buddy headcanons that are canon TO ME (definitely not just me projecting my southernness onto buddy)

- buddy is the older cousin at the crawfish boil who sits with the younger kids to help them open their crawdads and get the meat out

- buddy is absolutely the counselor at church camp who does the acoustic guitar songs around the campfire

- realizing that those last two headcanons have to do with kiddos so i'm also adding that buddy is great with kids

- his parents/grandparents don't let him have an actual phone so they got him one of the old ass blackberry phones with a keyboard and no access to the internet

- speaking of his parents they're definitely for one reason or another absent in his life, i don't think they're dead but maybe they're on like a mission trip in fallinel

- calling his grandparents pam dawn and bobby dawn is definitely just a thing he does in public. there's no way in hell those southern grandparents aren't called mimi and pawpaw

Ok, I've already spent time wildly speculating about this random scene from ACOWAR where Feyre is struck by a memory of her "Prince of Merchants" father and a lapis lazuli pendant "from the ruins of an arid south-eastern kingdom, where the Fae had ruled as gods"...

So imagine my surprise when I come across this scene during my reread of HoF. Lapis lazuli mentioned specifically, along with gold, in the decoration of a knife that came from Eyllwe and was purchased from a merchant from the southern continent...

Both the memory and presence of these items seem to inspire uncontrolled, but visceral, memories for both Aelin and Feyre.

I've talked at length about the significance of lapis lazuli in particular (and what it could mean for these items), but mostly I'm here to say... "That's suspicious."

Aurelia had just arrived at camp a few days ago, and for whatever reason, the two of you were talking. She looked pretty rough her first day, and she had just been claimed the day previous. Apparently, she had made a new friend. Kiara. Or at least, she was trying very hard to be her friend.

She was telling you about how nice she had been when she arrived at the infirmary on her first day and how she had her back during her first capture the flag game.

Of course, she had also been talking about how this 'weird pagan stuff' was super confusing, but not nearly as much.
