#I'm in my 'actually liking Aizawa' phase#I'm trying to work back in some of Yamada's actual features from how he's drawn in the manga#just to make him more recognizable#I've said it before (I think) and I'll say it again. Team Up Missions has the best art style of all the bnha manga series#sorry Vigilantes I love you but TUM Mic is on a whole other level#The main series has some really good panels of him especially in the later chapters (eg the one of him in his suit at the graduation)#(which I had to use as a reference to get his mouth right here)#but Team Up Missions is consistently good and I love the linework#anyway nobody remind me how Aizawa treats Mic and Midnight in the actual series or else I'll stop liking him again#I just got him in Ultra Rumble#bnha#mha#villain!mic#loudspeaker au#shouta aizawa#eraserhead#hizashi yamada#present mic#bnha au#the lack of nostrils is still jarring to me

Anyway, I'll elaborate on this in the tags bc omg I'm going to yap your metaphorical ear off.
#SO during the whole “affogato almost takes over the citadel situation” dark cacao cookie [whom i will refer to as DC for my health]#dc basically took all the cookies that were hunting/fishing/patrolling the surrounding lands for food and stuff to make them work#on fortifying the wall#therefore two things happened 1] the cookies who still were hunting for food literally couldn't keep up with the apatites of cookies who#were working super fucking hard on the wall and 2] all the farming imports from the villages near by stopped almost entirely because#it was too dangerous to import their goods or get anything from the citadel [like tools] so they had to keep what they could for themselves#so effectively a famine was starting#and so cookies started eating things they probably shouldn't like deer crackers and wolf treats#looking at you Caramel and crunchy chip#caramel just never fully kicked the habit because it was what she had alot of and she would trade her rations for them with the villages#crunchy chip just allways did that tho. he's just like that#Dc on the other hand grew up in those lands before there was real communication between villages or a citadel to depend on for rations#so famine was common and rough. eatting bark and leaves were common place in his home so while he does eat jellys he never kicked the#craving for tree bark#on the plus side hes got a crazy strong stomach and can eat just about anything#whereas chocolate wafer is from a small village near the hollyberry kingdom so they have allways had an abundance of fruits and juice to#snack on. they managed to convince dc to add dried berrys to their imported goods list and now they are considerd a sweet treat#idk how to put this in kinda organically so ill just say the dc kingdom is a place that depends on imported goods heavily#things like precious metals and food usually comes from the hollyberry kingdom [and gc before her isolation]#in return dc kingdom provides military support and has the best medicine in all of earthbread. An excerpt of the painful “I was good. I was really good” reference I made in my most recent fic where Neil goes off to Harvard to become a doctor while Todd becomes a semi-famous poet, and they bump into each other years later:
“What about you?”
“What about me?” Neil asks, seeming confused by the turn in the conversation.
“I mean, what about your hopes and dreams?” Todd follows up, not shying away from the topic because of some inexplicable brazenness which has taken over him in this blazing forest.
“Already fulfilled them,” Neil closes off boringly. “Graduated from Harvard and medical school, got married, became a doctor; that’s pretty much it.”
“Oh, come on,” Todd groans, not believing it for a second. “I said my craziest hopes and dreams for you. Surely you could do the same.”
“I’m sorry, but that’s it. That’s me shooting for the stars,” Neil amends with an unreadable smile.
“How about acting?” Todd asks, impossibly curious about where and how Neil had stored away that part of him in favor of keeping up a practical life.
The Neil he knew before couldn’t help but gush about being an actor, running around like a hurricane claiming he finally knew what he wanted to do with his life. Where had that passionate boy gone?
“Oh, that? It’s like my father said: it was a whim, something I grew out of,” Neil answers indirectly, causing Todd’s eyebrows to furrow on their own accord.
“But is that what you think? That acting was a whim?” he implores, not being able to track his friend’s point. Had he really convinced himself to dream the same dreams as his father, the same Neil who faked an approval letter just to act in a play?
“I guess he was right. I mean, imagine me acting now; wouldn’t that be horrible?” Neil asks through a laugh which Todd can’t help but feel is shallow. His heart sinks at the bitterness of the situation.
“I don’t think so,” Todd says quietly as they stroll on through the woods, his hands still deep in his pockets and his head bowed in nervousness. “You were good. Really good. Imagine if you had kept practicing.”
“Well, I didn’t, yeah? So that’s that,” Neil cuts off a bit too quickly, the bitterness starting to show in his voice.
