I have really mixed feelings about the small proportion of F/F fiction (original or fanfic), because yeah sure, people have their desires, they should write what they want, I get it. It all works out when I hear it from person to person. But somehow the logic only ever applies in one direction? "There are more male protagonists because men only care about male characters! Women also mostly care about male characters, because that's the majority of characters they get!" And then somehow we also yet kvetch when men write female characters (because it's incorrectly or something, nevermind if women are writing male characters correctly). Why don't we expect gay men to feel compelled only by femslash for the same reasons (but gender swapped) as the lesbian slashers/fujoshi? All of those very rational justifications are applied selectively, "for me for not for thee," and it all only leads to "idk I just don't wanna write femslash", for Reasons. Do we get to call them microaggressions yet?

No, you don't get to call other people's fantasy life a microaggression.

That is indeed "for me but not for thee" in the sense that you get to want what you want but other people aren't supposed to follow their id.

Do you also police gay men who spend too much time on drag and obsessing over female divas? That's an actual real world behavior that's somewhat equivalent. It frequently goes unchallenged, at least by progressives, because men are allowed to do whatever they want with chick stuff, while women are "stealing" if they dare to stray into dude stuff.

(God, I've seen so much more policing of drag kings being ~problematic~ for acting out stereotypical gender than policing of drag queens for the same. It's nuts!)

Fujoshi are often queer, but it's absurd to think we're mostly lesbians. We tend to be bi or asexual women with gender stuff going on, though there is a mix of everybody, including lesbians. There are also a lot of AFAB non-women who get lumped in with us. On the rare occasions I find a man willing to admit to being a similar demographic, he usually does like gender play in his hobbies and entertainment. It's just that men face even more pressure than women do to fit into tidy categories. Bi women get told we're whores. Bi men are told they don't exist.

Yes, I know plenty of lesbians who write more m/m than f/f, but in the big picture of all of AO3 or all of fanfic or all of media, they aren't the demographic driving these numbers. They're vastly outnumbered by the bi women, the asexual women, and the straight and gnc women.

The men we should be looking at as an equivalent aren't cis gay men but bicurious soy boys and the like.

Do most of us fujoshi object to equivalent men doing an equivalent thing? I've seen it sometimes, and I agree it's hypocritical. I'd like us to afford men the same ability to play and take on identities in their art. I remember enjoying Ranma fandom back in the day and reading quite a lot of f/f that was probably by men. It had some of that same sense of distance and fantasy that I so enjoy in m/m aimed at fujoshi. (I do consume some by-cis-gay, for-cis-gay content, both m/m and f/f, but it's often too literal and too bound up in specific named identities for my taste.)

On average, the people I see complaining most about men producing f/f material are the same people who think that because I have a clit, I should center my life around women exclusively. In other words, people spouting radfem ideology, perhaps on purpose or perhaps without realizing.

I do agree that some of the ways of expressing a lack of desire to write femslash can get pretty douchey. I want us to move away from some of the less accurate ones like "There are no compelling female characters" because of this.

But the reason for all these jerkass explanations is that women and people perceived as women who like m/m are constantly asked to explain ourselves. These aren't usually microaggressions: they're openly hostile. People get defensive and try to answer with important-sounding reasons about identity and pain because society at large won't accept "I like this" as the true explanation.

Pleasure is never enough of a reason for a woman to do something.

Let’s remember that Gorou is actually a pretty calm and serious guy.

So I think their first meeting would have been very chaotic for him.

After all, he would be facing a hyperactive person and wouldn’t really know how to handle it.

But let’s be honest, Itto is adorable, and Gorou would have grown fond of him quickly.

Itto is someone who’s easy to like, and Gorou would have found him endearing.

Así que pienso que su primer encuentro habría sido muy caótico para él.

He heard about him through Kokomi and became very curious to meet him.

For the first time, he tried to restrain his impulses.

He would have insisted on training with him that day until he succeeded.

And he wouldn’t have regretted it at all.

Especially when they ended up chatting peacefully, making Gorou relax and laugh at his antics.

Itto knew he would return to Watatsumi many more times.

Todos conocemos como es Itto, cuando piensa en hacer algo, nada ni nadie puede pararlo.

Y eso mismo pasó.

Escuchó hablar de él por medio de Kokomi y le dio mucha curiosidad conocerlo.

Cuando lo vio le dieron ganas de acaricar sus orejitas, pero se controló para no molestarlo.

Por primera vez intentó controlar sus impulsos.

Habría insistido en entrenar con él ese día hasta conseguirlo.

Y no se habría arrepentido para nada.

Sobre todo cuando acabaron charlando tranquilamente, consiguiendo que Gorou se relajase y se riera de sus tonterías.

Itto sabía que volvería a Watatsumi muchas más veces.

Activities they’d like to do together

ENGLISH

I feel like the thing they would do together the most at the beginning of their friendship would be training.

In the sense that Itto would crash Gorou’s troop training sessions and train with them.

Gorou was surprised at first, but he quickly got used to him.

Especially because training sessions were much more fun with Itto around.

He could relax more than usual, and that was a huge relief for him.

Over time, they would end up spending time together after training, just sitting on the beach and chatting.

I feel like Itto would have taken Gorou to hangouts with his gang.

(Especially after hearing from Kokomi that Gorou barely had time for himself.)

I feel like Gorou would have been shy at first, but after a while, he would have gotten comfortable with the group.

After all, the worst one was Itto, and he was already more than used to him.

Once they started dating, Itto would steal Gorou away after training so they could spend time together.

After Gorou’s work, I feel like they would just chill on the beach, relaxing.

They would end up having a little picnic there practically every day.

On their days off, they would go together to Inazuma City to try food from different places or just walk around.

Gorou doesn’t usually go out much, and Itto would love to show him new things.

They would be that adorable couple you always see at the same food stalls, looking just as in love as they did on the first day.

Siento que lo que más harían juntos, al principio de su relación de amistad, sería entrenar juntos.

En el sentido en el que Itto invadiría las sesiones de entrenamiento de la tropa de Gorou y entrenaría con ellos.

A Gorou le sorprendió al principio pero se acostumbró rápidamente a él.

Sobre todo porque las sesiones de entrenamiento eran mucho más divertidas con Itto allí.

Podía relajarse más que de costumbre y eso le aliviaba bastante.

Con el tiempo acabarían pasando el tiempo juntos después de los entrenamientos, sentados en la playa simplemente charlando juntos.

Siento que Itto lo habría llevado a quedadas con sus amigos de la pandilla.

(Sobre todo después de escuchar de Kokomi que Gorou apenas tenía tiempo para él)

Siento que Gorou habría estado tímido al principio, pero con el rato se habrá acomodado al grupo.

Al final el peor era Itto y ya estaba más que acostumbrado a él.

Cuando hubieran empezado a salir, Itto se robaría a Gorou después de los entrenamientos para que pudieran pasar el tiempo juntos.

Después del trabajo de Gorou siento que estarían tranquilos en la playa descansando.

Acabarían haciendo un pequeño picnic allí prácticamente todos los días.

Los días libres, se irían juntos a la Ciudad de Inazuma, a probar comida de distintos lugares o simplemente pasear.

Gorou no suele estar por ahí y a Itto le encantaría enseñarle cosas nuevas.

Serían la típica pareja adorable que siempre ves en los mismos puestos de comida y que se ven igual de bien que el primer día.

Caring for each other when sick or wound tending

I feel like most of the time, the one who would need to be taken care of is Itto.

The poor guy gets into a lot of trouble and fights, ending up injured all the time, and Gorou would take care of him.

I can imagine Itto showing up to Gorou, smiling nervously as Gorou lets out a small growl.

At that very moment, he gets a proper scolding.

I can picture them sitting together while Gorou treats his wounds and scolds him at the same time.

The times Gorou gets hurt would be more serious—Itto would be really worried and nervous, but he would do his best to stay calm and help him in the best way possible.

He would be extremely careful and affectionate with him—he never wants to see him hurt again. <3

If they were sick (with a cold or the flu), each case would be a little different at first.

If Gorou were the one who was sick, he would pretend he wasn’t so he could keep working.

But Itto knows him well and would “kidnap” him so he wouldn’t have to work until he recovered.

(We all know he would send a message to Kokomi, and she would be more than happy that Gorou is finally resting.)

Itto would be super dramatic as a nurse, thinking he’s going to die every second.

He sneezes? He panics. He coughs? He panics.

You can imagine the sick one trying to calm down the nurse.

A real show, honestly.

But Itto is really good at taking care of Gorou, and he would recover very well and quickly.

On the other hand, if Itto were the sick one, then things would be different.

I can see Itto being dramatic, acting as if he’s dying from a cold.

And Gorou would be a very patient and calm nurse.

He would know how to take care of Itto and calm his nerves.

They would both be very affectionate (regardless of who is the sick one and who is the nurse).

ESPAÑOL

Siento que la mayoría de veces, de quien habría que cuidar sería de Itto.

El pobre se mete en muchos líos y peleas, acabaría con heridas cada dos por tres y Gorou se ocuparía de cuidarlo.

Puedo imaginarme a Itto llegando con Gorou, sonriendo nervioso mientras ve como Gorou gruñe levemente.

En ese mismo momento le cae una buena regañina.

Puedo imaginármelos a los dos sentados mientras Gorou lo cura y lo regaña a la vez.

Las veces que Gorou se lastimase serían más serias, Itto estaría muy preocupado y nervioso, pero haría todo lo posible por calmarse y ayudarlo de la mejor forma.

Sería extremadamente cuidadoso y cariñoso con él, no quiere verlo herido nunca más <3

Si fuera el caso de estar enfermos (resfriados o con gripe) cada caso sería un poco distinto al principio.

En el caso de que Gorou fuera quien estuviera enfermo, fingiría que no lo esta para seguir trabajando.

Pero Itto lo conoce bien y lo "secuestraría" para que no tuviera que trabajar hasta recuperarse.

(Todos sabemos que le enviaría un mensaje a Kokomi y ella estaría más que encantada de que Gorou por fin descansase).

Itto sería muy dramático como enfermero, pensando que se va a morir a cada momento.

¿Estornuda? Se asusta. ¿Tose? Se asusta.

Puedes imaginarte al enfermo intentando calmar al enfermero.

Un verdadero show vaya.

Pero Itto es muy bueno cuidando de Gorou y se recuperaría muy bien y rápido.

Por otro lado, si hablamos de que Itto es el enfermo, entonces la cosa es distinta.

Me veo a Itto siendo un dramático, actuando como si se fuera a morir por el refriado.

Y Gorou sería un enfermero muy paciente y tranquilo.

Sabría como cuidar a Itto y a calmar sus nervios.

Los dos serían muy cariñosos (independientemente de quien sea el enfermo y quien el enfermero).

Si buscan a alguien que enseñe defensa, Dorcas es la más habilidosa de su clase (junto a Alice), se graduó con honores de auror, era de las mejores brujas de su generación en Hogwarts y canonicamente Voldemort la tuvo que matar él mismo. Además se le da bien enseñar.

Para ella busco alguna chica con la que haya tenido algo de una noche. ¿Por qué? Porque me di cuenta de que todas sus relaciones son demasiado hetero y Dorcas es bisexual. Obviamente tiene que ser alguien con quien se lleve bien, no puristas.

HESTIA JONES.

25 años, sangre pura, estudiante de sanadora en San Mungo (ya casi acaba su carrera, está en el último semestre, su especialidad no me la pregunten porque ni yo sé) heterosexual, soltera pero sigue amando al Sirius Black :(. Estuvo en Ravenclaw.

Hestia es buena para cualquier cosa que involucre medicina o emociones. Si necesitan a alguien que enseñe de primeros auxilios a su personaje o con quien se pueda desahogar, o buscan una amiguita, ahí está.

GIDEON PREWETT.

26 años, sangre pura, casi dueño de un bar porque es socio del dueño y bartender del mismo lugar, bisexual, novio de Daisy Hookum. Estuvo en Hufflepuff, en el equipo de Quidditch y milagrosamente se graduó.

Gideon puede ser la burla de alguien, okay no. Normalmente tiene muchos enemigues, pero igual si buscan un enemigo, Gideon tiene muchas razones para que lo sea. Igual amigues aunque es bien desconfiadote. Es una persona sumamente leal y confiable. También conoce muchísimo de defensa, así que puede enseñarle a quien desee. Está abierto a cualquier relación, técnicamente, excepto amigues con beneficies porque pues ya está casi casado.

De momento no busco ninguna conexión o trama en particular con él.

AGATHA FIGG.

26 años, mestiza (es adoptada), está tratando de construir su propio albergue para gatos porque en el que trabajaba cerró por la falta de personal y dinero (así que en su casa viven como unos 30 gatos), asexual, soltera pero ama aún a Fabian. Estuvo en Hufflepuff.

Si quieren a alguien que perturbe a su personaje, Agatha es la opción, eso sí: es distinta de lo que era previamente, ahora comprende mejor las emociones humanas y es más empática. Claramente no está abierta a nada romántico. Amistades con ella me gustaría desarrollarlas desde cero. Si a alguien le sirve para algo, i'm in. Cualquier cosa sobre gatos, ella ayuda.

Me gustaría que se volviera amix de algún morti y luego ese morti en el jijijaja torture a Fabian frente a ella, esto es importante para la trama de Agatha y Fabian como pareja. Gracias.

25 años, mestiza, trabaja en la tienda de música del Callejón Diagon (que yo misma me inventé porque canonicamente no existe), asexual, soltera pero ama con fervor a Ivan. Estuvo en Hufflepuff y era super popular.

Glenda sirve muy bien para amistades de cualquier tipo. También para enemistades si sus personajes odian la felicidad. En realidad cae bien en cualquier relación excepto roomies (porque vive con sus padres) y cosas románticas.

AURORA ROWLE.

25 años, sangre pura, sin ocupación alguna porque sus padres le prohibieron trabajar (o hacer cualquier cosa, pobre morra loquita), heterosexual, según "novia" del rabastan (aunque es mentira que sólo ellos dos saben que es mentira) y ama a Lorcan pero ni ella se ha dado cuenta. Purista. Estuvo en Slytherin.

Simplemente es alguien odiable si tienen un personaje purista. Ella no tiene enemigues y tiene tres amigues, pero podemos ver como vamos desarrollando una amistad o enemistad si desean. No la veo en ningún otro contexto de relación.

Aether es malvado, así que no tiene amixes más allá de quizá tres en los que realmente confía. Lo veo más en relaciones negativas y muy posiblemente en algo de una noche.

The truth is that the topic of asexuality is interesting, I try to comment with respect, in fact someone commented something to me just for mentioning that maybe I could ship Lilith with another character, but I respect that the creator has made it clear that she is asexual.

Regarding Ford, I don't remember if it was a headcanon or something confirmed by the creator, but I still feel like he could become asexual, since we haven't seen him really interested in anyone in the series, I don't know if there is information in the official diaries about some past relationships, although very straight I don't think it's because of the Bill Ford issue, if Ford discovered shortly after that he actually only feels attraction towards intellect, which in fact does exist, it's more understandable, in fact he would be sapiosexual and that is half confirmed in "Bill's book"

La verdad es interesante el tema de la asexualidad, intento comentar con respeto, de hecho alguien me comento algo por solo mencionar que tal vez podría shippear a Lilith con otro personaje, pero respeto que la creadora haya dejado en claro que ella es asexual

Con respecto a Ford, no recuerdo si era un headcanon o algo confirmado por el creador, pero de igual forma siento que el podria entrar en asexualidad, ya que no hemos visto que se haya interesado realmente en alguien en la serie, desconozco si en los diarios oficiales haya informacion de algunas relaciones pasadas, auque muy hetero no creo que sea por el tema del BillFord, si Ford descubrio poco despues que en realidad solo siente atraccion hacia el intelecto, que de hecho eso si existe, es mas entendible, de hecho seria sapiosexual y eso si esta medio confirmado en "el libro de Bill"

amo a Lilith, es una gran hermana que se redimio y consigioo su final feliz, y ford es un caso interesante de estudio, ya que todo lo que es antes del raromagedon me caia muy mal, pero todo lo que pasa despues es tan maravilloso que quiero explorar eso mas adelante

My hot take is that Viktor is not ace, or more specifically, that he was never written to be. You can't write a character as asexual if you don't even know what the word means. That would be like serving me a latte with oat milk instead of soy and saying it IS soy because all of them are just Alternative Milks to you. You got the thing confused with another thing because you don't actually know anything about either of them and as such, no, I do not believe either of them informed your writing process at all.

Para les asexuales en una relación

primero que nada, puedes cambiar tu forma de sentir hacia algunas cosas y situaciones, sin que eso signifique que ya no eres asexual. También recuerda que si bien la asexualidad muchas veces se representa como la falta total de atracción sexual, hay asexuales que aún son capaces de sentir atracción sexual, esto puede ser en circunstancias específicas o hacia individuos no reales, etc. el hecho de que seas asexual simplemente significa que no experimentas atracción sexual como lo hace la mayoría de las personas, y totalmente podrías estar confundido por un tiempo y eventualmente darte cuenta de que en realidad no es lo tuyo, ¡y eso está bien! No le debes a nadie una explicación sobre por qué o cómo eres o no asexual, es algo que debe tener sentido para ti, así que si sientes que describe de alguna manera cómo te sientes la mayor parte del tiempo o incluso a veces, puedes usarlo.

Por cierto, debes considerar que existen otras formas de atracción además de la sexual, que incluyen la atracción estética (pensar que alguien es lindo) y la atracción sensual (el deseo de ser físico con una persona mediante mimos, abrazos, besos, etc., podrías incluir aquí algunas cosas que pueden verse como sexuales o ligeramente sexuales sin que lo sean realmente, tú decides), así que nuevos sentimientos por nuevas cosas no aignifican que de pronto las cosas que sabes certeza no te gustan vayan a comenzar a gustarte, y el estar bien con alguna no significa que vayas o tengas que estar bien con todas solo porque así lo parece.

Esto me lleva a mi segundo punto, aunque tu identidad es independiente de tu relación, en la práctica, puede verse afectada mientras estás en una, es muy común entre los asexuales hacer algunas concesiones por sus parejas si sienten que pueden manejarlas, y el hecho de que de alguna manera acabes disfrutando de alguna de esas cosas en cualquier forma, no te hace menos asexual, porque es un caso muy específico, y no sabes cómo podría ser fuera del contexto de tu relación actual, porque hay una razón por la cual cuestionaste y te diste cuenta de que eres asexual en primer lugar. Sé que la atracción es algo engañosa y a veces nos pone en encrucijadas y crisis que nos hacen dudar de las cosas, pero tú conoces tu identidad y es algo que debe tener sentido para ti, así que si de pronto pasa algo que te hace tener tutdas no te preocupes (tanto), lo resolverás y (si aún se siente correcto) seguirás siendo asexual!
