One thing I consistently notice with the ancient alien type conspiracy theorists is, they have no comprehension of how big space and stuff in space is. Absolutely none whatsoever. They don't understand that it's all just so big that claims like "nukes could turn our planet into gravel" and "aliens came here to mine our gold" are absolutely preposterous notions. Like seriously folks, look into this; maybe look up some "scale of the universe" videos or something - but please, just please, try to wrap your heads around how absolutely ginormously huge space is.

You ever have to pause a YouTube video about space because it made you experience genuine terror and existential dread from trying to contemplate it?

All The Worlds We Know (so far)
No exoplanets (planets not in this solar system) had been confirmed with data until the 1990s, although everyone thought they must exist. We have since found 100s of exponents, most ... very large.
Nearly all of the exoplanets we have discovered are in the little circle on this map.

having good & true friends will literally save and protect you in a million unfathomable ways. like okay we have written so many times about lovers. but the way a platonic friend laughs and cries with you. the way they hold your hand at 14 years old and at 34. the way they keep a little silver tie to you, touching base over and over and over. how you can go years without talking, only to re-meet and discover: oh shit! you're still cool!
there are people who have been in my life for more than half of it, and i have loved every version of them. do you know how fucking beautiful that is. yeah love will save the world. but the way friends love you is gonna save the you.

There's literally an entire article on Memory Alpha about how fucked the warp-speed scale on Star Trek is. And an entire entry on TV Tropes about this phenomenon throughout sci-fi.
You are not immune to busted math.
speculative fiction writers i am going to give you a really urgent piece of advice: don't say numbers. don't give your readers any numbers. how heavy is the sword? lots. how old is that city? plenty. how big is the fort? massive. how fast is the spaceship? not very, it's secondhand.
the minute you say a number your readers can check your math and you cannot do math better than your most autistic critic. i guarantee. don't let your readers do any math. when did something happen? awhile ago. how many bullets can that gun fire? trick question, it shoots lasers, and it shoots em HARD.
you are lying to people for fun. if you let them do math at you the lie collapses and it's no fun anymore.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's peanuts compared to space - Douglas Adams

Watching star trek episodes that don't get how vastly big space is. It's like they just didn't read Douglas Adams.
"It's expanding at 8000 cubic kilometers per hour!" That's a surface moving at 20kmph. That's like a leisurely bike ride.
"We're 200,000 kilometers away from the edge!" That's like half the distance to the moon. I think that's like three seconds with the impulse engines.

Space is big, and epic, and amazing.
fucks me up that by total coincidence the sun and moon's size difference is exactly matched to their difference in distance from us, thus making our beautiful total solar eclipses where you can see the silver threads of the sun's corona possible because the moon just covers the sun completely
The stars (literally) aligned just right for this experience to be possible. It's likely that aliens don't have this
