I think Beetlejuice is so touch-starved from being invisible & intangible for centuries that he doesn’t know how to respond to others touching him. HE’S all for touching OTHERS, but HE likes being in control of the situation.

He’s also a demon. And demons might have different personal boundaries than people. Perhaps the last time someone touched him with no warning it was another demon trying to kill him *coughcough*Juno*coughcough*

He kind of reminds me of a cat. Cats have VERY strict boundaries! A cat will come up to you & give you head-bumps for love & purr when you get their plea for touching and rub their ears. The same cat will jump & glare at you if you walk up to them while they’re napping & pet them out of the blue.

I don't know what happened before that, but the scene seemed funny. They clearly have a strained relationship.

I also wanted to see their height difference. A tall, handsome man and a small, gnawed dead zebra. Funny

And BJ clearly doesn't like being touched. Except for Maitland ... hoho
