang out with the children from whatever town the family was living near and had a social life, even if for the most part she was kept a secret.

There are two reasons Laurel's wings stopped growing. The first is from staying in the north with her mother nearly every winter during her entire childhood and therefore having long months of not consuming enough magical plants/animals. As a baby and young child this did not affect her as strongly because she didn't need that much magia to help change her body, but the bigger she grew the more magia she needed to consume to sustain her magical growth/biology. By the time she hits puberty, when harpies need magia the most to help their bodies natural changes, going through months without magia caused Laurel to be severely underdeveloped in her harpy traits, including her wing size. Her human puberty developed normally however and eventually dominated her physical appearance. The second is that, even if she was able to go south every year of her life, Laurel would not have developed her harpy features to their full potential since she's half human. Even in the best conditions she would have been smaller, have less feathers, have weaker nails/talons, and not have fully sharp teeth like the average female harpy. She may have been able to keep the ability to fly into adulthood, but it would not be as easy as it would be if she were a full blooded harpy.

Of course there are people of different skin colors in their world. Clara's ex-girlfriend Rosie is black. Most of the humans who live in the south have brown skin. And since the human's known world is fairly small, people of different features and skin colors move around all the time. There honestly isn't a lot of prejudice with race within human society because of the amount of trade/ travel. Rather their hatred and prejudice is focused on non-human species like harpies.
