Character(s) you are: Slimecicle
Type of relationships you want: Looking for friends! I'm happy talking to anybody, but right now I'm really looking for Baghera, Mike or Quackity :)
Canon lenient or divergent: Would consider my memories pretty media accurate, but I probably have a few mems that differ
How to contact you: @.terminalcases on discord!! Make sure the . is included at the beginning!
Extra: Would prefer for doubles not to interact, sorry. I've already found Mariana, Flippa, Cellbit, and Pac so I would prefer for kins of them to not interact either. Anybody else is welcome, though!
Good luck, Charlie!

I think it’s interesting who much the fandoms is interested in « who has suffered the most », « who’s gone through the most pain » etc.
Pain, and by extension suffering, are not outwardly quantifiable by an observer. We confuse pain for noxious stimulus because that’s how the word is commonly used. Noxious stimuli is what is causing pain, be it pin prick or burn or anything else. Pain is the perception of that stimuli, not the cause.
But here’s the thing, like every stimuli, there is a threshold required for reception and in the case of noxious stimulus, it is varied person to person.
If someone is in low levels of constant pain, very small stimulus that normally wouldn’t register is enough to cause pain. Some people build up resistance, some just naturally have more sensitive receptors. In a very extreme example, a stubbed toe can cause as much pain to one person as a broken bone in another. The damage done to the body is not what is causing the pain, it’s the activation of the receptor, and the amount of activation.
Either way, we can not determine what is more painful for a given person. We can assess outward damage, (which is obviously also important), but we can not assume someone with less visible damage is not feeling pain. Signs of pain are often hidden. Animals, for example, hide pain very well, but it does not mean they do not feel it or they feel it less.
Why we are so focused on which character is hurting more is confusing to me. How on earth can we claim to know? They are all hurting, and that’s what is important.
TLDR: Pain isn’t some quantifiable thing, we can’t just look at some and decide how much they are suffering, and in my opinion trying to do so is foolish
