Tbh it's a stress I would have regardless of anyone asking me about it, I'm probably the biggest one rushing and guilting myself on it. Which might contribute to some of the burnout I had...

My complaints are more about people who are demanding "more content daddy" or asking me if I'm dead or asking on every single post I make where it is... Wondering when it's coming back is completely reasonable, it's been a long time! but there's definitely a line haha

my editor also keeps randomly scheduling me and then saying "oh, btw you're scheduled to return in 3 weeks. Is that alright?" And I have to keep saying no, that's not alright??? And then dealing with that process...

I could write an essay about all the reasons it's not back yet, but that doesn't help me feel any less pressured, and it doesn't help you all get the rest of the comic any faster...

As of right now I'm scheduled to and trying to return october 21. No official announcement yet cause I have to do a lot of work in that time, but it's my official goal at least. When we get closer I'll be able to say for sure whether it's coming back on that date!

gojo x gn!reader | he’s NOT on the battlefield he is somewhere being whiny and dramatic RIGHT NOW. no one can tell me otherwise.

gojo stares at you from his spot on the couch, a pout etched on his face as you continue to type away at an assignment due in more than a week. something due 10 whole days away has taken priority over him—he pouts even harder at the thought.

“i can feel you staring at me, satoru.”

“i don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“mhm.”

there’s only a few minutes of silence when your phone suddenly vibrates. without sparing it a glance, you switch between tabs, trying to find a specific quote for your answer. satoru huffs from behind you, and another notification comes in.

“y’gonna check that?”

“check what?”

your phone vibrates again.

“that.”

and you’re not dumb. you have a feeling your boyfriend is very aware, probably even more aware than you about what that notification could be.

“no?”

it vibrates again.

“are you sure?”

another.

“pretty sure.”

and after a couple of seconds, another.

“…actually, you know what, ‘toru,”—you pick up your phone, and satoru sits up ever so slightly, before you swipe down the bar to turn on do not disturb—“you’re right.”

“babe,” he drags out the pet name, “what if it was important?”

“and what if it was my classmates being idiots in the group chat again?”

“it’s not!”

at his denial, you spin your chair around, an accusatory—yet amused—expression on your face. “and how would you know?”

“because no one else is working on an assignment due in more than a week on a saturday afternoon except you, because apparently i’m dating the biggest nerd ever,” satoru complains, letting himself slide half off the couch, leg thrown over the top.

putting your hand over your chest, you gasp. “the biggest nerd ever? you wound me.”

“you wounded me first when you downloaded that assignment pdf instead of checking my texts!”

“well now i’m never opening that text from you.”

“why no—” he stops, and you stare, and he squints and quietly replies, “…i hate you.”

a lie through and through that finally gets you to laugh, just a little, before picking up your phone, where a photo of the both of you greets you as your lockscreen. “i’m kidding, ‘toru. but seriously if it’s something stupid i’m going to the library.”

“nothing i send you is ever stupid.”

you shake your head and go to open your messages. “i’m not even going to try to argue with you on that.”

you think maybe it won’t be that bad—the thumbnail a photo of a white cat—and satoru watches you intently when he hears the audio start to play. ”top ten things you should pay more attention to. starting with number one—me.”

you blink.

the video loops.

“seriously, toru?”

“c’s get degrees. satorus need constant attention or they’ll die.”

you snort—maybe you’d take him more seriously if he wasn’t practically upside down.

“they’ll die! i’ll die! do you want me to die?”

“not on my couch, no.” you respond, standing up.

“oh, alright, apologies, my heart, for not taking your feelings into consideration. i’ll die on your laptop so you’re forced to face the consequences of your actions more directly then,” he says, sarcasm rolling off of him in waves, even as you make your way toward him.

“oh, thank you so much, my love, i’d greatly appreciate it.” you huff as you do your best to pull him back up to lie on the couch.

satoru lies on his back, arms crossed over chest, strands of hair messy across his forehead.

he says nothing as you stand above him.

yet despite his attitude, he lets you run your fingers through his hair to fix it, leaning in ever so slightly into the warmth of your palm. you pout at him endearingly. “okay, you’re right, i can work on the assignment later. i’m sorry for not giving you attention and ignoring your texts.”

“and?”

you quirk an eyebrow, trying to rack your brain for what else you could have done. “and…implying you could ever send me something stupid?”

“…apology accepted.”

“can i lie down with you now?”

satoru shifts as far as he can. “as long as my back is to the couch so you can’t push me off.”

“woah, woah, woah, okay, that was an actual accident, and you already accepted my apology for that! i even ordered food,” you remind him, maneuvering beside him so you can fit and wrap your arms around his torso.

he pulls your head to rest on his chest. “doesn’t mean i can’t stay on guard from now on.”

“oh, whatever,” you mumble, breathing in and noting the scent of his new cologne that he got a few days ago—the one he got because you said you liked it.

a hand comes up to rub the nape of your neck, and you melt further into him. satoru mutters, ”you’re not leaving until dinner now as compensation.”

“what if i have to pee?”

“i’ll follow you to the washroom.”

“inside?”

“you wanna hold hands at the doorway?”

“not particularly, no, actually.”

“maybe romance really is dead.”

you laugh into the fabric of shirt where you can feel his chest rumble with his own laughter, and your heart flutters as you feel satoru smile against you. he's warm, and his lips soft as they kiss your forehead, when you think maybe your work can wait a few days to really start.

I am shaking with rage.

After my many unpleasant encounters with women these past few days (anon hate, mother being a pest) I updated my DNI to include women. I take my DNI very seriously and expect people offline to respect my boundaries as well. Naturally, the females in real life have been making this Incredibly. Fucking. Difficult. Fine, I will simply find more Males and Non Binaries to follow on tumblr and continue blogging in my female-free space to avoid their complaining and their feminism. I begin to scroll through the blogs of people I am following to see if the people they reblog from are not pesky women, so that I may follow those people as well.

When lo and behold, I see an intruiging post on one such blog about vultures (death and all things related to it captivate my twisted mind). I see it was reblogged from someone who, in their description, refers to themselves as a "Mr. Strange." I am delighted to find a male, and even more delighted to find someone with a strange and dark mind similar to my own. I scroll for a bit and. What's this? A screenshot with a youtube channel, the same name as this tumblr user.

The screenshot contains a Woman, but I assume this to be a guest on Mr. Strange's channel, at best. Certainly not a fellow host, and certainly not Mr. Strange himself.

I venture to the Youtube Channel. The female is on every thumbnail. My hands close into fists. Right before I fly into a rage, I remember a crucial piece of information: The Transgenders! This is clearly just a Transgender Male who dresses in a feminine manner. Why else would this person go by Mr. Strange? I smile to myself, relieved. I'm sorry, Mr. Strange for mistaking you for a female.

I was mistaken. After many confusing videos and video titles, I realize that Mr. Strange is not their name. It is a joke. A mockery of us men. I have been unknowinly watching. A woman. For hours. I am so enraged, and I am lucky that my boyfriends (K and J) are here to calm me down or I would go dark mode fucking permanently. Men, be warned: the woman's account is Strange Aeons. If you see a "Mr. Strange," remind yourself: A WOMAN.

WOTFI IS HERE!!!!!!! WHOOO!!!!!!

I'M SO SORRY I'M LATE! But! I watched it after the livestream countdown, and, BOI! Do I have a lot to say!! and I'll make a part 2 of the WOTFI review cause, I don't think I'll be able to fit everything in one post. And with a lot of school projects on the line. So, I'll work on pt 2! and post it tomorrow!

First off the thumbnail looks AMAZING!!!!! It really got me excited as soon as I woke up at 1 in the morning lmao😂

As soon as I watched it I was actually surprised they decided not to go with the horror route like in the trailer.. But personally, I'm not gonna complain I mean that should've been expected imo.

Also, the poster is soo fricking cool!!!! Like, I can't get enough of this art style and THE WAY IT WAS ANIMATED WAS LIKE A MOVIE INTRO!!!! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!✨

The intro/Puzzles' backstory

So, I'm glad that Mr Puzzles gave us a more clearer explanation to his backstory. Even though it was something a lot of us knew already. None the less it was nice! I'm curious about the mother though, like, what was she like to Puzzles? Was she someone who didn't believe in her son's dreams as well? Or maybe someone who encouraged him to keep trying? Idk honestly, but maybe we'll get that answer in next year's WOTFI!

I also don't think he just sat in his room all day to adulthood, maybe he left his home to chase his dream but failed on multiple occasions. (Kinda like in the series where he tries to kill the crew but fails all the time) or, he watched TV all day as a coping mechanism. Trying to escape the cruelty of the world he lived in.

Also, wdhm when he said "The rest is history" like, we need more. Like how you got godlike powers? maybe that'll be explored more in WOTFI 2025!

Side note: Leggy's face when she dropped little Puzzles was funny for some reason help! IT HAD NO REASON TO BE THIS FUNNY!!😂😂

HE SWORE!!!!! YESS!!!!!!!! I swear he needs to let his anger out more, You gotta give kudos to him for enduring Mario's chaos😂

The casts!

I really LOVED the character designs! I can see how they are freaks now!

My all time favorites are SMG3, Bob, and Karen! They're designs stick out the most in the cast and I do like how they are all under Puzzles' control, like the PV movie!

Wish Saiko had more screen time though, I'm just a little disappointed at that. They could've done something interesting for her. Heck, they even gave the rest of the main cast more screen time than her.

But, maybe we'll see that in the next WOTFI? Hold up- wait a sec, I'm seeing a pattern of sorts... are, the stuff that felt lackluster in the 2024 WOTFI coming back as something better in WOTFI 2025?? That could be a possibility. I might make a theory on that, but hopefully when I'm not busy.

Side note: I swear this episode made me ship Mario and Puzzles so much!!😂😂 I mean- It's just hilarious to me!

Like when he said "Dear Mario" I know he hates him but like the way he says it made it feel like he likes him, or just toying with him!! Marware fans are eatin' good today! And he also complimated Mario on his performances on the fire perfomance!!! I know... he was doing what a judge does, try say something nice to the performers. But! That won't stop me from shipping them! And don't forget! Mario also still wanted to stay despite the hell Mr Puzzles put them through, in the rap Mario still wanted to have some fun in the amusment park! But, also glad he attacks him when Puzzles harms Mario's friend. And can be scared of him sometimes.

Now listen, I know he was trying to get Mario back so he won't ruin his show again but to me it also looks like he wants Mario to pay attention to him! kinda like a yandere😂😂 I'm just letting Marware infect my brain at this point haha.. it's becoming a curse.

Anyway that's part 1 for now. Part 2 will hopefully come out tomorrow as well, and I also have some projects to do so I know I said I will post every Saturday but that may be a little difficult, I'll get part 2 out tomorrow and I really hope that'll be the end of my review of this year's WOTFI!

"Same time next week?" Marinette asked Luka as they stopped on the sidewalk, ready to part ways. She leaned up and grabbed his shoulder for support, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Mhm," he hummed affirmatively, kissing her cheek in return. "Looking forward to it."

It had become their routine by now, and Marinette loved the idea of having a routine. It represented a sense of stability, consistency, and (most importantly) getting to spend time with her boyfriend. She knew the feeling of his lips on her skin, his warmth banishing her cold, and fingers caressing her cheek.

She also knew the feeling of him taking her hand and the corners of a box gently pressing into her palm soon after.

"Oh." She looked down, turning the present in her hands as she asked, "F...for me?"

Luka frowned, hearing the nervousness in her voice. "Is something wrong with it?"

"N-no! No, not at all! Not even a little!" She whined, now fidgeting with it rather than simply examining it. "But... I don't know if I really deserve it, and—"

Her words were cut off by her own squeaking as Luka held her bangs to the side in order to give her a loving kiss on the forehead. She met his gaze, seeing only his affectionate staring back.

"You deserve everything, Marinette," he told her with a smile, "every note of the song."

She swallowed as she watched him go, a blush on her face and her feet rooted in place until he turned a corner, going completely out of her sight.

Finally, she bit her lower lip, almost crushing the gift with worry as she finished in her head, And... this is the tenth thing you've given me this month.

Marinette couldn't stop her leg from bouncing as she watched Kagami look over the various gifts with a discerning eye. Luka had gotten her an entire range of gifts from a cute tea mug shaped like a sheep, to special glasses for eye strain whenever she worked late nights on her website's design, to plushes that matched the cat one on her bed. Of course, she knew she shouldn't complain about being showered in gifts by a doting boyfriend, but there was an underlying worry as well.

Kagami, standing and holding the gifted flower necklace to the light, confirmed as much. "These definitely aren't cheap. He must've found a quality store."

Marinette groaned, hunching over until she was laying her upper body on her legs, arms slumped down toward the floor. "I was afraid you'd say that."

"I'm afraid I don't understand," Kagami said, the eyebrow raise evident in her tone even if Marinette couldn't see. "Why would you want him to buy you cheap gifts?"

"I-I don't!" Marinette pushed herself back up, hands clenched into fists. "I mean, money's not everything and a gift's a gift, but he only works part-time delivering pizza! What if he's spending all of his money on me?"

"Couldn't you ask his sister?" Kagami wondered aloud.

"She'd just steal his wallet out of worry to look," Marinette replied, shaking her head in disapproval. "I don't want to invade his privacy, I just want to know why."

Kagami hummed neutrally, though her expression said it all: she had a hard time grasping the dilemma even if she was trying her best.

Rich people, Marinette thought in her head, complete with a mental sigh and gulp of imaginary tea. "I guess you and Adrien made a game about it, huh? You give each other gifts all the time."

At that, Kagami bristled. She took a wide stance, pointing a finger at Marinette as she proclaimed, "It's not a game, Marinette! It's a merciless competition between a boyfriend and girlfriend!" She turned her back to her with a small huff, bringing her thumbnail to her teeth in deep thought. "I'm still planning my next move. He won't know what hit him."

"Right, a competition. Sorry!" Marinette assured with a sheepish grin. I don't think Adrien sees it as a competition though.

Marinette supposed that their relationships weren't comparable though, which was fine. Kagami and Adrien thrived on a little tension, but she and Luka were a lot more mellow. Adrien was a lot more about grand gestures and Kagami reflected that right back at him. They'd already exchanged gifts openly in public when everyone was hanging out, and Marinette would just happily snuggle up with Luka off to the side, watching them—

Wait, she realized. That... could that be it...?

Marinette massaged her shoulder as she headed up the stairs to her room. It was a long, long day, involving her going all over Paris looking for the exact things that she needed. Luka had called and figured it out of course (he always had a way of sensing when she was in distress) but she rejected the offer to have him ride her everywhere. It wasn't that she hadn't wanted his help, but after the revelation of why he might've been showering her with gifts, she didn't know how to talk to him about it.

Her whole week had ended up feeling extra long because of it.

As she opened the trapdoor to her room, Marinette froze as the sound of a guitar hit her ears, the music seeming to come from her balcony. No way, she thought with a smile, because even if she'd been awkward with Luka it wasn't that she didn't want to see him.

With a little more energy in her steps that she hadn't thought she still had, she hurried across her room, up the stairs to her bed, and finally peeked out at her balcony.

Luka was in the lounge chair, playing a comforting tune on his guitar. Scented candles were set out on a table, along with a few snacks and drinks.

"Jule told me you were having a bad day," he explained simply.

Marinette pouted. It was mean of him to do all this when they needed to have a serious talk. If he weren't so sweet then she'd just take Kagami's advice and tell him bluntly how she felt, but she didn't have the heart to do it when his intentions were undoubtedly pure.

Unable to resist him, she pushed herself up onto the balcony. Luka was quick to move his guitar aside, freeing his lap so she could sit there and straddle him. She grabbed his face and he got up enough to meet her halfway in a kiss. Holding it, his hands slid down her back to rest against her sides while hers went underneath his hoodie to massage his shoulders.

Marinette giggled as she pulled back, just enough to look at his face. "What were you going to do if it rained?"

"Your parents let me borrow all of their umbrellas."

She collapsed against this chest, trying to contain herself at the mental image of Luka putting up umbrellas to protect the lounge chair and their table. Her legs shifted against him, unintentionally squeezing his sides from her body tensing with laughter.

Unfortunately, the universe had also decided to remind her of her goal, as her leg brushed Luka's pocket in the process. She could feel something inside that she was almost certain was yet another gift he planned on giving her.

"...Marinette?" Luka called in concern. He must've noticed that she'd stilled all of a sudden.

"Um." She hesitated, toying with the fabric of his shirt. Then, relenting to what she had to do, she pushed herself up and admitted, "I want to talk to you about something."

He frowned. "I'm sorry I went into your room when you weren't in there—"

"No." She sighed, looking away and rubbing the back of her neck. "It's about all the gifts."

Luka was quiet, but she could imagine what he was thinking. It was rare enough for them to not see each other for almost a week that there had to have been something on her mind.

"You—you put so much into all the gifts you give, but they're... a little much?" She twiddles her fingers, feeling awkward for bringing him up him even if they were long past that by now. "And... since we always see Adrien giving Kagami gifts, I thought that maybe you felt like—"

"Wait." Luka sat up, though had to adjust accordingly due to a combination of the lounge chair and an entire Marinette on his lap straddling him. He gripped her shoulder, insisting, "I already know you love me, Marinette."

"Y-yeah, but—"

"I'm not worried about us, not at all." He shook his head. "I haven't been since we got together. I never held how you felt against you, and you moved on from him so long ago anyway."

"...Then why?" She rubbed the side of her head, even more confused. "I-I know you love me too, but—"

At that, Luka paused, a rare vulnerability showing in his eyes. She gripped his hand on her shoulder and he averted his gaze from her, his lips twitching tentatively.

"It's me," he finally confessed. "I don't think you're shallow enough to love me more over some presents, and I know you don't like Adrien either, but I..." He pulled his hand away from hers, ruffling his hair in his embarrassment. "I still wanted to be able to give you anything Adrien could."

"Oh. O-oh, Luka—!"

All at once, relief flooded Marinette's body followed by affection. She leaned in, kissing Luka again, then once more just for good measure. He looked confused by the reaction, but she was insistent that he let himself be kissed.

"You don't have to do any of that!" She knew that he knew that, but she wasn't exactly thinking coherently at the moment. "I love how much you put into buying stuff for me, but I don't want you emptying your wallet for them! Isn't it enough just to..." She shrugged sheepishly. "spend time together?"

He stared, then sighed and plopped back down against the lounge chair. Smiling up at her, he replied, "I know, and I'm sorry I worried you so much. You're right."

"Of course I'm right!" she said, lightly hitting his chest. "And apology accepted, but you can't be buying me more gifts, okay? At least not as much."

"Alright."

"I mean it too!" She crossed her arms in front of her chest, huffing out, "Or—or I won't kiss you anymore! I might’ve kissed you a lot a second ago, but starting now!" Then, disheartened, she added desperately, "And I don't want to not kiss you, so..."

He nodded, voice low and eyes fond. "I promise."

She pouted, reminded again of how unfair he could be. He'd really made her concerned that he was doubting his worth in their relationship, yet he looked up at her like she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen and her worry for him only made her more attractive.

Casting a glance at the drinks on the table, she asked, "Those aren't hot, are they?"

"No," he confirmed.

"Good. I didn't want to ruin your work." She laid herself back on his chest, mischievously playing with his bangs. "I meant what I said."

He grinned, his arms going around her back. "About not kissing me if I didn't stop giving you so many gifts? Or not wanting to not kiss m—"

She cut him off with another kiss.

I honestly don’t get the tsams fandom.

I love the content and stuff, but the fans.. God the fans-

I’ve seen so many petty people complaining about female characters, the storyline, etc etc.

And what I wanna say is; I’m pretty sure you can’t do the things they do. They make so much content everyday and try their best, and all you give is hate.

Horrible.

- if you have nothing positive to say, don’t speak at all

- if you get so pressed about a character not wanting to harm himself just because you struggle with that (and I’m incredibly sorry if you struggle with it and I hope you manage to heal) just keep your words to yourself. Don’t go causing hate and screaming because you can’t relate to a character

Next ones may be a bit harsh

-don’t attack people for ships. If you can’t handle one, (apologies for harshness) just suck it up. It’s no use causing chaos because you think a ship is bad.

(Ex: I have been attacked for liking solruin. Being told to end my life, etc.)

- if your gonna be sexist the door is right there. Hating on characters because they are female is horrible.

As Davis has said, he’s seen people call Cassie a whore. Cassie is a fucking 12 year old girl. And yet people still call her that.

People hate Roxy, Earth, Ballora, circus baby, and literally any female character.

So if that’s you, please, just leave the community or just keep your mouth shut/lh

- just because something you don’t like happens in the show, doesn’t mean you can attack the VAs

Clea Strange

Doctor Strange has a wife in the comics or had I don't know relationships are at the moment, all I know is the outfit she is currently in inspiring and I wanna have fun drawing swishy clothing with rips and stuff...also I really hate that window, which I had to make by hand like 10 times because the things wouldn't line up right, I hope to make it noticeable with all my hard work. (context this was written in late September when only 2 episodes of Agatha All Along had posted)  I really hope she is in Agatha All Along, like I would like there to be more cool bad ass magic users in the universe, which is why I am excited for Agatha, but like I am also one of those who wishes the Marvel Project workers actually talked to each other and or had notes to pass along so things can line up better, Again Multiverse of Madness folks didn't know anything happening in Wandavision, and I really wish they did. I just wish Disney/marvel would stop doing quantity and did quality but you know too much to ask I guess -sips drink- I know Clea is in Multiverse of Madness, and um. I saw her outfit...it's very Marvel Movie. And yes that is a semi insult. Like her concept art for the movie is fine, I like it, but something about it going from Concept to movie something happened and it went from fine, to eh, like it's better than the whole CGI made costumes cause CGI folks aren't unionized yet and there for over worked, but like I don't know maybe the photos I saw aren't that good quality, Mind you online its only like one photo and it isn't even a full body one. Or its badly photoshopped, or AI, which god don't get me started on that rant. Also when looking up I found out there is this fan trailer for Doctor Strange 3 and Google it keeps acting like its legit and like its so obviously fan made it looks...y'all remember when you would photoshop yourself to your fave character, or do ship art? And the quality was clearly photoshopped? That's what the trailer thumbnail looks like to me, like No shit onto the person making this fan trailer, like find your joy would love some more bad ass ladies in the MCU but GOOGLE its clear and bloody obvious its a fan trailer please stop acting like it's legit.  Sorry I think I just zoned out and started ranting about google trying to show fake things as legit as well as complaining about costuming directions in modern movies. DCRC Week #24 (Part 2)

HAPPY (late) THANKSGIVING MY FELLOW AMERICANS 🦃🦃🦃 and if you're not American uuuh happy normal day. Today we're reading The Terrible Turkey! (do I really even need to say who it's by or can you fill in the dots based on the thumbnail panel)

I think I've mentioned in passing on here that I regularly volunteer with a waterfowl rescue, coming close to 3 whole years now! And though we specialize in waterfowl we take in just about any animal in need (including donkeys, emus, peacocks, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, you name an animal we've probably seen one). Anyways all this is to say that I have spent A LOT of time around turkeys and they're quite wonderful birds! In celebration of our little feathered friends I will be sharing some COOL TURKEY FACTS throughout this reading (highlighted in red text in case you wanna skim through for exclusively the cool turkey facts). Anyways back to the reading-

Speaking of wild turkeys actually, we're comin in hot with our first COOL TURKEY FACT!!!

COOL TURKEY FACT #1: There are wild turkeys. I cannot believe I am having to say this but after having a few conversations with my classmates in person most of them seemed surprised to learn that, yes, there are in fact wild turkeys living in the majority of the United States! I don't know why people find this surprising but apparently there are people that assume they're an entirely domestic animal. WRONG! Wild turkeys have roamed North America for millions of years and they're not going anywhere!

Despite Donald's hopeful thinking here he unfortunately brings us straight up to COOL TURKEY FACT #2: One of the most noticeable differences between domestic and wild turkeys is that domestic turkeys are fucking HUGE!!! (as seen in the photo below taken by myself, the bird on the left is from a meat factory while the one on the right is a wild rescue)

We made those things BIG because we want them for MEAT!!! Donald can certainly find a wild turkey to cook for thanksgiving but it's not going to be anywhere NEAR the size you'd find at a grocery store, sorry bud.

They sat alone for a total of like 10 minutes and then were like "this is BORING let's go fuck around with unca Donald" I love these little shits

Hey look, a real turkey! That means it's time for COOL TURKEY FACT #3: Donald is short as hell. Okay maybe that's not a turkey fact but you saw the picture I showed earlier, right? Wild turkeys are SMALL. And look at this one compared to Donald!!! This panel hereby proves that Donald is 8 inches tall. (I can't even say this size comparison is entirely inaccurate compared to real Pekin ducks. And they're some of the larger ducks too!)

You see that dangly bit above the turkey's beak there? Well COOL TURKEY FACT #4: That part of the turkey is called the SNOOD. Yes really. A turkeys snood can actually droop higher or lower depending on the bird's mood. A short, pointed snood indicates stress, while a long and dangling snood means the bird is relaxed!

Anyways COOL TURKEY FACT #5: Turkeys have a series of air sacs across their body that they can inflate to make themselves look bigger. Males often do this as a way to display dominance or (you guessed it) to win over the females. This is also partially what gives turkeys the appearance of being so big and round! The turkey pictured on the left here is one with all his air sacs fully inflated, but the one on the right represents what a turkey actually looks like when in a relaxed state.

COOL TURKEY FACT #6: Turkeys CAN actually fly! And they use this skill to roost in trees for the night. So Barks got this part correct :)

I left this open in another tab, meaning to watch it like a week ago. It's an official video published and promoted on the Youtube Studio dashboard, about common misconceptions around their recommendation algorithm and what the truths really are. .

And now, finally watching it, that white haired dude, Mr. "Youtube Liason", is the guy who told me the algorithm ignored one of my videos because "maybe it just wasn't very good."

Famously, and something I will never ever shut up about when given the chance to mention it, I put out a video about Jurassic Park games just before Christmas, expecting it to slot in and do decent numbers, just like all of my other videos do. Since Youtube earnings tend to spike around the holidays, this was going to be how I paid for Christmas presents that year. It was something I'd done at least twice before. Instead, the algorithm completely ignored the video because it was outside my usual wheelhouse of Sonic content.

This is shockingly relevant to the very first topic they cover: whether a single "off-topic" video actually matters with regards to how the algorithm sees your channel, and the general answer from the Youtube technician is "No." You don't gotta tell me.

When I put my full weight behind a video, it easily breaks 10k views, even 50k or 200k+ views. Some of my most popular videos have cracked the multi-millions!

So when this dude spells out in plain english that the algorithm effectively ignores one-off videos? Yeah, no shit. I'm living proof of that. Across the first two years, that Jurassic Park video struggled to break even 2000 views. Only by paying out of my own pocket for multiple promotional campaigns and constantly complaining about its lack of performance has it struggled to hit just over 5000 views, some four years later. The algorithm knew it was way outside my regular wheelhouse and treated it like poison.

And this liason clown had the balls to tell me "well maybe the video was just bad, sorry bud" only to, two years later, sit down with this technician that spells out exactly what I was knew was happening and was trying to explain to him.

Except now, of course, it's being spun as a positive: "don't worry, a one-off won't hurt your regular content" as opposed to the "we didn't notify anyone about your one-off and it became stillborn" I experienced.

I have sat down and thought very intently about this Jurassic Park video. Obviously, if I make a stink about its performance, tell people the algorithm made a poor judgment call, I'm going to get patted on the back and comforted that yes, the video is good. Don't worry. The mean old algorithm is just dumb. Right? And Youtube unflinchingly believes in the power of their algorithm as this perfect shining golden standard to drive viewership, the thing that can never, ever be wrong about guys like me.

I appreciate the comfort and support of friends and colleagues and even random strangers who are inherently distrustful of the algorithm. But I also know that feels like an echo chamber.

So then what, do I trust Youtube? Absolutely not. At the end of the day their algorithm still made an unfair judgment call and despite their claims above that any old video can get picked up by the algorithm at any time, my video has never recovered. I've tried more interesting thumbnails, I've spent almost $100 on Google Adsense promotion -- one of which, I should note, was the same week that Jurassic World 3 released, and the other being E3. Both should have been extremely lucrative times to run ads. And I got crickets.

I like the video. I stand by the fact I think I did a good job on it. I remain proud of it. It's as good as any real-effort-content I've put out in the last five years. The echo chamber tells me it's a good video, too, even if I literally can't buy views.

So my only recourse is to sit here and stew in my bitterness towards this algorithm. The shining, ultimate example as to why you should never let a computer make a qualitative judgment call. And I will be frustrated and angry about this until I draw my last breath.

Let me just be clear I am not shitting on the show I geniunely believe it is an amazing story. And I am mostly talking about the anime I have not read the manga so I do not know how many of these things apply.

But yeah before we begin;

Fire Force fans that complain about people being put off by the "fan service" or angry that this makes the show not as popular really just show how much they do not care about women.

Because you are basically saying you don't care about the consistent sexual

Because the "fan service" in Fire Force is so drastically different that the sexual posing, the constantly bouncing half exposed giant boobs, or even the ass and boob shots which while sexualizing, annoying and have their own problems are relatively easy to gloss over. The sexualization in Fire Force is pervasive and bordering on harassment ad sexual violence.

Because while Tamaki's luck leacher is played as a gag most of the time it is also something that is shown to actively hinder her life. Not just in fights too, it practically led to her ostracization from society at an extremely young age. It is something we see and are told has such a negative affect on not only how the people that she worked with view her but on her mental health as well. And for fans to just regulate it to an annoyance that distracts from cool fights is so geniunely disgusting. especially when we are talking about a character that is canonically still a teenager and a minor.

But it's not even just that, at least that gag gets addressed by the fandom and has story consequences. The thing that really kills me and irritates me (and I'm talking about the anime because I haven't read the manga so i don't know if this happens there as well) is how no female character( except Maki whose running joke is how unfeminine she is which is whole nother discussion) can enter a single fight without ending up practically naked at the end of it. It's so disconcerting because this never happens to any of them men. They can take whatever kind of beating and their clothes will still be compeltely intact. But the women enter any kind of fight and if they dont comeletly lose their jacket it's in complete scraps.

even worse cause she was getting completely beat up by this dude she really looked up too. And people use these images like they are sexy and cute. Hell it was used on a happy birthday post for her. And find Tamaki just lucky leecher right? Wrong

Here is Iris, a character that is supposed to be a nun at the end of a not even that serious fight.And that is arrow a woman who is literally supposed to be highly trained and had a bunch of men fighting with her whose outfits had not a rip in them.

and this is Shinra (main character) after a fight that completely pushes him to his limits and he was taking hit after hit.

His fit completely intact.

That arrow pic is the one all these youtubers have as their reaction video thumbnail. Like that just doesn't look like sexual violence. Like I don't understand how anyone can look at that picture, especually knowing the context of the absolutely horrible abuse she is facing in it, and not immediately feel icky.

And that's the thing in almost all the fights with female characters especially if they are losing (which when your Tamaki is often) they are posed in such ways that combined with their "artfully" postioned nudity looks a lot like sexual violence.

I'm sorry like look at this. How does this not just read as sexual violence to you. And maybe in this particular case you could make an argument that it was supposed to be implied because the bird man in the pic was supposed to be mentally manipulating her and it was all just generally really fucked up and abusive. But none of it was explicitly or even outside of this fight, implied to be sexual. It was just in the context of this fight and this and some other posing that felt so sexually violent. That i was honestly so disturbed when I watched it (which admittedly worked cause you were supposed to be disturbed by the levels of manipulation this woman suffered under).

but yeah for fans to not even acknowledge how disturbing this is how uncomfortable this is not only for the female character or the female fanbase but just anyone who might be sensitive to sexual harm or abuse. For alot of these pics to be used as sexy images like we don't know that the context is horrific violence because that's the thing all these pictures I used where taking from moments that these characters where experiencing not just tremendous overwhelming physical violence but also mental abuse and attacks. The least horrific fight here is Iris' but it was still mentally devastating for her as it was being done by someone she considered a sister. To divorce any of these pictures from their context and put them in thumbnails to catch perverted eyes is so genuinely disgusting I can't even fathom it. To not even recognize the sexually violent undertones of the image is genuinely baffling to me.

And I'm not saying all this to shit on fire force or discourage anyone from watching it because I do genuinely think that it has such an amazing story. And such an great representation they have loads of black characters that aren't stereotypically drawn (hell they even have a nigerian which i can't tell you really tickled my nigerian heart) and honestly despite what my post might lead you to believe the female character are so well thought out and incredibly nuanced and diverse. It honeslty does female characters alot better than shows that don't have this problem. Hell even with Tamaki's lucky leecher and the exploration of the deeper trauma of it was so artfully done that it almost made up for the amount of times I had to see this girls panties. The explorations of the different kinds of abuse and societal neglect or religious trauma and abuse, of living in uncertain times where you could die at any moment is so poignant and honestly so well done I've fully never seen in anime some of the ways that the aftermath of abuse is explored like was done in this show, trauma and recovery is not one and done in this show it is continueosly acknowledged and built upon. Hell one of my favorite episodes of the series is an exploration of how trauma can lead to the strangest coping mechanisms and soothing.

The show is genuinely compelling enough for me to push through all this to see the story unfold. Because again just to be clear while the posing looks very sexual no actual sexual violence occurs. And I will be going back to watch season 3 whenever it decides comes out. But it does lead me to just ask why? Why all the heavy sexualization, was there a fear that the show couldn't stand on it's own? It's one of the only animes I've ever seen where the amount of fan service actually hindered it's popularity. it was made by the same mangaka that did soul eater which Ive heard has it's fair share of fan service but wasn't hindered by it on the same level. Which gives me hope that atleast some people felt it but couldn't put their finger on exactly why it unsettled them. (because honestly besides Tamaki and the odd shower conversation scene outside of these fights the female characters aren't really sexualized one or two of them where a revealing outfit but it's just that a revealing out. which is what makes the sexualization in the midst of violence so fucking weird it's just ahhhhh) the show also occasionally falls prey to the MC saving all the damsels in distress because he's usually the one that does MC things to swoop in and save them. Especially with Tamaki but she will then use this not wanting to be saved anymore to try and get stronger. And she honestly goes out there and gets the teacher that taught the boys to teach her and she gets a training montage which I've never seen a female character "i have to get stronger like them" ever get before. so that's neat. It is also the first time I have ever really seen where a majority of the most powerful characters are female. Where there are a good number of powerful female character really who have agency both good and bad.

But yeah anyway I wasn't sharing this to discourage anyone from watching the show and honestly I'd recommend anyone that can stomach it (to reiterate there is no actual explicit sexual violence) to give it a shot, the story really is worth watching, and honestly if it wasn't for all this ick it'd have been one of my faves but only if you can stomach it. But yeah this was mostly me wanting to let people know what they were really getting into with the show and to share the thoughts I've had but never really been able to put into words since i watched the show. And my frustation with fans (mostly male fans) that say we are overreacting or just refuse to get it. But also fans that try to reduce the sexualization of a major character (who just so also happens to be a minor) to just an annoyance during your cool fight.

Kinda weird question- do you have any links to people talking about Mira from ZTD and ableist stereotypes? I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with her portrayal but kinda fumbled it and made some other ND people in chat uncomfortable. I searched for various keyword combinations but most of what I'm finding is like "and not to mention the ableism with Mira" and doesn't elaborate lol.

Not weird at all! And uh, you see, there's a recent post I made where what I complain about is the very fact I've never seen anyone post too in-depth about her at all, I'd love to see posts that do elaborate on that but I do not have any that I know of right now, sorry :/ hopefully someone else who sees this can point to one? Okay!! After some tag searches I have found exactly one post who kind of gets into it I like this take still would love to see. more than just one but hooray

And like though I complain I couldn't elaborate much on it myself I don't think, I believe most of the posts people make about Saito from aitsf would apply since it's a different uchikoshi take on the very same trope of "emotionless characters who cannot function without killing others" I guess he's a worse portrayal though since she's at least not stated to get reward brain chemicals when killing people and I guess her case also has the added layer of "femme fatale" to it? Which either makes it less bad or worse depending on where you approach it from As I said I am not doing a good job of being coherent on this oh and also there's her being "redeemed" and "cured" in the epilogue which in on itself is kinda not great to imply it just goes away like that and honestly I personally don't even buy it I think she'd just be like oh okay Akane over here has like a thousand reasons to hate me after all that oh and what's that she's the leader of a super wealthy underground organization who's organized one of these death traps before yeah no I'm better off going to prison I'll be fine there lmao bye

But I'll say as an autistic person with relatively low empathy I usually see a character who just doesn't understand other people's feelings and wants to feel them too and is just trying to survive despite getting no help and I just kinda go hm. yeah. shout-out to roxas kingdom hearts shout out to mary from ib shout out that's why I started hyperfixating on media art helps me with understanding others a great lot and Mira is just in a story too badly executed for me to care or even begin to wrap my head around tbh like god she's so fucking terribly used as a plot device in every conceivable way that it makes it difficult to see past it and into what she could possibly be if it weren't for the stereotype of equalling low empathy with no compassion what's with her killing off screen in ways that wildly deviate from her stated m.o? why or how was she even in cahoots with Zero why was that a thing? Honestly her dynamic with Sean could have been better fleshed out could have done something interesting about robot child and his aspd big sis but we just kind of don't get any attention brought to the subject of emotions and the authenticity there of except for the "reveal"...

YOU KNOW WHAT that's probably one huge reason it feels so fucked up actually! Like the whole fucking game is written so you could experience it in whatever order you want and therefore Mira being a serial killer at all is something that though not very well hidden it also cannot be a topic of discussion or explored Ever ever because the player may not have seen the fragment where that is revealed yet- problem being the menu design of that game sucks so bad and practically everyone gravitates towards the same few more interesting looking thumbnails first and then the rest is kinda just there, I mean that is part of the reason A Lot of characters feel half-baked I think but also I think it definitely does impact perception of her character specifically probably The Most and then there's just the general not being given nuance not being able to see the minutiae of how that disorder manifests in her character aside from the killings about how she acts aside from being overly flirty trying to lure in Eric but that affects pretty much all of the new cast we don't have last names and in her case we barely have any backstory at all like Saito is a harmful stereotype sure but we get So Much Context for him that people still love talking about him and delving into different aspects of his life since we have that very well telegraphed in the narrative meanwhile for Mira all we can do is fill in the blanks guesswork that only highlights the worst aspects of the surface level portrayal we got and ultimately that people just don't care enough to dissect because there isn't much there character wise once you remove it

The end of season wrap parties have always felt arbitrary to Mackenzie. They’re in television, yes, but it wasn’t like there was an off season for them, a plot bow they could tie up, a clean break in the story. The news was messy, it was constant, it was encompassing. That was what she liked about it, even if it meant that the work never stopped and that the “season” was another notch in her contract negotiating belt more than it was anything substantive.

And it also meant an ACN-sponsored party with free booze, so she supposed she wouldn’t complain. 

They’d have to pick up in the morning and start the next “season,” which is nothing more than the day’s newscast, but Mackenzie finds herself feeling reflective anyhow. She lets Wade know that she’s going to make a quick stop at her office, leaving him with an inebriated and chatty Sloan. Instead of heading to her office, she walks down the hallway and jams her thumb into the elevator button impatiently, anxious to get out to the quiet of the patio so she can think. She’s making a difference here, she knows. Her, and Jim, and Don, and Maggie, and even Will, she admits to herself reluctantly. They’re doing real news, important news, news that makes people better and more informed. And they’re doing it well enough that Will has time to despise her. 

She bites her thumbnail as she strides over to the railing, looking out at the city below. So what if Will hated her?  He was entitled. He was the anchor and she was the EP. He respected her as his showrunner. She didn’t need him to like her. 

She turns abruptly when she hears the door open behind her, not expecting to be interrupted. Of course,  she practically scowls to herself. Think of the devil, and the devil appears. 

“What’re you doing all alone up here?” Will asks softly, in a tone that’s all too familiar to her, but one that she’s rarely heard since she’s been back. 

“Just getting some air. The party’s pretty loud,” She says, turning back towards the street, not even looking at him. She can’t. 

“Can we talk, Mackenzie?”  He asks, coming to stand next to her, bracing his hands on the rail. 

“Of course,” she says, easily, as if it isn’t killing her just to feel the warmth of him radiating onto her arm. As if every moment of producing him, of owning him, wasn’t abject torture. 

“I haven’t been very fair to you,” he admits, and although she’s shocked to hear it, Mackenzie chuffs out a laugh. 

“A bit of an understatement, isn’t it?” She mutters under her breath. 

“Yes,” he admits, and now she’s really aghast. She flicks her eyes up to his for the first time and finds him staring down at her. “I just wanted you to know… I had to tell you, Mackenzie, I don’t think I ever stopped loving you,”

“Will–” 

“And I’m sorry if that’s hard for you to hear, or if you don’t feel the same way, but I think you do, Mack. I think you’re mad at me, and you have every right to be, but I think underneath that we both know that you and I—”

“Will, I’m engaged to Wade.” 

She watches this revelation hit him like a brick wall, and it makes her cringe. A part of her hates herself for it. But it’s the truth. That’s what the two of them– what journalism, she mentally corrects herself, is all about, right? A wave of something unpleasant rolls over her as she realizes that the truth, the thing they spent day in and day out working towards, was going to take Will away from her for a second time. 

“That’s not real. You’re not,” Will blusters. 

“It most certainly is real, and I most certainly am!” She argues, getting angry now. 

“Does he make you happy?” Will asks, and it has the timbre of a concerned, ages-old friend who only wants the best for her. But she knows better. He’s challenging her, just like he always does. It’s bait, and she won’t take it. He lets out a humorless chuff at her lack of response. 

“What, and you think you do?!” She’s yelling, it’s unprofessional and unladylike and she doesn’t give a fuck. “You think I like this? You think I’m happy, coming into work every day and sitting next to you in every meeting and pretending like I’m—” she stops herself suddenly. 

“Pretending like what, Mackenzie?” He asks, but she just holds his gaze. They know. They both know, and neither one of them will ever dare to say it for fear of being the greater fool.

“You don’t get to do this, Billy. You don’t get to condemn me to a life of unhappiness just because that’s the path you’ve chosen for yourself,” she commands him, as if speaking it aloud would make it so.

“This isn’t right. You know this isn’t right. I love you. You can’t tell me that you haven’t been waiting for years for me to say that. I know you have. I read the emails from when you were embedded.” 

“You told me that you didn’t,” she whispered. 

“I lied,” he whispered back, leaning in close to her. 

“Well then I have absolutely no reason to believe that this isn’t a lie, too– another one of your godforsaken punishments,” she spits out, lunging away from him.

“It’s not. This is real, Mack. Unlike whatever the fuck you’re doing with Wade,” he twists the knife, unable to ignore it when it’s right in front of him. 

“Fuck you, Billy. You know why I’m engaged to Wade? Because he’s not you. Say what you want about him, or about me, but he’s never hurt me on purpose. And I never did that to you either.”  She runs back into the building, leaves him on the balcony. He should follow her, should insist that their conversation isn’t over. But he knows, he knows deep down, that it is. He’d pushed, and pushed, and pushed, and she finally called uncle. 

He pulls out the little blue box he’d had in his pocket and pitches it over the railing.

Hi!

Of course Aqua is in my plans, like every other KH character, she's in fact one of my favourite characters together with other ones, but I'm sorry, because at this moment I'm working on commissions and any of my current commissions are about Kingdom Hearts. At the present time commissions are one of my only incomes and one of people who commissioned me has been waiting since September. So until I finish them, it will be impossible for me to work on other things. I hope you understand.

What I have thought about is to make my launch projects smaller, so that I can launch them sooner (and so that my perfectionist side doesn't complain so much). Because at the moment for Riku's CC (who wins to be the next one) I had planned to do it this way: - Riku's KH3 Hair for all ages - Riku KH3 Outfit - Riku Braveheart and Way to the Dawn (two versions - normal and break) accessories with his poses - A special set with Nightmare's End, Mirage Split and Combined Keyblade Accessories with poses for two sims (Sora and Riku), included if I can poses of KH3D.

You can more or less think how will be Aqua's set who goes after Riku's set.

What I'm thinking is on uploading little by little (i.e. first hair for all ages, later outfit and then first and second keyblades with poses) and not wait to have all finished to make thumbnails and upload it at a row because doing it the way I've been doing it up to now puts extra pressure on me and I end up burning my brain so much that I put it aside. Also I want you to know that I make this in my free time and that Kingdom Hearts is my favorite videogame ever so publish their CC the way I want (the most perfect possible) is my priority and I hate make things in a hurry, so please have patience. (I know, I know, since Sora on last january I don't upload another character of KH. I'm the first one more aware of it, but for me things have been more complicated than just uploading CC of such character.)

I think that Mateo lives school in a very negative way as we saw in other episodes so it makes sense to see him there. Cooper seems to be a bit too pressured by his parents, therefore he's in his house. As for Izzie I think she's very comfortable in a lot of places, so this is the most unreal one

i use kdenlive altho i would NOT recommend it – at least not without some caveats!!! it is free & (technically) industry standard, but like. you can get that other places, such as davinci resolve which i know my sibling is happily editing fanvids on, so 🤷‍♀️

i am personally gonna stick w/ kden just cause i'm over the learning curve now & don't care to slide back down it again, but it IS a rather steep one with this program cause the finer detail controls are kinda counterintuitive & the tutorials available are not extensive/searchable/particularily clear :/ also it's slow & prone to crashing but honestly i think that's my poor old laptop with its 8gb RAM lol

ANYWAY complaining aside it is in fact a capable little program that has served me well!! if you want the full package, i'd also recommend jdownloader (for downloading footage - i prefer full episodes so i can flick through the whole thing for Context, but it's also good for ripping yt videos) & gimp (for editing text & stills, e.g. subtitles & thumbnails - also a bit of a learning curve)

in any case, fare thee well in your editing & fair warning: it DOES make you feel like a god amongst mortals, bending reality beneath your fingertips! biggest tip would be above all you have to be in it for the love of the game, like you haveeeeeeee to strike out with that weird & niche idea that would not leave your brain every time you listened to an unreleased mountain goats song or whatever!!!! bc otherwise What Is The Point

if this is your Very First edit, i cannot stress enough that imitation is essential to understanding how everything works: pick a vid (from another fandom just so we don't get into murky plaigiarism territory) with a song you're obsessed with, then break it down literally section-by-section to kind of see how it works & reverse-engineer that. this shouldn't mean a 1-for-1 transfer: if say character A pulls a gun at 1:34 in theirs, that doesn't mean character Z has to pull a gun in yours, just that 1:34 might be part of the building tension before a chorus so you should show some decisive actions Z is taking. or if there's a montage summarising the b-plot of an episode, think about what equivalent might fit there for you. idk this isn't a hard & fast rule or like, Your Initiation Rite To The Secret Club Of Vidders, but it's something that helped me with MY first vid that i modelled off of this insanely good spn one

+ like any art medium the more amvs you consume and the more you care about unpicking how they achieve the effect they want, the better you're going to be at choosing what works or doesn't for you even if it goes against ~Conventional~ styles... at the very least, following someone else's guidelines helps you figure out when to place/how to integrate dialogue, which is one of the hardest things to do well at the start imo. just make sure you credit them as an inspiration underneath the vid of course!!!

anyway, once again, good luck!! wishing you many happy hours lost in front of an editing suite lol 🫡
