Unleash the Low-End Power: The Nelson Subwoofer and Stand Combo for Studio-Grade Bass in Your Australian Home
For audiophiles in Speakers Australia seeking to elevate their listening experience, achieving powerful, clear bass can be a challenge, particularly with bookshelf speakers. At AudioMagic, we understand the importance of a balanced soundscape, and that's where the Nelson subwoofer and stand combination comes in. This innovative solution offers a space-saving design perfect for smaller rooms while delivering robust bass performance, tailored specifically for mini monitors.
Beyond the Bookshelf: Bridging the Bass Gap with Mini Monitors
Bookshelf speakers, also known as mini monitors, are a popular choice for their compact size and clear mid-range sound. However, they often lack the ability to reproduce deep bass frequencies effectively. This can leave your music sounding thin and incomplete.
Introducing the Nelson Subwoofer and Stand Combo: The Missing Piece for Your Audio System
The Nelson subwoofer and stand combo from AudioMagic is designed to seamlessly integrate with your existing mini monitor setup, filling the sonic gap and delivering powerful, room-filling bass:
Tailored for Mini Monitors: The Nelson subwoofer is specifically tuned to complement the sonic characteristics of popular mini monitor models like the Harbeth P3ESR and BBC LS3/5A. This ensures a smooth and cohesive listening experience, where the subwoofer seamlessly blends with your existing speakers.
Robust Bass Performance: Equipped with a high-quality driver and amplifier, the Nelson subwoofer delivers deep, impactful bass without distortion. Experience the full power and detail of your music, from the subtlest nuances to the most thunderous basslines.
Space-Saving Design: Traditional subwoofers can take up valuable floor space, especially in smaller rooms. The Nelson subwoofer cleverly integrates with a dedicated stand, elevating your mini monitors to the optimal listening height while housing the subwoofer within the stand's base. This compact design maximizes space efficiency without compromising performance.

something about the tiktok ban that i haven't really seen people here talking about is the experience of tiktok users not from the usa, which was, as far as i can tell, on the whole, very positive. it was actually really nice to, for a short period of time, be on a major social media network and able to interact with people across the world without usamericans constantly inserting themselves into every conversation.
usamericans kind of take over people's fyp regardless of where you're from. this is partly to do with the fact that the creators fund is only available to usamericans so most of the shitty content farms are from the us. then there's also the cultural aspect of the fact that being a citizen of the most powerful empire in the world is a significant privilege, and also a privilege that 99% of usamericans are seemingly unable to acknowledge, plus the us centrism and exceptionalism, plus the constant need to cast themselves as the underdog, and, well. it's annoying.
so, like. everything of what i've seen (which is not to say that other opinions don't exist, just that i haven't seen them) is that it was really nice when the usamericans were gone, and it kind of sucks that they're back.
#tiktok ban#<- for those who are (very justifiably) sick of hearing about this#anyway also important to note that 99% of what ive seen has been from europeans canadians and australians#and i can guess that for people from asian african and south american countries it was probably just their feed being taken over by#other annoying english speakers rather than usamericans#and the 'commonwealth tiktok' thing (especially the fact that its referring to specifically uk canada and australia#and NO OTHER COMMONWEALTH COUNTRIES)#is uh. not great!#so im not saying like. magical utopia where everyone was equal#but im just saying that. idk there is no global major social media that isn't overrun with usamericans#and for about a day there was#anyway would be cool to hear from other non-usamericans!#especially if you're not european nor from from a european settler state#question is there a specific word/phrase that would include the citizens of countries like the usa/canada/australia/etc#but not the indigenous people of those places?#and no just saying white doesnt work because in those countries non-indigenous minority ethnic groups are still there under#the authority of a colonial government#and also im talking about privilege along the axis of nationality here as opposed to race/ethnicity#and the question of nationality gets complicated when we're talking about specifically the indigenous people of#an area currently controlled by a settled colonial state#ALSO also in regards to the fact that the whole thing was a trump propaganda stunt#and that there's now censorship of things trump doesnt like#its yet another example of how everyone else in the world gets directly affected by us politics#despite the fact that in this case the social media isnt even a us company#and not to say that it doesnt also suck for usamericans#many of whom voted for harris#but also. at least you got a vote.#the rest of us just have to live with the fact that whoever you guys elect will have a direct impact on our lives#and usamericans just don't experience this. like e.g. british elections have no impact on your lives#but your elections have a massive impact on our lives (and even worse for countries in the global south)

「You're thinking 'people from Kansai are stingy' aren't you. ... Actually it's just me who's personally stingy.」
literally me but with uk/europe/whatever distinction americans decide to assign me
#very inaccurrate translation but reckon thats the gist of what its saying#also her dialogues so hard to understand#often ill put something in google translate and it wont know but way more with her#dunno about japanese regional stereotypes at all other than 'kansaiben is weird' which it is and the annoying escalater thing#anyway like europe is definitely stereotyped as stingy and being where ive been like uk is europe which it is anyway but perspective etc#like i tend to forget sometimes people from america and stuff get confused when i talk about 'europe' meaning the not here bit#ive more heard the stereotype that scottish people are stingy not whole uk or specifically england but like i dunno?#when your in a different continent the specific stereotype isnt really relevent and to them im just whatever especially#non english speakers im just european#anyway im just stingy cause im stingy not cause if where im from#though i happen to think all americans are way not stingey enough and weird about money#its weird though even amoung students stingyness is way more socially acceptable in uk/parts of europe maybe australia and nz i dunno#but like americans and japanese people for example tend to not be so much like that#america is like really weird though like the extent theyll act like its shameful to not want to buy expensive stuff for no reason#im not saying being poor is never looked down on here but among normal people its considered normal to not want to burn money#and like not being able to afford expensive stuff? like thats totally normal? i dont live in a bubble?#most people i know are middle class or lower middle class like a lot of them are anyway#though to be fair im mostly talking about americans from what ive gathered from the internet though in real life they are less likely to sa#somethings too expensive or whatever#its funny this is about a regional identity but i compared it to my national or even larger scale one#well cause when you go somewhere else it becomes that often my identity even in my mind is just westerner or non american or english speake

It is funny sometimes seeing people get uppity about translators not doing exactly 1:1 translations of media, whether it be a book or a game or a series- and I get it from the perspective of say, 90s and 2000s anime adaptations that completely altered plot points, completely nixed entire lines of dialogue or alter characters enough that they were barely reminiscent of the original- think Sailor Moon and how the US dub censored anything gay in it. Those complaints I understand, completely.
And then with the advent of translating tools sometimes a company has pretty clearly been cheap or lazy and has just slapped it into an online translator and hodge podged it together, losing a lot of important details along the way, just to save on paying a proper translator and that is something I find absolutely shitty and extremely fair to point out- especially when it's a big corporation.
But the flipside people seem to forget is that sometimes there's not an exact word to translate to. Sometimes translations done to T will lose the humour or the feeling of the original so the translator will change it just enough to still get the expression across in a similar way as the original without bogging it down or losing its charm- localising something isn't always a bad thing as long as it overall stays true to the original. Translation is an art at the end of the day, sometimes whats on the page needs a little extra help to really pop, I have a lot of respect for the people who put in the effort.
#its like how when a novel gets translated the usually put the translators name on the cover too#bc sure they didnt create it but oftentimes they are /recreating/ in a way where they are helping to make it as bright as it should be#like i always remember reading this chinese novel that got translated by fans online and the difference between someone doing a 1 to 1#translation vs the person keeping everythinf important but altering the dialouge to be less stunted was wild#one was vaguely confusing and very flat to read and the other captured the story much better#bc the seocnd person was putting in the time to really express what was written#instead of just translating flatly#its like how theres whole sayings here in australia that even other english speakers dont get but someone can go 'oh they mean like x'#and then people will be like oh i get that!#i also liked when they'd put essentially a western variant of a phrase or joke in bc it matches in a similar way to the mandarin#but then in the notes theyd go into detail about what the direct translation was- what it meant- where it originated#so you still saw the direct translation and you got to learn something about x y or z thing#without it being awkwardly explained in depth#bc ultimately fiction can get bogged down very fast#so yeah thats my friday tangent#when people work hard to truly express whats being said rather than only show whats being said- i appreciate it 🫰#translation#localization

As much as I complain about being lonely, I do have to admit that I have the best boss/job ever.
I’ve been working part time at this acupuncture clinic that primarily focuses on women’s health and fertility for the past…. 5 years I think? Meaning that I’ve watched and helped this company grow into a successful safe space for the women in our area. We take a lot pride in providing care for our moms and tbh educating them about their own bodies! Bc! As a society! We don’t focus on women’s health! A lot of the tips and advice you hear about health caters mostly to men. Women’s bodies are in constant flux due the hormones, cycles, pregnancy, menopause, PERI Menopause, ECT! … and buddy… everyone’s body is unique on top of that. It’s easy to get lost.
Women/period having people need to have medical practitioners who share their struggle in existing in these bodies. Bc who else would understand or be better at guiding them? Anyway!
Our boss treats us (5) to sushi almost every Wednesday. (We actually treat the woman who owns the sushi biz down the street from us too so 😂 it works… she sometimes joins our sushi meetings lol!) During these sushi meeting we’re constantly looking for ways to improve not just our business practice but the ways that we can make it easier for women to have access to our info and services. Women need these third place spaces. Places to hang that’s not just about work or being alone at home. We’re trying to foster a community here.
And if they can’t afford it well… our boss gives low income folks a hefty %80 percent discount if they need it. Because everyone deserves care!!! I’m really proud to work here. I really am.
#it’s not perfect by any means#but it’s def healed my concept of woman and femininity and all that#my boss is leaving for Australia today so this is going to be our last sushi meeting for awhile#Im busy translating all our health guides into Spanish so non-English speakers can still use our hand outs#and it might be the hormones but a preg patient started crying when she heard that our boss would be gone for the next few weeks#😂 she’s just really loved here#and with good reason#bitch we even have complimentary tampons#and ovulation and preg tests fo FREE#bc you shouldn’t be paying for these things!!!! they SHOULD be free!!! we pay pennies for boxes and boxes of these#personal

How to pick a Bluetooth speaker for hiking | Ecoxgear Australia
Find out what features you should look for when choosing a good portable speaker for your hikes.
Hiking is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban life and enjoy the wonders of nature.
A solo hike can be great when you want some alone time, but it can get a bit lonely sometimes. That said, listening to your favourite songs while you hike can make your outdoor adventure a lot more fun and you won’t even feel the time go by!
To play music on your hike, you’ll need a good portable speaker, but not any speaker will do—you’ll want a good Bluetooth speaker.
What to look for in a Bluetooth speaker for hiking
Here are some features you should look for when choosing a speaker for your hiking trips.
Long battery life : You could spend hours out in the wilderness without realising it when you’re hiking. To keep you entertained, you should choose a portable Bluetooth speaker for hiking that features at least 7 hours of playtime.
Nature-proofing : The weather can change without warning in the wilderness and you have a high chance of encountering rain. The Bluetooth speaker you take with you should be water-resistant and have at least an IP67 rating.
Great audio quality : The sounds of nature can get a bit loud and this might make it difficult to listen to your favourite tracks. So, pick a Bluetooth speaker that boasts excellent sound quality to improve your listening experience.

At ECOXGEAR, we make some of the toughest and most powerful portable Bluetooth speakers in Australia. Our bluetooth soundbars are designed for anyone who loves the outdoors and good music!
