Edit: I MADE AN UPDATED ONE GO LOOK AT THAT ONE IT'S BETTER I CITED MY SOURCES AND SHOWED MY WORK AND EVERYTHING
Ladies and Gentlemen, Bitches and Bastards, Witches and Wizards, Mothers and Fuckers. Esteemed robot enjoyers, I present to you a semi-accurate height comparison of Bumblebee across the multiverse (as of July 2024). This really helps visualize the truly staggering differences between universes, at least height-wise. Also, three of these characters are Canonically the Same Guy; guess which ones.
I spent way too much time on the chart in the back it's not even funny. I will probably make more height charts for more TF characters and universes in the future. Don't expect it soon though, because when I make these, I am fueled by pure I-Got-Bored-At-Work-And-I-Have-Decided-To-Fool-Around-With-Robot-PNGs, and that fuel supply is inconsistent at best.
Hey Fun Fact, Did you know that Generation 1 Optimus Prime is around 19 Feet Tall? Bet some of you already knew that. I have no ulterior motives for bringing this fact up, what are you talking about.
My height explanations are below the cut, because you couldn't shut me up if you tried.
In an order:
Gen 1 - ~10 feet (the wiki says greater than 3 meters so I rounded up to the first whole number because round)
Netflix Cybertron Trilogy - ~10 feet (He looks identical to Gen 1 so... the reason his photo looks weird is because I couldn't find a good full body photo with him standing straight up facing the camera so I put two images together to make the worst looking photoshop job you have ever seen)
Earth Spark - 10 feet (There is no confirmed height yet but using a screen shot of him standing in front of a barn door I was able to make a reasonable guess.)
Animated - 12 feet (I have no genuine source for this, I think this info is just someone's guesstimate, but it seems reasonable. He's a tiny two door mini car, how big could he be)
New Live Action - 15 feet (The wiki hath declared. Also do we have a name for this universe because we need one I don't want to keep saying like 6 words to differentiate this one from bayverse)
Bayverse V1 - 16 feet (This is like the first 3 movies minimum, I don't remember when he hits his growth spurt. also wiki my love)
Cyberverse - 18 feet (I'm gonna be honest, the only info we have is from a really shitty screen shot of a magazine. SO if any one has a copy of this book from the video below, a high quality scan would be greatly appreciated and I will kiss the ground you walk upon. Yes I found the video where the screen shot comes from leave me alone)
Bayverse V2 - 18 feet (movie 4-5 I can't remember which one, I'm not re-looking this up. I fucking love the bayverse tho, this is the only universe with concrete and consistent this-character-is-this-height info)
Aligned Cont. WF/FOC - 20 feet (video game info screens you god send, kiss me sweetly)
Aligned Cont. TFP/RID15 - 21 feet (I do not know exactly where these numbers were found, but I fully fucking believe them. Just by looking at these characters on the show I can verify these numbers in my mind. They made specifically this universe to be full of freakishly tall robots for some fucking reason.)
And for any one who doesn't know, the three tallest are the same guy. Like the 20 feet tall one and the 21 feet tall ones, same guy. The ones in three wildly different art styles and designs. Let that sink in...
I fucking hate the aligned continuity why is that one my favorite.
#THIS ONE IS OLD GO LOOK AT THE BETTER ONE#All of these numbers are straight from TF Wiki or Fandom Wiki except the ones I specified came from guesses#it looks like a fucking criminal line up#please enjoy my inane rambling and obsessive knowledge consumption#Transformers#maccadams#bumblebee#tf bumblebee#tfp bumblebee#rid15 bumblebee#g1 bumblebee#earthspark bumblebee#tfa bumblebee#bumblebee 2018#bay verse bumblebee#transformers bumblebee#Transformers Height Charts#aka the adventures of a mother fucker with the power point program#personal stuff#I'm gonna die when I do the characters that show up in every universe that's going to be so many tags#opmus I love you but sweet fuck theres like 14 of you

Transformers One: Decepticons and Autobots
Yesterday I went to see TFOne and while it was overall a fun experience I think it would be also fun to decompose the way this movie portrays soon-to-be 'cons and 'bots.
Beware of the spoilers!
So the society and worldbuilding of Transformers One is clearly inspired by both Alligned continuity (Transformers Prime and such) and IDW2005 G1 continuity (MTMTE, RiD and such) tales about how the world looked like before the war. Of course it was only a inspiration, the liberties has been taken but some specific changes seem... well, as if they feared their source matherial to me.
Making the society divided to classes, the existence of miners is a clear inspiration from the continuities I mentioned. BUT. Making the miners exclusively (from what i observed and checked on tf wiki), besides D-16, future autobots, when in the inspirations the decepticons basically rised up from the mines is something else.
It might be G1 cartoon inspiration, where we learn in one episode that Quintessons constructed autobots as working class (TFOne: miners) and decepticons as warrior class (TFOne: High Guard). But here, melted with IDW and Alligned inspirations it feels as if the creators wanted to kinda make autobots less morally grey that their inspirations intended. The fact that the only "bully" from higher class than miners we ever see being actually piece of shit with a name is Darkwing, who we know as a decepticon also is pretty telling.
Overall I feel like the creators of this movie really wanted to take inspirations from IDW and Alligned continuity but also felt stangely uncomfortable with the implications of those continuities. Of decepticons having a point, of autobots being morally complicated, to put it lightly. It's understandable as it's a mainstream, singular movie that can't be too complicated, but still it feels kinda disappointing to me.
Giving Orion Pax the role we saw Megatron in in inspirations (a poet and an activist in IDW, a politican and a gladiator in Alligned), in the scene where he gives the speech to the miners really hammers it down. We can literally imagine Megatron doing that in universes that gave inspirations to this movie!
If someone knows more about how the creative process around this part of the movie worked I'd be glad to know!
#also feel free to add your thoughts discussion about that would be so interesting#seeing prowl in the crowd of miners was like a fever dream#megatron got kinda massacred here ok#i have a lot of thoughts about this movie but let's just go with that#transformers one#tf one#tf one spoilers#spoilers#tf one 2024#transformers#transformers theory#maccadam#Optimus Prime#Orion Pax#Megatron#d 16#prowl#this movie was a rollercoaster in some way

@silveraptor submitted:
"This character’s article on the TF Wiki actively invokes Escher Girls so I thought I should fulfill the prophecy. Incidentally, I’m almost impressed that they resisted the urge to have her tires fill in for either boobs or butts given that they designed their towering metallic femme fatale with long legs and high heels."
Okay, so this is weird, because the reason the Transformers Wiki invokes Escher Girls is because the image is sourced from Escher Girls, which I discovered when I went to the Wiki to try to find a higher resolution image. So that was very circular. xD
Anyway, so I posted this picture way way back at the beginning of this blog when it was submitted to me and apparently since then it's spread to various Transformers fan sites and Wikis, which makes it difficult for me to find other sources for it. The image is from the since-cancelled Transformers Online MMORPG.
I did end up finding a much larger version of the image. I'm not replacing it in the older post since it's now the source for the original image elsewhere, I don't want to make things even more confusing, but I'm posting the larger version here (and I'll link the original post to it).
If anybody edits the TFWiki and wants to update Crimson Phantom's picture with a higher res picture, you can use the one above btw. I found it on a Pinterest.

Transformers One Theories Part 1: Sentinel Prime and how he gained power on Cybertron (Special Guests: Quintessons)
Hello, Transformers One has taken over my mind so I’ve been rewatching the trailers and reading some interviews/articles. One thing I’ve noticed is that the marketing for this movie is mainly focused on Orion Pax and D-16’s friendship and the tragedy of their eventual fallout. However, there is little information on Sentinel Prime and the role he plays in the movie. Since I’m delusional, I came up with these crazy theories about Sentinel Prime, specifically on how he’s the villain in this story.
Before we get into my theories, here is some extra information that I’ll be referring to when explaining:
What We Know (trailers, interviews/articles, TV spots already released)- be warned, potential spoilers from articles/interviews released in Summer 2024
FYI- I will include screenshots from both trailers, so they should be images you've already seen- so no unexpected images.
In an IndieWire interview, the film was described as an “epic story about the rise of two leaders… including the start of a revolution, a years-long conspiracy and war with other aliens…”
In an interview with Josh Cooley ( aka the director), he says that he “embraced the chance to explore.. political corruption, revolution, and war”
Cybertron is currently undergoing an Energon crisis/drought (from other interviews)
There was another conflict, which involved the Primes, that occurred before the events of the movie- at the SDCC panel, they showed a clip of Sentinel Prime giving a speech about a past battle that killed all of the Primes and some veterans.
Source Material (?)
Cooley also mentioned in an interview (and at the SDCC panel) that Hasbro gave him a “bible” of Transformers lore
In a different interview, he also said that in the original story for the movie, Megatron was a gladiator. In fact, there were gladiatorial fight scenes planned, but were eventually cut out.
In addition, he and Orion Pax originally came from very different social backgrounds.
Does that sound familiar? (It should)
The “bible” of Transformers lore with D-16 as a gladiator and Orion Pax from a different social background would be the “Binder of Revelation”- which is what the Aligned Continuity (WOC games, TFP, Rescue Bots) is based on.
I’ll be referring to the Aligned Continuity as “AC” from now on. Yes, I know it sounds like air-conditioning, deal with it.
Therefore, I’ll also be talking about AC Sentinel Prime, as I believe that TFO Sentinel is heavily based on that version.
In the AC, Cybertronians initially did not know how to transform, but everyone was born with a dormant T-cog.
The Quintessons showed up later, pretending to be emissaries who wanted Cybertron to join the galactic community. They pretended to magically give the Cybertronians T-cogs and the ability to transform (they were activating the dormant T-cog). As a result, they were welcomed on Cybertron and gained public support from its inhabitants.
Afterward, they set up a global puppet government ruled by Sentinel Zeta Prime and a small council of Cybertronians. They also established the social caste system where one’s alt mode determined their role in society.
However, their facade was uncovered when a few individuals found out about their plan to sell Cybertronians.
Sentinel Prime led a rebellion that kicked the Quintessons out of Cybertron.
Afterward, Sentinel stayed as the leader of Cybertron and continued to enforce the caste system- making it the absolute way of life on Cybertron- which would later become one of the reasons for the start of the Great War.
(Taken from TF Wiki)
Now.. finally- my theories
THEORIES
Sentinel Prime is business partners with the Quintessons (sort of?)
The first trailer shows some Quintessons arriving on the surface of Cybertron. Later shots show Sentinel Prime landing in front of one of the ships. In the background, there are also two trains,Airachnid, and some Vehicon-looking soldiers. It seems that they were expecting the Quintessons. They would have brought more soldiers and weapons if they were unexpected guests. Also, when one of the Quintessons grabs Sentinel, he seems distressed but makes no effort to escape. If it was an unexpected action, he may have reacted more violently. None of the soldiers in the background react to this too- meaning that this interaction isn't new. My main takeaway here is that Sentinel has interacted with the Quintessons before.
In AC, the Quintessons secretly took over Cybertron and exploited its people and resources. What if they are doing something similar here? Some interviews said that an energon crisis/drought is happening on Cybertron, and Orion Pax and D-16 are energon miners working to help in this crisis. But what if there isn't a crisis going on? What if this is a cover-up for the truth that all of the energon is going to the Quintessons instead of the people? The trains in the background came from below the planet where the mines are- so they may be carrying energon to give to the Quintessons. But is Sentinel willingly giving the energon to the Quintessons or is forced to? If he's doing this out of his own free will, then why?
Which brings me to the next theory….
Sentinel Prime was somehow involved with the demise of the original Primes
At the beginning of the second trailer, there appears to be a monument under attack (explosions and Cybertronians running away from it). Other shots of the trailer show that this monument has the Matrix of Leadership and figures (at least 7) engraved in it. This is most likely a monument for the original Primes (and current) because other shots show statues of Sentinel Prime-they are blue and gold and have wings - surrounding it.
As mentioned previously- before the Iacon 5000- Sentinel gives a speech about the Primes and how they perished in battle. Based on the giant monument and Sentinel’s speech, it’s safe that the Primes are well known and are considered important figures- perhaps heroes- on Cybertron.
BUT- the first trailer shows the bodies of the Primes in a cave, where they are covered in vegetation- as if they were abandoned. If the Primes are considered important, heroic beings, why were their bodies left on the surface of Cybertron? Why were they not taken back to Iacon to be given a proper funeral?
….. Something is fishy here.
Like I said- this is a crazy theory, but I think Sentinel was responsible for the demise of the original Primes. Sentinel giving a speech about the Primes and the event/battle of their deaths suggests that he knows HOW they died. The fact that a battle is mentioned indicates a war or conflict before the events of TFO. This lines up with what another interview said- that the movie would include wars with other aliens.
These two pieces of information make me believe that before the movie's events, there was a war between Cybertronians (specifically the Primes) and Quintessons, who were invading the planet. To support that- in a shot with Orion Pax, D-16, and Bumblebee looking at Alpha Trion's recording, Alpha Trion is holding a blaster- he's directly involved in combat.
As said before, in AC, Sentinel was installed as the leader of a puppet government controlled by the Quintessons. But instead of being installed as leader directly by the Quintessons, he probably became leader in a different way in TFO.
Sentinel may have been under the direct command of the Primes or was one himself. Tying back to the first theory- I think he made a deal with the Quintessons. He betrayed the Primes- by leading them into a trap/battle where the Quintessons killed them (only Alpha Trion survived- somehow). In exchange for the Quintessons killing the Primes, which would allow him to become Cybertron's leader, he would give them the planet's energon. As a result, the Quintessons would have someone who would give them the resources (energon) they want.
Also- in the same clip with Orion Pax, D-16, etc.- Orion says that the recording is an SOS call- I betting this was sent when the Primes were overwhelmed by the Quintessons. Since the call never made it through, someone-maybe Sentinel- blocked it or hid it until the main cast found it.
Overall, this would be a beneficial situation for both parties- Sentinel gets control/power over the planet, and the Quintessons get Energon without spending time and resources trying to conquer Cybertron. This may also explain why no one is allowed to go to the surface- they might see the Quintessons and discover the Primes’ bodies- and put into question Sentinel’s true loyalties. There is supposedly a “years-long conspiracy” involved in this movie, which may be referring to this- the Primes were murdered, and the Quintessons have control of the planet’s resources through Sentinel, who has been lying all these years about the fates of the Primes and where the Energon actually goes.
Summary of my theories:
Before the events of TFO, there was a war between Cybertronians and Quintessons, with the Primes defending Cybertron. Sentinel made a deal with the Quintessons. He betrayed the original Primes, allowing the Quintessons to kill them, thus giving him leadership over the planet. This benefits the Quintessons because they get a leader who willingly gives them the planet’s energon. To prevent the Cybertronian population from discovering Sentinel’s role in the Primes’ demise AND the Quintessons, they are not allowed to go to the surface under the assumption/lie that the surface is dangerous.
This would be a new twist on the events in the Aligned Continuity while also combining a few elements of other versions of Sentinel into one: the jerk from TFA, the betrayer from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and the leader who only gained power through association with the Quintessons from AC.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading my rambling. I have no clue if both of my theories are straight up wrong or somewhat correct... but regardless there will be a part 2 of Sentinel Prime Theories coming later....

Now that I saw that doodle Vox made again, I'm just wondering how tf he knew Alastor has hooves
Also noticed that he was a lil fixated on Al's ass in that same doodle so there's that :>
I literally searched the Hazbin wiki for the source and couldn't find it but I've seen multiple people posting some screenshot of some website that says, Velvette previously stated Vox had an Alastor body pillow, and I don't know if that's an old Voxtagram post or more recent but it's been living in my head rent free ever since
Like there have been so many Viv streams and q&a's that have mildly spoiled things or mentioned facts that have since become non canon so I'm not sure what to listen to anymore but dude, reading the wiki of all the amalgamated facts is A TRIP. Vox is Actually Totally Correct: despite Alastor having his gentlemanly persona and some weird "serial killer moral code, like dexter", he canonically has awful oral hygiene and both Vivzie and... Fautisse? Have mentioned this. His demon form has black gums. Vivzie said he "probably doesn't prioritize oral hygiene" and also probably wasn't a cannibal in life so that's literally a new hobby he picked up in death so also um. THE SECOND THIS MAN HAD FREE REIGN AND THERE WAS NO RULE OF LAW OR CONSEQUENCES HE DECIDED TO START EATING PEOPLE SO LET THAT SINK IN.
You start reading Alastor's wiki page and it makes it pretty clear he's like DERANGED, hypocritical, he's like borderline a megalomaniac? It's all hidden behind this, persona, this wall he puts up, his well put together demeanor that allegedly never cracks, but underneath his showmanship he's a haughty, insecure, judgy, gossipy, genuine FREAK who responds with insults and violence whenever he can who relishes in trolling people and scaring them, literally enjoys knowing when he's making people uncomfortable
I have so many conflicting feelings but like PRETTY SURE HIS VERSE IN THE FINALE WAS A VILLAIN SONG, HE'S LITERALLY SINGING ABOUT BEING PISSED AND WANTING TO RETALIATE BECAUSE HE'S BEING FORCED TO DO STUFF HE DOESN'T WANT TO
THUS
I AM CONVINCED VOX IS JUST A BOTTOM AND A SLUT WHO THINKS ALASTOR IS JUST REALLY COOL AND HAS A ONE SIDED PATHETIC BOY CRUSH
Bro the sound I fucking made when his wiki trivia says he's been described as "painfully white, like phlegm in the back of your throat white" NO DONT DO MY TV MAN LIKE THIS 😭🤣
Anyways, you've probably seen the posts but for someone who claims to be so hip and modern, Vox goes out of his way to dress similarly to Alastor. The coat with lapels in the front and a tail in the back, a bow tie with a cravat, cuffed sleeves, intentionally or not the color contrast of Vox's hands resembles Alastor's and Vox CAN customize his body...
He's just. I just completely forget sometimes that Alastor literally called him OLD PAL in episode 3 and yes he was obviously saying it to talk down to him but like ALASTOR DID ACKNOWLEDGE HISTORY BETWEEN THEM, and also oh wait what's this, Vivzie has confirmed Vox and the Vees are major antagonists of Season 2 and that Vox and Alastor's history is going to be expanded upon so.... radiostatic shippers stay winning ha ha
I read a post that I meant to reblog that was something like "Vox is actually an incredibly cunning charismatic manipulative businessman who is a legitimate threat and we see this for all of 5 minutes and the second Alastor is mentioned he starts completely coming apart" and it's SO TRUE, he can be ur angel or ur devil. He's a legitimately OP threat and he's also A PATHETIC SAD FAILHUSBAND. Give me Vox who's efficiently marketing more hypnosis equipment to substantially grow his own wealth and manipulating his shareholders and then he's going back to his computer room with some popcorn and kicking his little feeties as he watches his darling and Alastor on like 30 different monitors. Give me Vox who can know the INSTANT someone is trying to go behind his back and double cross him because he has mass surveillance all over the city and he's using his endless resources to develop high end 3d printers to make posable figures of his crush and Alastor.
Give me Vox who loses his cool and insults you to your face and you two get into a huge argument and maybe Velvette and Valentino lash out at you in defense of him and he's going to his room and crying from frustration into his body pillows totally not plural, totally not ones of you and Alastor and calling himself a stupid idiot because he hurt your feelings and then spends the next like week SUFFOCATINGLY showing up almost every single place you are and embarrassing himself as he tries to bond with you and prove to you what CLEARLY AWESOME boyfriend material he is

Wedding-officiate! Optimus anon here. The spilling of any tears is completely unintentional and I apologise in advance.
oh golly : this is your expository post to follow up your ask-response tags:
OP is Orion Pax. Text will refer to the Conjunx Endura Ritus and several of the acts themselves (information sourced via TF Wiki page 'Conjunx Endura' & a Wordpress blog post- search 'Conjunx Endura Ceremony, ask-eclipsemtmte-stuff').
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spinning yarn here that OP in this context previously worked in the business of guiding bots on how the Conjunx Ritus works. Most bots who show up are there for #4 Act of Devotion of the ceremony, some are there to start the process and want advice as to how to begin, a few are in between the rites and just want some bot to talk to.
Like: think of it as a similar to a Registry Office Wedding, it's yourself + spouse-to-be + 3rd party of relative authority to witness the ceremony completion for registry purposes.
I'm not saying a 'Conjunx Endura Registry' exists - the 3rd party in this case takes the role of seeing the final act in the Conjunx Ritus before the bond is cemented - not compulsory but gives the event more weight to it.
The authority OP has to do this before Primacy is:
he is knowledgable as to the Conjunx Ritus process, due to his archive work involving temple literature.
the bot who is actually meant to do this job haphazardly bestows this small responsibility onto OP, who is still an archivist but said archives also happen to share space with a temple.
said bot has more than 1 job at temple but is the only one who officiates - needs a back up for the odd few that appear when he isn't there.
the original bot has written express permission for OP to carry out officiate duties, so bots that enter the space can't say OP isn't qualified to be there.
OP doesn't actually need to do this other job but sometimes a break is needed from archiving - and this is a perfect set up to keep the cycles bright. And also because the original bot allows OP to use his working space as he pleases - super cushy office space all to himself with the comfiest chair & desk a bot could have in peaceful silence.
So several stellar cycles of this and seeing countless ceremonies, both successful and not, OP lays optics on THE bot.
The bot, whose journey begins like all other who walk through the door to seek his council, is captivating. Not in the physical sense only, but how they speak. OP doesn't recall when he has had such riveting conversations before. OP is another civilian like others, being the (temp) officiate shouldn't bar him from pursuing what he sees almost daily.
A deep relationship is forged between them. It also progresses to the point where OP has given said bot a gift - which is #3 Act of Proferrence in the Ritus.
Sadly, war happens etc - Primacy upgrade happens too quickly as well.
OP is gone and only Optimus Prime remains. OP doesn't get to have his #4 Act of Devotion with the other bot because "he (OP) just doesn't exist anymore" - per the other bot's words.
OP is spark-broken as he was willing to try again from the beginning with #1 Act of Intimacy then #2 Act of Disclosure before moving onto the later two Acts.
More time passes, some within the Autobot faction desire to go through the Ritus. Optimus, knowing how to actually go through the process, decides he will not allow those by his side to feel the pain he once went through and offers to help them live their happiest moment.
And he will give those couplings his time of utmost sincerity and wish them a lengthy bond withstanding space-time. The smile on his face is genuine at their ceremony, as is his joy for them.
Optimus wishes his own could be rekindled some day, those who ask him about it are not ready for the saddest smile that adorns his faceplates.
-----------------
And that marks the end of the context. Certainly, anybody can make use of their preferred Bot/Con in mind to pair with Optimus/OP.
-Peace Out, vanishes-
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Optimus!!!!! Nooo!!!!!
Learned some trivia from a meme recently
I checked, and this Tf Wiki Source backs it up
Wonder if this means that C-01 could be Orion’s original numerical designation (if he had one)?
GUYS-
Thanks to @kaptainsappho I now can´t not see THEM-
-when I see THEM:
EVEN THE ORDER FITS. 😭😭😭
Irina/Marie
Like, we all know Irina is the most mature of the three, right? She´s got this "not gonna deal with ya bs" aura and she will not hesitate to speak up when she thinks her sisters are being utterly moronic. Just like-
Marie, who´s so done with her siblings´ bs most of the time.
That´s so Irina, in a way. PLEASE. 😩
Also, let´s not forget-
Who do I consider the most romantic out of the three? 😉
I mean:
(Source: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Marie)
I MEAN?? 😭
Kate/Toulouse
Then you got Kate - the daredevil, the show-off. The one who loves pushing boundaries and testing limits just to see how far she´ll get. She´s not afraid to take some risks in order to accomplish her goals. (Let´s be honest, most of her goals got to do with annoying tf out of her sisters.)
Well, guess who else loves to act all tough and mighty?
Toulouse.
Such a lil spitfire. No wonder Kate has taken a liking to MC. They´re much alike. 😏
I mean:
(Source: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Toulouse)
I MEAN?? 😭
Tanya/Berlioz
(Source: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Berlioz)
Berlioz aka the sophisticated dork. THAT´S (kinda) LITERALLY WHAT IT SAYS HERE:
"...very quiet but mischievous."
I MEAN?? 😭
It´s all about appearing calm and collected on the outside, yknow? Never let them know your next move. 👀
(Something MC will have the displeasure of learning rather sooner than later probs.)
As for the rest? I gotta admit, I was torn between Irina and Tanya when it comes to Berlioz, especially because he´s the youngest of the three (like someone else). But Marie and Irina are much too alike, so I went with Berlioz for Tanya.
I mean, look, the rest of Berlioz´s personality is basically Tanya when it comes to Kate specifically. I´ll admit, it does take some time before the eldest Denali sister looses it. She´s a leader, after all, so she´s gonna (try and) keep her cool until the situation requires her to be more forceful. Over the centuries, girl has developed a sense for when it´s worth spending her energy on something. She´s simply being resourceful. 🤷♀️
But the snide look or comment? Defo Tanya when it comes to Kate, lol.
And, ofc, we cannot forget-
Carmen & Eleazar/Duchesse & Thomas
...I mean, CMON. 😭
What do yall think? Which kitty is who? Who is which kitty? Who do you see when you look at them?
Also, tysm @kaptainsappho for pointing that one out. I fucking LOVE the comparison. It fits so well - our three spitting kittens & their doting parents. 😭🥰
I recently installed wayfire, and oh boy after a full 24 hours I have never been this conflicted with a desktop environment, after a day it's either "wow this is amazing," or "who tf made this piece of shit." I always go further on to try and see if this is just a random issue that I had, but this is like no other.
wayfire is a wayland compositor based on wlroots that aims to make a customizable, extendable, and lightweight environment that doesn't sacrifice looks in the name of being lightweight and able to run on shitty hardware. Perfect something that I can run on my chromebook! I already use i3 on my chromebook but I wanted to see if it could run it, and also I wanted to try out wayfire and I'm not going to lock my main laptop to wayfire when I can also try wayfire on the 16 gig emmc on my chromebook just to see how lightweight it is.
but oh boy "customizable" wayfire has the shittiest customization I have ever seen, I see all these rices on r/unixporn and I respect everyone who can make wayfire look good becuase if I can only color the background of the panel, but I can't touch everything else. Then we got some serious problems when it comes to customizability here.
look at this bullshit
to explain what's wrong here, firefox uses the gtk toolset, and the "Customize Look and Feel" app is actually Lxappearance, which pulls gtk themes and applies them to your desktop environment or window manager, I use lxappearance on i3 to theme it up a little.
But here, not just firefox, but EVERY GTK APPLICATION suffers from this not being installed. Also you can set the icon theme in lxappearance and it applies to your DE/WM. Nope, not in wayfire.
And you can also see my issue here with the wf-shell panel as well. You can customize the look of the panel in the wf-shell.ini config file, but you also need to use CSS to change the look and feel as well. But when I set the css file for the panel in the wf-shell.ini, nothing happens, nothing is applied. I even tried to sanity check myself to make sure it wasn't my css was wrong and just copied the default css and still nothing was applied.
and there is no issue with the version of lxappearance I installed. Because I got i3, and copied my configs from my other system over to my chromebook and installed picom (I did this before trying out wayfire but wayfire didn't take up much space on my drive so it worked out fine) and look, it works, Firefox is supposed to switch the theme to dark to follow the system.
also another complaint is why do the windows on wayfire have different types of decoration, what is with that?
this is just insane that in the first 24 hours I encountered issues like this, that are literal dealbreakers for me, because i3, yes you have to manually configure vs wayfire you can get a graphical configuration manager (the package is wcm). But i3 doesn't do all this stupid shit that wayfire does, and most likely there is some graphical configuration manager for i3 that I just don't know about. The thing is though, I already configured my i3. All I do now is install what I need and copy the config files so I don't really need a config manager now.
The thing is I ran into issues INSTALLING the damn thing. I couldn't install it from the AUR even though they said that's how you install it on arch! EVEN THE ARCH WIKI SAYS THAT'S HOW YOU INSTALL IT! But instead I had to install it by cloning the git and building from source!
Then there were also issues with the sound, I booted up doom and literally every sound was laggy and slow, I thought this was because I was using pulseaudio, which is weird because my first time using arch I couldn't listen to music at all on anything other than youtube with pipewire, but pulseaudio worked and so I made a note to never use pipewire for audio. Pipewire can be used for the display stuff but don't let pipewire cook with the audio. But Pipewire didn't fix the issue, and so I tried to see maybe pairing it with lxqt would work. I know someone who uses wayfire, and they use it with lxqt so... Yeah I was told to get a fork of lxqt-session so I could pair lxqt with wayfire. The instructions on github say to use make to install it, but there are no makefiles. That's the same thing as "plug the computer in and turn it on," but there's no power supply. So I uninstalled lxqt because lxqt has always been the bane of my existence when it comes to using lightweight DEs. XFCE is better by a mile, but XFCE suffers the same fate as lxqt, they aren't wayland. So I have respect to @linux-real that's the person that I talked about with the using wayfire + lxqt and they managed to get it looking nice.
A lot of people had great experiences with wayfire and it's most likely not for me. I would like to try hyprland as it a wayland compositor with high customizability, but there is a controversy behind hyprland.
But to sum it up. I tried wayfire because someone recommended it to me and said it was great, and sadly I was hit with issues and issues. And so I didn't get to see it. I have all respect for the people who were able to get this thing to actually work on their laptop.
Could I ask for your thoughts on Last Bot Standing's ending? That tidbit intrigued when reading your post.
hahahaha. you wish to invoke my ire? my rage? *eyes clock* I wonder if I have enough time to do this before I have to leave for work
let's get the disclaimer out of the way: LBS is not for me. that's the proper thing you're supposed to say in this situation. my criticism is all extremely personal taste related. the story is cogently written, it's cogently drawn. it's An End to Transformers - that was its goal - and it fulfilled it.
so with that out of the way, I'll put my personal taste related ire beneath the cut. let's be honest, here. anger is entertaining, but it's not all that inspirational.
Second Disclaimer: I'm going completely off memory and I'm not going to cite my sources because I don't have time, but you all know where the tf wiki is. You can read the plot yourself and try to find the tweet I mention
First, a quick note on WHEN it came out, since that's important: IDW2 was coming to an end (they were losing or not renewing their TF license, whichever it was). Nick Roche wrote and drew LBS, and it was one of the very last things coming out from IDW. he described it as, per my memory of one of his tweets, the equivalent of "carrying your screaming kids out of the restaurant." Although this was done during IDW2, he specifically drew Rodimus (the main TF character) in his MTMTE form (from IDW1). Roche said that the story was meant to be "an" end to TFs, not "the" end. Meaning, yeah sure it's canon, but there are soooo manyyyyy dimensions out there. This doesn't have to be the end of MTMTE Rodimus.
but oh boy was it implied.
the story was 4 comics long and it went something like this: we're introduced to an alien girl on an alien planet towards the heat death of the universe (so, really far future). it's a Western style world. girl has a wagon, brothers, and conflict with the town she lives in. the planet has energon, which the natives find. this attracts the last living group of Cybertronians. surprise: the wagon is Rodimus. he wakes up and slaughters them all. he basically says Cybertronians have no fate but to fight: they are inherently violent and destroy everything they come across. so he's been killing them. he killed his own crew of friends when they landed on that planet. at the end of the story, when every single other Cybertronian in the entire universe is dead, he shoots himself up into orbit around the alien planet so he can slowly starve to death
that summary really doesn't do the emotional impact much justice, so, idk, read it if you want
when I finished the story, I sat back and thought, "wow, if I hated Transformers, this is what I would've written. but the guy who wrote this doesn't hate them. Nick Roche, who hurt you?"
and I had an immediate hypothesis. the 1986 movie. the movie slaughtered many beloved characters, and Roche was passing on that childhood hurt
lol. I mean, maybe. that's something we'll never know, but that was the first explanation I thought of
ok so why hate this?
it's fundamentally hopeless. there is nothing but slaughter and death. no recourse. no discussion, no chance for people to change. no further exploration of any other possible options. just slaughter and death. I, personally, hate that
any particular iteration of Rodimus you find- this isn't how he acts. MTMTE Rodimus ended LL uniting his crew into spectacular action by saying how they might not be good, but they're good enough
the portrayal of the entire species as inherently harmful bothers me
this was like, the LAST THING WE GOT FROM IDW. THIS WAS THE CROWNING, FINISHING ACT. LOL. what??? the fuck???????? to me it read as "well, we don't have them anymore, so no one else can have them. we'll destroy them."
now in an attempt to stymie anyone coming into replies and arguing with my opinions, remember: this is my opinion. I put it behind a cut after clearly labeling it. this is not a discussion. I don't want to have a discussion.
LBS is what I would've written if I hated Transformers and wanted them to suffer and die in the most personal, horrible ways possible. but I don't hate TFs. I really really like them. I love giving them stories. so LBS encapsulating the worst ending for them possible, yeah, I'm gonna hate that
