Since @kyri45 made her own AU trending and could made up such a great fandom and well written story, i got inspired to redraw and maybe came up again with an old lmk AU of mine

also this is a redrawing from this 2022 thingie

i'll be doing just for funsies for now but who knows where this is going to take me tho

I had a spicynoodles idea last night

It's basically just them in Tangled

LBD is Mother Gothal obvi, MK is Rapunzal and Red Son is Flynn.

Maybe Mei can be Pascal but a tiny dragon instead? Or she's Maximas but badass horse dragon.

King and Queen(I don't think they have names) can is Shadowpeach.

Suggestion from @frikijedai, Freenoodles run the ugly duckling bar place, and I really like that.

I think it also works with Red Son as Rapunzal and MK as Flynn but Red Son doesn't seem like the type to take LBD's bs as much. He does have the hair for it tho

Important Update!

I'm going with the Red Son as Rapunzal version, @py-dreamer had some really good ideas + I get to draw Red Son with really long, fluffy hair.

MK works good as Flynn because he can fit Flynn's story pretty well, an orphan inspired by a popular character in a story he told all the other kids and makes a new image for himself based on that hero.

Mei is a smol dragon that is constantly teasing the boys, she's kinda like the dragon from the Barbie Rapunzal movie, maybe she can turn into a humanoid form but prefers or is stuck in ity bity dragon form.

LBD definitely knows about Mei here but since she's very smol and seemingly insignificant, LBD doesn't give a shit about her, + she keeps Red Son from bugging her too much.

Freenoodles still run the ugly duckling tavern/restaurant thing like in the suggestion from @frikijedai.

The Mayor is still LBD's assistant, I thought about him being the small old man from the tavern but nah.

This isn't strictly sticking to the Tangled story, it's more Tangled + fairytale inspired AU, it has the same major plot points but the details are a bit different.

Red Son's power does not come from his hair, he has the power in him. His hair will glow and hest up when he says the incantation, and he can send the fire through it + it catches fire when he gets too emotional. So his hair is a better weapon cause it can burn people. If it gets cut its very flammable.

MK is still a monkey.

Here is a snippet of Macaque and Wukong making up after Wukong and his circus burnt to the ground because Wukong never had enough. With a sprinkle of MK and Red Son's rewrite the stars romance~

Additionally at the end there is the full plot details that I unfortunately don't have time to expand on but I want to give the idea to the fandom.

Noodle Ninja au : Appearance

Guess who's back with more Noodle Ninja Au because I didn't want to just leave it at one post😃

So something that came up when thinking about this au was 'If Kai is Mk and Red Son's child, why does he look so human?'. This came up because I have a headcannon that Red Son looks more like his father but he covers it up with glamour and we already saw that MK had/has a monkey form in LMK season 4.

So my idea is that Kai does have a monkey/bull form. Its just hidden by glamour. Like 24/7. This obviously take a troll on Kai in the way that he needs to keep resting to get back the insane amount of his energy being used to keep up the glamour. What I'm basically saying is that he needs to sleep. A LOT of sleep. But being a ninja and seeing 'Evil never sleeps', this does not work well. So Kai is always tired but he pretends not to be. And he's mastered this unhealthy habit since for him he's been doing it all his life.

Also below is a picture of what I imagine Kai to look like when he's not using glamour.

I can't draw and I could only use this but I personally thinks it envisions what I believe he would look like perfectly 🙂 Also headcannon that Kai's hair is more fluffy than Jay's when he's not using hair gel or glamour. Let's just say that when he's not using glamour or hair gel that the fluffiness of his hair is unmatched.

HOLY SHIT!!! This fits so perfectly with these ships!! Pardon me as I rant about this because DUDE! Your art has inspired me!!!!

Wukong's never happy with where he's at, he always wants more and more. Picture the celestials in cannon as the rich upper class society in this. Mac is his husband who would just be happy with a small middle class life with SWK. BUT Wukong gets the brilliant side show idea and ropes Mac into it cause he knows Mac's talented and he could be in the spotlight (which Mac loves cause he's a theater kid). Then they get more performers (Mei, Sandy, DBK, PIF, Red Boy, etc). And then he ropes MK into it all; idk why maybe he's a rich kid like the movie or MK just wants to join cause it's fun, again idk but he's here now and we're moving on. Then BAM Red Son and MK's meeting and flirting and wanting but not wanting each other.

Meanwhile SWK is still hungry for more cause it's never enough. Mac meanwhile just wants him to stay and be happy with what they have. And then at a social event they meet the Camel Ridge trio. SWK plans on making them stars and draws up plans to go on tour with them. Mac is against this cause he can see how Azure stares at his man. And he just wants Wukong to be happy here with him and their mini circus family. But SWK leaves Mac and MK behind and goes on tour with Camel Ridge. Camel Ridge do very well but the OG circus is not. They've got a lot of haters and a lot of people Wukong swindled/conned all coming at them. They're trying to handle it but it's definitely not going great. While this is all happening Red Son and MK are trying the romance thing but it's slow and hesitant and adorable!

Then on tour Azure kisses SWK, and like the movie things start to fall apart. Wukong runs back but that night the circus catches fire (or something dramatic) and Wukong barely rescues MK in time. Everyone's mad at Wukong, maybe Mei even lays into him like she did in cannon. Anyway then Nezha (the upperclass guy who still entertains SWK socially and banters with him a bit) checks on him and the burnt remains on everything. Reveals the kissing pic to SWK who hauls ass to Macaque to try and apologize. Mac's pissed that he's never enough the circus wasn't enough, nothing was. So drama continues like the movie. The ray of silver lining is Red Son and MK actually getting together :3 Then MK puts the wind back in SWK's sails and such.

Personally I wouldn't want Mac to forgive SWK right away, I think the movie rushed that a bit. So I'd end it with Mac still staying at the circus cause of their found family. But he's got more sassy and isn't as giving in to SWK, more like how he in in cannon. So Wukong and him still have feelings for each other, but Mac is still salty and still gets to be the bitchy emo we love him to be.

and plot rant finished! Sorry I just had to get that out. This AU is great holy shit! Can't believe I never thought to put LMK and this movie together! Thank you @introverted-monkey-noises!! :D

Is MK the son of Macaque and Monkey king in your Tangled AU ? Would be an interesting sequel. Like in the first part of the story, it’s about red finding out where he came from and in the second it could be Mei just for the final reveal that MK is Monkey kings son. Maybe he has to find his parents or something. They would all get their secret, sad backstory ;)

He and Macaque come from the same troop which is why he has four ears.

And don't worry, MK already has a sad backstory, both of his birth parents are probably dead, one of them is definitely dead, the other one I haven't decided yet.

There will be a part where he learns about what happened to his parents, spoiler alert it is very, very bad. And involves LBD.

And when Macaque and Wukong see this four eared monkey kid who's an infamous thief, has been using Wukong's old staff for years and shares a suspicious amount of similarities with their adopted daughter, they decided to add another kid to their troop of chaotic gremlins.

For noodle Ninja au I have this idea that out of the entire LMK cast. Jin and Yin find Kai first. And they almost immediately know who (or what) he is. Meanwhile Kai and the rest of the ninja are wondering where they are (they are in the LMK universe) and why are there these weird people (?) talking about bringing someone to their real parents for money.

The ninja just want to know why Kai is gliching in and out of being a normal person and being a monkey cow thing. Even Wu has no clue what's going on. Ray and Maya have a feeling this is to do with the fact Ray never gave Kai the element of fire.
