I got a rahkshi recently and wanted to draw it so here's this - kind of an experiment with studying a real life object and how to pose it into a interesting composition and then replicating the lighting I got tired of rendering this partway through however :P

i am sooooo excited for circes island on the pjo show bc there are sooo many options for what to do w leah’s hair

ive seen ppl say they should do leah’s natural hair/an afro but i think they should wait for one of the later seasons to do that because in either botl or tlo percy makes a comment about how annabeth has stopped trying to brush out her curls and has started letting them be curly (and obsessing over how good she looks) and i feel like that would be the perfect time to do an afro

instead i think they should so some type of braid for circes island (warning i’m not black so idk like what any of these hairstyles are called) but i think something like one of these would be better

the top left one is what i think leah has rn so they might do that one. but i think jade braids (without the coloring bc most of the ones i’ve seen are dyed or is that what makes it jade braids??)/hair beads would be perfect bc idk about yall but i feel like that fits into the vibe of circes island yk??

Something I really wish new parents would understand (and parents in general, but I find it especially egregiously egotistical coming from parents whose oldest is like. Still in diapers) is that -- honestly, it really does not matter how you raise your kid. You can encase them in gender roles and take them to church every Sunday before they can even talk, you could pray with them every night as you tuck them in. You have influence, but you lack God's power to dictate a preordained fate. The arrogance, to think that you could. If I didn't find it so sickeningly revolting, I would laugh. You're vain, you're vapid, you're small-minded and naive. Do you REALLY think, You, of ALL people, are gonna be the one who "does it right"? That I, an entire human being standing before you, am simply a reflection of my parents' failures? Society's failures? My own failures? Salò thoughts ten days after watching it because I’ve finally processed it.

the four fascists calling themselves ‘the true anarachists’, nominally advocating for social freedom, praising ‘sodomy’ for its subversive nature and ability to collapse social and moral boundaries, art and aestheticism to facilitate their activities — all of it building up to posit that all acts are morally neutral in and of themselves & that their morality is dependent on who propagates them, in what context, and to what effects. brilliant and devastating. very in line with the bibliography at the beginning of the film.

the musician(?) was my favourite character for her role in the story: choosing hollow humour to drown out her brief moment of outspoken horror during the wedding + her ‘suddenly’ realising the gravity of the situation and ending her life were a good representation of apathy that does not exempt one from complicity.

the closing scene and the dream of Marguerite outside of all this horror but still connected to it. I want to kms
