he got it from his mother, and it was part of the reason why his father hated him so much; he thought Simon had the devil in him

he tried to beat it out of him, tied his hand behind his back, forced him to use his right hand for everything, and eventually Simon trained himself to be ambidextrous, if only to escape the punishments

when he joined the military, it worked in his favor. he was able to use both hands equally well which helped him shoot and spar better, and he never told anyone that he was naturally left-handed

when he met Soap, his handedness never even crossed his mind. at least, it didn’t until he overheard Johnny talking about an old Scottish superstition, something about bad luck meeting a left-handed person at the start of a journey

a load of bullshit, Johnny said, but Simon shrank back anyway. if Soap noticed him getting more distant, he never mentioned it, never made the connection, never found out that Ghost was left-handed

and when Soap died, a single bullet to the head, Simon couldn’t help but wonder if that old Scottish superstition held any water after all

after all, Johnny’s bad luck started the day he met Simon, and he never even knew it

antis love to yell "we told you so" at lestappies any time either max or charles say anything that points to them not being best friends. and that confuses me so much bc pretty much all lestappies i know just think that they admire each other, that max thinks very highly of charles and wants to fight him for a title because he thinks charles has it in him and wants to see him at his full potential, and even if you go full on shipping, most lestappies would put it like there's an admiration/crush from afar, a longing to spend more time together, to get to know the other better, to be closer, not just on track; most lestappies don't think that they're already super close and best friends!

like i’ve said time and time again, i haven’t watched bbc merlin in years but i was just wondering when the first time merlin called arthur by his name to his face and im scrolling thru the transcripts on the fandom wiki (supposedly it was s1ep4 btw) and im skimming the script for all these episodes and getting angrier and angrier. gaius was wrong for all that. morgana deserved so much better. edwin muirden was valid as hell (for targeting uther AND gaius. yeah. i said it.). also kilgharrah ate with that one lil line “then turn a blind eye. that is, after all, your talent” okay lizard brain pop offff.

I don't think Sephiroth ever willingly pierced his own ears, and the times they were pierced for him were uncomfortable and pointless in his eyes. There were photoshoots where they were pierced purely for the allure of the earrings—futile, his ears healed within seconds.

Genesis had been obsessed with it at one point, insisting on piercing him out of curiosity and to see which earring in his collection would suit Sephiroth best. Again, pointless—the piercings never lasted, closing up quickly thanks to his rapid healing, and Sephiroth couldn't stand the restrictive feel of earrings pressing against his skin.

But the first time was the singular sting on his left ear. He still feels it when he thinks about the day. Hojo had locked him in a cage then, penning him in like another lab specimen, never clear on whether it was punishment or just another part of his "training."

Hojo clasped a metal tag to his ear, stamped with a code, a number, stripping away any ounce of humanity the boy had in favor of grouping him with the other specimens. Sephiroth would go on to have flashbacks every time his ears got pierced.
