sovereign citizen shit is like the one form of brainrot i completely do not understand because all other conspiracy mindsets rest on not being provable or disprovable, no matter how insane it is you can do mental gymnastics to justify it but sovereign citizen stuff is like…you tell a cop “you can’t arrest me” and then he arrests you

So this Vem Miller guy believes the United States government is bullshit while also believing that Donald Trump is the savior of this country and the 2nd amendment gives him the right to travel anywhere with loaded fire arms... none of this is surpising given that he's apparently a Sovereign Citizen. Which is a political movement based around the idea that there are videogame-like secret cheat codes to USA law that one can use to get out of any trouble. Which can only be taught by uncertified legal scholars for a nominal fee. Just like how only Donald Trump can save the USA which is why everyone has to give him money...

just realized the whole sovereign citizen argument is basically verbatim the fantasy trope about everyone having a secret true name that gives people power over you and that the fae try to steal

If all countries are starting to have their own sovereign citizen movement and a whole conspiracy about their country going bankrupt and sell the people to foreign countries.
What countries are people's labor being sold to? I know conspiracies rarely make sense but this seems like an obvious flaw in their logic

Just found out about this particular iteration of "Sovereign Citizen" legalese that seems to suggest that trans people are automatically above the law because the identity we go by is different to what's on our birth certificates, and you know what - I think I can actually get behind this one!

The #1 most confusing thing about sovereign citizen mentality
"I'm not a US citizen, US laws don't apply to me!"
Tumblr media
You still have to follow the rules of places you're visiting even if you're not a citizen. Hell, you need to be even MORE careful because you're not as familiar with the rules and you may not have the same rights as citizens.
In fact, non-citizens of the US do NOT have the same protections as USAmericans while on American soil. It's in the US constitution.
Meanwhile, Canadian SovCits try to use the American constitution in Canada, as if US laws and rights apply to Canada...

Contender for state Republican Party chair is a QAnon all-star
Tumblr media
Dunklin’s belief in QAnon has played into her own custody fight with her ex-husband over their daughter. Dunklin has filed bizarre, sovereign citizen-style documents describing herself as a “Woman by the calling of Sarah.” She also sent rambling emails to her ex-husband’s attorney and her former mother-in-law about QAnon, McConnell, and Holmseth, who is himself wanted on a warrant for allegedly violating a restraining order.
Dunklin has claimed that her daughter is surveilled at all times by a U.S. Space Force ship with an invisibility cloak and said the day she received her Children’s Crusade position was one of her proudest. In July, a disheveled Dunklin appeared at family court clutching a dirty piece of women’s clothing and frightening a court employee who worried Dunklin might attack her, according to a sworn affidavit from a court clerk.

I've been doing some philosophical thinking here after reading a bunch of lame ass defense tactics that people have tried while representing themselves in court 🙄
Here me out:
Dress codes stem from a belief that an invisible man in the sky who is all knowing and all powerful didn't know that a woman he created would eat something off a tree and because an evil snake this invisible man also created told her to.
I have two concerns:
1) why aren't Christians more environmentally conscious especially when it comes to fruit trees.
2) dress codes should be banned because of religious freedom and if someone emposes their dress code belief on you, your religious freedom is being compromised.
My point:
I think literally every single fucking law can be argued as anti religious freedom. Because of this I am able to tie in the sovereign citizen belief into a matter of religion rather than principal and rebellion against the system which is **technically** a stronger defense.
My finer point:
Should this be argued with validity because without laws we have idiotic misinterpretations based on the fundamental system rather than the reactive judicial system that make people believe they can get away with not following the law.
My conclusion: the "sovereign citizen" defense should be renamed to "I deliberately and maliciously misinterpreted the law in an attempt to get my own way because I'm a fundamental dumbass" defense. I have yet to find one good case study where the sovereign citizen defense has been used by a legitimately good person and not by some wackadoodle who wants to get away with being a fucking criminal.
