hi fon!! 🩵 I'm gonna be honest: this totally inspired me to finish writing a one-shot I had been working on for a few weeks :D. So this is just a small snippet of a 2k one-shot that I will be putting up on AO3 next week.

Pairing: Piers & Jill. Warnings for: unconsciousness.

When he finally sees her, his stomach drops. He picks up his pace, hands fumbling at his rig. He strains his eyes wider to see her face.

Pale, blank, staring up into the shaft towards where they had once been. 

He should let everyone know, he should tap that button and say the magic words, found her, and he should keep his channel open. 

“Hey, Jill, you with me?”

He comes down to where she hangs. She’s tipped back in her seat harness where her torso has gone slack. Her arms drape down with gravity, like the heat gun dropped and swinging from its tether below her. The momentum sways her body. 

His vision has tunneled. He blinks through it, strapping his light in place, trying to see what went wrong. When he grabs her rig to pull her in by her waist, she swings close without reacting. 

Someone is speaking—him, he thinks, going on autopilot. “Rise and shine, Valentine.” And he pats her cheek. There’s something in her bloodstream now, dark and purple and alarmingly obvious in her neck and lips. Her eyes are open and unblinking. 

Goddammit. He finally calls in. “Foster, put Airey on.” 

Immediately, the captain: “Piers—”

“Put Airey on! I need medical.” 

There’s an agonizing silence. He makes the most of it, all he can do. Pulling off his glove, he pushes his fingers against her neck to find her pulse. His fingers feel numb.

He assumed that the only other explanation to Four being able to split in Four was. That he was quadruplets who'd been hiding this whole time???

Also apparently he believed that his wolf companion Twilight in botw was a diety (and felt very uhh shocked upon finding out that he was not)

Malon made things worse, telling him about her aliens theory

What's even FUNNIER is that every time Wild expresses any sort of confusion at magic stuff that he's never seen before, everyone else in the chain acts like it's crazy for him to be weirded out by it

Honestly maybe Wild's the only one with his head on straight, rather than everyone else who are just like 'it's magic bro' like no he's right this is weird

I appreciate this because it's very considerate of the fact that he woke up with no memories not too long ago, so he doesn't have much experience to explain the stuff that's 'normal' for the chain. Plus the explanations he comes up with are funny.

As someone who hasn’t played the twst game very long I just got into it. I wanted to know about events? Like do some not come back? For example do the Masquerade, Port, Beanfest, Ghost bride, starsending events. Do those come back? I hear people say how they missed their chance to get this great card like as if it won’t ever come back and then someone on Reddit will say something like “Oh beanfest happened twice on the JP server” so which events have gotten reruns so far? I would ask about more recent ones like the Easter one but idk if it’s too recent to know if get rerun or if they clarify that it won’t come back? I was really sad to find out about the Silk outfits I missed out on when they visit the scalding sands. I also was really sad to find out i missed out on the anniversary cards because I didn’t play the game yet. I wish they would add the anniversary cards to the store at least…I want to be apart of the celebration :’)

I was looking in the shop and saw all the different groovy items you need to groovify event cards and this question just came to me so I had the urge to ask someone…

welcome to Twst! 🎉 it is a bit confusing to jump right into, especially because. they're not always consistent. :') it sounds like you're probably playing on Eng, which I'm less familiar with, but I'll try based on what I know! (I also don't always remember everything, so somebody please correct me if I get something wrong!)

first, I do recommend the Twst wiki.gg, which seems to stay pretty up-to-date on events for both the Eng and JP versions! it's a great resource for when you want to see if/when an event ran or rerun. in general, I believe that the Eng version only does reruns that have already happened in JP, so if JP has a rerun that hasn't happened yet in Eng, they should get it too eventually! on the other hand, I don't think either version has ever rerun an event more than once. :( BUT this doesn't mean you're entirely out of luck, because:

anniversary events (March for JP, January for Eng) will usually offer a chance to get both an older event SSR and an older birthday SSR in the shop, via buying a special item with exchange currency (which you get by doing pulls on the anniversary gacha, I think you need to do 100-150 pulls for enough currency to buy the item to exchange for an SSR). only SSRs though, and you're limited to one each (one birthday, one event). so if there's an SSR you REALLY want and it's already had its rerun, it's probably worth planning to save up some keys for!

as for actual reruns, they seem to come in a few different flavors:

straight-up rerun, no changes or extra cards

unchanged event story, with a new SSR of a character who wasn't in the story (e.g. Applepom Jamil)

slightly rewritten event story that includes a new SSR (e.g. Ghost Marriage, they don't seem to do this anymore though)

completely new event story that acts as either a sequel or alternate-universe version of the original (e.g. Beans Day part 2, Fairy Gala IF) (though this is pretty rare and might actually count as a separate event, rather than a rerun?)

Master Chef/Culinary Crucible events have never gotten reruns (though they might start now that we've finally gotten through all the characters in JP, time will tell). birthday and Halloween events will also rerun the previous version in addition to the new one -- for instance, Eng should be getting a Glorious Masquerade rerun this year, followed by the new (Playful Land) Halloween event. and a birthday campaign will, in addition to the new card, have a separate pickup for the previous year's birthday card.

for the specific ones you mentioned -- I think Beanfest, Ghost Bride, Fireworks, and Starsending have already rerun in Eng, so those most likely will not be rerun again (at least not anytime soon). Masquerade should be coming back for you guys this Halloween, and Portfest JUST got its rerun in JP, so that should be coming too sometime in the future! (no new SSR though, alas, I was really hoping for a little marching band sailor boy Leona. 😔) the Easter event is the White Rabbit Fest, right? that one hasn't gotten a rerun in JP yet either, so it's still on the table!

all that said, it's entirely possible they'll change the rules at some point and start doing more reruns/chances to get older event cards, especially since the game's been going on for a few years now and some cards haven't been available for a pretty long time! there's only one card that they said was for-realsies limited-time-only and wouldn't ever be available again -- Platinum Grim, since he was to celebrate the 100th anniversary -- so. there's always a little bit of hope for everything else. :D (fairy gala Ortho PLEASE COME BACK SOB)

Marrying Mizu was the happiest day of your life, especially since she fought for your hand against some nobleman. You tend to stay at home for often than travel with her, but she always made sure she’d come back to you whatever the situation might be.

You’ve met her friends—Taigen, Akemi, and Ringo—and you’ve found them to be very..well interesting in their own ways. Personally, you didn’t like Taigen, perhaps because he always tried to fight Mizu right after she got stitches over some wound.

You were sewing beside the fireplace, waiting for Mizu to get back from the city because she had to go pick up something and your home was a bit far away from the city. This was how life was usually, you would tend to her wounds and cook food while she cleaned up the house and went on errand runs for you while also defending you whenever needed. It may not be as fancy as it was before, but you both were happy.

“I’m home, my love,” Mizu said as she opened the door, the bag of groceries and other things you told her to get in hand. You hummed and nodded, turning around and smiling at her while she puts away the things.

She sat down right behind you, legs encasing yours and trapping you with her arms around your waist while she laid her head on your shoulder. “I got something for you,” Mizu murmured as she took something out of her pocket. It was a beautiful gold hair pin with pink flower petals and a matching hair comb. You gasped, taking it from her hands and admiring it.

“Mizu! Wow, you know you don’t have to do that for me, I’m already happy with what I’ve got,” you said as your fingers trace the pink blossoms on the hair pin, admiring the pink and red gems embedded on it as well.

“You do know I’m going to ignore you every time you say that, right?” Mizu rolled her eyes as she nipped your neck, earning her a light smack on the thigh as she chuckled and playfully gave your thigh and a squeeze. “I’m serious, my love. I don’t care what you say, I’m buying you gifts I know you’d like.”

You rolled your eyes, scolding her for spending so much money on you when you told her she didn’t have to do that. You were fine with what you have, especially because Mizu was by your side. But Mizu insisted, and she eventually wore you down. “Ten seconds to go eat your dinner before I chase you around with a wooden stick,” you threatened as she attempted to tickle you.

“Alright, alright, m’lady!” Mizu chuckles as she stood up and walked over to the table and sat down with you by her side. Your cooking was always the best, especially after a long night of working and being outside. “Love you, darling”

“Love you too, Mizu.”

Now I realized we're always comforting the segments since the time of their life is depressing, but we never comfort Prime himself. The one who experienced everything. Reading the Zeta fic honestly broke me, I just want to go up to Prime and hug him and pamper him and everything.

The segments are from one point in Dottore's life. One phase. They don't usually stray from the personality or actions they've had during that time. Perhaps that's why you found it easier to comfort them, as they never left that state, and you could read them better. But Prime, he is a culmination of all of them, he is them and yet he is not at the same time. He has a bit of all of them ingrained in him and yet he's not the same as them.

The more you get to know about the segments, the more you indirectly get to know about Prime as well. On the very rare occasions you get to see the segments being vulnerable, your heart aches not only for them but for Prime as well. At least the segments now have you for comfort and reassurance, but who did Dottore have back then? He had no one, only faced with the reality of your sleeping body daily. When the realization hits you, it just hurts you... really bad. Prime never shows any weakness - he's always cunning. Intimidating. Manipulative. Around you he was confident. Teasing. Bold. One could never guess how he felt all those years ago. You could have never guessed, and you know him better than anyone.

You don't even know how to bring up the topic, you imagine that even if you try he'll brush it off and change the subject. That was simply the man he was - he'd never admit to such things, at least not without a lot of nudging, (and you meant a lot.) Instead, you settle with making sure that he knows you're here now, and that you're always going to be with him. You randomly hug him throughout the day (even if he does get a bit annoyed at times.) Nuzzling your cheek on the top of his head, into the soft fluff of his hair, arms gently but firmly wrapped around him as he questions your sudden presence, shuffling through paperwork, but you remain silent as your grip tightens.

You don't even care if the position is uncomfortable, you just hold him and hope to transfer your feelings to Dottore somehow. You don't care how weak you are, if you can do something to make him less stressed you'll do it. Cooking his favorites to pampering him in the bath (the lazy way he lays on you while you wash his hair, it's almost as if he's going to crush you) to even organizing his office just the way he likes it without him knowing. You mumble sweet things into his ear while he gives you that look at the almost nauseating cheesiness, you kiss his scars and rub your hands over his calloused areas.

You don't care about anything. You just want to provide some comfort to him. It's the least you can do, after everything you've caused in the last few centuries.

anyway people on mdl, and even just general bl watchers that dont watch jbls for whatever reason, will always make me feel a little ... bewildered. they will say things like "japan only makes slice of life/food centered/cute/puppy love bls and thats it" (when i can eaaaasily list off so many darker themed jbls but ok ig yall arent looking and when you do, suddenly its ~too dark~? but ok.). they call segasaki and ritsu and kijima "red flags" and okay yeah *hand waves* whatever, they are. and good for them that they are!!! gooood. see? japan doesnt just make fluffy. but yall couldn't even handle them! whilst in the same breath saying that japan doesnt produce more of these kinda characters and more spicier stories (and they do but yall arent loooking!!!) and when they do and when they start showing the sliiiightest bit of obsessive possesive behaviour, they're squirming uncomfortable in their seats!!! people couldn't even stomach shows like taikan yohou. taikan yohou. and thats like. my favourite show of all time and its not even That Bad yall. ohmygod. but oh no! "oh poor yoh!!! whatever will he do now!!!! trapped in segasaki's enclosure!!!! i don't like this power imbalance beteeen them!!!!" when THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT, my friend!!!!! and yoh enjoooooys that and when he doesnt he says it out loud that he doesnt!!!

so! people couldn't even stomach taikan yohou. god knows WHAT they will say about happy of the end and love is like a poison that will be coming out soon! and never mind even going near sei no gekiyaku or koi kogare utae bc if they thought taikan yohou was "~dark~" when it barely even touched the surface! then sei no gekiyaku and koi kogare utae? will have their heads Gone, spiralling, trying desperately to find a light switch and some bleach to erase their memory!!!!

I think the dissonance between you and the anons comes from the fact that you do see shipping potential with other characters their age but not bkdk, if that makes sense? Like you can see other pairings through a shipping lens so why not bkdk also (I’m not saying you have to, I’m just assuming people see it as a double standards of sorts)

which i would understand if i hadn't stated multiple times that i am not rejecting any romantic reading at all whatsoever, so i don't know why people act like i am, especially when i retweet ship fan art occasionally like why is this so serious to some people help

but to spell it out, i do not enjoy throwing bakugo and deku into silly ship scenarios as easily as i do in other constellations because their canon relationship is more complex and my opinions on their dynamic are more nuanced and deeper than my opinions on their friendships with other characters. the implications of 17yo bakugo asking deku out on a date differ from the implications of someone like rody asking deku on a date and i don't rlly feel like ignoring that.

i do think that deku had a crush on bakugo as a kid and he does carry some of that into their teenage years and makes everything more complicated like i am not denying that, which is why im confused by people who accuse me of having a double standard when my own interpretation and fan art more often than not hinges on this assumption. just because i don't see bakugo recognize or reciprotate any of that does not mean they can't have that one day, throwing them into that as teens just goes against the reading that i'm very commited like it's not that easy (the love thing), or i wouldn't want it to be that easy it doesn't feel right to me
