Slippery Sensations
Summary: As the tank of your party, you've fought plenty of slimes before, but this monster proves to have tricks hidden in his goop. Pairing: Han Jisung x afab!Reader Genre: Fantasy, Horror(?), Smut, One-Shot Tropes: slime monster!AU, adventurer!AU, knight!AU Word Count: 1.8K Contains: (pure filth tbh) slime play, taboo desires, unprotected sex, outdoor sex, tentacles, breath play, pet name once (my love), vibrations, nipple play/breast fondling, bondage (with slime), dacryphilia, clit play, overstimulation, multiple orgasms (f. receiving), cum-eating (technically, absorbing) A/N: The plot of this was loosely based on a character in one of my favorite anime series, Darkness from Konosuba, who is a wonderful masochist, so take that as you will.
Another slow day for your guild, your party decides to grab a few quests and earn some extra money. Known as the team's tank, you offer to single-handedly take on the ever-present quest of fighting the lower-level monsters that consistently creep towards the city gates. Exiting the city, you feel confident in your abilities to fight a few magical animals or low-level slimes and other pests.
You quickly work through five swarms of oversized bugs, some wolves, and even a few rogue goblins. As the swarms get further from the city limits, you begin to fight against low-level archers and sorcerers. They manage a few hits on you while you make it into closer range, but you still best them without much issue. After finishing your tenth swarm, you expect to be finished with the quest, but you survey the nearby area in search of any stragglers hiding amongst the foliage.
Stepping into a particularly cold patch of forest, you find a stream that you don't remember being there a few days ago. You carefully follow it back to its source, only to find that it's not water at all, but rather some translucent slime trailing from a high-level slime monster. Before you can turn around and alert the guild, the monster catches sight of you.
With a quick curse under your breath, you prepare yourself for battle. You don't fear it, but you choose to follow your adventurer's instinct to always be ready for the worst. However, the slime monster simply looks at you in wonder, making you lower your sword. The blob of a monster begins rippling as it shifts, morphing itself into a form that resembles a human.
"What the-?"
"Would you not be more comfortable facing something similar to you? Should I shift into something else instead?"
Where you expected a voice of some sort of extreme, you find that the monster's voice is oddly... normal. It feels soft and flowy, but it also has a bit of bass that tingles your ears. If you didn't see a dangerous green monster of thick liquid in front of you, you would've pictured a handsome man based on voice.
"Based on your smile, I assume you to be accepting of this form. Shall we begin?"
"Begin? Begin what?"
On guard again, you raise your sword uselessly. The moment you settle into a battle position, you feel your feet engulfed by the cold, thick slime. You hate yourself for the fluttering in your stomach at the feeling, where any normal person would likely feel disgust or even fear.
"You followed my slick stream, did you not? Only those with a desire towards slimes can see those, my love. If you quit denying yourself the pleasures you yearn for, I can show you everything you've missed before."
Feeling the rough thumping in your chest as the slime submerges your ankles, your adventurer rules fade from memory as you let yourself become prey to the monster. Although you've had fleeting thoughts and occasional dreams of slime monsters in the past, you never once admitted them to a soul. But now, standing completely alone with one, you can deny your fantasies no longer.
As you relax slightly, you ask for something to refer to the monster as, mentioning that you can get quite noisy. Met with a hearty chuckle that you can feel on your skin through the liquid, you get a response that fills your core with warmth.
"Believe me, you won't be yelling much of anything when filled with me, but if you prefer a title, you can call me Han."
Swallowing back saliva, you breathe out his name in response to commit it to memory. Even without distinct features, you can feel the confidence radiating from him as you do so. He slides more slime up your figure, twisting around your left leg and rubbing up against your heat through your clothes and damaged armor. As the acidic slime breaks down the metallic armor and soaks through the cotton, you find your eyes falling shut as he moves the tentacles of goo up your torso. With the ever-flowing cold liquid against the warmest parts of your body, it feels like you're resting in a nice cold stream.
Wrapping himself around your chest, your nearby broken chestplate dissolves into him, opening your body to him more. Shortly after, you feel your silk shirt fall loose, bringing to mind the fact that its buttons were metal as well. He lets out a noise you can only relate to a cat's purr as he watches your clothes fall apart so easily for him. With the noise permeating his whole being, you feel the vibrations against your nipples and between your thighs. A mewl falls from your lips as your head tilts back in pleasure, but Han quickly silences you by slipping a thin stream of slime between your parted lips, opening them wider as he fills your mouth entirely.
Your eyes fly open as you adjust to the suddenlack of air, but you adjust wuickly by focusing on breathing through your nose. Only keeping your mouth about half full to limit your noises, he focuses back onto your chest. Binding your boobs tightly, he points your now-perky nipples towards the majority of his mass. Small finger-like strands reach from the binds to tease and pull at your nipples. Even when he pulls too far, the sting is soothed by the coolness surrounding them.
Noting your reactions to his actions, Han lifts your body and pushes your back against a nearby tree. Even the roughness of the bark scratching your skin is dulled by the cushion of the slime surrounding most of your body. Manipulating your body like his own personal toy, he lifts your arms above your head and spread your legs open wide. With slime covering your limbs, you struggle to move an inch, even simply as reactions to his probing of your body.
He moves closer, with what appears to be his head only about a breath's distance away. Pushing more slime into your mouth, he watches carefully, peering down your throat through the translucent green material. With the blockage of more of your airway, tears prick your eyes as you struggle to breathe. Although he lightens up after a few beats of your pounding heart, he keeps your mouth stretched wide.
Flattening himself to place his head level with your crotch, he roughly tears away the fabric hiding your entrance from him. Admiring it for a moment, you can imagine that he'd be licking his lips in anticipation if he had the ability. You feel the blood rush to your cheeks the longer he stares, only to be caught off guard when he shoves a thick tentacle of slime into your hole without warning.
Unlike the stretch of a human penis, Han stretches you until your body fights back. A sense of euphoria clouds your thoughts as he fills you perfectly. Solidifying his form slightly, he begins slowly moving the appendage back and forth. You feel your eyes roll back as the sensations overwhelm your whole body. You want to whine, to moan, to squirm about - you want to react so badly, but Han has you unable to do a thing. As he slowly works your body, you lose your mind trying but failing to grind faster.
He can feel your fight despite the lack of movement, so his voice vibrates against your body again, "Shh. Let me take care of you. I know it's slow, but we can't overwhelm your body right from the start. Not when there's so much time left in the day."
You taste the salt from his words on your tongue as your tears mix with his slime. With such a powerful, convincing voice, you can't help but relax your body and listen to his words, even despite such an intense urge for more. Fueled by your tears, the monster growls as he tries to restrict himself from ruining you too quickly.
Wihtin a half hour of mind-numbingly slow sex, he lets his feral urges win as he speeds up. The change in pace shocks your body back into wanting to react. Feeling this, he removes the slime from your mouth, wrapping it instead around your throat. Unable to connect your brain to your tongue, a series of unintelligable noises and curses leave your throat in a near whisper. The ocasional addition of his alias mixed into your mumbling invites him to pound harder, but instead of moving his appendage, he takes a different approach. Dropping your arms down to your side, he tightens his binds around your waist and begins bouncing your body up and down.
Although he made himself fill you perfectly, the sensations change now that your body moves instead of forcibly staying still. Adding to this, he envelopes your clit in another strand, letting the ever-flowing liquid massage your sensitive ball of nerves. The sensations overwhelm you, as it feels unlike anything you've had before. Far better than even the best human sex you've experienced, you find yourself falling victim to the addicting touch Han provides. As your body heats up and tenses, you feel yourself reaching your high. Silently urging you to orgasm, Han sucks up all of your juices as they flow out, enjoying the taste as it melts into him.
Coming down after orgasm doesn't last long, as Han tightens the bind around your neck and continues to bounce you on his slime cock. He removes the sensations from your clit to lessen the overstimulation, but refuses to stop after tasting your sweet orgasm. As the sun progresses its movement across the sky, you can't even think about anything, your mind fucked straight out of you.
Meanwhile, the rest of your party begin to worry about your extended absence. Everyone trusted that you'd be able to handle the creatures nearby, but now they're concerned for your safety. Suiting up in their heavy armor to make up for the lack of their tank, they venture outside the city to try and find you.
Sensing movement in the forest nearby, Han returns the pressure to your clit to bring you to your second intense orgasm. Slowing down as you ride through another high, he lays you down onto solid ground and asks you to come visit him again in the future. Catching your breath, you lie on the grass with your clothes soaked and falling apart, in a puddle of slime. You wipe the tears off of your cheeks before hearing a familiar voice calling out to you, followed by four pairs of feet rushing towards you.
Despite your blissed-out state, your team only notices your lack of armor, torn clothing, and red puffy eyes and assume you fought against a tough, high-level monster. Checking your limbs for injury and draping a cloak over your exposed body, they ignore your outrageous explanation about sex with a slime and carry you back into the city for a long rest.

I wanna introduce y'all to an oc/story concept I've had for a while now.
Oc created using the "Bright's Picrew Hell" since I am terrible at drawing.
Basically its a parody and deconstruction of an Isekai story - aka "character is teleported/reincarnated into another world" (for example KonoSuba, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Digimon etc.)
The main character of this idea is Sekai Ishida; a gloomy shut-in with cerebral palsy and spinal bifida who's dealing with having aged out of the foster system and finding supports for his disability. Sekai was minding his own business going to career training when;
Sekai, being physically disabled, is unable to climb out of the way of a speeding subway car when he stumbles (or was tripped) onto the tracks. He closes his eyes.
He awakens to find himself dumped through a portal to a magical fantasy world.
When the many gods greeting him in the space between worlds ask him if he wishes for a boon to bring with him into this new life; Sekai impulsively replies "Give me back my crutches."
Well shit now he's just some Japanese guy with severe mobility issues in a dnd-inspired medieval kingdom with no fighting experience or magical add-on. What's a guy to do?
Wormwood; an Aberrant demon looking for a host: "
Wormwood: "Hey you wanna-" Sekai, already fed-up: "Whatever, sure." (*shakes hand*) Wormwood: "Damn, ok. Didn't even need a sales pitch." Workwood: (*painfully merges into Sekai's body*) Wormwood: "...damn bitch, you live like this?" Sekai: "Yeah." Wormwood: "I can't even look into parts of your brain." Sekai: "Yeah those don't work." Wormwood: "Screw this, I'm finding another off-worlder for my plans." (*nothing happens*) Wormwood: "...why can't I leave?" Sekai: "HAH! You're trapped in here with me!" Wormwood, tentacles waving frantically: "I can't even move your legs!" Sekai, gestures to crutches, laughing manically: "Neither can I!" Wormwood: "You are evil."
So now Sekai has one thing going for him; an inky symbiote-esque demon thats trapped in his body that's pretty keen on keeping Sekai alive. For now.
Also, you know how the demon mentioned "off-worlders"?
Yeah. Sekai isn't the only one.
It's a frequent phenomena in the magical kingdom, to the point that there are new laws in place to deal with people that fall through.
Notably:
Report immediately to the King.
Surrender all technology and/or organics to the crown.
Any accompanying animals will be quarantined or destroyed.
If it looks like nothing fell out of a portal hole - no it didn't. Evacuate the area immediately.
Off-Worlders should avoid making deals with spirit and/or demons, as they are an untapped source of raw magical life force (Sekai: "Oops"), and can cause the world around them to glitch and break down since they're essentially aliens.
Its not always human either. Dogs, cats, birds, and trilobites frequently wander/fall in. Imagine the utter terror of villagers used to dragon when they see a saltwater crocodile for the first time.
It's not always humans or organic things that fall in though. Like in Digimon where a subway car or a fridge full of eggs would randomly glitch in.
The ultimate common denominator is people and things that have experienced "glitches in the matrix"-style disappearances and have just... disappeared back in their home time/dimension. Oh yeah, people from completely different cultures and universes can fall through too.
Sekai (and his tag-along wormwood) occassionally fall into other universes due to Wormwood's own research into interdimensional travel. It was the very reason he sought out a host - someone proven to be able to handle the trip. Sekai hates this. HATES THIS. Let him have junk food and video games again!
#ocs#oc sekai ishida#oc wormwood#isekai story idea#rambling#me and multiple family members have physical disabilities so I wanted to see more people like that in isekai stories#at least half of us are neurodivergent too#sekai was born from a joke where the abberations from a dnd world would be more scared of some kid who fell out of another universe

Got some of my parts for Mini Himeno.
Front parts are from Emilia from Re:Zero. I managed to get 2. 1 sourced from Chibi Chop Shop, the other from the Swacchao series.
Ponytail is from Darkness from KonoSuba while the braid is from Asuna from SAO. Both will require filling and sanding for a perfect fit. I'm planning on having the ponytail as brunette Himeno and the braid as blonde.
On the Swacchao seat in the Emilia and Asuna bodies:
Debating on repainting them... can't give any to Rita because skirts...
The reason why I wanted 2 options was simply because I'm also planning on making a Chapter 2 Rita head as well. One option for them that was readily available was Rem from Re:Zero in terms of hair length and having an eye covered.
The eye kinda peeks out bc the bangs don't go all the way down the face but I think it works pretty well. Just gotta remove the headband, fill and sand before painting.
Also got another Swacchao coming in for the character Shokudaikiri Mitsutada from Touken Ranbu.
Another option for Short Hair Rita but the style is leaning more towards the Ice Imprisonment effect so I look forward to that.

Spring 2024 Anime Roundup
Anime of the Season – Delicious in Dungeon
Source readers both online and in my own house have been talking this series up for years, so when I saw that it was getting an anime, and that Trigger would be the ones adapting it, I was pretty excited. Despite that excitement, I admit that it took a little bit to grow on me.
At the beginning, I found it awkward that the crew was in a hurry to get back into the dungeon to resurrect a party member before she’s digested by the dragon who wiped them out, but the story kept stopping to describe in detail the monsters they caught and prepared for dinner. Once I started to see more of the way the dungeon worked, with its resurrection mechanic making death merely annoying for adventurers, and the complex population of dungeon creatures representing a whole thriving ecosystem, the pace began to make sense, and the plot started to really take off. Being hungry is what lead to their party getting wiped out in the first place, so they have to work with the dungeon as another cog in its gears if they want different results this time. As they travel deeper into the dungeon, the wild situations and plot twists lead the characters to gradually reveal more depth as they respond to the challenges, and coupled with an excellent voice cast and fantastic visuals, it truly becomes a superb fantasy anime by the end of the second cour. Once the second season adapts the entire manga in full, this will be one of those series we’ll be talking about for many years. 9/10
First Runner-Up – Tonari no Yokai-san
The way this series began, it seemed like it was going to be a laid-back slice of life about the people living in a rural Japanese village in an alternate reality where humans and yokai coexist together. Eventually, though, it revealed its more dramatic ambitions, and tested the connections the characters had with each other through a series of unusual events. I think I liked it best when it was quietly focused on the characters daily lives, but the sci-fi flavored ending made for an emotional finish. 8/10
Second Runner-Up – Oblivion Battery
I don’t like amnesia plots, and I find Mamoru Miyano’s zany comedy mode to be nigh insufferable, so I nearly dropped this series after one episode when he was voicing an amnesiac catcher who yells bad jokes until someone breaks out in pity laughter. Luckily for me, the show got better and better each week as it added more lost boys to the baseball team and handled everything from the yips, toxic sports culture, and disordered eating, all with tons of feeling and superbly directed animation. 8/10
Black Butler: Public School Arc – Ciel and Sebastian infiltrate an elite school to get to the bottom of a missing persons case, and find themselves involved in everything from underhanded bullying schemes to intense cricket matches as they stalk their prey. I can’t say this is my favorite arc in the series, but it was so good to see the Black Butler gang back in a TV anime, and with better visuals than before. 8/10
Vampire Dormitory – A girl passing as a guy while living on the streets becomes the thrall of a handsome young vampire, moves into his dorm room, and begins an absurd, gender-bending romantic adventure. At no point could I guess what was going to happen next, because the mangaka’s galaxy brain was operating on a level I can’t reach, but I’ll always remember it fondly as highly entertaining shoujo camp. 7/10
I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability – Every season there’s a show I didn’t look twice at before the season started that turns into one of my favorites, and this was it this spring. By all rights, I should’ve been driven off by the busty maids and the ten year old protagonist’s booty shorts and rosy knees, but he’s such a likeable little magic-obsessed gremlin, and the magic battles were so well designed, that I couldn’t help but have a great time. 7/10
KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! S3 – There’s just something magical about the main quartet in this series that makes the sort of raunchy situations they get into hilarious rather than obnoxious. It’s all the standard stuff of ecchi-adjacent shounen series, but the character’s chemistry and the story’s commitment to the bit makes it impossible not to laugh along with them. 7/10
Kaiju No. 8 – This series centered on a guy who’s been turned into a humanoid kaiju, who uses his new power to join the force that fights against the monsters, doesn’t really do anything that a million other shounen action series hasn’t done before, but the animation quality is pretty great, and the all-adult cast has good chemistry, making them fun to watch. Depending on the choices the story makes from here, it could easily go stale, but they’ve given me an promising setup with this opening arc. 7/10
Train to the End of the World – A group of high school girls from a small town take a wild train ride through a world turned inside out by the activation of a 7G wireless network on a journey to find their friend in Ikebukuro. The bizarre, chaotic world created by 7G is unique and fun, with each stop on the train line having its own kind of madness for the girls to navigate, and it makes for a good adventure story. It needed more ambitious visuals, or a slightly deeper story, to be a great anime, but it was consistently entertaining week after week. 7/10
Tadaima, Okaeri – While I found the omegaverse content confusing and a bit weird the whole way through, I’m glad I gave this a try. Not only is it useful to know for sure what you’re not into, I definitely enjoyed more of this than I didn’t. It did some very welcome things with showing a young married gay couple being physically affectionate and doting on their kids like a typical family, and the story did a good job with topics like reconciling with estranged family and making friends as adults. 7/10
Laid-Back Camp S3 – The camp girls return, and this season had them tackle everything from backyard camping, to touring various suspension bridges, to the many kinds of vintage trains still serving remote areas. This season lacked a bit of the magic that made me love the previous seasons, although I’d be hard-pressed to point to any one reason why, but it still reliably delivered an effective dose of chill each week, and had a top notch OP to boot. 7/10
Wind Breaker – Delinquents seem to be having a moment in anime right now, and this season’s entry has the main character showing up with a chip on his shoulder and planning to fight for the top, only to find out his school of tough fighters acts as a local defense force and mutual aid society. The large cast is stacked with colorful, likeable characters you want to root for in their nicely animated fights. If it wasn’t for an awkwardly placed, overly long arc involving a rival team, it could’ve been a great show instead of a good one. 7/10
Tonbo! – A former pro golfer hits a low point in his life and moves to a small island south of Kyushu to start a new job, where he meets a middle school girl with a wild talent for golf. The production values are not particularly high, but the writer’s deep knowledge of the sport really comes through, and it was a lot of fun to watch the heterodox, instinctual Tonbo confound the experienced golfers she meets along the way. I look forward to the second half this fall. 7/10
Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy S2 – I remember really enjoying season one of this series, and thought it was a fun romp that played around with common isekai tropes, but I don’t feel like I got that from this sequel. The plot cut around abruptly at some points, dragged on at others, and never totally got me on board with his scheming and maneuvering. I still enjoy the cast, and I’ll probably keep watching the series, but it definitely felt like a downgrade. 6/10
Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji – Adapting a stage play that adapted part of a mobile game, the swords reanimated as handsome guys go to the Sengoku period to make sure Nobunaga’s end goes the way it’s supposed to. The plot is quite similar to Katsugeki Touken Ranbu, but with less impressive visuals, and a more annoying focus character. I got more Mikazuki Munechika (my beloved), though, so I was mostly satisfied. 6/10
A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics – If you watched Hinamatsuri and thought that it would be better with sleazy fanservice, generic light novel art, and less funny jokes, then this is the anime for you. It was entertaining enough to watch the characters flail around, but it hits nearly all the same plot beats as a much better series, and it’s hard not to compare them. 6/10
Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again – I hung in after a plainly bad first episode, and I’m glad I did, because it shaped into a genuinely enjoyable comedic slice of life that looked at growing old, rural depopulation, and passing things on to younger generations. The production was just a little too economical to quite call it good. 6/10
Astro Note – In a pretty clear nod to the classic series Maison Ikkoku, a young man moves into a boarding house full of boisterous residents and immediately becomes smitten with the young owner. Unlike the other series, though, this one involves aliens and a talking dog. Whether or not someone would enjoy this series likely hinges on how well the comedy direction lands for them, and a lot of it left me cold, especially the reaction faces. 6/10
Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night – I honestly enjoyed the first half of this original series following four girls drifting aimlessly in their lives who come together to form a virtual pop group. The visuals were excellent, and the voice actors were giving great performances despite the occasionally awkward dialog. Starting from something I’ll call the “boob incident” in episode seven, however, the show lost all of my trust, and the writing fell apart at the seams before limping through the finale with a pile of overly facile resolutions. 5/10
Unnamed Memory – Sometimes you don’t need to be familiar with the source material to know that the show you’re watching is doing an awful job of adapting the story. Whoever did the series composition here has abridged the life out of the text, stripping out all character development and story background we needed to feel for our cursed male lead and his forbidden romance with a witch with a tragic history. Without this connective tissue, the plot cuts abruptly from scene to scene, leaving the viewer behind. 4/10
A Condition Called Love – I probably should’ve just dropped this at the three episode mark, but so many people in shoujo fandom stan it that I wanted to see if there was something more to it. Unfortunately, my opinion remains the same in the end: he’s a pile of red flag maladaptive behaviors, and a teenage girlfriend who can’t tell when she’s been wronged by people is not a substitute for therapy. I couldn’t root for the romance, and the production ranged from mediocre to straight up bad. 4/10

And since we're talking about anime, here's what I'm watching right now:
Demon Slayer season 4: Since this is the last good arc of the manga before everything goes to shit, I'm keeping up with it for the last time, plus Genya, the best Demon Slayer character don't @ me, finally makes his debut, while Zenitsu, the objectively worst character, is completely absent.
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Road to the Top: I'm a shameless fan of the horsegirls series, so of course I'm watching this one, the first episode dropped today, and it's looking promising! Also I really like how it's slowly turning into an anthology series, where each season is devoted to new characters.
My Clueless First Friend: The obligatory cute anime I watch to pass the time, and it is indeed cute, if a bit formulaic, but I really like both main characters so I'm watching it until the end.
Heavenly Delusion: I knew nothing about it before getting in, and man it's been a fantastic ride so far, plus it has one of the best animations of this season, not to mention the constant twists and turns. It's a bit horny, but so far it feels natural, at least for japanese standards, plus there's this weird twist many in Tumblr might or might not enjoy.
Gundam Wing: The Witch from Mercury (part 2): Since Wing I hadn't watched a Gundam series, and so far it's been a fantastic ride, Suletta is as awkward and naïve as she is ruthlessly adorable, the animation is fantastic, the best of the season (Demon Slayer's is too bombastic imo), and the overarching plot just gets darker and darker, I love it!
Rokudou no Onna-tachi: I followed the manga for years until its conclusion, it's a solid story overall although it suffers from the usual issue of shonen stories of not knowing when to stop scaling up fights. The anime itself has been a mediocre ride in terms of the animation, but I still love the story so I'm sticking around until the end.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles: More or less the same with Rokudou, good source material but with a mediocre adaptation, and the manga, although not finished, its about to (and poorly too, unlike Rokudou), this one I may end up dropping if the animation continues to be underwhelming.
Konosuba Megumin prequel: I'm a big Konosuba fan so I was really looking forward to this one, but... It just doesn't have the same energy as the OG series, I haven't even watched this week's episode. I may give it another chance, but if I still feel the same, I'll drop it.
KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World: There were so many fucking isekai shows this season, I decided to at least give this one a chance and... Eh, it's alright, may or may not keep up with it.
Overall it's a much more interesting season that the last one, but mostly because I'm very familiar with most of the stuff covered.

Off the Cuff Spring 2023 Anime Impressions
I'm only going to talk about the shows I'm currently watching, as I obviously can't have opinions on something I'm not watching. Also, these are made with about 4-5 episodes seen, so they are subject to change.
I don't know where to stick this as well, but I did watch the first three episodes of Yuri is my Job but it ultimately wasn't my thing. Rating: Fine, I'll just pass, as it's not my humor.
Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible: Wait, wasn't this a Winter 2022 anime? Yes, it was, but the back half of it was delayed until the back half of Spring, which is a damn shame, because this show is genuinely really fucking good. I thought it would be a pretty boring painfully straight romance but it's got a surprisingly quick pace for romance and it's nice to see a female lead not beat around the bush with her feelings. It's not perfect (watch Horimiya if you want that), but it's got it's own fun feel to it that I enjoy. Rating: Great-Excellent!
Heavenly Delusion: I really like the tone of this one. It's a brutal world, but the way that the two main leads are spark of hope in the desolate land is really nice. I really hope this doesn't end on a cliffhanger and ends with a proper ending because there is a lot of good story telling going on here. I also enjoy the B-Plot a lot, very Promised Neverland (season 1, of course) which is some very high praise. I really hope this show sticks the landing because damn did it hit the ground running. If it keeps up, there's a good chance this is the sleeper hit of the season. Rating: Great-Excellent!
Insomniacs After School: Love the premise. The dynamic between the two leads is genuinely really fun and night life is always really fun to explore. I do wonder where they're going with the story, and as far as slice of life chill anime go, it's one of the better ones. I just really hope those flags she's waving around aren't death flags. Rating: Great!
KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World: It's fine. It's undoubtedly worse than it's parent story, but it's still an okay romp. I for sure would not be watching this if I didn't know the source material already, as the cast is just not as interesting as the one in Konosuba. They essentially took the character of Megumin and just... cloned her. Her and YunYun's dynamic is honestly really good though, so maybe they'll do something with it. Maybe they're going somewhere different in tone than Konosuba but for now it's only alright. Rating: Fine-Good.
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999: Shojo romance hits different, for starters, so I'm already pretty biased here. The first couple episodes was pretty good, but the direction they're taking the story is concerning me a bit, not that it's bad, just boring. I've bounced around a lot on my rating for this, but as it stands it's mostly just a generically good romance with a strong premise that they have to use a bit better. Mayhap after this plot point has been wrapped up they'll get back on track. Rating: Good, almost Great.
Skip to Loafer: Don't let the generic as hell premise fool you, this is a really fun and well written slice of life about being yourself in a big city. I actually read the manga after watching the first episode because of Nao-chan (a canonical, well written trans woman!!!) and I can safely say the anime is going to keep up it's feel good nature all the way to the end. I also really really like the dynamic between the two towns, how quiet her home town is compared to when she's at school. Rating: Great!
The Dangers in My Heart: This is a completely dogshit premise, which is good, because the writers are terrible at using it. I'm serious, the less they care about it's selling the better the show is. 5 episodes in, they seem to drop the weird fetishy school shooter vibes in favor of being an actually sweet romance. I just hope they keep it up because holy SHIT were the first couple episodes hard as shit to watch. I'm really, really trusting manga readers here when they say it stays sweet and not as bad as the premise would leave you to believe. Rating: Bleh to start, and now the most reluctant Good of my life.
