Hey guys, I gave it a try lol let me know what yall think!
Jason Todd isn't a cruel guy.
Not on purpose, anyways. He saw some shit as a kid, as any kid did growing up in Crime Alley. His parents were murdered when he was still very young and he'd been taken in by THE Batman. Regardless of what anyone says, beating criminals up every night of your tween years does affect one's physce. Getting beat with a crowbar and killed by Joker does worse.
But now Jason is back, and he's stronger, and he's smarter. Sure he's scarred up and violent, but he's finally his own soilder, his own dog. And Jason really does love helping people. Which is why along side running the biggest crime ring Gotham had seen in years, he also works for a Mental Health Helpline.
He didn't get many calls directed to him, but he did get one tonight as he sat in his shitty apartment in Gotham, tending to a wound on his leg a few days old. He answered the phone, putting it on speaker and laying it on the coffee table.
"Hello, Gotham Mental Health Hotline. How may I help you tonight?"
A deep voice comes from the other side of the phone, a voice that Jason had heard in his dreams for years, praising him, scolding him, reading him stories to help him get to bed, waking up from resting to go fight crime.
"I'm not at risk. I don't need help." Bruce Wayne says slowly.
Jason clears his throat, his eyes narrowing. Would Bruce know it was him. Would Bruce ever be able to recognize him at all?
"I understand." Jason answered. "Is there any way I can help?"
Bruce took a shakey breath. "I don't need...help. I just...I have some heavy regrets waying on me. Mistakes that I've carried with me, guilt that acts like a noose, tighter recently than it has been in years. My son...I messed up so badly with my son. I want to fulfill my promise to him. I want to make it all okay again for my boy."
Jason shivered. He's not talking about you, idiot. He tells himself. He doesn't care that you're dead. He never cared. He's talking about perfect Dick or clever Tim. Not better-off-dead Jason Fucking Todd.
Jason slowly went back to tending to the open wound, which had started bleeding from how hard he was unintentionally prodding at it. "Have you tried talking to him? I'm sure he'd understand." Jason said through gritted teeth. It wasn't him. Batman didn't need Jason, so Bruce certainly didn't either.
"I would tell him. If he ever showed up. God, I'd tell him anything and everything." Something screeched in the background on Bruce's end and Bruce swore softly. Jason pictured him suddenly speeding through Gotham streets, the Batmobile swerving dangerously, recklessly.
Jason didn't say anything, just waited for his father- for Bruce Wayne- to keep speaking. He continued, after a moment. "I only see him sometimes, when I dream. And he's in my arms again, young and bright and so full of life and potential." So he was talking about Dick. The first Robin who had grown up, fought with Batman, and left, never to return, not as he had been. Dick was Nightwing now, and led his own team, though he was still close with Bruce. Jason relaxed. This call was not about him. He could continue with his plans of vengeance without feeling guilty. I'm sure I'll laugh about this later.
"I'm sorry sir..." Jason trailed off awkwardly. Bruce spoke before Jason could say anything else.
"He's...he's dead." Jason froze. Everything went still. It seemed as though the cars outside all went skidding to a halt, the blood in Jason's veins went cold. The only sound was the old light above him flickering. Jason stuttered slightly as he quickly searched up both Nightwing and Robin on line, a dark part of him hoping one of them had died. But no, there were only two articles published within the last few hours and it was about a case Robin, Nightwing, and Batman had dismantled the previous night.
Jason swallowed. "I'm...so sorry, sir. Do you want to talk about him?" Jason wanted him to say no, needed Bruce to say no. For once he wanted Bruce to close off everything and everyone and retreat back to the dark corner of his mind where he told no one anything.
And there was a long silence between them, Jason was sure Bruce would hang up.
Batman would have. But Bruce didn't. "His name was Jason. And he was the most golden and beautiful boy on this planet. You would have never thought so from judt glancing at him once. His hair was flat and dark, And he was short and skinny and always had dirt on him somewhere. But it was in his eyes, and in his laugh. That's where his love was held. He cared so much. About everyone. He always wanted to help. He would always rush forward, even if it put him at risk. He didn't care about himself. He cared more about the wellbeing of others. He was so sweet and..." Bruce's voice cracked. "I just want my son back. My sweet boy." Jason didn't say anything. He felt his throat burn and his eyes blur. "I-i'm sorry sir. He sounds...amazing. I'm sure whatever it is you feel guilty over..." Jason took a deep breath. "I'm sure he forgives you." He lied. Partially lied. Jason didn't know anymore. One conversation where one participant didn't even know who the other was did not count as closure, and nothing was different. But it wasn't the same either. Bruce cared. All this time Jason had been looking for Batman to show the effect Jason's death had on him, when really it was Bruce he should have been looking at.
Bruce was quiet for a long long time. "I wish that was true, son. But I don't think so. Still, thank you for saying so. And thank you for listening. You're a good kid." Bruce didn't say anything else before hanging up. Jason sat in silence for a moment, frozen in time, feeling dizzy. Then he sprung up, his injured leg aching and dripping blood onto the floor, and he ran to the bathroom, falling in front of the toilet and throwing up anything he had eaten in the past 24 hours.
AU, where Jason returns to Gotham, but in between of his evil mastermind plans and managing the criminal empire, he starts working in this anonymous psychological hotline services.
And gets a call from Bruce-fucking-Wayne.
Well. It is not like Bruce announces that he is Bruce Wayne — it is anonymous, after all — but Jason knows his father's voice, alright?
'I don't need a physiological help,' his father tells him the minute he picks up the phone.
Jason... Snorts.
'Of course,' he nods, making his voice nicer. 'How can I help you?'
Bruce pauses, his breath hitching for a second; almost as if he recognized Jason's voice.
'My... my son thinks I need it, but I am fine,' Bruce insists. 'Still... I want to, well, fulfil a promise I gave... for once.'
Jason rolls his eyes, a familiar irritation flaring up in green flames before his eyes. He wonders who is this lucky son that gets to have such a diligent, responsible father - Dickhead? Tim? Damian?
'I see,' he breathes out, trying to follow a protocol of the calls. 'I am sure he will appreciate your loyalty. Will you tell him about it?'
'If he appears,' something screeches in the background, and if Jason closes his eyes, he can easily imagine Bruce leaning back on the armchair, in the Batcave. 'I... He only ever appears in my dreams, my boy.'
Jason freezes.
'Excuse me?'
'I... He is dead, my son.'
Had someone else died? Jason frowns, reaching for his phone, typing anxiously Nightwing and Robin in the search bar, trying to see if there is something serious happened; because he can't be talking about the second Robin, can he-
'I am sorry,' he blurts out, eyes drifting back to notes on the table, with some common phrases that can be used in this situation. 'I... Do you want to talk about, sir?'
Bruce is silent for a while. Jason thinks he is about to drop the call, but then, he sighs heavily on the line:
'His name was Jason. And he was the brightest boy.'
Jason mutes the microphone. He thinks he is going to vomit.

It’s Always Been You
🍎F!reader, pet names: (pip/squeak, my girl, sweetheart,) suggestive but not smut, fluff, hurt/comfort, brief miscommunication and lots of groveling but it works out.🍎
Notes: I struggle with editing. This is totally separate from canon bc I’m heartbroken. It’s also my first lads fic, I’ll ALWAYS be a Sylus girlie but Caleb broke my brain for a minute 😭
Caleb joining the DAA wasn’t the problem at hand…No, it was the fact that you were going to be separated. Spending his last night before he leaves wrapped around each other like you always did when things were tough was the best comfort you could get.
“I’m gonna miss you so much, do you really have to go?” This was going to be the longest you’ve ever been apart since you were kids, and even worse, he wasn’t allowed to have his phone.
This wasn’t any easier on him but he couldn’t just back out. “I’ll be home before you know it, don’t worry too much.” Caleb brushed the hair from your eyes and held you closer, plus, you get to have six months free of my constant nagging.”
That was absolutely the wrong thing to say, the tears you were holding back finally fell. Your hands that were originally wrapped around his waist were now at his chest, between your bodies and fisted tightly in his shirt. “But I love you and your nagging!” You inhaled like you were suffocating. Perhaps you were, under the weight of his impending absence.
“Shh I know, I love you and being a pain in your ass.” That earned him a wet chuckle. “I swear, as soon as I’m home I’ll fulfill my promise and I won’t leave your side. You’ll never have to worry again, about anything.” A soft kiss to your temple solidified his vow.
It took you a few long moments before you were able to get in a proper breath and process what he said. “You made a promise?”
“Don’t remember? Hm that won’t do. Think back to when you were 18, and that boy you had a crush on rejected you and broke your heart.”
“I’d prefer not to remember that, actually.”
“But remember after? When you still hadn’t come home by dinner and I found you alone at the park?” Large hands ran down the length of your back to help soothe you while he spoke.
You’re still lost but it’s coming back to you. Confessing to your crush in the park was supposed to be perfect— except he not only rejected you, but he made fun of you. You could respect rejection, but the way he humiliated you and made a scene wasn’t something you wanted to think about. “That day was awful.”
“You were so upset. I wanted to beat him to a pulp but you didn’t want to be alone. Remember what I told you? The pinky promise we made? It’s only been four years you know, I’d hope your memory isn’t that bad yet.”
The moment flooded you then with a gasp, ‘You’ll never be alone as long as I live sweetheart, and when it’s time, when I finally graduate and become a pilot, I swear I’ll marry you myself to prove it.’ And at the time it made you giggle, because surely he was just joking to cheer you up, right? “You meant it?”
Caleb chuckled and lifted your chin to look at you directly, “of course I did, it’s always been you and me. Don’t you know that?”
A fresh wave of tears formed as you surged forward to meet his lips with yours- and stopped out of embarrassment before you could make contact. “Sorry, I didn’t- I think I’m just being emotional—”
But the space between you closed once again and before you could overthink it, Caleb was kissing you the way he’s wanted to for years. His lips were all consuming and tender. His palm cupped your face like it was glass and you couldn’t resist running your fingers through his hair. Kissing Caleb felt like home, like everything was right.
He tried to break away to bring you both air but you refused to let him, instead pulling him closer and closer until he was on top of you, spreading your legs to accommodate his size. “Slow- slow down, you still need oxygen.” You shook when he started dragging his kisses down your throat, letting out soft moans when gentle sucks were left behind.
“C-Caleb…”
He pulled back and grew tense as if he was afraid he scared you away, “what’s wrong, you tired?” He was trying to give you an out if you wanted it.
You were certain your cheeks were flushed, you shook your head. “I want… more…”
Caleb groaned and buried his face in your neck “you’re killing me, Pip.”
Had you said something wrong? “Sorry- I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable… I’ll just-” you loosened your arms from around him, thinking you somehow embarrassed yourself yet again.
He stopped you. “You’re not going anywhere, sweetheart. You’re killing me because you have no idea how badly I want you; how long I’ve wanted you.”
“Really?” Having someone like Caleb love you was the best feeling, but him being attracted to you left you wanting him even more.
Deciding to just show you, he ground his hips into yours. And god, it felt good against you. Just that little bit of contact felt better than anything you ever achieved on your own. “You’re-” hard went unsaid. He grunted when you spread your legs wider for him. “Yeah, I am. And if you want me, then you have me. But you can’t take it back, so if you’re not ready for that commitment…”
“Can I tell you a secret?”
“This really isn’t the time for that—”
“Shut up, it’s important.” He sighed and let you continue. Your arms dropped from his neck to hold his face in your hands, brushing the stray hairs from his face. “That guy I had a crush on? I only liked him so much because he reminded me of you. So I’m yours, too. If you want me, then you can take me.”
Words were lost on him so actions took hold, “are you sure?” His kisses resumed their path after meeting your lips, the room grew hotter with each new brush against your skin.
“I trust you, Caleb,” you had no idea your neck was so sensitive, your gasps talking for you. “but I should let you know I’ve never done this before.”
“I’d kill anyone who ever touched you if you had”
“Isn’t that hypocritical? Should I hunt down your past lovers?” You worked his shirt over his head, the dog tag necklace you gave him mere hours ago dangled in front of your face.
He chuckled and discarded your top, your sleep shorts were next. “It’s funny how you think I’d ever want someone that isn’t you.” His revelation hit you full force: he loves you so deeply, there’s truly no doubt to have. “I’d never do this with anyone else.”
Two things happened that night: your bond was solidified, and unbeknownst to you, a life was created
The goodbye was brutal the next day, already missing him terribly before night fell again.
You managed to fall into a routine, though. You would go to work, occasionally spend time with friends— Tara spent the night with you at least once a week to keep your mind off of things; and the days she didn’t you laid in bed desperately wishing he would be by your side.
Your routine was solid, until a month into your separation when you were sick almost every single day. You were fed up by the time a week passed and the day after that you made your way to visit Zayne- who congratulated you because in his words, ‘he and his wife were expecting as well, perhaps they’ll be friends, too.’ Finding out you were pregnant without Caleb with you was difficult, there wasn’t a way to reach him and share the news.
But you weren’t alone anymore. You spent the time you felt lonely talking to your baby now, who definitely couldn’t hear you yet but that didn’t matter. You were kept company with a perfect blend of you and your Caleb.
According to the official statement released last week Caleb would be home any time today, any minute, any second.
The anticipation left butterflies in your tummy, your baby moving with your nerves. It didn’t occur to you that he might not be happy to be a father, that you might’ve been presumptuous that he’d be ready to care for another life so soon.
And when the door flew open, as much as you wanted to jump into his arms (carefully, of course,) you held your breath and waited for him to notice. And of course, because he was your Caleb, it was right away. His happiness and relief fell away to shock and— was that anger? You didn’t expect anger…
“Welcome home, I—”
“Who else has been here?”
“What? I mean Tara has been keeping me company a few times a week but that’s it.”
“What man has been in our home, pipsqueak.” He didn’t phrase it as a question, just a demand. He’s never been so terse with you…
His tone made you anxious, “No one, other than Zayne and his wife for dinner occasionally— Caleb what are you talking about?”
Caleb dropped his bag on the floor with a thud, still not moving from his spot. “I’m talking about the fact that I came home after six months and you didn’t seem to miss me at all, nothing like the way I missed you. How else would you be pregnant? So who is he? Someone from the Hunters Association?”
Oh… he thought… “Oh my god how could you think- I’d never cheat on you Caleb— EVER how could you even think—”
“Well, I certainly couldn’t have knocked you up in the time I’ve been away.”
A knife cut through you at his words, the accusation, the betrayal of thinking you’d ever be with anyone else. And how vulgar it was… Did your first time mean so little? Was it something he just wanted to get out of the way before he left? A sob escaped you, tears spilled over. “You’re an asshole, Caleb.”
His eyes went wide, “I’m the asshole here?”
“Yes! You’re a fucking asshole! I expected you to be shocked but accusing me of cheating on you? Thinking that night was nothing? That’s low. I can’t believe you!”
“That night means everything to me!”
“Ask me how far along I am! Go on, fucking ask!”
That stopped him short, “you mean?”
“SIX MONTHS!” Standing there while he dropped to his knees was barely satisfying. “God I can’t stand you right now! You must’ve lost your damn mind and all your common sense!”
His silence was angering you further, stomping off to the kitchen for a drink of water and trying to calm down was a better use of your time; crying from this much stress wasn’t good for you.
Once he gathered himself he followed you, “Sweetheart… you’re telling me that night…”
“Finally used your brain, did you?”
“I’m so, god I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” His hand reached out to bring you in for a hug but you denied him.
“Do. Not. Touch me.” His audacity made you seethe. No way were you going to give in so easily no matter how much you desired to be in his embrace and reassured.
“Sweetheart—”
“You’re sleeping on the couch. We can decide what to do later.”
His emotions began to overflow, the guilt crushing him; the ring in his pocket practically burning into his flesh. “Decide what?”
“Decide if I should even let you stay.” Your throat felt tight but you continued to hold your sobs back. “Your dinner is in the oven by the way, it’s your favorite so I suggest you don’t let it burn.”
A few hours rolled around before he couldn’t hold himself back anymore hearing your sniffles. You hadn’t eaten dinner, who knows if you had any water, and no matter how (rightfully) mad you were, you still needed to eat.
Grabbing a few of your favorite snacks with a glass of juice instead of the untouched dinner he put in the fridge was his safest option, unsure if seeing the meal would upset you further.
“Pip squeak? I know you’re awake.” Crouching by your side of the bed and setting the snacks on the nightstand, “please talk to me?”
“Go away.”
“You know I can’t do that, you have to eat something.”
You poked your head from the blanket, “oh so you care now that you know it’s yours?”
The jab was deserved but it still earned a wince. “I’d still care even if they weren’t.”
“How noble of you. Sticking around to raise a kid that’s not yours before I even have a ring.”
“Who said I didn’t have a ring?” This time you accepted the comfort of his hand brushing your hair behind your ear and gently cupping your cheek.
Curiosity was a bitch, but you weren’t ready to forgive him yet. “You were really mean.”
“I know, I’m so sorry, sweetheart. So sorry. I can’t imagine you being with anyone else but I didn’t expect to come home to a family either— and I’m beyond happy to be a dad. It’s not an excuse though, never okay to talk to you like that.”
A few leftover sniffles came before he pulled a tissue from the box on your nightstand, opting to dry your tears himself. “Blow,” He said, holding the tissue to help you blow your nose; then offering you the straw of the juice so you could hydrate.
“I missed you so much, I thought you’d still be happy to see me.”
“I’m over the moon, actually. But I hurt my girl, gotta make things right. Think you can forgive me? I’ll earn it forever.”
“Caleb if you ever, I mean ever, speak to me like that again I won’t hesitate to let you talk to the front door. You’ll be out.”
“I’ll cut my tongue out myself.”
“So dramatic as always.” You rolled your eyes, “you mentioned a ring?”
A smile lifted the corner of his mouth, “there’s my girl. You sure you still want it? Or should I earn it first?” He dug into his pants pocket to show you anyway.
“It wouldn’t hurt your efforts.”
He couldn’t help but chuckle fully before presenting the velvet box to you, “I’m pretty close to the ground but if you sit up for me I’ll get on one knee.”
Sitting up to stretch was good for your back anyway, “I think I’ve waited long enough.”
The velvet box opened and your jaw dropped, “picked it out in Skyhaven. Gideon and I helped the elderly owner of a small shop with some boxes he was struggling with in front of his door. Knew it was perfect right away, gorgeous and one of a kind like you.”
“You’re ridiculous, but I love it.” He slid it on your finger and sealed it with a kiss, and you fell into his arms like you’ve wanted to for the last six months.
Pulling away after many minutes of hugs, ‘I love you’s’ and kisses wasn’t welcomed by you. “Now, how ‘bout some dinner? I don’t think snacks are enough, they were backup. Gotta keep you healthy.”
“Did you like it?”
You were pulled to your feet and carried out of the room. “Didn’t eat without you, sweetheart. Having dinner without you and the baby felt empty.”
“Good. You can reheat it then.” You waited for the perfect moment to drop your bombshell, which happened to be when he was carrying a full glass pitcher of water for the table. “We’re having a daughter, by the way.”
The pitcher fell so fast his evol barely managed to catch it before glass hit the ground. It left you feeling smug.
You couldn’t help but cackle at his shocked spluttering, “A WHAT?”

“ALRIGHT. Let’s do it.”
As you gaze into Taesan’s determined eyes, the entire series of events flashes through your mind.
It was back in your first year of university—early winter, the day of the first snowfall. You were walking towards the three-floor library, the cold wind stinging your eyes. You rushed inside, grateful for the gush of artificial warm air that greeted you as soon as the doors closed behind you. The library was quite packed for some reason, and you could barely spot any empty seats.
You walked towards the edge of the library, a corner with the largest window of the level. There it was—one of the only empty seats in the entire library—but that seat was next to a boy, heavily occupied with his studies. Your pace slowed down as you hesitated. The boy had a focused blank look on his face, his headphones on, and several papers and notebooks were scattered on the table around him.
You felt like you wanted to just leave and go back to your room, but remembering how cold it was outside, you decided against it.
After taking a deep breath, you approached him. With a shaky smile, you tapped the boy’s shoulder, muttering a silent prayer.
“Excuse me,” you said as he lowered his headphones to his neck. “May I sit here? I-I mean, if it’s cool with you..”
He simply nodded. “Sure.”
You had sat down next to the mysterious boy for the entire day, not knowing that, in the present, he would be the bane of your existence.
In this moment, you’re brought back to the present, startled at how you’re standing in front of him. The mysterious boy that you had sat next to turned out to be Han “Taesan” Dongmin—KOZ School of Law’s campus crush. There’s almost nothing “bad” that you’re heard of him, yet, when you find yourself walking towards him with a fiery determination in your eyes—you immediately know that you’re about to get hit with something you’d never expect.
“A-are you sure?” you say, surprised to even find yourself stuttering. You’ve held yourself to such a high reputation—being your school’s academic weapon—you’ve worked hard to keep yourself true to that name.
Well, to be fair, you didn’t expect Taesan to even say yes to your ridiculous plan—given that all that’s he’s ever done for you is say everything that will get on your nerves.
Taesan gives you a smirk. “Of course,” he says, clearing his throat. “Being the boyfriend of KOZ Academy’s academic weapon isn’t something you get to do everyday.”
The way he presses the emphasis on the word ‘boyfriend’ makes you flinch. It reminds you of your stupid plan; who in their right mind would offer Han Taesan—your rival—a fake dating deal just to make rumours about themselves go away?
“Right,” you roll your eyes. “Anyway, I think we need to enforce some guidelines and boundaries regarding this… set-up.”
Taesan shoves his hands into his pockets, shifting his weight to let himself stand more comfortably. The smirk still on his face, he replies, “alright. Hit me with all of ‘em.”
You whip your phone out, quickly showing him a document that you spent an entire night typing out—complete with every single thing he needed to do for you.
“Here,” you say, frustrated at how Taesan’s smug smirk just never falters.
Taesan runs a hand through his hair before leaning down to read through the document displayed on your phone. He finishes reading it quickly, taking a step closer to you after. He doesn’t say anything for a while, only to startle you by abruptly saying, “I agree.”
“What–?” you blurt out, surprised once again. You thought that Taesan would be more picky than–
“Your terms are easy for me to do. However,” you narrow your eyes at the boy who’s towering in front of you. Of course he’s picky—he’s Taesan. “I’d like you to agree to my conditions as well. If I have to do some things for you, you’d have to do some things for me too.”
You sigh before nodding. How hard could it be? Besides, this whole ‘relationship’ you’re having with Taesan is merely a fake dating set-up.
“Okay.”
Taesan whips out a full-blown smug smirk, making you roll your eyes. He pushes his glasses up his nose bridge, holding out two fingers.
“First, you have to also put in the effort to make things real. Like, wearing my jersey when I have basketball games, and wearing my initials ‘round your neck,” he pushes his middle finger down, the smug grin still plastered on his face, “and secondly, you’ll have to let me kiss you anytime.”
The moment the word ‘kiss’ escapes his mouth, you choke on thin air.
Why is my plan backfiring on me?
“What? No–”
Taesan shrugs. “Basically, physical contact is allowed to be done anytime.”
You feel your face flush, immediately recalling the third condition that you showed Taesan. No physical affection unless needed.
“I’m afraid I can’t do that—it’s clashing with my third term.”
“But your first term: ‘the other party must always do his utmost best to make the relationship seem real’ exists, am I right?” Taesan objects relaxedly. “Then, my second term doesn’t clash with that. And I also do believe that that first term of yours comes before the rest. Am I right?”
You grit your teeth, sucking in a sharp breath. How could you forget? Taesan will always work to have the last word—be that in court or in conversations.
Plus, he’s not entirely wrong.
Though, you’ve never been someone who lets Taesan win willingly.
“Whatever,” you roll your eyes, your heart twisting in detest at the way Taesan’s face lights up with a smirk again.
“Then, we have a deal?” Taesan asks.
You stare into his dark brown eyes once again, registering what you’re about to commit yourself to. All just to get rid of your ex and the rumour he’s pulled you into.
You hold out your hand, Taesan gladly reciprocating.
“Deal.”
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
IT didn’t hit you that you’re officially Han Taesan’s girlfriend that night. However, the next morning, right after the two of you signed the document at the coffee shop you always study at—it hit you like a million bricks from the sky.
You’re in a “relationship” with the person you loathed the most for the past year. The exact same man who everyone adores, who’s called the it-boy, the campus crush—is now your most “beloved”. Freshman you would rather jump off a cliff than to offer her nemesis a fake-dating pact.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I guess.
“Here,” Taesan hands you a velvet box—one that obviously contains jewellery of some sort.
Of course. Han Taesan’s always prepared.
You let out a deep sigh, knowing what’s inside. Despite that, you ask, “what’s this?”
Taesan gives you a grin, one that you always see him don during the countable times that he beats you in quizzes. “Open it—I’m sure you’ll like it.”
You run your fingers around the edges of the velvety box, sceptical at Taesan’s sudden soft tone. “Don’t talk to me like that,” you mutter, loud enough for him to hear.
Taesan, instead of immediately throwing a scoff in your face, simply leans back into his seat with a chuckle.
Not waiting for whatever reply he’s preparing to throw to you, you open the box. Your eyes lay upon a beautiful, dainty necklace with a “H.D” pendant, nested elegantly in the box. You bite back a gasp, though you’re unable to hide your surprise. The silver necklace is one of the most beautiful pieces of jewellery you’ve yet to lay your eyes upon—it’s dainty and simple, yet it screams elegance in the best way possible.
You look up at Taesan, obviously bug-eyed. “What- I’m- thank you?”
Taesan throws his head back, laughing. He perches an eyebrow up, clearly amused. “What am I supposed to answer? ‘You’re welcome’?”
Oh. It’s part of his terms.
You glare at him.
Not missing a beat, Taesan says with a big grin on his face, “what is your lazy ass waiting for? Put it on—or do you need me to help with that?”
You massage your temples, tempted to stick your tongue out at him, hissing the obvious at him—that you do not want to wear his initials around your neck.
“I don’t need your help,” you say between gritted teeth, harshly yanking the necklace from the box. You swiftly clasp the necklace around your neck, secretly surprised that you’re able to do so.
Maintaining a glare, you retort, “I’m only wearing this stupid necklace because it’s part of your terms.”
You throw your gaze elsewhere, Taesan laughing his stomach out in the background. Why is he finding your irritated state so funny?
The pendant feels cold against your skin, sending tingles. You gulp, feeling odd. You hadn’t announced your ‘relationship’ to your friends yet—but seeing you with Taesan’s initials could certainly start rumours.
A part of you is jumping with triumph—your plan is starting to set its course, while another part of you is afraid of it all. What if you’re finally not good at something, no matter how much you try—pretending you’re in love with your rival, the bane of your existence?
“We’ll start slow,” you hear Taesan say, pulling you back into reality. You quickly morph into your stoic expression—one that you find yourself often putting up around people. “Like everyone else does. Soft launch.”
“Ah,” you manage, nodding. “Sounds good.”
“Even though that necklace certainly is a big jump for a soft launch,” Taesan voices, chuckling. His words cause you to narrow your eyes at him, hyper aware of the cold metal against your skin—a mark that Taesan managed to place on you.
It’s all fake, you chant to yourself. Once Anton gets the message, it’ll all be over.
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
THE past few weeks had been a blur. Nothing was out of the ordinary—you attended classes, performed mootings and sent in assignments like usual. Though, only one thing that was out of the routine.
Taesan no longer felt like a thorn to your side.
You still hate him—you despise the way he carries himself, so proud and confident. You wish you could punch his face for the way he’s so smooth with his words, the way that his charm works on everyone so well. You absolutely hate the way a handsome idiot like him had the potential to beat you in every single subject if you slacked for even a minute.
Yet, to the public, he’s your boyfriend.
A cliche: rivals to lovers, they say.
Despite being the one proposing the whole fake dating plan, you had been the one following Taesan’s itinerary so far. The two of you had finally exchanged phone numbers, and at night, Taesan would always send a list of ideas on how to make the soft launch more obvious day by day.
The first week, you found yourself wearing tops that highlighted the H.D pendant, styling your hair to make it more noticeable—you even went as far as attending Taesan’s birthday celebration to top the chances of people noticing the pendant. And Taesan didn’t inform you of this one, but you often found him telling his friends, yours, or random coursemates to pass you drinks and snacks. You had no idea how Taesan had gotten the list of all your favourite things to munch on, but you secretly did enjoy the free flow of snacks. Anton had passed you a snack from Taesan too—five packs of your favourite Choco Pie. You couldn’t forget the bewildered face Anton had as he passed them to you, eyes filled with question and a hint of jealousy.
“What’s up with Han?” he asked.
You shoved the Choco Pies into your shoulder bag, biting back a smile. Who wouldn’t be jolly after getting five of their favourite tidbits?
“How would I know?” you replied bitterly. You quickly turn away from Anton, the uncomfortable feeling of being around him overpowering the bubbly feeling you had from getting snacks.
“Well, those Choco Pies are from him,” Anton repeated for the second time. “And I don’t recall him being anything but hostile to you.”
You suppress a scoff. “Maybe he’s had a change of heart? His brain is probably tired of coming up with things to try and outsmart me,” you muttered. As if.
“Well, if anything—if that asshole tries to do anything to you, I’ll… be here for you, Y/N,” Anton said, taking a step closer. Your eyes widened and your jaw clenched. You quickly finished packing your bag up, swinging it over your shoulders.
You said that last time, too.
“Don’t talk to me, Anton,” you responded as monotony as possible before running out of the lecture hall, not giving Anton even a glance.
The following weeks, Taesan was hanging out with you even more than the previous week. He wasn’t being too obvious, but to you, him walking slightly behind you and not throwing a loud sarcastic remark was already an apparent sign that would show everyone that your dynamics had changed.
Anton had found yet another chance to corner you after a Public International Law lecture. You stayed back in the hall to reread your theoretical essay before sending it in. Behind you, Taesan was packing up his things, busy scrolling through something in his phone.
“Hi, Y/N,” you froze when Anton’s voice reached your ear drums.
You look up at him with a glare. “What do you want?”
Anton flashed his usual pitiful, soft smile. “Nothing. Just a meal with you—this week has been quite stressful for you, right? I heard that last Monday’s mooting was rough.”
“You’re not even a law student, Anton,” you seethed. The KOZ School of Business student ID card hanging on Anton’s neck looked extremely out of place amongst the ocean of law students. “Please kindly get lost, go back to the Business building.”
“My course mates are boring. Besides, you’re more fun to be around,” Anton replied. “I know we… haven’t been on good terms, but give me a chance to fix it all?”
You gritted your teeth, your hands beginning to shake.
The audacity of this boy… where is my stupid fake boyfriend when I need him–?
“I think she clearly said for you to get lost, bud.”
You fought back a grin. Finally.
“Han?” Anton tilted his head. “Wait– who are you to tell me that?”
Taesan stood next to you, his backpack dangling from one shoulder. His height towered significantly above you, making you standing right below his shoulders—enough to match Anton. “Who do you think I am?”
Anton’s eyes darted towards the pendant on your décolletage, his eyes bulging. “What the…” you heard him mutter under his breath.
Taesan seemed to notice this too, and he swiftly pulled you close, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. “So, get it now? Get lost, Lee, and give your ex some space. An ex is an ex for a reason.”
Anton then left with a fuming expression, leaving you in fits of relieved laughter after. You thanked Taesan, who simply responded with a polite smile.
“By the end of this, don’t forget the wish, yeah?” he said, before walking out of the lecture hall.
You stood there, blinking profusely. You had completely forgotten the last clause of your agreement with Taesan—once you were satisfied with his service, you had to grant him one wish. Anything that he wanted.
You face palmed yourself. Why didn’t you think twice before typing that down? You mentally made a note to yourself to prepare your wallet for the outrageous request that the thorn in your side would make later on.

“ARE you and Taesan dating?”
Sophia’s question makes you almost spit your lunch through your nose.
“What?”
“Girl, don’t you dare pretend not,” Yunjin interrupts, pointing her spoon at you. “You literally have his initials as a necklace that you never take off! H.D., which means Han Dongmin, right? Isn’t that his real name?”
“It’s not like–”
“No, no. It’s so obvious! Taesan’s around you more now, and he even gave you a birthday present!”
Sophia smiles, “he looks at you so differently now!”
Yunjin laughs, nodding. “Yeah, yeah, that too, I guess,” she then looks at you, directly in the eyes, “I guess Han Taesan and Y/N L/N have finally begun their lovers era, huh?”
You feel your cheeks warming up, and guilt fills your chest. You draw a sharp inhale before telling the girls the full story. And subconsciously, your fingers find the pendant, playing with it.
“It’s fake,” you sigh, “I mean, not the necklace—he’s just pretending. I’m pretending, too. None of this is… real.”
Sophia gasps and Yunjin frowns.
“Are you… sure? What for?” Sophia asks.
Yunjin nods in agreement. “I’ve always thought that dude had feelings for you, but I… I didn’t realise it’s actually wrong and my deductions were totally off.”
You scoff, though Yunjin’s words left you wondering. “Taesan doesn’t like me—have you girls seen how he treats me?”
“He treats you well,” Yunjin states plainly, shoving a spoonful of rice into her mouth.
“No,” you immediately shake your head, “he hates seeing me happy! He always finds a way to stick his annoying nose into my life, mocking me. He’s like always, always there to only laugh at my face.”
“Then why did he agree?” Sophia asks.
“To what?”
“To fake date you,” she continues, taking a sip of her yakult. “Well, I’m sure you have a plan—a contract and all—don’t you?”
Your eyes widen. How do these two girls know you so well?
“Yeah. I do. I’m doing all this because of Anton,” the look on your friends’ faces makes you feel a little relieved, “I need him to shut up about me.”
You recall the ridiculous rumour you’ve heard about you from Yunjin, that’s been going around like crazy—the rumour that you used to date Anton because he’s rich and that you used him as a bribe to get outstanding grades. Those close to you knew that is and would never become true—yet people are always jealous of others who have certain things better than them.
It may seem like a small matter to some, but to you, it’s a matter of reputation. Your whole image and potentially, your graduation is at risk. What if the rumour reaches some professor and they report you? You couldn’t risk the huge amount of money and time you spent, only to be scrapped off the dean’s list due to some rumour.
Yunjin herself had recorded proof of Anton trying to turn her against you, using that rumour. If she hadn’t shown you the recording, you wouldn’t have believed that sweet, kind Anton was the one who spread those malicious whispers about you.
Now, you’ve got to end it all. One way or another.
You continue finishing your lunch, Taesan somehow in mind. By the end of your lunch, you’re convinced that this is truly all an act—it’s nothing real, and in the end, you’re both just people who hate each other and use each other for selfish, personal reasons.

“DO I really have to wear your ugly varsity jacket?” Dongmin hears you grunt through the call. He stifles a laugh, tossing a ball up and down.
“Obviously, you dimwit,” he replies, “you’re my girlfriend, aren’t you?”
Dongmin lets himself smile. The word rolls off his tongue like a simple melody—it feels natural for him to say. He finds it odd, yet entertaining—your reaction is worth it all. Besides, it’s quite refreshing to take a break from hating you, sometimes.
“Besides, your ex is going to be there,” Dongmin reminds, his voice more throaty than expected. “He’s on the team as well, remember?”
“Yeah,” he catches your quiet answer.
“Anyway, how do you even have time for all this?” you question from the other end of the line.
“Hmm,” Dongmin hums, “I do have time.”
“Don’t fucking lie to me,” you hiss. “You’re in law school, Han Taesan.”
“What? Like it’s hard?”
Dongmin lets out a hearty laugh as he hears you gasp—one of the loudest and most genuine expressions he’s gotten out of you yet.
“I’m so done with you,” you huff. Dongmin hears you shuffle through your closet, most likely finding something to wear.
“You say that everytime,” Dongmin whispers to himself softly.
“Anyway,” you announce loudly, “you better have some food for me once I arrive—I’m wearing your stupid varsity jacket.”
“Alright, sweetheart, anything for you,” Dongmin jests in a sing -song voice.
He hears you yelp in disgust, chuckling. “Yuck! Fuck off, Taesan!”

IT’S a friendly match, nothing serious, Taesan had said; yet you’re here amongst other significant others, to watch him and his team play against another school’s team.
At the bleachers, you feel called out, and insanely out of place. Everyone looks so in love—girlfriends wearing jerseys with their boyfriends’ numbers and names on the back, painted their faces accordingly, and even cheering for them with their hearts; mothers and siblings gathering together to support their sons and brothers.
Everyone looks so genuinely in love, and you’re the only one who’s there just because you have to. You arrived only two minutes before the match started, too, because you obviously don’t love Taesan enough to be rescheduling your work shift to see him play.
You fidget with the edges of the varsity jacket you’re wearing, oddly feeling how it’s perfectly oversized on you.
Earlier, Taesan had spotted you sitting awkwardly on the bleachers. He ran over to you, quickly handing you a quesadilla and a cup of bubble tea, before jogging back to the basketball court to warm up. He didn’t say anything, nor did you—but the gesture made you feel weirdly fuzzy.
Taesan did actually get you some food, even though you grumpily yelled at him to do so. You thought he wouldn’t, just so that he could get on your nerves, just like he always does.
You watch him and the team warm up, pumping up positive energy with each other. You take a bite of your quesadilla, trying to ease your heart—yet you just can’t forget the real reason why you’re here.
Jersey number 35.
The whistle blows, indicating the start of the game, and you catch Anton’s glance at you. He gives you a wide smile, winking twice—a sign that he made up, thanking you for coming, just like the old days. You grimace, turning away.
The mission is to make it seem like I’m in love with Taesan.
You intently watch Taesan play in the arena, his moves sharp and powerful. He slips through the opposition’s defense flawlessly, scoring goals smoothly. Every time he throws the ball, it gets into the hoop—people erupt in cheers and he’s surrounded by his teammates.
And every time, Taesan looks up at you, flashing his signature smirk. His grin sparkles, lighting up the room—it makes you feel like you’re the only one in the huge arena.
It makes you feel odd.
Like there’s so much more under that grin he flashes to you every time he scores.
You touch the pendant on your décolletage, the cold metal stinging against your skin. Your fingers trace the letters—the initials of Taesan’s birth name—reminding you this is all a set-up. You’re supposed to pretend, and Taesan is pretending too.
He must be.
Taking a deep breath, you tug the varsity jacket closer to your body, shoving your hands into its pockets. The weight of Taesan’s name and number lay heavy on your back, yet you don a bright smile—trying your best to show your support for him.
Right now, you’re Han Taesan’s girlfriend. Player number 11’s girlfriend.
The match ends with Anton’s final goal, and KOZ Academy’s team wins 115-113. The entire gym erupts in waves of cheer and heartfelt hugs, every attending person feeling proud of their team, losing or not. You jog down the stairs, heading towards Taesan, whose height stands out in the crowd.
When you reach the end of the stairs, you notice Anton’s gaze on you. You glance at him, the weight of past memories dragging you down. At the end of these exact same stairs, you used to run straight to Anton, engulfing him in a hug after a match. You used to kiss his cheek, congratulating him for a successful game. You used to feel like your entire world revolved around him, and that you would be happy with him.
But that was in the past. Now, you can look at Anton with nothing in your heart. You feel nothing but plain resentment—damning him for the things he did to you. You had thought he was the love of your life, that you’d grow old with him—but Anton had other plans, and another girl that he prioritised more than you.
You turn your head away, directing your gaze towards Taesan. He’s talking to his friends, his hair wet from the sweat. He’s grinning proudly, talking about something that’s interesting to boys.
You sigh. Hopefully this whole set-up works—Anton leaves you alone, the rumours die down, and you can go back to bashing Taesan’s head.
And hopefully, you can move on, too. Once and for all.
From the corner of your eyes, you see Anton take a step towards you. Though, what you don’t see is that Taesan is faster. He waves at you, calling your name with a big grin, before running to give you a hug.
Your eyes widen upon the impact, and it’s like everything is in slow motion.
Taesan pulls away, ruffling your hair. His eyes crinkle with his grin. “Are you proud of me, darling?”
Darling.
You gulp.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
You give him a laugh, trying your best to not make it sound staged. Your nose crinkles at the smell of sweaty boys. Taesan notices, of course, and he chuckles.
“Sorry, I must smell bad. I’ll be sure to spray on some more deodorant next time.”
You gaze into Taesan’s eyes, his arms still around your waist. There’s some kind of softness behind his teasing look—something that you’ve never seen before.
A small smile forms on your lips, one that you’re unable to hold back. “Good job, Taesan.”
“Yeah?” Taesan laughs, his eyes forming crescent moons. “Thanks, Y/N.”
He then leans in to whisper, “that’s the first time I’ve heard that from you.”
You push him away, rolling your eyes. “Fuck off, Taesan. I’ll be waiting at the bus stop.”
Taesan laughs loudly as you stomp away. “By the way,” he yells, “you look good wearing my number, sweetheart!”
You lower your head, biting your lips to fight two things—the urge to flash the middle finger to the jolly Taesan behind you, and the weird fluttering feeling that erupts in your stomach every time he calls you ‘sweetheart’.
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
“Y/N,” you turn around, finding a panting Anton in front of you.
You’re standing in line outside one of the most famous pasta restaurants in the heart of the KOZ School of Medicine square, waiting to buy this one pasta dish you’ve been craving for the entire month. You didn’t tell anyone you’d be here—not even Taesan or the girls—so you’re weirded out by the fact that your ex found you here.
“...Anton,” you curtly acknowledge.
“Is it true?” he asks.
You force your eyes close for a second, wishing that it wasn’t wrong to beat someone up. “What?”
“That you’re dating Han Taesan. I saw him kissing your cheek last time.”
Your heart almost stops beating for a second. Almost two months have passed, and almost everyone in the entire campus of KOZ Academy knows that you and Taesan are finally getting tired of fighting each other—falling in love instead.
Your plan has passed the soft launch phase, and now, you’re having your nemesis call you sweet, adoring nicknames out in public.
“Yes,” you answer, managing a deadpan expression. “What about it?”
“Do you love him?”
You narrow your eyes at Anton, feeling like if he keeps on shooting questions like this, he’d go home with a black eye. “Why does it matter if I love him or not?”
“Because,” Anton starts, his voice beginning to waver with every following word, “you used to love me.”
His words hang in the air, thick with a known, cursed history. You could hear your heart stutter for a split second, but you shake your head, quickly suppressing the feeling. You take in a sharp breath, feeling the heat of old anger rise in your chest. You force yourself to look at Anton, eyes hardening.
“That was two years ago, Anton,” you say, your voice detached. “And you made sure to end it, remember?”
Anton’s face flickers with something—guilt, regret, maybe even a hint of fear—but you’re not interested in seeing it. You’re sick of it—too familiar with the way he can spin his words to make himself seem like the victim.
“You don’t get to do this,” you continued, lips tightening into a thin line. “You don’t get to just show up and act like we can pick up where we left off, after what you did with Mina."
Anton’s face darkens the moment your old best friend’s name leaves your mouth, but you hold his gaze without flinching. Anton opens his mouth, probably to throw another lame and poorly explained excuse that you’ve heard before, but you’re faster than he is.
“Save it,” you snap. “You don’t have any right to ask me if I love Taesan after what you did. You lost that right the moment you lied to me and slept with her.”
Anton looks taken aback, as if he hadn’t expected you to bring that up, but obviously, you don’t care. You’ve held your feelings in for so long—leaving them behind quietly to try and move on without a commotion. You’ve spent enough time letting him walk all over you in the past—you’re not about to let him do it again.
For a moment, Anton looks like he’s about to say something more, but you don’t give him a chance. You turn away, taking a small step back as you glance briefly at the line in front of you. “I’m done with this conversation, Anton. You should be, too.”

THE next morning, after your first class of the day, you sigh as you find yourself waiting outside of a rather packed coffee shop—allegedly Taesan’s favourite one—bundled up in Taesan’s scarf. Autumn is starting to give way to winter, and as it’s doing so, the winds and temperatures are getting crazier. You bury your face further into the softness of Taesan’s scarf, letting the mixture of champagne orange, passion fruit, and sugar vanilla attack your senses. It’s disturbing, once the fact that the scarf that’s warming you up belongs to Taesan registers in your head; however, you had no choice. Freezing your nose off was the only other option.
“Hey,” you hear Taesan’s voice, turning instantly towards him.
“Apple pie latte?” he says, handing you a warm cup of said coffee. Grabbing it from him, you perk your eyebrows up.
“How did you know?” you say, pushing the scarf down. Taesan shrugs, sipping his own drink. You glance at the sticker on his cup: cinnamon maple latte.
“Instincts.”
You snicker at his reply, rolling your eyes. “Cut me some slack.”
The two of you then walk back towards the law school complex, where both of your classes will be held next. The winds begin to blow, and you find yourself hiding half your face behind Taesan’s scarf. You squint your eyes, blinking harshly as the stray strands of hair sting them.
“I love autumn, but not this kind,” you mumble.
Taesan glances at you, and in one swift motion, he grabs your free hand and shoves it into the pocket of his coat. He interlaces his hand with yours, letting his body warmth transfer to you.
Your eyes widen, your brain slow at processing the situation. You whip your head towards the tall man walking with you, his expression relaxed as ever.
“What are you doing?” you hiss, trying to pull away.
Taesan gives you a look that yells ‘really, Y/N?’. “Keeping you warm?”
“I don’t need your help,” you retort, yanking your hand away.
Taesan grabs it back, shoving it into his pocket. This time, his grip on your hand is firmer than before. “I don’t need my girlfriend to freeze to death—it’s going to ruin my reputation.”
Realisation hits you, again, like a ton of bricks right at the face.
Oh.
“Okay,” you say quietly, letting him do his thing. You look away, deciding to admire the surrounding golden trees. You take a deep breath, reminding yourself of how this whole ‘thing’ with Taesan is temporary—and having a personal heat packet isn’t too bad.
Once the two of you reach the lecture hall together, people begin to clearly spectate. You pull your hand away from him, rushing to your usual seat. Taesan, his expression calm as he always is, walks over to his usual seat as well—directly behind you.
Then, two minutes before the lecture starts, the person you truly hated comes into view, and decides to sit at the empty seat next to you.
“Hi, Y/N,” your ex, Anton, greets you with the biggest smile on his face. You mentally sob—already dreading the three hours to come.
You turn away, scooting as far as you could. The memories rush like a flood you can’t stop—reminding you of the heart-tearing pain the boy sitting next to you caused.
“Y/N? You alright? You look pale,” Anton says, probing further.
“It’s the weather,” you reply dully, your lips downturned. You unravel Taesan’s scarf from your neck, placing it on your lap. Your eyes fixed onto the lecture, you ignore Anton’s attempts to get you conversing with him.
“Y/N, are you free after class?” Anton whispers, twenty minutes into the lecture.
“No.” You give him a side glance.
“And you don’t even take IT,” you fake a smile, “so I don’t think you should even be here. With due respect, get lost, yeah?”
“I’m honoured,” Anton whispers back. The soft smile on his face makes you gag. “You still remember things about me.”
“Oh, please,” you grimace, anger beginning to bubble up inside of you. “I’d rather make out with Taesan than remember even the tiniest bit of–”
You suck in your breath sharply, your cheeks flushing at an alarming rate. You had blurted your words out too fast to even register the fact that you’re actually wearing the said person’s initials in a necklace ‘round your neck.
“You’d rather what now, sweetheart?”
Hearing Taesan’s voice, you can almost see his smug smirk decorating that annoyingly attractive face of his.
Your eyes widen.
I did not just admit that.
You turn to Taesan for a moment, flashing him a sheepish smile. You quickly spin back to face the lecture, forcing yourself to focus.
After the lecture concluded, you find yourself stuck in a sticky situation—Anton just can’t let you go out.
“Do you want to go and grab lunch together? It’s pretty late for lunch, and I know your stomach gets upset easily if you don’t eat,” you wince upon hearing his soft tone.
You frown, hating the fact that Anton knows almost a lot of things about you. “No, Anton, I’m sure I said–”
“She said no, Lee, I’m sure even a stupid motherfucker can understand.”
Seeing Anton’s eyes almost pop out at the sight of Taesan next to you, you’re sure that you look the same. You turn sharply towards Taesan, who has his hand perfectly placed on your back. The look on his face is fierce and scary, like he’s about to completely destroy Anton exactly where he’s standing.
“Han,” Anton addresses him curtly. “I didn’t know that you’re on… good terms with Y/N.”
You fidget with the charm on your décolletage, collecting every bit of energy you have to maintain a stoic expression.
Taesan flashes a sly smirk, pride radiating from his eyes as the corners of Anton’s lips twitch. “Why? Is it important to you who I’m close to?”
“No, but given your history with Y/N—I don’t want her to get hurt,” Anton blathers, “so I’m gladly asking you to–”
“What? Fuck off?” Taesan scoffs. Your eyes bulge, somehow not expecting Taesan’s choice of words to be so vulgar. “I think that’s what you’re supposed to do, Lee.”
“Y/N,” Anton says, desperation vivid in his voice. He grabs your wrist, and you instinctively step back. “C’mon, let’s go. I know you don’t like this stupid asshole here–”
Before you could even act, Taesan steps in front of you, shoving Anton to the floor. The students who are still lingering around stop to look. You couldn’t hold in your gasp—Taesan looks extremely angry, you swear you could see fire in his eyes.
A thought clicks into your head.
Taesan is the it-boy, of course he’s good at acting.
You take a step back, weirded by the heavy feeling of disappointment that begins to cloud your heart as soon as you remember the arrangement.
It’s just acting, Y/N. Get it together.
“Don’t touch her, bastard,” you hear Taesan hiss before he turns to you. Anger still lingering around, you watch with silence as Taesan relaxes the tension in his jaw. In a mirroring silence, he gestures for you to follow him out. You nod.
As you turn on your heel, Anton calls out, visibly irritated.
“Y/N,” he says, “what’s going on?”
You give him a mocking smile. You swing Taesan’s scarf around your neck. “I don’t think I owe you an explanation, Anton.”
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
AS you and Taesan walk out of the lecture hall, you can’t ignore the heavy weight settling in your chest. It keeps replaying in your mind: the way Taesan stepped in, fiercely protective—it’s all an act, right? You sneak a glance at Taesan, but his face is unreadable, his jaw still slightly clenched from the encounter.
“Taesan… you didn’t have to do that,” you mumble, playing with the hem of his scarf.
Taesan exhales through his nose, his shoulders rising slightly. “I didn’t like the way he was looking at you,” he then adds under his breath, “fucking bastard.”
You blink, unintentionally slowing your steps. That’s… different from what you expected.
“Taesan,” you try again, but he shoves his hands into his pockets, picking up the pace.
You know you should just let it go, but the air between the two of you feels heavier than it was before. Was it just an act? Maybe it was—and that Taesan’s acting skills are as good as the rom-com actors—but something about the way he had looked at Anton; like he was seconds away from doing more than just shoving him to the ground.
It feels too… real.
A sudden gust of wind cuts through your coat, making you shiver. Instantly, Taesan grabs your wrist and pulls you into a nearby convenience store.
“Sit,” he orders, disappearing for a moment. You watch him move through the aisles, confusion twisting in your chest. You take a seat exactly where he ordered you to, your head fuzzy from the mixture of confusing, unnamed emotions.
When he returns, he kneels slightly, pressing a warm drink and a heat pack into your hands, his fingers lingering just a second too long.
“You’re hopeless,” he murmurs, shaking his head. “First my scarf, now this.”
You gasp dramatically, rolling your eyes as your lips twitch, your heart knocking against your ribs. “You’re the one who keeps giving me things.”
Taesan just hums in response, his gaze locking onto yours. His usual unreadable expression softens, something almost unreadable flickering in his eyes.
Your grip tightens on the cup, trying to shake off the way your body reacts to his warmth. This whole thing with Taesan was supposed to be temporary. So why did it feel like something had changed?
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
DONGMIN takes several deep breaths, his eyes shut. The jazz music plays in the background, and the buzz of the cafe calms him down.
No wonder Y/N likes this place.
Dongmin opens his eyes, finding himself staring at you ordering drinks and some food for the two of you. You had dragged him here as soon as you finished your drink at the convenience store, repeating that you needed to treat him to some food. Your voice rings in his head, telling him that he needed to follow you to the coffee shop, to cool off his steam.
“Do you like apple pie?” you ask, setting a plate of two slices of said dessert, accompanied by two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
“Why do you even ask if you’ve already gotten it? Seems like my preference doesn’t matter,” Dongmin replies, putting on the usual smirk.
Your eyes widen and he chuckles.
“Well,” you huff, “I like apple pie—and it’s impossible to find someone who doesn’t.”
“Alright,” Dongmin laughs, and it hits. His laughter dies down as the realisation sinks in—watching you devour your slice of apple pie like it’s the only food you’ll eat until the end of time.
Dongmin, as he puts a bite of his food into his mouth, realises how messed up he is. He realises how often a hearty laugh escapes him when he’s with you—how a flustered, frustrated mess you make him.
“Why are you being nice to me?” Dongmin asks. He pokes his fork absentmindedly into the crust of the apple pie, second guessing his question the moment it leaves him.
You and he had always, always been rivals—a pair that’s never meant to get along. He’d always find you muttering curses and throwing glares in his direction; and he’d always find himself trying his best to reciprocate your disdain for him.
Dongmin does hate you, too.
He hates how you’re so confident, so diligent, so talented. He despises how hard you work, how determined you are, how you seem to always effortlessly bring him down and defeat him in academics. He feels the most intense dislike for you—whenever you walk in the room, he feels like the world is about to explode, along with his sanity.
Dongmin hates, with a burning passion, how he can’t stop himself from falling in love with you. He absolutely loathes the way you smile, the way your eyes crinkle when you laugh, and the way you look at him—with such fiery determination that’s enough to knock him off his feet. He completely hates the way that he has to keep his tongue sharp, and his attitude insufferable, for you to give him a sliver of your attention. He perfectly hates the way it’s impossible for him to let you know that he doesn’t hate you, at all.
Dongmin watches you open your mouth to reply, yet you don’t for a few moments. You return his gaze, uncertainty playing around in her eyes.
“What do you mean?” you ask, tilting your head in confusion. “We’re just eating apple pie, Taesan,” you laugh sheepishly.
For the first time, Dongmin doesn’t have an immediate answer. He swallows the bite of apple pie in his mouth, unsure of what he should say next. His smirk fades and hesitation engulfs him.
You notice this, of course, and your frown deepens. Though, before you could do anything, Jaehyun—Dongmin’s friend, suddenly appears.
He greets Dongmin, patting his shoulder. “Yo, Taesan, long time no see! Wait–” he pauses, laying his eyes on you. “Wait, am I dreaming? You two? Sitting together? Laughing? Are pigs flying now?”
You immediately shake your head, laughing along with Jaehyun. Dongmin, on the other hand, is dazed. He stays silent, still unsure of what to say. He’s finding everything peculiar—the way he’s unable to say anything, the way that his heart is thumping loudly against his chest at the mention of you as his girlfriend.
He watches you politely say goodbye to Jaehyun, gaining certainty with every beat of his heart.
His little crush on you is resurfacing, after two years of pushing it down with faked hatred.
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
AFTER Jaehyun leaves, you let yourself sneak a glance at Taesan, who’s absentmindedly poking holes in his already destroyed pie crust, avoiding your gaze. You notice his oddly quiet state—the Taesan you know would never miss the chance to throw in a witty remark.
You throw him a glare, slightly hoping it’d make him knock out of his trance. You set your fork down with an audible clink. “You’re being weird. I mean, you always are insufferably weird, but this is even weirder.”
Taesan scoffs, lifting his drink to his lips. “And you’re being annoying. Paranoid.”
You cross your arms, an annoyed grimace forming on your face. “Am I?”
Taesan holds your gaze for a moment too long, something flickering in his eyes before he looks away. “Maybe not.”
Oh.
You lean back, sighing dramatically. “Fine. I don’t get what you being weird has with me being paranoid, but yeah, I’m totally being paranoid. Definitely imagining things,” you scoff sarcastically.
Taesan hums in agreement. “You do that a lot.”
You choke on air. Glaring at Taesan, you retort, “you’re infuriating.”
“And yet, here you are, sharing dessert with me,” Taesan smirks, tilting his head.
You pause, blinking profusely.
That… is a valid point. How did you even get here? You and Taesan are supposed to be rivals. Aren’t you supposed to hate each other?
Your stomach twists, and suddenly, you find it difficult to swallow your final bites of apple pie.
After moments of deafening silence, you say, your voice slightly wavering, “you’re unbelievably good at dodging questions, Taesan.”
You bring your drink to your lips, hoping that you sounded casual.
Taesan looks up from his finished plate of apple pie, smirking as he leans back. “Oh, yeah? Have you ever considered that you’re too good at asking too many questions, and it’s insufferable?”
Your eyes widen slightly, flickering to the way that his eyes glare vaguely at you. “Maybe I am,” you admit quietly, “but you’re dodging the real ones.”
Taesan’s smirk falters a little bit, just for a second, and there’s something unrecognisable in his eyes. Something you can’t put a name on.
Maybe a shift in the air. Maybe it’s just your imagination. Or maybe it’s because your heart is racing just a little too fast.
You’re so focused on trying to read Taesan’s expressions that you don’t notice the way your voice softens. “So… if this whole thing is an act, why do I keep feeling like you actually care?”
You mentally hit yourself. That isn’t what you meant to say—and it’s certainly not what you would say in front of Taesan.
Though, it’s out before you can stop yourself. The words hang in the air, heavy and uncertain.
Taesan freezes, his eyes widening with a vulnerability for a fraction of a second. Then, just as quickly as it came, his guard comes back up. “Like we’ve discussed before, it’s an act. Nothing more.”
His voice is stern and plain, and his expression is stoic, but you catch the tremble in his hand as he’s fiddling with his fork.
That, somehow, doesn’t sit right with you.
You learn forward, the pendant swinging against your décolletage, your expression more serious now. “Then why do you care so much?”
You watch him closely, catching the tightening in his jaw and the way his hand proceeds to rest on the table, fingers anxiously tapping against the wood. Taesan doesn’t answer immediately, and instead, he looks away to drift his gaze to the window.
Your chest suddenly tightens. He’s acting like this is nothing, but you certainly feel it—the crack in the walls you’ve both constructed carefully against each other. It’s a tug at the back of your mind, a repeating whisper you’ve been trying so hard to push away.
And yet, the silence between you feels louder than ever.
Minutes pass by and the silence gets louder and louder. You’re lost in your own thoughts—realising just how much you’re affected by Taesan; just how much more you’re feeling than you want to admit. In the silence, you’re wondering, are you just imagining all this? Maybe it’s just you, maybe it’s the fact that you’re finding something more from this fake relationship you have with Taesan, your nemesis.
Though, there’s something that you can’t deny: the fact that your chest tightens with fluttering butterflies every time he gets too close, every time his words shift to something softer than usual, it’s something that makes your heart trip in your chest.
“Y/N,” Taesan calls, his voice softer than anticipated, and you’re pulled out of your train of thought. You look at him slowly, uncertain and afraid of what’s to come. He pauses, as if he’s unsure of what to say next. “What if… I told you I’m not sure if I can pretend much longer?”
His gaze finally meets yours, and for a moment, there’s no mask—just the raw sincerity in his eyes.
Your breath catches in your throat, your heart skipping a beat. You open your mouth, trying to say something—but nothing comes out. The evident truth in his words hits you like an ocean wave on a sunny day, and you can’t help but feel something is shifting between you both.
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
THE next few weeks pass by like a ridiculously large time-skip in a movie. You’re doing things like you usually do—attend classes, do mootings, send in assignments, study for exams. Though, there’s one big thing in your life that you can’t ignore—Taesan, your fake-dating arrangement, and the lingering, unspoken tension between the two of you. The first week after the coffee shop episode, you couldn’t sleep even a wink—your mind kept on replaying the scenes over and over again, the way you caught Taesan’s guard almost falling down. You’re sure you felt it too, the cracks in the walls you’ve built against him—even for a short moment.
At school, you’re hyper aware and extra distracted by Taesan. He’s doing his part of the agreement well, acting like he agreed he would. Every glance from him feels like a load of unspoken words, and the air between you two feels heavy. Every day you ponder, unsure of what to do with the new, fragile tension that’s settled between you and Taesan.
Today is the same—everything passes in a blur of lectures, assignments, and studying. You drag your heavy footsteps out of the room, your head spinning at the thought of the many assignments waiting for you. You look up, and the moment you step into the hallway, you see Taesan leaning against the wall, phone in hand, looking as calm as ever.
You walk near him, and your eyes meet—you see a flicker of something there—a tension, a question neither of you have the answer to.
“Y/N,” Taesan greets you with a casual, unreadable smile. You pause in your steps, turning to face him.
“Hi,” you reply quite timidly. You’re trying to sound casual, but you can hear the slight hitch in your voice. There’s no pretending this isn’t different now. There’s no pretending you didn’t almost cross a line last time.
Taesan takes a final glance at his phone before shoving it into his pocket. “Still pretending this is just an act?” he asks, his voice surprisingly soft but laced with something familiar, almost teasing.
You pause, your breath stuck in your throat. Your heart, yet again, skips a beat, and you try to brush it off by laughing nervously. “Me? Pretending? I’m not pretending,” you say, and it’s directed more towards yourself than to him.
You’re not sure who’s trying to convince who anymore.
Taesan looks taken aback. He blinks profusely before putting his usual, calm expression back on. “Yeah,” he whispers, nodding, “I’ll see you around, Y/N.”
You watch him walk away, heart twisting in the weirdest way.
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
DONGMIN hates the way everything is now. Why can’t he just tell you everything? Why can’t he just tell you that he isn’t pretending, that he actually cares?
He wants to stop everything–going back to shoving insults at your face might be the safest option of them all. Yet, Dongmin finds himself caring for you in the little ways—wrapping his scarf around your neck, adjusting the placement of your bangs with a simple ruffle, placing a tin of coffee and bread in front of you whenever you seem exhausted with studying, sliding post-its to you with his handwriting reminding you to take breaks when needed. He still finds his heart racing upon seeing you; the way your lips pout when you’re deep in thought, the way you smile and laugh so adorably upon hearing a funny joke from your friends, the way you’re still so cute even when frustrated.
As he walks away, Dongmin fights with his own heart. Why was he acting like this? It’s so clear that you’re expecting something more, but why is he pushing you away?
Dongmin takes a deep breath. Yeah, he’s scared. He’s afraid that maybe it’s all in his head, maybe you’re the one acting so well and it’s just gotten to him.
Dongmin swears to get himself together, but it looks like he’s going to need more than just mental affirmations.
The next day, he misses his alarm, for the first time in forever, and is running late to his 9 AM lecture. He’s speed walking through students, dodging them with a bag hanging on one shoulder and his hair still partially wet. Just as he’s about to near the entrance of the Law building, he hears raised voices nearby. He puts his hood up, his first instinct is to ignore it all—he’s got no time to eavesdrop on people’s business. However, he recognises one of the two quarrelling voices—yours.
Dongmin’s steps come to a halt, and he turns to face you. His eyes slightly widen and his shoulders begin to tense as he sees you and Anton standing a few feet away, locked in an argument. He’s a bit too far away to hear the full conversation, yet he catches some bits of it.
You’re standing at your full height, stiffly in front of Anton, arms crossed and eyes blazing with fury. Anton, on the opposite side of you, no longer has that sickening, innocent smile—instead, he’s flashing you a mocking smirk.
The argument is already reaching its peak, yet Dongmin is quick to analyse the situation just by picking up a few bits.
“You think you’re really something, don’t you?” Anton taunts.
You scoff. Dongmin could tell you’re offended, yet the mask you put on really makes a difference. “At least I don’t have to put other people down to feel important.”
Anton scoffs back, “please. You act like you’re above all this, but you’re just as desperate for attention as everyone else.”
Dongmin clenches his jaw, watching the argument unfold as his fingers begin to twitch.
You give Anton a mocking laugh, stepping forward. “I don’t care what you think, Anton Lee. I don’t care if you think I don’t love Taesan, because what matters is my own feelings, not yours. And I’m done wasting my time on you.”
Before you could turn away and enter the building, Anton grabs your wrist.
It’s not aggressive, but it’s enough. Enough to make Dongmin see red.
Everything’s a blur—one second later, he’s towering in front of Anton, his eyes glaring daggers.
“Let her go,” his voice is low and threatening, as sharp as a blade.
Anton looks up, initially startled, but as soon as he sees Dongmin, he rolls his eyes. His hand still around your wrist, he says with a sneer, “look who’s here, Y/N’s knight in shining armour! Oh, so great, always the hero.”
Dongmin is too busy counting down the ways he could destroy Anton’s life to be noticing how immediate the warmth creeps up your cheeks. Dongmin, in one fluid motion, steps closer, standing between you and Anton.
“Did you hear me?” his voice drops deadly lower than before, his posture relaxed yet his eyes are dangerous. “Let. Go.”
Anton huffs, roughly letting go of your hand. He shakes his head. “You two are seriously something else,” he mutters before storming away.
You and Dongmin stand next to each other, cautiously eyeing Anton until he disappears from sight. For that moment, none of you say anything.
“What was that for?” you say suddenly, crossing your arms. “I didn’t need you to step in.”
Dongmin shoves his hood down to his neck, raising his eyebrow. Feeling slightly irritated, he scorns. “Yeah? Looked like you were having a great time.”
You roll your eyes, scoffing, but something pinches Dongmin’s heart as he notices there’s no real bite behind it. “I’m fine—I had it all handled.”
Silence.
Dongmin exhales sharply, words shooting out of his mouth without second thought. “I know. It’s just–”
He stops, his eyes landing on your wrist. Closes his mouth.
You wait for a few moments, before warily asking. “What? Just what?”
Dongmin hesitates. Suddenly, it’s all he can push out of his throat. He’s already there, halfway crossing the line he’s put between you and him for the past two years.
And then, it just… slips out.
“I just can’t stand it, okay?”
Your frown deepens, confused. “Stand… what?”
Dongmin lets out a frustrated breath, turning sharply to completely face you. “I can’t stand seeing you with people like that fucking bastard. I can’t stand watching you get into these stupid situations. And I really, really can’t stand how much I—”
His eyes widen, and his words stumble upon a stop. Dongmin stammers, realising what he was just about to say.
“Taesan,” you call, gently, hope suddenly shimmering in your eyes. “How much you what?”
Dongmin freezes. He’s silent, tongue frozen, unable to utter another word.
He can’t say it.
Instead, he runs a hand through his hair, muttering curses under his breath.
“You know what?”
“Taesan–”
“Next time,” he says quickly, in a softer voice, “don’t… waste your time on a guy like him.”
Your eye contact is still intact, you open your mouth to argue, but nothing comes out. Your eyes widen for a split second—as if you’re catching on to the feelings displayed, unknowingly, on Dongmin’s face.
His concern is real.
“W-we should go,” you stammer instead, gesturing to the Law building.
Dongmin nods. He grabs your backpack from you, signalling for you to walk in first. “Yeah. Let’s go.”
You force yourself to walk as swiftly as possible to the lecture hall, heart pounding, mind racing. Behind you, Dongmin’s entire body is tense. He’s finally realising he can’t keep his feelings for you hidden forever.

THE next day, you can’t stop thinking about Taesan—and whatever he was about to say to you. Your mind races with a million different thoughts throughout the day. What if he actually feels the same? What if you’re not the only one looking for something more in this fake arrangement?
However, given that exams are looming closer, you’re only given a short amount of time to dwell on your thoughts. After your last class of the day, you find yourself cooped up in the library, studying the rest of the day away. Several of your friends join you, too.
The study group grows, joined by both your friends and Taesan’s—though, you didn’t even realise that Taesan is sitting across you the entire day, until everyone starts leaving one by one.
By midnight, it’s only you and him. You don’t look up, but you can feel your heart thumping faster than usual. You’re hyper aware of your surroundings—how close he is, how his scent feels comforting yet intimidating, and how his presence is reminding you of something that you’re too afraid to admit.
“Y/N,” you open your eyes to someone gently shaking your shoulder, the reality of things crashing onto you all at once. You lift your head up, realising that you fell asleep in the middle of reviewing a past paper. Your eyes meet with Taesan’s concerned gaze.
His voice is low and soft, as if it’s only for you. “Let’s take a break. You’ve been snoozing off way too many times.”
Your heart is beating a little faster than usual, but you agree. Taesan’s request seems too casual, and he looks like he needs a break too.
You follow his lead, walking a little bit behind him to the convenience store that’s still open in campus grounds. He’s silent, observing you and letting you pick anything you want before paying for both your things and his.
“Go sit,” he says, holding your instant tteokbokki package in hand, along with his instant noodles. “I’ll heat these up.”
Taesan quickly moves to the microwave before you can say anything in retaliation, a sign that you take seriously. He’s not in the mood for any fights.
You take a seat, and soon after, Taesan joins you. He puts your instant meal in front of you, breaking your chopsticks for you.
“Here,” he says, his voice quiet. “Careful, the tteok is still hot.”
He then slips his coat around you before turning back to his own beverages.
You find yourself staring at him, long after he’s handed you your things. You watch him, peacefully releasing his tension—running a hand through his hair, chugging down a cup of coffee.
Everything around you looks like it has a blurred filter on, yet one thing is crystal clear: Taesan, and his evident care for you. The longer you stare at him, the more you realise.
He’s always been the one. He’s always been there.
It hits you harder than any bad grade has ever done.
Taesan has always been like this—quietly looking out for you, quietly caring for you.
All this while, all the banter, the little arguments, moments, and glances—it’s not just rivalry. It’s not just the fact that he always finds a way to make you all grumbly and irritated. It’s not just the fact that, even back when you were with Anton, he’d always find a way to show his care for you.
It’s not just the fact that you enjoy his company, even if he makes you feel like you want to bang your head against the wall.
You like him.
You like Han Taesan.
You quickly turn your head away, blood rushing to your head as soon as the realisation hits you. You stuff a few bites of instant tteokbokki into your mouth, wanting to quickly get rid of whatever this warm, refreshing feeling is.
“Can you stop looking at me like that, L/N?”
You cough, shocked at how his sudden comment breaks through the almost comforting silence. All the past moments you’ve had with him—the banter, the insults, the arguments—run through your head as soon as your last name, what Taesan had always called you, reaches your ears.
“Like what?” emboldened by the awakening of your feelings, you retort, your tone more challenging than you intended.
Taesan snaps, pushing his chair back, raking a frustrated hand through his hair.
“Like I’m your fucking boyfriend.”
“What?” you’re confused, not expecting that out of his mouth. “What are you–”
“Like you’re waiting for me to say something that I know I can’t take back.”
“Say it, then.”
You say, challenging him. It feels sentimental—like the old days, where all you did when you met Taesan was throw taunting words at him. But at the same time, the words come out of your mouth without realising—daring the two of you to finally cross the line.
“I like you, okay? I probably love you at this point, I don’t know. I don’t know when it started, but I do. And I—” He exhales sharply, his voice softer. “I don’t want to keep pretending I don’t.”
The world stops spinning and you stare at him, blank.
Your tongue feels numb, your heart racing at a million miles per hour.
You feel the same, you’re sure, but you don’t know how to respond. Do you smile and say it back? Do you tease him, calling him an idiot like you always do?
“I didn’t mean to fall for you,” you catch Taesan muttering.
You smile. “Me too,” you say softly.
Taesan lifts his head immediately, sharply turning to you with widened eyes. “... pardon?”

THE next few days feel like a refreshing spring breeze in the peak of winter, yet the air is filled with a cute awkwardness. After the confession, neither of you explicitly announce to one another that the two of you are a real couple now—yet your interactions feel new and unscripted, but no one exactly is making the first move.
Of course, your friends notice before the two of you do.
You’re sitting at the food hall together with Yunjin and Sophia, eating breakfast. You’re halfway through your pancakes, and Taesan—or Dongmin, as you call him now—suddenly takes a seat next to you.
“Mind if I join, girls?” he asks, a charming grin on his face. He’s asking the table, yet his gaze is directed to you. You bite your lip shyly, nodding.
“Sure, make yourself at home,” Yunjin says, her words laced with teasing. She watches with eagle eyes as Dongmin puts all of the sliced bananas from his serving of pancakes onto yours, knowing that you especially enjoy them with your breakfast pancakes. She snorts at the obvious look of love in Dongmin’s eyes, more evident now that he isn’t shoving insults at your face. “So, you two are really dating now?”
You choke on your bite of pancake, immediately blurting out,
“No!”
“Yes.”
You sharply turn to Dongmin, who has a smug look on his face. It’s the one look on his face that you’re used to, yet there’s a tint of pink on his cheeks. The edge of his smirk twitches, threatening to form into a cute, lovesick smile.
“...I see,” Sophia interrupts your awkward eye contact, sighing dramatically.
“We’re dating?” you ask Dongmin acutely, your brows connecting in an embarrassed frown.
“I don’t know,” Dongmin shrugs casually, the look in his eyes teasing. “Are we?”
The blush that instantly creeps up your cheeks tells you the answer. You look away, suddenly focused on the way you’re cutting your pancakes. Dongmin’s laugh echoes to your left, and your friends’ send you teasing looks.

A few months later, on the first week back after winter break, you go on a walk around campus with your boyfriend, Han Dongmin. It feels weird, calling him yours now. Just almost half a year ago, you were fighting your ego to have your nemesis fake-date you in order to intimidate your ex into leaving you and your life alone. Now, that same thorn in your side has become the light of your life, the apple of your eye. Now, the two of you are in something that’s not written on a flimsy contract.
Dongmin had also helped clear out the rumours surrounding you—in the most annoying, Han Taesan way—announcing the truth about Anton by spreading it like a rumour to everyone. You still get second-hand embarrassment remembering that day, bombarded by questions and apologies from acquaintances and people you’ve only seen around.
“You know,” you say dreamily, distracted by your train of thought, “you’re so annoying—but I love you.”
Dongmin freezes, his steps coming to an immediate halt. You, too, freeze in your steps as you realise you’re a few steps ahead of him now. You turn around, eyebrows perked up. “What’s wrong, Dongmin?”
Dongmin.
The sound of your voice calling his birth name repeats in his mind, like a favourite song on loop. He stares, unable to say anything. His eyes fall on the pendant dangling from your neck, one that you started wearing due to the fake-dating arrangement. He remembered insisting that you take it off, so that he can buy you a new one later, but you said that it’s special so you won’t take it off.
I love you.
Dongmin feels a smile slowly bloom on his face.
She said it. She didn’t even hesitate. It’s like it’s the easiest thing in the world.
His face softens, jogging up to you. He gives you a cheeky smile.
“Say that again.”
You frown. “What again?”
“The first part.”
“What–” you pause, eyes widening as you get what he’s talking about. Heat rushes up your cheeks, warming your face despite Dongmin’s scarf wrapped around it. “I–”
“Yeah,” Dongmin says, smirking as he wraps an arm around your shoulders. “Me too.”
You bury yourself into the familiar scent of Dongmin’s scarf as he kisses your cheek.
“Fuck you, Han Dongmin,” you grumble, ignoring the obvious butterflies in your stomach.
˚ ▒ ₊ㅤ Ⳋ᧙ ⁺
THAT weekend, you and Dongmin are eating lunch together at your favourite coffee shop. Dongmin had said that the vibes there makes him sleepy, and tried to bring you to eat at one of the more famous restaurants near the KOZ School of Engineering, yet the plan backfires on him when the line is certainly too long.
Now, the two of you are back at your favourite coffee shop, sipping warm cinnamon lattes.
“See?” you tease, smiling cheekily. “I told you this place is the best.”
Dongmin rolls his eyes, taking a big spoonful of the chocolate cinnamon roll on your plate. “I want to eat some real food, like kimchi jjigae, not these sweet chocolate desserts,” he complains, though he can’t hide the fact that he secretly loves it.
“Yet you’re the one finishing my cinnamon roll,” you retort, letting him subconsciously finish your dessert. You’re familiar with his love for chocolate.
Dongmin flashes you an innocent smile, shrugging. “Not my fault.”
Comfortable silence engulfs the two of you, letting you bask in each other’s presence. Suddenly, Dongmin leans closer, adjusting the place of the H.D pendant on your décolletage. Frozen, you watch him lean back into his seat, smiling as he admires you.
“You look good today,” he murmurs, “actually, you look good everyday.”
An undeniable tint of pink colours your face. “I’m literally wearing a black turtleneck sweater, Dongmin.”
His gaze softens. “Like the first time you sat next to me, three years ago, during our foundation year.”
Your eyes widen, your mind replaying the memory, fresh like it happened yesterday. “You… remember?”
“Of course,” Dongmin replies, his smile delicate.
“I even remember the day you walked up to me, confident and all. I thought you were going to brag to my face that you won first place for the quiz we had the day before, but then you told me to fake date you.”
You almost spit out the coffee from your mouth. “Han Dongmin!” you hiss. “Don’t remind me… it was so stupid.”
“Stupid?” Dongmin asks, tilting his head. The signature cocky smirk is back on his face. “Are you sure about that?”
“Yeah…” you sigh, “I mean, I could’ve resolved the matter by myself, you know–”
“But you know that I’m the best option,” Dongmin cuts you off, smug. You roll your eyes.
“I don’t think it’s stupid, though,” he continues, his expression softer. More… raw. “To be honest, I think I was ecstatic that you walked up to me that day.”
“Why?” you ask croakily.
“‘Cause I’ve always liked you, Y/N. I always have. I just don’t understand where things went wrong—maybe it’s the way I thought teasing you would gain me your attention at first. It did. But then, you became used to my teasing and thought of me as a threat—maybe ‘cause I’m smart as hell, too—but yeah. I don’t know how to say it but, all of that hatred was… pretend.”
You blink at him, too shocked to process his words. You try to reply, but mere stuttering comes out, and your face turns bright red.
Dongmin notices this, of course, and he turns on his shameless, impudent grin. “Besides, you said you’re going to grant me any wish that I have, right?”
Oh.
You inhale sharply. How could you forget? You immediately bring out your phone, checking the balance in your bank account. It’s quite a luxury, due to you working a few part time jobs during your break and whenever you can—but you certainly don’t think it’s fit for whatever grand wish Dongmin is about to demand from you.
“Fine,” you huff, “only because it’s part of our… old contract.”
“Old contract, huh?” Dongmin wheezes, already laughing hard. You frown, fighting back a smile.
“Why are you always laughing whenever I speak, dumbass?”
“Hey,” Dongmin pauses his laughter, flicking your forehead gently. It doesn’t even hurt, but you gasp dramatically, and he laughs it off. “It’s babe for you, sweet girl. And, I’m not laughing at you. I’m just admiring how cute and funny you are.”
Babe, huh?
You snort, hiding a smile. “Fine.”
“Anyway, speaking of the old contract,” Dongmin grins, “what’s the new one, then?”
“You haven’t even told me what sort of dumb, overpriced thing you want for your wish,” you say, lips set in a grim line. “And now you want another one?”
“My wish, huh?”
The unreadable look on his face makes you brace yourself and your wallet.
“Then, my darling, this is my wish.”
Dongmin leans forward, brushing his lips against yours. It’s subtle, short and sweet, but significant enough for you to realise it all—the reality of your feelings and his. He lingers for a while before sitting back in his chair.
“So,” he says coolly, ignoring the plain blush streaked across his face. “Can you grant me the wish? To kiss you anytime, and anywhere I want?”
“Basically, physical affection can be done anytime?” you say, quoting what this man in front of you said months ago, when both of you first agreed on the fake-dating situation. The whole absurd set-up that brought the two of you to where you are, today.
Dongmin laughs, clearly impressed. “Yeah,” he nods.
You give him a warm smile, glad that you’re finally able to follow your heart’s desires, and to not put up a wall of defense around him anymore.

Could I request a Jj x reader angst but with a happy ending ? Reader and Jj get into a fight and he says nasty things to her and they don’t speak for days until he sees her at a party where someone is flirting with her and they talk it out ?
TALK IT OUT.
jj maybank x kook! reader.
[ a/n ; this took entirely way too long for me to finish but lol hope you enjoy! ]
—
"JJ?" you called out softly, hearing the familiar onset of knocks at your bedroom window.
You could spot him through the glass– wearing a new bruise on his cheek. Sleepiness long forgotten, you jumped out of bed, quickly opening your window and ushering him in.
"Hey, Princess." He grinned the same toothy smile, as if his left cheek wasn't currently throbbing. Complying with your fussy movements, he sat at the edge of the bed, watching you rummage quietly around for a first aid kit.
You huffed, heading to your bathroom before coming back, the small bag in hand. "Jesus, what happened?" You muttered, more of a hypothetical question than anything else.
"You should see the other guy." He lightly jokes, avoiding the question altogether. It was like this every time– he'd show up, beaten and bruised, refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. And you knew it was coming from home, but JJ never let you catch onto more than that.
"JJ." You finally sighed out, tone stern.
"Y/n." He responded, grinning like a fool.
"I'm serious," you huffed. "You gotta tell me what's going on. This- this isn't healthy-"
"What, you want me to stop coming over here? I don't got anywhere else to go!" He scoffed, suddenly defensive.
"I want you to be honest with me!" You pleaded, still sitting at the edge of the bed, looking up as he paced throughout your room. "I know there's something going on at home, and I want to help, JJ-"
"You want me to be honest?" He breathed out, tongue poking at his cheek before he spoke up again. "Alright. Yeah, here's honesty- you live such a perfect life, princess. Nice house, nice family, living on figure 8. And you're what- hanging out with me? Some dirt bag from the cut? You wouldn't get what my life's like- alright? You can't understand."
"But I want to understand," you breathed out, standing and trying to meet his eyes. "If you'd just let me-"
"God, Y/n, I'm not some charity case! What, you gonna call CPS on me? Try and fix me? I'm already fucked up, I get that. But I don't need your fake pity. This- I don't know what you thought this was," he scoffs, each word digging further into your chest like a blade, "But this isn't a relationship, princess. It was just fun, okay? So stop tryin' to get all sappy-feely on me."
You recoiled at his words, going quiet. Your mind raced through all your times together, the pillow talks, late night rendezvous at the beach, or even the small and intimate moments where he'd come over, relying on you to patch him up and inevitably staying the night in your bed.
"Right," you agreed softly, missing the subtle regret on his face. "Sorry."
"Princess-"
"No, no, you're right," you shook your head, breathing out. "It's just casual. I shouldn't have overstepped," you cleared your throat, nodding towards the window. "You should go."
He went quiet, mouth opening and closing as if he tried to think of what to say in response. But he settled for a quick nod, crawling back out the window.
You don't reach out the next couple of days, ignoring JJ's attempts of trying to make small talk. But you'd caught yourself sulking in bed, deciding you needed to make a change. Sarah had coaxed you out of bed, deciding that a party with the kooks would be the best way to let loose.
You had your doubts, but she wouldn't take no for an answer.
So there you stood, next to the bonfire with a beer in hand. The night had been completely uneventful, until you were approached by some other party goer. You knew of the boy, his name has started with an E. Ethan? Evan? You racked your brain, plastering on a polite smile as he greeted you.
"Hey, Y/n," he grinned, nodding your way. "Having fun?"
"Hey, E..." you trailed off, a shy, slightly bashful smile on your face.
"Eden." He finished for you, chuckling. "Where's your bodyguard?"
You furrowed a brow, confused before it clicked. You and JJ always ended up at parties together, many aware of the unofficial official relationship you two had. It was another cruel reminder of his absence, but you pulled yourself out of it.
"Maybank? He's not- we're not really.."
"So you're available?" Eden grinned, his once boyish grin morphing into something that could only cause discomfort. You glanced around, hoping for an outlet out of the conversation.
"Okay, even if I was-" you scoffed, eyes widening when he took a step closer, the alcohol all consuming from his breath.
"Nah, cmon, let's go-"
"Hey, dickwad!"
You'd never been so happy to hear the familiar voice, turning and relaxing at the sight of his messy locks. JJ's arms were immediately on you, wrapping over your shoulder. "Tryin' to steal my girl?"
"Woah, she told me-"
"Get lost," JJ cut him off, grinning and waving him off with a gesture. Once he was out of sight, the blonde turned back to you, expression softening with concern. "You alright, baby? He didn't try anything, did-"
"I'm fine." You muttered, pulling back from his hold. You didn't meet his eye, your cold tone causing his shoulders to droop.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay?" He sighed, looking down at you. He paused, trying to collect his scattered thoughts. "I just- I've never really done anything more than hookups-"
"That's not an excuse-"
"Let me finish, woman," he huffed, pressing a finger over your lips to shut you up, suppressing a grin at the cute pout on your face. "I know it's not an excuse. But I got scared, and I didn't mean it, okay? It's just- you're perfect. You're from this great, rich, and nice family and I'm just- I'm just me. I'm broke, I have a dad who beats me, dirt poor-"
"You don't have to berate yourself so much, it's making me start to feel bad." You grumbled out, looking down at the space between you two.
"So you're sayin' it's working?" He grinned, lowering his head to meet your eyes. As the corners of your mouth quirked up, he pushed further. "Cmon, princess, y'know I'm sorry. Won't happen again."
You huffed at the promise, rolling your eyes. "Promise?"
"Scout's honor." JJ teased, eyes twinkling as he pressed a kiss to the corner of your mouth.
Any cold facade you'd put on melted at that, as you leaned in, head burying into his chest. "Asshole."
"I know." He laughed, playfully tickling your side. "And 'm sorry. Promise I'll talk with you about all that stuff."
"Good," you nodded, smiling softly up at him.
"Great," JJ added, grinning back. "Now can we please go back to the party so we can watch a drunk Kie yell about saving those damn turtles?"

Touring Babel - An Infinite Realms Remix Fic
Mr. Lancer planned for a simple field trip to the museum. He wasn't expecting to find himself and the entire class in the ghost zone, looking up at a mythological architectural landmark. He really should just accept the ghostly interference.
The class wanders in a loose cluster after Mr. Lancer on their way towards the museum through the parking lot.
“Excuse me, Mr. Lancer?” Danny raises his hand, shifting from foot to foot.
Mr. Lancer sighs the sigh of the aggrieved. He stops walking ahead of the group, turning to look at Danny.
“Yes, Mr. Fenton?” he asks.
“I know we just got off the bus, but I think we should go back.”
“And why is that?”
“That’s not a museum,” he points to the marble building ahead of them.
“Of course it’s the museum,” Mr. Lancer can’t help but scoff. “I think I would recognize…”
He trails off when he turns to look up at the towering structure. “That’s not a museum.”
The round tower of marble stretches higher than any skyscraper, tapering upwards until the top disappears into the clouds above.
The class gape upwards before looking around.
The once clear blue sky has been replaced with green. Purple clouds gather around the tower, drifting by lazily. The parking lot, once filled with other cars, is now nothing but a sparse field with scattered clumps of weeds and wildflowers. The bus they had just disembarked from has become a pile of stones.
“Paradise Lost!” Mr. Lancer declares quietly. “Where are we?”
“Too late,” Danny sighs.
“Danny?” Tucker sidles up, still staring up at the tower. “What in the actual fuck.”
“Transient portal? Maybe?” he shrugs. He glances around his class, “the real question is how do we get back?”
“Fentina, is this your loser parents’ fault?” Dash practically shouts from the other side of the group.
“They haven’t built anything new, so no,” a shiver goes down his spine making him gasp. He frowns, turning to glare at the empty field beside them, “but now I think I do know what started this.”
“Hello, Daniel and company,” Clockwork greets, fading into view, looking older than usual.
Danny throws his hands up in a WTF way at the ghost.
“Welcome to the Tower of Babel, please, enjoy your visit,” they offer an enigmatic smile before disappearing into the mists.
The class erupts into confusion and panic.
“Now, now,” Mr. Lancer declares loudly, “let’s all calm down.”
“Calm down?” Kwan cries in dismay, “we’ve been kidnapped by a ghost!”
Dash pushes through the crowd to grab Danny by his shirt front, “this is your fault, get us home!”
“Enough!” Mr. Lancer shouts, making his way to the boys to separate them. “There is no blaming anyone! We are going to calmly evaluate the situation-”
“That creepy ghost knew Danny,” Star says, “how else would we end up here if they didn’t know him?”
“Hey, sorry, can we get back to the fact that we’re at the Tower of Babel?” Sam asks, stepping forward. “You know, the ancient city where all of humanity was once unified in language and culture?”
Mr. Lancer frowns, “that would be relevant if it were true, but I would hardly believe the words of an apparition.”
Sam looks to Danny, gesturing towards the building.
Danny makes a face at her before turning to Tucker.
Tucker shakes his head, holding his hands up to make an X with them and takes a small step backwards.
Danny looks back at Sam and holds his palms up.
Sam gestures at the tower again.
“My prophetic bladder says it is the Tower of Babel,” he says.
Mr. Lancer gapes at him.
“Would you prefer if it was the Hanging Garden of Babylon?” Danny asks.
“I would prefer if we were at the Natural History Museum,” Mr. Lancer says.
“Hey guys!” Mikey calls from the top of the steps near the arching doorway. “They have a tour guide ready for us!”
Danny exchanges a glance with Tucker before jogging across the distance.
“Wait!” Mr. Lancer calls after him, “you need to stay with the group!”
“Oh, Sinilis!” Danny greets, spotting the green ghost, “I thought you were at the Library?”
“Hello, sir,” the scholarly ghost bows his head in greeting, “I have been assigned to guide you and your companions today.”
“You know him?” Mikey asks, pushing his glasses up his nose.
“Uh…” Danny blanches, he glances back at the class who have moved closer. “Sorta.”
“You know its name.”
“His name,” Sam says. “He’s not an it.”
“How do you know him, then?”
“He has a name tag,” Danny says.
Sinilis taps his chest under the pin that spells out his name and preferred pronouns in Hittite.
“That’s not even- holy shit I can read that!” Mikey exclaims. “How can I read that?”
“That would be the power of Bāb-ilim, wherein the separation of cultures have been erased,” Sinilis explains. “Will the rest of your group be joining us then?”
“I think it would be more informative than the museum,” Sam says.
“Will you please stop running off on your own, we need to stay together,” Mr. Lancer says, making his way up the steps. The rest of the class hovers at the bottom. “Oh wonderful, another ghost.”
“Hello sir,” Sinilis bows his head in greeting, “my name is Sinilis, a scholar of the Great Library of Alexandria and have been assigned to be your guide through the City of Bāb-ilim today.”
“That’s great, but we really should be on our way-” he freezes, the previous statement finally processing. “The what library?”
“The Great Library of Alexandria,” Sinilis repeats. “If I recall, that will be your next group trip should today’s tour prove successful.”
Mr. Lancer falters. Dash, who had snuck up behind them, catches him from falling as his foot slips on the step.
“Whoa!”
Danny jumps forward, grabbing Mr. Lancer’s arm to pull him back onto the landing.
“Are you alright, sir?” Sinilis asks, hovering slightly, hands outstretched to help but not touching. “I do apologize for whatever fright I have caused.”
“No no,” Mr. Lancer shakes his head, stepping carefully away from the steps. “You just- run that by me again?”
Sinilis floats back to stand where he previously stood in the entranceway. He pulls out a scroll from the sleeve of his robe. Unfurling it, he reads it aloud.
“For the continued education of the Heir Apparent and entourage candidates, tours of cultural and historical significance have been scheduled at the following locations: the City of Bāb-ilim, also referred to as the Tower of Babel, the Great Library of Alexandria, the City of Pompeii, the City of Mycenae, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Zapotes-”
“The city of the Olmecs?” Mr. Lancer interrupts. “And several other ancient wonders? They exist?”
“They actually refer to themselves as Tamoanchan,” Sinilis clarifies. “But yes, they do exist here, as anything that once was and subsequently ceased to exist in the Lands of Life will be reborn here in the Infinite Realms.”
“I think I need to sit down,” Mr. Lancer says, rubbing his temples.
At this point, most of the class has moved closer to the top of the steps.
“I would offer you a drink, but all I have is pomegranate juice,” Sinilis offers.
“That wouldn’t be very helpful,” Sam says. Tucker barks a laugh, turning to cover his face.
“Does that mean we’re going to tour the tower?” Mikey asks.
“I want to know what that heir apparent means,” Paulina asks. “Who is it?”
Sinilis very pointedly does not look at the trio.
“I’m with Paulina,” Valerie says, crossing her arms. “We got kidnapped by ghosts for some supposed ghost heir and named us the entourage? I think we deserve to know.”
“I think it’s Danny,” Mikey says.
“What could Fentonail-”
“Mr. Baxter.” Mr. Lancer chides.
“-do to be this ghost whatever?”
“Well, he was named by the first ghost and he knows who this ghost was before an introduction.”
“So?” Sam asks. “I think we should just accept the absolutely impossible chance of getting guided tours through ancient myths. Do you not realize the actual historical impact that is right there?”
“I mean, Clockwork did say it would just be a visit, which means we would be returned home without a problem,” Tucker offers.
“Who’s Clockwork?” Dash asks at the same time that Valerie demands “Why do you know its name?”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Mr. Lancer holds his hands out to quiet down the class. “Mister uh…”
“Sinilis,” the ghost offers with a tight smile.
“Sinilis,” he continues, with a small nod of thanks, “what is the process for us to return home?
“Why, there’s a portal for your return being prepared on the other side of the city,” the ghost gestures towards the arch.
“But-!” Valerie protests.
“And can you ensure that the class will be safe and unharmed during this tour?”
“Certainly, sir! I swear it upon my core that no harm shall befall the class.”
“I don’t trust you, and I refuse to enter that ghost infested-”
“Stop being rude,” Sam interrupts her. She turns to Sinilis, “is there a way for anyone who doesn’t want to participate to go home now?”
He glances at Danny but doesn’t answer.
“So we’re trapped here?” Valerie says, aghast.
Tucker nudges Danny with his elbow who rolls his eyes back.
“Val,” Danny steps towards her, hands up in a placating manner. “Look we’re here so we might as well do what they ask. When in Rome and all that-”
“But they’re ghosts!” She practically shouts, “you can’t ever-”
“You trust Dani.”
She freezes.
“But she’s-”
“Half, I know, but do you really think that the other half is as bad?”
She doesn’t answer.
Danny takes her hands, “besides, have you ever met a violent librarian?”
She huffs a laugh out of surprise, “no, but there’s a first time for everything.”
“If I may,” Sinilis floats closer, “the sooner we begin the tour, the sooner all of you may return home.”
“Fine, no funny business.”
“Of course,” he bows his head and floats back, glancing at Danny before turning to Mr. Lancer. “Are we all set then?”
Mr. Lancer looks over his class before taking a deep breath. “Well, this will certainly be far more informative than a museum trip.”

if u enjoyed pls like & reblog, feedback is always appreciated!!
“would you just shut up” jake groaned out, glancing over at jay once more. ever since jay admitted he had a crush on you, his best friend, he’s been insufferable according to his friends. jay furrowed his brows, “what! i’m not even talking about her” he groaned out, making sunghoon scoff in amusement. “you mentioned that place that you want to take her to, like five times.” he sighed out, picking at his lunch in front of him.
the history between you and jay wasn’t exactly.. ideal. the two of you had been friends since you were 12 years old and encountered many things together such as the time your braces got caught on a loose thread in jays shirt, or the time jay fell off his bike because he wanted to prove to you he could do a wheelie. all in all you two had stuck with each other through everything, including your relationships.
jay never admitted it but he had developed a crush on you towards the beginning of college, that stupid saying that people really change in college or something was deemed to be true. he started getting annoyed by the encounters you would tell him about, wondering why you let stupid boys treat you like that when he was right in front of you. he thought he wasn’t obvious about it but when he finally told jake and sunghoon about having a crush on you, the two of them acted like it was a normal tuesday.
“okay i did not say it five times” jay rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair and jake and sunghoon gave each other a look, both of them sighing. “yeah man whatever” jake mumbled, making jay roll his eyes once more. he looked around the dining hall and his eyes landed on you, sitting with your two friends telling them something dramatically. you were talking with your hands again, which made jay smile. he loved when you did that it was so cute. if only he knew what you were talking about so passionately..
“honestly my theory is that he’s as equally obsessed with you as you are him” karina shrugged, popping one of winters fries in her mouth, making her slap her hand away. “that’s not possible” you sighed out, leaning back in your chair now. “yeah well..” as karina spoke, you looked in his direction, thoughts clouding your mind. you always had a small thing for jay ever since you were little but it was embarrassing to admit. those feelings halted when jay started getting in relationships which made you get into relationships to get his attention, but it never worked.
now here you were, in your second year of college still pining for the boy you wanted when you were 13. “yn? are you paying attention.” karina waved her hand in front of your face, snapping you out of it. winter looked towards jay then you and laughed slightly. “she was too busy making oogly eyes at him” she said, making you slap her hand. karina groaned out. “it was not oogly eyes!” you retorted, rolling your eyes at winter.
“there’s actually no hope for the two of you” winter sighed out as you three got up, going to put your plates away. “he doesn’t like me back, i’ll get over it” you sighed out, placing your place in the box and following karina and winter. “you’ve been saying that for years but okay yn” karina shook her head, laughing softly. as the three of you walked out of the dining hall you saw jake, jay, and sunghoon standing there.
of course jake started up a conversation, now the six of you were walking as a group with you and jay lagging behind. it was quiet between you and jay, only the crunching of the leaves could be heard. jay glanced at you, smiling softly at the way you stepped over the leaves so you could hear the crunch of them. you had always loved doing that even when you were younger.
it hits jay now that he knows you, more than you may know yourself. because of him knowing you so well, that's why he fell for you in the first place. you were like a breath of fresh air to him, you always knew how to talk to him and make him smile, you also knew him inside and out and jay knew this.
but you were almost too good for him, after all you were a goddess in jays eyes and he was just a fool. what could he do? he knew confessing to you was a gamble because it could change the entire trajectory of your relationship, for the better or the worse. jay snapped out of his thoughts and cleared his throat.
“so.. what were you guys talking about? you kept moving your hands around dramatically” jay laughed a little as he finished the sentence, you rolled your eyes and elbowed him playfully. “none of your business” you mumbled back, making jay smile.
he looked to you and smiled at your softly flushed cheeks, the way your nose was pink because of the fall breeze. “you wanna go to the diner tonight?” you looked to him, smile clear on your face. “i thought you were busy tonight?” he thought about it for a second then shook his head. “not anymore” he smiled softly. “okay, i’ll ask winter and rina.” you said and jay furrowed his brows. he hesitated before speaking. “no like, just us” he said, sounding a little uncertain.
now was the moment, jay thought. the moment he had been waiting for, for ten years now. he knew you wouldn't want a really fancy date, so instead he opted for something a bit more you, something you were comfortable with. after all, everything he did was for you, and only you. so here it goes.
“no like, just us” he said, sounding a little uncertain.
you fully stopped walking causing jay to stop walking as well, forgetting about the group in front of you. “are you asking me out on a date park jongseong?” you furrowed your brows, looking in his eyes for an answer. there was no way he felt the same. “i.. uh you know if you want it to be?” he stuttered out, shoving his hands in his pockets. you smiled at his nervousness, the way he tried to act all cool about. “okay, are you paying? because you know a real gentleman pays.” you said playfully, the two of you resuming walking again.
“is that even a question? of course yn” he sighed out, a little less nervous now. “well then yes, i’d love to go out with you jay” you smiled, looking at him. he smiled as well, the blush on his cheeks evident. “c'mon lovebirds! let’s go!” jake called out, his voice a little far in the distance. you giggled softly, making jay softly elbow you. karina’s theory was more than right.

august 13th, 6:57pm, Coopersburg, PA.
the babble of the creek beneath you, the squeaking of the tire swing, and the birds chirping created a melody, sweeter than any song billie had written before. and mixed with the sound of your sweet giggles, billie was sure she was in heaven.
the sun was starting to drift under the horizon giving the sky a gorgeous coral hue, mixed with a hint of violet and navy, but not too dark yet. the air was warm, like a fluffy blanket straight out of the dryer.
“billie!! you’re going too high!! i’m too scared to jump!!” you squealed, giggling furiously. your braids billie had done for you earlier flew behind you as billie pushed the swing again, sending you higher, making you feel like you were flying amongst the trees.
billie grabbed the rope, slowing down the swing so she could be level with you again. you looked over at her before grabbing her arm and pulling her closer, before sealing the gap between you with a kiss. billie wrapped her arms around your waist, melting into your arms, only pulling away when you both smiled into the kiss. you tasted like the sweet tea you had been drinking, your mason jar now sat forgotten on a rock nearby.
“hi mama,” she whispered onto her lips, making you blush furiously and scrunch your nose. she pecked your nose before maneuvering you on the swing so she could sit too, pulling you onto her lap. one arm draped around your waist and the other holding the swings rope.
“baby can i talk to you about something?” billie started, a nervous edge to her voice. you turned your head, a curious yet concerned look in your eye, nodding for her to continue.
“how umm… how are your parents lately?” she held her breath waiting for you to answer.
your parents. how you loved them dearly.. until they stopped loving you. they said they still did, but their words and actions and beliefs said differently.
a few years back you had innocently asked your mom about how she knew she liked boys. your mom just looked at you funny, saying that every girl likes boys… there’s no question about it. that’s how god made girls. girls grow up and fall in love with boys, and become wives, and mothers, and that’s how it goes.
sensing her edge you backed off, retreating to your room that night feeling more confused than ever. if you weren’t supposed to like girls… then why did you feel this way?? why did your heart beat faster around them, and why do your hands get so sweaty near them, and why do you get nauseous thinking about being a man’s wife one day, but melt into a puddle thinking about being a woman’s wife one day….
falling in love with a woman, sleeping next to a woman, holding her, touching her, kissing her, making love to her…. walking down the aisle to her, holding her hand while bringing your babies into the world with her, raising those children with her, growing old with her…
as you got older it became harder to hide. it was obvious to anyone with eyes. especially after you met billie. i mean who wouldn’t fall in love with her?
you’re parents found out about you and billie when they caught you kissing one night out back. you had told them that you two were gonna go look at stars, and planets, and you did… just the ones in her eyes instead of the sky.
because they “still had love for you,” they sent billie home and had a long talk with you about your choices. and though you don’t try to recall them, you’ll never forget the things your parents said to you that night. you hid in your room and called billie panicking. you didn’t want to love anyone else, you couldn’t…
so you and billie continued dating in secret. only meeting up in secret locations and having perfect alibis if your parents caught on. while you still lived at home, and luckily your parents didn’t suspect a thing, you cried every night. you wanted so badly to escape, to be free from them. to be free…
“umm.. they’re good i guess. getting older sooo you know. they’re getting weird with me growing up and all that i guess. i’m looking forwards to moving out one day though.” billie nodded and gave your waist a squeeze before setting her chin on your shoulder.
you let out a watery laugh, “my mom keeps trying to set me up with all the church guys. even if i wasn’t gay they’re sooo just not cute.” billie raised her eyebrows and laughed with you.
“really? and what do you find cute missy?” billie teased. you played this game a lot. one of you would describe what you wanted in a girlfriend… and it was just you describing the other.
“wellllllll, i love a girl who’s kind and funny, and she would have these big blue eyes, like little sea crystals, and dark hair that compliments her skin so perfectly. and the cutest little button nose you could ever imagine, and it’s decorated with teensy little freckles. and she would have pink pillowy lips that are impossible not to kiss. ooh and if she could have little dimples that would be a great bonus. WAIT omg and she would sing.” you finished with a smile that said “ta da!!” billie smiled back, cheeks flushed before kissing your own cheek.
“mmm i love you to the moon billie eilish pirate baird o’connell,” you sighed, leaning back into her.
“and i love you to saturn y/f/n y/m/n o’connell,” she murmured back, nose grazing your jaw. you sat back up in shock, turning to face her with the biggest smile on your face. you were totally speechless though, trying to get out a thought.
“y/n?”
“yes?”
“i think you should come live with me… and we could be pirates,” she added playfully.
“then you won’t have to cry… or hide in the closet,” she said softly. your smile faltered a bit, not in disappointment but in shock. you knew billie’s family loved you, and you were old enough to be on your own.
“really?” you whispered. billie nodded with a small smile.
“run away with me lovey. pack your jellycats and a sweater. we’ll move you away from there forever.”
you practically pounced onto her, kissing her so fiercely.
“we can’t tell anyone. other than your family of course.”
“cross my heart, won’t tell no other.” billie promised, crossing over her heart with her finger.
your love would last so long…
years later…
august 22nd, 6:48 pm, Los Angeles, CA
you and billie were laid out among the weeds in the grass, billie sat with her hands behind her, while your back was to her front, sitting in between her legs.
“you know, i still remember hiding in that field back in PA. i can still picture you in the trees… high in the sky on that old swing.”
you hummed a small laugh, closing your eyes at the memory. your little hiding spot all those years ago. you now both lay in a similar spot, near your home in LA. after living with Billie’s family for a few years, the two of you moved out together to your own place.
“mama!!” you opened your eyes at the little voice.
“mama look!! im a pirate!!” your little baby boy, not so little anymore, had one of billie bandanas tied on his head and a stick in his hand as his sword. he showed off his best pirate poses making you and billie giggle.
“buddy you are the best pirate out there!!” billie said to him, fixing the much too big bandana on his little head.
“do you think sissy will wanna be a pirate?” he asked, tilting his head to the side.
your hand went to your baby bump where “sissy” resided.
“you know buddy, i’m not sure yet. but i’m sure she would love to,” you said, softly caressing his little face. he smiled before running back to his spot, continuing his pirate adventure.
as the two of you watched your little boy play around, billie leaned down to press kisses to your cheek, your eyes closing in total bliss, and she brought her own hand to your growing bump.
“i love you to the moon mrs. o’connell,” she whispered into your ear. the name still making you blush after all this time.
“and i love you to saturn.”
your love would last so long…

Ive seen things where people have kids who are dark haired and eyed at birth and turn light haired and eyes when they get older or vice versa.
I headcanon Janet with blonde hair and green eyes and Jack with black hair blue eyes.
Im using this on Tim.
Tim was born with blonde hair green eyes and looked like Jack as a baby, but when he got older, around 4ish, he turned black haired and blue eyed and started looking like Janet.
His parents were both in a love hate relationship with this change. On one hand they want him to have their colors and look like them...
On the other hand they miss when he used to look like the other parent.
Just imagine:
Tim going through old pictures in his gazillion boxes of pictures, the family is helping him.
"Who's this baby? Steph's?"
Someone asks. They look over to see Duke holding a photo of a blonde baby, smiling a gummy smile with curly blonde hair and green emerald eyes looking brighter than a kryptonian in the sun.
"No.. That's.. who is that baby?"
Steph asked very slowly. Guess they forgot to tell Duke that Steph's daughter was a sensitive topic amongst them.
"Steph gave up her daughter at birth, Duke. And it was a traumatic experience for her so we don't talk about it."
Bruce informed.
"O-Oh! I'm sorry."
"It's okay, you didn't know"
She waved him off with a smile, but everyone still wondered who the baby was.
"Tim?"
"Yeah?"
Tim replied from inside his closet. He walked out upon no reply, setting down another box filled with camera equipment and saw all their confused faces.
"Who's baby is this?"
Duke turned the picture and Tim looked at it closer.
"Oh!"
Tim smiled, taking it and putting it next to his face.
"It's me!"
He smiled just as bright as the baby, which happened to be him, in the picture.
.
.
.
"WHAT!?"
The family, including Alfred, stared jaw dropped shocked at the guy.
The baby in the photo, smiling oh so brightly like the sun, green eyed, blonde curly hair, with the cutest little red polka dot dress on, was Tim, who had straight-ish black hair and blue eyes, didn't smile as brightly as the moon, who only gave smirks and grins, and was wearing a long sleeves under a Limp Bizkit t shirt with very baggy jeans.
"Yeah.. Genetics! Ya know..?"
"Explain."
Jason demanded.
"Well, up until I was 4-ish I had my dad's face but my mom's green eyes and blonde curly hair, but then it turned black and my eyes turned blue and straight-ish and I started looking more like my mom."
He rubbed his neck sheepishly.
That started the searching of Tim's baby photos. They'd organize the Bat photos and the hero photos later, right now they needed to find all of the blonde hair green eyed baby Tim photos.
It was no secret that Tim was trans, so when all the photos of a little girl in dresses and skirts showed up they weren't phased. It was hilarious to see all the pouty faced pictured of Tim in dresses.
The photos did get put up around the house with Tim's (begrudgingly(willingly)) permission.
Dick wanted him to bleach his hair but he refuses to damage his hair.
But also imagine this:
The older that Tim gets, the blonde comes back. He still looks like his mom, but his slowly starts turning blonde again, and his eyes start having a greener tint/hue to it.
The first to notice was Bart.
Bart was braiding Tim's rather ling hair when he points it out.
"Hey Tim, your hair's got some blonde in it!"
"What?"
Tim runs to the mirror and looks in it. Yep. Sure enough his hair was growing some blonde strands. And now that he looked, his eyes looked more green than it's normal blue.
"Oh my gosh.."
He calls Bruce.
Bruce who was in a JL meeting.
"I'm in a meeting."
"B! Im going blonde again! Ans my eyes! They're turning green!"
Tim says, somewhat panicked, somewhat excited.
Bruce blanks. Because.. what. What do you mean his baby boy, who he loved staring at the blonde and green eyed baby pictures of, was resorting back to that color.
"...really?"
He asks very hesitantly at first.
"Yeah!"
Tim turns his head down, showing his scalp. And there, right there, were several prominent, yet blended, strands of blonde growing in a curl pattern amongst the straight black locks.
Bruce just about cries right then and there.
Because then Tim does a close up of his eyes. And yep. His eyes have a but of green in them.
"That's great, sweetie. But I'm in a meeting right now."
"Oh! Sorry!"
He hangs up.
Bruce doesn't.
He's still stuck on the call smiling like a sappy parent whose kid just did something so small yet so touching. There were tears in his eyes and none of the JL knew what to do.

STRICTLY PROFESSIONAL ⌇ 패션
pairing ᝰ — jake x fem!reader featuring.. heeseung, jay, sunoo | word count: 8800+
⌇ … warnings & genre ↺ Rich/celebrity au!, suggestive content, arrogant reader and jake, make out scene, cussing, fluff, smidge of angst, lots of bickering, heeseung is a asshole, reader is a fashion designer, use of petnames.
synopsis — everyone knew who you were. young, successful, talented and most notorious man eater. you enjoyed the games you played with men but it got complicated quickly when you played it with jake. fashion scenes golden boy.
lee's ₊˚⊹ ᰔ comment ┊oh my god this took so long to write, anyways I hope you guys like it fr! Idk if I like it yet but the bathtub scene 👅👅 good lord. Ima fully check this tmr so sorry for any grammar mistakes!
The night was still young, the air thick with the hum of conversation and the distant clink of champagne glasses. You moved through the grand hall like you belonged there—because you did. Every glance that followed you, every murmured whisper in your wake, only served to remind you of the power you held.
Any other woman might claim to hate these kinds of events, the forced pleasantries, the exhausting game of charm and deception. But you? You thrived in it. You loved the way the room seemed to orbit around you, the way men tripped over themselves just for a second of your attention.
And yet, there was one thing you couldn’t stand. The desperate ones. The men who thought a well-tailored suit and a glass of overpriced bourbon made them worthy of you. As one of them slid a hand around your waist, his touch sensual and unwelcome, you scoffed, effortlessly slipping from his grasp without a second thought.
They never learned.
This was your reputation—the untouchable, the unattainable, the woman they all wanted but none could ever truly have.
But amid the usual sea of admirers, there was one man who didn’t make a move. He didn’t approach, didn’t try his luck. He simply watched, his gaze lingering just a moment too long. You barely gave him a second thought. Another coward, too afraid to step up.
Or so you thought.
“Having fun?” Heeseung asked, swirling the whiskey in his glass before taking a slow sip.
Jake hummed, his eyes still locked on you. “You could say that.”
Heeseung followed his gaze, his lips quirking up the moment he realized who had captured his friend’s attention. Then, he burst out laughing.
Jake raised a brow. “What’s so funny?”
Heeseung shook his head, still amused. “Her? No way. I’d switch targets now if I were you.”
Jake’s curiosity piqued. “Why? She got a man or something?”
“The opposite, actually.” Heeseung smirked, setting his drink down. “She’s a man-eater. Every guy in this room has wanted a piece of her at some point.”
Jake laughed, leaning back in his chair. “What, you trying to scare me off ‘cause you want her?”
Heeseung grinned. “More like trying to save you from embarrassment, man. She even rejected me, and that says something.”
Jake scoffed. “Egotistical bastard. Anyway, she doesn’t even know me. Why don’t I give it a shot?”
Heeseung let out a short chuckle and glanced at the others. With a simple nod, three more men joined the conversation—Sunghoon, Jay, and Sunoo.
“What’s up?” Sunoo asked, adjusting his collar.
Heeseung gestured toward you with his glass. “Jake has eyes on Y/N.”
Jay nearly choked on his drink. “Oh, hell no. Yeah, good luck, man.”
Jake scoffed. “You guys act like I’m not charming and rich.”
Sunghoon smirked. “Listen, if none of us even got as much as a kiss from that woman, you definitely can’t.”
Jake rolled his eyes. “So, you all think I can’t pull? Alright, then. Watch me.” He pushed back his chair and stood up, adjusting his cuffs before striding toward you with confidence.
The group watched in amused silence.
“Anyone busy tonight?” Heeseung asked after a beat.
“No,” they all replied in unison.
“Good,” Heeseung said, taking another sip of his drink. “Because that man is going to come back crying.”
As Jake strode toward you, you noticed him instantly—without even needing to spare him a glance. Finally. The man who had been eyeing you all night had mustered up the nerve to approach. Not that it would make any difference. You can just tell you wont be interested.
It’s just a game to you.
Clearing his throat, he smoothly excused himself into your conversation. The men surrounding you shot him warning glances, but he ignored them, his attention solely on you.
You didn’t even hesitate. With a polite smile, you excused yourself from them and turned to face Jake fully, flashing him the kind of grin that had men falling to their knees.
Too easy.
Jake took that as a good sign. See? She’s already giving such a pretty smile. How hard could this be?
“I’ve been meaning to introduce myself,” he began smoothly, holding out a hand, ready to bring yours to his lips. “My name is Sim Jaeyun, but the people I like to keep close—like you—call me Jake.”
You didn’t give him your hand.
Instead, you tilted your head slightly, amusement flickering in your eyes. “Delighted to meet you, Mr. Sim.”
Jake barely managed to mask his surprise as he quickly withdrew his hand. So, the gentleman act wasn’t going to cut it. Fine. He could adapt.
“You’re the most gorgeous woman here tonight,” he charmed, his voice dripping with confidence. “Where’s that dress from? It works wonders on you.”
You didn’t miss a beat. “I’ve been told,” you said airily, before letting the real dagger sink in. “And this dress? It’s from me.”
Jake blinked. “From you?”
You smirked. “Yes. I made it.”
It took him a second, but then it clicked. Shit.
Realization dawned in his eyes. He knew now exactly who you were.
You leaned in slightly, your voice silky smooth. “Tell me, Mr. Sim… do you always fail to research the women you approach or did you just underestimate me?”
Jake swallowed. “I—uhm—”
Before he could recover, your hands were on him. A slow, deliberate caress up his shoulder, your fingers threading behind his neck. He stiffened, caught between the intoxicating warmth of your touch and the sharp edge in your voice.
“See, it’s men like you I hate the most…” you murmured, voice soft but laced with venom.
You pulled back just enough to meet his gaze, your lips curling in amusement.
“Uneducated.”
And just like that, you turned on your heel.
Jake stood frozen for a moment, trying to process how the conversation had flipped so fast.
Then, from across the room—laughter.
He turned just in time to see Heeseung and the others, barely containing their amusement.
Yeah. No. This wasn’t over.
Jake straightened his shoulders, running a hand through his hair.
If you thought that was the last time you’d be seeing him tonight… you had another thing coming.
After realizing who you were, he knew he needed a lot more than just a prince act to get to you.
Y/N, the youngest successful fashion designer in the country. Your creative silk dresses and outlandish designs shot you straight to the top, allowing you to build your own designer store and amass a massive fortune.
He regretted not researching you beforehand, but to be fair, you didn’t really advertise yourself—just your million-dollar merchandise.
But his greatest mistake was also his biggest opportunity. Jake and his friends just so happened to be ambassadors for your company, and from the looks of it, fashion was the only way to get to you.
As their car pulled up to the photoshoot, Jake grew more nervous. He had already landed himself in the deep end with you, and he had only a vague idea of how to get out. But you? You were a total wildcard.
Jake huffed as he stepped out of the car.
“What’s your problem?” Heeseung asked, walking beside him.
Sunoo smirked, approaching as well. “He’s still trying to woo Y/N.”
Heeseung laughed. “No way! After that shitshow last night? You’re either ballsy or crazy.”
Jake shook his head. “Whatever, I’ll figure it out.”
As they walked in, the photoshoot was already set up. Props were on display, cameras were being tested, and the staff bustled around. Jake scanned the room for you, but you hadn’t arrived yet.
Sunoo clapped his hands as he admired the lavish outfits they’d be wearing. Jake had to admit—you were talented.
The sudden bang of doors flying open caught everyone’s attention.
You walked in, dressed in comfortable yet stylish clothes that hugged you in all the right places. Jake could finally see what everyone had been talking about. You knew how to get eyes on you.
“Cameras, props, and lights ready?” you called out, hands on your waist.
The staff confirmed, and you turned to face the group. One by one, you examined each member calling them out with their valuable features—Sunoo’s alluring figure, Jay’s strong jawline, Sunghoon’s thick eyebrows, Heeseung’s plump lips… and then you paused when you got to Jake.
“Mr. Sim, I didn’t expect to see you here,” you said, grinning as you looked him up and down.
Jake let out a short laugh. “Didn’t know I was one of the ambassadors? I’m hurt.”
You hummed, circling him, trying to pinpoint a striking physical feature that could be useful. But for the first time, nothing came to mind.
“Anyway, let’s continue. Sunoo is first,” you said, brushing past him.
Jake scoffed slightly. It was a small thing, really. But for some reason, the fact that you didn’t highlight anything about him bothered him more than it should have.
He watched as you guided Sunoo through your envisioned concept, your passion evident in every direction you gave. Sunoo followed your cues effortlessly, showcasing the designs exactly as you intended.
One by one, each member had their turn, and every shot looked incredible—each outfit tailored perfectly to their features.
Then, it was Jake’s turn.
You stood in front of the wardrobe, flipping through the options. To be honest, it was frustrating. You had instantly known what worked for everyone else, but for Jake… you were stumped.
You turned around, squinting at him, taking him in. He sat there watching you, his throat going dry as you slowly walked closer.
Then, without warning, you reached out and tilted his chin up.
Jake stiffened.
You studied him, and suddenly, it clicked.
His big, expressive puppy eyes. His soft, round lips. The way he looked almost desperate and vulnerable.
…He looked so good like this.
You laughed to yourself, turning to the wardrobe and pulling out a sleek black suit.
You knew exactly how to take advantage of Sim Jaeyun.
You bitterly laughed as you scrolled through the articles. Of course, you had an eye for things like this.
The internet was in an uproar over Jake’s part of the photoshoot—but in a good way.
The concept was striking. The camera was angled just above him, catching the sharp contrast of light against his desperate, pleading eyes. His lips were slightly parted, pouty in a way that almost begged to be kissed. His shirt hung open just enough to tease, showing only a sliver of skin, while the veins along his arms stood out, practically begging for attention.
You coughed, shaking the thoughts from your head.
Shoving the distraction aside, you sat at your desk, fingers gripping your pencil as you stared at the blank sketchpad before you. Normally, this was the easy part—designs came to you like second nature. But today? Nothing.
Your eyes wandered the room, searching for something—anything—to spark creativity. And then they landed on the stack of freshly printed photos from Jake’s shoot.
It was like a lightbulb flicked on above your head. Thoughts started forming and it was like the cogs in your brain started turning.
You needed a meeting with him. Now.
It took some effort to track him down, but after a few well-placed calls, you discovered he was at a celebration party for one of his many sponsors. A big shot, was he? You scoffed, feeling a twinge of irritation crawl under your skin. No—why did he irritate you so much?
Your sleek, high-end car pulled up to the entrance, drawing the attention of reporters and guests alike. Ignoring their murmurs, you strode inside, brushing past the glittering crowd. The party was far livelier than the ones you typically attended, but you paid it no mind. Your focus was solely on one person.
Jake.
He was easy to spot, standing in the center of the room with a glass in his hand and a woman draped over his arm. She was laughing at something he said, tilting her head flirtatiously.
You scoffed, rolling your eyes before marching toward him.
At first, he didn’t notice, too caught up in whatever meaningless conversation he was entertaining. But then he picked up on the shift in the room—the way heads turned, whispers spreading like wildfire. His gaze finally landed on you, surprise flickering across his face.
What the hell were you doing here?
“Hello, Sim,” you greeted, your voice laced with amusement. “Having fun?”
Jake blinked, momentarily thrown off. The woman at his side tightened her grip, glaring at you as if trying to stake her claim.
You gave her a quick once-over before arching a brow. “Please. If you’re going to try and mark your territory, at least put some effort into that outfit of yours.”
She gasped, her face burning red before she spun on her heel and stormed off.
Jake smirked as he watched her leave, then turned his attention back to you. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were jealous.”
“In your dreams,” you shot back. “I need you to come with me. It’s urgent.”
His brows lifted, a slow grin curling his lips as he leaned in slightly, his voice dipping into something lower, teasing. “Need me that bad, huh baby?”
Your face flamed, and you immediately shoved his shoulder. “That’s not what I meant—ugh! I’m requesting a conversation. Over dinner.”
Jake tilted his head, studying you. He wasn’t sure what this was about, but the fact that you were suddenly giving him attention? Maybe it was for the big success with his contribution to the magazine. Whatever it was, He wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity.
“Alright,” he drawled. “Taking me out to eat before the fun stuff—how classy.”
You rolled your eyes and grabbed his wrist, pulling him toward the exit. He let you, a smirk never leaving his face as he trailed behind you.
The ride to the restaurant was quiet. You stared out the window, lost in thought, while Jake stole subtle glances at you. You were always like this—so effortlessly captivating, playing hard to get like it was second nature. He didn’t mind. The chase made it all the more fun.
When the car finally rolled to a stop, Jake glanced out the window, his brows raising slightly. The restaurant was high-end, even by his standards. You didn’t just pick a fancy place—you picked the fancy place.
“You really like showing off, don’t you?” he mused, stepping out after you.
The moment you entered, the security barely even glanced at you before letting you through. Jake, on the other hand, was stopped immediately.
You turned back, giving him a slow smirk.
“He’s with me,” you said simply.
That was all it took. The guard stepped aside without another word, and Jake scoffed, shaking his head as he followed you in.
You were led to a private, reserved area on the rooftop, where the city stretched out in a breathtaking view. The soft glow of lights flickered over your face, casting delicate shadows. Jake had to admit—you looked stunning.
After placing your orders, silence settled between you. Jake swirled his wine glass, watching you over the rim.
“So,” he finally said, breaking the quiet, “why do I have the honor of your presence tonight, Y/N?”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, Sim.” You exhaled, looking away for a moment before leaning back. “Do you know how I built my brand?”
Jake raised a brow. “Hard work I would presume?”
You let out a quiet laugh. “A muse,” you corrected. “Every artist needs one. And mine… has grown dull.”
He frowned slightly, trying to decipher where this was going. “And?”
Your gaze locked onto his, unwavering. “Lucky for you, I seem to find creative inspiration just by looking at you.”
The words hung in the air, thick with meaning. Jake stared at you, and for once, he didn’t have a teasing remark locked and loaded.
Because you weren’t joking.
You had come all this way, pulled him out of a party, taken him to an extravagant dinner— not for some business deal, but because you needed him.
Jake leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table as a slow, knowing grin spread across his face.
“Well, well,” he murmured. “Didn’t know I had that effect on you.”
You sighed, already regretting saying anything. “It’s strictly professional, Sim.”
“Sure it is.”
His eyes gleamed with mischief, but there was something else there too—something unreadable. He tilted his head slightly, studying you the way you had been studying him all night.
Finally, he set his glass down and smirked. “Alright, Y/N. I’ll be your muse.”
You arched a brow. “Just like that?”
“Just like that.” His voice dropped into something quieter, more serious. “But don’t think for a second that this is a one-sided deal.”
Your eyes narrowed. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Jake leaned in ever so slightly, his smirk never wavering.
“You need inspiration,” he said. “And I need you.”
Your breath hitched.
Jake leaned back in his seat, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips as he swirled the wine in his glass. His eyes never left yours, watching your reaction with amusement.
“Go on one date with me,” he said smoothly, tilting his head slightly. “And I’m all yours.”
You stared at him, blinking once. Then twice.
And then, you burst into laughter. A real, full laugh that made your shoulders shake as you leaned back in your chair.
Jake didn’t say anything—he just sat there, watching you with an unreadable expression. Not smug. Not teasing. Just… watching.
When your laughter finally died down, you exhaled and shook your head. “You’re ridiculous.”
Jake simply raised a brow.
“So, you’re serious?” you asked, searching his face for any sign of a joke. “Just one date? No money? No sexual favors?”
His lips curled into a small, knowing smile. “Yep. One night. Let me have you on my arm for a few hours, and after that…” He shrugged. “I’m all yours.”
You grumbled at the thought. The idea of entertaining a man—even for one night for something as useless as a date—made you want to roll your eyes into another dimension. But you really, really needed Jake. His presence alone had sparked something in you. God, you hated when a man had the upper hand.
You sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Fine. One date. That’s all.” You narrowed your eyes. “And then you’re mine.”
Jake chuckled, resting his chin in his palm as he gazed at you, a lazy sort of amusement flickering in his eyes.
“Yes,” he murmured. “All yours.”
And for some reason, the way he said it made your stomach flip.
The deal was set. One date. That was all.
You repeated that to yourself as you adjusted your outfit, smoothing out non-existent wrinkles while glancing at your reflection in the mirror. It wasn’t like you cared how you looked for Jake Sim. It was just… appearances. You had a reputation to maintain.
At least, that’s what you told yourself.
A knock on your door interrupted your thoughts. Your assistant peeked in, looking a little too amused.
“He’s here,” they said.
With one last deep breath, you grabbed your clutch and headed out.
Jake was waiting outside, leaning casually against his car—a sleek black luxury vehicle that, of course, fit his whole charming celebrity persona perfectly. He looked effortless in his suit, his hair styled just the right amount of messy, like he’d barely tried but still somehow managed to look good.
The worst part? He probably hadn’t tried.
His gaze flickered over you, and his smirk grew. “Well, damn,” he murmured, pushing off the car. “If I knew you were gonna look this good, I would’ve asked for two dates.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the heat creeping up your neck. “Not happening.”
He chuckled, opening the passenger door for you. “We’ll see.”
You slid in without another word, and the moment he settled into the driver’s seat, the engine purred to life.
“So,” you said, crossing your arms. “Where exactly are you taking me?”
Jake grinned as he pulled out onto the road. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
You narrowed your eyes. “If this is some cliché rooftop dinner setup, I’m leaving.”
He laughed. “No trust in me at all, huh?”
“Not even a little.”
Jake shook his head, amused. “Guess I’ll just have to change that.”
It wasn’t a rooftop dinner.
It wasn’t a fancy five-star restaurant, either.
Instead, twenty minutes later, you found yourself in the passenger seat of Jake Sim’s car as he pulled into a bustling night market on the outskirts of the city. The place was alive—bright, colorful lights hanging between stalls, the air thick with the scent of grilled food, fried snacks, and sweet desserts.
You blinked. This was… not what you expected.
Jake shot you a sideways glance, catching your surprise. “What?” he teased. “Thought I was gonna wine and dine you in some overpriced restaurant?”
You turned to him, arching a brow. “…Yes.”
He smirked. “See? You underestimated me too much.”
You scoffed. “I didn’t underestimate anything.”
Jake hummed, clearly not convinced.
Before you could protest further, he was already getting out of the car and walking around to your side, opening the door for you. “Come on,” he said, holding out a hand. “Let’s get something to eat.”
You hesitated before ignoring his hand and stepping out on your own. Jake chuckled under his breath but didn’t push it.
The market was buzzing with energy. Neon lights flashed, the sound of sizzling food filled the air, and people bustled past in happy chatter. You followed Jake as he navigated through the stalls with ease, stopping at a particular vendor selling tteokbokki.
“Spicy?” he asked, glancing at you.
You shrugged. “I can handle it.”
Jake smirked like he didn’t believe you but ordered anyway. When he handed you the steaming bowl of rice cakes drenched in spicy sauce, you took a bite without hesitation.
And instantly regretted it.
Your mouth burned.
You coughed, eyes watering as you tried to keep your expression neutral. Jake, of course, was watching you with way too much amusement.
“You good?” he asked, clearly holding back laughter.
You swallowed, forcing a nod. “Shit—Totally.”
Jake snorted before handing you a drink. “Don’t act tough.” He said with a laugh.
“I’m not acting tough,” you shot back, gulping down the drink. “I just—”
“Don’t want to look vulnerable?”
You glared at him, which only made him grin. He slowly had you figured out.
The rest of the night went like that—Jake teasing you, you pretending to be unaffected, and somehow, between all of it, you… actually started to enjoy yourself.
He dragged you to different stalls, making you try every snack he claimed was the best. He somehow convinced you to play one of those rigged carnival games, and when you failed miserably, he swooped in with that cocky confidence of his and won a stuffed bear in one try.
“For you,” he said, handing it over with a wink.
You scoffed, snatching it from his hands. “You’re so annoying.”
“You love it.”
You didn’t. Well, maybe you didn’t hate it as much as you wanted to.
Hours passed without you realizing.
By the time you both made your way back to the car, the market had quieted down, the crowd thinning as the night stretched on. You hugged the stuffed bear to your chest, glancing at Jake as he walked beside you, hands tucked in his pockets.
“I’ll admit,” you said after a beat. “This was… decent.”
Jake smirked. “High praise coming from you.”
“Don’t get used to it.”
He glanced down at where you touched him before tilting his head at you, something softer lingering in his gaze. “You know,” he said, voice quieter now. “You’re different when you’re not trying to impress.”
You stiffened slightly. “I’m not—”
“You are.” He smiled a little.
You quickly looked away, tightening your grip on the stuffed bear. “Don’t overthink it, It’s just one date.”
Jake hummed. “Just one.”
You didn’t like the way he said that. Like he knew something you didn’t.
Like he knew that one date wasn’t going to be enough.
The ride back was quieter than before. Not in a bad way—just… different. The playful teasing from earlier had faded into something heavier, something unspoken hanging in the air between you.
Jake was focused on the road, one hand gripping the wheel while the other rested lazily on the gear shift. You, on the other hand, sat with your arms crossed, staring out the window, pretending you weren’t acutely aware of every little movement he made.
It didn’t help that the car felt smaller than it actually was. Or maybe it was just the way he’d glance at you every now and then, his lips quirking up like he knew exactly what he was doing to you.
At one point, he exhaled a small chuckle. “You’re quiet.”
You turned your head slightly but didn’t meet his gaze. “So?”
Jake hummed, his fingers tapping idly against the steering wheel. “Just not used to it. Usually, you’re too busy trying to put me in my place.”
You finally looked at him. “Trust me, I still could.”
“Oh, I know,” he murmured, eyes flickering to yours before returning to the road. “But that’s not what’s happening right now, is it?”
You opened your mouth to retort but hesitated.
Because he was right.
And that was irritating.
The rest of the ride passed with that same unbearable tension, neither of you saying much, but the energy thick enough to cut with a knife. Every second felt stretched, every brush of his fingers against the wheel, every shift in his seat, every subtle glance your way felt charged.
When he finally pulled up in front of your place, you should’ve gotten out immediately. You should’ve thanked him—maybe given him a sarcastic remark for good measure—and left it at that.
But you didn’t.
Instead, you hesitated.
Your fingers clenched around the stuffed bear in your lap as you turned to face him. Jake was already watching you, his expression unreadable but his eyes dark with something else.
And before you could talk yourself out of it, you blurted, “Come inside.”
Jake blinked. “What?”
You cleared your throat, shifting in your seat. “For a photoshoot.”
His lips twitched. “At—” he glanced at the clock on the dashboard “—midnight?”
You lifted your chin. “You said you were my muse now, right? I just got an idea. Unless you’re scared of a little late-night work.”
Jake’s smirk deepened, like he could see right through you. “You really suck at making excuses, you know that?”
“Are you coming or not, Sim?”
He let out a low chuckle, shaking his head before turning off the car. “Lead the way, boss.”
The moment you stepped inside, the energy shifted again.
Your place was modern yet warm—high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, designer furniture, and mood lighting that cast a soft glow over everything. Jake took it all in as he followed you inside, hands casually tucked into his pockets.
“So,” he mused, scanning the room, “where’s the magic gonna happen?”
You rolled your eyes at his choice of words but ignored it, grabbing your camera from the shelf. “In there,” you said, motioning toward the bathroom as you both walked in.
Jake raised a brow as he watched you adjust the settings. “Straight to business?”
“Don’t flatter yourself,” you muttered, but even you knew it wasn’t convincing.
He stepped closer, just enough that you felt the heat of his presence. “Whats the plan?”
Your fingers grazed over the camera button as you eyed him without hiding.
Your jaw clenched. You inhaled sharply. Then, without missing a beat, you lifted the camera and snapped a photo right in his face.
Jake blinked at the flash.
You smirked, tilting your head slightly as you studied him. “Take off your suit—leave the button-up—and get in the bathtub.”
Jake froze, his brows lifting slightly. He looked at you like he was trying to figure out if you were serious. But for once, he didn’t argue, didn’t throw a cocky remark your way.
Instead, he simply exhaled, loosened his tie, and shrugged off his suit jacket. His fingers made quick work of his cufflinks before rolling up the sleeves of his already damp button-up. With an unreadable expression, he stepped into the tub, settling against the porcelain with his arms resting along the edges, looking like a king on his throne. His shirt, already slightly undone from earlier, clung to his chest, teasing glimpses of toned skin beneath the fabric.
You hummed, pleased with how naturally he fit into the scene. Lifting the shower head, you turned on the water.
Jake yelped.
“Hey—shit, that’s cold!“ He recoiled, hands shooting up to shield himself from the icy stream.
You grinned mischievously. “Oops. Sorry, princess.”
Jake groaned, dragging a wet hand down his face. “You’re enjoying this way too much.”
You only smirked as you adjusted the temperature, letting the water run warm. He exhaled, relaxing under the heat, though you could tell he was still a little wary.
The camera flashed.
Jake’s eyes snapped to yours. “Seriously?”
“That’s it,” you murmured, tilting the lens as you took another shot. “Just relax. You look better when you stop overthinking.”
Something shifted in his expression. His shoulders eased, his body sinking further into the tub as he let go of whatever was running through his mind. The water streamed over him, drenching his shirt completely, making the fabric cling to his torso like a second skin. His hair, already a mess from the rain earlier, now fell over his eyes, strands curling slightly from the dampness.
You almost let yourself admire him.
Almost.
He looked like something out of a luxury ad—lazily elegant, frustratingly attractive, like sin wrapped in silk. He was a glass of dark wine, the kind that burned just enough to keep you coming back for another sip.
But you wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of saying that out loud.
Instead, you inched closer, adjusting the focus to capture his eyes. He had the prettiest, prettiest boba eyes—deep and dark, framed by long lashes, almost too soft for someone who loved to tease you so relentlessly.
But something wasn’t clicking. The shot wasn’t right. You frowned, turning off the water to get a better angle, hovering slightly over him in concentration.
Jake watched you past the lens, amusement dancing in his gaze as you pouted in frustration.
“You look cute when you’re trying too hard,” he mused.
You barely had time to process his words before—
Splash.
A gasp tore from your lips as you were suddenly yanked forward, water soaking through your clothes in an instant. Your knees landed on either side of Jake’s lap, hands gripping his shoulders to steady yourself. Your body pressed against his, and the realization hit you way too late.
The camera slipped from your hands, landing with a soft clunk on the dry edge of the tub.
“You—”
But you froze.
Because holy shit.
His hair was a dripping mess, strands falling into his eyes, water trickling down his temples. His lips were slightly parted, breath shallow, chest rising and falling beneath the soaked fabric of his shirt. But it wasn’t that.
It was his eyes. Those eyes.
Gone was the teasing glint, the ever-present mischief. Instead, they were dark, hooded—pleading.
Exactly what you were looking for earlier.
But with something deeper. Something unspoken. It expressed something his mouth couldn’t say.
His grip on your waist tightened slightly, like he was waiting. Like he was testing to see if you’d pull away.
The only sound in the room was the slow, rhythmic dripping of water and the soft, uneven breaths between you both.
Neither of you moved.
Because if you did, if either of you so much as shifted—
You both knew what would happen next.
Jake exhaled shakily, his gaze flickering between your eyes and your lips. Then, voice barely above a whisper, he muttered, “You gonna do something? Because this is killing me.”
Your throat went dry.
“Jake…”
The second his name left your lips—soft, breathless, uncertain—his fingers flexed against your waist, and something in his eyes snapped.
His jaw clenched. His chest rose sharply as he exhaled through his nose, his grip just a fraction tighter, just enough for you to feel the tension between you crackle like a live wire.
“…Fuck,” he muttered under his breath.
Without another second to hesitate, his lips crashed onto yours.
A sharp inhale left you as your eyes widened in surprise, but the warmth of his mouth, the way he moved against you so effortlessly, erased any thoughts of pulling away. Your lashes fluttered shut, that little voice in your head telling you to stop quickly drowned out by the sheer pleasure of it all.
Jake kissed you like he had been starving for this—like he had been waiting too long, and now that he had you, he wasn’t going to waste another second. His hands roamed along your back, gripping, exploring, pulling you closer as if he needed you to be right there against him. Your own hands weren’t still either—fingers moving with urgency, working on the buttons of his soaked shirt, pushing the fabric away in greedy desperation.
The wet material slid off his shoulders, discarded somewhere to the side. And then—God—your hands were on him. Palms dragging down the expanse of his torso, feeling the way his muscles tensed under your touch.
Jake sighed into your mouth at the sensation, his breath warm, his body reacting to you just as much as yours was to him.
Your heart was practically pounding. What was he doing to you? You’d played this game before, teased and flirted, danced along the edge of something dangerous—but never like this. Never this raw. Never this vulnerable.
He moved before you could even process it. His hands slid up, fingers weaving into your hair as he shifted you—one second, you were on his lap, the next, you were lying beneath him, water still clinging to both of you.
Jake didn’t hesitate.
His lips left yours only to trail across your jaw, down your neck, to the sensitive dip between your collarbones. He kissed like he was memorizing you, like he wanted to leave a mark in places no one else had ever dared to touch. You sighed at the feeling, your hands slipping up into his damp hair, fingers tugging just enough to make him groan against your skin.
It was intoxicating. The weight of him, the heat of his breath, the way his lips moved against your skin as if he owned you.
Then— Jake stilled.
He pulled back just enough to look at you, his dark eyes flickering over your face. A sharp inhale filled his chest as he took you in—the way you were watching him, the way your lips were parted, the unhidden hunger in your gaze.
Damn.
You looked like you were ready to devour him.
For a moment, he just stared—like he was trying to brand this image into his brain, like he needed to convince himself that this was real.
Then, with a smirk, he leaned in, lips brushing over your ear as he whispered, “Strictly professional, huh?.”
Your brows furrowed slightly, confusion flickering through your desire-hazed mind when he pulled away completely. Jake stood, stepping out of the tub before holding a hand out for you. You took it, letting him pull you up. Water dripped from both of you as you steadied yourself, but your fingers clung to his forearm, your lips slightly parted in silent protest.
Your expression must have given you away because he chuckled, shaking his head.
“Relax,” he mused, tugging you flush against him. “I just wanted to take you to your bedroom—unless you want to do this right here?”
His voice was laced with amusement, but there was something darker beneath it. A challenge. A temptation.
And the way his fingers slowly dragged down your waist, the heat behind his gaze, the way his lips barely ghosted over yours without fully kissing you—
He knew exactly what he was doing.
The warm sunlight streaming through the window pulled you from your sleep, making you groan as your limbs ached from exhaustion. Every movement sent a dull throb through your muscles, a reminder of exactly what had happened last night.
You raised your hand to rub your temple, only to pause when your fingers brushed against something—small, dark bruises dotting your skin.
That jerk.
A lazy smirk tugged at your lips before you turned over, reaching instinctively toward his side of the bed, only to be met with cold sheets. Your stomach twisted.
Your first thought was that maybe he had just gotten up early. But then, the silence in the room became deafening, an eerie reminder of how alone you were.
Your chest tightened, but before the feeling could settle, you noticed the faint glow of light coming from the bathroom.
Relief washed over you, but it was short-lived.
As you moved closer, the sound of his voice—muffled but unmistakable—reached your ears.
You hesitated. Something in you told you to go back, to not listen. But your curiosity, your need to know, got the better of you.
And that’s when you heard it.
“Maybe this whole thing was a mistake. I should just get out of here before she wakes up, right?”
Your breath hitched.
Your heart didn’t just drop—it shattered.
Mistake.
Was that all last night was to him?
A mistake?
The one man you had allowed past your carefully built walls, the one man you let touch you in ways no one else had, was now talking about leaving before you even woke up.
Your hands clenched into fists, fingernails digging into your palm to fight the sting in your eyes. No. No way in hell were you going to sit here and mope about this.
If this was a mistake to him, then it was a mistake to you too.
You turned sharply on your heel, biting down the lump in your throat as you moved quickly to get dressed.
You weren’t going to wait around for him to leave first.
From Jake’s perspective, he woke up to the soft vibration of his phone on the nightstand beside him. Groggily, he turned over, his eyes immediately landing on you—curled up beside him, your arm draped over his waist. You looked so peaceful, your breath steady, your grip on him light but firm.
His heart fluttered at the sight.
With a quiet groan, he reached for his phone, squinting at the screen to see Heeseung flashing across the caller ID.
He sighed before accepting the call.
“Hey,” he whispered, carefully shifting out of your hold so he wouldn’t wake you. Slipping into the bathroom, he shut the door behind him. “What do you want?”
“Yo, I haven’t heard from you since the party. What’s up with you?”
Jake glanced back at the bed through the cracked door before lowering his voice. “I’m at Y/N’s place.”
Silence.
Then, a loud yelp from Heeseung made Jake wince. “What?! Y/N? No way—did you guys—?”
Jake smirked. “Yes. Maybe—we did.”
Heeseung let out a hum of approval. “Damn. Someone finally got to her. Congratulations, man. We should celebrate tonight.”
Jake scoffed. “It’s not like that, Hee.”
Heeseung frowned on the other end. “Wait… you mean you’re actually trying to make something out of this?” A dry laugh followed. “You’re out of your damn mind.”
Jake’s stomach tightened. “What do you mean? I thought—”
“Exactly. You thought.” Heeseung let out a sigh. “I already told you who she is. A man-eater, Jake. If you weren’t at her place right now, she probably would’ve disappeared before you even woke up.”
Jake swallowed hard.
It had taken a long time to get through to you—everyone knew that. But last night felt different. He wasn’t imagining that… right?
“Listen,” Heeseung continued, his voice laced with amusement, “if I were you, I’d take the good fuck and get out of there before she hurts your feelings.”
Jake’s grip on his phone tightened.
“Maybe this whole thing was a mistake. I should just get out of here before she wakes up, right?”
Then, before Heeseung could add anything else, a new voice cut in.
“Don’t listen to that player.”
Jake blinked as Jay snatched the phone away from Heeseung.
Jay shot his friend an unimpressed look before putting the phone to his ear. “If things actually seem like it’ll go good between you two, then go for it.”
Jake exhaled, some of the tension in his shoulders easing. “You think so?”
“Yes. Don’t come crying to us later saying you fumbled.”
Jake let out a short laugh, finally smiling again. “Alright. See you later.”
Hanging up, he set his phone down on the sink and glanced at himself in the mirror. He ran a hand through his messy hair, wincing slightly as a sting shot across his back.
Curious, he turned his body slightly and craned his neck to check—only to see deep, red nail marks trailing down his skin.
A laugh rumbled from his chest.
That was definitely your handiwork.
And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Another thought crossed his mind, he shouldn’t have listened to Heeseung.
Sure, You had a reputation—everyone knew that. But you weren’t just some girl to him. Last night wasn’t just about the physical.
He had seen the way you softened under his touch. The way you looked at him like he was more than just some guy you had picked for the night.
He wasn’t an idiot. He had felt it.
And yet, for a split second, Heeseung’s words had gotten into his head, making him doubt everything.
Jake stepped out of the bathroom with a light smile, now going back to chuckling at the sight of the nail marks on his back. But as he looked around, his smile slowly faded.
The bed was empty.
The sheets, once messy from the night before, were now slightly straightened—like someone had hastily tried to fix them before leaving. His heart sank.
“Y/N?” he called, his voice hesitant.
Silence.
His eyes darted around the room, searching for any sign of you—your clothes, your phone, something. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the closet door slightly ajar. He walked over, tugging it open. Empty.
Jake’s stomach twisted.
You were gone.
His mind raced as he reached for his phone, but before he could dial your number, something on the nightstand caught his eye. A necklace—your necklace. The one you always wore, the one you never took off.
His chest tightened.
What the hell just happened?
Then, it clicked. The way he had found you curled up next to him this morning—the way your fingers had unconsciously gripped his waist, as if afraid he’d leave. You weren’t the type to do that. So why did you—.
Unless—
She heard me.
Jake felt the blood drain from his face. His own words echoed in his head, the ones Heeseung had fed him, the ones he stupidly repeated without thinking.
“Maybe this whole thing was a mistake. I should just get out of here before she wakes up, right?”
He clenched his jaw. “Shit.”
You had heard him. And now, you were gone.
Jake spent the rest of the morning searching for you. He called your phone multiple times, but it kept ringing until it went to voicemail. He texted, only to be met with unread messages. Every hour that passed made his frustration grow—where the hell could you have gone?
Then, it hit him.
Your studio.
Without hesitation, he grabbed his keys and drove across the city, ignoring every red light and honking car. His mind was a storm of emotions—guilt, frustration, fear. He needed to fix this.
When he finally arrived, the familiar sight of your workspace came into view, its large glass windows dimly lit from inside. His heart pounded as he stepped out of his car and made his way to the entrance, pushing open the door without knocking.
The moment he walked in, he spotted you.
You were sitting at your desk, hunched over a sketchbook. From the way your pencil angrily scratched at the page, it was clear you were frustrated. Your usual fluid, elegant designs had been replaced with jagged lines, some pages torn out and crumpled beside you.
You were trying to drown yourself in work.
Jake’s breath caught as he took you in. Your hair was messier than usual, your face devoid of the usual sharp confidence you carried. You looked exhausted. Like you hadn’t slept at all.
Like you were trying to forget last night ever happened.
But when you sensed someone standing in the doorway, you didn’t look up. “Go away.”
Jake swallowed hard. “Y/N—”
“I said go away.” Your voice was steady, but he could hear the underlying hurt beneath it. That hurt made his stomach twist.
“I need to talk to you,” he said, taking slow steps toward you.
You let out a sharp, bitter laugh, finally looking up at him. “Talk? Now you want to talk? Thought this was all a mistake?”
Jake flinched. “That’s not—”
“Don’t,” you cut him off, slamming your pencil down. “Don’t stand there and try to spin this, Jake. I heard you. I heard everything.”
The weight of your words hit him like a punch to the gut.
“I woke up, and you were gone,” you continued, voice rising. “I went looking for you because—because for once, I thought maybe this was different. Maybe I wasn’t just another thing for you to play with. But then I heard you. I heard you say it was a mistake—that you should leave before I woke up.” You scoffed, shaking your head. “Guess I just saved you the trouble.”
Jake ran a hand through his hair, his heart hammering. “Y/N, you don’t understand—”
“Oh, I understand perfectly.” You stood up from your chair, stepping closer to him, your expression unreadable. “I was stupid enough to believe that this was more than just another hookup for you. That maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t some temporary distraction.”
Jake took a shaky breath. “You’re not.”
You let out a humorless laugh. “Really? Because that’s not what it sounded like this morning.”
Jake exhaled sharply, gripping the back of his neck. He was messing this up—again. He needed to make you understand.
“I didn’t mean any of that,” he said, voice softer now. “I was on the phone with Heeseung, and he was—” Jake paused, shaking his head. “He was saying a bunch of bullshit, making me second-guess things. But I never meant it, Y/N. The second I said it, I regretted it.”
You stared at him, jaw tight. “And yet you still said it.”
“I know.” He sighed, stepping even closer. “I was stupid. I let someone else’s words get in my head, and I didn’t think. But if you’d stayed just a second longer, you would’ve heard Jay tell me not to listen to Heeseung. You would’ve heard me say that I wanted to stay.”
You hesitated, but your arms remained crossed, a sign that you weren’t letting him off that easily.
Jake sighed, rubbing his face. “Y/N, I don’t do this. I don’t—I don’t wake up next to someone and feel peaceful. I don’t look at someone and think, God, I want more than just one night. But you…” He looked at you, eyes desperate. “With you, it’s different. And that scares the hell out of me.”
Your lips parted slightly, caught off guard by the raw honesty in his voice.
Jake took your silence as permission to continue. “I don’t want to be just another regret for you. I don’t want this to be some game. And if you tell me you regret last night—if you tell me you never want to see me again—I’ll leave. But I don’t think you regret it.”
Your breath hitched. He was right. You didn’t.
But you were scared, too.
Scared because you had spent so long keeping people at arm’s length, convinced that love was a battlefield you had no interest in fighting for. Scared because Jake had found a way past your walls without you even realizing it.
And scared because, despite everything… you still wanted him.
“I don’t regret it,” you admitted, voice barely above a whisper. “But I don’t know if I can trust you.”
Jake swallowed, nodding. “Then let me prove it to you.”
You stared at him for a long moment, searching his face for any sign of deception. But all you saw was sincerity.
A heavy silence filled the room before you finally exhaled, your shoulders sagging. “This doesn’t mean I forgive you yet.”
Jake’s lips quirked into a small, hopeful smile. “That’s fair.”
You sighed, rubbing your temples. “God, you’re such a pain in the ass.”
“I’ve heard.” He grinned.
You rolled your eyes, but this time, there was no real malice behind it. Just exhaustion. Maybe even the hint of a smile.
Jake took a tentative step forward. “Can I at least take you to dinner?”
You raised a brow. “A real date?”
“A real date,” he promised. “No mistakes this time.”
You studied him for a moment before letting out a small sigh. “Fine. But im paying.”
Jake scoffed. “Just because you have way more money than me doesn’t mean you can show off.”
And as you stood there, sticking your tongue at the boy mischievously who had somehow wormed his way into your heart, you realized— this definitely wasn’t a mistake after all.
BONUS 𝜗𝜚˚⋆
The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting golden streaks across the bed. You stirred, shifting slightly, only to feel the weight of an arm draped over your waist. A soft exhale tickled the back of your neck, and you turned your head slightly, catching a glimpse of Jake—eyes closed, breathing steady, his features relaxed in a way that made your chest tighten.
It had been weeks since the misunderstanding that nearly tore you apart. Since then, things had fallen into place in a way neither of you had expected. There were no grand declarations or extravagant gestures—just moments like this. Quiet, intimate, and real.
You gently moved his arm, attempting to slip out of bed without waking him, but before you could even shift an inch, his hold tightened.
“Where do you think you’re going?” His voice was rough with sleep, and yet, there was a teasing lilt to it.
You rolled your eyes, smiling despite yourself. “I was going to make coffee. But I see you have other plans.”
He hummed, burying his face into the crook of your neck. “My only plan is keeping you right here for a little longer.”
You let yourself relax against him for a moment before sighing. “Jake, we can’t just stay in bed all day.”
“Why not?” He murmured against your skin. “I finally got you, and now you want to leave me for coffee? You wound me.”
You turned to face him, raising a brow. “You’re so dramatic.”
He smirked. “And yet, you love me anyway.”
Your breath hitched slightly, and Jake noticed—the way your eyes softened, the way you licked your lips as if debating whether to respond. Love. The word had been lingering between you two for a while now, unsaid but present in every touch, every look, every stolen moment.
Instead of answering, you leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. It was slow, unhurried, filled with an emotion you weren’t quite ready to put into words but hoped he could feel anyway.
He smiled against your lips, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on your back. “I’ll take that as a ‘yes, I do love you, Jake. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I don’t know how I survived this long without you.’”
You scoffed, pushing at his chest playfully. “You’re such a dumbass.”
He caught your hand before you could move away, intertwining his fingers with yours. “Fine, fine,” he relented, grinning. “But at least let me make the coffee. You stay here.”
You arched a brow. “You? Making coffee?”
Jake gasped dramatically. “I’ll have you know I make an excellent cup of coffee.”
“You put in twice the sugar any sane person would,” you deadpanned.
“You still drink it when I make it,” he pointed out smugly.
You rolled your eyes, but the warmth in your chest only grew. This—this was what made it different with Jake. The teasing, the tenderness, the effortless way you fit together.
As he finally pulled himself out of bed, ruffling his already-messy hair, you watched him fondly. Maybe neither of you had planned for this, but it was happening anyway.
And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Beg for me
Synopsis: Lets just say he’s not happy when he wakes up to find he’s tied to the bed and his pretty little girlfriend is teasing and edging him.
TW: bondage, reader calls Jongho a bitch, use of vibrator, implied consent, slight choking, teasing and edging, slight begging, Jongho is not happy!🫠
This is a prompt from the WIP tag game! Let me know if I missed anything! (Not proofread, sorry for any typos)
Stirring from his sleep, Jongho tries to stretch only to find that he can’t. Quickly opening his eyes to find his wrists bound to the bed and his girlfriend standing at the foot of the bed, hands behind her back with a smile on her face.
“Hey there, sleepyhead.” you say coyly. You know that he is going to be pissed when he realizes what you’re about to do, but being the brat you are you couldn’t care less.
“Y/N? What are you doing” He asks, pulling against his restraints. Sleep is still evident in his voice as well as a hint of irritation.
“I wanna play with you.” you respond sweetly before slowly crawling onto the bed and up his body. As you straddle his thighs, you slowly show him the item you hand concealed behind your back. It's the pretty pink vibrator Jongho got you for Valentine’s Day.
At that moment, Jongho is fully awake. As his irritation grows, he pulls more and more on the handcuffs connecting him to the headboard. They’re cheap, and he could break them if he really wanted to, but deep down, a part of him wants to see what you have planned.
“Y/n. Untie me. Now.” Jongho says through gritted teeth. He knows that you won’t listen to him, but at least this way he can say he warned you. If you know anything about Jongho, it's that he will definitely get you back for this. But for now, he was at your mercy and you were definitely going to enjoy this while you could.
You simply shake your head, smiling down at Jongho with an almost evil smile. You trail the vibrator down his chest and his abs before settling it over his growing bulge.
“Don’t you dare.” Jongho warns, but it only encourages your behavior. You lean down, slotting your lips of his in a gentle kiss. For a moment Jongho actually believes you’ll listen to him. A mistake on his part.
One moment, you two are sharing a sweet and intimate kiss and the next the vibrator comes to life, pulling a loud moan from the boy below you. He pulls harder on the cuff, but not hard enough to break them. He still wants to see this play out.
Jongho feels the pressure building in his stomach and knows that he’s close to the edge. But right before he tips over the edge, you pull away completely. His eyes, full of fire, shoot a nasty glare your way.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Did you want to cum? You have to beg for it.” you say teasingly. So this was your game, make you dangle his release in front of him only to take it away. Now he was pissed and horny, a dangerous combo.
“I’m not begging.” Jongho grits out. He has never been so turned on but also so angry in his life. “Then you’re not cumming” you say, with a nonchalant shrug of your shoulders.
“Y/n, you’re pushing your luck. You won’t like what happens.” Jongho warns.
“Ooo, I’m so scared. You think you’re in control?” you say, harshly grabbing him by the throat. “Right now, you’re my bitch. You understand? And I said "beg.”
Oh, pissed would be an understatement. Jongho was livid. He wanted nothing more than to break those damn cuffs and show you who the bitch really is. But no matter how much he wanted to end your little game, he decided against it. He’ll play along and let you have your fun… for now.
“Are you going to be a good boy and beg? Or am I going to have to make you?” you say, releasing his throat, trailing your hand down his chest. You’re trying your hardest to sound dominant. But you weren’t fooling anyone, especially Jongho. You both knew you were going to be in for it.
“Please, just touch me.” Jongho says through gritted teeth, his patience running thin. Pleased with his response, you give in, placing the vibrator back on his aching bulge.
The moment you do, Jongho is throwing his head back. Relieved at the stimulation. “Good boy, are you going to cum for me?” You say confidently. Jongho nods his head, not trusting himself to speak. He wanted so badly to pin you to the best and fuck you until you can’t do anything but beg him.
“You’ve been so good for me. You can come, baby.” you say sweetly. If you don’t draw this out, maybe he’ll go easy on you. Or so you thought. With your permission, Jongho allows himself to fall into ecstasy, staining your pretty silk nightgown with his cum. Though he would never admit it, he’s never cum harder than he did right now.
Slowly, you guide him down from his high. He takes a moment to collect himself before looking at you again. He wasn't surprised to see the stupid smirk on your face.
One moment, you have Jongho writhing in pleasure beneath you and the next you he grabs you and pins you to the bed. Look up at him you see the sinister smile as he dangles the now broken handcuff in front of your face.
Before you can fully comprehend what happened, Jongho is ripping his shirt off, using it to tie your hands to the headboard. Now, it was Jongho’s turn to play, and he had absolutely no intention of taking it easy on you. You realize now that you fucked up, bit time.
Jongho leans over your bound body, leaning in to whisper in your ear, “Still want me to beg?”

Hi! I was wondering if you could do an imagine where Will and Samy are maybe at the lake house or this could be when they were in high school and there is a spider or mouse in her room and she makes Will catch it and then stay with her the rest of the night. Maybe also Jack, Luke, and Quinn told her to just go to bed and to stop being dramatic but Will saves the day.
guys i’ve underestimated how busy i am so i’m sorry i haven’t been as active 😔😔 i’m trying really hard to get through the requests so if i answer any that were from so long ago i promise it’s not intentional

“jack! jack!” samy whispered yelled into her brother’s door. she stood nervously in the hallway waiting for him to open the door while glancing back at her own room down the hallway.
the door cracked open, “what?” jack asked in annoyance.
“can you come into my room for a second? there’s like a huge fucking spider in there,” samy rushed out, worried that the eight legged creature was crawling across her wall.
“samy, it’s 1 in the morning,” jack groaned.
“please? jack it’s too high and i don’t wanna kill it,” the younger girl pleaded, but her brother wasn’t budging.
“you kill it. you’re literally fifteen,” maybe if they were still 6 and 10, but samy wasn’t a kid anymore and jack fully knew she could kill the bugs in her room now.
“j, please. it’s freaking me out. it’s fucking huge,” the brunette begged, but jack wasn’t having it. he was exhausted and did not think this warranted getting woken up for.
“no, you’re being dramatic. just grab a paper towel or some shit,” the boy shut his door before samy could say anything else.
samy stood there in the quiet hallway in shock that jack just closed the door on her face. the girl frowned before moving onto the next door which was luke’s room. she figured him and will were still awake considering they never slept during the summer like ever. she knocked and prayed one of them would answer.
to her relief, the door cracked open and luke poked his head out. “what do you want?”
“can one of you please, please come kill a spider in my room? it’s literally fucking huge,” samy begged and of course, luke rolled his eyes.
“seriously sam? it’s a spider,” he complained like jack did minutes ago.
“please, it’s freaking me out. i can’t kill it. it’s too big,” samy pleaded and that’s when will finally gave in.
“i’ll kill it,” the blonde got up from the chair he was in.
“dude, we’re in the middle of a game,” luke complained.
“it’ll take like two seconds,” samy smiled gratefully at will as she led the hockey player back to her room. they heard luke’s door close and him mumble a whatever.
the girl slowly crept back into the room, her gaze scanning for wherever the demon went.
she found the thing stuck up in the corner and immediately clutched will’s arm. “see?”
it really was big. the body had to be the size of a piece of broccoli. will’s eyes wine ed when he laid his eyes on the insect, “holy shit you weren’t kidding.”
“i told you! it’s huge! there’s no way i can kill it with a paper towel,” samy cried and freaked even more when it moved a few inches.
“okay, okay, i can do it. give me a cup,” will determined. the younger hughes handed him one of her empty plastic cups and watched a bit fearfully as he slowly shuffled forward so he could stand up on her bed to reach.
“if it falls i’m gonna scream,” she so badly wanted to close her eyes but she knew she couldn’t.
“it won’t, i promise,” the hockey player carefully climbed onto samy’s bed, his movements slow and deliberate as to not spook the big spider.
samy nervously watched will slowly raise his arm with the cup in his hand. he zeroed in on the creature, his own fearful expression on his lips, but will knew he had to be brave for samy’s sake.
the two were dead silent as will carefully closed the cup around the spider. he hit the cup against the wall with a loud smack and samy couldn’t help her scream.
“got it!” will exclaimed. “give me a piece of paper,” he urged and samy quickly handed him notebook paper. he slid it between the wall and the cup to allow himself to ease the plastic cup away from the wall.
“throw that thing outside,” samy quickly pushed him out of her room.
will ran downstairs to dispose of the big creature while samy scanned her walls for anymore unpleasant bugs. will came back a moment later with two free hands.
“all gone!” he smiled.
“thank you. sorry for bothering you guys. i just got really freaked out,” the brunette frowned. she was glad the spider was gone, but it left a very erie feeling across her skin because how did a spider as big as that one even get into her room?
“it’s fine. that was a huge spider. i thought you were being dramatic,” will teased a bit and samy rolled her eyes.
“do you mind hanging around for a second? i need to like calm down from that,” the girl laughed nervously as she sat on her bed to calm her thoughts.
it was clear she was not a huge fan of bugs like that.
“yeah, sure,” will smiled and joined her on the bed.
samy’s heart was racing, so she tried taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down. will watched her, not realizing how freaked out the girl got until now and he suddenly felt a little bad.
“remember when we were like 11 and our parents took us to the zoo and i completely started crying over the gorillas because of that one kid that fell into the enclosure?” the blonde said mostly in hopes that it would take samy’s mind off of the large spider.
“oh my god, yeah. you sobbed in front of everyone and no one could make you stop,” samy giggled.
“probably not my best moment,” will laughed too.
“it was soo funny though. it proved you had empathy though,” the girl poked him with a smile.
the two talked for a bit longer until at some point samy fell asleep without even realizing, except she had fallen asleep on will. the blonde flushed and felt bad leaving after seeing how freaked out she was, so he decided to stay. luke would be able to live without him for a night.
frankly, that was probably the best sleep will’s had all summer because he wasn’t staying up all night for once playing video games. plus, samy’s bed was way more comfortable than luke’s trundle pull out bed.

MINORS AND AGELESS BLOGS, DNI
Chan came back just before lunch. You finished filing paperwork as he walked up behind you.
"Hi, princess." He wraps his arms around your waist, surprising you.
"Hi—Hello, sir." You put your hand over your heart when he scared you.
"Mm.." He presses himself against you, making you feel how hard he's getting. "Did you have fun with Minho?" He kisses your temple. You feel your face flush as he chuckles.
"I uh..umm.." You cover your face.
"Mm, none of that sweetheart." He uncovers your face and kisses your neck. "I imagine he treated you well though?" He kisses up to behind your ear, kissing the hickey Minho left. You shiver a bit and nod.
"He did. He didn't hurt me."
"Good. Wouldn't want my princess too sore." He whispers in your ear, making you shiver. He pulls away from you, smirking. "Lets go get lunch, hmm? The boys are waiting."
——
"Y/nnie!" Felix and Han say in unison when they see you. Getting up from their seats, they come over to you and hug you tight, squishing you between them. You smile and hug the boys. Felix had gotten his hair cut and dyed it black, Jisung dying his blue.
"Hi guys. Your hair looks amazing." You reach up to touch their hair when they both let you go. They grin and thank you. Chan walks past you, letting his hand graze across your ass as he sits between Minho and Hyunjin. Felix leads you to your seat between Seungmin and I.N before he goes and sits back between Changbin and Han. Seungmin grins at you, leaning down, he nips at your neck.
"Hi, puppy." He whispers. "Miss our Innie and me yet?" He sits back up as I.N puts a hand on your thigh, gripping your plush skin. Your cheeks flush.
"Boys, don't tease her too much." Minho says. The two youngest just chuckle. Seungmin leans back in his seat and drapes his arm over your shoulders. I.N slides his hand under your skirt a little after a few minutes, teasing you as he runs his fingertips along your skin. You half regret, half thankful for wearing a flowy skirt today.
As he slips his hand up higher, he eventually gets between your legs. He smirks when he finds out you're not wearing panties—of which Minho still has. He slowly runs his finger over your folds, feeling how wet you are. Seungmin looks over and grins, seeing what the youngest is doing. He leans over, his head behind yours, to whisper to I.N.
"Having fun, Innie?" He chuckles quietly. You feel your neck flush now as I.N slips his middle finger between your folds, touching your clit roughly. You squeeze your thighs around his hand.
"She's not wearing panties, hyung." He chuckles softly. Seungmin lets out a sharp exhale through his nose, trying not to be too obvious that he and I.N aren't being good. Minho looks your way and raises a brow to you. You shake your head a bit, saying it's ok.
I.N teases and edges you throughout the duration of lunch, the rest of the boys either didn't notice what was going on, or decided to ignore it. You had to fight the urge to moan out, occasionally gripping I.N's arm, trying to ground yourself. As lunch came to a close, the youngest finally took his finger from you, popping his finger into his mouth, licking it clean. He fixes your skirt before placing his hand back on your thigh.
Chan ends up paying for everyone's lunch, the boys all thanking him. One by one, the boys give you a hug and kiss on the cheek, I.N and Seungmin winking at you.
"Lix, you still meeting me at the company today? Unless you need to postpone the meeting?" Chan asks as he comes up next to you, wrapping his hand around your waist.
"Yeah, no. I'm still coming down. You've been so busy that I needed to schedule an appointment to see you." Felix teases.
"I know, Lixie. I'm sorry." He pulls him over with his other hand. Gently kissing him, Chan smiles. "I'll see you in an hour?" Felix smiles back, placing a hand on the older’s cheek, he kisses back.
"I'll see you in an hour."
Chan says goodbye to the boys and brings you back to his car, driving back to the company.
"You're going to accompany me to this meeting, ok, princess?" He smiles at you as he parks the car.
"Ok sir. Do I need any paperwork from the office?" You ask, unbuckling yourself.
"Nope. Just your pretty little self, princess." He winks and gets out. You head back up to his office with him until it's time to go meet Felix. You follow him down to the meeting room where Felix was sitting in one of the chairs. He was looking out the large windows of the meeting room. When you enter, his head turns to you and Chan and his face lights up with a bright smile. He immediately gets up and goes to hug you and Chan, the older pecking Felix on the lips.
Felix pecks his lips and looks at you. His brows scrunch a little. "Can I kiss you, Y/n?" You nod shyly and he smiles wide again. He softly cups your face and kisses you softly, his lips carefully moulding to yours. Chan chuckles and locks the door as you wrap your arms around Felix. Watching, he closes the blinds on the windows of the meeting room so that people can't see inside the room.
Felix deepens the kiss, moving his hands down to your waist, he fervently slips his hands up your shirt, grazing his hands across your breasts. You moan softly as his small hands gently massage you through the fabric of your bra. Chan grins and sits in the chair at the head of the table, leaning forward. He rests his head in his hands as he watches you both.
"Princess? Lixie?" Chan sits back in his chair. Felix lets out a deep 'hmm?', not wanting to break the kiss. When you try to pull away, his hands quickly move to your back to keep you close. He mumbles out a 'mine' against your lips. Slipping his tongue into you right after. Your cheeks flush a bit, moaning into his mouth. One hand moves to Felix's hair, grabbing a gentle handful. Chan watches you, an ever growing tent in his pants.
"Felix. Princess." He calls again. Felix groans into your mouth, not wanting to pull away. He kisses you for a moment longer, softly biting your lower lip as he pulls away. He smiles at you, eyes flicking from your eyes to your lips, shiny from spit, and probably swollen from Felix's kiss. Eyes flicking back to yours, he gently grabs your hand and walks you over to Chan. Chan reaches out for your hand, pulling you to him when you take his. He pulls you into his lap and motions for Felix to sit in the chair next to him.
While Felix and Chris talk, the older man starts pulling your skirt up, just barely enough for Felix to see underneath. He slips a finger between your soaking folds, slowly circling your sensitive nub. You close your eyes and immediately lean back against Chan, head falling back to his shoulder. Felix's eyes shift down to between your legs, his cock twitching in his pants. They go quiet, the only sound in the room is of Chan's fingers in your wet heat.
"Is she still tight, hyung?" Felix asks quietly, his head tilting a bit. He reaches forward and places a hand on your knee. Chan uses his other hand to pull your shirt up more.
"Check for yourself, Lix." Chan smirks. Felix kneels in front of you, between yours and Chan's legs. He keeps one hand on your knee, the other coming up to your sensitive heat.
"Can I ask, though, why she isn't wearing panties?" He asks as he slowly slides two fingers into you, making you moan out.
"Oh, Minho has them." Chan states like it's a normal thing. Felix just nods as he slowly fingers you. He groans out when he feels how tight you are. He picks up his pace before sliding his fingers out of you, immediately replacing his fingers with his tongue. You arch in Chan's arms and moan out, your hands grab onto Felix's head, his hair soft. Felix chuckles into your cunt as he licks and sucks, Chan rubbing your clit faster.
"She still tastes so good, hyung." Felix says, muffled against you. He groans at your taste, licking you fast. You try to arch again but Chan holds you down against him. You moan loudly as you cum on Felix's face. He moans out and licks up your release. He stands up, smiling. His chin is covered in your release. Chan swipes his finger through your folds quickly before sticking it in his mouth.
"You want to continue, princess?" Chan asks you. You nod a little.
"Yes, please, sir." You breathe hard. Felix and Chan both smile. Chan motions for Felix to fuck you. Felix quickly undoes his pants, pulling his cock out and strokes himself slowly.
"Do I need a condom?" He looks at Chan.
"No. Minho is the only one she's slept with since the last time we all saw her." Chan kisses your neck softly. Felix nods and steps between your legs again. He crouches a bit, lining himself up with your entrance and slowly slides in until he bottoms out. You moan, feeling him fill you up.
"Fuck.." Felix whispers, holding your hips. He slowly starts to thrust in you, pulling soft moans from you. "I honestly couldn't stop thinking about you, beautiful. I wish we had exchanged numbers.." He grunts. "Every time I touched myself, I thought about when we were together. I had hoped to see you again.."
You moan out, clenching around him. He groans and grinds into you. Chan chuckles against your skin, softly kissing along your neck as Felix pushes your shirt up. He leans down and kisses your breasts, moving your bra out of the way so he can suck on your hardening buds. You gasp and squirm in Chan's arms. Chan rubs your clit faster, making you moan louder. Felix groans against your breast and fucks into you faster. You grab at Chan's arm as you cum hard around Felix, clenching around his cock.
"Ahh, fuck..I'm..ah..I'm close beautiful." Felix grunts and groans, fucking into you hard and fast. Chan continues rubbing your clit, making you squirm in his hold, cunt clenching around Felix a few more times before the freckled man cums deep inside you. Chan smiles and stops his circling, gently holding you to him. Felix softly kisses along your breast, leaving a few love bites as he lightly trusted into you.
"How do you feel princess? Was going to this meeting worth it?" Chan gently rubs your belly. You nod, letting out a tired, breathy 'yeah'. Chan smiles and kisses your cheek. "Think you have one more in you for me?"
"Y-yes, sir." You slowly lift your head as Felix pulls out of you. You feel Felix's cum dripping out of you. Chan picks you up from his lap and stands, laying you on the meeting table on your side. He undoes his belt and pants, pulling them and his boxers down, his hard cock springing free. Felix groans and sits in a chair, wanting to watch. Chan slowly swipes his fingers through your folds before pushing two fingers inside.
"Let's get this back inside you..can't let Lixie's cum go to waste, can we?" He mumbles as you moan out. He slowly fingers you before pulling out and putting his fingers in his mouth as he lines his cock up with your entrance. You start to open your legs, but Chan uses his other hand to keep them closed. "None of that princess. You don't move a muscle."
He grabs onto his cock and slowly starts to push inside you, stretching you out. He groans loudly as you're much tighter in this position. You moan loudly as he fills you completely. Felix puts a hand on your thigh, gently rubbing your leg as he watches you get filled.
"My beautiful princess..so tight for us.." he places a hand on your hip and starts to slowly thrust into you, pulling out to the tip and slowly pushing back into you to the hilt. You moan his name loudly. "What was that princess? That's not what you call me, now is it?" He smacks your ass hard enough for there to be a sting, but not hard enough to leave a mark. You gasp and moan out again.
"D-daddy.." You moan out when he grinds into you slowly. "Ahh..please.." Felix looks up at Chan, a shit-eating grin on his face.
"So Minho-hyung was right about that? When did you have a daddy kink?" Felix kisses your leg softly.
"Keep it up, Lix, and you're next." Chan looks down at his friend, the statement making Felix blush. "Actually. I don't have any more appointments for the day, do I, princess?" He snaps his hips hard into you, making you gasp.
"N-no, daddy. I don't..think so.." You arch your back, Felix reaches over to gently grasp your breast, playing with your nipple. He leans forward, kissing and biting your neck, leaving a few love bites. Chan fucks into you faster, groaning at how tight you are in this position. When Felix leans back from your neck, Chan leans down to leave a few of his own.
"Good. When we are done here, you're free to go home for the day." He grinds slowly into your cunt as you clench around him, soft whimpers spill from your lips. "Felix and I have a little more to go over." Chan straightens and smirks down at him. Felix's cheeks flush and he swallows, his Adam's apple bobbing.
"Y-yes sir…yes daddy.." you moan when he starts thrusting harder and deeper, his tip kissing your cervix with every thrust. He looks between your bodies, watching as his cock disappears inside you. When it slides out of you, it's covered in yours and Felix's mixed releases. He groans at the sight, fucking you faster. You moan and arch your back, cunt clenching hard. You moan out 'daddy' loud and cum around Chan.
"Good girl. Daddy's good girl.." he groans out. He fucks you for a little longer before he cums deep inside you, his cock as deep as he can get. He rubs your hip and thigh as Felix was still playing with your breast.
"Daddy's good girl.." you echo quietly. Chan continues thrusting into you slowly for a bit before sliding out of you. Felix grabs the box of tissues in the middle of the table and passes them to Chan. He thanks the younger and gently cleans you up before helping you sit.
"You going to be ok, princess?" He leans down and kisses your forehead.
You nod. "Yeah. Just really tired and hungry." You laugh softly.
"Want me to see if Minho can take you home? I'm sure he won't mind." Chan helps you stand, fixing your clothes and hair.
"No, it's ok. I have to go upstairs and grab my things, too." You smile at the two Australians.
"Thank you for today, beautiful." Felix gently cups your cheeks and places a soft kiss on your lips. You smile and kiss him back softly. You double check to make sure you look decent before leaving the room, relocking the door on your way out.
Chan and Felix watch you leave. As soon as the door shuts, Chan grabs Felix and pulls him close, smashing his lips onto the younger ones. Felix gasps at the suddenness, hands landing on Chan's chest. He kisses Felix deeply and fervently.
"I told you that you're next, Lixie." He undoes the others' pants again and pushes them down. "Off, Lix." He mumbles. Felix immediately takes his shoes off to get his pants off, boxers following soon after. He has Felix sit on the meeting room table as he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small bottle of lube. He pops it open and squirts a small amount on his finger. Felix lays back, a light blush spread across his cheeks.
"Ready, baby boy?" Chan grins down at him.
"Yes, daddy." Felix teases. Chan chuckles and spreads Felix's legs open, bringing his hand down to his ass. He slowly spreads some lube around Felix's hole, the younger shivering a bit from the cold substance. "You couldn't warm it first?" His brows scrunch a little.
"Sorry, mate." Chan says, leaning down to give Felix a quick kiss, he pushes his digit inside him. Felix gasps into the kiss, his mouth opening, allowing Chan to slip his tongue inside. Felix moans as Chan's tongue explores his mouth, finger slipping in and out of him slowly.
Chan groans softly as he adds another finger, carefully preparing him for his cock. Felix breaks from the kiss for air, moaning loudly. Chan straightens his back, smiling at the freckled man. He adds a bit more lube directly to Felix's hole as he adds a third finger. Once he's sure Felix is ready, he takes his fingers out and lubes his cock.
"You ready, baby boy?" Chan presses his tip to Felix's hole, gently prodding it, but not entering him.
Felix nods, a playful smirk on his face. "Fuck me, daddy." Chan playfully growls at him as he slowly pushes his length in. Felix gasps loudly and moans. "Fuuucckk.."
Chan chuckles as he bottoms out, softly rubbing his boyfriend's legs, carefully wrapping them around his waist.
"Good, baby?" He moves his hand down to where his cock slightly bulges Felix’s skin. Felix looks up at Chan, smiling.
"Yeah, excellent, hyung." He watches Chan, eyes full of love. Chan leans down and kisses him deeply, slowly moving his hips, pulling more moans from Felix. The younger moans into Chan's mouth, slipping his own tongue into the older’s mouth. Chan playfully sucks on his tongue as he reaches between them to grab Felix's cock. Chan pulls back from the kiss, slowly stroking Felix as he fucks into him faster.
"I know you came in Y/n not long ago, but think you can cum once more for me?" Chan grunts.
"Y-yeah…" Felix moans out.
"Good boy." Chan smirks and strokes Felix faster, rubbing his thumb over his tip. Chan carefully grinds into Felix's ass, the younger letting out a loud, lewd moan. "Let me know if it's too much, Lixie." The younger one just nods. Chan strokes Felix faster, tightening his grip a little bit. Felix arches his back, his release coming on quick. He gasps and moans louder as he cums, strings of white landing on his stomach and Chan's hand.
The older groans at the sight, he continues stroking Felix as he thrusts deeper into him, his cock twitching inside his boyfriend, his own release coming.
"Fuck..you ready Felix?" Chan groans out.
"Yes..fuck..fill me, please hyung." Felix moans loudly. Chan growls a bit and thrusts as deep as he can go, cumming into him. He groans loudly, pulling Felix up carefully into his arms. He kisses him soft but deep. Felix wraps his arms around Chan's neck, kissing him back. They stay like that for a moment before Felix pulls back, both men breathing heavily.
"Let's get you cleaned up, then I want you to go home and take a nice relaxing bath, ok?" He kisses Felix's nose, a soft smile on his lips.
"Of course, hyung. I love you."
"I love you too, baby boy."

✿ Josh loves it when you get on top of him. He loves it when you slide your sopping wet cunt on his cock. He loves it when you tease the tip in just to pull it out again to fuck with him.
“Do you want me to put it in baby? Can you imagine how good it’ll feel to have me wrapped around you?”
“Fuck, yesyesyesyes baby please baby i wanna put it in you so bad.”
✿ Josh loves it when you ride his face, he always aims to please you first and you find it hard to resist looking back at his hard, untouched cock. His large hands hold on to your ass to push you farther and farther onto his face. Uncaring for the chances of you breaking his nose.
✿ Josh gets whiny when you’re busy with something other than giving him attention. He loves nipping and kissing your neck or thighs, begging you to just look at him.
“Sweetheart, i have to finish this by tonight, i can’t have you doing this again. Come on.”
You look down at him, eyes meeting his desperate ones. His fingers sneaking its way into your sleeping shorts, cheek meeting your thigh. Too horny and desperate to have pride over himself.
✿ Josh eats you out every chance he gets. The feel of your fingers running through his hair and pulling them when he sucks on your clit just right, gets him going.
His urges are always sudden and frequent. It’s the main reason why you wear a lot of short skirts recently, though you never outwardly say it. He always sneaks a warm hand under them and goes to his knees.
“Can i?”
“Of course you can baby.”
He’ll have you standing up, hands always ready to hold your weight whenever your legs get too weak.

“You taste so fucking good.”
“Oh sweetheart, you’re fucking killing me.”
He alternates between licking you in your soft middle and sucking on your clit to make you cum in his mouth again. Face all wet and warm, high on his love for you.
✿ Josh loves when you assure him that he’s making you feel good. Even while he’s balls deep and hitting all the right places inside of you. Insecurity and hesitation flashes through his face.
“Are you ah- feeling good baby?”
“Fuckfuckfuck ohh fuck-“
Little does he know, you’re way too dickmatized to form coherent thoughts at the moment. You feel him fucking you rougher, further rearranging your insides.
“Baby? Am i doing good?”
“Josh oh fuck! Yesyesyes you are baby! Right there-“
✿ Josh loves it when you call him good boy after making you cum. He loves it so much, he sometimes cums at the sound of it.
After fingering you to completion on his couch. You look him in the eyes while stroking his hair. Fingers still inside you, soaked and unmoving.
“Such a good boy, my sweet boy.”
He lets out a small whine, dropping his face to your neck.
“Oh fuck.”
You let out a small affectionate laugh, holding the back of his head to your neck. His face warms in embarrassment.
“Oh my god Josh! Did you just cum in your pants?”
You hear a small, muffled mumble.
“Shut up.”

Basically reader is head strategist for Mercedes and personally taylor made the strategies for nico and lewis but their fighting is disrupting the statistics even though he's trying to give them the best he can, reader is deeply in love with his bestfriends but neither lewis or nico seem to notice admits their friendship turned almost relationship turned bitter rivalry, its the year before nico wins his championship and its announced that reader is moving to another team (redbull maybe? Or ferrari so its angstyer when lewis moves there) anyway fast foward through out the year its been a grueling battle to win between lewis and nico that nico realizes that they haven't talked to reader since half way into last years season when nico finds out that reader moved teams he's rocked with devastation, anger, grief and a realization that he and lewis are the reason you don't talk to them anymore nico tries to tell lewis but he's just like 'so what? I'm still going to win' and nico stares at him in astonishment not recognizing his former bestfriend and would be lover, flash over to after nico wins the championship he announces he's going to retire before trying to contact reader which reader ignores for six months (lewis is ignoring the lonely feeling in his chest) before he picks up the phone and before nico can talk starts to rant about how reader just wants them to leave him alone that while he loves them and that while he tried to forget his feelings for them he can't but he can no longer be involved in their petty fued, Nico apologizes saying that he's retired and wants to make amends, we then flash foward to the year before lewis wins his seventh win, lewis has seen reader around the paddock but hasn't been able to get him to talk with him lewis has also seen the way nico has cozied up to reader (reader and nico are in a relationship, not that anyone knows that) anyway lewis tries to be friends with reader again (and Definitely more) but reader avoids him which leads him to talking to nico and Reconciling with him first and then with reader (all three of them just having these dinners at restaurants so they could have the closeness they had when they were younger) it takes lewis till 2023 (3 years basically since he won his 7th in 2020) when max wins another championship to both figure out nico and reader are in a relationship (got together 2018) and to realize he's pining for them both (again) cue awkward lewis being given advice from george, who directs him too lando, on advice on how to ask two people who are in a relatioship out (some side george x alex x lando or maybe oscar x lily x lando) anyway lewis asks nico and reader out in winter break where their caught by the media, before that though reader explains to lewis that before he fixed their friendship reader was really hurt that they would put racing over each others lives and that while reader and nico love lewis he needs to promise to that he won't put racing above their relationship and that after 2025 he'll retire wether he wins the championship or not, lewis agrees quickly afraid they'll take it back saying that he felt it was going to be his last year anyway, it ends with lewis winning 2025 and kissing both nico and reader after the last race and announcing he's going to retire.
Holy shite i got really into that, i'm so very sorry, if its too long please just say so.

peach i am in awe. this is just, holy fuck
lewis hamilton x race strategist!male!reader x nico rosburg
synopsis: it took them too long to realize how badly they messed up. good thing you are forgiving.
author's note: holy cow this got really long but peach, the details, all of it, was just amazing. you're so creative 🫶🏻 i am living for all this. i did slightly change somethings, i hope you dont mind! feel free to keep requesting!!!
it started out well
like really well
your strategies worked amazing, the boys were performing well
then it went to shit like most things
they started this bitter rivalry that made little to no sense to you
for a while, you thought it was your fault
maybe your stats and strategies weren't right
maybe you weren't doing good with you job
you thought that up until ferrari offered you a job as head strategist
thats when you knew it wasn't entirely your fault
you took the offer proudly
thats when it hit nico how much they took you for granted
you thrived in ferrari while nico and lewis were still fighting with each other
you distanced yourself from that and instead focused on your new job, where you were surpringly happy
like happier than you had been at mercedes (even if lewis and nico weren't there)
it took nico almost a full season to entirely realizes that him and lewis hadn't even attempted to talk to you since they team move
that hit him like a truck
he felt guilty, him and lewis both
they just show it in different ways
once nico finally wins his wdc, he is happy, just not as happy as he would've been if he were still close with you and lewis
he announced his retirement and almost immediately went to reconcile with you
he didn't want to keep things in deep shit with you
he missed you so so much
your smile, your laugh, just you in general
it started slowly with small talk over text before nico just finally apologized for absolutely everything, from essentially blaming you for his rivalry with lewis to ignoring you for almost a year
you apologized for ignoring him too and distancing
from then on, you guys talked every single day
day in and day out
every free minute you two had was spent talking and hanging out
slowly, you guys admit how long you have loved each other for a long time
then boom, you guys got together
but you kept it a secret as you wanted a quiet (or as quiet as possible) life
you still worked hard on strategies
nico was amazing at reporting
you guys were happy together
skip forward a good few years and lewis is so close to winning his seventh wdc
he finally seems to notice the small signs that you and nico were together
that empty feeling returned
he was missing a part of himself without the two of you
he slowly starts to piece together the big puzzle
first with how you and nico seemed to gave been a thing for a while
then how much he missed you guys
then the deep rooted feelings he pushed aside for far to long
then the realization of just how much he need the two of you in his life
he immediately started building up this huge, elaborate, straight from the heart, apology speech he would tell you when he got you guys alone
he already had a plan set in his mind
then he realizes he actually has zero fucking clue what the hell to do
so he goes to the only person he knows that knows anything about this type of situation: george mother fucking russell
of course, george's situation is a little different
he started dating alex first then they basically accidentally added logan into the mix
but the three seemed to be happier than the majority of the people he knew
so he had to take a shot at asking him
turns out, george gives pretty decent advise
so, before going on the date, he needed to patch things up between the three of you
george's words not his
but that's what he does
he convinces both you and nico to talk with him (even brings roscoe because who doesn't love the little chunky monkey?)
you each take turns explaining how you felt
you kick started it by talking about how hurt you had been, not only as a strategist but also they're friend; how you felt like you were to blame for everything; how you didn't feel like they wanted you around anymore
nico already knew all this stuff but he still felt incredibly guilty
imagine how lewis felt
then nico explains how isolated it felt, losing the two people he loved more than anything; how he was so focused on winning that he forgot what was important
for once in years, him and lewis were on the same page
after hours of apologies, catching up, and eventually confessions, things were back to how they used to be years ago
skip to the winter break where you felt like you guys no longer had to hide
you were caught by fans at a restaurant, sharing laughs and some kisses before leaving back to the car, huge grins plastered across your faces
these pictures are posted everywhere
no one is surprised though
ferrari had to have some words with you about pr, same with mercedes for lewis and then sky sports for nico
once again, yall didn't care
skip forward again to lewis announcing he is gonna race for ferrari
bro didn't even tell you and nico
he was just like: "oh by the way-"
you were excited
but you made a deal between the three of you that you would retire and lewis would, regardless of the outcome of the season
the season went well, not exactly how you wanted it but still good enough
your retirement set for the end of the season was announced pretty early on
lewis's was very nico core
just dropped the bomb after the last race
where he just so happened to both you and nico in public
even though he had done it tons of times before
it was still surprising though
suck on that fia

Hiiiii! I love the way you write and I saw your bingo so I wanted to ask you would you do a pânic attack headcanon with the Sbg gang?
Hi! I’m so glad you like the way I write! I’m warning everyone who reads this right now. Yeah I have had panic attacks before, but I haven’t had any in a long time so I’m sorry if this doesn’t match up very well with what a panic attack is like! Also there's a chance I'm gonna be writing a lot more for a while. I got suspended from school. So yeah!
Warnings: panic attack, mentions of deaths/injuries
SBG Main Six x Reader who has a panic attack.
Ashlyn:
This probably happened not to long into first going to the phantom dimension. So let's say you knew Ashlyn before hand and you were her only friend until the others showed up. Let's say that yall had just made it to the boys rooms not to long ago. You were freaking out cause like wtf why wouldn't you be there's literally demonic creatures after y’all.
You left the main room to head into the living room. You sat down on the couch away and out of sight. Trying to calm down. Ashlyn happened to notice your absence after Ben bandaged her up and she went looking for you.
Ashlyn notices you out of the corner of her eye and makes her way over to you. Ashlyn is a very observant person so she's quick to notice the signs of a panic attack, shallow breathing, trembling, etc. She's immediately went right up to you to make sure your alright. Though she stays a small distance away cause one she's not a touchy person and two a lot of people don't like to be touched when they have a panic attack.
Ashyln would probably have a basic idea on what to do as well idk she just gives me them vibes. She would speak to you in a soft tone trying to ground you. She would also try to distract you by saying things like "hey look at me. Breathe with me okay?" Or she'd do the 3 3 3 trick. For those that don't know the 333 trick is a thing for panic attacks it means 3 things you see, 3 things you hear, 3 things you feel.
Now as we know Ashlyn can be quite blunt. So she won't sugarcoat your guy's situation or how bad and weird it is. Though she can and will figure out a way to word it that reassures without sugarcoating it. Now after your panic attack Ashlyn would check in on you every now and then and make sure your alright.
Aiden:
This happened during Aiden's death. Not only did you freak out in the phantom dimension, but you also freaked out in the real dimension. You immediately jerked up and quickly make your way to Aiden. Who was shaking, as you tried to wake him up.
Of course as we remember Aiden had managed to pull through it and claimed to be okay. He looked around for a moment before his eyes focused on you. You looked like you were panicking BAD. And Aiden as he's most likely had panic attacks before was quick to recognize the signs of a panic attack.
Aiden would be quick to comfort you and would actually be really good at calming someone down as he dealt with a lot of emotional struggles in his life. He'll speak to you softly saying like like "breath, in through your nose, put through your mouth." Or he honestly probably knows some tricks like the 333 method or the 555 method.
Aiden as we know doesn't really seem to understand personal space all that well, but he remembers how when he has a panic attack he doesn't like being touched so he doesn't touch you. He would just try to help calm you down verbally. Unless you cling onto him, then he'll just place a comforting hand on your back or hold your hand.
Aiden is a very good distraction during well anything really. If you end up wanting a distraction or something to listen to don't worry he can yap forever. And he won't leave out a single detail. He'll tell you anything interesting he saw, crazy stupid stuff he's done, things he still wants to try. If you want silence he'll just sit there with you probably end up breaking the silence a lot while you cling onto him.
Ben:
This happened while everyone was in the graveyard. You had wondered off to get away from all the noise for a little while. Which ended up being a bad idea as you just ended up overthinking. This ended up making you have a panic attack, but not to fear Ben found you with your head on your knees. Now when Ben first approached you I feel like he probably scared you because of how quiet he is.
Ben was quick to take action when he realized you were having a panic attack. If anything or anyone comes over that you didn't want near you or to see you like this. He'd either have them move or lead you to a more quiet spot.
As we know Ben for the most part doesn't talk outloud so this will be one of the few times you hear his voice. He'd stay very quiet the whole time he talks practically whispering. Ben would honestly look up some breathing exercise video and do the breathing exercise with you.
Ben if your okay with it will give you a hug and like many other people have said Ben gives the best hugs. There always so warm and not to tight. After you calm down Ben would give you a moment to collect your thoughts and if you want to talk to him, he'll listen.
Logan:
This happened when Logan got hurt by the phantom in the bus. You were there with you Logan. You had managed to just barely move out of the way of the phantom, but that just made the phantom hit Logan instead as he was was next to you. After which the others killed the phantom. You and the others stared at Logan while he asked how bad it was. You were panicking cause your head wouldn't shut up about how it was your fault that you shouldn't have moved so that Logan wouldn't have gotten hurt. How it was on you, all your fault. This just caused you to panic BADLY. After a moment Logan would be able to tell you were showing signs of a panic attack.
At first Logans shock and honesty kind of panicked. He was also confused why were you having a panic attack. Not like that matters at that exact moment. He'd freeze for moment thinking about what to do, but his concern and the fact that Logan knows how to help people through panic attacks as he's had PLENTY.
Logan would hesitantly ask if your okay, being careful not to overwhelm you, but make sure you know he's there and that he isn't going anywhere. Logan wouldn't know exactly what to say in that moment, but he would eventually get out a soft, shy, hesitant "I'm here... your not alone in this..."
Since Logan has delt with panic attacks and anxiety, so he'd be aware of physical touch can be during a panic attack. If you allow him to he'll awkwardly hold your hand or rub your back. Logan 100% knows all the methods like the 33 3 method, the 555 method etc. You can count on him to rambling all about his interests if It will help calm you down.
Logan would feel guilty for not being able to stop your panic attack right away, but reminds himself that sometimes it just takes awhile to calm down. Logan after would use it as a learning moment to remember what helped you, what didn't help you, and what he could do better.
Taylor:
This happened one day while you were spending the day at the Hernandez's house. You were alone in Taylor's room by yourself and you were overthinking just panicking about the phantom dimension. Then you started panicking about a lot of things which triggered a panic attack. Taylor had happened walk in not to long later to you having a panic attack on her bed.
Taylor was quick to go check on you. If your fine with physical contact she'll hold hold both of your hands rubbing them gently with her palms. Taylor as we know is very sweet so she's quick to reassure you that everything's okay, she won't leave you, that your safe. Her voice is soft and warm.
Taylor would notice your breathing was off and make you do breathing exercises with her to try and help calm you down. Taylor would try to calm you down by distracting you with things you love or by just rambling about random things.
Taylor is a whole different person though if it was someone who sent you into a panic attack and is not against telling the person off. After your panic attack Taylor would stay near if you want her to. She'd tell you to rest and come cuddle with you if thats what you want
Tyler:
This happened at the hospital after Tyler woke up. You had been muttering to yourself pacing slightly in the waiting room. Yapping to yourself something about how you should have tried harder, how you should have known he was gonna fall, how you should have been there not Tyler. All this panicking triggered a panic attack to the point you didn't even realize Tyler there with the others.
Tyler's first reaction would be blunt and aggressive, which isn't ideal. He's a protective person he just doesn't really know how exactly to handle strong emotions, especially other people's strong emotions. He'd probably try to snap you out of it real quick by shaking you and saying "what the fuck is happening?! Snap out of it dumbass!" He doesn't mean anything by it he's panicking. Tyler would end up frustrated not at you, but with how he thought that was a good idea. Tyler if you allow him to get closer to you he'd either help you sit down or he'll guide you somewhere quieter
Tyler isn't a very comforting person so he's very awkward when he tries to comfort you. He wants to help you he really does he just doesn't want to look like a mess. Though Tyler isn't a very touchy person if it will help you calm down he'll do something small like pull you into his side, a hand on your shoulder, or if you'd prefer you can wear his jacket.
Tyler doesn't often show his emotions openly or really at all unless it's anger. Though if your ever about to have a panic attack or if you get badly anxious again he'll do small things for you to calm you down. He might even throw in a quick "stop overthinking, your fine."

FSBE 10 - I Won't Say It
The rogue has a sudden, horrifying realization.
On AO3.
Eleanor’s blood surges into Astarion’s mouth. It’s been days of nothing. A few remaining swills in old bottles, taken from vermin in the Underdark and grown tacky and coagulated. Days of uncertainty, the cold vice twisting in his guts, and the utter ruin and darkness around them. She would learn magic. She wouldn’t need him anymore. Would cast him aside.
But now she’s the first ray of sunshine after a terrible night. Pure, golden light burning away the haze of doubt, of fear, of everything that isn’t her warmth and her life. Even the acrid aftertaste of some worry in her can’t diminish the glory of her hot blood coating his tongue, his throat, his gullet.
She keens above him, grinds hard against his hand and rides her pleasure there. He tastes it. The height of her passion. The sweet, sweet ecstasy of her climax and he moans against her. Is barely aware of tugging his hand out of her trousers so he can clutch her, capture her to him.
The pleasure roils through them both. From her body and her blood into him. Their gasps indistinguishable. By the gods, he’s tasted her after, but during?
His cock aches, fully hard. Only marginally aware of how he ruts up against her. Both of them still clothed, but she’s so glorious, tastes so good. Her orgasm echoes back into him and he has to have more. Needs more. Grinds faster, faster against her, chasing after her even though his form is terrible, it’s hardly the practiced picture of eroticism and he must impress, must always maintain—
Her hand brushes his ear. It’s an accident, he thinks. He hasn’t told her about that. She’s simply got her fingers buried in his hair (finally), modesty abandoned as he laps at her neck. But her thumb brushes right up the side and it’s an erogenous area, certainly, but hardly enough to—
His belly pulls tight. Bollocks throb. Oh gods, he’s going to, can’t stop it, breaks off but it’s too late—
He spills right into his undergarments.
One moment of bliss. Hot pleasure snapping through him and the relief that follows.
And then the reality of the situation crashes down.
Eleanor straddles his lap. Her neck and shoulder smeared in blood. Iron and decadent life in his mouth, sticky over his lips and chin. She pants and shudders in his grasp, and he has both his hands on her plush hips.
The wet patch in his trousers.
Oh dear gods.
He barely restrains himself from shoving her off. Barely. Pulls back and she’s bright red. His own cheeks are…warm. He can’t remember the last time he flushed. Never had enough blood—just pieces of cockroach shell stuck between his molars. But now? Fed? Spilling into his trousers like an overeager, untrained boy?
“I,” he tries. “Ah.”
Untouched. Still clothed. Not even in service to a mark. He just…came.
Can’t afford that. Has never been an issue. A mistake. He’s made a terrible mistake and he cannot afford that. Not here. Not with her.
He doesn’t want to look at her. He usually prefers to do this from behind, so he doesn’t have to see their face, so they don’t kiss him more than he has to. Especially when they’re sweet. When they want to give back.
And now he’s made an utter fool of himself. She’ll know enough to work that out. She’ll be laughing at him. Which means all of camp will be laughing at him. The experienced lover, the seducer, the rake. With come in his trousers.
But he does. Look at her. Thoughts spinning, trying to come up with some excuse.
She…is not laughing. Still blushing. But almost, almost happy?
“You okay?” she says instead of hitting him or spitting mockery. He bites back a fake laugh. Instinctively smooths his face into something he hopes is pleasant. Chagrined, perhaps. “Terribly sorry, pet. I was, ah, overwhelmed, it seems.”
She does not sneer. She does not grab him by the throat and crack his head against the bed frame. She does not (cannot) summon Godey to teach him better manners.
She simply…smiles. Such a soft thing. Nearly bashful. Brushes one of his curls out of his eyes.
But he’s still sitting beneath her with come in his smallclothes. It’s going to become more disgusting the longer he sits there (the thought of her commanding him outside to show everyone what a pathetic mistake he is).
She does move, then, and he can’t help but tense. But she only leans in, and her soft lips brush over his forehead. She stays like that a moment, and he stares at the front of her throat. Then it’s her turn to pull away.
“Was that, um, okay? Me kissing you?”
It’s the type of thing lovers might do. Genuine. Tender.
He’s going to be sick.
“Of course, darling. But you should take a potion.” Because she’s still bleeding. “Because you’re still bleeding.”
Perfect. Something for her to focus on that isn’t him tucking his tail and getting out of there.
“Right.” She slides off and reaches for her pack.
He does not bolt (a near thing). Merely waits for her to find a potion and uncork it. And then gracefully (not at all grimacing) rolls to his feet.
“I’ll leave you to it, then,” he says. Gods. Even his ears feel warm. He’s being pitiful.
She nods. Glances once to his groin and then away.
His insides are cold again. Despite all the hot blood he’s lapped up. It’s from her. The way she looks at him. Her…her softness at him.
He heads for the tent flap.
“Astarion?” she says. Quiet. Hesitant. When he turns, “If you want, you could always stay the night? After, uh. Or not! Whichever.”
His face feels made of stone, but he forces a smile anyway. “Of course, darling.”
She relaxes. Looks so small and young and innocent. Hopeful. Because he’s her first. Because she doesn’t know better. Because she thinks this is real.
“Do excuse me, however,” he says. Finally claws his way outside.
The rest of camp sleeps. Or lies awake on their bedrolls facing away. No one is around to witness his shame as he darts for his own tent.
He doesn’t need to drink water, but he does require it to wash up. He has a skin in there for that very purpose. He all but dives into his tent, and then nearly shreds his trousers getting them off.
Stupid. Stupid. Pathetic little boy.
And her. A besotted…cow. To be so soft with him. Like he’s a thing wounded. A thing frightened. Like she could see his shame. How dare she. He’s using her, by the gods. And she’s too stupid to realize it. Their illustrious leader, their tactical alien. Too foolish to know better than to let a vampire into her neck, into her trousers. To think he desires her. To think this could be anything but what it actually is: a meal and a brief fuck.
She’s the pathetic one. Being used. And trying to be, ugh, kind to him. She deserves this. Deserves to be humiliated. Used up and cast aside once he no longer has use for her. That’s her role, even if she’s too naive to know it.
He scrubs himself. Scrubs his clothing.
That she did this to him. He can’t stand it. He imagines the way this will end. They’ll slaughter this Absolute cult and remove the tadpoles. Somehow, theyll have killed that bastard and he won’t need any of them anymore.
And then she’ll turn to him. Proud of herself. Thinking they’ve won. That he’ll sweep her off her feet and carry her into some sunset (that doesn’t burn him to ash). He will be her one, true love, happily for the ages like some cheap storybook.
But he’ll smile at her, on that day. And tell her everything.
Of course they didn’t have something more. That’s not who he is. This isn’t how the world works. And she’ll understand that all of this, all of it, was a lie. Her purpose will be served, and he’ll have no more obligation to her. He’ll be free.
And she
Her face. Her dark eyes and the way they light up when she finds him. She keeps herself so carefully blank. Holds herself in so tightly, he’s not sure any of the others have heard her genuine laugh. Have seen that sparkle in her eye. Heard her voice lift as she talks about some catastrophe or horrific plague.
She keeps herself to herself. He’s seen enough of her memories (and has sorted them out enough by now) to understand why. It’s very sensible. She’s done it as long as she can remember because it kept her safe. Until now. Until she, like an utter fool, invited in a vampire.
She let her guard down for him. Let him see past that mask she wears. Because she trusts him.
He imagines the future in which he explains, in detail, his victorious plan, and he imagines the way the light in her eyes would die. The way that terrible stillness would lock over her features. Because she, too, knows that showing pain is a weakness.
And it would be his doing.
His chest is tight. He instinctively inhales. Or tries to. It comes out a strangled wheeze and he curls in over himself. It…hurts.
Why? Why should he hurt? That’s the way the world is. He knows it. He thought her sensible enough to know it.
He manages a weak gasp. The pain only worsens. What the hells is wrong with him. Why should imaging her pain cause him to…
The thought flits along the edge of his mind. A falling star against the cold, uncaring sky. Everything around him seems to still.
No. No, that’s not…it can’t be. Ridiculous. Impossible. Not even he is that stupid.
But the thought doesn’t go away. It branches out, roots finding all the little cracks in his mind. The weeks of wondering, the way his dead heart wants to flutter when her gaze seeks him out and finds him across the camp and she gives that tiny, shy smile. The way her skin smells. The way she finally allowed herself to touch him tonight, and she doesn’t touch anyone but the owlbear cub. The life in her blood and the way it calls to him. Just for him.
No. Absolutely not.
The taste of her mouth. The warmth of her tent and her touch. The way she watches him when he talks, doesn’t even look away in boredom, never rolls her eyes (unless he makes a bad joke). The way she asks him things. And then listens to him.
The gentleness of her lips on his forehead even after he failed her and made a spectacle of himself.
He…wants.
“No,” he hisses.
But it’s too late. The thought has wound itself deep into him. Slithered into all the broken corners of his mind and it will not be dislodged.
“No.” The word comes out a sickly whine. Which turns into a choked laugh. A wretched giggle.
Astarion claws his fingers into his own hair. Folds over his knees. Sinks to the ground. Oh gods.
Oh gods.
