This is hilarious and I don’t want to take away from it by being angsty, but now I’m thinking of a situation where they’re split in half and think they’re separate people but something just doesn’t add up.

Bruce Wayne knows how to move in ways he shouldn’t. Batman keeps thinking of things only Bruce Wayne would know or care about (his kids, his butler, etc) and they both slowly come to the realization that the split wasn’t a split. There is no Batman without Bruce Wayne, and vice versa.

Trying to cleave one from the other is simply impossible, and the two halves hate each other not because their whole self hated themself, but because they are both pretending that they don’t need the other. That the other half doesn’t exist. And that harms them in either direction; Bruce Wayne needs Batman, and Batman needs Bruce Wayne. One isn’t better than the other. Greater than the other.

EA's leaves are kind of dull, and I personally think TNW's are too bright, so here's my spin on a leaf default + a new mod :-D

Leaf variety mod

There are 4 different leaf textures in the game files but only one is used. I talked with @shastakiss some years(?) ago and she mentioned an unfinished mod Neder started working on to make the leaf use different textures. Unfortunately, Neder couldn't get it to work. Shasta kindly sent me said mod and I handed it over to @lamare-sims last year who of course managed to fix it (thank you so much once again, you're a legend!!)

Note #1: worth mentioning, this mod will only affect leaves that spawn after you've installed the mod! the same goes for my mesh fix included in the default below. Note #2: if you already have this mod in you dl-folder, delete that file and use the one from this download if you're planning on using my default (otherwise my uv-map and texture edit will not work).

Defaults

Replaces all 4 leaf-textures with new, more colorful and less blocky textures. I also edited the "effect"-textures of single leaves (the ones falling from the trees). This default can be used without the mod mentioned above, but then only the "original" texture will be used - see second image.

The leaves that spawns under the tree (the one sims can't rake), it was impossible to make it look good with any of the four textures, so I re-mapped it and gave it it's own texture (256x256px). There's also an optional default for the rake included, I edited a tiny error in the mesh and gave it a texture makeover. I made a separate LOD90-default for the leafpile (meaning: the mesh in neighborhood view) and instead of replacing the textures I repo'd them, meaning that the LOD90 default works with any leaf texture default you might use (it will only be showing one texture in neighborhood view).

Texture sizes are all the same as EA's:

Leaves: 512x512px x4 (my default +1: 256x256px)

Rake: 128x256px

Leaf effects: 32x32px x3

I edited Sophie-David's leaf pile pet bed (the mesh) and repo'd it to leafpile_txtr, meaning the mesh will now pick up my default (or any other default you might have for leafpile_txtr, and if none - EA's original texture). The mesh now needs seasons + pets, since it's repo'd. Their recolors are not included, so be sure to download them from the link above if you want them and replace their mesh with mine!

I also edited Shakeshaft's leaf cover mesh (warning T$R) , I repo'd it to one of the leaf textures and made recolors - also repo'd - to the rest of the textures. This mesh and recs now need seasons, this also means that the mesh and recolors* can be used without my default.

*with the exception of rc4, which is repo'd to my custom leaf texture, found in my leaf default.

Recommended mod

I recommend simler90's Gardening Rake Leaf Pile Mod or jfade's leaf pile fix (I have no idea what the difference between those two mods are, they edit the same thing so choose one of them).

Nothing in this download is dependent on each other* so feel free to pick and choose what you want :-) remember you can only have one default for the leaves, meaning that if you have any other default (1, 2, 3, 4) or Shakeshaft's/Sophie-David's original meshes, make sure you remove them before installing my files. Everything has been compressed to reduce file size, as usual. Do let me know if I messed up anywhere!

Non-Durge Strike would've been a far worse person than he is as Durge, fun fact

Non-Bhaalspawn Strike is a child of a drow and a cambien who was found by his adoptive mothers back in their pirate days, before they settled down. He's a magical prodigy that grows up in a loving home that actively encourages him in pursuing the study of magic. He's an extremely talented sorcerer and he knows it, and without Bhaal who would keep his ego in check by being an abusive father, Strike becomes just kind of the worst?

No Bhaal means that doing good (non-murder) things isn't taboo or a novelty anymore, so they're boring now. He has no god to serve so there is noone he would feel inferior to, which means that all his ambition now goes unchecked and he ends up wanting to be a god himself. He's a sociopath in any au, here that just means less murder and more selfishness. He's still charming and manipulative but now lacks the background of a sheltered, abused child, so boy does it get worse.

In game time: There is no memory loss and no physical trauma, meaning that Strike doesn't have to rely on his companions for survival and support for his crippling mental health; he's sane, perfectly self aware and in perfect control of himself. Because of that he just manipulates mansplains manwhores his way to be in charge of the team and never establishes a strong bond with anyone there. Him and Gale know eachother from when they were studying in Waterdeep and Strike always looked down on Gale for needing to rely on Mystra for his spells. He would very much encourage Gale to explode himself and in the end succeed.

He gets Astarion to ascend. Why? Cause he wants to see how the ritual works, nothing else. Demonic magic would be really interesting to him. He'd then break up with Astarion and laugh in his face at the idea of becoming bonded to him for life - they leave off on bitter terms. They do save Aylin but only because Strike wants to see a demigod in action; later he helps her kill Lorroakan but also steals the wand that could seal Aylin forever, just in case if he ever needs a convenient immortality on hand.

When he meets Gortash they vibe so hard with eachother that Karlach punches Strike in the face for being such an awful dick about it, but he manipulates his way out of the situation. He does like Gortash but at the same time pities him because he thinks it's pathetic to serve a god like that.

In the end, he gets the crown of Karsus for himself and manages to override it back into its true purpose, and the gang would have to fight him to try and stop him. Upon their failure, he'd become the next Karsus.

So yeah, all in all? Bhaal surprisingly helps him be a way better person lmao

He slowly allows himself to indulge in your presence, but in the most unhealthy way possible. Jason tried to keep himself away, he really did, but he always found his feet dragging to you.

Maybe its the little sacrificial lamb in him, the yearn for a greater good in his destruction. Thats what he believe he was conditioned to be, ’The Greater Good.’ Batman cleaned him from the dirt-stricken filth of Gotham alleyways; Batman would make his coat pure and holy, he learned to achieve that ‘Greater-Good’ when Batman wrapper that rope around his neck and lead him to that devil, or saint, he couldn’t tell the two apart sometimes. They both look the same as his depraved reflection.

When his red branded rebirth came he couldn’t help himself trotting to you like the holy little lamb he was conditioned to be. You, the only compass he had, a sense of direction he couldn’t bear to lose. He sits in your presence waiting for his rapture. When not, he’s stuck in a state where can’t tell if he’s more scared of being lost or alone. Jason finds he’s neither when with you, with you he’s stained red but his neck is no longer painfully warm, his body can be mangled, his mind can be mortal. He always trots back to you, because it is the first place he is welcomed to with open arms, yes, you are the warm light of the heavens he was conditioned to bask in. The personification where the death of his self is meant to be.

Acts Of Service - I believe this side of him comes more when its towards the part of the relationship where he’s most comfortable! He’ll run errands, do your dishes, maybe if the guilt of getting your floor a little bloodied gets to him he’ll pay your rent. It takes him awhile to loosen up and stop acting like a house maid. He still does everything he can for you but in an mundane way, like a little routine. (like a little wife omg chat i love him)

Whenever he slips through that window he takes armor off and sets them down on your floor. He’ll walk over to where you sit and kiss you on the cheek, whispering in your ear on how he ordered take out. He’ll come back to you with clean clothes and washed hair, sitting close to you, yet not closer if not allowed.

He’s much like a Saint Bernard now, for he always finds his way back to your side. A gentle giant, neither of you can keep yourselves away from each other; tenderly caring for each others needs. With you, he gave up on his divided sense of pride, his fundamentals and foundations that gave his name meaning were reckoned meaningless, he gave it up and swallowed the bitter pill of which he found the unsatisfactory taste of forgiveness; and with that pill he allowed himself to grieve.

He’s much like a Saint Bernard now, he can guide people to the place they believe to be heavens for their sake of peace. (In Summer Daze) What were Sun and Moon's reactions to realizing they were falling for Reader?

Moon was surprised but easily accepted it; though he knows that you desperately want to be both him and Sun's friends, he's uncertain if these deeper feelings are okay to have or if you'd no longer want to be close. So he makes sure not to take too big of risks getting closer to you, wanting to test the waters slowly.

It's easy to hide his outward affection from you (though neither really needs to as any flirting affections go straight over your head) since he was always the more quiet of the two. He then started spending a lot more of his free time day dreaming about you; long walks around the lake during sunset or getting cozy snuggled up together and star gazing on the cabin roof.

He really didn't mind having another love to share, in fact was quite happy with how well you'd seem to fit them both.

Sun however... was not. It annoyed him how easily you seemed to win both of them over despite his best efforts. Once he had realized he actually liked you he started becoming more grumpy and acting back out again to try to push you away; it didn't work.

You being further away only made him more upset than you being near him, if you weren't near him or Moon, someone else could be close to you and that certainly wasn't allowed. He struggled being honest about his new feelings; though Moon could tell right away and would tease Sun.

The tasks he used to assign you to deal with on your own suddenly were a lot less lonely; he had to make sure you were doing a good job after all..

Maybe that’s a great idea for an epilogue…Clark and Bruce happily cuddling in bed and Bruce’s phone going off with texts. But instead of getting jealous or sad, Clark just grabs Bruce and squeezes him to his chest because he can now, and yeah maybe Bruce is silently laughing at him but that’s okay, he wants to do this now. And of course Bruce takes that opportunity to make a joke about buying Hal a thank you gift…Clark gets a little tense and says “sleeping with you was a gift” and they both get a little quiet as their eyes lock, they realize how close they are, and how much this is still bittersweet because those days of longing don’t disappear overnight…..and then they fuck, because duh.

Oh, I've been depicting it as romantic the whole time (remembers I'm asexual and aromantic and thus my depictions of such are alien at best) Er, though you'd be forgiven for not noticing.

I know I don't draw them being particularly traditionally cute (kissing, cuddling, etc) (even though I do envision that any time it's not literally extremely inconvenient that they are entangled like a pair of magnetised squiddles) particularly often.*

(Though, I do have some hints at that kind of behaviour: (x) (x) (x)) But this is where, hm, my particular readings of these characters' self-assessment comes in.

I believe that I (an aroace tumblr user who has been immersed in nuianced language about such things since i was an early teen) and Siffrin/Loop (a guy approaching their thirties who seems to have escaped social pressures primarily via isolation from their peers) will have some different views on things. Hell, Sif/Loop don't even have words for Asexuality and Aromanticism even if they seem to be able to point toward the feeling with roundabout language.

I think that their relationship, in the way that it would manifest, would first and foremost be Physical. Some real Maslow's hierarchy shit. Both of them are viciously touch starved and given the whole shared-ownership-of-body thing I keep alluding to (x) (x) I think they are prone to being a tangled pile of limbs both clothed and unclothed.

Now I (enlightened modern day asexual) do not think that physical/sexual/romantic are in any way synonyms unless you want them to be. I believe that literally all associated behaviours of these can be platonic if that's how you feel about it. Howeverrrrrrr. I really cannot envision "black-and-white-thinking-world-champion siffrin and/or loop" being able to disentangle that so easily. I think they would have trouble squaring the circle of certain actions not being reserved for romance, at least not until after several years of continued unpacking and philosophical discussion with Mirabelle and Odile.

And then there's the part where Siffrin/Loop (and also Isabeau!) have some absolutely insane Jealous streaks. Not even on the downlow, they just do. I think that combination of jealousy and posessiveness when paired with unevenly splitting time between A Guy You're Established To Be (at the very least on his side, romantically) In Love With, and Your Weird Fucking Clone Who You Keep Being Intimate And Intensely Emotional With, is going to cause some problems when it comes to labelling things.

I do not think Sif/Loop are stupid, but man do they ever lack emotional intelligence in a lot of areas (a thing the whole game hammers home). I do not think that they would be level-headed enough to independently invent the idea of "QPR, but the kind where you do basically fuck sometimes". I think they would just (agonise over cheating, first of all.) call it a romantic pairing and be done with it.

And then Isabeau is also there I guess. I gesture at him and at my aforementioned Iseabeau Torment Nexus thoughts (x)(x). I believe this polycule can work and even be healthy but hahahaha oh man they are gonna have some weirrrrrrd fuckin tension beforehand lolllll.

as for how i think they'd get to that stage? lol, lmao. I think of things with a lens of 'what would be the most narratively intense' a lot of the time, so my answer there is:

They basically act like one right out of the gate, at least to the average onlooker**. This makes the fights feel worse. This makes them both paranoid in different ways about how this affects Siffrin's relationship to Isabeau. This makes it more difficult for the party to go "hey so, your friend, we're all being very accepting of their sharp edges because they're clearly someone who's struggling, but why are they suuuuch an asshole?". They fret about this and it causes more push and pull as either side feels guilty about this relationship they're not 'supposed' to have. Even if their relationship woes could easily be squared away by either categorising it as a QPR or talking to Isa (who is vaugardian and probably thus lax about polyamory) neither of them are going to do that right out of the gate because they lack the language, are prone to being wracked by guilt, often assume the worst will happen should they talk about difficult topics, and straight up maybe just see intimacy/sexuality/romance as a package deal due to lacking the social expertise... You see what I mean.

I don't Know if what I envision is... The literal platonic ideal of "A Romantic Relationship". I don't know that if Cupid came on down and inspected my brain that they'd agree that this is romantic and not just like, something really fucking weird, man. I don't even know if I would call it romantic, necessarily. BUT. I Do Think. That These Two. Would Maybe Label It That Way. Because it would make it easier for them to understand and come to peace with that way. Which is what matters. Labels are Descriptive, not Prescriptive.

What I DO think i envision however is something so fucking aroace brained that i can point to sif/loop's canon labels, point to MY labels, and then give you a big thumbs up hoping that you won't get on my ass for implying several sentences upstream that "they probably basically fuck, or something, idk, does star-sucking count as sex? i'm not a doctor nor medical professional of any kind. you probably shouldn't drink whatever comes out of it though"

Implicit question 2: "Jesus Christ you make them seem to hate each other, is that not contradictory? Is that all supposed to be during them being romantically involved?" Yup! Sorry for the subtle undercurrent I haven't previously explicitly and overtly established literally at all but a good chunk of that percieved hatred is a byproduct of Loop keeping their identity secret. That's the space wherein I set most of my fanart. (x) Once that cat is out of the bag I think the heat cools off significantly because then they aren't both talking around each other trying not to actually say what they're fighting about. They can actually bond about shared experiences out in the open rather than keeping their traps shut in case the party overhears. They still fight and have problems thereafter, but it's not made worse by being unable to directly discuss the core issue (+ the party can actually contribute/try to shut things down rather than being unclear on what exactly the issue is)

The above ALSO not helping when it comes to jealousy/feelings of infidelity re: Isabeau. (When specifically in the context of Romantic Frustration here, since that jealousy extends to the whole party when generalised) So that adds another thing to, not necessarily fight about, but be bitter over.

As for hatred being contradictory. Mmm. Nah.

The opposite of Love is not Hate. It is Indifference. (A theme ISAT notably gets at). Hate is distinctly something you do if you care. Often if you care Way Too Much.

I try not to write them hating each other, so much as feeling extremely intensely about each other. (x)

(This is something I have previously yapped about at length in essays about my OCs lol) And generally view that there's no "true" label for any relationship except the one that doesn't cause undue distress. (which. i mean it does here. but it probably works out in the end with enough talking)

Asking me to define if something is romantic is like asking me to pin down the true form of the Human Soul. Like dawg i dont know how to do that i dont even know if that shit is real. there are merely actions and their constructed societal categories. If i tell you I think they kiss sometimes does that clear it up? (It shouldn't, obviously, but you get what I mean)

But yeah. Gestures broadly. Shipping an ace (and maybe even aroace based on some shit that little fella says) character like this means it comes with an essay. I have fertility issues. I've made no secret of that on this blog, and something tells me you know that. I could go on, wax lyrical about all the love the Church has for women who struggle in this area. I could point you to the countless women in the Bible itself who struggled to conceive, only to be granted a miracle in later life by God Himself.

I could point out to you how God calls people to celibacy, and if it weren't for the celibate you'd have almost none of those charities run by female religious, and that society would have certainly collapsed years ago were it not for childless cloistered women praying for it ceaslessly, but let's be honest here. You could have found those responses on Catholic Answers or any of the multitude of robust, beautiful sources the Church provides us in her wisdom and charity, or, well, done pretty much anything other than come into the inbox of a woman who is probably unable to bear children to spew your rhetoric, so instead of all that, I'm going to leave you with this: someday, someone you love, maybe even you or your own spouse, is going to struggle to conceive, and is going to tell you about it, and you are going to feel sick to your stomach because you remember what you said to me.

It's a good thing for you that the Church which welcomes me and those like me joyfully teaches us to not hold grudges, because we will surround that person with the love and support of the Church which you claim women like me don't deserve.

When an artist has a confidential guest attend one of their concerts, how is that accomplished? Does the guest arrive in a disguise? Is there a staff member assigned to help hide the guest? I’m imagining Louis sneaking around like a ninja.

Louis and Harry’s situation is very specific, but it does definitely happen. Ill speak in general terms a bit too to give you a bit of a scope on how this works

Now, firstly, it depends how big the artist is, and how big their touring crew is. So, for example, a small band when touring will never have the same amount of crew as a big artist obviously. They will instead outsource and hire local crew from crewing companies to do FOH, security, etc. and will sometimes have the venue handle the guest list as well. But with smaller acts, they’re not usually hiding a massive secret or having A listers rock up that need to be hidden, so yeah.

Harry’s touring party, rightly so, is massive. There’s roughly 80ish crew that he took on tour with him throughout LOT. like… almost all these people flew to every city. wild. But anyway, big stars have their trusted A&B party staff and rarely are swapping people in and out, because these folks know what’s gonna happen, they’re high up in their field, they’ve run the shows before etc., SO anyway sorry im rambling but basically big stars bring their trusted Backstage/VIP staff on tour.

There’s a few positions that crossover with this role of looking after confidential & any other guests, sometimes called a Backstage Coordinator if they are also handling a few other backstage roles and do not need to dedicate their entire time to the confidential guest (less likely in Larry’s situation), or they can be called a VIP/Guest Handler if there are going to be multiple guests across the tour/the confidential guest goes to more than one show, but much like most of the industry roles can overlap but yeah - there will be someone allocated to look after guests

ANYWAY

So if there were to be a confidential VIP coming through, it’ll be kept as quiet as possible. Only people who need to know will know, and oftentimes the promoter/local staff/venue staff will be shut off from entering that area of the building/venue without a short NDA signed for only very essential people. However, it depends on the venue layout for how strict they can be, but obviously stadiums are huge and have a lot of different entrances so yeah, it can vary. But usually the person is always in disguise.

It can be simple, like a hoodie and a hat and sunglasses and a Covid mask for example, but in something like Larry’s situation they’ll definitely be as in disguise as possible, escorted very quietly with certain entrances shut off, and venue/local security will also be warned to keep a close eye out. They’re not told who the guest is, but just that there’s a vip walking through the building and it’s crucial that this pathway is kept entirely blocked off. That staff member who’s looking after the VIPs would have received a map of the venue and would be all over it with security to ensure there’s a quick and discreet route. But stadiums are the best place to do this, because they are huge and there’s so much going on that it’s easy to slip by sometimes.

Louis would be easier to sneak into Harry’s shows because of the venue size, but also because he’s a little less recognisable too. For H to go to Louis’ shows, it’s still possible obviously he’s been before but just a little less easy to be sneaky with the venue size and how easily recognisable he is. But yeah, anyway

They’ll be escorted up to a press/media suite/corporate box/VIP box whatever you wanna call it after initially hanging out backstage, and usually be out of there before the show ends to meet the artist back at the hotel or whatever. They don’t ever catch the whole gig for their own safety/confidentiality. They’ll have their own security, driver, the works. They’re looked after just as much as the artist.

In short: the people who need to know, will know. Someone from the artist’s trusted team will organise the logistics of getting them in and out of the venue safely. They’ll be very looked after and then they’ll disappear before the end of the show to be on the safe side. It happens a lot.

I want to thank everyone their support with reblogging my stuff over the years and reblogging some of the context of the situation.

Tumblr and Instagram is filled with the most supportive people I’ve ever had the chance of meeting. The last time something like this happened, I didn’t have much support, not even from people I thought were close to me. It took me a year or two to be okay with being perceived again in fandoms. So I’m very grateful for everything.

I just wanted to post that I appreciate all of the asks and I’ve been reading all of them. I actually get anxious I’m spamming everyone too much so I probably won’t reply to everything. Please don’t feel pressured to support me financially, there’s is a free option on patreon to follow. I’ll post future project plans and occasional updates because I still love comics and I still love DC/Marvel. I do enjoy having people following along for my art/reading journey so I would always be okay with people just following for free. My brain is telling me this post is too long now so I will go 🙏🏼😭
