Quick ask, does anyone else feel like the romance plot between Kaoru and Kiryu was rushed? Re-watched a play through of YK2 and it felt like there was some potential, but it was just thrown in. Especially when they had their first kiss oh my lord.

Like dude Kaoru is grieving the loss of her father (who she found and lost in less than 24 hours), and NOW you decide to kiss her??? I know that when you grieve, you don't really think straight, but to me, it felt really icky. No "sorry for your loss" or "I'll be there for you no matter what" but just "promise me you'll come back"? Please RGG let Kaoru have her space 😭. AND AT KAMUROCHO HILLS AS WELL? Oh yeah we're about to die so let's make out in front of your dead brother and my child, even though we could make it out alive.

Then again, this game is the last we see of Kaoru because RGG barely knows how to write women, let alone romance, so their relationship barely stood a chance. It could have been great but they rushed it and now we have whatever the hell this is.

Side note because it might get brought up; even though I'm a Kazumaji shipper, I genuinely wanted this to work out in terms of cannon. Again, it could have been great, but it went too fast, and now Kaoru is gone. RGG is great at doomed/forbidden romance but shit at actual romance.

I think the problem you are having with all the replies, is you're using the ship name (g h 0 u I c y, i'm censoring it as well, because tumblr search also searches anon question content) and your posts are literally showing up in the tag for shippers who are just minding their own business trying to look for content, only to be met with some really heavy accusations of condoning abuse/racism. Obviously this upsets them. If you don't want to get replies from Those People, you should be mindful that you're not using the space that they use to look at the ship.

I never said that I was accusing these people of CONDONING abuse or racism?? I said the ship was abusive and that there could be underlying/subconscious racism. Black love interests have always been seen as less desirable by fans and get pushed aside for a white character. Idrc if me saying that offends people.
