like my spanish knowledge or lack thereof is rly funny coz i never learned it formally i just picked it up from a tv show i binged but my brain sectioned off a whole new corner just for spanish so i CAN switch to spanish like i would for other languages (in fact after the whole tv show debacle i spent days not being able to switch away from spanish mode and thus not understanding what ppl were saying coz my brain kept interpreting both english and hungarian as spanish and refused to process it any other way) but my vocab is like nonexistent so the grammar and the will is there but the knowledge is not. EXCEPT that the show was la casa de papel aka a show about bank robberies so most of the vocab i do know is related to that. so like i can say robber or hostage or gold or kill her or shut the fuck up but until i got here i didnt know how to like, say good evening

I want to buy a sticker from your shop, but shipping (to Canada) is down as $22 before tax. May I ask why it costs so much to ship a single sticker? Is it Etsy being weird, or does it really cost that much to send an envelope over the border?

I'm not trying to be snarky or passive aggressive or anything, I'm genuinely just kind of befuddled atm.

A fair question honestly! USPS sets the rates for international shipping, and shipping to canada really is about that expensive 😭 I considered sending stickers via envelopes, but 1. if I send them with a stamp (less than $2) they don't have tracking, and etsy Does Not Like That. I gotta send packages with shipping to qualify for star seller, plus it covers your ass in case USPS loses it. and 2. apparently it's illegal to send merchandise internationally in envelopes!! so sadly we're all stuck dealing with the super crazy international rates. I don't like it either because as someone who deals in trinkets, people generally do not want to pay $16 for a charm that costs $12, and they especially don't want to pay that for a sticker that costs $4... I would ABSOLUTELY have way more international sales if USPS wasn't fucking us with the prices but it's out of my control dssdjkfjksdf

I give this advice a lot, but if you don't want to pay international shipping (or just live in a country I don't ship to myself), you can borrow the address of a friend that lives in the states and they can forward it to you! I don't actually know if this is cheaper, but some people have said it is. it's def cheaper for stickers though if your friend uses a stamp!

TL;DR yeah etsy and USPS are Both Weird, sorry ; - ; i assure you i hate it even More than you do lmao

hi! What's your opinion on different phighters?

hello! i've made a little* list of my thoughts on each of them. (*//it's not little! it's a lot longer than i expected,,, looked shorter when i was drafting it during school. soo ya it's under the cut)

skateboard - pretty great guy! as well as a surprisingly hard hitter! it's fun to take him on in duels. biograft - subspace's wild creation. i don't like them much, but i have to admit that they put up a good fight. katana - nice guy and all, but he doesn't seem to get that i can be just as great as him. his blade is not better. fun to fight, but tough. he will not let up until his target has been properly defeated. ban hammer - not that great. he believes that he's just better, and assumes too much about me. i have similar opinion as i do with katana when it comes to dueling. i hate to admit that he's a tough one to defeat. it's even worse that he's blindfolded all the time! rocket - my best friend!!! love spending time with him! he's also very capable in battle, albeit a little reckless. i can't say much though, i get myself into trouble a lot. slingshot - it's terrible getting picked off by him in battle, but he's genuinely a nice guy outside of it! his cafe is always worth a visit if you're near crossroads. hyperlaser - i don't know much about him at all, but i respect him. he's an extremely capable sniper. he doesn't see how great my gear is, though. shuriken - he seems nice, but he's akin to a pest in battle. can't really keep him from getting behind you and catching you off guard for a cheap takeout. scythe - i know even less about her. i've yet to properly introduce myself to her. she seems courteous to some other phighters, but i'm not sure how she'll greet me. rocket doesn't seem to like her whatsoever. she's a true threat in battle if left unchecked. medkit - always an amazing demon to be friends with, despite his constant lack of excitement. he's almost like a brother to me, really. we've been through a lot! boombox - i like his style! he's a good support to have on the team as well as someone to just chat with. his shield can be a pain but i respect the need to protect yourself and your teammates. subspace - i don't like him. he's an overconfident nuisance. i know a fair bit about him due to med, and he lives up to the description med gave. he doesn't put up a fair fight in battle, unfortunately. vine staff - she's alright! however, i feel like she's a little too concerned about me, asking about my gear and such. she can trust me to take care of myself!

the way the fandom like. makes all these angsty art pieces and jokes and animatics of Wukong doing a murder and people in the comments go "ow! how could you" or "the angst is getting to me" or "haha! wukong did a murder!"

and then if you ever take that (somewhat widely accepted) concept and put it into a realistic context and like. act as if it actually happened, oh no, you can't do that! we can't have Wukong doing a wrong!

so like, what do people want? Do we just want the murder to be played up for laughs, or are we actually gonna acknowledge it? because imo, treating it simply as a joke and ignoring it otherwise is Not the move.

People really don't seem to get that regardless of whatever feelings they have about Daniel, he's in Dubai because of Louis. Think of him however you like but he said it plainly, "hire a transcriber. I don't do puff portraiture anymore". Louis had the complete option of simply not contacting him, simply letting Daniel die in his own oblivion and irrelevance that even Daniel himself points out.

"Legacy? That's for board members and assholes in loafers". Armand doesn't seem to want Daniel in Dubai either because of what Louis may want Daniel to do (publish a book, risk other vampires to come after him). So for all the questioning and sarcasm Daniel throws at Louis, he's still an old man in his 70s with a developing disability, locked in a penthouse apartment with no way out with two old vampires who are more than capable of tearing him to shreds. That's his choice but it's also Louis' choice to even have him there. If Louis didn't want the sarcasm, the bitterness, the relentless questioning and invalidation of his (blatantly constructed) narrative, he wouldn't have taken to asking Daniel to interview him again. If this was solely about Armand, Louis' life story has absolutely zero to do with whatever went down with Armand and Daniel. Louis has followed Daniel's work, has read his autobiography. He knows Daniel's work even has a motif of unreliable memory that becomes obscured with time (or another vampire's mind-bending ability). Again, Daniel is in Dubai because of Louis. No one is demanding he continue an interview with an old mortal man whom he could just as easily kill with no one questioning anyone else about it afterwards. Daniel is of no importance to even his own family now, yet Louis still wants their interview to continue. Frankly for all of Daniel's dismissive comments, Louis has had every opportunity and chance to kill him already or shut him up, have his mind wiped and send him home. The fact that he doesn't is more glaring than anything else.

If you're writing on mobile, the way to create a read more is to type: :readmore: and then hit enter after. Make sure you don't have a space after the second colon, because it won't work then.

OOC: You know, I'm re-reading Surge/Kit's introduction arc and I'm noticing something

long winded rambling ahead!

That if Sonic had actually stopped and listened to what Surge was saying when they both initally meet, I feel like Surge could've possibly been reasoned with. Especially when you take into account that that's what's hes done previously with former foes who were able to be talked down like this.

Surge had Starline's personal opinion on Sonic practically forced on her and that's basically all that she knew as that was all that she was told and taught about him. If Sonic was allowed to give her an ounce of empathy at the -start- of this arc, rather than at the end, they could've been on a path towards a solution. Instead, Sonic actually does what Starline did and completely went on to ignore her thinly-vieled vent in regards to what happened to her because of his (I don't wanna say carelessness, more so along the lines of...naviety?) view on second chances, and patronizes her in regards to his "solution" to his problem: telling her she has a "choice" to choose how she carries herself while also telling her in no uncertain terms that she either does it his way (aka: have another person impose his will on her) or he's not going to pull his punches if she chooses poorly (lowkey threatens her really). And repeatedly insists on this with every encounter they have after.

this goes on to reaffirm Surge in her belief's on what Starline forcibly taught her, and her own personal trauma in regards to her "creation" that she's extremely but clearly Not Very Ok about. It essentially just pushes her over the edge of no return and solidifies her resolve to see the world burn, because it BURNED her.

After Sonic learns the gravity of what Starline did, and only after, is when he actually stops and tries actually talking to her with a semblance of understanding and empathy. Which means diddly-squat to Surge (and Kit!) because of a horrific first impression that left her feeling like a cornered animal who can't trust anyone, no matter how well meaning, and desperately trying ANYTHING (modding herself with the dynamo cage to the point of risking self harm) to get the slightest reprieve from it all.

TL;DR: this all couldve been avoided if yall got surge and kit therapy after hearing them out >:/
