Tang ‘raises’ Nezha au

So I had an idea rattling in my head so I wanted to share it.

So as we know the Jade emperor is incredibly trigger happy. If I remember correctly in the original journey to the west story he was going to execute Ao Lie for accidentally burning a house and breaking a gem thing (please let me know if I’m wrong)

But anyway the jade emperor abuses his power often. He tends to punish small offenses. My idea is that Nezha gets framed for something, maybe stealing or destroying something but because of his relationship to the jade emperor he doesn’t execute him, instead he does what he thinks is torture, living amongst humans.

The emperor seals away Nezha’s powers and traps him in a ‘mortal’ body (a body that ages like a human until his power seal is removed but he’s still technically immortal). 

He gets sent down to earth in his original 12 year old body. He ends up being found by Tang maybe a few months after being sent down. He ends up taking him to Pigsy’s noodles where he meets Pigsy and Mk (who is like 2 years younger). When Pigsy and Tang ask where his parents are he answers truthfully, heaven. While to Nezha it’s just the truth Tang and Pigsy think that he means his parents is dead and they end up adopting him (mostly Tang though)

Unlike Pigsy who took a while to be comfortable with being called MK’s dad Tang was literally so happy to be called dad by Nezha for the first time (it was a accident but he ends up calling him dad all the time by the time the show actually starts).

So the show goes on but Nezha is in the show and is called MK’s brother (Freenoodles is also cannon in this au). So basically Nezha is trying to help his brother with his powers while also trying not to be seen by Wukong because he’ll definitely recognize him. They do eventually meet up and Wukong promises to keep his secret.

My idea of how it gets revealed that he is the third lotus prince Nezha is through Ao Guang in season 3 since in mythology Nezha killed Ao Bing

Wukong hummed as he tinkered with his newest invention, his mask on the table, when suddenly, he heard the door to his bedroom open, he smiled knowing who it was. Wukong got up and walked towards you, his lover, with his arms extended, and he enveloped you in a hug, pressing kisses to your face. “Fully awake yet cupcake~?” Wukong mumbled into your cheek. “Mmm…” Wukong chuckled at your response. “I’ll take that as a no.” Wukong picked you up and carried you over to the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge, supporting you with one arm. “Whatcha in the mood for sweet pea?” “I’m not really hungry…” Wukong’s head tilted to the side. “But breakfast is the most important meal of the day! You’re not even a little hungry?” You shook your head, causing Wukong to put a hand on your forehead. “You’re burning up baby cakes… do you feel nauseous? Dizzy? Faint? Are you dying?!”

As you told him your symptoms, and that you were in fact not dying, and just sick, he carried you back to bed, gently laying you down. “Don’t move sweet cheeks, I’ll be back in a jiffy.” Wukong kissed your forehead and walked out of the bedroom. He eventually returned with chicken noodle soup, a bottle of water, and some medicine. “I know you said you weren’t hungry, but you still need to eat something.” He put the tray down on the bed and picked up the noodle bowl, using chopsticks to scoop some noodles up. “You just rest your pretty head and I’ll feed you~” Wukong held the noodles up to your mouth, expecting it to open. After you were fed, Wukong opened the medicine bottle and shook the bottle gently till a pill came out. “Take this for me, alright honey bun?” He said, handing the pill and the water bottle to you. After you took the pill and put the water bottle on the nightstand beside you, Wukong immediately sprung onto you and cuddled up to you, pressing kisses to your face and wrapping all of his limbs around you. Your cheek was smushed against his face. “Do you need anything else cutie patootie, how about I draw you a warm bath?” As you nodded your head, he sat up with you still in his embrace, and carried you to the bathroom.

As the bath was ready, and you were both undressed, he lowered you into the bath and slid in with you, immediately pulling you against his chest. “Let me wash you pookie, it’s important you rest.” Wukong squirted some shampoo onto his hand and started to rub it into your hair, taking his time, and making sure to also massage your scalp, making sure you felt as comfortable as possible, and when he washed your body, he made sure to pay extra attention to any tension you had, making sure to get rid of any knots that bothered you, and whispering his sympathy by saying stuff like; “my sweet peach doesn’t deserve any of this pain~”, or; “my poor baby~”. After you were completely washed, Wukong carried you out of the bath, and dried you off himself with a warm towel fresh out of the dryer, then wrapped you in his coziest robe, only then did he dry himself off and clothe himself.

He carried you back to bed and snuggled close to you, going back to cuddling you. “I’ll stay with you as long as I can till you’re better.” He whispered into your temple, rubbing your back gently and using the other one to support your head. He didn’t care if he’d also get sick if he stayed so close, plus, if he did, he’d get to spend even more time with you, and that’s all that mattered, you and him.

{Special Stranger} Nezha ♡ Pumpkin Carving

Very much rushed drabble and art just because I wanted to get this out in time for Halloween. So it's meh towards the end.

[TL;DR] The inside joke headcanon of Nezha being way too skilled at things shows.

It was October and Halloween was fast approaching. And while it wasn't the first Halloween you were celebrating with your boyfriend, it was the first time you had a special activity planned.

And after several hours of work, Nezha finally returned home, clearly exhausted. He probably had to deal with a lot of unruly people again. You smiled softly as you greeted him from the kitchen door. "Welcome home!"

At the sound of your voice, his mood seemed to change. Nezha's exhaustion seemed to fade for even just a moment as he approached you. He pulled you closer, leaned in, and gave you a gentle kiss before pulling away. "It's good to be home." That's when he looked down and noticed you wearing an apron with a cute pumpkin on it. He raised an eyebrow as he comments, "New apron?"

You nodded happily, humming in confirmation. "I also got you one so we can match for the pumpkin carving!"

His eyes widened a little in realization as he pursed his lips. "Oh shit- That was today? I'm so sorry, blossom- I should've come home earlier", he groans a little, annoyed at himself for having forgotten.

You leaned in and kissed his cheek. "It's absolutely fine, honey. I figured you wouldn't be home until late in the afternoon. So I already got everything ready for us." You reassured before you lead him towards the kitchen, where you had already set up the table. There were also the pumpkins the two of you picked the week prior.

Nezha glanced at the table as he let out a chuckle. "Man, all these things you do for me... Sometimes I really feel like I don't deserve yo-"

You quickly shut him up with another kiss on the lips. "Shush, love. You absolutely deserve me. And I'm lucky to have you in return."

He quickly melted into the kiss before eventually pulling away with a smile, releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding. He wanted to keep up the banter with you, but he knew you had a date involving carving pumpkins. The affectionate banter would have to wait until later.

You handed him his matching apron so he could put it on, before sitting down at the table next to him. He had carved a few pumpkins before to entertain some children from time to time, but he never got to actually play around with the design much. After all, detailed carvings weren't easy for children, so he used big openings for simple smiley faces whenever he taught them how to do it.

During your date, he decided to be a lot more ambitious though, just to test his own skills and impress you. All the while you kept trying to take glances at what design he chose. However, everytime he noticed you trying to take a peek in a not so subtle way, he gently shoo'd you back to your own side of the table. A lot of laughter was involved in your attempts to take a look and him trying to push you away to keep it a surprise.

You could tell he had fun as he seemed quite focused on whatever he was working on. Meanwhile you were struggling just a little with the more detailed parts of your own work. It took a while, but eventually the two of you were done. And as a little test and surprise, you placed one candle into each pumpkin. Once Nezha lit them up, you turned off the lights.

You couldn't help but stare in awe at his pumpkin's design illuminated by the candle. It seemed very detailed for the short amount of time you've spent on carving. It looked like a faceless image of yourself holding a lotus flower in your hands. The sight of him having created something so much better than yours made you feel a bit insecure as he eagerly looked at your pumpkin. While your own carving wasn't all that bad, it was rather simple and the detailed parts clearly didn't have the cleanest lines. But that didn't matter to him as he proceeded to compliment your work.

The rest of the evening was overall relaxing as you and your boyfriend decided to just watch movies and cuddle on the couch.

I have seen many creators making LMK Nezha and Ao Lie into friends. That they have known eachothers since childhood and respect eachother. But what if this was opposite for 2019/2025 Nezha and Ao Lie? What if they despised eachother? But in a comedic way? Like 2019 Nezha sees Ao Lie as a spoiled brat that deserves a good beating, while Ao Lie saw Nezha as a demon with an awfull personality.

And it dosen't get better when Ao Lie get to know that Nezha is together with Ao Bing, His only parental figure! And that his cousin has awfull taste in men!

Because let's face it. Ao Run is just as good as a parent like Ao Guang.

Personally, I'd like to think that Ao Bing and Ao Lie’s relationship similar to Ao Yi and Ao Bing’s relationship, like an older brother figure who became a pseudo-parent figure (not a good sign of a healthy home).

Yeah, if Ao Guang is any indicator, and judging by Nezha 2, Ao Run is not a good parent either.

I would summarize the conversation between the two cousins as the following:

I would see Nezha and Ao Lie's conversation as this:

Nezha blinks and suddenly he sees Xiaotian, MK, Wukong and Macaque’s son, their legacy, the star to their sun and moon, Nezha’s-

“-friend, I couldn’t ask for more!”

Wukong was wrong.

He knows what he’s fighting for now.

Through the blinding glow of Li Jing’s attack, a flurry of pink lotus petals explodes in retaliation.

Gritting his teeth, Nezha’s arms trembled under his shield. He takes one step forward, then another, and another-

His shield shatters, he takes two steps back. He barely raises his spear in time to block his father’s next blow. The shaft of his weapon is molten lava in his palms. 

He loses his spear first. Then most of his armor, then his wheels, ah he hasn’t walked in a while, with how shaky his legs are he’s surprised he’s still upright-

Then he’s not. His father’s wrath rumbles in warning. What was one more act of defiance?

And so Nezha, Third Lotus Prince, crawls up those final steps and uses the last of his strength to grab the Pagoda-Wielding General’s fluttering cape.

honestly, i feel like nezha deserves better in lmk he's basically shown as "some guy who's kinda there but doesn't really pose a threat and is easily defeated" and it doesn't really feel fair, considering the fact that all of his screen time basically consists of him getting his ass beat and sure, some of my favorite characters i'd love to see get sucker punched, but the thing is being inherently shown as weak only works if then the character reacts to that dynamic which leads to development and angst opportunities, while with nezha, he's just kinda. there. only time his injuries affected him was s4. come on 😭 (hopefully that made sense)

Question for the actor au :

Do Jing and Nezha have better relationship like in Nezha 19? Since that seems to be where the canon show is headed?

Answering this question took way longer than we expected, and we are sorry about that, work, school and sentimental stuff got in our way, but now it is easier to handle it, so here we go!

Ok so, before we start, we have a confession to make, we didn't see the Nezha 19 movie until now, so what did we do? INVESTIGATED! Also, just for the record, the Nezha-Jing relationship wouldn't be seen until later in the AU (More or less at the end of Act 4 and the start of Act 5, and even then, the AU is Shadowpeach-centered, just so you are aware)

With respect to the relationship/dynamic that they are going to have this time...

The Yin family is pretty related to the scenic arts, to the point that Jing's father (and Nezha's grandpa) is the person that acts as the Jade emperor.

Jing and his wife decide to put Nezha in acting and singing classes since he was a toddler, and once he got older, he decides on his own to study and work as an actor, just like his father, why? Well... For admiration, the one that he felt every time that he saw him acting, the dedication and passion on every role, putting his soul and heart on each of them.

When Nezha was younger, Jing used to help him with his acting classes, showing and advising him to become better and better, and with that, spending a lot of lovely moments between those two, and if you are asking, "Why does Jing have a mustache?" We have two answers for you:

On the canon:

Jing got a role that force him to let the mustache grow, and so, albums of that time are equally embarrassing for Nezha and Jing.

Outside the canon:

'CAUSE HE DESERVES IT! AHHHHHH-... ejem, a little of revenge never killed somebody

And in our AU Jing here is a... Decent father; he tries, and loves Nezha a lot, and the same goes the other way around; just the two of them aren't very good at the expressing part, but under that grumpy face is a father that is very proud of his child.

Curious fact: In the public eye, he seems like a "bad father",  again, for his grumpy face and quite cold attitude, and, in part, that's why they were reached out and cast in those roles.

Rin makes me so sad because she never truly lived. Her literary narrative was always to end in tragedy from the first page. She grew up as an orphan and was abused/used by her foster parents. They were willing to marry her off for their own goals and to avoid that Rin studied so hard to get into Sinegard (even mutilating herself) and went straight into war. She was used by everyone around her for being a Speerly and was only ever seen as a weapon or something less than human because of her skin tone and heritage. She never had a first true kiss (minus when Nezha saved her underwater) nor did she even lose her virginity- small pleasures she was never allowed to experience. Her view of love was all over the place because she didn’t know any better. She thought she loved Altan yet he abused her and was fraying at the edges as his sanity plummeted. She was betrayed by Nezha at one of her most vulnerable moments. I just think of Rin and I want to cry because she deserved so much more but it could never happen.

With a bit of imagination, YunBing (Li Yunxiang x Ao Bing in New Gods: Nezha Reborn) can have a relationship like Shangmei Oubing. They already have the necessary parts:

Ao Bing got his spine ripped out twice—first by Nezha, second time Yunxiang

Nezha in this iteration is particularly aggressive and cruel

Although Nezha has reincarnated into Li Yunxiang, they're still sort of separate identities

My idea is, a high-ranking deity brings Ao Bing back as a star god. He's tasked with helping Yunxiang, and Ao Guang's soul is used as leverage to keep him in line. Ao Bing gains a new spine, but it's made out of an unstable material that will doom him if he ever changes into his dragon state.

When Ao Bing meets Yunxiang again on the mortal plane, they still hate each other. Ao Bing hates that he's forced to serve Yunxiang, whereas Yunxiang thinks Ao Bing doesn't deserve to be brought back to life. And then there's Nezha.

Since Yunxiang can use Nezha's powers, it's only fair that Nezha can take over Yunxiang's body once in a while. When Nezha is in control, Yunxiang's hair lengthens, breaks out of his ponytail, and becomes two flame-shaped space buns. His eye color changes. His voice stays the same but takes on Nezha's tone. He wears Yunxiang's jacket differently, too.

Ao Bing has a vitriolic relationship with Yunxiang, but he's completely intimidated by Nezha because this time, he can't fight him without risking his and his father's life. Nezha knows this and takes great delight in bullying Ao Bing (that's where the Shangmei Oubing flavor comes in). However, Yunxiang is against picking on the weak, and he wrestles back control whenever he thinks Nezha is going too far. At first, Ao Bing says he doesn't want Yunxiang's pity, but Yunxiang asks what's wrong with that? What's wrong with needing help and giving it? This leads to Ao Bing unpacking his upbringing—how he felt he deserved his father mistreating and neglecting him, and his own angst about never being able to earn Ao Guang's respect while alive, or even his love (or so Ao Bing thinks). Still, Ao Bing wants to save Ao Guang's soul, kind of as a way to repay his metal spine. Yunxiang, having daddy issues of his own, can empathize a little bit. From then on, their interactions gradually become more civil.

Unfortunately, Nezha really enjoys having a body to control, and he figures out that when Yunxiang goes to sleep, Nezha can take over without a fight. And when Nezha uses Yunxiang's body while he sleeps, he wakes up tired, which makes him weaker to resisting Nezha. The one who puts a stop to this is Ao Bing, who has become more self-assured thanks to Yunxiang. He stands up to Nezha and calls him out on his unrestrained violence. Ao Bing can't fight him, but he points out, if Nezha goes too far, he could very well cause a situation like Ao Guang threatening Chentang Pass; Nezha had limits, too, even if he won't admit it. After that, Nezha angrily relinquishes control back to Yunxiang, who was asleep when this happened. Ao Bing catches him and carries Yunxiang back to bed, carefully laying him on the mattress before covering him with a duvet.

Ever since that happened, YunBing get along a lot better. They're not besties, but they're more than civil and less hesitant to show they care about each other. Nezha pops up sometimes. He just teases Ao Bing now, like calling him "Ao Bing 哥哥 (big brother)", which makes Ao Bing flustered. Yunxiang thinks it's funny and also calls him that from time to time.

Sadly, all good things have to come to an end. During the final arc, a bridge is needed to get the team to a crucial position. Ao Bing transforms into a dragon and stretches himself across the two points (a reference to this retelling of the Investiture of the Gods). As a result, his entire body turns to stone in an instant. Everyone crosses him, and Yunxiang stays on the edge, calling for Ao Bing to come back, but nothing happens. Yunxiang is forced to move on. Once the mission is completed, Yunxiang returns to Ao Bing, still hoping he'll come back. Instead, Ao Guang's spirit comes to greet him. He explains Ao Bing's sacrifice was recognized by the heavens. His soul has passed on, and now Ao Guang's soul is allowed to as well. Ao Bing will reincarnate, Ao Guang promises before leaving. Yunxiang sheds a tear as he kneels down and pats Ao Bing's stone corpse. He whispers a promise to find him again in the next life.

Holy crap! I can only imagine how the Stalwarts are dealing with all this.

You mentioned that they have been keeping an eye on Wukong all these years. Did they know about the mysterious Stone Egg their King took in before his disappearance, or did Wukong keep it secret?

Did they know about the fight that cost their King his memories, or did they find him after the fact once they were informed that he disappeared?

If so then why haven’t they come forward? Why haven’t they said anything? Why are they only here when Peaches already has a new life and family? Why are they only here when he’s having a full blown existential crisis? This is what’s going through Peaches’ head as he’s essentially being info dumped to by these strangers who claim to know him.

No doubt Peaches is feeling so overwhelmed by all of this. So, Dadsy puts his foot down and shoos everyone away because he can see that his eldest is seconds away from a breakdown.

I feel like, despite his grumpy exterior, Pigsy is the more emotionally sensitive parent. He’s not and did not start out perfect, but he has learned read his boys like the back of his hand. Peaches, particularly, he found quite easy to read and understand his quirks and habits. He doesn’t know how, or why they sometimes made his feel strangely nostalgic. Oh, well 🤷

+ bonus anon ask;

The Stalwarts were def panicking when they checked in on their King and found evidence of a scuffle. They knew he had been tending to an odd rock for a while, but they had assumed at first it was a case of him brooding like a hen over a regular stone.

An alarm is sounded off across the Realms when the King fails to return that morning.

Eventually it's Nezha who finds a patch of destroyed woodland just outside of Megapolis, along with scraps of the King's nightclothes and pieces of shell-like rock...

The Stalwarts had debated for a while over whether or not to walk in and claim "Peaches" as their missing brother, but after seeing him with a newborn Stone Monkey and a pair of his Pilgrim brothers reborn, they decided it was better for him to heal where he couldn't be harassed by Heaven or Diyu.

They also made sure to keep the *Amnesia-thing* to themselves. The Celestial Realm nor Wukong's enemies need to know about that. They had found the smell of a suspicious-smelling liquid on the King's clothing scraps.

The Stalwarts take care of the island with it's King away, driving out villains and humans alike to preserve the Monkey King's home.

The four also keep a close eye on their King and future Prince. A gym teacher here, a kind granny there, a grumpy regular here, a market stall owner etc... just to make sure they stay out of world-ending trouble.

Their little brother deserves a happy childhood after all he's been through.

They do reveal themselves however, after the chaos of New Years throws Peaches/Sun Wukong's condition into the limelight. He's not just some kid claiming to be Sun Wukong's successor - he IS Sun Wukong with his memories stolen!

They help his adoptive family with the cleanup around the city, and formally introduce themselves as Peaches' *first* found family. There's a minor panic that they've come to "take him away", but the older monkeys quickly calm that fear - they've been around for a while, and have no interest in ripping their brother from his present troop. They explain their side of the story, and how they felt it would be a kindness to let their little brother live happily and for his little miracle to have a normal childhood. Had they come forward, he would have been immediately recognised and targeted for his condition.

Peaches does get a little overwhelmed by all this lore though, and the Stalwarts take the cue to leave from a concerned Pigsy, promising to continue protecting him and his family from harm. Pigsy appreciates their ability to read the room (unlike Tang, who's been interviewing them for the past hour or so).

They do however joke that Pigsy is now their Dadsy too since he's adopted their baby brother! And MK is now the "baby-est" brother of their little family to spoil! Pigsy grumbles a little at that, but doesn't object. XD
