had some convos tonight im a little buzzed but here are my takeaways. these might start some fires.
somehow they person I talked with is both Anakin apologist and Anakin critical. Idk how they have that exist at the same time, but I'd like to say this to him: the Jedi were victims, the Jedi were not evil, no Obi-Wan isn't evil, Obi-Wan didn't repress and abuse Anakin, no Qui-Gon Jinn was not the bestest Jedi who did things differently than any other Jedi and if only he lived he would've saved Anakin Skywalker. Anakin Skywalker did not fall because he was sleep deprived and had one bad day, he fell for a number of reasons, including that he made choices, which choice as a theme is something George Lucas very deliberately has chosen to emphasize repeatedly in Star Wars. Also, Jyn Erso is an actually interesting character and I think she does care about rebelling, the problem is the repressive totalitarian regime she lives in. It's understandable she'd be a little cynical and despondent after 20 years of Empire. TLJ is not the best sequel trilogy movie, Kylo Ren's a little bitch and should've died sooner. Dave Filoni can kiss my ass. "within the context of the prequels it's hard to see the jedi as the good guys --" no. absolutely not. get some reading comprehension you moron. that's the whole point. the whole point is the jedi were the victims of a plot designed to force them into a position where all they had were bad choices. Anakin chose to murder men, women, and children long before he ever became Darth Vader which is a fact so many people seem to gloss over. "they killed his mother -" and?? he didn't just kill her torturers, he killed children, too. your boy committed massacres and genocides in canon. im not talking about legends or any recent books in comics, but solely about the movies. I get still liking him as a character, but to say that Anakin has done nothing wrong is a take that I just can't understand.
folk music is different than country music. im sorry but it is. yes there are similarities. no I can't explain the differences. but country music is not necessarily folk music, or "stomp-clap" music as you called it. tell me you don't listen to country without telling me. arguably the best argument you could've made about the push back of country music pop-ification is the rise in popularity of artists like Zach Bryan, but you didn't, you started talking about fucking Mumford & Sons. my good dude. no. google them. they're literally described as a folk rock band.
edited 6/23 bc I realized I was drunker then i thought and this was semi-incoherent. hopefully that clarifies things.
#me#dont get me wrong I do love my boy anakin#but Anakin made choices#yeah palpatine groomed him but legit we have a whole scene in rots where palpatine asks Anakin to join him and Anakin says no#its only when palpatine uses padme that Anakin joins him#“the space monk cultists fucked him up by raising him to be space Jesus” okay then cite your sources#oh who said Anakin's the chosen one qui-gon?#the very qui-gon you said if had he lived then Anakin wouldn't have fallen?#stop christianizing Star Wars so heavily#the jedi order were a religious order yes but I'd argue against them being a cult#you could leave!!!#Anakin could've left!!!!#ANAKIN COULD HAVE AT ANY TIME WILLINGLY LEFT THE JEDI!!!#discounting all the stuff in legends#we see jedi in the clone wars tv show appearing to actively practice other religious beliefs!!!!#Plo Koon is a sage!! I forget the rest of the name for it and I think this has been recanonized#depa billaba has her mark of illumination#bariss offee follows mirialan practices like covering her hair and even appears to be praying/meditating to what is likely a mirialan god#George Lucas himself has specifically said that Anakin fell because he was greedy and selfish#George Lucas has said multiple times there's a difference between love and attachment#AHHHHHHHH#edited 6/23 and adding that George Lucas has spoken about how the prequels are about a democracy becoming a dictatorship#and anakin helps with this!! you can argue that anakin could be comparable to your ex-bf who fell into the conspiracy theory rabbit hole#and now believes that insert politician here is the one true savior#except Anakin knows that what he is doing is wrong and he still chooses to do it anyways because it benefits him

Me after seeing Riyo Chuchi’s “what happens when you get too old to fight” comment, implying they need to think of their accelerated aging, still blatantly refusing to accept the clones-age-twice-as-fast thing as canon:
Tumblr media
*sticks fingers in ears* la la la it’s not a genetically faster aging it’s an environmental treatment in a growth acceleration chamber, a treatment they have to be subjected to and now that kamino is gone they won’t be subjected to it anymore 99 was just an early prototype testing the chamber that’s why he’s old, i mean rex canonically a generation one clone how could 99 be older than a generation one clone it doesn’t make sense…. it’s a growth acceleration chamber and without regular treatment they age normally all those lil’ clone cadets will age normally rex will age normally he looks like That in Rebels bc of stress and stress alone they’ll all age normally it’s fine nothing bad will happen to them ever la la la i cannot hear you it’s fine they’re fine
#clone wars#star wars#the bad batch#the bad batch spoilers#the clone conspiracy#truth and consequences#i know accelerated aging is canon and all#but WHERE do people get this idea that they age twice as fast??#seriously where??#the MECHANISM of age acceleration is never soecified#and hardcase makes a comment about his ‘growth acceleration’ chamber which implies it is a treatment they are subjected to!!#not a natural feature of their genetics!#seriously show me the source that says they age at a faster rate#why do all star wars fans assume rex is aging twice as fast as a normal human#not necessarily! like stress will age you; you know#shave the grey beard off and he doesn’t look that old does he#clone wars is 22 BBY so if we say he’s 20 at the start 20 + 22 by the battle of yavin = 42#+ 4 years bc ROTJ is 4ABY#so 46 by my math#seems a reasonable number to me!!#if you go by the ‘they age twice as fast’ theory#going by that one star wars novelisation where ahsoka says ‘im not a child! im 14!’ and rex is like [tries not to laugh]: I’m 10!#then okay we have 10 years old in 22BBY. 13 in 19BBY.#13 + 19 = 32 + 4 years to get to 4ABY = 36 x 2 (for aging twice as fast) = 72 years old at the battle of endor#i don’t really think he looks 72 at the battle of endor!!#a battle-weary and hardened-by-life 46 yes but not 72!#rebels is 15 years after tcw#so 13 in 19BBY. 13 + 15 = 28 yo. x 2 for ‘aging twice as fast’ =#56 by the time he appears in rebels#from his first appearance

The other one was getting long
Tumblr media
“What do your gorgeous baby blues see?”
Obi-Wan lets his middle finger speak, earning a chuckle from Quin. “Target, two clicks east,” he signs quick and efficient with one hand. Cody has been showing him the shortcut hand signals the clones have adapted from military and basic sign language. Obi-Wan has, in turn, shown him what one can do with the other hand not occupied with signing.
It has been rather eye opening, over all, how the clones deal with their lot in life.
Their cruel, drenched in suffering life, Obi-Wan thinks, and the leather of his glove squeaks with how hard he’s gripping the edge of the roof.
“Credit for your thoughts.”
Obi-Wan shakes himself out his own mind, focuses back on their mission. “When we’re back on Coruscant,” he signs, is pleased with Quin raising curious brows, “I want you to ask Commander Fox if he’s inclined to share tea with you.”
A pebble floats up from the ground and nails Obi-Wan in the side of his head. “I don’t need you to be my wingman.”
“You need someone with more flirting expertise than I can possibly provide to be your wingman, my friend.” The empty huff of a chuckle escapes him when Quin turns into a cloud of indignation. “I want you to shake him for information. Something isn’t right.”
“Target’s moving, just like planned,” Quin murmurs, keen eyes following the spice dealer. “Can’t you fuck your own Commander for intel? I heard he’s got a great ass from all the droid kicking.”
“He’s very stubborn,” he replies, fiddling the data pad out of his satchel. “Commander Fox is,” he hesitates, which isn’t a planned move, but it’s got Quin’s full attention now, “closer to a source I want to tap.”
And he’s lost Quin’s attention just like that. “Could you stop spinning conspiracies about the Chancellor? He’s a kind old man, beloved by all, bla bla.”
“He’s a politician. And I still don’t know what happened to Anakin—“ Fierce, sweet boy, could definitely hurt a fly. Obi-Wan had been gone for a month and he had come back to Ani tossed and turned by dark falsehoods.
“Depa and the mind healers have done a good job with that kid.”
Still. Coming back to Coruscant after long stretches is like being slowly sniffed out in the Force. His jaw aches like it hasn’t in a decade. “Talk with Fox, please.”
Quin sighs, rolls his neck, and flicks his chin at their target. “Come on, a spice lab is waiting for us.”
Together they step over the ledge, wind and gravity grabbing at them for twenty stories before the Force catches them.

Inside the Deep-State Cloning Labs: Clones, Doubles, Actors, and CGI—The Greatest Show On Earth 🍿
Biden was already old. Gray hair. But look closely: Hair style. Complexion. Nose structure. Chin. Mouth. Does it all align? Or are we staring at something far more sinister?
The excuses keep coming: Plastic surgery. Aging. But is that enough to justify the glaring differences? No. It’s time to pull back the curtain.
The Cloning Agenda Unveiled 👇
Reports suggest Biden isn’t Biden. A clone, failing before our eyes. His voice altered, his features disintegrating, and yes—his ears seem to be falling off his face. This is no accident.
The Kamino Corporation—a shadowy operation behind these clones—was allegedly approached by the DNC in 2019. By April, Biden’s clone was ready to run for office. The model? A T-1000, initially flawless but now deteriorating rapidly. And it’s not just him. Sources suggest Marjorie Taylor Greene herself could be another clone—crafted from the same tech.
Widespread Clone Recall in Progress 👇
The cloning company is now recalling their T-series models after mass failures. Nancy Pelosi, Olsen twins, Guy Fieri, Boris Johnson, Tom Brady—all suspected clones. The fix? A sinister "patch" of hydroxychloroquine and adrenochrome, designed to slow cellular decay but incapable of erasing character flaws.
Executions, GITMO, and Replacements 👇
Tribunals authorized by Trump’s Executive Order have reportedly been running since 2019. Charges? Treason, crimes against humanity. Results? Executions. Clones and doubles now serve as placeholders, masking the truth until the public awakens to the depths of their depravity.
Inside the Labyrinth: Revelations from a Deep-State Scientist 👇
Captured in 2023, a cloning scientist unveiled the horrifying scope of the operation. These clones, designed to live only three years, are summoned back to reclamation centers before their programmed expiration. There, they’re dissolved in acid and replaced by new facsimiles.
He revealed that Joseph Biden has had three clones released since 2012. The real Biden? Some speculate that possibly he was eliminated under Obama’s regime. Each clone is equipped with a microchip—a GPS, health tracker, and a recall system ensuring secrecy.
The Rabbit Hole Runs Deep 👇
This conspiracy is not just about politics. It’s about control, deception, and domination. The exposure of these clones forces us to confront the hidden hands pulling the strings. Who else among us is real?
Stay Vigilant. The storm is here.
We’ve waited for years… and now it’s here. The Deep State’s downfall has begun, and nothing can stop it now. 🤔

i think it would be funny if conner ran a tiktok account where he talks about conspiracy theories and he's actually really serious and passionate about it. one time someone asks him to do a video about government cloning and he just stares blankly into the camera and goes "oh cloning is absolutely real, they just don't tell you about it"
one person comments on the video something like "source: trust me bro" and conner replies back with "i am the source"

Any RPGs about being an unethical mad scientist or being a mad scientist's creation? Like creating an orangutan with buzzsaws for hands, a horribly mutated two-headed crocodile, grafting a rocket launcher onto a demon's back, giant biomechanical monstrosities, etc.
THEME: Mad Scientist’s Paradise
Hello, so I have a few games that seem specifically tied to mad science, but I also found some games about mutant animals that are a bit more focused on a post-apocalypse. I hope they are still close enough to what you are looking for!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Metamorphosis BX, by Tragos Games.
Metamorphosis BX is a post-apocalyptical MiniBX hack in which you'll roleplay a hybrid survivor in an ever-changing world in which a cataclysm fragmented time and space. It is light both in mechanics and tone, aiming to be fun above all.
This is one of the games where your strange mutations and abilities don’t necessarily come from mad science; but I think they could, if you wanted them to. This is a game that employs the use of roll-tables and gives your characters both benign and malign mutations, with different sized pools of different size dice for your hit dice. What is interesting is that you have a list of different dice pools on what is called your hit dice double-helix, aka HDDH - taking your highest dice from your dice pool every time you take a hit. This encourages your characters to end fights quickly, or avoid them when you can - and it also makes for a highly lethal game.
Mutants in the Now, by Julian Kay.
In the ‘80s and ‘90s, they ruled the streets, kick-flipping off of villainous faces and slipping into the shadows. Then, they vanished from the world of tabletop gaming.
But they’re back. And ready to KICK BUTT.
Mutants in the Now is a retromodern retake on the mutant animal role-playing games long past and left behind by licensing. Mutants fight to survive, thrive, and make the world better for themselves and humanity.
I’m not entirely sure what the origin of your mutation is in this game, and it seems that’s the point. The source of your mutations is meant to be a mystery, although big tech corporations, alien conspiracies, and psychic ninjas are all on the list of potential bad-guys. The game itself has a multitude of good reviews, with a lot of praise for the flexibility available to you at character creation, and a large amount of love for the random tables.
If this game sounds interesting but you want something a little less scienc-ey, you might also want to check out the Mutants in the Next supplement, which adds in cryptids, mythical beasts, and a post-apocalypse setting to throw at your characters.
CyberRats, by Alex Rinehart.
You are genetically engineered Operatives addicted to Biotech, a glowing gel that gives you superhuman powers.
The world is being invaded by extraterrestrials known as Interlopers. You have been employed by a megacorp to ensure that the aliens don't win, and that if they are stopped, it's you who does it, and not some rival corporation.
Winning won't be easy. But it also won't be enough. The right corp must get credit.
Can you stop the aliens? Will you sabotage the military to steal equipment and defense contracts from your competitors? How many Operatives will you lose before you taste victory?
Cyberrats, an illuminated RPG.
Here’s a game all about being lab rats - literally! Cyberrats is a fast-paced shoot-em-up about genetically engineered rats addicted to the substance that gives them super-human powers, up against a terrifying alien threat. Your characters can be altered biologically, but also cybernetically, so I have a feeling rocket launchers and exo-suits are on the table here!
If you want to hear what this game plays like, you can check out the Cyberrats Radio Hour, a 30-minute episode full of alien combat and explosions.
Bio-Drones & Cryo-Clones, by ChrisAir.
Bio-Drones & Cryo-Clones is a 48pg biopunk facility-crawl for Mothership RPG, inspired by the body horror of Cronenberg’s The Fly and a twisted take on Metroidvania “save stations.” This zine is the first installment of The Sleeper Crew Adventures zine series.
PCs wake up in the Mountain Forces R&D Facility, dropped smack center into the plans of a scientist gone mad in her love for the dead despot that once owned the world. Players must gather clues, navigate NPC motivations, evade monstrosities before they Become the Mutants.
This is less of a gonzo scenario and more built for fans of horror, putting the player characters in a hostile lab environment and threatening them with a number of mutations as they try to find a way to stop the mad scientist big-bad of the adventure.
This isn’t a standalone game, but rather a module for Mothership, which is a game set inspired by Alien and has many, many different kinds of modules that you can run in many different horror scenarios. This module looks rather extensively developed, with printable maps, a set of VTT tokens, and art for all of the listed NPCs and Creatures. If you want a game full of suspense and horror, you should check out Bio-Drones & Cryo-Clones!
The UPLIFT, by Kurt Potts.
The Uplift is a tabletop RPG about cybernetically uplifted animal heroes saving the galaxy with superpowers! Think Guardians of the Galaxy, but you're all playing Rocket.
You awaken to find you are both less and more, you are both old and new.
You play animals who've been cybernetically uplifted by some mysterious company or lab. Through your adventures you may get the chance to learn why this was done to you, but by then it may not matter anymore. You're a hero and the galaxy needs saving.
Describe yourself in four steps, and let the GM describe to you the situation the crew finds themselves in. You roll 2d6 for pretty much everything you try, with modifiers for advantages and disadvantages. Each character will have one super-power that allows you to add a third d6 to certain rolls, to increase your chance of beating the difficulty score. You can risk personal injury or busted implants on a failure, and then spend downtime later to fix yourself up.
I like that the designer of this game took the basic rules of WSCA games and combined them with tools like clocks and downtime, which are commonly seen from Forged in the Dark games. It allows the players to deal with bigger setbacks during play, because you know you’ll have a chance to fix them down the road. That being said, you can still choose to die a heroic death if you still want to!
Science & Sabotage, by Live Real Press.
You are a team of evil mad scientists, hell-bent on creating a doomsday device that can bring the world to its knees.
Unfortunately, there is competition for the honor. You must finish your device before they finish their device.
You don't have time to play fair.
This is a game where you actually get to play the mad scientists, rather than their creations. It’s built off of the famous Lasers & Feelings structure, so you just need a d6 or two to play. Race against a rival team of mad scientists to be the first one to destroy the world - or at least, to threaten the world with destruction. This is probably good for a single one-shot, or perhaps, if you want to combine it with one of the other games here, you might want to use this game as a set-up for the event that destroyed the world, or perhaps your scientists are instead racing to be the first to cause mutations on a global scale!
Blister Critters, by stillfleet.
Pick your favorite varmint, grab your dice, and roleplay as a cartoon animal on a radiation-blasted Saturday-morning show!
The humans are gone just like the ozone layer, and the world they left behind is overflowing with danger…
In this innovative and surreal game, you play as a small animal who can wield bizarre mutations called Blisters as well as physics-bending Nonsense powers. These strange abilities—artfully developed within the Grit System—will help you survive in a vast, cruel suburbia populated by fellow Critters and their feral counterparts, Beasts.
The sun will mutate you and give you special powers as you scavenge the piles and piles of loot that the humans have no more use for. The tone of this game is very much like a Saturday-morning cartoon, but you can also turn up the gritty dial and make it about the harshness of this new world if you want to. Blister Critters uses a number of different polyhedral dice, with larger dice assigned to traits you’re good at and smaller dice assigned to traits you’re… not so good at. Your character also has two pools that can diminish: Health and Grit, which represent your hit points and your energy respectively. Your Grit can be spent to power the special abilities given to you by your Blisters, so the course of gameplay will likely require balancing your resources as you work through various obstacles.
The Kickstarter has finished for this game, but you might want to keep an eye on it so you can see when the final product is published. In the meantime, you can also check out the Quickstart, as well as the entries to the Critter City Crawl Jam.

Dove Cameron’s Alchemical album is so fucking bat coded I feel like a conspiracy theorist.
(This went off the rails at one point, so WARNING: vague mentions of sexual assault and being drugged without consent)
First song: Lethal Woman.
Cass, all over, right? The bridge is “she walks like a saint, floats like an angel, sharp like a knife under the table”
c o m e o n
Second song: Still.
“Man on the screen, they only see whatever you want them to see” and “Supernova self-erasing, hourglass is always draining”
Could be either Tim or Bruce, but I lean toward Tim because of “how dare you, dare me to love you, if you jump I will too” because whenever Tim decides he loves someone, he’s the ride or die, ends of the earth type, even if they don’t even know who he is. A) how and why he became Robin in the first place, B) The Cloning Thing, C) an argument could be made for the Captain Boomerang thing (but now that I think of it, I think I’m mostly basing this off fanon oh well ontotgenextone).
Song Three: Breakfast.
I will admit out the gate that this one’s a reach, so I’m just going to leave Selina here.
Song Four: Sand.
For this I’m thinking Tim or Jason, for different reasons.
For Tim;
“I saw the end when we began, you couldn’t love the way I can, I tried to bargain with the stars, for more than half your heart but you have more pieces of me than the dessert has sand, and I have less pieces of you than I could hold in my hand” and “our love’s misaligned, ‘cause you’re on my mind every night, I stretch out the time, and now I know why.”
I’m just making it obvious I read the Red Robin run, aren’t I?
For Jason:
“What's worse, being wanted but not loved, or loved but not wanted? What's worse, hearing what you wanna hear, or hearing what's honest?” And “What hurts, is the one thing that you wanna do, is the one thing that you shouldn’t do”
Pre-death Jason, but like, right after the Garzonas thing.
Song five: White Glove.
Okay hear me out.
This is part one of the Dick Grayson saga; the persona he shows to the public. This is Richie Wayne. This is every honeypot mission he went on too young, every woman he’s had to seduce for information (it’s one hundred percent happened before don’t fight me) every source of sexual trauma (that one I’m ninety percent sure is canon) that keeps him up at night.
And this guy’s been a vigilante for over twenty years, he can absolutely recognize drugs by sight, smell, and how they feel when he’s too late to notice something slipped in his drink. He’s felt nearly every strain of fear toxin and every one of Ivy’s pollens. If anyone knows their drugs it’s pretty boy Richie Wayne and Robin.
Song six: God’s Game
This one I’m definitely taking some lines out of context, but for Jason, “Just a boy with a man's face, playin' God's game” is when he’s taking over Crime Alley, pit-mad and trigger happy. “I prepare with so much care, I was runnin', it was stunnin', I am desperate from delusions, not much of a solution, never knowin' what the truth is, oh, God” is when hid plans start to fall apart, when Bruce slits his throat with a batarang, when eventually the pit-madness eventually starts to wear off and he realizes what all he did to Tim, who was a child at the time, not to mention Robin.
He nearly became what the Joker was to him to the next Robin, and I feel like at some point that would occur to him.
Song seven: Boyfriend.
(…Admittedly, I don’t think this one has any grounding in canon and if it does, feel free to educate me.)
So, obviously I could mention Kate Kane at this point, but I know basically nothing about her, so instead I’m going to talk about Steph.
So Steph has definitely had some shitty experiences with guys, right? Like, her dad to begin with, but also the guy who got her pregnant (at like fourteen? Maybe I’m just sheltered, but I don’t think anything about that relationship was heathy—again, I haven’t read many of the comics, so correct me if I’m wrong), then Tim, which, I love him as a character, but didn’t he date her in the mask for like, months, and I have some vague recollections of some dickish things he said (i know i know i need to read more comics)—whatever. Men are shitty.
I have a scene in my head. Like, Steph’s in college, at a bar with friends or something, maybe it’s an under cover op, idk, and there’s this girl she’s been lowkey watching all night. She doesn’t quite know why, but she just keeps catching her eye, and okay, it’s not like she’s never questioned her sexuality, she knows Cass. There have been Extensive conversations with Babs on the subject.
Anyway, so at some point, there’s obviously some sort of argument between the girl and the guy she came with and the girl’s crying, and Steph just Can’t Handle That.
She goes up to her, comforts her, makes a new friend, listens to the whole story.
And at some point, she has the thought.
“I could be a better boyfriend than him.”
She doesn’t necessarily do anything about it that night, but now that she’s had the thought, it won’t leave her alone.
Yeah. So. Maybe I’ll write that story later.
Song eight (last song): FRAGILE THINGS.
Dick Grayson part two; So your mentor (dad) just died, leaving you an angry murder child, another one hanging on by a thread after losing eighty percent of his support system, a grieving butler (grandfather), and a mantle the size of the Most Dangerous City in America. Any direction you move is going to hurt someone, and one kid is more likely to snap and murder people than the other, and hey, if you have to be Batman anyway, might as well let your brilliant kid brother be Nightwing, right? Except, whoops, you forgot to mention that last part and now Timmy thinks you just replaced him without telling him and fuck you knew you were forgetting something and now there’s a goddamned imposter Bruce and—
“Love is like a house of fragile things, where hearts can be broken as easy as antiques, and now there’s glass all shattered at my feet, what we built together, you left in smithereens.”
Anyway. This got kind of incoherent (or maybe it was from the start?)
I accidentally added a poll at the bottom and can’t figure out how to remove it, so.

You said Fives got busy while on the run. What did he get up to?
Well, firstly he had to get himself some medical attention...
Which is easier said than done, since his face was plastered all over wanted posters (that show his very distinct tattoo), and because there's a lot of anti-clone hostility in certain levels of Coruscant (the upper-levels are generally safer because there's regular patrols keeping things in check, but the lower levels are nothing if not deadly for a lone clone that doesn't know where to go or hide).
Lucky for him, Fives DOES have allies willing to lend him a hand (even if he doesn't know it).
Some of the people and businesses that have established a mutually beneficial relationship with the Coruscant Guard have noticed their recent decline, and have taken it upon themselves to try to keep tabs on them and whatever they get up to (this support system has intervened in various incidents where patrolmen would have been easily killed if not for their help, but unfortunately they can't always get there on time). As soon as the bounty on Fives's head was placed, they (knowing the Guard would do anything to protect a brother) quickly realize something is extremely off about the situation and take matters into their own hands.
Fives barely has time to register being dragged off from the streets into an alley, before he's sedated and transported somewhere where he's looked after until he's able to think coherently again.
After getting medical attention, Fives decides to look further into the inhibitor chips and gather more evidence to present to the Jedi (unaware that Rex & Kix and Anakin & Obi-wan, are already looking into the matter as well and starting to connect the dots).
One thing leads to another, and Fives ends up back on Kamino (seeing as that's the more reliable source of solid proof he can think of, even if it is super risky) only to come across some unexpected surprises in the form of two and a half reconned troopers (the third having not been fully reconned yet).
The two troopers who were fully reconned still have their chips, while the one who's still undergoing the process doesn't have his. That's good enough evidence. So long as he can figure out how to decode them, he can finally hand in two pristine inhibitor chips to the Jedi and prove that the conspiracy is an actual ongoing plot.
Imagine Fives's surprise when he returns and shit has already hit the proverbial fan for Palpatine...
Fives Bean is more disappointed than he is about the two of them not being the ones to swoop in and finish what they started, but the disappointment doesn't last long because Echo returns not too long after and the reunion is very sweet!

So I figured out some of the story for Mega Man Chaos. And why Roll finally decided to get upgraded after all this time.
The gist of it is, Wily worked out how to transport things between universes, but his method only drags things in, so he can't use it to travel. So, he decided to search the multiverse for robots that had managed to actually defeat their version of Mega Man (or at least an equivalent), and then steal and reprogram them to finally conquer the world with.
One of these robots was a girl named Staccato. She's from a universe where the Emerald Spears (the anti-robot terrorist group from the Archie Comics run) eventually decided to fight fire with fire and create their own series of nine Robot Masters (though they called them Execution Units) programmed to destroy every robot and robotics engineer on Earth and then themselves (that last bit is how they justified the blatant hypocrisy of the situation).
Staccato was ESN-009, the last and most powerful of her series, as well as their leader, and was the Spears' answer to Mega Man. She's equipped with a Variable Weapons System, as you'd expect, is made of future tech like Quint thanks to the Spears somehow getting their hands on the Time Skimmer (they even based her face's design on Roll like how Quint was designed to look like Rock as a form of psychological warfare. she's not programmed to think she's Roll from the future though), and instead of having a Buster as her primary weapon she can swap her hands out for what are essentially lightsaber battleaxes. And as you might expect, creating a robot who's mind is almost-but-not-quite equivalent to that of a human child and building their code on a foundation that they and everyone remotely like them shouldn't exist and it's their sole purpose to enforce that doesn't exactly lead to the most stable of Artificial Intelligences.
As you'd guess from the whole "specifically grabbing robots who managed to beat their Mega Man" thing, the Execution Units proved very effective, and eventually Roll was the last member of the Light family left, and one of the very few Robot Masters left on top of that. In one last Hail Mary play, she turned to Wily (because of course her Wily managed to survive. it's what he does) and asked him to turn her into a weapon powerful enough to avenge their families (to Bass's credit as the self-proclaimed Ultimate Robot Master, he lasted longer against Staccato than Rock and Blues combined). He did so, transforming her into Neo Woman, and she tore through the Emerald Spears and the first eight Execution Units like a force of nature.
When Staccato and Neo Woman finally clashed, they pretty much ended up ripping each other apart since they were both hellbent on killing each other with no real desire to survive themselves. Base Universe Wily's dimension snatcher grabbed what was left of Staccato, and as an unforeseen side-effect of the two robots' proximity some of Neo Woman's memories were imprinted on Base Universe Roll. Not anything she can consciously recall, just some weird moments of deja vu, some occasional trauma responses she has no idea of the source of, a terrible sinking feeling that prompts her to insist on getting upgraded so she can watch Rock's back, and somehow knowing who Staccato is despite never having met her.
For Staccato's part, being reprogrammed to be loyal to Wily on top of her horrible base programming is Really Not Fun. Fortunately after she's defeated Quint shows up, snatches her away from both sides, then repairs her and removes both Wily's loyalty programming and the Spears' everything, so now instead of being a genocidal/suicidal axe-murderer she's just Incredibly Traumatized, absolutely drowning in guilt, and lacking any true purpose!
...Look it's a start. And arguably already a massive improvement.
TLDR: Wily's stealing robots from other universes this time, one of them was a super-powered clone of Roll named Staccato made by militant robophobic conspiracy nuts, Roll's haunted by the alternate version of herself from that universe and that's why she got upgraded, after the game Staccato got rescued by Quint and is now free from both Wily and her creators and the healing can begin.

Season 5 Is a Pretty Dark Time for Mulder
S5 is a starkly melancholic season for poor Mulder.
He is incredibly isolated from all other emotional support except Scully (a tenuous connection because of her remission)-- even from his own mother.
Tumblr media
Tena, a very close person in the background of his life, has vanished completely after his confrontation in Demons, cutting him out ruthlessly. She never identifies his body in Redux, never calls after his reappearance in Redux II, and never checks in at any point during the entire season (and doesn't check in until Amor Fati.) We know she has called previously: in Colony, she picks up the phone nonchalantly at Bill Mulder's place, and in Sein und Zeit she tries to get a hold of her son. S5 Mulder never reaches out to her, either, despite having done so numerously in the past: End Game, The Blessing Way, Paper Hearts, etc. This is the first time in their relationship that Tena has so callously disconnected from her son, mimicking the estranged relationship he'd had with Bill Mulder; and it explains his extreme reaction in Gethsemane. Mulder has a deep fear of being alone (fear stated in Aubrey and reiterated in Je Souhaite); and, without his mother there, the only person to stand between himself and his gun is Scully (as she had done before in Demons.) It also explains his devastation in Sein und Zeit: Tena had reentered his life, slightly, after Amor Fati; and he lost her again as well as that buffer other than Scully. He may not be suicidal; but Mulder cannot be alone.
Scully is Mulder's only source of strength, gladly taking on that challenge after she recovers from her remission.
Tumblr media
But, while she had taken the time to reflect on her life and her choices once at death's door, she finds Mulder had not ("Yeah, once at the Ice Capades"): it was too painful to consider a life without her; and he would rather keep his mind narrow-mindedly focused on his goals, like usual, than have to take the blinders off and consider "life on this planet" so soon after almost losing his own sense of "normalcy."
Tumblr media
Not only that, but he's burnt out-- for months he avoids aliens, the Conspiracy, all that tripe-- and that quickly turns to fear when Scully begins to automatically fill his shoes in his "absence" (which she does to a greater extent in S8.) Scully, meanwhile, tries to draw him out with a cheese surprise in Detour, or dish out jokes by a campfire; but he is so focused on his loss of faith (like he's hyper-focused on his losses in the past: S1 about Samantha, S2 about his job and her abduction and his clone sister, S3 about his father's death and Conspiracy involvement, S4 with his sister again and her cancer and his mother, etc.) that he cannot see the forest for the trees.
Not only all of the above, but Mulder also has to watch Scully's reclaimed life fall more and more apart: the very men who his father worked with stole her ova, hybridized her child, and treated her only little girl like a lab rat every day of her life (exactly like he suspects they've done to his sister, or still do.) He has to watch Scully decide to let her daughter die and close back up again so that she can grieve and heal. His family's ties have not only destroyed their own lives, but the life of the woman he loves as well.
Tumblr media
And after all of that, Mulder can't stop Scully's chip (the very chip he lied, cheated, and stole for; and which she can never live without) from mind-controlling her to her near death at the hands of the very aliens he no longer believes in. The guilt from his distrust during Patient X and The Red and the Black twist him up even more; because he doesn't know anymore. That "knowing" had always been his navigator through the lies and half-truths of this long and convoluted journey. Scully cannot rely on him, he thinks, because he cannot rely on himself.
Every action he takes in S5 leads him to greater self-doubt, with Scully saving him over and over again:
Tumblr media
keeping him warm in Detour, trying to comfort him in Post Modern Prometheus, making the executive decision to release Mulder from his obligation to the quest in Emily, trying to pull him from Linda Bowman's control in Kitsunegari, taking a vacation to recover mid-season in Chinga, dragging him from the Kill Switch trailer, covering for his drug-fueled actions in Bad Blood, trying to reignite his passions and beliefs in Patient X and The Red and the Black, trying to understand his precautions in All Souls, beginning to doubt him in The Pine Bluff Variant, and finally reaching an exhausted breaking point in Folie a Deux. When Diana Fowley shows up in The End, Scully has nothing left to offer, believing that Diana stepped in and effortlessly cleaned and stitched up the wound that had been festering all season: handing Mulder paranormal proof of everything, government and aliens included.
And, again, Mulder loses all of it.
It makes sense why her buoyancy in FTF is so easily shattered: she's glad that Mulder is finally striking out, making his own path on the roof; she rewards his efforts with a tease and some amazing banter. But when her support ends up with both of them investigated by OPR and Mulder on the brink of losing his job (which is, what she perceives to be, the only think keeping him together) she slumps: she’s tried and tried and tried, and nothing has worked. She has failed him; and has taken him down not by malicious action, but by being herself.
Tumblr media
This leads perfectly into the rest of the movie (for another time.)
The best part of this series? All of these complicated, morose happenings occur without pulling the entire season's mood down-- because Mulder and Scully are so in sync that, as dour as Mulder gets, Scully is able to pull his head above water. And, while this was a rougher time for Mulder than usual, Scully's support and strength kept him going and "fairly happy."
In Summary
Tena cuts her son out of her life for unexplored reasons (likely due to self-preservation: covering up the past by lying to herself, avoiding her guilt by pretending it never happened) after he confronts her.
Mulder feels incredibly alone, save for Scully-- and forgets to thank her or, at least, let her know (that's why FTF is so important.)
Scully supports Mulder all season, her confidence in his stability diminishing from The Red and the Black until Pine Bluff Variant, becoming obliterated in Folie a Deux, and restored by realizing that he'd been right and she'd been just as "insane" to ignore what was in front of her face. By The End, she has placed all these swirling doubts squarely on her own shoulders, eroding her own self-confidence by comparing her skills and abilities with Diana's seeming ease at swooping in and setting Mulder's world to rights.
And finally: Scully, really, REALLY needed that vacation in Chinga.
Thanks for reading~
Enjoy!

Ken has an interesting theory, but I will take it with a grain of salt b/c he believes in conspiracy theories and thus is probably, deficient in logic and heavily biased
his theory also presumes that aliens are even aware of yokai/spirits and want shit to counteract them.
And I don't think evidence supports that. It's very possible that aliens don't know that spirits are real things that defy logic and science and can hurt them
its possible that the Serpo are targeting these superhumans b/c they're the first time they've encountered weird shit and thus want to learn more
like true, we have evidence that aliens can detect the use of psychic powers and shit, and know about ki and chakras and shit. The Serpo have psychic powers. The Kur have technology that can harvest souls as power sources for their suits and have tech that can drain ki
And we can assume that some aliens can see phenomenon like yokai but it would be presumptuous to assume that all of them can. Not all humans can. If the Kito family can't see spirits it would explain why they escaped being murdered by Evil Eye until it got a physical body.
It's reasonable to assume that the Serpo can all see spirits b/c they're psychics and all clones. But we can also explain them having little experience with yokai by yokai being territorial and potentially perceiving aliens as fellow yokai due to similarities between them and the Serpo not doing much outside of their bases without good reason which could come off as a claimed territory

Summary
Force Osik can make things difficult and decidedly strange. Sith versions of Cody, Fox, Thorn, Thire, and Stone get switched with the bodies of their alternate selves that are from a near cannon timeline… They decide to Help Things- and manage to kill the Chancellor. Meanwhile the vod’e that they switch with are trying to get back home and hop a few universes before getting switched back… after the Sith versions kill the Chancellor.
Snippet
"Oh yes- and then have the might of the Alpha's sweeping through the Guard- and having the rest of the GAR of this galaxy find out as well and deal with the fall out- if not us, then when we switch back with our alternate selves, they will." Fox says with a snort.
Fox with a wince, his ribs are tender, he should not have laughed like that continued to speak after a breath or two, "If they were badly treated before and no one outside the Guard knew, perhaps they had reasons for it, as misguided and flawed as they likely were. We do not want to kark up their lives too badly when they come back.... If they can come back."
Thorn and Stone can see his point, but also, their plan to Kill the Demagolka was almost ready- all the information, all his dirty dealings, mistreatment of vod'e- and nat-borns, with the latter being the type of sentient that the wider galaxy will likely care more about, rather than the replaceable meat-droids, that they are called.
Covering all of one’s bases before toppling a powerful Sith is important before you take them out. The power vacuum that will happen, which will cause waves, and they are still trying to find the other plans that The Sith Demagolka has in place, finding them and trying to subtly defend and destroy them.
They have gotten half of the Coruscant guard's chips out, to prove that the so-called behavioral modification chips are unnecessary. Kote had gotten his out, once he had learned of them, not wanting to have such a thing in his head for a moment longer.
Thire and Thorn had managed to accidentally (on purpose) run into their c'yare Dogma and Tup while at 79's. When the higher-ranking pair are out of their armor and in their greys and had managed to speak with them for a while. Make the start of a connection. Kote had the easiest time speaking with his, the lucky shabuir, what with ARC Captain Rex working with him regularly.
Then something odd happens, things get strange, and Tup with a Medic named Kix are sent to Coruscant- because of Tup's irrational behavior and him shooting at a Jedi - and his seeming lack of understanding what is going on and only rare moments of lucidity.
Fox has one of the Corrie Medics check on Tup- and once he is sedated remove his chip- which looks severely karked up and the source and because of his wildly out of character behavior. Thire is holding one of Tup's hands he is nearly vibrating, with rage (for Tup) and worry for his beloved.
They can have one of the countless dead vod'ika that happen due to working on a place as Dangerous as Coruscant and swap them for Tup. It works- except that Bright, angry, caring Fives is sniffing out a conspiracy.
Fox has to chase after his beloved and while his is proud of him, he's also rather annoyed at him too, all of their hard work to unravel Palpatine's plots without the other noticing, slowing gathering of evidence to present to the nat-borns and the nearly ready time to kill him and Fives nearly ruins it all by trying to kill The Chancellor and now Fox and a squad of Corries have to hunt him down.

your most recent fic destroyed me and now i HAVE to ask— how do you think the chrysalis story/maybe just lottie in general would turn out if she was raised by kris? if something happened to karl but maybe they’re still stuck in the village. obv don’t spoil anything you don’t want to but that little thought experiment killed me.
OHHHH MY GOD Jackal you really do ask the best questions. I had to think about this for a while! It’s funny bc Karl & Lottie are such a package deal in my head and I’m just like… Do Not separate them. Like so much of her personality is just wrapped up in being his horrible little clone and constant shadow that cutting her out of that picture seems almost impossible.
HOWEVER. I can think of several scenarios where they might end up apart (minus him straight up dying bc that isn't fun!!! I say as if what I'm about to talk about is any better lmao.) Like, minor spoiler but this won't happen (obviously) because Reasons - I imagine Karl would want to pay off the Duke to whisk Kris out of the Village before Lottie is born (whether it's because they realize their WHOOPSIE or it's coincidental.) And maybe it happens and Kris of course doesn't hear from him for ~7 years and she forgets a lot of the finer details of his face and his voice doesn't come so easily to mind anymore. And then he does escape and he does get his freedom ending and he finds her and whatever you do, do not think about Karl seeing Lottie for the first time after never knowing her especially in the scenario where he didn't realize she existed oh my god oh mY GOD--
Anyway. To your actual question: I would like to think most of Lottie's gremlin nature is just inherent. It's in the damn HeisenDNA. Like, no matter her circumstances she's always going to be a weird little girl who's a little too into the concept of cybernetic enhancements and bugs and rats. And Kris, being a former weird little girl herself, would definitely support her - but given that particularly the mechanics/engineering part are NOT in her area of expertise, I think she'd have to rely way more on teachers or outside sources to help that part of her blossom. She'd be the mom at the science fair nodding along enthusiastically like she knows what the hell anyone is saying while internally her brain is turning into soup. Would that effect Lottie negatively? I don't really think so, but it might make her less attached because she'd have to seek... enrichment further away from home lol. There’s also the issue of Lottie’s lil magnet powers. Kris would not know what to do with that/how to relate at all obviously. I think that’d cause a whole host of problems - not necessarily resentment on Lottie’s part bc she’d still think it was Neat but I also can’t help but think they’d be more chaotic or out of control after a point. I think it would fuck her up a little bit being the odd one out with no one to relate to and it might make her a bit mad at the world. :( I definitely am inclined to believe Kris would have a metric shitton of anxiety about keeping her away from folks who'd want to study her like a lab rat or worse use her for their goals, and as the child of an extremely obsessive compulsive parent I can tell you that it does rub off and can make you extremely paranoid. Like, Lottie's probably got her own little conspiracy board by age 5 in this scenario lol. Kris only knows protecc, attacc, and panic attacc.
Also, I’m truly trying to avoid saying “she’d be a bit kinder/more thoughtful” bc it feels like gender stereotyping but also Karl is Karl and the bar is on the floor lmao. Kris isn't nice but she does more or less recognize when people deserve kindness. I don't think she'd be better or worse off, overall. But she'd be different, as any of us would. I think what you'd end up with is a more subdued but still slightly feral little mischief maker who is more cognizant of other people's needs and wants but possibly less... funny and over the top in her pursuits as a result lol. I'll let you decide if that's a good or bad thing. Anyway. I'm now thinking too hard about that first scenario I described because you planted the seed lol. Hmmm.

The saga of the Huntress and the Question (so what do you think their ship-name should be? Let me know in the comments!)
[All images are owned by DC Comics and Warner Bros Discovery. I hope I’m too small-fry to sue...]
In Justice League (Unlimited), and in fact the entire Dini-verse, despite the fact that it was written for a younger audience, there are a large number of themes that surprisingly mature. One theme is romance.
Obviously Batman has Catwoman and Talia Al-Guhl and Superman has Lois Lane. However, the two Justice League series has four (including a love triangle)!
Tumblr media
Green Arrow and Black Carnary
Tumblr media
John Stewart and Hawkgirl…
Tumblr media
…as well as Vixen
Tumblr media
Batman and Wonder Woman (they never go anywhere with this, but it’s obvious they have feelings for one another. I’ll have to do a deep dive on this one of these days)
And finally, the subject of this week’s review. First, let’s discuss the participants, as most people aren’t comic geeks who love the minor heroes more than the marquee ones…
Tumblr media
The Huntress debuted on Earth-2 (where DC stashed their Golden Age heroes until they were needed) prior to Crisis as Helena Wayne, the daughter of Bruce and Selina Wayne. Following Crisis, she was reimagined as Helena Bertinelli, the last surviving family member of a slain Mob Boss, who became a ruthless vigilante in an attempt to avenge her dead family.
Huntress makes her debut in a brief appearance fighting a bunch of robot spiders (but that’s not important for this review)
Tumblr media
The Question was created by Steve Ditko as part of Charleton Comics’ “Action Line” (which was ended a year later). When Ditko joined DC Comics, the company (as a “gift”) bought the rights to the Action Line, dumping them on Earth-4 in the DC Multiverse and forgetting about them until Crisis (though they were re-imagined in Watchmen, with the Question being the inspiration for Rorschach)
In the comics, the Question was a very philosophical hero (starting out following the teachings of Ayn Rand in Charlton, and Zen Buddhism following Crisis). However, in JLU the Question is a cynical conspiracy theorist looking for everyone’s “angle”.
Tumblr media
Question made his debut working with Supergirl and Green Arrow trying to find out why Supergirl was having disturbing dreams (while I won’t cover that for this review, it is kinda important as you’ll soon discover)
And now that we’ve established the players, on to the story!
NOTE: I will mainly be focusing the scenes involving Huntress and the Question. Any elements beyond their involvement I will likely ignore (unless it’s important later) If you would like to view the episodes in their entirety, they’re available on Max or behind your favorite paywall.
PREVIOUSLY ON…
Following the events of A Better World, an organization known as Cadmus (a government shadow ops group with off-the-books funding from Luthor) emerges of the League’s radar, performing such acts as illegal cloning (including a clone of Supergirl, which was the source of her bad dreams (told you it would be important)) The Question begins poking into Cadmus’s business after helping Supergirl and Green Arrow, trying to find the bottom of that rabbit hole.
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor has announced his candidacy for President (and is apparently doing well despite his criminal past. A criminal billionaire with no prior political career running for President? Like that could ever happen!)
Now, on with the show!
Tumblr media
We open at the estate of Mafia Boss Steven Mandragora where a couple of his bodyguards are arguing about their secret scone recipe (sure, why not?) when they hear a noise in the bushes. Suddenly a figure from the bushes makes short work of them (but, this being for kids, doesn’t kill them despite using a crossbow) The figure then scales the building and enters the study.
Tumblr media
You were expecting someone else?
Huntress uses an aerosol to spot the alarm beams and evade them. She then enters Mandragora’s bedroom and shoots the figure under the blanket (OK, this got dark quick!) However…
Tumblr media
…as you may have guessed, Mandragora isn’t there. She then gets contacted by J’onn in the Watchtower and teleported.
Tumblr media
Guess who’s in trouble? J’onn expels Huntress from the Justice League. As she goes to her quarters to gather her things…
Tumblr media
Huntress enters the Question’s quarters, makes fun of his looks (what she thinks he looks like under his faceless mask) and his obsession before offering to help him with Cadmus in exchange for helping her track down Mandragora. (Something tells me she knows two things about Cadmus: Jack and Squat)
And where is Mandragora?
Tumblr media
In a safe house being guarded by the FBI, Green Arrow, and Black Canary. Turns out Mandragora has promised to turn State’s Evidence against his fellow Mob Bosses in exchange for Witness Protection.
Meanwhile, the Question has found out about Mandragora’s location, and offers to tag along with Huntress.
Later, Mandragora’s goons, dressed as cops, attack the FBI while Canary and Arrow are on lookout duty outside. Then…
youtube
(Thanks to Princess Darkseid)
A wee bit later, as Huntress and the Question head to the waterfront, the Question reveals he knows Huntress knows nothing about Cadmus. Further, he knows about her connection to Mandragora.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, if the Question knows why Huntress wants Mandragora, and that she has nothing to offer in exchange for his help, why is he helping?
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Canary (with Arrow riding behind) has caught up with them and demands that they stop. Question drives his car into a rail tunnel. Just one problem…
Tumblr media
Question manages to turn into the side tunnel before the train hits him, but Arrow has to call for J’onn to teleport him and Canary. J’onn does so…over the bay where they land safely in the water.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Question reveals that there’s a freighter from Mandragora’s country arriving shortly.
(Thanks to Unlimited)
So now the Huntress and the Question are An Item, but it’s not their last appearance together. This episode focused primarily on the Huntress’s obsession, while the next is all about the Question.
Tumblr media
We open on Metropolis, where a warlord from Apokolips named Mantis is tearing up the city.
Fortunately, Superman is on the scene with an assist by Captain Atom (another Charlton import: Captain Nathanial Adams (USAF) was condemned for a crime he didn’t commit. He exchanged his death sentence for being a guinea pig for an experiment that turned him into a living nuclear reactor (similar to Firestorm, but with energy conversion instead of matter manipulation)) After a brief battle, Superman manages to activate Mantis’s Boom Tube and Captain Atom blasts Mantis through.
Following the attack, Lois Lane shows up looking for alone time with Superman, so Captain Adam makes himself scarce. After leaving, Captain Atom is summoned by General Eiling (calling the good Captain by his actual name)…
Tumblr media
…and drafts him into Cadmus.
Meanwhile, the Question and the Huntress have a “date night” where they break into LexCorp to dig up information about Cadmus.
Tumblr media
Eventually, Question manages to download the files, but Huntress now wants an actual date in return. (Exactly how can they have a date night like regular people when Huntress hasn’t even seen Question’s face? It’s not like he can eat while wearing that mask!)
Later in Question’s apartment (wait, why does he have an apartment? He has free housing in the Watchtower!)
